it it's just like false prophet false prophet but really it's a very serious issue even within the Word of God he's a very dangerous people as the Bible puts it and here the Bible says Paul obviously in his wisdom the wisdom that God had endowed unto him understood that even when he departed he wouldn't he understood that there will be coming in men who are wolves they were coming in not sparing the flock what does that mean well wolf you know feeds on flocks right physically and he's saying that spiritually these there are men out there who teach false doctrines and they're gonna come in the flock of God in the church and basically eat devour them spiritually speaking eat them up teach them false doctrine things that will cause them to get off spiritually and off doctrinally and the Bible says in verse number 30 that they will be speaking perverse things and look what it says to draw away disciples after them so we could say that these some of these people even get deceived I mean we would look at you know the Rick Warren's of this world and the Joel Steen's of this world and the John MacArthur's and the people found within their church we would say obviously they're not safe right because you can't sit a safe person can't necessarily sit under that preaching forever and ever and you know if they have the Holy Spirit of God living within them they're obviously are not gonna fall for that stuff but the Bible even says here but there will come a time when even disciples are drawn away after them now I believe that honestly if the Holy Spirit of God lives within you you'll snap out of it okay and they're just gonna be like okay obviously there's something wrong here I need to know the truth this is obviously not the truth okay but the Bible says there that even though you they'll draw disciples after them and that's what false prophets do they come in and they were there wolves in sheep's clothing coming to devour the flock of God now this morning we talked know that the sacrifices in the Old Testament was the picture of Jesus Christ coming sacrificing himself the Lamb of God who should take away the sins of the world whereas anything else other than that is the works based salvation and that's exactly what Cain was doing so he was the first person to illustrate a false gospel and we said that this we said this morning that false teachers and false prophets that's like their number one mark right there I mean if you want to make sure if you're looking on someone on YouTube or you're looking up someone on the internet and maybe they sound a little right on certain areas just find out what they believe about the gospel and they don't give that should be a red flag to you if it's not a one saved always saved eternal security salvation by believe in a believe only and and you know once they've always saved they tolerate the repent of your sins crowd in their church you know they have people in their church who believe in repent of your sins that they have to work there and they'll just say this yeah they're just a little off no it's not just a little off I mean this has to do with I mean their souls but the next one we talked about was Balaam right and Balaam loved the wages of unrighteousness as the Bible says okay Balaam was a man who basically because of his greed because the Bible talks about how they people have run greedily after the way of Balaam the there's obviously there's one side of the spectrum where people are just greedy or filthy lucre they want to drive their nice cars have their nice suits and spend all kinds of money and they're having all kinds of sexual relations with all the women in the church they're just making bank off the people they're making merchandise off of the flock of God that was that's like an extreme but then you also have your other extreme where there's people who are actually safe pastors and they become greedy a filthy lucre you see a pastor can become greedy yeah because one of the qualifications for a pastor is that they're not greedy a filthy lucre you know what that tells us someone can become greedy a filthy lucre and then and there's a lot of pastors out there who you know and what do they do how do they compromise on that they soften up the message they don't tell every the whole counsel of God they don't rebuke they don't reprove because they're afraid that someone's gonna be gonna get offended leave the church and not tithe anymore but that's not what the Bible teaches us we have to do they're going in the way of Balaam they love the wages congregants without the other pastors knowing about it you know they're like they send people to go they send people to go to the people and say hey pastor needs gas money you know okay can we can you put put in 10 bucks here 20 bucks here 30 bucks here I'm not lying this is real they'll do that what are they're greedy a filthy lucre they got in the way of Balaam and they love money and the fact remain and I I've seen Spanish pastors okay who will take personal offerings for themselves you know now obviously we're not into we don't do the the different ministries and Spanish ministries but I've seen it you know and the pastor doesn't know about it he's taking all kinds of money you know and by the way he has this guy on the side who collects the money so you can count it from him and he splits it he gives some to him for his gas money and then he puts the rest of it in the safe where it's supposed to go so it's accountable you know wicked it's wicked it's it's being covetous and greedy a filthy lucre and so you have both extremes but both are bad okay and both have gone the way of Balaam no you know we need to be as God's people people of integrity right we need to be people who don't love money yes we understand we need money we need to pay the bills but we don't compromise the message we don't try to make merchandise off of the flock of God to get money it's not that important and here's the thing if you're willing to compromise on the message so much that means you don't even have faith in God's Word that he can provide but seek ye first the kingdom of God in his righteousness and these things shall be added unto you and the dangerous thing is this is that sometimes as the Bible we're gonna look in just a little bit there's people who are creeping in unawares they're not saved they're not pastors but they come into the cloak of being some godly person they get put in a position of authority and what are they doing they just see this as a business to make perish in the gainsaying of Corey so what does it mean when it says that they perish referring to false prophets in the gainsaying of court we're to Corey perish he went straight to hell she was says about these false prophets and said they're gonna perish just like Corey did they're going to hell and in fact in God's mind they're already in hell right because they're twice dead plucked up by the flock and here's the interesting thing is is Paul he didn't just say hey look people are gonna come you know and they're just gonna not spare the flock he gave a solution he says so this is what you do and he gave you the verse before he says you need to feed the flock of God okay because there will come grievous wolves not sparing the flock so how how do you avoid that how do you keep the flock from being devoured of Satan from being devoured of these false prophets you need to feed the flock of God and look not just with candy either I like candy every once in a while you know but you can't have candy for breakfast lunch and dinner you know you need some meat you need some vegetables you need rice you need beans I can't believe I just said that because my wife knows I hate eating beans all right you need you need a balanced diet and you need to know what the Bible says but that's that falls on the responsibility of the pastor to feed the flock of God and look I think sometimes even there's pastors there are well-meaning they're sincere people right but they're not feeding the flock of God maybe just for the fact that they're just shallow in their doctrine they don't know a whole lot or whatever it may be they need to study up more but they're not feeding the flock of God so what happens there's people coming in all kinds of false prophets and they're taking people over there devouring the flock of God and I'm gonna read to you from 1st Peter chapter 5 it says feed the flock of God which is among you taking the oversight thereof not by constraint but willingly neither as being Lords over God's heritage excuse me not a filthy lucre but of a ready mind neither as being Lords over God's heritage but being in samples to the flock now I know I had you turn to first Kings 13 but hold your place there go to Ezekiel now which is we'll just stick to first King sorry let's go to first King I was gonna go off on just feeding the flock but we obviously know that we need to feed the the flock is gonna get better here but obviously there's churches that the read because we think to ourselves how can someone get caught up in something like that well sometimes it's just not necessarily the congregation's fault they're just not being fed they're not being told they're not being taught this doctrine and someone would look at our movement and say man you guys all you guys says in first Kings 13 verse 11 now there dwelt an old prophet in Bethel and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel the words which he had spoken unto the king them they told also to their father and their father said unto them what way when he for sons has seen what way the man of God went which came from Judah and I find it interesting that would provoke the man of God to even you know have an interest excuse me what provoked the old prophet to have an interest in the man of God was what his works he was like man he's doing some great works and where'd he go you know let me find out who this guy is so what caught what piqued his interest with the fact that the man of God was doing some great works keep that in mind verse 12 and their father excuse me verse 13 and he said unto his son saddle me the ass so they saddled him the ass and he rode thereon and went after the man of God and found him sitting under an oak and he said unto him art thou the man of God that came us from Judah and he said I am then he said unto him come home with me and eat bread and he said I may not return with thee nor go in with thee neither will I eat bread nor drink water with thee in this place for it was said to me by the word of the Lord thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there nor turn again to go by the way that thou came is so we see that God had given this guy specific instructions from the word of the Lord says look don't do this and this man of God he has some integrity he said even though even though the old prophet came and said come he said I can't God told me not to you know verse 17 for it was said to me by the word of the Lord thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest he said unto him I am a prophet also as our hey I'm a preacher just like you we're like the same guy man and an angel spake unto me Joseph Smith by the word of the Lord saying bring him back with thee into thine house that he may eat bread and drink water but he lied unto him so point number one he saw his works right that piqued his interest to go find out who he was but what was he important to talk about this type of false prophet 2nd Peter chapter 2 in verse 14 2nd Peter chapter 2 verse number 14 the Bible says having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin beguiling unstable souls and heart they have exercised with covetous practices cursed children so the Bible says here that they beguile unstable souls what is an unstable soul it's someone who is not work of the ministry for the edifying of the body of Christ till we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God unto a perfect man that doesn't mean sinless it means complete mature unto the measure of the statue of the fullness of Christ now what is the outcome of being that look at verse 14 says that we henceforth be no more children tossed to and fro and Bible college students within Bible College who are sincere they want to do right they want to pastor a church they want to learn the Word of God but what's the problem they have an old prophet leading them astray and they think they're doing right they think they're they're they're living for God they think they're accomplishing something but what's gonna happen they're still unstable I mean I remember when I first went to Bible College I met Bible college students who are about to graduate who didn't know squat about the Bible I mean these are people I expected to be like you know a master of Israel you know someone who knew the Word of God very well they didn't know anything you know but the fact that the matter remains is because that's not emphasized doctrine is not emphasized within Bible call and within Bible College anymore it's not now you would think a Bible College is what it's a cause that teaches the Bible right I mean Bible College you guys get that it's kind of goes together right but that's not the case anymore you know what it's you know Bible College is about it's about activities it's about fun okay I mean I've met some of the worldliest people in Bible College you ask anybody who went to a Bible College they'll tell you the same exact thing you asked brother Perry Phillips who went to house Anderson College he told me the exact same thing my father-in-law taught me my father-in-law used to say man I went to Bible College and I thought like I was gonna be like everyone's gonna be like the Apostle Paul and I'm like some carnal world the Christian he goes some of the worst people are in the Bible are in that Bible College people who don't even want to be there just just they're just paying to be there wasting their time some of the people aren't even saved I'm serious I mean my mother-in-law tells a story about you know her one of her roommates was like some drug addict heroin crackhead former whore who was still is a whore you know and she was doing drugs while she was in college how's that how you like them apples but here's the thing is the old prophet I mean the old prophet it's there they're like that because of the old prophet now obviously they had they could make their own decisions but they need an old prophet to say hey look this is not right get right with the Lord sober up don't do drugs but what happens Bible College becomes a system of money right it becomes a matter of paying the bills so what do they do they tolerate worldliness they tolerate all kinds of false doctrine because you got to think about it and I know what I'm talking about because I was a Bible college teacher okay think about this you have students from all over the country coming to this one college that is based in a local church so you have students that come from all different types of churches that believe different things so then you have the smorgasbord of doctrine being just blended into this college and what happens the people who run the colleges have to tolerate it if they're gonna pay the bills so this guy is probably repenting your sins come from a church that they teach that you got to work your way to heaven and all this garbage but what oh well they're just a little off and why do they have to say it because they got to pay the bills see it goes all back to the money you see what I'm saying you just got to follow the money trails what you have to do and it's unfortunate but you know what I believe there's Bible college students within colleges that are honest here sincere and you know what I believe in my heart that many of those Bible colleges students are just gonna join the movement soon sooner or later they're gonna just join the movement and praise God for that I mean we already have a couple in our church amen that's a good thing because look and I don't want the refuse of the Bible colleges right I don't want the reprobate silver you know that's that's there because Bruce has rejected that you know I'm not for that you know because there's people in the Bible cause they're just worldly I mean they don't they don't care about the Bible there is as lukewarm as the day is these beliefs and I laid them out for her and you know you kind of take a risk sometimes right when you when you tell someone like that because you don't know how they're gonna react but I just kind bible college students saying hey what's so what's wrong with pastor anderson he sounds pretty solid you know and they got some sense right and so obviously there's people who have some sense but maybe because he wanted the admiration of the people he just kind of just like i believe you know the the power of positive thinking kind of thing we can do this we can we can do it you know i think i can i think i can but guess what that wasn't the reality the reality was you're staying in there for like 70 years and in fact you have god told the people god's people he said make sure you just bible says in verse six oh excuse me verse five then the prophet jeremiah said unto the prophet hananiah in the presence of the priest and the presence of all the people that stood in the house of the lord even the prophet jeremiah said amen he said amen all right you say so you know it's just like all right amen the lord do so the lord performed thy words which thou has prophesied to bring again the vessels of the lord's house and all that is carried away captive from babylon into this place nevertheless here down now this word that i speak in nine ears and in the ears of all the people the prophets that have been before me and before thee of old prophesied both against many countries and against great kingdoms of war and of evil and of pestilence now i find it interesting that jeremiah is saying this because i'm sure hananiah is getting some popularity because jeremiah is preaching a lot of negative messages so people are following him because he's preaching the negative messages but they're not necessarily enjoying them then you got hananiah who comes and he's like this prosperity everything's gonna be okay and they're like yeah hey see this guy he's positive man and then what does jeremiah do he's like hey just let you know i'm not the first one who's preached like this there's come guys before me who have preached against kingdoms against countries so this negative message that jeremiah has he's not the first one to do it is what he's saying and it goes and it how do we apply that today people look at us you guys are so negative have you heard of jack house amen make sure i emphasize this but every false prophet fits all of this every single characteristic we gave this morning and today they fed they fed them all it just so happened that those false prophets that they deny the lord that bought them they resist the truth it says right there denying the only lord god in our lord jesus christ so it's not a matter of well can a reprobate be saved no because
