Amen All right, we're in Matthew chapter 9 this morning look down at your Bibles at verse 14 It says then came to him the disciples of John saying why do we in the Pharisees fast off? but thy disciples fast not and Jesus said unto them can the children of the bridechamber mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken from them and then shall they fast No, man put up the piece of new cloth unto an old garment for that which is put in to fill it up Take it from the garment and the rent is made worse Neither do men put new wine into old bottles else the bottles break and the wine runneth out the bottles perish but they put new wine into new bottles and both are Preserved the time of my sermon this morning is out with the old and in with the new out with the old and in With the new now, you know as we enter a new year It's always good to evaluate the last 12 months and basically ascertain that which worked and that which did not work Right, you know look at everything that you've done whether it's your accomplishments Your goals look at relationships that you've built look at new ventures that you you know got into and ascertain Hey, was this actually beneficial to my Christian life? Was this actually helpful in my spiritual growth if it wasn't that you know what it's out with the old And in with the new, you know, it's constantly a battle to figure out. Well, what is it? Do I need in my Christian life? What is it do I need to subtract my Christian life and add to my Christian life in order to be what God wants me To be now look 2020 was a bad year for a lot of people, right? But it doesn't have to be bad in the coming years And the reason for that is because we as Christians, you know, we are under a different realm so to speak, right? You know all things work together for good to do it to them that love God to them who are the called according to His purpose and doesn't matter how many bad things happen to you in 2020 God can work out those things for good and you can become successful You can become prosperous in the coming years if you allow God to do so in your life And if you love the Lord if you keep serving God he can turn those things into prosperity and success Now when I say new in with the new I'm not referring to this CCM contemporary way of doing things, right? You know, we're not talking about new music, you know, the queer music we're not referring to new doctrines You know things that just like no one's ever preached before we're not referring to Contemporary methods of doing ministry what we're actually talking about is that which is new to Christians today, but it's just old It's timeless. It's from the Word of God. It's new and foreign to Christians today You know a lot of Christians today will say well you guys are teaching new things and you guys got new doctrines New way of doing things, but here's the truth. It's just new to them, right? Yeah, it's new to them It's not new to Christianity. What do you think? We got it from the Bible. I Don't want to get ahead of myself here Because I'm still in my introduction Now here in Matthew chapter 9 We have Jesus giving a parable of a new cloth and an old garment New wine and old bottles and it's a response to the question presented in verse 14 Look at verse 14 then came to him the disciples of John saying why do we in the Pharisees fast off? But thy disciples fast not now. Here's the thing. There's no commandment in the Bible to fast often Nor does it say we have to fast often if you study the concept of fasting in the Bible It can be done in intervals when you need something or when you when you are praying for something specific and you need a fast Sometimes it's for a day you have examples of people fasting for long periods of time But knowing the Bible tells us that that's exactly what we should do or we're not right with God if we don't fast You know, obviously fasting is important but these people are taking are going overboard and in my opinion the implication here is that it had become Customary to fast because that's what the Pharisees were teaching. If you remember the Pharisees said we fast twice in a week That's you know, they fast twice in a week. They make their twice in a week They make their face long and they're mournful and they want everyone to know how spiritual they are So they made it customary to fast often and I believe this became just the norm amongst believers So to speak in those days, so he's asking hey, how come we fast often? How come the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples don't fast at all. You know, it's your it's your modern day Hey, how come we have nurseries? How come we have Sunday school classes, but you don't how come we have bus ministry? How can we have all these children's ministries, but you don't well I'll tell you why because it's not bad to have those things and it's not sinful But you know what? It's not sinful not to have those things either Okay It had become customary. It was an old way of doing things Okay And look what it says in verse 15 Jesus said unto them can the children of the bride chamber mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken from them and then shall they fast He's basically saying why should they fast if I'm here? Right. Why should they fast for their specific needs for miracles for needs to be met? If the one who's meeting the needs is right in front of them. The Word of God was made flesh I'm dwelling among them. I can just feed them myself. I can perform the miracles myself You know if they have some ailment I can heal them of that. There's no need to fast why the bridegroom is there Understand it's pointless And then he goes into verse 16 He says no man put at the new cloth on an old garment for that which is put it in to fill it up Take it from the garment and the rent is made worse. Now. What is he referring to when he when he says this well If you think about it, you know a garment for example, if it's an old garment, it's kind of worn out it begins to form holes, you know, the the The the string or whatever the the the the clothing begins to fall apart and what you can do to kind of Fix it is put a new cloth a brand new cloth upon that hole upon that rent in order to make it better But here's the thing is that when you do that if you put a new cloth in an old garment You actually just make the old garment look older It's like this doesn't go together You know, it looks older now, you know It looked old before but now in comparison to the new cloth that's on it It looks even older and in fact because the new cloth has a lot of integrity. It's still strong You know when you move around or you kick or you run you're gonna actually tear the old garment even more because it's weak Okay, the new garment can handle that the old garment cannot so the concept here is this hey, don't put anything new Don't try to integrate the new with the old why because of the fact that it's just gonna make it worse He goes on to say verse 17 neither do men put new wine into old bottles Else the bottles break and the wine runneth out and the bottles perish but they put new wine into new bottles and both are preserved now What he's basically saying is this why am I going to integrate? That which I teach to my disciples and mix it in with what the Pharisees are teaching their disciples They don't go together I'm not gonna mix my new way of doing things With the way the Pharisees do things of old you have heard that has been said of them of old Well, you know that's referring to the Pharisees And he said look, I'm not gonna put my new cloth Which is has integrity is strong is new with something that's old and ready to vanish away Okay. Now let's look at the parallel chapter in this go to Luke chapter number five If you would Luke chapter five, you can't fix an old way if it's based on man's commandments and not on the Bible We can't improve upon something that was never founded in the Bible. Okay? Why well, let me show you I'm gonna reach you from Mark chapter 2 you're in Luke chapter 5 It says in Mark chapter 2 verse 21 No, man Also, so with a piece of new cloth on an old garment else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old And the rent is made worse and no man putteth new wine into old bottles as else the new wine Doth burst old bottles and the wine is spilled and the bottles will be marred but new wine must be put into new Bottles now, why did Jesus not want to mix the new with the old look at Luke chapter 5 verse 36 And he spake also a parable unto them No, man, put it the new piece of she put a piece of new garment upon an old if otherwise Then both the new maketh a rent and the piece that was taken out of the new Agreeeth not with the old. So why is it that he couldn't mix the new with the old because they don't agree The way the Pharisees were doing things was not an agreement with the way God was doing things That's why you can't mix them because they're contradictory one toward another they contradict themselves The Pharisees were not going according to the Bible. They were actually adhering to the traditions of their fathers Okay, the oral tradition also known as the Talmud. All right And then he goes on to say no man putteth new wine into old bottles Else the new one will burst the bottles and be spilled and the bottles shall perish but new wine Must be put into new bottles and both are preserved. No man also having drunk old wine Straightway desire at the new for he saith the old is better. I mean how many times have you heard that? Oh, we don't want nothing to do with this new IFB and the way they do things in a new manner in which they operate their Churches the old is better. But hold on a second. The old that you're referring to is not actually based upon biblical principles right Now some of it is some of what the old IFB was Solanine King James only separation that was based upon the Bible and you know what they want to cling to that but not be strong on It and rather, you know just promote that which is new according to the Bible But old according to them, okay But we that doesn't agree now The New Covenant doesn't agree with the Pharisaical manner way of doing things go to Hebrew chapter 9 if you would Hebrew chapter number 9 Now what this particularly referring to is the old and the New Covenant Which is also known as the Old and New Testament obviously the Old Testament had Various laws of meats drinks and diverse washings cardinal ordinances And in fact, let's read that Hebrew chapter 9 verse number 10 says which stood referring to an old covenant only in meats and drinks and diverse washings and cardinal ordinances imposed on them until the time of Reformation so what is he saying? Hey the observance of the Sabbath the observance of the of the new moon and the days weeks and months and the Sacrifices these things are done away with and if you try to implement those in the New Testament, they don't agree And in fact, if you try to integrate both, what is the new gonna do? It's gonna rend the old You said why do you rip on the Sabbath because we're renting it Because you're trying to mix the Sabbath with New Testament teaching and you know what happens when you try to sew those two together The New Covenant rends and rips the old one the old way of doing things of the keeping of the Sabbath and of the Sacrifices when you have these Judaizers who want to come in and say you got to blow the horn You got to keep the Sabbath. You got to honor the Sabbath day. You got to observe the new moon You got to do the sac you got to do all these things that meets drinks and divers washings What do we do in the New Covenant? We rip it We rend it why because it doesn't agree Okay. Okay. Look at chapter 8 if you would By the way, this is why saying they're not gonna fast while the bridegroom is there because the bridegroom has not yet been taken away So when he's taken away this is ushering in what the Bible refers to as that time of Reformation when things are made new You know a lot of old-time preachers are against this thing of being new Like new this, you know, I reject the new it's all about the old paths. Hold on a second Aren't you it like a New Testament Christian? Don't you believe in the New Testament doesn't the Bible say of Jesus that he is a mediator of a better covenant Which is established upon better promises referring to that New Testament Hello Aren't you made new? Old things are passed away behold all things are become new I Mean we can do a word study on the term new in the Bible and just completely obliterate that Nonsensical opinion to say well, we just got to reject the new and just stick with the old Yeah, but what if you know, okay, so stick to like the old serpent We can play that game all you want It's nonsense folks Verse 6 of Hebrews 8 says but now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry By how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant which is established upon better promises We are in the better Testament folks And what's interesting is that old IFP preachers they want to stick to the old covenant still Say that the Jews are God's chosen people and say that they still have that old covenant. It's like folks. We got a new game It's called the New Covenant's called the New Testament and according to God it's better For if the first covenant had been faultless then should no place have been sought for the second look at verse 13 and That he saith a new covenant. He hath made the first old Now that which decayeth and waxeth old like a garment right? It's ready to vanish away So the old covenant can be compared to like an old garment that is decaying and ready to vanish away It's waxing old. It's tearing apart. It's just gonna disappear. It's time to throw it in the trash It's time to give it to the to the second hand store. It's time to donate your clothes and get rid of them Right. Why cuz it's old. I mean have you ever had a dress shirt, you know where it's just like you washed it You bleached it so many times you kind of could see through it now There's like spots where it's just like, okay You're not supposed to wear a red shirt under a white dress shirt son. Okay, you know No one laughs because some of the guys do that here. So That's a plug Hey, it's out with the old and in with the new Out with the old covenant in with the new now now here's the thing when it comes to the old covenant There were certain things in the old covenant That were integrated into the new which is what God's moral law But here's the difference that moral law existed prior to the establishment of the old covenant So murder was wrong Before the old covenant was established Stealing adultery all of these things were wrong prior to the establishment of the old covenant Therefore it's established even after the old covenant is vanished away Okay, plain and simple out with the old in with the new you see the Pharisees wanted to stick to their old way of doing Things and they wanted to do it in the name of Moses, right? Oh, we believe Moses Do you really because you don't do anything that Moses tells you to do? They want to use Moses as their proof text of yeah, we're following him But when you look at what Moses believed and what the Pharisees believed their complete polar opposites Right, if you would have believed Moses you would have believed me. He wrote of me said Jesus beginning at Moses and all the prophets he expounded unto them and all the scriptures the things concerning himself and Yet they rejected Jesus Christ why because they can say they believe Moses all they want they can say they're Baptist all they want They can say they're fundamental all they want But when you actually scrutinize what they actually believe it's actually polar opposite to what the Bible says You know, they honor God with their lips, but their heart is far from them They pay lip service to being an independent fundamental Baptist They pay lip service to believing the laws of Moses But when it comes down to it when you actually scrutinize what they actually believe it's polar opposite. Okay? It's out with the old and in with the new now, how do we apply this today? Well, it's important that we capture the spirit of this law You know, obviously the main application to this or the main interpretation is referring to the old and the New Covenant But you know what throughout the Bible we see that this is applicable in all different areas of life We see that God Constantly replaces the old with the new He constantly replaces people Nations Kings you name it he'll replace it You'll do it why because God does not respect our people that's why and when people cross a line where they begin to Disobey God's Word they begin to teach false doctrine They begin to delve into the realm of heresy at that point. God says alright, no problem. I'm replacing you But you know what people out there want to say well No the Jews are still God's chosen people even if they serve false gods and they hate Jesus Christ and they spit on the ground when Jesus name is mentioned There's still he's still what are you talking about? They've been replaced They have breached that covenant that God made with them and for that reason God has replaced them He told them that the kingdom of God shall be taken from you and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof That's called replacement That means you're fired That means I'm getting a new employee who actually put in the work to bring forth the fruits thereof Who is that all believers? It's out with the old and in with the new we see this concept played out throughout the Word of God And I'm gonna give you a couple examples Today and how we can apply it to our lives now go to Matthew chapter 5 if you would Matthew chapter 5 I've already mentioned this but I'm gonna hit on this a little more, you know when it comes to this concept We should have this attitude this perspective that it's out with the old doctrine and in with the new now When we talk about new doctrine or people call it new doctrine as I mentioned it's not new as in it's never been preached before It's just foreign to Christians today because they have been duped into thinking and believing That their way of thinking has always been the norm What am I talking about? How about the post? How about the preacher relation rapture? Posture but it was obviously is like a new doctrine to them. But to them the preacher rapture has always been taught How about Zionism? How about dispensationalism you ask any old independent fundamental Baptist? They said this is what we always believe brother This is the old paths brother But here's the thing. What do you mean like old like 1800s old? I Know that's like old and in regards to like the way we live but that's not very old that's actually considered new Because my doctrine if you want to talk about years is actually older than yours because mine was actually taught in the Bible Dispensationalism is a new doctrine. Okay Look at Matthew 5 verse 43. Ye have heard that hath been said thou shalt love thy neighbor and hate thine enemy now Let me just tell you this you will not find that in the Bible at all No More in the Bible doesn't say love your enemy or excuse me, love your neighbor and hate your enemy You're not gonna find that this is the only place you'll find it. But God didn't teach this Hold on a second says you have heard that has been said. Yeah, but by who? by the Pharisees But I say to you love your enemies bless them that curse you do good to them that hate you Pray from them which despitefully use you and persecute you that you may be the children of your father Which is in heaven for he maketh his son to rise on the evil and on the good and sendeth rain on the just And on the unjust so what is Jesus addressing here this common teaching that you should love your neighbor and Hate your enemy and according to them who were the enemies Samaritans? Gentiles The ones teaching this were the Pharisaical Jews who adhered to the Talmud and folks if you don't believe me just do a Casual study of the Talmud you'll see that it's broken up into three parts Jewish supremacy hatred towards the goyems us and Blasphemies against Jesus Christ. That's what the Talmud is. I just saved you a whole lot of studying. That's what it is You can break it up into three categories. It's Jewish supremacy. It's hatred towards the goyems They literally have laws on how to hate the goyems How to hate the Gentiles? Now when they say love your love your neighbor and hate your enemy, this is what it's for right here Is this what the Bible teaches? No But you know what Jews in this day even believing Jews Were so just filled with this doctrine that they carried it out in their day-to-day life This is when why when Jesus was out walking with his disciples and you know There's Gentile women who wanted to touch his garment or wanted to be healed by him. They're like trying to push them away They're like surprising he's talking to a Samaritan woman Why because of the fact that it was cultivated in them to not love their enemies so-called. Okay It was an old teaching but it was not a biblical teaching Now John 13 verse 34 says this a new commandment Give I unto you So if you and people out there like oh, you know, we're against these new teachings. Hold on a second Jesus said a new commandment I give unto you What does that mean? He's teaching something new That you love one another's I have loved you They also love one another by this shall all men know that you are my disciples if you have loved one another now Let me ask you this, you know the Jesus that God teach to love your enemies in the Old Testament Yeah So when he's saying love your enemies in Matthew chapter 5 was this like teaching that's just never been heard of It was just new to who the Jews It's old This was taught even in the Old Testament It was new it was a new commandment to them because they were so infiltrated by these Pharisees The day oh man, what do you mean love the Samaritans when the world you're you're you're you're eating with sinners and with harlots And all these things like when the world's going on here Jesus. Yeah, because you think your old way of doing things is the right way when it's not You say that what I'm doing is new when it's not Okay old doctrines like Zionism the pre-tribulation rapture and Dispensationalism are actually new doctrines that have infiltrated churches and have caused people to think. Oh, yeah Well, that's what the Bible teaches and don't you hate this phrase. I just believe the Bible brother as they're teaching false doctrine What I just believe what the Bible says Brother, you know Jesus didn't go to hell brother. I just believe what the Bible says It's like so you don't believe the Bible Because what you're teaching and what the Bible says are polar opposites and look folks you can say that phrase all you want It doesn't make your life the truth You can repeat that lie all you want to yourself the only person you're deceiving is yourself The rest of us you just are laughing stock So out with the old doctrine in with the new and you know, what aren't our type of church There's certain doctrines that we emphasize do we not when it comes to the essential doctrines once saved always saved easy believism When it comes to secondary doctrines, yeah, we reject Zionism and we promote replacement theology We reject the pre-tribulation fraud and we promote the posterior pre-wrath rapture Why because it's what the Bible teaches and you know why we double down on those doctrines because for years Independent fundamental Baptist who's supposed to be the spearhead the head of the spear Leading this whole thing has been teaching those doctrines and fighting against our type of doctrine So now we have to come back and say no this is wrong out with the old in with the new Go to Exodus chapter 32 Exodus chapter 32 So it's out with old doctrine in with new doctrine that we obviously know is not new it's just new to them But not only that let me talk about this out with the old leadership in with the new Yeah out with the old leadership in With the new folks when you study the Bible doesn't matter how old someone was God will replace them like that If they cross the line he replaced that leader and said you're done and sometimes God was rude about it Like when he replaced Moses with Joshua He Didn't he Moses put in all this work To get the children to the promised land and then God says you can't go Because you disobeyed me and in fact go at the top of that mountain and look at what you could have had That's what he told him He says go on the top of the mountain and go look at what you could have had But because you disobeyed me you're not gonna go there. I Mean that All this I worked for for 40 years and I'm not gonna get it Now obviously he got something better because he died and he went to heaven to be with the Lord. Yeah, okay But here's the thing, you know God has no respect for people. He did that to Moses who was like his friend Because God is not a respecter of people and look folks we see this throughout the Bible that God will constantly replace a leader Remove influence from that leader if they cross the line and he has no problem replacing it with someone new No problem. He's been doing it for centuries Folks we are We're taking the mantle and the garment of the previous generations leaders Who have dropped the ball? It's like a Joshua and Moses type of a thing Let me give you an example of this look at Exodus chapter 32 and verse number one Let's talk about Aaron for him for a minute, okay Look at verse number one And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mouth The people gathered themselves together into Aaron and said it's him up make us gods Which shall go before us for as this Moses the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt We want not what has become of him. So what's going on here? Well, Aaron is kind of like the assistant pastor to Moses So that means that when Moses is gone Aaron's in charge So Aaron needs to lead the way Moses led, right And when the people get out of whack they get off kilter to go get a little caddy wampus Aaron is supposed to put him in check and say no we're not doing this And by the way, who's the one who came up with this worshiping of new idols put him to death That's what he should have done Okay, because they're like Oh make us gods Moses left. We don't know what's become of him. Let's get into idolatry Verse 2 and Aaron said unto them. Did he say? You're gonna die Wait till Moses comes down. Let me take some names real quick. Who is that? Was that you okay? I'm gonna report you to the to the leader once he comes down no break off the golden earrings which are in the ears of your wives and of your sons and of your daughters and bring them unto me and all the people break off the golden earrings which were in their ears and brought them unto Aaron and he received them at their hand and refashioned it with a graving tool after he had made it a golden calf and they said these be thy God so Israel which brought The up out of the land of Egypt and when Aaron saw it He built an altar before it and Aaron made proclamation and said tomorrow's the feast of the Lord What is he trying to do integrate the new with the old? Because this was new to the Israelites, but worshiping God is not a new thing Something has always been done What's new is their worshipping of golden calves that they picked up from Egypt But what is Aaron doing? He's trying to integrate both They make a golden calf. They fashion it and then what does Aaron say tomorrow? We shall worship the Lord There's a feast unto the Lord trying to worship God with an idol wicked. What does this call today? Compromise? When leaders compromise Look what it goes on to say and they rose up early on the marver six and offered burnt offerings and brought peace offerings the people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play and The Lord said unto Moses get go get thee down For thy people which thou brought us out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them They have made them a molten calf and have worshiped and have sacrificed their unto and said these be thy gods or Israel Which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt and the Lord said unto Moses I have seen this people and behold it is a stiffneck people Look what he says here in verse number 10, okay Now therefore let me alone that my wrath may wax hot against them And then I might consume them and I will make a via great nation. What is he saying? I'll replace these people like this Like he's gonna make another nation out of Moses folks he can make a nation out of rocks He could raise up children from the stones if you wanted to So he's just like I'm done with these people these millions of people. I'm done with them Let me just consume them in a moment. I know how to do this. I Did it to Sodom and Gomorrah, it's real simple and then I'll make of you a great nation What is he saying out with the old then with the new? Now Moses obviously, you know Prayed on their behalf and he was merciful unto them look at verse 21 Moses said unto Aaron what did this people unto thee that thou has brought so great a sin upon them And Aaron said let not the anger of my lord wax hot Thou knewest the people that they sit are set on mischief for they said unto me make us gods We shall go before us for us for this Moses the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt We will not what has become of him and I said unto him whosoever hath any gold let him break it off So they gave it me then I cast into the fire and there came out this calf. I Don't know Where'd this thing come from I don't know I just I took the gold and I threw it in the fire and boom Drive through idolatry No, what it is there is you're just a weak leader you capitulated to the pressure of the people and you're a weak leader You didn't stand up to the Israelites and say no, I'm not doing this. This is wicked We're gonna serve God us from me in my house is for us in our nation. We shall serve the Lord Doesn't matter what anybody thinks and look if everyone was against him even then he you know, I'm Aaron should have done Well, I'm not partaking in this Doesn't matter how much people you try to recruit to your false way of believing. It's still wrong Now what is this like today? What's like manly Perry and I'm sorry. Look if you're a visitor today, you have no idea what I'm talking about Just sit back and enjoy the ride. Okay Manly Perry is the so-called independent fundamental Baptist who's teaching damnable heresy He's teaching that God did not die that you don't burn in hell teaching all manner of wickedness Okay, he's getting called out by us the new IFB. So what does he do? He tries to recruit pastors of the old IFB to agree with him in order to gain credibility So he thinks by recruiting Bob Gray jr That somehow that's gonna normalize his teaching You know Bob Gray jr. And his realm and his camp. He has credibility So he's trying to leech off the credibility of Bob Gray jr. To agree with him so that it could just normalize his heresy Now here's the thing Bob Gray jr. Agrees with them and guess what? Bob Gray jr. Is wrong He's wrong How can you say that of just like an old-time preacher folks? How did God say to Moses you're done? You know why because this is it's a matter of principle folks Doesn't matter how old you are It doesn't matter how long you've been in the game for it doesn't alone doesn't matter how long you've been a pastor for if you cross The line and start teaching wicked doctrine you're getting called out for it God is no respecter people. The truth is no respecter of people And you can recruit the multitude if you want You can recruit all of Israel to agree with you if you want. It's still wrong Because why because God and us we make the majority And doesn't matter if the whole world is against what the Bible says it still makes God true and every man a liar So go ahead recruit everyone you want recruit Aaron the weak leader Recruit, you know all of the leaders of the tribes for your cause it doesn't make worshiping the devil, right? It doesn't make teaching false doctrine right go and make your stupid podcast Where they literally get on a podcast and slander me Bob Gray jr. Folks Who is like a hero to me? I love and look I still love him to this day and let me just go go on public with this I Love Bob Gray jr. And I respected the man. He once used to be But it ain't like that no more You know, oh that's so ungrateful. Oh, so I should just believe his false doctrine Also, I should just capitulate to that and just like believe everything that he's teaching and agree with manly Perry. No folks That's like zero integrity. I hold fast to my integrity Not like these old I have beers that oh once you know These people start coming out and attacking you and calling you out for your false doctrine You're just gonna fold and capitulate wrong and look I called Bob Gray jr What was it a week ago or two weeks ago? And he told me that manly Perry lied He told me go public with this Clear my name and that's what I did And you know what I didn't record the conversation which obviously I regret doing now Because I figured Bob Gray jr. Is a man of his work. He's a man of integrity He's gonna come out and say yeah, that's what I said But you know now he's backtracking He's backtracking and he's citing he's forming an alliance with manly Perry this devil Let me just go on public to say manly Perry is a wicked devil false prophet who's gonna split hell wide open You know what it is, it's your classic Jehoshaphat and Ahab Shouldest that help the ungodly Bob Gray jr. It loved them who hate the Lord Let me just say this therefore wrath is upon thee from before the Lord because God is no respecter of people And now they want they put a podcast together Where they literally condemn us? For things that they're literally doing on that podcast And I told Bob Gray. Oh, it's funny how slander is sinful The only exception to that rule is when you guys are doing it about us Yeah You know a manly person how could these guys get on a live broadcast and call out these pastors? Oh Oh, you mean like the way you're doing it right now. Oh Thou that teaches to another teaches not thyself There's a word for that in the Bible Oh hypocrisy Oh Aaron is a compromiser. Yeah, and look folks Aaron did great works He did a lot of great words that he not he's known in the Bible. He did a lot of great works I mean he was there at the deliverance of Egypt. He fought his battles He went to war with Pharaoh. He had his glory days But unfortunately, he didn't finish his life. Well Yeah, and it's unfortunate Go to number chapter 20 Number chapter 20 and I'm not gonna I'm not gonna say that Bob Gray Jr. Is an unsaved false prophet Okay, cuz you know, manly prayer would love to get this sermon and say oh he thinks he's unsaved or some brother No, you're not safe You don't have salvation. I Believe Bob Gray is safe But here's the thing. I don't promote him. I'm not I'm no longer gonna promote him in my church I'm not endorsing him He's a weak leader and I told him that I Told him I'm disappointed in your stance weak leadership and I said, you know, I basically told them You want to side with these people and back up these people? You know and slander us You know talking about how the new IFP is contentious This is what they said, this is what Bob Gray Jr. Said He said the new IFP is contentious You know, and this is what he told him manly Perry, you know anybody this is why anybody who's post-trib They're just contentious brother. Well, that's funny. Isn't manly Perry post-trib? Oh He stayed quiet for that one and Here's this thing here's this new teaching and the new teaching is this or if you're contentious. Oh, you're not in the spirit Folks, let me just teach you something real quick Let me just tell you let me give you one of the natures of God the Bible says that God is a man of Finish it war He's a man of war It's Not a man of peace He brings peace through Jesus Christ, but you know what once you reject Jesus Christ, then he brings a sword And I don't know. Oh a sword. What is that for war? He's a man of war so, you know what he expects us to be people of war No, we're supposed to be peacemakers, yeah, that's why we go and win people to Christ that's why we go into the battlefield and Recapture souls get them saved and rescue them from the captivity of Satan To make peace to reconcile them back into God But you know when it comes to false doctrine when it comes to heretics and false prophets we make war with them You know why because the Bible says they that forsake the law praise the wicked but such as keep the law contend with them Well in the Greek contend doesn't really mean like fight it means like compromise Content means content means fight Earnestly contend for the faith. You know what if he wants to say that the new IB is contentious He meant that as something evil. I took it as a compliment stop You're making me blush You Guys are just contentious the new IP just contentious. All you guys want to do is it's fine and call people out Stop stop. Just stop. Come on Are you is this something is this is this podcast against me or for me? I mean, come on Of course we're contentious Of course, we contend for the faith because we want to keep purity in our doctrine And it's interesting one of Bob Gray Junior's tenants in his church is the purity of doctrine Well, how do you do that without contending for the faith? It's impossible, how do you keep doctrine pure in your church without calling out the false doctrine? How do you make a person healthy who has cancer without telling them do they have cancer You got to deal with the issue right How do you remove the leaven from your church without preaching against it from the pulpit No folks, we believe in purity of doctrine why because we teach it and we teach against the false doctrine Look at verse 23 of number chapter 20 And again, I do not hate Bob Gray Jr I don't hate him and look there might be my pastor friends who just Hate him or they might just dislike him I'm not gonna go down that route and I'm not saying that there is someone out there who's like that I'm just saying if it does come up I'm not going down that route unless he starts teaching damnable heresy then at that point I'm done with them And yeah, he's a rapper bit or something, but I don't believe he's teaching damnable heresy. Yeah. Yeah as far as I know He said well didn't you say you got saved under his preaching? Yeah when he was at Pacific Baptist Church He preached at a youth conference. He gave the gospel. I went down to the altar and a soul winner got me saved He planted the seed he explained the gospel I went down to the altar and someone who was there got me saved and the soul owner's name was George Pineda Who taught me about eternal security? Okay So and look I'm not gonna just completely say well I want you know I'm not even gonna remember the things he's done in the past Obviously, I'm thankful for what he's done in the past and his ministry in the past, but you know what? He's done in the future. Obviously He's become a weak leader Look at verse 23 in the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron and Mount Hor by the coast of the land of Edom saying Aaron shall be gathered unto his people for he shall not enter into the land which have given unto the children of Israel because he rebelled against my word at the waters of Meribah take Aaron and Eleazar his son and bring them up unto Mount Hor and strip Aaron of his garments and Put them on Eleazar his son and Aaron shall be gathered into his people and shall die there He didn't say hey just kindly remove the garments from him Just like hey, can I can I get that garment real quick? God kind of came to me and you're being replaced Can I get that from you? No, he's like strip him off of him Now what does his garments represent his authority his leadership because he was a priest He says this is what I want you to do. You strip Aaron of his garments and you give it to Eleazar his son What is he talking about you give it to the next generation That's what it is, right? You take the authority and the power that he had and you give it to the next generation You know who Eleazar produced a young man by the name of Phinehas son of Eleazar You know what Phinehas was he was new IFB you know why because when a Israelite, you know began to sleep with some foreigner who is an idolatrous person and took them into the tent You know God began to plague the nation People were dying. They're doing it in front of God and everyone and what does Phinehas do he grabs a javelin? He goes to the tent and he makes human shish kebab That's not politically correct pastor, I don't know is that appropriate for him to do well, you know what God said He stayed the plague for Phinehas sake because he was zealous for God's sake he says He says you know I'm not gonna destroy this nation because of this wicked sin because of this one guy right here who was politically incorrect Yeah, he shouldn't have done it that way though he should have what he should have done is waited till they were done Gone into the tent and say hey guys, this isn't right You Guys know you're not supposed to be doing this But you know just I love you guys. I love you Yes, you know I'm here for you. I'm praying for you, and you know You know it's it's sin, but you know aren't we all sinners All we all said is that what he did He said don't worry God I got this I have a javelin Two birds with one stone Two people with one javelin And God in his heel said okay, I like this guy You guys aren't gonna be plagued anymore because for his sake you know just in case anybody wanted to criticize Phinehas in Case anybody wanted to criticize the way he did things God said hey, you are actually rescued by Phinehas Because he was zealous for my sake Sounds like Phinehas was a man of war or something Sounds like his actions and his warlike mentality saved Israel Aaron was a compromiser. He did great works. He performed great miracles and look Aaron even after he committed that wicked sin still contributed to the work of God to some extent But it was at that point that his authority his power his influence began to die down It was in a decline he began to atrophy spiritually speaking You know God still used them even thereafter But probably not as much as he would have used them if he would have just you know had a backbone You understand well in like manner folks. There's pastors out there today like Bob Gray jr. Or you say you say you'd like manly parries you know many parries not even saved He's not being used of God he's being used of the devil But like Bob Gray jr. Who you know what God has already stripped them of his garments in my opinion the power is gone Now can he still contribute to the work of God absolutely I'm pretty sure he's still gonna get people saved in his church They're still gonna preach sermons and edify people and do his thing, but you know what? The garment has already been given to the next generation what generation this generation Aaron needed to be replaced And old IFP is a perfect example of that and look folks you know I Come from an old IFP Church my pastor friends come from old IFP Church and deep down inside We want to believe that there's an old IFP pastor out there. Who's just a solid person And to a certain extent I still want to believe that Because I love the old IFP. I love what they did in my life. I love the sermons that they preach and Deep down inside. I want to believe that there's someone out there Who's just solid but it might have to be some like guy in his 80s? Who's like not on the internet at all who knows nobody? Who's still preaching hard and love soul winning because look it's gone to a point where no one wants to be our friend No one does even people who were our friends even Bob Gray jr. Who specifically said brother Mejia You know if you ever need anything. I'll fly out to California For you, and then a couple days later. He's like slandering me on a podcast what in the world Unbelievable folks But it's like your it's your typical saw versus David Didn't David love saw? Even when Saul was trying to kill David David still loves all You know like I literally made a meme right before service you guys ever seen that meme of the kid He's like crying. He has like a gun And I put like as the caption like you know Bob Gray jr. Backing up manly Perry, and I put me in my sermon You know just like I got put this guy down like Destroy his doctrine right now Because it kind of saddens me that I have to do this I Stinks because I was hoping that he was like what the last of the dying breed You know I mean who's willing to say you know what I don't agree with everything they teach, but they're good, man They're soul winners. They love the Lord they preach the Bible and preach on brother No, they've gone to the extreme to that opposite of that. They're like Saul Okay Now go to Ephesians chapter 4 and we're basically done Out with the old in With the new and look guys that's why it's important that you guys get ready to become the next generation of leaders We need more men with integrity to stand up and say I'll take that garment. I'll wear that robe I'll take that responsibility. I want God's power on my life. I don't want to be a compromiser. I Want to preach the truth. I want to preach it unfiltered. I don't want to be a compromiser I want to finish strong like Paul the Apostle Because some of these guys are not finishing strong, they're finishing very weak, okay And we need a new generation to rise up and take that responsibility Because the old generation is passed away and look obviously there's people in the Old Testament who finished strong, too You know there's people in the old IFP who finished strong my father-in-law. I believe finished strong He's no longer preaching. He's incapable. He's incapacitated, but you know what? He finished strong that there could be nothing wicked said about my father-in-law He preached the right doctrine you preach hard and I'm thankful for his ministry and I'm thinking that he's the one But I can say well at least he never changed I want to keep going on about this, but uh, it's it's it's getting late. Okay Let's move on to the next point Hey out with the old and in with the new out with the old man and in with the new man Right. So getting off these heretics. Let's just talk about the flesh versus the spirit You know in 2020, you might have been a fleshly person Very carnal fleshy person you you develop bad habits sinful habits You became carnal, you know, well, you know what 2021 is around the corner out with the old and with the new Obviously, you know the flesh lusts against the spirit the spirit lusted against the flesh These are contrary the one to the other city cannot do the things that you would We're always gonna have our flesh the old man is always gonna be present But it's important that we reckon ourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal bodies They should obey in the luster of neither yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin But yield yourselves unto God as those that are alive from the dead and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God So it's important that we view 2021 as hey, i'm gonna use my members of my body for righteousness Use my feet to take me to go preach the gospel Use my ears to listen to the preaching of God's Word and not despise prophesying Use my mouth to open it boldly to make known the mysteries of the gospel Use my hands to help the feeble to help those who are in need I want to make sure that my members are used for righteousness Okay out with the old in with the new look at Ephesians 4 verse 20 says But you have not so learned Christ if so be the I've heard him and I've been taught by him as the truth is in Jesus that you put off concern in the form of conversation the old man which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts and be renewed in the spirit of your mind and then you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and True holiness. What is God saying? What is the Apostle Paul saying? He's saying hey, the Christian life is a constant battle right But the way we win this battle thus within ourselves is the fact that we need to make sure that we Conscientiously put off the old man on a daily basis and put on Jesus Christ Make not provision for the flesh Obviously, we're never gonna be sinless this side of eternity, but it could be said that we sin less as the years go by You know, we're not drunkards. We're not fornicators. We're not smoking marijuana. We're not doing wicked stuff That means that we're sinning less so to speak, you know, maybe you're besetting sin in 2020 was gossip or something Maybe it was fear. Maybe it was anxiety. Maybe it was it was covetousness. Well, you could put off the old man You know with the former lusts and put on the new man in 2021 Look folks. I want to succeed in 2021. I Think we succeeded in 2020, but things could always improve But we just got to make sure that we it's out with the old and in with the new You know, obviously we need to standardize before we what? Optimize but even after that, hey, we need to make sure that on a daily basis. We're checking ourselves Lord help me to be filled with the Spirit. I'm gonna walk in the Spirit not fulfill the lusts of the flesh How I'm gonna be a better tool and instrument for you to use on a day-to-day basis and not just in preaching the gospel as a father As a husband as an employee You know just in your regular day-to-day Responsibilities and actions Lord help me to be a vessel and to honor meet for the Masters use and prepared unto every good work But again that requires for us to put off the old man and be conscious of that. So what's the sermon this morning? Hey, it's out with the old and in with the new Discard refuse old way of doing things that doesn't line up with God's Word Discard old leaders that have just basically lost their authority in their power. Hey Discard old habits that are not benefiting you that are actually tearing you down and making you a worse person or worse Christian and in with the new amen inspire heads and I've ordered prayer father we thank you so much for your word and Lord I'm thankful for men of God and times past who have not changed and obviously there's there's very few Lord But they're out there and I'm thankful for them Lord There's always 7,000 prophets who have not bowed the need to bail and to us they may be nameless But you know who they are and we know that they exist Lord I pray that we would be counted counted worthy to be those seven thousand and two thousand twenty-one That we would be that generation like the Nehas who takes the garment from from Aaron and fulfills That responsibility is bold in the Lord and does not compromise and Lord I pray God that you'd help us to keep doctrinal purity in our church Help us to remain faithful to you to have to be men and women of integrity of honesty and not buckle under the pressure of wicked people who want to change what we believe and Pure pressure us into breaking fellowship with us or whatever threats they may bring to us Even if they threaten to take our lives Lord help us to never compromise help us to hold fast our integrity like job We love you so much. We thank you. We pray these things in Jesus name. Amen
