Good evening, everybody, and welcome back for Sunday night service at Shield of Faith Baptist Church. It's great to see we'll be back this evening, ready to sing praises unto God. We're just thankful for this church. Amen. So let's turn to song number 410. This is a great song, Faith is a Victory. It hasn't been in a long time, but it describes the Christian life as a battle. And as far as let's be brave. And we will turn to song number 410, Faith is a Victory. On the first. In camp, along the hills, the mighty Christian soldiers rise. And press the battle ere the night shall bale the glowing skies. Against the low, in bales below, let all our strength be heard. Faith is the victory we know that overcomes the world. Faith is the victory. Faith is the victory. Oh, glorious victory that overcomes the world. His battle purposes love our sword, the word of God. We tread the saints alone with shouts of triumph, God. By faith they like a world whose breast went gone for every field. And the faith by which they conjured then is still our shining shield. Faith is the victory. Faith is the victory. Oh, glorious victory that overcomes the world. On every end of the road I drawed up in treachery. Let tens of these be left behind and on for two to three. Salvation's no win on each end, which we've all heard about. The earth shall tremble with our tread and echo with our shout. Faith is the victory. Faith is the victory. Oh, glorious victory that overcomes the world. To him that overcomes the world, while the reign it shall be given. Before things will cease, his name can last forever. And on the hills of light, our hearts of a flame will vanquish all the hosts of night in Jesus' hungry name. Faith is the victory. Faith is the victory. Oh, glorious victory that overcomes the world. Amen. Brother David, we hope this will work for you, sir. Dear Father God, we thank you for bringing this together this evening. We sing praises to you and to your word we pray. But we just ask that you give blessed service this evening. Bless Pastor Jones as he comes forward through your semesters. If you lay on his heart, Lord, we just ask that you give us all your care. And we ask that you receive the message so that we can fully love you. And in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Amen. All right, let's turn over a couple pages there to 413. Stand up. Stand up for Jesus. Amen. So 413, stand up. Stand up for Jesus. Every poet's name. And Christ is Lord indeed. Stand up. Stand up for Jesus. The trumpet call obey. To the mighty conflict men. His glorious say that our men now circuit against a numbered host. But courage rides with danger and strength to strength oppose. Stand up. Stand up for Jesus. Standing in strength alone. The arm of flesh will fail you. Be clear, not trust your own. Put on the gospel armor and watching unto prayer. Where duty calls for danger, be never wanting there. Amen. All right. Welcome to Shilomith Baptist Church. I think we are out of bulletins, but I'll go through these announcements here quickly. Weekly church service time, Sunday mornings at 10.30. Sunday evenings are at 6 and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. Underneath there is a list of soul winning times. That is where we go out into the community, knock on doors, try to find people that are interested in hearing the gospel. The only time listed below that is consistent is Saturday mornings, 10.30 meeting right here. There will be a consistent mountain home time coming very soon. So I'll get the location and all that for everyone next week. Let's see here. Praise report. So we did finish off the year a lot better than we thought. Thanks to Brother Skolk and his team. That's right though. You know, this year we did a lot of unorthodox things. We went to some unreceptive areas just to, you know, just to get the word out. You know, I don't want to make it a habit of going to the ridge, but we, you know, you kind of had to. It's just part of doing business and they got warned safely. So it is what it is. They know somebody's here who does not agree with them. And that's, yeah, that's boring enough for me. All right. Let's see your announcements. Back page. Tonight we'll be continuing on with John, 1 John chapter number three. New Testament reading challenge. We have the charts over here, I believe. We might be out. If we are, just let me know. And we will get that taken care of. Birthdays, anniversaries for January. I felt like there was more in January. We kicked more people out than I thought. I thought January was like longer for some reason. Maybe it was like a year ago. I don't know. But next up is Care Bear Kara on the 16th. That's her birthday. That's right. Were you here for your birthday last year? You were, weren't you? You were here. That's right. Because I was like, well, I won't embarrass you this year. Next year. I promised you some kind of embarrassment. Some kind of chastening, just because. That's how we do it. This week's memory verse. Genesis 3 verse 4, which says, And the serpent said unto the woman, You shall not surely die. We are a family-integrated church. You know what that means. Children and infants always welcome in the service. The mother baby room is right across the way here. And if you need the daddy baby room, it's right over here. But nobody ever uses it for obvious reasons. Now, seriously, if anybody ever does need to use that, we can make arrangements. Especially now that we have this space over here. And the idea with this space, one of the things we are going to do is we're going to put a video camera in there and in here, a monitor in here and a monitor in there, you know, because you know the kids will be, you know, running back and forth. And that way they'll kind of know they're being watched and we can watch everything that's going on. So that'll be coming soon as well. We are a family-integrated church. What that means, I already said that. Tithes and offerings for January will be updated next week. Let's see here. Don't forget to turn your phone off. We'll place it on silent so it's not a distraction. And the very bottom line, this is when people fail to take correction. You need to go the other direction. That was from last Sunday morning. Well, with that being said, I think that's it. We'll have one more song before we receive the offering. All right, let's grab those hymn books one more time, please. We'll turn the song to 183. Great song. Oh, how I love Jesus. Amen. It's on 183. Get there myself. Oh, how I love Jesus. There is a name I love to hear on the first. There is a name I love to hear. I love to sing its birth. It sounds like music in my ear. The sweetest thing on earth. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Because he first loved me. It tells me of a savior's love who died to set me free. It tells me of his precious blood, the sinner's perfect plea. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Because he first loved me. It tells me what my father had in store for every day. And though I dread a dark sopat, he'll sunshine all the way. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Because he first loved me. It tells of one whose loving heart can feel my deepest full. And in each sorrow bears a part that none can bear below. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Because he first loved me. Amen. All right, well, let's go ahead and pray. Thank you so much, Lord, for allowing us to be able to meet here this evening. I just pray that you'd bless the service, Lord, and to be edifying to everyone. Pray that you keep us safe, Lord, as we go home and bless the fellowship after the service. Thank you for all that you do for us, Lord. In Jesus' name I pray, amen. Amen. All right, please turn your Bibles to 1 John chapter number 3. 1 John chapter number 3, continuing our study through the epistles of John. 1 John chapter number 3, and when you get there, starting at verse number 1, the Bible reads, Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God. Therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be. But we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law, for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins, and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not, whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you. He that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning, for this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin, for his seed remaineth in him, and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil. Whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we shall love one another, not as Cain, who is of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him, because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer, and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing and in sight. And this is his commandment, that we should believe on the name of his son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. Brother Kevin, would you pray for us? All right. Amen. Well, we're continuing on. 1 John chapter number 3. We will not make it through the entire chapter tonight, but we will cross into chapter 4 next week. But that's all right. So 1 John, the book of 1 John, the epistle of 1 John is what? It is a fellowship epistle. It is not saying that we lose our salvation because we sin or because we don't follow the commandments. And we've been talking about that. There are a lot of difficult verses for people in this epistle. And I've mentioned this before. If you've never read the Gospel of John, you have no business being in this epistle. You absolutely need to understand the Gospel. You need to have read through that before you start going off into this part of the Bible. Again, a lot of people say, oh, thin book. Hey, I'd like to get a couple notches under my belt and I'll just read through 1, 2, 3 John and I'm good to go. And then what usually happens? They wind up with questions and not understanding things. And it's because God designed his word to be read in order. Now that's not to say you can't just read Mark and then read Matthew. Of course you can do that. But you need to understand chronology. It's very important. You need to understand what Jesus did on the cross, first of all, before you go and start preaching eternal life and salvation. I think we can all agree on that. And we've been talking about the purpose clause. John uses a lot of purpose clause statements. Why does he do this? Well, he does this, again, because of the intense content that is found in these letters. There are some difficult things. For example, look at verse 8. He that committed sin is of the devil. Stop right there. Well, we all sin. And what happens when we're out soul winning and we're out talking to people? A lot of times they'll say, well, if you sin, you're of the devil. You're a child of the devil. It doesn't say child. It doesn't say child. It says of. Why does it say of? Because he is the source of wickedness. He is the one that dictates culture. He is in charge of the course of the world that Paul warned us about, which we were all a part of at one point. And then we went and we looked at the parable of the wheat and the tares. And we said, hey, the tares represent what group of people? The children of the devil. Jesus told us that. The wheat are those who are saved. In just regular life, can wheat ever become a tare? Can tare ever become wheat? Can corn on the cob become a steak? No. It's impossible. So once you're born again, you are always born again. We're going to hammer that tonight. Once you're a child of the devil, you are always a child of the devil. And that's where we left off last week. But again, any time you run into a difficult verse in these epistles, whether it be 1 John, whether it be the Proverbs, whether it be James, for that matter. Always go back to the purpose clause. Why was this epistle written? Why was this book written? And that will get you back onto the right track. It is so important that we, as God's people, understand that. Now, keep your place right there and go to Revelation chapter number three. Because we need to make sure that we understand this question. What is the difference between salvation and fellowship? Now, hopefully everybody in here understands that. Obviously, salvation is a free gift. It's easy to obtain. You receive it. It's yours forever. That does not make you automatically a disciple. That does not mean that you're going to remain in fellowship, if you will, with Christ. That is a different ball of wax. I just want to show you that here in Revelation chapter number three. So, Revelation chapter three, verse 14, is what? It's the letter to the Laodicean church. Look at verse 14. It says this. And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God. Now, does that sound like Jesus is just an ordinary man? Just God's son? No. No, he's deity. He is God. Verse 15. I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot. I would, thou, were cold or hot. Why? Why? Look at verse 15. I mean, sorry, look at verse 16, if you will. So then, because thou art lukewarm, neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth. Look, nobody likes drinking lukewarm. When you go to Black Rock over here, or The Human Being, or Dutch Brothers, Starbucks, wherever you get your coffee from, hopefully back here sometimes. You know, we've got that good, better than organic coffee. I love that stuff. This is great. But anyways, you know, when you go back there and you reach for the pot, because you see, oh, it's the black juices in there, right? And you pour it in your cup and it's lukewarm, it kind of takes you back. It's like, well, what's this? You know, she's got a real tough stomach. And that's what Jesus is likening these lukewarm Christians to, okay? And you know what? I'm not a dispensationalist, but I will say it's interesting that this is the last letter to the seven churches. And it's funny that this is the prevailing attitude today in the world amongst professing Christianity, okay? It is a lukewarmness. You know, believe it or not, I mean, there's people saved out there. There are people in this community that agree with us, that aren't kicked out, you know? They would say, yeah, I've listened to you. We get comments every so often. We'll get emails from people in the community. And it's like, man, where are you? We need your help. There are many, many doors, many, many places. Much work to be done. Where are you? You're caught up in the course of the world, okay? And my message to you is we don't hate you. We want to encourage you. We want to bring you in. We want you to get right, to be hopped on fire, zealous for the Lord. Let's continue reading verse number 17. Jesus says this, And I mean, look, isn't that the truth? You know, who's ever talked to some of these Christians that go to like the big mega church, right, with thousands of people and they're like, oh, we've only been in existence for four years and we've got, you know, 5,000 people. We've got eight vans. We've got all this stuff. Most people in our church, God's blessing them. You know, we've got people with high incomes. You know, we hear that stuff all the time. And this is what they're saying. The difference is a lot of these people were saved and most of those people, unfortunately, are not saved. Okay? So just keep that in mind. Look what he says in verse number 18. It says, What is he saying? He's saying, hey, because you're lukewarm, there's people inside your congregation that obviously aren't saved. They don't have the right garment. Okay? They're naked. But what he's saying is you ought to invest yourself in eternal riches, right? Where moth and rust doth not corrupt. Right? We ought to have the majority of our service geared towards eternal rewards. That helps keep us on track. That's what Jesus is saying. But look what he says here in verse number 19. And this is why I don't think that they were all just, you know, card blank, just, you know, unsaved. He says, I rebuke and chasten. Be zealous therefore and repent. Okay? So what is he saying? He's saying, hey, there's people there that I love. And if you guys don't understand what's gonna happen to you, guess what? I am going to chasten you. I am going to put my hand to you and make you understand, make the world understand, make the other churches understand so that others may fear as well. And he says for that reason, therefore be zealous. There's one way that Christ wants us to act and that is with zeal according to knowledge. Okay? Verse number 20. He says this, Now a lot of people use that verse, you know, I don't know if a lot of people do, but old IFB churches will often use this verse in their soul winning and say, see, he stand at the door and knock. And it's true he's drawing all men unto himself and he's desirous that people would open their hearts and obviously receive the truth. But really what this is talking about is responding to that chastening. You gotta understand, no zeal, you're getting chastened. As a believer, we do not get, as God's children, the right or the privilege to act however we want to. It destroys fellowship. And what he's saying there is, hey, if you get right, look, I'm giving you patience. I'm giving you time. I'm giving you an opportunity. I'm here. Hey, open up. Get right. Get zealous so that we can have fellowship so that you can go out for your own benefit, for the benefit of your brothers and sisters and get people saved, teach people doctrine and do what I need done for the kingdom. So that's what he's saying. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. This is in regards to fellowship, not salvation. Okay? That is what he is talking about there. He's talking about restoring fellowship with the believers in this church. So go back, if you would, to 1 John chapter number 3. And it's talking about fellowship, not salvation. And again, this is just one of those things that is a battle that we fight week after week, week after week out in the community. That's why when you read the Bible, we read the Bible, we see these things and we pull these things out and we get mad and we yell and we scream and we stomp because we see it. We're actually doing the commandments. We're actually following what Christ said and we're out there trying to get the word of God across to people and it's so frustrating when they just won't respond. Everybody knows that, right? But you get somebody who's lukewarm and they start reading this and they're just like, oh yeah, boy, that's crazy, man. What about that rapture, you know? What's that coming? Isn't it coming like any minute now? You know, we gotta hurry up and we're almost out of here, right? We're almost out of here. You know, by the way, that's what that doctrine does. That's what that pre-trib doctrine does. Oh, there's a rapture, but it's not before. But it's not before the tribulation and I don't wanna go too far off into that, but it produces complacency. It does, that's the byproduct. It produces complacency because people are like, well, we're almost out of here. Ah, the heck with them. Let them come to church, they're gonna get saved. Who's ever been in church and heard that? Yeah, a lot of us have. So let's go back here where we left off last week and start going through this chapter now. So look at verse number nine. John says, whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin for his seed remaineth in him and he cannot sin because he is born of God. Keep your place there because we will refer back to it here in a moment, but go to Romans chapter six. Yeah, Romans chapter number six. Now, I forgot to give you the title. The title of the sermon this evening is The Hate Spectrum. The Hate Spectrum, we'll get into that here in a moment. But before we do, there is a spectrum in response to this verse here. People read this and they say, okay, whosoever is saved, right, who's really a Christian doesn't do sins. Okay, you get guys like Ray Comfort who will say stuff like that. I don't sin anymore. Nazarene church, holy sanctification, right? There are people in that denomination and many other denominations in Christian churches that say, you know, you can get to a point where you just don't sin anymore. That's buffoonery. That is not true. It is a lie, but they'll use this as a proof text. And so you have two groups of people typically, okay? One group says, well, you lost your salvation because if you commit sin, you're not born again, right? Whosoever's born again doesn't sin. That's what they'll say. You lost your salvation, okay? And they know they can't keep the law and the commandments so they start to downplay everything. That's why they'll go through the NIV and some of these kiddie versions of the Bible is to placate that ideology. And then on this side, you've got people that are Calvinists and they'll say, well, they were just never saved to begin with. Both of those are wrong. Remember, we serve a God of balance, okay? We serve a God of balance. So what does this mean here? Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin. You know, we believe in faith by, I mean, the faith is a free gift. Salvation is not earned by your merit. That's called human achievement. We don't subscribe to that. We believe in divine accomplishment, what Jesus Christ did on the cross. When he said it was finished, it was finished, okay? We have to receive that free gift. It's ours forever. We're born again. We're going to take a look at that. But what does this mean? Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin, right? We've got a room full of people in here that claim to be born of God and we've all sinned today. So what does this mean? How can this be written here? Oh, you've got to go back to the original languages, right? False. False doctrine. We do not tolerate that here. That is a lie. What could this possibly mean here? You're there in Romans chapter number six. Look at verse number three. No, ye not. This is Paul talking to the Romans. He says, no, ye not that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death. Notice that word into. That denotes position, right? 1 John 3, 9. Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin for his seed remaineth in him. What is that talking about? The seed of the word of God. When you accept it and you believe it, it's in you. It remains in you. Is that the old you or the new you? The new you, right. In denotes position. When you get saved, you get placed into Christ. You are positionally in him, in the body of Christ, in the kingdom of God. It's not the old man. It's the new man. But let's take a look at that because we need to understand this. The more verses you have and the broader of your understanding regarding this doctrine, the easier it's gonna be to explain this to other people. So let's back up, if you will, to the beginning of the chapter. You know, we always like to quote that, you know, verse to people. You know, the thought of foolishness is sin. Don't tell me you didn't have a foolish thought today. Not happening. Everybody's gonna have a foolish thought. Look at verse number one. So Paul says this, and he's really talking about the same subject here. He says, what shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? You know, because people are questioning. You know, like, wait, okay, so we're, you know, Christ paid the sin debt. We get eternal life. Is that a license to sin? He's like, no. There are still consequences for that. Verse number two, God forbid. How shall we that are dead to sin live any longer therein? He's like you knowing that you're saved, knowing what your reasonable service is, understanding that you're a new creature in Christ. You know, you shouldn't have that attitude, right? You shouldn't be like, oh, you know, yeah. Well, we'll, sin abounds. So does grace. Grace does more. You know, I might as well just go on with my life. He's like, no, you're missing the point. That's not profitable to you or to anyone. Then it has eternal consequences. Verse number three again. Know ye not that so many of us as we're baptized is not talking about water baptism. When you get born again, when you get converted, you are placed into, that's what that means, placed into the body of Christ. You are baptized, right? You are baptized into Jesus Christ, and we're baptized into his death. Well, what's significant about his death? That he defeated it. He rose from the dead. Verse four. Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death, that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. How do you walk in newness of life? You have to walk in spirit. Yeah, you have to walk in spirit. If you walk in spirit, you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh. Are you still going to sin? Yes. We understand that. But it's the new man. It's the new person that we visibly cannot see. It's that new creature inside of you that Christ created the moment you received his free gift of everlasting life. You have a new person, soul and spirit, come together, and he's drawn that line between your joints and your marrow, right? Your old man, your physical body, and that new spiritual person inside of you, and we should walk in that. Does he say you must walk in that or you lost your salvation? No, that's not what he says. You should walk in newness of life. You walk in newness of life by choosing to put on the new man. Okay? Verse five. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. Okay? Pretty easy to figure out. Look at verse six. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. So knowing and understanding that what you and I are looking at today is going to go into the ground, okay? Well, number one, it shouldn't scare you. It shouldn't bother you. It shouldn't cause anxiety, right? Paul said, hey, it's better to part and to be with Christ, you know? But he told the Christians and the believers that he was often with, you know, but it's more needful right now for me to be with you. Go to 1 Corinthians 15, and let's take a look at this here. So it's the old man. Why does the old man not get to go to heaven? Because it's sinful, okay? Because he's sinful. But there's another reason. Look at this here, 1 Corinthians 15. Look all the way over at verse number 50. So we see the old man. So the old man sins. Now, is the old man born again? No, it's the new man. So whosoever is born of God sinneth not. Who is it talking about? The new man. Not the old man, but the new man. 1 Corinthians 15, look at verse number 50. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. So again, again, one more time, a billion times, it is impossible to repent of your sins for salvation. It's impossible. Look at the verse closely. Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. So let's say that these clowns like Ray Comfort and whoever else, Paul Washer, all these other guys, can actually stop sinning. Well, it's a violation of God's word, because flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. There's no argument. Look, there's no way out of this one. There's no way. No way. So when someone tells you, you have to repent, you have to turn from your sins to be saved, they are lying, or they're just deceived. In most cases, obviously, outsold and they're deceived. But when someone's a leader, when someone's a pastor, when someone's a college professor, right, or someone's writing me an 18-page email, trying to get me to understand how we have to turn from our sins to stay saved, okay, that's demonic. That is blasphemous is what that is. It's not true. You as a corrupted person cannot inherit incorruption on your own. But look at verse 51. Behold, I show you a mystery. We shall not all sleep. But we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. At the last trump, for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Who does the changing? It's the Lord Jesus Christ, right? That's who does the changing. That's who's going to raise us up in that day, and we'll get that glorification. Remember, your salvation has three parts. Your salvation, being saved, right? And what do we talk about? Your sanctification, being set apart into his body, but also that we should continue to sanctify ourselves as much as possible for fellowship. And then you have your glorification, and that's this right here when we get our new bodies. Verse 53, for this corruptible, stop. What is this corruptible? What does that mean? The flesh, the old man, the body, that's right. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. People claiming that they can stop sinning will never in a bazillion years be able to achieve that on their own, right? Isaiah told you. He told us that our works are as filthy rags. The only way that we can produce any good works is when we are working in the new man, which Christ gave us, which we had to receive. We had to make that choice to receive that. Verse 54, so when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, death is swallowed up in victory. It's not our own merits that achieve that. Verse 55, oh death, where is thy sting? Oh grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to you who turn from your sins. Oh wait, that don't say that, does it? But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. It is Jesus Christ who gives us that victory, not your stupid merits. You don't know how to turn from your sins. You cannot get to heaven on your own. I'm so sick and tired of hearing that garbage. Verse 58, therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. And again, something that we need to make sure that we understand always as a church, no matter what these soul-winning numbers be, it doesn't matter. Your work, your labor is never in vain when it's done in the new man. So go back to Romans chapter number six. So again, all this to really break down 1 John 3.9, whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin. Again, who's born of God? It's the new man. It's not the Ray Comfortite that turned from all of his sins and earned his salvation. No, it's what God created, okay? For his seed remaineth in him and he cannot sin because he's born of God. The new man that's inside of you cannot sin. It's impossible because what God has created will not corrupt. Look at verse number seven. For he that is dead, so Romans chapter six, verse seven, for he that is dead is freed from sin. So you're freed from that old man, right? We have two natures when you're saved. You know the deal. You know when that alarm clock goes off on Sunday. You got the old man, just five more minutes. There's an evening service. Hey, don't worry about it, right? Hey, I know there's a Bible reading challenge. You got so many grace days. Hey, just put it off, right? That's what the old man does, and the new man's like, hey, no, we need some food. We need to get out there. We need to do something. You've got this war going on inside of you, right? You won't have to deal with that anymore when you get to heaven because for he that is dead is freed from sin. So the old man still bothers us, if you will. Verse number eight. Now, if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him. Verse number nine. Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieeth no more. Death hath no more dominion over him. Go to the Gospel of John, if you would, chapter number three. The Gospel of John, chapter number three. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. The Gospel of John, chapter number three. So Paul says this in verse nine of Romans six. He says, knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieeth no more. Death hath no more dominion over him. So that really debunks this stupid doctrine that's been going around that says if you sin enough that you'll go to hell for the millennium. For the thousand years. And then you'll get up and you'll be on the new earth. No, because hell is the second death, okay? And it has no dominion over Christ, okay? So that is obviously false. Just wanted to mention that. A little free commercial break. So, John chapter number three, okay? Let's take a look at this idea here of being born again. John chapter three, verse number one. There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. He wasn't the ruler. He was obviously a leader in that time. He was a teacher. He was a Pharisee. He's supposed to know what he's about to ask, but he doesn't. Look at verse number two. The same came to Jesus by night and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God, for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. And what does Jesus do right away? Obviously, he knows what's in all man and he knows everything. Right to the doctrine of salvation, right? Is this guy saved? And he's speaking to him in a way that hopefully, you know, he'll just understand and get it. So he asked a question. And Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. He doesn't get the question yet, but he says, you know, right off the bat, right? Right off the bat, what does he say? Verily, verily, what does that mean? Truly, truly, right? I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. I wish I could just witness this conversation here because Nicodemus is like, shh. You know, he's like sneaking up at night. He's like, you know, we know you came from God. And he's just like, hey, unless you're saved, you're not going to heaven. Right? It's like, wait, what? What? What are you exposed? He wants Nicodemus to kind of figure out, right? Hey, oh, I get it. The light bulb went off. I'm not saved. But he doesn't get it. Verse number four, Nicodemus saith unto him, how can a man be born when he's old? Can he enter the second time to his mother's womb and be born? So again, you know, we've talked about this before. Nicodemus is like, do I have to go back to infancy and not sin all the way up to the day of my death? And Jesus has got to be like, what in the world? Oh boy, look at verse five. Jesus answered, verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Okay? Mormons will tell you, oh, you're born of the water. You have to be baptized in water to be saved. No, he's talking about physical birth. What was Nicodemus saying? Can I go back into my mother's womb? Okay, and Jesus is like, no, you can't. It's not what I'm talking about. Anyways, verse six, that which is born of the flesh is flesh. That puts that Mormon argument to bed. And that which is born of the spirit is spirit. Okay? So you have the old man, which is flesh, born of the flesh, and then you have the new man, which is born from above. All Christ, not us. Keep your place. We're gonna come right back to it. Go to John chapter one. John chapter one. How does this work? What does this look like? John chapter one, verse 12. Every so often I'll explain this out solely, not always, but once in a while I'll do this. But verse number 12, John says this, but as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God. What does human achievement do today? Well, I'm in the kingdom of God because of what I've done and because what have I, look at what I've achieved. I gave up drinking. I gave up all the stuff. Look, that's all great that you gave up that stuff. But you're trying to earn your way to heaven and you're gonna die in your sins and go straight to hell. But as many as received him, like you receive a gift, but as many as received him, to them gave he power. So when you receive this gift, Christ gives you power to stay in his kingdom. He's not saying he gives you power to straighten out your life so you don't ever sin again. That's not what he's talking about. He gives you power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. John chapter 10, you're placed into the hand of Christ and no man can pluck you out of his hand. Verse number 13, or the rest of the verse, even to them that believe on his name. So again, what is it saying? What are the requirements to enter the kingdom of God? To believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, to them that believe on his name. Verse 13, which were born, don't miss this, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. It is not your will. It is not your will. It is not your will and your will to turn from your sin that gets you into the kingdom of God. Impossible. Can't happen. That's a lie. Go back to John chapter number three and look at verse number seven. Jesus says this, Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again. Now keep in mind here, I brought this up before. Chronologically, are we in the New Testament yet? No. Because there has been no death of a testator, Hebrews chapter nine, verse 16. Okay. This is Old Testament. So how were people saved in the Old Testament? Same way. Same way. Being born again. They just didn't call upon the name of the Lord Jesus prior to this because they didn't know who he was. He wasn't manifested yet. He wasn't born yet. Right? What was John the Baptist's role? To make the paths straight. Right? Straight. Not like you gotta walk the straight and you're gonna be saved, but like the straights of Gibraltar, right? Straight. Corresponding with one way. There's one way to heaven and that's through Christ. Okay? That is the truth. That is what we're dealing with here. Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again. That's obligatory. That is not optional. You have to be born again. And you cannot be born again by your own merits. It's not by the will of the flesh. It's not by the will of man. It's so clear to those of us who are saved. You know, but people who have been caught up in the web of lies, just, yeah, but what about all this other stuff? This is the word of God. Look at verse 8. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and now hear'st the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh and whither it goeth. So is everyone that is born of the Spirit. So there's obviously a mystery concerning all this. We don't get to see it. When you get saved, you don't get to see the sword, right, come in and divide your physical flesh from the spirit and soul that's inside you. You don't get to see that with your eyes. Obviously, them in eternity somehow see it. But with that in mind, look at verse 9. Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? So again, this is proving that he is not saved. He doesn't get the most basic concept of the Bible, which is salvation being a free gift. Verse 10. Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? What a shame to call yourself a teacher of the word of God, a teacher in the Bible, and you don't even know how to get people saved. That is terrible. That is disgusting, if you ask me. That is just horrible, and that's bad. Go back to 1 John chapter number 3. Very, very bad situation. So again, being born again is conversion. It's being baptized into Christ. It's hearing the word of God and receiving the word of God and getting that power from God to be in the family. It's being born again, being converted, not by flesh and blood, not by the will of man. Very clear to understand. So when you go back to, let's pick it up here again in verse number 9. 1 John 3, 9. Whosoever is born of God. Again, who's the whosoever there? It's the new man, right? It's the new man. Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin. So that new man does not commit sin, for his seed, which is the word of God, which we received, remaineth in him. That word is positionally in you. And you are positionally in Christ, in the word of God forever. And he cannot sin because he is born of God. So that new creature, it's impossible for it to sin. So let's move on. Verse number 10. A lot of verses, just to explain one verse, but that's how it goes sometimes. Verse number 10. In this, the children of God are manifest. What does it mean to be made manifest? Well, to be made known, to be made public, visible. In this, what's this? In this truth. This is how we can tell who's saved and who's lost, who's saved and who's not. In this, the children of God are manifest and the children of the devil. Whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. What does that mean? Does that mean if you hate your brother in Christ, you lost your salvation and you're going to hell? No. Refer back to the purpose clause. These things were written for assurance of salvation and how to remain fully joyous in Christ. Fellowship, right? So let's break this down. In this, so in the truth that we just got done reviewing, in this, the children of God are made known or made manifest and the children of the devil. Why does he throw that in there? Well, he just got done telling us in chapter two about the antichrists who come in amongst the brethren. They learn our ways. They learn our lingo. They learn what we do. And then eventually God causes them to be exposed. They get booted out of the church and they go out and rail and make videos and do all the stupid things that they always do, okay, and cause a bad name to come over us. But the children of the devil, because the children of the devil cannot do righteousness, okay, they hate this message with a passion. And if you've ever knocked on a Satanist door, you will understand that very, very quickly. So let's move on here, verse number 11. So John says this, for this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. Again, that we should love one another. Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew him? Because his own works were evil and his brother's righteous. So obviously we broke that down last year. You guys probably remember that, that Cain was envious. He was envious of his brother. You know, and he wanted to do things his way. He loved that religion of human achievement. Look at what I've done. I want to give the offering the way that I want to give the offering. Right, whereas the brother was like, you know what, I'm going to do it the way he said to do it. I'm going to do it the way God wants it done. Verse 13, Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. So we should never be scratching. Why does the world constantly hate us? You know, I feel like I get to know somebody at work, and all of a sudden they don't want to talk to me anymore. You know, they're just social distancing me. Why do they do that? It's because something you said or a decision that you made or the way that you're conducting yourself has told them that you're different. You're of a different family. You have a different father. You have a different set of rules that you live by, and they don't like it. Okay, they don't want your company. They will flush you down the toilet, so to speak. Verse number 14, we know that we have passed from death unto life because we love the brethren. Okay, now let's stop right there for a second. Okay, this is one way that you can know you're saved when you have that deep love for the brethren. Okay, that's what he's talking about here. Look at verse, or look at the rest of the verse. It says, he that loveth not his brother abideth in death. We're going to come back to that in chapter number five when we address the subject of sin unto death. So I don't want to beat that to death right now, but let's be honest, okay? Have two Christians ever hated each other? Of course. That happens all the time. Did they lose their salvation? Does that mean they were never saved? No, in the old man, in the flesh, right? Why? Because we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers of darkness and rulers and all of that stuff, and that is what we understand. Okay, we have to understand that, right? The devil's always working to get people fighting against each other, but what happens when someone comes into the church and they're constantly like, can't get along with you, can't get along with you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you? Y'all, I don't know. I think this is an ungodly church. They can't get along with any brother, but the person they can get along with has the same attitude. Can't get along with you, you, you, you, you. I need to go off somewhere else. Big red flag, right? Big red flag. We know that we have passed from death into life because we love the brethren. When you see people come into a congregation of believers and they cannot love the brethren, it's like almost impossible for them. All I'm saying, watch out. We've got a big problem. You're possibly dealing with people that are not saved. So let's get into this idea here of verse 15. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer, and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Who's ever heard this one outsole anyone? Yeah, a lot of people who've unfortunately come out of prison will often quote this, right? It's weird. They're like, well, I didn't go in there for murder, but they'll say because whosoever is a murderer, you can't have eternal life. And once a murderer, always a murderer. Again, this could be a difficult verse for a lot of people to explain. And this is where I got the title, the hate spectrum. So let's dig into this. Go to Luke chapter number 14. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer, and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. First of all, you know, we need to make sure that we understand what hate means, okay? Because you get your definition from the world of what hate means, and you're gonna be all messed up, okay? And we've all been there, so don't worry about it. What is hate? It's the opposite of love. It's the opposite of love. And I'm gonna prove to you that there is a spectrum of hate, okay? We don't typically speak like what we're about to read here, but there is a spectrum of hate. And where do you think God wants us? Right in the middle. Balance, that perfect hatred. Some of you already know, okay? Let's take a look at this end of hate here. Let's look at verse number 25. Luke 14, verse number 25. So it says this. And there went great multitudes with him, and he turned and said unto them. So this is Jesus speaking here. Verse 26. If any man come to me and hate not his father and mother and wife and children and brethren and sisters, yea, and his own life, also he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever does not bear his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. Okay, a disciple. Do you have to be a disciple to be saved? No, no. You have to be saved in order to become a disciple, and you better count the cost before you go down that road. That's what he says after this. We don't have time to get into that. But let's break this down, verse 26. If any man come to me and hate not his father, okay? All kinds of people pull this verse up, right? And there's a spectrum. They're gonna say, you know what? The Bible's wrong here. The Bible teaches over here. They'll say, hey, the Bible tells you you're supposed to start a cult, right? You gotta hate your parents. Who here thinks that Jesus is saying, okay, if you wanna be my disciple, you need to come to me with a checklist, right? And I wanna see all the people that you've told that they suck and you hate them and that they're garbage and trash, okay? Did you tell your mom, oh, you wanna be a disciple? Did you tell your mom that she's wicked, you know, whatever today? Dad, sister, brother, children. Did you leave them? Did you leave them in the dumps? No. Okay, that's not what he's talking about. Obviously, that's not what he's saying, right? Now, is this a misprint in the Bible? No. No. No, that would make you somebody who doesn't believe the word of God. So what does it mean if any man come to me and hate not his father and his mother and his wife and children and all these things cannot be my disciple? Okay, well, let's take a look at it. When a person decides they wanna become a disciple, what typically happens? They say, you know what, mom, dad, whatever, you start sowing at these times, not gonna be able to come to these events or whatever, they take that as hate. Oh, you hate me, meaning you don't love me. Meaning you don't love me. There's an absence of love now because you're doing this, okay? And that is an act of hate, okay? Not all hate is violence. Not all hate is wickedness, okay? We are allowed to hate. So when we do that, you know what, it's an act of hatred. But according to the Bible, it's not a sinful act of hatred, okay? It's just meaning, you know what, we love Christ, we're gonna serve him. Wish you'd all come along. Wish you'd all get and come along, but this is what I'm doing because I understand the sincerity and the urgency of what needs to be done and that I'm gonna spend much more time in eternity than I am going to on this earth, so I'm gonna make the best of it. When you make that decision, it's considered an act of hate by other people. And it is because at face value, it's not a loving thing to leave your family and to go off and do that. But it's the right thing. It's a good thing. It's a righteous thing, right? But it's an act of hate. So there's a spectrum when it comes to hate. Then now, let's stop here. Now you got guys like Saul, like King Saul, right? Did Saul love David? Well, at one point in time, he did, right? And then he decided out of envy to turn his heart against him and to go pursue him and try to kill him, okay? That's an act of hatred. That's obviously wrong hatred, okay? So where do we need to be as believers? There's a certain point to where we don't want to go beyond. And let's take a look at that here, Psalm 139. Turn to Psalm 139, okay? Because of course, you listen to the world. It's wrong to hate everything. Don't ever hate anyone, anything for any reason. Only love, God, it's only love. Really? Does God love the children of the devil? Is that why he blew out Sodom and Gomorrah? Is that why he was willing to completely cut out the entire tribe of Benjamin and Judges 19 and 20 because he harbored Sodomites and freaks? Get real and learn the Bible. So let's take a look at something here. Let's take a look at David, a man after God's own heart. Let's see what he has to say about hate. And where do we need to find ourselves on the spectrum of hate? Verse 19, this is David, surely, talking about God, talking to God, praying to God. Surely, thou wilt slay the wicked, O God. Depart from me, therefore, ye bloody men, for they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain. Are we supposed to love our enemies? Are we supposed to love God's enemies? No. Big difference, most people get this wrong. Most people do not understand this because most people do not read the Bible. Okay, big difference here. Gotta pay it. Words mean things. Words mean things. Thine enemies take thy name in vain. Look at verse 21. Do not, I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee, and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? Look, he's praying this to God. He's like, do not I hate them, O Lord? Right, he's like telling God, like God, you know I hate your enemies. Verse 22, I hate them, I hate them with perfect hatred. I count them my enemies. So the problem is, for example, the grand wizard who hates women. That's wrong. That's wrong to hate women. He's way over here on that hate spectrum. He's out of balance. He's off his rockers. That's not okay. That's bad. Where do we as believers need to be? In that middle, right? In that middle. Perfect hatred. A complete hatred. A righteous hatred, if you will. He says, I hate them with perfect hatred. I count them my enemies. You see that? Now look what he says next. Search me, O God, and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts. I can't remember who did this, but I was talking to somebody a couple years ago. I don't remember which church it was at, but they read these verses to somebody and they said, okay, right, and they disguised the Bible so it would just look like a normal book. They said, is that the Bible or the Quran? That's the Quran. That's the Quran. That's the Quran. That's the Quran. That's brilliant, man. That is absolutely brilliant. I want to try it. But it's just like blowing people out. It's like Mark Dice, you know, just going downtown to San Diego and just, hey, is this the Quran or the Bible? Oh, that's not the Bible. That wouldn't be in the Bible. David wouldn't say something like that. But what is David saying? He's saying, hey, I hate your enemies with a perfect hatred, God, and search me and see if there's any wicked way in me. So is it wicked to hate God's enemies? No. Verse 24, and see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way of everlasting. Go back, if you would, to 1 John chapter number three. So on the spectrum, you got one act of hatred over here, which is just, you know, the price of doing business. You decide you're going to follow Christ. It's observed as an act of hatred, you know, and Jesus is just saying, hey, you know, unless you hate, hey, okay, you want to say that's hate? Fine, there you go. You know, it's the absence of love, you know, and that's obviously a righteous thing. And then you got the middle of that spectrum, which is that perfect hatred, where, you know, when we have our own enemies, people that don't hate God, people just don't, we just, you know, don't get along with the neighbors getting upset and he's, you know, a new evangelical or something, you know, I don't know, whatever, okay? He doesn't hate God. You know, we shouldn't hate those people. That old man wants to, right? That old man wants to, for sure, right? We need to make sure that the people that we're hating actually hate God, okay? That's what I'm saying. We don't want to hate our enemies. We want to bless them and do good unto them, you know, because we want to maintain a good testimony, obviously, okay? But there is a spectrum when it comes to hate. And the world throws all that out the window and says, if you hate, you're not a Christian, period, right? What do most people say around here? What are the requirements to get into heaven? What do they say? Don't judge and don't hate. Don't judge, don't hate. Don't judge, don't hate. All the time, don't judge and don't hate. No, that's CNN. No, that's MSNBC. No, that's Hollywood, okay? That's the world. You didn't get that from the word of God. So, verse 15. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer, and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Now let's say somebody is a murderer, but they get saved, okay? Is that old man still a murderer? Yeah. Is the new man? No. No. Who here thinks Saul was saved? Who here thinks Saul was saved? I do. I believe Saul was saved. Okay, was he a murderer? Yeah, he hated his brother, right? I mean, he hated his brother. Did he not have Doeg the Edomite slay? What? How many? Seventy of God's priests or something like that? I forgot the number already, but you get the point. Think about that. Think about that for a second. That's being a murderer, and God charged him to that, too. It was very clear what Samuel told him, that you would be with me today. Saul was born again. So he has everlasting life. So this can't mean that. Not to mention all the purpose clauses that we've looked at that say you can't lose your salvation. It's impossible. So whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer. What did Jesus say happens to you? What do you become if you just look at a woman with lust? Yeah, you're an adulterer, okay? But can adulterers be saved? Of course. Of course, absolutely. So whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer. God's standards are up here. Our standards are down here. We don't meet them on our own accord. The old man will never meet those. It says, and you know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. That's referring to the old man. Verse 16. Let's move on. Hereby perceive we the love of God because he laid down his life for us. What is the message today? Oh, we need to lay down our life for him. You need to give your life to Jesus Christ. No, he gave his life for you. Hereby perceive we the love of God because he laid down his life for us. Because we couldn't do it. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. So we should take that in sample that he did on the cross and use it as an example in our own lives and live for the brethren. Verse 17. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? James talks about this faith without works is dead. When you say, hey brother, I know you need a new jacket and a new this and I've got tons of that stuff, but hey, be warm and filled, right? Well, guess what? That act of faith that you're claiming to have, right? It's not working right now. It's not being profitable to your brother. That's all that means. Go to 1 Corinthians 6 and we will be done. 1 Corinthians chapter number 6 and we will be done. Wrap this thing up here. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? Not saying you lost your salvation. He's not saying you aren't saved. He's basically saying, hey, you're not being profitable to the brethren here, okay? You're not. You don't have the love of God. You're out of fellowship. You're literally out of fellowship right now. And now you're revelation 320 and all day long, hey, you done quenching me yet? Huh? You done? You done quenching the spirit yet, right? And you feel that. Don't lie. You know you feel that. If you're saved and you're out of fellowship, you feel that. You hear that. And you know that. People don't want to talk about it, but it's true. 1 Corinthians 6, verse number 1. So let's take a look at this a little bit further from back in verse 15 where it says, Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer, and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Well, let's take a look at the Corinthians. Do you think they had people that hated each other? Oh, yeah, of course, right? Let's take a look. Verse number 1. What does Paul say? Dare any of you having a matter against another go to law before the unjust and not before the saints? It's like, look, you guys have peace with each other and you're suing each other? What are you doing? Tell me that's not an act of hatred. But what does he say? You lost your salvation. You need to get it back. You need to do penance. You need to kneel on a bed of rice and bang your head up against the wall? No. Verse 2. Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world, and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Right? We were told by a seventh-day Adventist yesterday, the judging. Oh, that's terrible. I can't believe you. Oh, no, you shouldn't judge people. No judgment. No judgment. I said the spiritual judges all things. Okay? Here it is again. Right? We are commanded to be judges. Verse 13. Oh, not verse 13. I'm sorry. Verse 3. Know ye not that we shall judge angels? How much more are things that pertain to this life? Verse 4. If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. Why do that? Yeah. To eliminate the respecter of persons value. Get those people that aren't highly esteemed. Oh, this guy's a lawyer. We should make him the judge. I don't always do that. Give everybody a chance. Give that person who's not high and mighty in this life to make a good judgment, because oftentimes they have more insight and wisdom, because they're not bogged down with the things of this world, is what Paul's saying. Let's see here. Verse 5. I speak to your shame. Is it so that there is not a wise man among you? Right? I mean, think about it. This is terrible. This is where we don't want our church to go. Know not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren, but brother goeth to law with brother, and that before unbelievers. Again, an act of hatred. Did they lose their salvation? No. Verse 7. Now, therefore, there is utterly a fault among you, because you go to law one with another. Okay. Now, if you lost your salvation, wouldn't this be a good time to mention it? Right? A fault. You guys are jacked up. You really blew it. But what does he say? Why do you not rather take wrong? Why do you not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? And, you know, we need to just learn that. You know, sometimes, here, let me just say this. If you're going to loan somebody, another brother, a car, you better think twice. You better be ready to part with that thing, because it's better just to be like, well, if I don't get it back, I'm okay with that in my heart. Okay? I'm telling you, because that is better, just allow yourself to be defrauded, than to develop an envious hatred for your brother, and then bring chastisement upon yourself and get out of fellowship over something that is that silly. Don't do that. And that goes for anything. Hey, can I borrow your toaster oven? Look, don't be like, hey, where's my toaster oven, man? Did you clean it? Oh, you brought it back to me. It's dirty. Just take the hit. Okay? Take the hit. And I haven't done that one, but, you know. Verse 8. Nay, ye do wrong and defraud. Now, is that an act of love? No. It's an act of hatred. Did they lose their salvation? No. And that your brethren, verse 9, know ye not that the unrighteous, that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God, be not deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind. That's not talking about queers. Verse 10. Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revelers, nor extortioners shall inherit the kingdom of God. Right? People quote this to us all the time. Yeah? They quote this one all the time. Oh, yeah. If you're any of that stuff, you're not going to heaven. You're going straight to hell. It's like, why is there, like, 10 cases of Bud Light right there? You know what I mean? This always happens, you know? Yeah, you can't be drunk. It's like, you're drunk right now. Of course, you almost have to be drunk to say something like that, but anyways. Verse 11. And such were some of you. Did they turn from that? No. But ye are washed. Who did the washing? The Lord. But ye are sanctified. But ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God, who justifies Christ. Why? Because he's the satisfaction for our sins. He paid the debt, right? And we received the free gift. It's that simple. Real quick, go back to 1 John 3, verse 15, and we're done. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer, and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. That is a charge to the old man. That's what Paul was saying in 1 Corinthians 6-11, and such were some of you. He's like, some of you were all these things that he lists, but when you got saved, that new person was created inside of you, and you were washed, and you were cleaned, and you were sanctified, and you were justified, not because of what you did, but because of the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of God. Hebrews 4-12, check it if you don't believe me. So, we've got to stop right there for tonight, and we will pick it up in verse 18 next week, and we'll be able to make it into chapter 4 next week. So, let's stop there, bow our heads, have a word of prayer. All right, thank you so much, Lord, again, for this great truth, Lord, in your word, and I just pray that these things would help us, especially while we're out soloing and trying to make disciples, Lord. Thank you again for all that you do for us, in Jesus' name I pray, amen. All right, let's grab those hymn books one final time this evening. We'll turn to song number 415 toward the back of the book. 415, Victory Through Grace. Amen. It's number 415, Victory Through Grace. All the first conquering now and still to conquer Lighted the King in his mind Leading the host of all the faithful Into the midst of the fight See the courage advancing Clad in the brilliance of rain Shouting the name of their leader Hear them exultingly say Not so strong is the latter Not too swift is the race Yet to the true and the faithful Victory is promised through grace Conquering now and still to conquer Who is this wonderful King Into the armies which he leadeth While of his glory they sing He is our Lord and Redeemer Savior and monarch divine They are the stars that forever Bright his kingdom will shine Not so strong is the latter Not too swift is the race Yet to the true and the faithful Victory is promised through grace Conquering now and still to conquer Who is this the ruler of all the world Scepter his soul shall perish And his first cleanser shall fall Yet to the armies thou leadest Faithful and true to the last Find in thy mansions eternal Question their warfare is past Not too strong is the latter Not too swift is the race Yet to the true and the faithful Victory is promised through grace Amen . . . . . . . . . . . .
