Hey everybody, Pastor Steven Anderson here from Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona with another Trinity moment proving that the Trinity is biblical. Now when we talk about the Trinity we say that there are three persons that make up one God. And a lot of people who are anti-trinitarian, unitarian, modalist, whatever, they take issue with that word persons and they think that that's unbiblical to say that God is made up of three persons. But I'm going to show you from the Bible that that actually is biblical. Now the reason that we use the term persons is because it's crystal clear reading the Bible that God the Father and God the Son, Jesus Christ, are not the same person. Now even though there's only one God and that Father, Son, and Holy Ghost make up that one God, and even though we strongly believe that Jesus is God, and there are tons of scriptures to prove that Jesus is God, Jesus is not God the Father. The Father and the Son are not the same person. They're two separate persons. That's why they have their own wills. That's why the Father sent the Son. The Father loves the Son. Jesus said I wasn't sent. I didn't send myself. The Father sent me and on and on. So let me show you how this term persons is actually biblical. Hebrews chapter 1 verse 1 says, God who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets hath in these last days spoken unto us by his son whom he had appointed heir of all things by whom also he made the worlds who being the brightness of his glory and the expressed image of his person and upholding all things by the word of his power when he had by himself purged our sins sat down on the right hand of the majesty on high. Now, it's crystal clear here that Jesus and the Father are not the same person because the Bible uses that third person possessive pronoun to say that Jesus is the expressed image of his person, right? That means that there's the Father's person and then there's the Son's person and the Son is the image of the Father's person. It says he's the expressed image of his person. It says that God meaning God the Father has spoken unto us by his son and that his son is the expressed image of his person. That's why when you hear the Trinity taught you'll often hear it taught as the person of the Father, the person of the Son, and the person of the Holy Ghost. Why? Because the Father's person is not the same as the Son's person. That's why the Son is the image not of his own person but he's the image of his person. So the wording of the person of the Father, the person of the Son, it's straight out of the Bible. It's straight out of Hebrews chapter 1. And you know if there's any question about whether Jesus is God, later in this passage it tells us in Hebrews 1 8, but unto the Son he saith, who saith? The Father says to the Son thy throne O God is forever and ever. A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom. Because they're both God. Okay, the Father is God. The Son is God. The Holy Spirit is God. One God composed of three persons.
