(Disclaimer: This transcript is auto-generated and may contain mistakes.) Hello everybody, it's MrTol23 back there video. This is another video on the basic doctrines of the Bible. Today I want to talk about the subject of the indwelling of the Holy Ghost. So we believe in the indwelling of the Holy Ghost in all believers in the New Testament. That is that once somebody is saved, God gives them the gift of the Spirit or the gift of the Holy Ghost which indwells them and enables them to walk according to his commandments and to have a full understanding of the scriptures. Jesus promised in John chapter 7 verse 38 to 39, He that believeth on me as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. But this spakey of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive, for the Holy Ghost was not yet given because that Jesus was not yet glorified. This was fulfilled after Christ's resurrection in John chapter 20 when he came unto his disciples and said unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost. All who believe now receive the Holy Ghost as is written in Ephesians chapter 1 verse 13 to 14, In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. Therefore God indwells the body of every believer by the Holy Ghost, making our bodies the temple of God, as is written in 1st Corinthians chapter 3 verse 16, Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? In 1st Corinthians chapter 6 verse 19 to 20, What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. This is a gift from God to those who have believed. That is why it's called in the scriptures the gift of the Holy Ghost. It says in 1st Thessalonians chapter 4 verse 8, He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his Holy Spirit. Everybody who is saved in the New Testament has the Holy Ghost within them. There are no exceptions to this. If anybody does not have the Spirit of God, then they do not belong to Christ. It's explained in Romans chapter 8 verse 9 to 11, But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his, and if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. So the Spirit that we have as the sign is explained in 2 Corinthians chapter 1 verse 22 and chapter 5 verse 5, that we shall one day be resurrected in our bodies also by the Spirit of God. Right now we have both the flesh and the Spirit which indwells within our bodies and enables certain things for us which were impossible for us as unbelievers and are impossible for any unbelievers today. These things include understanding the Word of God. It's written in 1 Corinthians chapter 2 verse 12 to 13, Now we have received not the Spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God, which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. So the Spirit of God teaches us spiritual things and gives us an understanding which cannot be received by the natural man. This is in fulfillment of Christ's promise concerning the Holy Ghost in John chapter 14 verse 26, where he said, But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever I have said unto you. Therefore the Holy Ghost which indwells believers is sufficient to helping us understand spiritual truths by that which is written within the Scriptures. Another thing which the Spirit allows us to do is to walk in the Spirit, that is to set our minds on the Spirit instead of the things of the flesh. It's written in Galatians chapter 5 verse 16, This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. So instead of performing the works and the lusts of the flesh, which is sin, we instead show forth the fruits of the Spirit. The Scriptures teach us that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. In 2 Corinthians 3 17, We have been made free from sin by being saved. We are redeemed from the curse and bought by God to become servants of righteousness, as it explains in Romans chapter 6. Therefore, with the Spirit of God within us, when we walk in the Spirit, we are free from sin. And we become servants of righteousness, and the fruits of the Spirit are shown. It's written in Galatians chapter 5 verse 22 to 23, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. Against such there is no law. So thank you everybody for watching and goodbye.
