Amen this evening we are in Romans chapter number 9 and we'll begin reading in verse number 1 where the Bible says I say the truth in Christ I lie not my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost that I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart for I could wish that myself were a curse from Christ from my brethren my kinsmen according to the flesh. Now Romans chapter number 9 interestingly enough is one of those chapters that those who would hold to a Zionist position as we would call it like to use to prove their Zionism right or even Calvinists will use something like Romans chapter 9 to prove it but the funny thing is that this is the worst scripture to use right well I would say the second to the worst because for me the worst scripture to use to prove quote unquote Zionism would be Romans chapter 11 right and we'll get into that in just a bit but Romans 9 also demolishes that okay you say well why do they use Romans chapter number 9 in order to prove their position on Zionism or that the Jews are supposedly God's chosen people well simply for the fact of what everyone does to prove a false doctrine they pull one verse or two verses out of a chapter and they base their entire theology based upon those two scriptures but the fact remains is that we need to read things in context okay not just the context of the verse prior in the verse after a verse but the chapter and also the whole book and here's the thing Romans chapter 9 coincides with Romans chapter 1, 2, 3, 4 and all the rest of the book now Romans chapter 9 goes great with Romans chapter 10 and Romans chapter 11 alright and we'll get into those chapters in the future but we're going to explain what these verses mean here when we read it now before we get into that I want you to notice that verses 1 through 3 is a very great contrast to what we saw in Romans chapter 8 okay now look at Romans 8 the latter part of Romans chapter 8 verse number 38 where the Bible says here for I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present or things to come nor height nor depth nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord now then you start in Romans chapter 9 what is in Romans chapter 9 then he says I wish I was a curse well he just got finished saying in Romans chapter 8 there's nothing that can separate us from the love of Christ right but then he says in Romans chapter number 9 I wish that could be a curse obviously knowing full well what it says in Romans chapter 8 that it's impossible to be a curse you can never lose your salvation it's something that can never be lost we can never be separated from the love of God but he's making a point here and he's showing the depth and the compassion that he has in his heart for those who are his kinsmen according to the flesh right he says I wish I could be separated from the love of God why so that Israel can be saved now go to Romans chapter number 10 because we see this also in Romans chapter 10 and in verse number 1 look what the Bible says here brethren my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved and by the way our hearts desires the same thing we don't hate Israel we hate Judaism we hate the religion of the Pharisees absolutely but I don't we don't hate Jews we would say that we have that same desire and by the way a secondary application to that is that we want those of our so-called nationality to be saved as well look I want Guatemalans to be saved but guess what I want Mexicans to be saved too I want Salvadorians to be saved I want Chinese to be saved we want everyone to be saved but there's obviously something special near and dear to us when it comes to those of our own nationality just as Paul was he says I wish that they could be saved now look we need to have the same position that Paul had as far as his heart's concerned but you know Paul didn't waste his time only going to the Jews and no one can look at Paul's life and say see his heart's desire was to reach the Jews but did he only reach the Jews no in fact he was the one who could be said that he reached all the Gentiles as well he was the one who actually obeyed the Great Commission in Matthew 28 to go into all nations but he made the the comment there he shared his heart where he said I wish that Israel could be saved and he can't be accused of hating the Jews because he tried to witness to the Jews he would go into the synagogues and try to preach the gospel and they would stone him and lead him out of the city maybe he would go into another city and if he found Jews there he would try to reason with them according to the scriptures and they would boot him out and then but you know what ultimately you can see the fruit in Paul's life that he was very successful with the Gentiles right but it says there in verse number two for I bear them record that they have a zeal of God but not according to knowledge so we see in Romans chapter number nine he opens up he says man nothing can separate us from the love of Christ but I sure do wish I could be a curse from Christ for my for my kinsmen according to the flesh I wish they could be saved you know and look Paul the Apostle was a hard-nosed preacher he's rude in speech but not in knowledge the Bible says right I mean he was rough he is the one who we quote constantly in most of the books in the New Testament are written by Paul the Apostle and he said preach the word be instant in season out of season reprove rebuke and exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine yet he shares his heart here and says but I still love my kinsmen according to the flesh I wish I could be a curse from from from Christ for their sake look at verse number four now this is very important here okay that we pay attention to what he's saying here and the reason for this because obviously we don't believe that the Jews are God's chosen people they're not we believe that all safe people are God's chosen people and there's one side of the extremist of these Zionists that believe like for instance of John Hagee right well John Hagee will say that you don't even have to witness to Jews you know they already have a covenant with God and they'll already be saved and and by the way you know a bunch of people believe that the Jews believe that I've witnessed the Jews where they've literally said yes I'm going to heaven and I said how do you know and they'll say cuz I got a covenant with God I mean as prideful and arrogant as you can say it's like I got a covenant with God you know almost like why are you asking such a stupid question you know and they believe that or maybe not all of them but the but the vast majority of Jews believe that okay so so you have the extreme side of the John Hagee who says no you don't have to witness to them okay cuz you know they're already got a coming up with God they'll be saved then you have the Baptist the compromising Baptist who want to hold on to this doctrine that the Jews are God's chosen people and but the thing is if you ask them so if the Jews died without Christ where would they go they'll tell you yeah they would go to hell and you would say well that doesn't make sense then because if the Bible says that the Lord knoweth them that are his and yet he tells those in Matthew chapter 7 depart from me ye that work iniquity I never knew you you would agree that they fall into that category so how can he say that he knows them there are his but he doesn't know them when he sends them to hell it doesn't make sense but they will tell you this well we believe that we're the children of God to save people but they are the people of God I've heard it said I mean it sounds funny but I've heard people say that because again we're the children of God but they are the people of God we're gonna we're gonna just demolish that tonight because here's the thing Romans chapter 9 deals with the fact that they are the people of God and because or excuse me that they are the people of God according to the flesh okay but in contrast to that he goes to prove that they are not the people of God because of them okay look at verse 4 says who are Israelites to whom pretend and this is their key verse if you ever ask them prove to me from the Bible that the Jews are God's chosen people they'll go Romans 9 verse 4 and only verse 9 verse 4 okay who are Israelites to whom pertaineth the adoption and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the law and the service of God and the promises there you go God's chosen people right there okay that proves it let's pray you know no we're not done now look and Romans chapter 3 in verse number 1 through 2 he kind of he kind of says the same thing because he says in verse 1 what advantage then hath the Jew or prophet is there of the circumcision much every way chiefly because that unto them were committed the oracles of God who are the fathers of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came who is over all God bless forever amen so in chapter 3 in verse number 1 and 2 it explains what it means in verse 4 and 5 in Romans chapter 9 of course they are they were the chosen people of God in the Old Testament yeah to them pertain the covenants of the brother it was given them to them obviously but does that prove that they're God's chosen people because of it because what do you do with the scriptures in the Old Testament where God said where some of the prophets said of the people that they were sons of Belial you know now we're and we're going to get into John chapter 8 where he says you're not of your of your father but you have your father the devil you know and here's the thing we say well they're the seed of Abraham well John the Baptist told them right in Matthew chapter 1 what did he say to them he says say not to say within yourselves we have father or we have Abraham to our father for God is able of these stones to raise up children to Abraham let's talk about the seed right so verse 5 says who are the fathers of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came who is over all and God bless forever amen now yes Christ came according to the flesh to Israel he come into his own but his own received them not the Bible says but does that prove that they're God's chosen people no it doesn't in fact in John chapter 1 verse number 11 we quoted it says he came into his own his own received them not but as many as received him to them gave you power to become the sons of God even to them that believe on his name which were born not of blood nor the will of flesh nor the will of man but of God so it says right there that they're not born of the blood so you know the Jews who believe they're God's chosen people because of their blood well says right there not of blood sorry pal it doesn't work that way he said you're going to turn a lot of people away on YouTube you know maybe the people who used to know you before they're going to turn it look I'm not looking to edify anybody outside of these walls right now okay I'm trying to teach the people of God and like yes maybe there's people in here who have a greater understanding of this subject than others but I'm sure there's people in here who don't have as deep of an understanding as everyone else so we're getting the same teaching here and these are the people that I want to edify in here I could care less what anybody says outside these doors okay if they listen they listen if they don't like it then then they can lump it verse 6 says as though the word of God had taken an effect for they are not all Israel which are of Israel so what do you do with the verse like that if it's telling you right there look oh yeah but there that that's that's Israel but it says right there God says they are not all Israel which are of Israel so you know what he's saying there those people who you think are Israel it's not really Israel and he uses that terminology because he knew thousands of years later people would say yeah that's Israel well they're not all Israel which are of Israel they're not real Israel and by the way the Bible talks about the Israel of God in Galatians chapter number six okay he talks about praying for them and how peace should be upon the Israel of God and they'll say well that's referring to the the physical people well no because in Jeremiah God told Jeremiah pray not for them you know don't pray for them you know and in Romans chapter 11 quoting David he was praying against them in fact he was praying that they would be blotted out of the book of life now that's rough okay you know Paul over here say man I wish I could be a curse he's like man I wish they could be a curse you know and be blotted out of the book of life how do you explain that you can't because and here's the thing this is how you explain it they're not all of Israel which are of Israel okay this is an important verse because those who hold to a Zionist position they'd be conflicted with that concept that how can they be the people of God and still go to hell well they can't that's how you answer that verse number eight says that is they which are the children of the flesh these are not the children of God but the children of the promise are counted for the seed okay now go with me if you went to Matthew chapter number three I quoted this but we're gonna we're gonna read over it Matthew chapter number three so again they'll say well you know they're the people of God because you know the flesh they're their physical descendants of Abraham but it says there they're not the children of the flesh or excuse me they which are the children of the flesh these are not the children of God okay but the children of the promise accounted for the seed Matthew chapter 3 verse 9 says think not to say within yourselves we have Abraham to our father for I say unto you that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham and now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire go to John chapter number eight so remember these people are saying with what most independent Baptist are not saying you know most independent Baptist are saying yeah they're they're they're they're they're God shows the people because they came from Abraham well the Jews right here the Pharisees in Matthew are saying you know we're from Abraham too but get what does John say no it doesn't work that way I think not to say within yourselves you have Abraham to your father okay and by the way Baptist think not to say within yourselves they have Abraham unto their father he said it to them and he's saying it to anybody else who would even think otherwise look at John chapter 8 verse 37 I know the year Abraham seed this is Jesus speaking so he's no he's obviously seen that physically they're the seed of Abraham but you seek to kill me because my word hath no place in you I speak that which I have seen with my father and you do that which he have seen with your father well hold on a second is he talking about Abraham is he talk about God who's their father they answered and said unto him Abraham is our father huh we're the seed of Abraham Abraham is our father Jesus said unto him if you're Abraham's children you would do the works of Abraham but now you seek to kill me a man that hath told you the truth which I have heard of God this did not Abraham ye do the deeds of your father then said they to him we be not born of fornication we have one father even God by the way these are the first day most of the modern the biblical modalist you know they didn't want to recognize Jesus right as being separate from the father verse 42 Jesus said unto them if God were your father ye would love me for I proceeded forth and came from God neither came I of myself but he sent me why do you not understand my speech even because he cannot hear my word ye are of your father the devil the lust of a father will you do so let me ask you a question can someone be a child of the devil because he says you have your father the devil can someone be a child of the devil and part of the people of God I mean logically let's just see this logically it's like they're the people of God but didn't Jesus say they're the sons of the devil well it's a complicated situation you know it's a mix and you know what's funny is most false teachings on the Godhead always try to mix in that there's a relationship between the devil and God the father and God the son right the Mormons did that we talked about that on Sunday they're always trying to mix all that together but look the Bible school you're teaching is here that the Jews are the sons of the devil well you can't be a son of the devil and be the people of God by the way that's blasphemous right there to say that there's I mean well you can't call them the sons of the by the way we have preachers today that are calling Christians of the devil because we preach this right here that's wicked that's wicked as hell to call a saved person who has the Holy Spirit of God living within them and call them a of the devil because we believe the replacement theology that the Bible teaches that's wicked let me take it a step further we have preachers nowadays who say this and by the way any preacher who says what I'm about to say is not saved they say that if you believe that the Jews are not God's chosen people that they lose their salvation wicked as hell to say that because I hold the position that the Jews are not God's chosen people then I would call them the devil's because Jesus called them the devil's to quote what Jesus said from John chapter 8 and you say that I lose my salvation based upon that you're wicked as hell you're not even a pastor in fact I'll take it a step further you're a devil because anybody who would call Christ the curse is Antichrist you're a devil oh you shouldn't you shouldn't say that about other pastors no we need to say it lest anybody who should ever think otherwise okay and look we're quoting the Bible here look there's false doctrines out there that it's just like not that you give false doctrines any benefit of the doubt but you would you would say okay I can see how you would twist that scripture you know they that endure into the end the same shall be saved okay let me just explain to I can see how you can get that if you only isolate that scripture but I have no idea how you can get you could lose your salvation if you don't believe the Jews are God's chosen people you're on spiritual LSD at that point you're on drugs because you can't even get that I mean not even a smidge of one verse in the Bible Kenny can't even hint towards that no that comes from your wicked heart that loves and worships the Jews and hates biblical doctrine and you love the praise of men more than the praise of God just thought I'd let that off my chest for a little bit because look people are getting kicked out of church now because they hold to that doctrine that's wicked right wicked oh you shouldn't you shouldn't say that no oh just just come on Spanish night okay you said why don't you say their names now because you guys don't even know who they are so I guess this doesn't even matter but there's Spanish pastors who are saying this and by the way they're not the only ones I mean what's that what's that dorks name on on YouTube with the big beard and me you know what what is it what husky you know it's the gift crowd these weirdos who see who say these things you say well can't you just stick to the Bible I am sticking to the Bible well look to stick to the Bible I have to talk about the things that people say against the Bible I gotta tell you what people are saying on the other side I gotta talk about these pastors who think just because they've been a pastor for years that they can just get up and say whatever they want oh but you know I've had this many years of ministry yeah it's all in vain if you're not even saying so it doesn't even matter anymore okay you're wicked as hell and look you mess with salvation you're wicked as hell okay you say I mean losing yourself a you love the Jews that much do you willing to accuse people of losing their salvation if you go against the Jews I guess Jesus wasn't a salvation then right because he spoke a lot against the Jews I guess Paul wasn't even saved then I guess David was in the wrong when he said that their name should be blotted out of the book of life may their back bend over always he said be a snare I mean read the scripture where he talks about just all the stuff that he wants to happen to the Jews they would boot him out of the Baptist churches real quick and look you can't accuse us of hating anybody other than faggots and reprobates okay you can accuse me some people say oh this place is people these people are hate group yeah we are hate group okay we hate faggots we hate false doctrine but look we I mean we saw six people say right before church so you can't accuse us of not loving everyone else right which is a bigger a bigger crowd than the reprobate crowd all right and look I was wrong on this doctrine okay but there came a point where you have to just admit that you're wrong you say well this is what the Bible says I just got to humble myself and just accept the truth for what it is and embrace it study it and just save him this is this is what the Bible says okay and then go with that no you're just saying that because the pastor no have I quoted pastor Anderson at all it's funny you quote scripture and people say you're quoting pastor Anderson look he's a man of God but I know he didn't write the Bible I revere him as a man of God he's a good friend of mine I love pastor Anderson but I'm not quoting pastor Anderson right now I quoted John chapter 8 I quoted Jesus okay the words that I speak to you they're their spirit okay and the fact of the matter is is that people going out quoting not scripture they're quoting their own opinions and they're booting people out of the church just for holding this doctrine of what the Bible says that the Jews are not God's chosen and they weren't even being contentious about it either you know and it's funny you look at the track where some of these people track record of some of these people getting kicked out of the church they're titers they're soul winners they're great people in the church they're workers but you have this small little thing of Jews not gonna be in God's chosen is like they're out of there it's wicked okay and I'm not saying every pastor is like look there's pastors who don't agree with us in regards to the Jews who don't say that okay they won't say no you're not of the devil okay because I've had people who are completely against what we talk about completely against my doctrine but they won't say that they won't go as far as saying the word of the devil to go to say the word of the devil you're taking it like you're out there now now I'm questioning your salvation at that point okay because obviously you're anything that's not of anything that doesn't fall in line what will you say look if someone comes in here and they believe the Jews are God's chosen people they're not getting booted out of the church you know they're just misinformed that's just it we're not gonna look get him out get that Jew love it that person no it's not gonna happen they just need to learn right but to boot someone out because they believe otherwise that's wicked it's not gonna happen here I go to Galatians chapter number six no no just skip that go go back to Romans chapter number nine I spent a lot of time on that way too much time but it needs to be said because this look this is being taught from the pulpits you know and look we'll take the people get kicked out of those churches amen welcome welcome the faithful word Baptist Church of El Monte California you know hey we'll take you like oh yeah you just take all the look we'll take them because we believe like they do and they believe like us okay we're not gonna take someone who gets church discipline for being a drunkard a fornicator they're involved in some sort of wickedness I don't care if they come up from the most watered down church if they believe right they're not welcomed here but the fact remains if they if they just believe like replacement if they're post-trip and they got booted out for that no there's this there's a huge problem with that you're young you don't know what you're talking about all right whatever you're the net the the next generation that you're trying to reach we're reaching them and you're losing them verse number nine the Bible says for this is the word of promise at this time will I come and Sarah shall have a son and not only this but when Rebecca also had conceived by one even by our father Isaac for the children of being not yet born neither having done any good or evil that the purpose of God according to the election might stand not of works but of him that calleth so this verses 9 through 11 is actually common portions of scripture that Calvinists like to use and get to prove Calvinism this this matter of election and in fact at my former church I booted out of Calvinists out of the church because he was a Calvinist and he this is the doctrine that he believed and you would point to Romans chapter 9 verses 9 through 11 he'd always used to say that that proves right there no it doesn't prove that okay we need to read further so go to Romans chapter 11 I'm gonna read to you again what Romans chapter 9 and verse number 11 says for the children be not yet born neither having done any good or evil that the purpose of God according to the election might stand now remember when it talks about election we got to see what the Bible means about election Romans 11 verse 5 says this even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to what the election of grace now what is the election of grace someone who is elected is someone who is called but that person who is called is someone who is saved that's what the election of grace is okay we're saved by grace through faith and that not of ourselves that is the gift of God not of works and it says verse 6 and if by grace then is no more works otherwise grace is no more grace but if it be of works then is no more grace otherwise work is no more work what then Israel have not obtained that which he seeketh for I want to know what they do with this verse I don't want to steal my thunder for Romans chapter 11 but this is a good verse for you to point to someone and say hey what about this look what it says what then Israel have not obtained that which he seeketh for but the election hath obtained it I love talking about modalism because there's so many scriptures in the New Testament even in the Old Testament especially in the New Testament where it makes a distinction between Jesus who's the son and God the father conversations they had with one another you see they want to make God to be this schizophrenic God where it's one person with a bunch of personalities and you're just talking to each other they serve a schizophrenic God but you know the New Testament teaches us there's a distinction between the two you can see the conversation between the two and I love when the Bible makes distinctions like this Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for but who has obtained it the election has so people who believe the Jews are the God's elect well you got a problem there because it says there it's making a distinction between the elect and Israel the Israel Israel that entertain it but the election has so how can you say they're the elect that the Bible just got finished saying that Israel had not obtained it you know unless you believe Paul's a schizophrenic Israel had not obtained it but the election hath obtained it and the rest were blinded the rest is referring to Israel and later on in the Bible it says that blindness in part okay hath happened unto Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in and so all Israel shall be saved and we'll read it I can't quote it verse by verse but it's saying that blindness in part has happened unto Israel who's the part the ones who didn't obtain to the election of grace okay and by the way that's what the Bible says that's what the Bible says the Israel of God the Israel of God our spiritual Israel who are saved by grace through faith okay so go back to Romans chapter 9 so here we see that's what it's talking about good look verse number let's see here verse number 12 it will set unto her the elder by the way it says called okay so it says that they were called and they would say there you go it says called now go to Romans 8 go to Romans chapter 8 verse 28 this is a famous verse and we went through this last week but it's good to know verse 28 says and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God to them who are the what called according to his purpose but it's not done for whom he did foreknow he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son that demolish his predestination that he might be the firstborn among many brethren moreover whom he did predestinate them he also called and whom he called them he also justified and whom he justified them he also glorified you see Calvinists want to take these predestination election called and and make their own definition of it you know they're predestined for salvation they're called for salvation they're elected for salvation but that's not what it's talking about at all election is the election of grace which means salvation called of those who are saved who are justified predestined are those who are predestined to be conformed to the image of his son okay those are all easily defined right there verse 12 it was said unto her the elder shall serve the younger the verse in chapter 9 verse 12 verse 13 as it is written Jacob have I loved but Esau have I hated okay so Calvinists will use this verse to say see and look all false doctrine has a little bit of truth mixed in it okay because one common common ground that we have with the Calvinists is that they also believe that God hates people you know we believe that amen but here's the difference they believe that God hated them from the womb like he's always hated them we don't believe that at all we believe obviously that there comes a point in time where people have a choice whether to to trust Christ or not once they reject Jesus Christ the Bible says in Romans chapter 1 that they become a reprobate they become a hater of God at that point they can no longer be saved and according to the Bible that God hates them but that happens later on in life it's wicked to think that potentially God if we're Calvinists that God can hate my daughter who has done nothing and by the way how can you if the Bible tells us that they have not reached the age of accountability right and they have not sinned against God of course Paul said in Romans chapter number 7 I had not known since except the law has said thou shall not covet I had not known less except the law has said thou shall not covet right and it talks about how he was alive before how can God hate someone who has not had the conscience of sins but yet he hates them for what right see there's a reason why God hates them in Romans chapter 1 it's because they hated him first it's not like well I just hate you just because I hate you it's not like a kindergarten hate I hate you you know for no reason no there's a reason behind the hatred according to the Bible okay but here we see that Jacob have I loved Esau have I hated now go to Malachi chapter number 1 you go to the beginning of the New Testament the book right before the New Testament which is in Matthew you'll find the book Malachi Malachi chapter number 1 this is actually where this quote is taken from and remember anytime it says as it is written you got to go back to where it was written right it'll kind of just it'll explain to you what that means verse number 1 says the burden of the word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi I have loved you sayeth the Lord yet you say wherein hast thou loved us was not Esau Jacob's brother saith the Lord yet I loved Jacob and I hated Esau and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness so here we see what the Bible is telling us in Romans chapter 9 that he loved Jacob but he hated Esau okay now at face value a Calvinist will take that and say yeah the people okay but obviously because this is taken from Malachi chapter 1 we have to say what does he really mean by saying I hated Esau and I love Jacob verse 3 I hated Esau and laid there his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness whereas Edom saith we are impoverished but we will return and build the desolate places thus saith the Lord of hosts they shall build but I will throw down and they shall call them the border of wickedness and the people against whom the Lord hath indignation forever and your eyes shall see and ye shall say the Lord will be magnified from the border of Israel so notice that when he refers to Edom or Esau he refers to them as what they meaning more than one person and it talks about their mountains what is it talking about it's talking about a people so it's not referring to Esau the individual it's referring to a group of people okay and you can easily say that because he says we are impoverished Esau was never impoverished in the Old Testament okay it says how it talks about they and it uses the plural form of that now go to Genesis chapter 25 Genesis chapter 25 so first and foremost I want you to notice that Esau is referred to also as Edom and we'll look as to why he refers to him as Edom but Edom became the people from which came Esau right people the nation okay Genesis 25 verse 21 says and Isaac entreated the Lord for his wife because she was barren and the Lord was entreated of him and Rebekah his wife conceived and the children struggled together within her and she said if it be so why am I thus and she went to inquire of the Lord and the Lord said unto her two nations are in thy womb now does that mean like she had like two million people in her room or whatever no obviously we could read that and say okay Jacob and Esau two nations will come forth out of them right people and the Lord said unto her two nations are in thy womb and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels and the other shall be stronger than the other people and the elder shall serve the younger keep reading it's obviously talking about Jacob and Esau but if you study the lives of Jacob and Esau and you study the events that takes place within our lives Esau never served Jacob in fact Jacob was always the one who came to Esau and said he's willing to serve him so we can clearly look by their lives and the events that take place in their lives that to say okay obviously Malachi chapter one and Romans chapter nine is not referring to the individuals who is it referring to it's referring to the people okay now for instance do we believe that Jacob loved the Lord what's another name for Jacob there's multitudes of scriptures in the Old Testament where Israel got away from God they're serving other gods did Jacob ever do that no but anybody with the brain in their head will realize that anytime the Bible talks about Israel and how it gets he got away from the Lord it's not talking about the literal person Jacob he's talking about the nation so we need to take that and by the way those who disagree with us on this doctrine would agree with what I just said they would say Israel is referring to the nation so it's not referring to the actual person Jacob okay but here's the thing they need to take that same thought and apply it to what we just saw here because because look in Romans chapter nine what is the context it's referring to saved Jews and unsaved Jews it's referring to the saved people and the people who are not of Israel so he's that's the same context that we're talking about here now go to Genesis chapter 25 this is very interesting to note Genesis chapter 25 he said why does but why is he called Edom you know well Genesis 25 verse 30 tells us why and Esau said to Jacob feed me I pray thee with the same red pottage for I am faint therefore was his name called Edom why because he was faint he was weak okay now you look at Esau Esau necessarily wasn't necessarily a weak man you know that guy was a was a hunter obviously right but there's a there's there's a correlation here now go to verse 28 of chapter 32 excuse me go to Genesis chapter 32 and go to verse 28 so eat Jacob excuse me Esau is called Edom because he was faint or weak right Genesis 32 verse 28 look what the Bible reads here and he said thy name shall be called no more Jacob but Israel for as a prince hast thou what power with God and with men and hast prevailed okay now let me tell you this let me ask you this what is another word for prevail is to overcome and what does the Bible say in first John chapter 5 verse 4 it says for whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world and this is the victor that overcometh the world even our faith who is he that overcometh the world but he that believeth that Jesus is the son of God so this is a picture of two people the faint ones are the ones who are trusting in the law okay those who are trusting in the law those who cannot save themselves those who are weak whereas those who prevail Jacob right are those who are have overcome those are saved people okay now go to um you know we'll skip that for now but you can write it down in your notes Obadiah chapter 1 verse 8 through 11 it just talks about Edom as well and it just goes into that I'll read to you from verse 16 of chapter 1 says so then it is not of him that will excuse me go back go back to Romans chapter 9 sorry Romans chapter 9 verse 14 you can write down Obadiah 1 8 to 21 it just makes the distinction once again between Jacob and Esau how they're two nations but for the sake of time we're not going to read it go to Romans chapter 9 verse 14 what shall we say then is there unrighteousness with God God forbid for he saith to Moses I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion so then it is not of him that willeth nor of him that runneth but of God that showeth mercy so though the Calvinist will use the prior verses in this verse to say see it's God who chooses God chooses to have compassion on Mark but not on not on Chad he chooses to have mercy on Alex but not on Paul but that's not what it's saying what is it saying here well if you compare scripture with scripture what does the bible say about salvation not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to his what his mercy he saved us remember in context Romans chapter 9 is talking about salvation okay verse number 17 it says for the scripture saith unto Pharaoh even for this same purpose have I raised thee up that I might show my power in thee and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy and whom he will hardeneth now this is very important okay this is what I'm about to say don't miss this because the reason he brings up Pharaoh is because if you read the story of Pharaoh the bible talks about Pharaoh hardening the heart of Pharaoh and because he hardened the heart of Pharaoh obviously Pharaoh didn't get saved okay now here in verse 18 he says he will have mercy on whom he will have mercy which are those who call upon the name of the Lord and whom he will hardeneth now go to Exodus chapter number seven we're just going to read a quick verse here in Exodus 7 and then we'll go back to Romans chapter 9 this is very important because we believe what's called the reprobate doctrine and the reprobate doctrine is a doctrine that teaches in the bible that when someone chooses to reject Christ God gives them over to a reprobate mind so God is actually the one responsible for making them as wicked as they are okay he gives them that mind to do that is what he does does that make sense he doesn't create the works that they do but he gives them the reprobate mind so yes it's God's because of God that's the reason that they're like that he's the one it says right there God gave them over it didn't say they gave themselves over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are unclean that's what a lot of people think they're the one they're like that because they gave themselves over to immorality to adultery to fornication and that's why they have these desires for the for the opposite opposite gender no it doesn't work like that the bible says that God is the one who gives them over to a reprobate mind so this is the same concept that we see with Pharaoh why because Pharaoh rejected God God is the one who actually began to harden his heart and if you look towards the end what happens God just kept hardening his heart so when Moses would go to Pharaoh God would actually harden Moses's heart and wouldn't let the people go therefore judgment came upon Pharaoh you see they were building it he was building up his sin always okay by God hardening his heart look what Exodus 7 13 says and he hardened Pharaoh's heart that he hearkened not unto them as the Lord had said so here we see clearly that is God is the one who's hardening the heart of Pharaoh now not all Jews but the vast majority of them rejected Christ and because of that God began to harden their hearts as well okay and because of that many of the Jews have become reprobates they can no longer believe and we don't have time to go into the scriptures uh where the in john where the bible teaches that he has blinded their eyes that they cannot see and their ears that they cannot hear that they should be converted and I should heal them he said but the bible says that he's the one who did that to them why because he came into his own and his own received him not they rejected the Lord well for that same reason in Romans chapter 9 that's why it's teaching this concept just as Pharaoh hardened his heart and God began to harden him he's doing the same thing with blind Israel today he's hardening their hearts if you don't believe it go witness to a Jew go to Bixby Knolls in Long Beach well they have a synagogue over there most closed people ever I mean I used to go sowing there with my father-in-law and he said these are some of the clothes most closed people ever but we got to knock on the doors we got to preach the gospel to them we never know who can get saved and we knock on the door I'm like hey do you go to church anywhere they'll go no but I go to the synagogue and I'm like okay well more important than going to the synagogue you know it's just like do you have to say it like that it's like so prideful and arrogant but their heart is hardened okay and God is hardening their heart go back to Romans chapter 9 so here we see that he's not talking about choosing people for heaven and hell okay he's given a distinction between safe people and unsafe people look at verse 19 thou wilt say then unto me why doth he yet find fault for who hath resisted his will I'll tell you who's resisted his will the Bible tells us that they are ever learning never able to come to the knowledge of the truth now as Janus and Jambres withstood Moses so do these also resist the truth men of corrupt minds reprobate concerning the faith who's resisted his will the pharaohs of this world the reprobates the people who've rejected the Lord they're the ones who've resisted as well because what is his will his will is that no man should perish right he wants all men to be saved but what do these people do they've rejected the Lord okay so he's given a distinction here and again in context it's talking about the nation of Israel okay now verse 20 we gotta we must say because we're already at the time nay but oh man who art thou that replies against God shall the thing formed to say to him that formed it why hast thou made me thus hath not the potter power over the clay of the same lump to make one vessel unto honor another unto dishonor what if God willing to show his wrath and to make his power known endured with with much long suffering the vessels of wrath fitted into destruction by the way it says a pharaoh that God did that so he can show us power okay and here's the cool thing you know why God's hardening the hearts of these faggots to show his power you know so the attention can be turned to us so we can get the gospel so people can look and say man these people are crazy they're out there preaching the gospel they're fighting against the homos you know and who's being glorified god is amen because we're not mighty right but not many mighty are called right we're not we're nothing special we're nothing strong but because because we're preaching the word of god god is being glorified and he's using these references to do it right because what group in the united states is being fought against by the homos more than more than the independent fundamental baptist the new ifb right but the fact of the matter is is that god is being glorified through it okay just as he did with pharaoh just as he did with everyone else just as he did with the jews right because the jews rejected jesus guess what the gospel into the gentiles amen verse 23 uh and that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy which he had a foreprepared to glory even us who he hath called not of the jews only but also of the gentiles now we don't have time to go into it but write down jeremiah 18 verses 1 through 10 jeremiah chapter 6 verses 28 these are the scriptures that actually reference what we just read right there now the reason it references it is romans chapter 6 says that reprobate silver shall men call them for the lord hath rejected them and is referring to israel as a nation okay the whole you know israel is not rejected i shall take the kingdom of god from you and give it to a nation bearing forth the fruits thereof he did reject them okay and if you don't think god has rejected israel even in the old testament that you haven't read jeremiah chapter 6 where he says reprobate silver shall men call them israel for the lord hath rejected them they are rejected of the lord okay now verse 25 as he saith also in oc i will call them my people which have not which were not my people and her beloved which was not beloved and he shall come to pass it in the place where it will set into them you are not my people there shall they be called the children of the living god and he said well what's who's oc well if you simply look at where this is actually taken from it's actually taken from hosea okay and you can write it down hosea chapter 1 verse number 10 is where that quote is taken from so that's hosea that that's talking about there and for the sake of time we're going again we're not going to read through it verse 27 isaias also crieth concerning israel though the number of the children of israel be as the sand of the sea a remnant shall be saved for he will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness because a short work will the lord make upon the earth and of course this is actually if you're reading isaiah chapter number 10 it talks about how god will cut short the work and i believe that what that's referring to is referring to the end times okay and it talks about in isaiah chapter number 10 it talks about it in daniel 9 and daniel 11 it talks about the consumption okay and we don't have time to talk about it because we're gonna get we'll get into bible prophecy at that point but what it's basically talking about is the wrath of god that's going to be poured on israel okay and if you want to take time to read that you can read it later if you want skip down to verse number 29 and as isaias said before except the lord of sabeoth hath left us a seed we had been at sadoma and been like into gomorrah now here's the interesting thing is and i was wrong on this because i always thought that it said lord of sabbath anybody else was like that nobody okay i'm like okay thank you all right see that in there anybody else okay but it's not lord of sabbath obviously right it's actually a reference from isaiah uh chapter number one verse number nine where it says lord of hosts okay so say say uh sabeoth actually means hosts verse verse number 30 says what shall we say then that the gentiles which followed not after righteousness have attained to righteousness even the righteousness which is a faith but israel which followed after the law of righteousness just like esau or edom the people have not attained to the law of righteousness wherefore because they sought it not by faith get this please because they signed up by faith but as it were by the works of the law for they stumbled at that stumbling stone as it is written before i lay in zion a stumbling stone and a rock of offense whose and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed and look all throughout the scriptures and here's the thing how can you think that these are the people of god when the bible actually tells us tells the people of bithynia cappadocia all those areas where peter tells them ye are a chosen generation a royal priesthood a peculiar people they're the peculiar people in the chosen generation and he's talking to non-jews but ye are a chosen generation a royal priesthood a holy nation a peculiar people and that's a quote from exodus when he was talking to the jews so if he's talking to the jews then is he contradicting himself does god have schizophrenia no what it means is that now we are the chosen generation okay why because they stumbled at the stumbling stone which is christ you see they could have been the people of god and just remain the people of god if they when christ came they would just believe on them and of course at that point they would have been no jew no jew nor gentile no jew or greek it would have just been the people of god right but now it's just like a double whammy they don't even get to they don't even get that they don't get the people of god they get in fact they get it worse they get they're the children of the devil now for rejecting christ okay what's the sermon tonight and there's a bunch of the scriptures we can't get into matthew 21 obviously explains that what's the sermon tonight the sermon is this we're spiritual israel okay and galatians chapter 6 clearly tells us that the bi and look i've always asked people this question right here why why does the bible say they're not all of israel which are of israel how do you explain that you can't other than to say well i guess those who are in israel god does not recognize as israel right they can call themselves israel all they want but but remember this the bible says he is not a jew which is one outwardly needed circumcision is that of the flesh made of hands but he is a jew which is one inwardly and circumcision is that of the heart okay and of the spirit not of the letter letters referring to the law and we just read right here in romans chapter 9 the day stumbled because they were they're trying to obtain righteousness through the law he says whose praise is not of men but of god but you know what we have today we have a bunch of men praising the jews as being the physical jews as being real jews but i don't care about that god is the one saying no hold on a second my people are the spiritual jews my people are the real israel of god amen and praise the lord for that let's pray father we thank you so much for roman chapter number nine and so much is packed into your obviously we can't get through it all in one night but i i believe we hit the major points and i believe we even hit the points that they would question us on well i think we expounded on that i think we compare scripture with scripture i know that we did and i i don't think anybody can leave the service uh without a shadow of a doubt knowing that the jews according to the flesh or israel according to the flesh they're not the people of god according to the bible according to you and uh we are the spiritual israel and i know there's christians out there who may be straddling the fence on this subject they're almost afraid to like just believe what the bible says but lord um you know without faith it is impossible to please you and we need to just take you at your word if that's what you said and that's what you said we need to believe it and thank you for not making us second class citizens i'm thankful that we're always a part of your plan to be saved even in the old testament you wanted the gentiles to be saved and thank you so much for adopting us and may we never take it for granted or be prideful because of it we understand that we're grafted in and may we not boast against the branch obviously but we obviously understand that there is a distinction between the two i pray that you bless the remainder of our evening in jesus name we pray amen
