If you need a bulletin, would you just lift up your hand? There's one right there on my bench right there. On our front cover, we have our verse of the week. It says, a true witness delivers souls, but a deceitful witness speaketh lies. That's Proverbs chapter 14 verse 25. Our service times are Sunday morning at 1030 a.m. And our Sunday evening service is 3.30 p.m. I am taking a break from the Antichrist sermons, so I'm just going to preach a standalone sermon tonight. And Thursday, we have our Bible study in 1 Peter that we're still going through. So we're going to be in chapter number 2 the next time we're there. So we finished chapter 1 on Thursday night, and our souling times are listed below. And if you'll take note to the afternoon one today, I updated the time, which is 1.15. We all meet in here. If you're in the WhatsApp group and you want to just meet on location, then you're more than welcome to do that. Just let the souling captain know that you're going to be doing that. Brother Sean Collins right there, would you raise up your hand, Brother Sean? So that way he kind of knows like what to prepare for when he gets on there. It's like herding cats once we get there. So anything you can do to help him out would be much appreciated. And then we have other souling times available for Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. There's also a Saturday, second Saturday time that's meeting at 6.30. I think they had two salvations last night, so praise the Lord for that. And then I think the bigger group went out yesterday and had one salvation. They were looking for that one diamond in the rough and they found it, so praise the Lord for that. And then we do have regional times that you can get with those respective leaders down below and let them know that you want to go souling and they'd be happy to go out with you. And then the praise report, you can see the salvations, baptisms, and attendance totals down below there. Brother Wynn baptized two people yesterday, Brother Ian baptized one last Wednesday. And then the big jump, and I'm counting those baptisms in ours because it's our church, dang it. So they count, all right. We've really had, I think we've only had one baptism in this one this year, I'm pretty sure. So if anybody wants to be baptized today, the water's warm and we have towels and things that you need, so feel free to come forward for baptism if that's something that you want to do. You don't have to come down here, you can just see me after the service or just let one of the ushers know that you plan on being baptized and we'll take care of that after the service. So upcoming events, we have a lot now, it used to be a little, but now it's a lot again. September 13th, we're going to have a homeschool field trip to the Tillamook Creamery. Is that what it's called, the Creamery? Something like that, okay. So that's where they make Tillamook cheese, Tillamook ice cream, all that stuff. So the homeschool group is meeting there. If you're in the WhatsApp homeschool group, it has the address and I think they're going to the beach afterward at a certain location, so it's secret. So you have to ask Miss Rachel and she'll fill you in all the details. There's no cost, obviously, for anybody that wants to go. We don't charge for anything at our church, everything's free, but I think the Tillamook tour is actually free, so we're really getting off pretty cheap this time. So anyway, September 28th through October 1st, we're going to have our Yakima Sewing trip and I already sent in the rooms. Is there anybody else that didn't get signed up for the Yakima trip that is wanting to go because I need to email them and let them know how many people, how many nights, if you're going to be there Wednesday through Saturday or what. Anybody going to be there or plan on being there that didn't sign up? All right. We'll forever hold your peace then. Okay, no, I'm just kidding. But all right, so we got that sent in and then I'll be preaching in Yakima on Friday night there, so we'll have a service on the last night and then we'll probably do some cleanup maps the next day, Saturday, before we take off home. So October 8th is Miss Amy's Baby Shower that'll be here at the church building at 11 a.m., is that right? I put the church building, I didn't know any other, I added that myself. Is it here? Okay. Yeah, okay. All right. She thinks so. So, women can never decide. No, I'm just kidding. Just kidding. Eli, can I get a witness? No, I'm just kidding. Anyway, October 22nd is the Pumpkin Patch, the annual Pumpkin Patch trip that'll be at 11 a.m. at Busy Farms, I forgot to put Busy Farms on there, but that's where we're going. So, I'm going to go over and brush prairie, so that'll be, you don't, I do kind of need, I think there is a sign up in the group, there's a sign up in the group, so go ahead and sign up in there and if you're not in the group and you want to go to the Pumpkin Patch trip on that Saturday, then please see me after the service or just email me or text me or whatever you want to do and I'll get you added to the group, so. And then, October 23rd, Pastor Roger Jimenez will be here preaching for us at 1030 a.m., so it'll be great to have him preach for us once again and he'll be able to spend a little more time here than he did last time. I think he's bringing his kids, so that'll be a great time of preaching. He always brings a great sermon and I really like him a lot. He's the pastor that ordained me. He's the one that started this church, so, you know, it's kind of a big deal, so, for me, but I'm sure everybody wants to hear him preach on the 23rd, so make sure that you mark down on your calendar that he'll be here. And then, October 27th, we're going to have a preaching service in the Seattle area. I haven't pinned down where I'm going to be, for sure. I say Seattle area and last time it was Kent, which is kind of Seattle, but not really. So, wherever we can get a place that we can rent out for the evening, we're going to do it there. There'll be more details about that later on. And then, I put September 28th, I don't know what I'm thinking here. Look at that, September. Rion, you're fired for not editing this correctly, but after the service, you'll be rehired again. All right, so, anyway, the preaching service will be in the Seattle area then October 28th. There'll be Sowing in Blaine, Washington. And then, October 29th, we're going to have, we're going to share, we're going to just go up there and be a blessing to Sure Foundation Baptist North, our Canadian church. We're going to meet at Peace Arch Park and we're going to have an anniversary service there at 1030 a.m. and there'll be also a 2 p.m. service. And so, everybody's invited to go to that. And then, October 30th, there'll be a chili dinner after the morning service. So, I'm not doing a chili cook-off because I don't want to be the judge. I know, you know, they that are spiritual should judge, but this is a carnal. This is a chili con carne dinner, so, no, you can bring, you can put beans in it if you want. That's totally up to you. I would ask this, though, if you're going to make some really hot chili, because I know that some people, that's what they're already thinking right now. They're like, I'm going to make the hottest chili ever. If you do that, please make sure that we separate that because I don't want a little kid accidentally getting a bowl of that chili and then, like, us having to go to the hospital or an old man like me. All of a sudden, I have a heart attack from the chili or whatever. So, please make sure we're differentiating between, I should say, spicy chili. It all should be hot because cold chili is disgusting, but it should be, if it's spicy, it needs to be noted or bring some kind of sign on there with skeletons and a crossbones and stuff like that. So, and then, October 30th, also, we're going to have a men's preaching night for the evening service. So, if you're a man and you want to preach, we'll give you 10 minutes to preach and we'll probably have a sign up for that at some point, but who's planning on preaching at the men's preaching night? We haven't had one in a while. We've got one, two, three, four, five, Paul, six, Brother Sean, seven. Okay, cool. Brother Robert? No? Somebody else? All right. Brother Bill? Somebody? Okay. All right. Well, that's good. And anyway, let's see, that's all I got for announcements of her upcoming events, but that's a lot, isn't it? So, we are a family-integrated church. That means the children and infants are welcome during the church services. Please utilize the mother-baby room, which is right back there, or the dad-baby room back there. Please, no cross-gendering here. We want the ladies only in the mother-baby room during the services and the men only in the mother-baby room during the services. Anyway, just utilize those rooms. The sound gets pumped in to there. There's a window you can look through and pretend you're in a zoo or something. And then over here in the dad-baby room, we have monitors and comfortable seating. So those are for your convenience. And then please reserve the back rows for families with young children. Gliders or rockers are for pregnant and nursing mothers and elders only. And let's see, please watch your children at all times in any area of the building and make sure you keep a good eye on them. And then please, no food in the assembly area unless we're having some kind of a party and you have permission. All right? Silence your cell phones, if you would, at this time, please. And then escorts are available to the vehicles by ushers that are here, willing to walk you to your car. It's starting to get light or dark earlier. Not light, dark earlier. So pretty soon it'll be daylight savings time, a time that I hate every single year. I like the extra hour of sleep, but I hate the sun going down earlier. So that's not fun. But anyway, let's see. The text-giving number and the websites there, the ties and offerings that came in for the month of August is at the bottom of the page there. And I just want to make a quick announcement about the bathrooms. Okay? So the bathroom, we have three bathrooms right over here. If you're allowing your older child to take a child to the bathroom, please make sure you're just using the first two bathrooms there, okay? The back bathroom seems to be a favorite for people to want to go in and hang out for a long time. But it's also a good spanking area. So like if you're, I prefer that parents only take children to that back bathroom. I don't want any children in the back bathroom. And then upstairs, we only use those bathrooms. There's one bathroom up there that's supposed to be being used. And obviously, if we have like a big amount of people or something, we could use the other ones. But the urinal in the men's bathroom upstairs is out of order, so don't use that one, all right? So I just wanted to make sure everybody understands that. And then if your children aren't old enough to go to the bathroom by themselves, then please I want a parent to take them to the restroom, okay? So anyway, I'm not going to get mad like I did last service or two services ago. Anyway, so we have some birthdays to celebrate. Kaylin Luwai is birth date, how old are you? Sixteen, wow. I always keep people at the same age in my mind, so I don't know if that's a condition or something. But it seems to me like it is, but I can't believe you're 16 already, wow. Happy birthday. Paul Harrington is the, his birthday is the ninth, and how old are you going to be, Paul? Two? How old are you going to be? Six, wow. Can you ride a bike yet? No? Six years old is the oldest you can be before you learn how to ride a bike, all right? All right, well let's sing happy birthday to the birthday people, all right? Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday God bless you, happy birthday to you. All right, we already sang happy anniversary to Remy and Kayla, you don't get to. Just a couple notes real quick before I end the announcements. So we got some DVDs out there. As you walk in to your left, there's some DVDs called Science Falsely So-Called. Those were DVDs that were from when Matt Powell was here, I think he used some of our material in it and stuff like that. But anyway, you're free to grab a copy of that, anybody can grab a copy. There's not a lot there, but also we got some more sodomite deception DVDs, and so on the table, the soul winning table, which is right around the corner there, there's, just feel free to grab a copy, and the soul winning table is stocked. So you know, when we go out soul winning, just make sure you grab what you need right there, we got everything stocked up and ready to go, I made some more packets, there's only a few of them, but I did make a packet station in the back where the soul winning area is, so if captains want to go back there and make those little packets that I make, all the stuff is back there, so feel free to do that. And then I think, yeah, that's all we have for announcements, let's sing another song and we'll receive the offering. All right, our next song will be song number 495 in your blue hymn books, our new song for this week, A Flag to Follow. Song number 495 in your blue hymn books, A Flag to Follow. Song 495, let's learn this song together, let's sing it out on the first. I sought a flag to follow, a cause for which to stand. I sought a valiant leader who could my love command. I sought a stirring challenge, some noble word to try, to give my life fulfillment, my dreams to satisfy. I found them all in Jesus, the life, the truth, the way. Beneath his flag I'll take my stand and follow him today. I sought a ringing answer for all my doubts inside, a torch of truth uplifted, my searching steps to guide. I sought a word of wisdom, a true authority. I sought to know life's purpose, to solve its mystery. I found them all in Jesus, the life, the truth, the way. Beneath his flag I'll take my stand and follow him today. I sought for satisfaction for yearnings deep within. I sought for full deliverance from chains of guilt and sin. I sought for peace and pardon for freedom from my fears. I sought a hope to cling to beyond these passing years. I found them all in Jesus, the life, the truth, the way. Beneath his flag I'll take my stand and follow him today. Beneath his flag I'll take my stand and follow him today. Beneath his flag I'll take my stand and follow him today. I sought for peace and pardon for yearnings deep within. Ephesians 6 the Bible reads, Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor thy father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise, that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. And ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, and singleness of your heart, as unto Christ, not with eye-service as men pleasers, but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, with good will-doing service. As to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall be received, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free. And ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening, knowing that your master also is in heaven, neither is there respect of persons with him. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might, but on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore, take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in bonds, that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, and how I do, Tychaeus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things, whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that ye might comfort your hearts. Grace be to the brethren in love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. Brother Bill, we pray for us. Heavenly Father, we thank you for another morning in church. Just to be with us here today, and understand the message of the Holy Ghost, helping to preach more of this. Amen. All right. Well, I'm going to preach part two to what I was preaching last week, which is being ready to preach the gospel. So this is the second part of that, and I know we have some visitors here, and you might not have been here. You weren't here last week, but I encourage you, anybody that's here today, I encourage you to take notes on some of the stuff that I'm about to teach, and if you go to a different church and they tell you to do something differently, then, you know, follow your pastor, okay? So not everything is going to be exactly maybe the way you've learned how to go soul wanting, but like there's many ways to skin a cat, but the gospel is still the gospel. So the gospel is what saves. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation. So also last week, I basically was, it was an instructional on the things that you should and should not do, kind of basically etiquette and, you know, not walking through people's grass, not sitting on their furniture, and not bringing up, you know, weird analogies and things like that. So, but it was a lot of instructional and kind of preparing you to get to the point where you're going to preach the gospel, and this sermon is going to be basically how to preach the gospel. And again, if you have your gospel presentation down pat, then that's fine, but we can always learn something from God's word and maybe something different than we're not adding to our own gospel presentation. You know, I think that it's good for soulwinners that are experienced to go with new people because sometimes you're going to learn something new from that person that you'd never learned before, and we should be lifelong learners, right, where we're learning, you know, obviously the gospel is the gospel, you preach the gospel, you preach the points of the gospel and make sure you don't leave anything out, but at the same time, there's other ways or other verses that you might use or things like that. But if you're just learning how to preach the gospel, I would say stick to a definite plan and don't try to veer off from that plan until you know what you're doing. If you can grab your Bible and just go to all the verses by memory and just show people what the Bible says, then you're definitely experienced enough to not have the tabs in your Bible or whatever, that's when you know that you're more comfortable with doing that. I would say also in preparation before I get started with the rest of the sermon here, so take notes if you can today. If you can't, then just go back to the sermon again and listen at 1.5 speed or something and then just write the notes down really fast or the verses, okay? So and then I would say this, if you're new and you haven't preached the gospel before and you're just going as a silent partner or maybe you've never been before, I would encourage you to tab your Bible with the verses that it takes to get someone saved. Maybe put them in a numbered order as to where you go. Maybe you can buy those tabs that you can just write things on and it will help you get through it. Because if you're inexperienced and you're trying to get to the place where you're going to preach the gospel, then you should have that tabbed and ready to go because when you're under the gun, they might not see that you feel under the gun or that you're nervous, but you do know. And so if you get lost trying to find something, you're like, why can't I find it? Like you're in the Old Testament trying to find Romans or something. It could just, sometimes all those seconds or minutes do count because you are kind of under a clock. I'm not, you know, if someone's just there and relaxed and they're just like, yeah, just give it to me. And it's like some, you know, you're going to run into different situations, but if it's like a 15 year old child or something like that, their capacity to focus on things isn't as long as an adult. So we just need to learn the nuances and sometimes it just takes crashing and burning and failure to get us better because you're like, man, maybe I should have just went through that a little more speedily. Maybe I shouldn't have given them 15 verses on why they're a sinner beforehand, you know. So anyway, let's look at verse number 15 in our text. Verse number 15, the Bible says, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. So last week I, you know, we went in Romans chapter 1 where Paul said, I'm ready to preach the gospel and that's why, you know, these two sermons are about being ready to preach the gospel. So notice what it says, you know, we're supposed to put the whole armor of God on and sometimes people forget the part, and a lot of churches forget the part about having your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. A lot of churches don't even go soul winning or what they consider soul winning is just bus ministry or something like that. And look, you know, people are getting saved on bus ministries, you know, praise God, I like that. But we should be prepared to be able to preach the gospel as a Christian to somebody that comes across our path in our daily life, at the store, at work when you're not working, or you know, just out door to door. And so this is mainly a training for door to door, but all this stuff can be applied in your personal soul winning, okay? So and it says having your feet shod, that means having your feet, your shoes put on. You've got to have your shoes on, like nobody grows soul winning barefoot, do they? I mean if you like have really super tough feet, then I guess you might be able to, but you know, God's picturing this piece of armor as having your shoes on your feet. And so when you have your shoes on, you're ready to go at a moment's notice, you're ready to go out and do things in, you know, just in everyday life, you know, most people put their shoes on before they go. You know, unless you're like in Tennessee or something, then maybe, you know, in the hills of Tennessee or you know, some place where shoes aren't plentiful, then you can, you know, go without shoes. But most people have to have their shoes on. And so God's picturing this as being prepared to preach the gospel, which would be another way for that you're ready to preach the gospel, right? So number one this morning, and if you haven't watched the instructional video that I preached last week, then please watch that before you jump into the soul winning for our church. But obviously you can always go as a silent partner, you don't have to like watch every single sermon about this. But you know, it's good to know these things, these different etiquettes that you should keep in mind when you're out soul winning. So anyway, number one, the first thing you have to present to the person that you're trying to preach the gospel to is that everybody has sinned. And this is a real easy point to get through. In most cases, 99% of the time, someone is already going to admit that they're a sinner. But you need to show them some verses. Now, you don't have to show them Romans 3.10, but you can. Romans 3.10 says, as it is written, there's none righteous, no not one. That means that nobody has their own righteousness good enough to get to heaven. Nobody's perfect, and so that's a verse you can use. But Romans 3.23 is the main verse I use, and I would recommend that you use this verse. It's for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, Romans 3.23. So everybody in this world has sinned, you know, and I like to point out the fact that I'm sinful also, because sometimes people see church people come to the door and they might think, well, that person thinks they're better than me, or that person thinks that they're not a sinner and, you know, that you're dressed nice or ladies are wearing a dress or a man's wearing a tie or whatever, they might feel a little bit intimidated. So I like to kind of put the pressure off of them right away. I say, you know, nobody's good enough to get to heaven on their own. We all come short of the glory of God, and I say, you know, have you ever sinned before? I just ask them that question. Have you ever sinned before? And then they'll usually say yes. Like I said, 99% of the time they will say yes. So this isn't a big, you don't have to just spend, you know, egregious amounts of time on this point like I'm going to right now, but this is instructional for you. So anyway, so I say, well, I've sinned too. When they admit they've sinned, I say, well, I've sinned too. You know, I've committed sin, and I usually throw my partner under the bus and say, this guy has sinned a lot, you know. So I just try to like kind of, that's my way of kind of breaking the ice with people too, because like if they kind of get a little chuckle out of that, then, you know, it kind of just makes them feel more comfortable. I don't know. Like I said, you don't have to do exactly everything I do, but that is how I get people to feel comfortable. Usually when people have like a comfortable laugh or they feel like they can kind of, you know, let their hair down in front of you, so to speak, then that is going to be helpful for you. And again, most people are going to admit very easily that they have sinned. Now another verse you can use if you just want to write this down is Ecclesiastes 7.20. It says, for there is not a just man upon the earth that doeth good and sinneth not. So I think that's a good additional verse if you want to use that verse. So if you need to kind of go down the trail a little bit more, there's nobody in this world that's just according to their own works. Nobody is a good, you know, everybody thinks that they're a good person that you go to the door for the most part. They'll usually say, well, I think that I'm a pretty good person, right? But the Bible says something different. Now, we judge who is a good person based upon like how they act in front of us, things like that. Like I think there's people that are going to hell that actually are, in man's eyes, good people, right? So I think a lot of people would say the same thing, like it's too bad that person doesn't get saved because they're a really nice person or a really good person, right? But it says, and sinneth not. So there's nobody that has no sin, there's nobody that doesn't commit sin, everybody's sin. Now, another verse is 1 John 3 verse 4, 1 John 3 verse 4, you can just write these down as like supplementary verses, 1 John 3, 4 says, Whosoever commit a sin transgresseth also the law, for sin is the transgression of the law. So if you, you know, obviously people need to understand that it's not just that you're you know, being sinful is something that's man's law, it's God's law that they've broken and they do need to understand that. So you know, you could just explain that without turning to the verse, you could just say well everybody sinned and do you know what sin is? Well sin is the transgression of God's law, it's breaking God's commandments, okay? Now number two, the second thing you have to help them understand is that hell is a literal place that the wicked dead go when they die. And they have to understand, you know, we don't have to prance around and use words that like you know, the bad place, we should be specific on what we're saying because you know, if someone's going to get offended over the gospel, they're going to get offended. So don't dance around and try to use words that they might not be offended by, okay? The word hell is in the Bible. God created hell for the devil and his angels and you know, unfortunately mankind fell and anybody that's not saved is going to go to the lake of fire eventually, which is another word for hell. So anyway, the verse I would turn to to that would be Romans 6 23. Obviously I heavily rely upon the Romans road in my gospel presentation. I think everybody should. They call it the Romans road for a reason, you know, and I think it's a pretty cool thing to call it because obviously the roads of Rome were like legendary. There's still roads that are Roman roads that are still intact today. That's how well engineered they were and we're talking over 2,000 years old some of them. So they know how to pave a road apparently in Rome, but you know, God knows how to pave the road to salvation through his word and that word is, you know, and going through the Romans road of God's word, you know, it's very well engineered. It's really a good place to take people for most of your key verses. So hell can be, so at first I only read Romans 6 23, the very first part where it says for the wages of sin is death. I don't continue forward and say but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord and there's a reason why because I come back to that verse and explain it to them more after I've showed them other stuff, but I just say for the wages of sin is death. So what we deserve is death for the sins that we commit and death, you know, anybody that truly is dead is going to hell. It's not just talking about physical death here, it's talking about eternal damnation. So obviously everybody dies once, you know, in their body, but then there's the second death. So I explained the second death, that it's the death of the soul and body in hell. So Romans 6 23 for the wages of sin is death, sometimes I'll just say like, and most of the time I'll just say well, when you work a job you expect to earn money at the end of that job, right? Those are what's called wages or have you ever heard of minimum wage? So you know, when you work you expect money, but if you sin you should expect death. That's what the Bible is teaching here, so the payment for what you've earned is death. It's not a good thing, it's a really bad thing. And then I go to Romans chapter, excuse me, Revelation chapter 20 verse 14, Revelation chapter 20 verse 14, and you can turn to these verses as we're going through it, I mean, and write them down or whatever you need to do. Revelation chapter 20 verse 14, I always say, have you ever heard, so your body dies once, but then you also have, you know, what's called the second death, have you ever heard of the second death before? And most of the time people will say no. Most of the time people will say no, but sometimes people say yes, but I think it's important to show them these verses. Revelation chapter 20 verse 14 says, and death and hell were cast into the lake of fire, this is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. And you know, me personally, I like to target the word whosoever while I'm going through my gospel presentation, if you've been with me when I've done that, I think it's very helpful to define what whosoever means right away, because whosoever, that means anybody, whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast in the lake of fire, so anyone not found in the Lamb's book of life, you know, it's a record that God keeps of people that are saved, and if you're not written in that book, you're going to the lake of fire. What is the lake of fire? Hell. So, and then obviously, Revelation chapter 20 verse 10, you could back up, like maybe they don't believe in hell, maybe they think, a lot of people say, well hell is just the place that we're living in right now. Now this is a cakewalk compared to what hell is actually going to be like. But a lot of people do believe in hell, and sometimes you might have to convince them of hell being a reality, but most of the time you don't. Most people have heard of hell or they believe in hell, at least not for them, but for other people. Like usually if you say, well do you think Adolf Hitler is in hell, you know, they're going to think the worst types of people are the only people that go to hell, but we have to convince them that you only have to be just bad enough to go to hell, you don't have to be super evil or super wicked or some kind of pedophile, you know, you don't have to be the worst kind of human to go to hell, you just have to be bad enough. You just have to commit one sin. And I let them know that hell is a punishment that lasts forever. So I define whosoever, and then I say, you know, this is a supplementary verse, the Revelation 20-10, if they understand that hell lasts forever, if they don't, then we need to explain it to them. It says, and the devil that deceived them, Revelation 20-10, the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever. So people, you know, Jehovah's Witnesses will say, well you just burn up and that's it. Or the Seventh-day Adventists think that you just burn up and that's it. That's hell, that you're just annihilated by fire and that you don't burn forever and ever. But what's the Bible say? It says, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever. So being tormented is being basically tortured for the rest of eternity, which, you know, sometimes people have a hard time wrapping their mind around that, but that's the reality of what the Bible teaches, so that's why we're out going soul wanting is so people don't have to go to the lake of fire. And you know, there's a lot of apathy today in the Christian world about soul wanting, but you know, we need to care about people. You know, there's a lot of people that are going to hell, hell hath enlarged yourself, right? So hell is a place where most people are going in reality. Because Jesus was asked, you know, are there few that be saved, and basically the way he explained it, yes, there's few that be saved. So now, that was a supplementary verse, if they don't believe in hell, you can take them to that. You can also take them to Revelation chapter seven. There's multiple verses, you can take them to Mark chapter number nine at the end of the chapter, it talks about the worm dying not and the fire not being quenched. Those are really powerful verses, Mark chapter nine at the end of the chapter there. But if, that's if they don't believe in it, and then Revelation 21 eight is another verse that I go to to help convince them that they deserve to go to hell. They deserve to go to hell. So in Revelation 21 eight it says, but the fearful and unbelieving and the abominable and murderers and whoremongers and sorcerers and idolaters. And then I kind of stop there and I say those are bad sins, aren't they? And then here's a, this is another time when, where I employ a little bit of humor, which you know, it's talking about a very bad subject. So sometimes it helps to balance them out a little bit, but it says, you know, I usually say, well, you haven't killed anybody lately, have you? Or have you killed anybody? And nobody's ever said yes, I have, so I'll keep using it until someone says that probably. But nobody's ever said yes, I have killed somebody lately. But I usually, when they say no, then I say, well, you know, good, because I would have to report you to the authorities if you did. So and then I'll just say, well, have you, are you a sorcerer, have you done magic tricks lately or something like that? And most of the time people will say, no, I haven't done these things. And it says, but it says in all liars, have you done that sin, have you lied before? And 99% of the time people are going to say, yes, they have. And then I'll say, well, I have too, I've put lots of lies, and you know, everybody, that's the most common sin that people probably do commit on this list is, you know, being a liar. So it says, all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. So where do all liars go? What does it say? Where do all liars go? They're going to go to the lake of fire which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. So anybody that's a liar, anybody that's just a sinner in general is going to go to the lake of fire. And then before I move on from this point, I want to make sure that people understand that they've sinned and that they deserve to go to hell. And a lot of times, this is the hard part is convincing them that they deserve to go. Because like I said, most men will proclaim his own goodness. Most men will say, yes, I'm a good person. They don't think that they're bad enough to go to hell. You know, and even if you easily show them that that's the truth, sometimes they fight you on it. And I'll say, well, maybe you don't think you deserve to go there, but will you acknowledge the fact that the Bible says that anybody that's sinned is going to go to hell? And so I'll let them skate with that, but I don't move on from my points until, you know, until I've proven those points. Now I do have a caveat to this right here. The exception to this would be for advanced soul winners only. If you can't get them to believe in hell, because I mean, what are you being saved from if you're not being saved from hell? That's what you're being saved for. If they don't get this point throughout your whole presentation, then do not pray with that person. Do not lead them to the Lord because they don't believe that hell is a literal fiery hell that they're going to have to go to for all eternity. I mean, because what else are they being saved from? I mean, that wouldn't even make sense. Yeah, I know, I know that hell, I don't believe hell is a real place, I'm going to believe in Jesus though. It's like, it just, one goes with the other. You can't just separate those things because it says whosoever is not found written in the book of life is cast like a fire. That means anybody. So I, if you're a new soul winner or you just like to stick to your plan, I would say do that. Now, some advanced soul winners might come back to that point, but it's usually after they've showed that Jesus went to hell for three days and three nights in the Bible. So I don't think that you have to go to that verse, but it would be especially useful to show that he did go to, you know, because he said he was going to be three days, three nights in the heart of the earth, the heart of the earth is the middle of the earth, right? In the middle of the earth there's fiery magma and lava, and it's a place called hell, it's a holding tank for souls of those that have gone, and, you know, and I'll get to that here in just a minute, but I just want to, you know, if you need to move on and then you can show them that Jesus' soul was in hell but it was not left there, then you can, you know, then that might help them to be convinced of hell also. So that would be the only time I would say don't, you know, that you could move on, but unless they believe that, do not pray with them, okay? Now the next thing that they need to understand is that salvation is by faith alone in Jesus, salvation is by faith alone in Jesus, you must believe the gospel. What is the gospel? The fact that Jesus died, he was buried, and he rose again the third day. So when he died, where did he go? He didn't go to heaven, his soul went to hell, his body was buried in the tomb, and then the Bible says, and three days later, he resurrected from the dead. So let's turn over to, but here's the first verse I use is Romans chapter 5 verse number 8. So once people understand that they're sinners and that they are deserving hell and that if they don't get saved, that's where they're going to go, then I say, but you know, I didn't come here, this is my, something I say, I didn't come here to tell you that you're going to hell and say, have a nice day and leave, because obviously that's not good news. Hey, you're a sinner and you're going to hell, see you later. I don't say that, I mean, I say that, but I don't, you know, I do that again to ease a little bit of tension about hell, but just to make them feel comfortable, you know? And you don't have to do that, that's just what I do, but Romans 5, 8 says, but God commendeth his love toward us and that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. So I show, or I either read this or, you know, I just quote this verse, but God's showing his love toward us and that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. So even though we deserve to go to hell, even though we're sinful, God created us, he loves us, he wants us to be saved, he wants us to go to heaven, but, and the fact that he died for us. And if you want to mix that with verse number 9, it's also a good verse, it says, much more than being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. So verse 9 is good too, but I just normally just use verse 8, but I think that's a, verse 9 is a good supplementary verse if you're already there, you know, if you already turned there, it's a good one because, you know, we're justified by his blood, and justified means just as if I'd never sent. So when his blood covers our sins, that's, God, the Father looks down at a person that's saved and he sees the blood. He sees the blood of Christ, he doesn't see a sinful person, he sees someone that's justified by his son's blood, and we're saved from wrath through him, which, you know, that kind of can help you with your, the people not believing in hell thing. So now I've got some supplementaries to this, this is a longer portion here that I would, and you don't have to use all these verses, I'm just helping you try to give you some extra verses, if someone's low-hanging fruit, then you don't have to go to a bunch of supplementary verses. If someone's just like, what must I do to be saved, and you're just like, well, let me tell you, and then you're just like, boom, boom, boom, you can just show them the verses, as long as they understand that and agree with it, and they answer all the questions right and things like that, then they're easy. You know, like the Philippian jailer, what did he say, well, sirs, what must I do to be saved? And Paul says, believe in Jesus, you know, basically, so believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and we'll get to that in a minute, but 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 3 is where I preach the cross and resurrection from, 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 3, because then I'll be like, well, you know, Christ died for us, you know, how did he die for us, and then people usually know he died on the cross for all of our sins. I would say 90, a real high percentage of people already know what Jesus did so that we could go to heaven. I think, you know, most people believe or understand that that's what we believe, so I just read verse 3, it says, for I delivered unto you, unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that he was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. This is what the Bible teaches, that Jesus died for us according to the Scriptures, he was buried, he rose again. So I think that people understanding that he rose again or believing that he rose again, you know, is crucial, the fact that he died on the cross is crucial. We have to teach that part in our gospel presentation. So people need to understand that he died on the cross, all right. First Peter chapter 2 verse 24 is another good verse to use here, it says, who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree that we being dead to sins should live unto righteousness by whose stripes ye were healed. So the fact that Jesus bare our sins, the sins of the whole world, you know, in his own body on the tree, people need to understand that Jesus Christ died for everyone. He died for the whole world, we're not Calvinists, God is not a Calvinist God, he didn't just die for some people, he died for the sins of the whole world. And so 1 John 2, 2 really nails that down, also 1 John 2, 2 it says, and he is the propitiation for our sins. Now propitiation is not a word that we use a lot, but basically it means he's the appeasement to God's wrath for our sins. God was appeased by what Jesus did for us, and it says, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. So Calvinists eat that, okay, it says, the sins of the whole world, not just some people. And then obviously if you want to use Acts chapter 2 verse 31, which is talking about how Jesus was not left in hell, so, you know, when I say he arose from the dead, or when you say he rose from the dead, you can use Acts 2 verse 31. So at this church we believe the King James Bible is the word of God, it's without error, it's perfect, okay, so there wasn't just a better word coming down the line in the NIV or the NASB or something, the Bible says what it says and hell always means the same thing. Hell always means the eternal abode of the wicked dead and it's a tormenting fire forever and ever. Look what Acts 2 verse 31 says, if you turn there, it says, he seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, talking about David, that his soul was not left, what's it say there? In hell, neither his flesh did seek corruption. Now people will say, well, Abraham's bosom or whatever, is that what it says? It says in hell. So the Bible says that Jesus' soul was not left in hell, therefore where did it have to be? It had to be in hell, and hell is, you know, so I believe that, you know, Jesus' perfect life and his death, the blood he shed was the perfect sacrifice, he did everything that God the Father told him to do, but there's other verses in the Bible, even in Jonah is a picture, like a being, you know, swallowed by the whale, being in hell for three days and three nights, and then he spits Jonah up on the dry land, right? So when Jesus was in hell, some of the Psalms will talk about how he, you know, prayed and then he was able to raise from the dead, and this is what the Bible says. So remember, what does death mean? Death means that you're going to hell. Christians are called, most of the time when I talk about Christians it says that they are sleeping. Their bodies sleeping, okay, so I don't believe in soul sleep either, so don't even go there with me, but the body, our bodies are resting, and then they're going to be reunited with our souls, our soul goes straight to heaven if we're saved, and we're not unconscious up there, it's just that God's using that term to differentiate between the wicked dead and the saved people, okay? So this is, you know, and when people, when you say, well Jesus Christ went to hell and suffered there for three days and three nights, you know, he didn't deserve to go there, so like people get mad when I teach this, you know, or that I teach this doctrine, but I don't think that he's still there, folks, like why would you get mad about that? If he died for all of our sins and he was sacrificed for our sins, wouldn't it make sense that if our destination is hell, that if his soul goes to hell, he's fulfilling everything that we have to go through? It's not hotel paradise, it says hell, doesn't it? So then it says in verse 32, this Jesus hath God raised up whereof we are all witnesses, so this will also help people understand, you know, just how much Jesus did have to suffer for us. Now because he didn't deserve to be there, death could not hold him and so he rose from the dead and defeated death, he defeated the devil and he lives forevermore and he's at home with the father, next to the father, on the right hand of the throne of the father and he's waiting to come back when he comes back, when the time is appointed, just like the time appointed that he came and was born, there's going to be a time appointed where he comes back and we don't know when that time is, but God does, so anyway, the showing people that he resurrected from hell, from death, is important, it's important to nail that down. Now at this point, I would say it's very profitable to ask if they believe that Jesus is God. Do you believe that Jesus is God? Because what do the Jehovah's Witnesses believe, do they believe Jesus is God? No, they don't. And what do the Mormons believe? There's three different Gods. They believe that Jesus is a God, the Father is a God, and that the Spirit is some energizing force like Star Wars. That's what the Jehovah's Witnesses believe about the Holy Spirit, by the way, too. Which in my mind, that's blasphemy, you know, you don't want to blaspheme the Holy Ghost, but anyway, if they don't believe that, then explain to them why Jesus is God. The Trinity can be a tricky thing to just go over with someone while you're at the door, so I would just say that you need to prove that Jesus was deity, that he was the Son of God, but he wasn't just the Son of God, he is also God manifest in the flesh. The verses I would use for that is John 1, 1, of course, in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Then verse 14, and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. So the Bible says that Jesus is the Word, and so if he was in the beginning with God and he was God, then that means he's God, right? Pretty simple, the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, that's talking about Jesus. There's really no disputing that. Hebrews 1, 8 is another good one you could show him, it says, but unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever, a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Thy kingdom. So here you have God the Father saying to the Son, Thy throne, O God. So he's calling his Son God, isn't he? So 1 Timothy chapter 3, 16 is another good one, there's multiple verses you could use, but these are the ones I think are the best, 1 Timothy chapter 3 verse 16, and without controversy great is the mystery of godliness, God was manifest in the flesh. Who's that talking about? Well it's talking about Jesus. So you can show them those verses, and sometimes people don't understand, you know, but if someone believes that Jesus is God and they say that they do, then just move on, you don't have to belabor that point. So I'm belaboring all these things to you today, but I don't want you to have to belabor these points when you're out preaching the gospel unless they're absolutely necessary. It is absolutely necessary they understand they're sinful and sinners, they have to admit that they're a sinner, they have to believe that hell is a real place and that they deserve to go there, and then, you know, they have to believe in Jesus to be saved. But you know there's some supplementals that you have to put in here, I would just ask the question, do you believe that Jesus was God? If they say yes, then you're like, okay, that's the truth, okay. But now if you're dealing with the Jehovah's Witness or a former outcast Jehovah's Witness, you know, you can show them some of these verses or just people that say, well I know he's the son of God, but I don't know if he is God, and then you just show them these same verses anyways. So Jehovah's Witnesses will usually say, you know, no he's not God, and I say, well who do you think the Savior in the New Testament, who's the Savior in the New Testament? They always say Jesus, and then I take them to their famous verse where they get, you know, their doctrine of being witnesses, which is Isaiah 43, where it says, you're my witnesses saith the Lord, you know, and it talks about how he is, I don't have it memorized, I just lost it. So, but anyway, I think it's Isaiah 43, 10, where it says, you're my witnesses saith the Lord, you know, before me was no God formed, neither will it be after me, you know, there's no Savior besides me, is basically the gist of the verse. There's no Savior besides me, so how are you going to say that Jesus is the Savior in the New Testament, but Jehovah says, you know, the Lord Jehovah says that there's no Savior besides me. So if that's true, then Jesus Christ has to be Jehovah, okay? So it's pretty easy, now I mean, I've gotten some Jehovah's Witnesses saved, you know, usually they're jack Jehovah's Witnesses, like, means that they're not practicing. A lot of times, the way I convince Jehovah's Witnesses to get saved is that I say, well, you say you don't believe it, you know, you don't follow that anymore, you turned your back on it, so why don't you just stop believing the garbage that they taught you and believe what's right and true. And then usually that can set them on the course of being saved. So anyway, now, then I turn, so I know that I put some supplementals in there, but after saying that Jesus rose from hell, I would turn to John 3.16. John 3.16 is the most famous verse in the whole Bible, that will usually grab somebody's attention if you're talking to them, well, do you know what the most famous verse in the whole Bible is? Then maybe if they're kind of drifting, you can zero them back in with that. And then I go to John 3.16 and it says, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. And giving something means it's a gift, right? So Jesus Christ was a gift to mankind, basically, that, and it was His only begotten Son. So that whosoever, in other words, whosoever comes up again, and I bring their mind to that word again, whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. So I really, this verse I really kind of try to break down to people. So they need to understand that God gave His only begotten Son and that whosoever believeth in Him, that means anyone. And I always quiz them with that question, I always say, what does whosoever mean again? Anyone. Because I like to drill things into people's head while I'm preaching the gospel to them so that when I come to the very end, they know the right answers to the question. Now whether they know the right answers doesn't make them get saved necessarily, but they still know the right answers. So that whosoever believeth in Him, I said, does it say whosoever walks their neighbor's little lady across the street with her groceries, whosoever goes to church, whosoever gives money to the church, whosoever does good works, does it say any of that, does it say whosoever repents of their sins, whosoever makes Jesus the Lord of their life. You know, you can say all that stuff and then they'll say no because when you're showing people from the Bible what it says, they're looking at it and like, yeah, it says believes. Whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, that means go to hell, but have everlasting life. Now a lot of people can quote this verse when you start to say it, they go, oh yeah, I know this one, it's, you know, and so then they start to quote it, they'll quote it out of the NIV or something, but they still try to quote it, right? But then they don't understand it. See because the devil has people's minds deceived, so we have to undeceive them, we have to help them to understand that what they're believing is not true. So I just, I focus in that whosoever believeth in Him, anyone that believes can be saved and that you're not going to go to hell and that you have everlasting life. And then that's when I begin to start just drilling in believe only and everlasting life means what? It means a life that never ends, it means that you live forever, it means eternal life. So then I go to Acts 16 30 and say, and brought them out and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. So I take them to this verse and say, because you want to show them that it's not just a one trick pony in the Bible that's showing believe, and you can show them tons of verses, but I would definitely bring Acts 16 30 and 31 into it, quickly explain the Philippian jailer and then just say, what did they say? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, because that's the truth. That's all you have to do to be saved, is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, as his and thy house. And then a supplemental one would be John 6 47, verily, verily I say unto you, he that believeth on me hath everlasting life. That's pretty simple, isn't it? Whosoever believeth on me, hath everlasting life, it means you have it, right? And so again, I drill this belief and eternal life into them for the rest of my presentation. So then I go to the gift illustration, and I know that, you know, like Pastor Mendez, I think he does the gift illustration before the belief part, and that's fine. If you want to continue to do that, I have no problem with that. I think that you can, people get saved either way, right? So then the gift is something I explain. So I say, remember how I showed you that verse where it says the wages of sin is death? Then I turn back to Romans 6 23, I say, for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. There's another great verse right there to just help them and solidify them in that. So it's a gift. And then I might say, remember in John 3 16, it says that God gave his only begotten Son, he gave him as a gift. And then I say, but the gift of God is eternal life. So what is the gift? The gift is eternal life, okay? And it's through Jesus Christ our Lord. There's no other way to get it. I might even put, I didn't put this supplemental verse in there, but I think it's John 14. I think 6, I want to say, but I'm not 100% sure, but it's where it says, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me. Because people think that there's multiple ways to heaven, you have to kick that chair out from underneath them, all right? You have to knock that out from them, I am the way, the truth, and the life, and Jesus is exclusive. There's nobody else who can get into the club unless you go through him, you know, is an easy way to explain it. But anyway, so I help them understand what a gift is, okay? Gift by definition is something that you get for free or you give to somebody else for free. There's no strings attached, there's nothing that you can do to earn it, to earn a gift. Gift by definition is something you get for free or that you give to someone else for free. Now obviously someone has to pay for the gift. So at Christmas time usually you pay for other people and give them a gift, you don't usually charge them money unless you're like, you know, a very stingy person, which I've had people say, well I do have to pay for my gifts, so I quit using the Christmas thing, but anybody can understand, you can use anything to illustrate a gift, okay? I can say, well here's my, you know, say if I just take my Bible and show, and give it to you, and say you have to give me a penny for it, is that a gift? And then they might say yes, but then I correct them and say, well, if they're giving you something for it, it doesn't matter what the amount of money is, they're still giving you something for it, even though it's a good deal, it's not free. I also say, you know, first I say, if I gave you this and said you have to wash my car, would that be a gift? And most of the time they'll say no, it's not a gift, sometimes people say yes, but then you say well no, because aren't you having to work for it? So I use the washing the car thing for an illustration to show that that's working for it, salvation's not of works. So you can't pay for the gift of God, money means nothing, and then you don't have to continue to do things to stay saved, and usually I say, well if I gave you this Bible and said you have to have it read in three months, and I come back three months later and take the Bible away from you, was that a gift? And then usually they say well no, and I was like so you don't have to continue to do things to keep the gift, the gift is yours, there's no strings attached. So then I go to Ephesians chapter 2 verse 8, where it says, for by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. So you show them two verses in a row that show that salvation's a gift, and that you get it through faith, you get it through Jesus, it's not of yourselves, and I do explain, you know, what a gift is of course, but I also explain what grace is, because grace, you know, God's riches at Christ's expense is a good acronym for that, but I just say well we don't deserve to be saved, God saves us because He wants to, and we've done the required thing that allows us to be saved, right? So grace is something you don't deserve, we don't deserve to go to heaven, you know, so we're saved through, by faith, or by grace you're saved through faith, so faith is what? Believing. Faith is trusting. And so I just drill those things into their head, and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. So it's not something you can earn. And I say, I usually say this, I say who paid for the gift of salvation? Was it you? Or was it, and they always say, you know, God paid for it, or Jesus paid for it, and then that helps them understand that they didn't have any part in purchasing the gift, or doing anything to get the gift, the gift is given to you by believing in Jesus, He gives it to you the moment you believe, right? So that's pretty simple, and then it says not of works. I do spend a little bit of time on this, not of works, it's not the things, the good things that we do, lest any man should boast, it's not of works, and so you can, a supplemental verse there is Romans 4-5, because sometimes, and it's mainly adults that have a real hard time with this, maybe adults that have been, you know, to other churches that believe that, you know, it's like, I keep using the Mormons and the Jehovah's Witnesses, maybe you'll run into a bunch of them today, but they'll say it's the grace of God after everything that you can do, or something like that, that's what they actually believe. They'll say, because they'll just waste your time and mess with you, but what they really mean when they say you're saved by grace, it's after everything that you can do. So you still have to do works. Most churches teach a works-based salvation. So now there are some, you know, maybe churches that aren't Baptists that have the right salvation, or there's, you know, but they're not Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses, but there's a lot of Baptists that have the right salvation, as long as they're not adding works to that, you know, like, well, you have to repent of your sins first, that's works. Repenting of your sin takes work. Anybody that has a sin that they've never wanted to give up understands that, you know, it takes work to overcome sin. And obviously, God's help through the Spirit to overcome those sinful, you know, some sin sinful desires are never going to leave you. Whatever you had a problem with before is probably going to be something you struggle with for the rest of your life, just being honest. And so it's a good thing we don't have to give up our sins to be saved, because if we did, nobody would be saved, period. Nobody would be saved. Nobody could keep their salvation if they had to maintain it. No matter how hard you try, you're going to get up and you're going to think something stupid, which is a foolish thought, you're going to, you know, lie about something that might not be that meaningful, but it's still a lie. You know, even if your wife's like, well, do you like this dress? And you're like, yeah, it's nice. That's a lie. If you don't think it's nice, don't say, but it's hard, you know, those things, those things are hard because you don't want to hurt people's feelings or whatever, you know, whatever. But I'm just saying that, you know, nobody can give up all their sins. Nobody has ever repented from all their sins. That's a lie straight from the devil when people say you have to repent of your sins first and then believe. No. Repentance unto salvation is changing your mind about whatever it is that was taking you to hell and believing the truth, which is the gospel of Jesus Christ, that salvation is by faith alone and it's not of works. So then, so yeah, Romans 4 and 5 says, but to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. So, you know, even if you did no works, but you believe in him that justifieth the ungodly, that's Jesus, his faith is counted for righteousness. What is it saying? What you believe makes you saved. Okay. Galatians 2 16 is another good one to add to it. Galatians 2 16 says, knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ and not by the works of the law, for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. I mean, that verse is really powerful. It's a mouthful, but it's not by the works of the law, by the works of the law, no flesh shall be justified. I mean, that's pretty plain and simple, isn't it? Nothing you do is going to earn you a place in heaven, nothing. And nothing you do after believing in Jesus is going to justify you any further. You're saved by grace, period. Matthew 5 19 is another supplemental verse that's good here for the not of works because sometimes people have a hard time grasping this and, you know, kids are easy to get saved, but as an adult gets set in their ways and they've learned a bunch of garbage, it's going to be harder for them. This is a really powerful one against the works you still have, but I still believe you have to do the works. Matthew 5 19 says, whosoever, there's that word whosoever, therefore shall break one of the least commandments and teach men to do so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. So it's saying that someone can literally even teach to break God's commandments and if they're saved, they're going to be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. And it doesn't say they're not going to be in the kingdom of heaven, right? It says, but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Because there's people out there that will teach that you're not supposed, that there's certain commandments that you don't have to teach, like the ultra hyper spiritual grace people are like, yeah bro, you know, you're just living in the Old Testament, man, you know, you're, you know, it's free, we're free in Christ, bro. That doesn't mean you're free to just go off and sin and do whatever you want. I mean, you can, but there's going to be a swift hand of retribution by God when you do that. So then I go to receiving the gift. So John 1 12, there's a great verse that says, but as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. So what does God do? If you receive him, if you accept or receive that free gift that's, you know, believing in Jesus, it says he gave them the power to become the sons of God. So once you get saved, you are a son of God or a daughter of God by adoption. And then it says even to them that believe on his name. So it's not works, it's something that God gives you the power, it says God gave he, so to them gave he power to become the sons of God. So he's given us the power to become the sons of God by believing in Jesus, okay? And so that's receiving the gift and you become a son or daughter of God. Now then people, I'll say, you know, sometimes people get wrapped up in the whole works thing or not repenting of your sins or whatever, but then I just, you know, you show them Hebrews 12. If you go to Hebrews 12 verse 6 through 8, it says, for whom the Lord loveth, he chasteneth and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. So that means that everybody gets beaten that's saved, right? Every son, he scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. So that means every person that gets, that's saved gets beaten, alright? Now that beating might be, you know, you commit adultery, you get divorced. That beating might be, you know, you aren't a hard worker at work and God makes sure you get fired, you know, whereas other people can slough off and mess around at work but they don't get in trouble for it but you do because you're saved and you know you're supposed to be working hard. Things like that. So whatever it is that you're doing that's sinful, God will punish you for those things here on earth but he'll never, and I like this analogy about sons and daughters because, you know, if you're a son, God's going to treat you like a son. Now I always say like if you have a child or whatever, I ask them if they have a child if they say yes and I'm like, well, when your son doesn't clean his room, do you throw him in the oven? And nobody's going to, they're like, no, of course not. And that just helps people understand God, if you're one of God's children, he's never going to throw you in the lake of fire because you're his son, you're his child and nothing you can ever do can make you go to hell. God is not going to do that but he will beat you with many stripes. It says if you endure chastening, God dealeth with you as sons, for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if you be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, all, then you're bastards and not sons. So if you are not getting beaten and you're saved, then you're a bastard, you're not a son, so you're not really part of the family, you're illegitimate. And then, so I use this to help people understand that, you know, that a bastard is going to be without chastisement but they're going to end up going to hell later on. You know, the person that never gets saved is going to go to hell but God can't punish us in hell so he punishes us here on earth while we're here and then yet we still go to heaven. He's not going to throw us in the oven, he's not going to throw us in the fire. Then I move on to eternal security and I just, I put this in the same category as believing for my notes purposes but you can separate it to a different point if you want to. But you have to believe it's eternal, okay? There's a lot of people, even Baptist preachers or Baptist churches or other types of churches and they'll say, well they don't believe in eternal security, they're just kind of confused about that. They don't believe in eternal security, they're not saved. They're not saved. The Bible makes that very clear. Titus 1, 2 is a great verse to go to on that. It says, in hope of eternal life which God that cannot lie promised before the world began. So I always point that out that God can't lie. So what does he promise? He promised eternal life. He can't lie about it. So no matter what you do, you are still going to be saved because if God, and I always put this in front of them, I say, well say you believe in Jesus today and then later on you go out and do something very sinful, you know, if God took your salvation away from you, what would that make him? And then people don't like to call God a liar but sometimes they won't say it and I'll help them with it but a lot of time they'll say, you know, a liar because that's what it would be. If you break your promise, you're a liar. If you say that you're going to do something and don't do it, you're a liar. And so I say, see, he gave us that hope of eternal life. He's, you know, when you believe in Jesus you get the gift, what's the gift? It's eternal life. He can't lie. He promised he would do it. So God cannot take away your salvation. Then John 5.24 is a good supplemental to that and it says, Verily, verily, I say unto you that he that heareth my word and believeth on him that sent me hath everlasting life, that means you have it, and shall not come into condemnation but is past from death unto life. And then obviously John 10.27 through 29 are, those are go-to verses that, I mean, and again, when it comes to eternal life, I don't beat the horse to death after they, if they understand that the gift is eternal life, they cannot lose it no matter what they do, I move on. I don't just keep dwelling on these things. But John 10.27, my sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me and I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father which gave them me is greater than all and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. So you can't even pluck yourself out of God's hand once you get, you know, it says I give unto them eternal life. It's a gift. Eternal life is a gift. You get it from believing in Jesus. No man is able to take it out of, you can't, nobody can take you out of Jesus' hand, number one, but number two, nobody is going to be able to take you out of God's hand. God is the most powerful being in all the universe. He made everything and He's not, first of all, He promised He wouldn't take it from you. Second of all, He's saying right here, no man is able to take them out of my Father's hand. No matter what anybody else does to try to get you unsaved, no matter what anybody, what you do to try to unsave yourself, that can't happen. And I talk about this on Thursday night but, you know, these people that say, well you can give it up. What if I quit believing? What if I give it up? Well, you can't give it back because it's eternal. So you can't take your eternal life and give it away. And people go, well I knew this person that, you know, they said they were saved and they went to church all their life and then now they're an atheist. That person never believed. It's just, and probably because somebody didn't show them that you have to believe in eternal security in order to be saved. You can't just say, well I believe in Jesus and then don't believe the rest of the Gospel. It's eternal life. It means it lasts forever. So there's nothing you can do to lose it. There's nothing you can do to give back your salvation. Once you have it, it's yours. It's not like another gift. Any other gift you probably, if I gave you this pen and you gave it back to me, you can give it back to me. But once someone gives you the, once you get, Jesus gives you the gift of everlasting life, you can't ever give that back. You can't give it back. And nobody's going to quit believing. Nobody's going to quit believing unless they just aren't saved. Because obviously they never believed the truth. Judas, everybody thought he was saved. Was he saved? No, he was a devil from the beginning. The Bible says he, Jesus said he knew those that believed not. Talking about Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. So you have to help them understand that it's a gift. You can't give it back. It's eternal life. John, and if they really want to keep pressing you, this you don't go past unless they understand it. Period. 1 John 5, you can explain to them that you're calling God a liar by saying that it's not eternal life. 1 John 5 says, 5 verse 10 says, he that believeth on the son of God hath the witness in himself. He that believeth not God hath made him a liar because he believeth not the record that God gave of his son. And it says that this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life and this life is in his son. So, when you show them those verses and you already showed them Titus 1, 2 where it says he can't lie, and then it says that if you don't believe God about this subject, about eternal life, then you're calling God a liar because you don't believe the record. What's the record that God's given us eternal life? It's a gift and it's eternal life and this life is in his son. If you don't believe in Jesus, you're not going to heaven. And then, you know, if they don't, if they won't go past, if they won't, don't go any further with them if they don't accept this because they don't believe the truth. So last one here is calling upon the name of the Lord. So once, once you, and I'll call this landing the plane, okay, when you're landing the plane, you're trying to, okay, you've already gone through everything, you explain it to them, they understand everything, then you've got to land the plane. And sometimes people have a hard time with this part, landing the plane or getting them to believe and call on Jesus for salvation. So you know, you need to start, you need to at this point ask them the questions. Do you believe that you've sinned? Do you believe that hell is a real place and that you deserve to go there? Do you believe that it only takes faith to be saved and that it's eternal life? And if they say yes to all those things, then you know, and you can also like, at the beginning you should, I explained this last week, but at the beginning you should ask them what they believe it takes to go to heaven. And then this is the part where you throw it back in their face if they try to say something different. Say, well, well yeah, that's what I believed when I first, no, that's not what you said. And then you, because that's why it's important to make a mental note of what they said. Well, it's just following the golden rule. It's just keeping the Ten Commandments. It's following Jesus. Any of those works-based answers that they say, you know, you can say, well, when I first got here, you said this, remember that? And then they'll go, yeah, and say, do you, have you changed your mind about what you believe? Do you believe something different now? That's repentance. It's not falling on the ground and crying. Not everybody's going to do that. Some people are going to do that. Some people are going to cry and weep and snots all over you or whatever. They're going to have a snot-nosed confession of faith, right? But that doesn't always happen. Not everybody's emotional like that, you know, and especially men. But sometimes men cry too, you know. But you know, you throw that back in their face and say, well, this is what you said. What do you believe now? And if they say, well, I said that at the beginning and say, nah, don't let them wiggle off the hook. And then, you know, give them the scenarios of being saved by Jesus and committing bad sins or being backslidden. And I will, I didn't get to this, I didn't tell this part throughout the sermon, but you do, there's scenarios that you can give and where people, what if you, people give some bad scenarios. They're like, what if you, you know, just, you believed in Jesus and then you went out and raped and pillaged and, you know, murdered, went on a killing spree or something. It's like, don't give them extreme things like that because, you know, that, yeah. Because they, I mean, even them not being, not being saved, they're not going to feel like that's right. They're not going to, unless they're a reprobate or something, they're not going to feel like that's right. So you don't have to go to the utmost extreme when it comes to those types of things. Here's the extreme I use, and this is the one that I, I've proven that this works, is that I ask them, what if you killed yourself, would you still go to heaven if you believed in Jesus? And that's the, that's the gucher right there. That's the one that they, you know, because most people, even if they're not Catholic, they've heard this from a Catholic or heard it by word of mouth, by family tradition, whatever it is. Well no, if you kill yourself, you're not still going to go to heaven, you're going to go to hell. A lot of people will give that answer, and then you bring them back to the principles that you've already taught them and say, well, you know, did Jesus, and this is what I say, did Jesus die for some of your sins or did he die for all of them? And then they'll usually, light bulb will go off and they'll go, all of them. And then I'll say, so did he die for the sin of suicide? Yes. And sometimes people still won't get it, and then, you know, you wrap it up or whatever, but usually that's, that's my go-to example, and the reason why is because that is the most extreme example that I could use without it being weird, okay? Now my wife has like a situation that she does, but that's her own little thing that she does, like, you know, basically if you came home and you found, you know, your spouse cheating or whatever, and you killed both of them or whatever, and that's a realistic one. You know, I'm going to kill that thing, you know, I'd kill them, you know, so, but like people usually stop and think about that, but you don't have to use that example, but you don't have to use my example. But if you say, what if you just got a machine gun and you and your homies went on a killing spree and, you know, you went to the bank and you shot a teller or whatever, I just think, you know, that's just highly unlikely. It's highly unlikely, so I just, I would stay away from extreme examples about that, but they do need to understand that if they committed a really big sin, that they're still going to go to heaven. If they don't acknowledge that, then don't move forward with it. So, you know, you could use other examples like, you know, suicide or, excuse me, murder, quitting church, adultery, because sometimes people would say murder was even worse than murdering yourself or whatever. And I say, sure, you know, they'll go, well, you know, about suicide, I'll say, well, you know, the punishment from God right then is that your life is over here and you cause your family a lot of pain and trauma. And I always do caveat this point with people because, you know, people commit suicide and they might have somebody in their family that's committed suicide or, you know, and usually that is the case. And so I say, don't, you know, I'm not saying to do this or that it's right or anything, I'm just saying that if you did this in some extreme situation, would you still be saved? So I want them to understand that they're still saved no matter what they do, so, and I believe that that's the best example, but you can use other examples if you want. And then I ask them, what do you personally believe it takes to be saved? Because the Bible says out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh, right? So whatever is in your heart still, they're going to say that you could, they could give you all the right answers, folks. They can give you all the right answers, but does that mean they believe those answers? No, it means that they know what answers to tell you, but it doesn't mean they believe them, so if they don't say that they believe that, then you can still continue to try with them, but like at that point is when I would move on and just say, well, you know, thanks for taking the time to listen to me today, God bless you, have a great day, or whatever. But I would definitely try to explain it to them and say no, you know, and if they get it right, then you land the plane. The Bible says in Revelation 22 verse 17, here's a good one to supplement everything, but it's just a good verse, it says, and the spirit and bride say come, and let him that heareth say come, and let him that is athirst come, and whosoever will, let him take the water of the life freely. So that's a great verse for your whosoever, if you're using the whosoever thing, but you could use that verse and then go to Romans 10, 9, okay, that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved, and I always say, well, what does it say, you shall be or you might be, you shall be, for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation, for whosoever, verse number 13, shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved. So that's the last whosoever that I go over with them, and then I'll say this, I'll personalize it to them, I'll say, it says whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, does whosoever mean you, and then they usually say yes. And so you've taken them through the whosoever, you don't have to do that if you don't want to, but it works good, and then they understand that that means them too, you know, it personalizes it for them, and I say, well, if you called, if you wanted to talk to God, how would you do that, and they say prayer, and then I say that's true, but you know, so talking to God, calling upon His name is just talking to God, and when you're asking to be saved, that's calling upon the name of the Lord. So I invite them to call, I lead them in a prayer, and you know, calling upon the name of the Lord, like, I basically just say, you know, it's not the mere words that save you, you know, it's the fact that you believe in your heart, and you confess with your mouth, and I do have them audibly pray with me, because if they don't repeat or pray with me or whatever audibly, then I'm not going to count that person as someone that got saved. They might have got saved, they might have set it in their heart, set it in their heart to God, but you know, I personally will not count somebody that was saved unless they pray out loud. So I'm not saying that they didn't, I'm just saying that I'm not going to count them. So here's my example prayer, dear Jesus, I know I've sinned, I know I deserve hell, but I'm asking you to save me, forgive me my sin, grant me the gift of everlasting life, I'm only trusting in you, Jesus, and not my good works, amen. So you know, I would say this, your example prayer should be something short and sweet and to the point, but not some big complicated thing, where you're just like, they're having a hard time understanding what you're saying, you know, they're having a hard time repeating back what you're saying because you're number one saying it too fast, or you're just saying a bunch of, you're just saying too much, and then trying to have them repeat it. But obviously, you know, they're being saved because they're calling upon the name of the Lord, not because, you know, I mean, I've showed a ton of verses here, anyway, it says that we just one, two, three, repeat after me, that's garbage, because there's a ton of verses I've gone over with you, we're not one, two, three, repeat after me, don't pray with somebody if you don't think that they got it, you know, because I mean, you can come back and say, I got one saved, but you know, you know, in your heart that it wasn't, it might not have been legit, you know, when in doubt, don't count, you know, don't count it if you don't think that they got it, so, but I'm also not saying don't pray, if someone answers everything right, and they're, everything is good, then pray with that person and have them receive Christ, so do it the same with everyone, work, family, personal soul winning, and don't have, you don't have to dumb it down for kids, kids actually understand things a lot better than we would think they do, I don't believe in the whole dumbing it down for the kids, now you might tell a little more jokes or make it shorter or something like that, but you don't have to dumb it down for them, I've never had that experience where I just have to just get down on, you know, some crazy level, they actually understand it a lot better than most adults do, so, and then of course the Catholic ending, I got a Catholic boy saved last Saturday, and at the end I just said, hey, you realize that what I just showed you is not what your church teaches, right, and he's like, yeah, I understand, and I was like, well, try to get your parents saved and whatnot, but you can give them that ending to make sure that they understood that they're not just, like if they're Hindu, they're not just adding Jesus to their list of gods that they believe in, things like that, so, and then I, you know, I gotta be done here, but the follow up, you know, I give them a Bible and I brought these up to just show you like, I made these kits, and it has a couple DVDs in it, it's got a baptismal thing in it, it's got 25 invitations, and it's got some, a card for other languages, so, when I get someone saved, I just give them the Bible that's in here and any resources, obviously you don't have to give them all the invitations, you can just take those and refill another bag, but this is something I think, I like to use these a lot, and then it kind of, you can just, here's your follow up, get baptized, come to church, and then they've got the sword of the Lord, they've got the word of God in their hands, and they've got some information about what it means to be Baptist, they've got an information about being baptized, and then you can, you know, just like I said, remake the kit or whatever, but even if you don't do it with the kit, you can just do it with anything, you know, but explain baptism in Acts 8, 36 through 38, that you have to believe first, you know, invite them to church, you know, so just to sum everything up, you know, I just want to encourage everybody to get out there and go soul winning and apply these principles and these scriptures to your soul winning presentation, if you've never been soul winning before, if you want to learn, I would say tab your Bible up, get everything ready to go, go out as a silent partner and learn how to do it, and I definitely want the seasoned veterans to also add to their arsenal, hopefully there's some things in here that I thought that you could add, and I want you to be ready to preach the gospel, so that's why I preach these sermons so that we could be ready, we have our shoes on, our gospel armor, and we're ready to go out and preach, let's pray, Heavenly Father, we thank you Lord so much for this great church and for all the people that came to visit today, pray that you just bless the soul winning as it happens today, and just pray that you would keep us safe out there while we're soul winning, keep us safe going home tonight, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen. All right, our last song will be song number 510 in your blue hymn books, Meet Me There. Song number 510 in your blue hymn books, Meet Me There. Song 510, let's sing it out together on the first. On the happy golden shore, where the faithful part no more, where the storms of life are o'er, meet me there, where the night dissolves away into pure and perfect day, I am going home to stay, meet me there, meet me there, meet me there, where the tree of life is blooming, meet me there, when the storms of life are o'er on that happy golden shore, where the faithful part no more, meet me there, here our fondest hopes are vain, here as links are rent and twain, but in heaven no grub of pain, meet me there, by the river sparkling bright in the city of the light, I am going to start to stide, meet me there, meet me there, meet me there, where the tree of life is blooming, meet me there, when the storms of life are o'er on the happy golden shore, where the faithful part no more, meet me there, where the harps of angels ring and the blessed forever seek, in the palace of the king, meet me there, where in sweet communion blend, part with heart and friend with friend, in a world that ne'er shall end, meet me there, meet me there, meet me there, where the tree of life is blooming, meet me there, when the storms of life are o'er on the happy golden shore, where the faithful part no more, meet me there. Amen. Good scene. Brother Robert, could you close with what a prayer?
