This week's memory verse is Proverbs 22.15. It says, Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child, but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. And obviously I still need some corrections. We all do. That's all good. We are a family integrated church. That means we don't separate children from their parents for any reason. If you need privacy, the daddy baby room is right over there. And the mother baby room is right across the hallway. If you have any issues with the monitor, just come see Kayden and get that fixed for you. Tithes and offerings are right below that. Don't forget to turn your phone off or place it on silent so it's not a distraction. It doesn't bother me, but it's all good. The very bottom line says, if you don't initiate what needs to be done, then you will annihilate what could be done that was from last Sunday morning. I do believe that is it. So, where is it? It's done. It's done. Yeah, that is done. Anyways, we're going to have one more song before we receive the offer. All right. Let's grab those hymn books one more time, please. We'll turn this on to 138. We're going to sing the Haven of Rest. Great song. Lift up our voices. 138, the Haven of Rest. My soul in sad exile. My soul in sad exile was out on my side. So heard him give sin and distress. Till I heard a sweet voice singing, make your choice. And I entered the Haven of Rest. I've anchored my soul in the Haven of Rest. I'll sail the wide seas no more. The tempest may sweep, for the wild story through. I'm safe evermore. I yielded myself to his tender embrace. And they taking hold of the word. Thy fetters fell off, and I anchored my soul. The Haven of Rest is my Lord. I've anchored my soul in the Haven of Rest. I'll sail the wide seas no more. The tempest may sweep, for the wild story through. Jesus, I'm safe evermore. The song of my soul since the Lord gave me more. How can the old story be so blest? Oh, Jesus, who saved this web will come. Home in the Haven of Rest. I've anchored my soul in the Haven of Rest. I'll sail the wide seas no more. The tempest may sweep, for the wild story through. Jesus, I'm safe evermore. Come to the Savior, He patiently moves. To save by His power divine. I'll anchor your soul in the Haven of Rest. And save my beloved is mine. I've anchored my soul in the Haven of Rest. I'll sail the wide seas no more. The tempest may sweep, for the wild story through. Jesus, I'm safe evermore. All right, well, let's go ahead and pray. Thank you so much, Lord, for allowing us to be able to meet here again this evening. We just pray that you bless the service, Lord, and bless the fellowship that we have after the service as well. We thank you again, Lord, for being with us. We just pray that you'd take care of us as we go throughout the rest of the week, Lord, and keep us safe. In Jesus' name I pray, amen. Amen. All right, please turn your Bibles to 1 John chapter number 3, continuing our study through the three epistles of John. 1 John chapter number 3, towards the back of your Bibles, 1 John chapter number 3, starting at verse number 1, the Bible reads, Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God. Therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be. But we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. Whosoever committh sin transgresseth also the law, for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins, and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not, whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you. He that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committh sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin, for his seed remaineth in him. And he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil. Whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. For this is the message that ye heard him from the beginning, that we should love one another. Not as Cain, who is of that wicked one, and slew his brother, and wherefore slew he him, because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren, he that loveth not his brother abideth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer, and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother, have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, that we should believe on the name of his son Jesus Christ, and love one another as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him, and hereby we know that he abideth in us by the spirit which he hath given us. Brother Lonnie, would you pray for us? Thank you, Lord, for letting us gather here simply to hear your message. Please open our hearts and our minds so we can hear them and receive them, and have them hear them in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Amen. All right, 1 John chapter number 3. Go back to chapter number 2, because we're going to do a little bit of a review. Hopefully these study guides have been a blessing or been some kind of a help to you. Just always double check, because I think it was last week that someone said that one of the words was missing, right? Yeah. Was it end of chapter 2 or something like that? Yeah. So just double check, because you could have something like that. Not a big deal. I didn't sneak you the NIV. This is King James. But you know, these guys make mistakes. You know, I've even had some King James Bibles before where I'm reading along. Anybody ever had that where you're reading a verse and a word's just gone? Like, whoa, they must have ran out of ink in that spot or something. But anyways, just keep those. Like I said, those are perfect for study, I think, because you can just really just go crazy on them. And I believe writing things down, highlighting, meditating on the Word of God is just so beneficial for us. And again, going back to what we're doing here, we're studying the epistles of John, okay? And a lot of people have this idea that these are very easy books, right? A lot of times I say, hey, I read John like you said, right? You said to read John, and they're talking to you about you having to follow the commandments. You're like, wait, where did you get that from? Oh, you misunderstood. You read 1 John, okay? You're completely out to lunch. And there's a lot of hard sayings and a lot of sayings in these letters here, 1 John and 2 John, that people will take, and they will twist and try to teach false doctrine. And so again, what are these epistles for? They're for fellowship. They're teaching us how to have fellowship with Christ, the fellowship epistle. That's why I like to refer to these as the great fellowship epistle. And one of the things I've been trying to really hammer home is the fact that John uses purpose clauses, okay? You'll see them all throughout the chapter here, all throughout the book. He uses purpose clauses. What in the world is that again? It's just a simple statement of intent, okay? It's just a simple statement that appears at the beginning of a text or in the middle or at the end of a hard concept, just to give you some intent, okay? Purpose clause is for intent so that you can know why he's writing these things. So when you get to something that seems very difficult, you refer back to that purpose clause or that purpose statement. You're like, hey, I may not fully understand what this means, but I know it doesn't mean it works. I know it doesn't mean I have to follow the commandments to be saved. I know it doesn't mean I can lose my salvation. As long as you can remember that purpose clause, because James uses them too, okay? If you can remember that, refer back to those often, and it will guide you in your study, okay? So let's take a look at a purpose clause here. You're back there in 1 John chapter number 2 so we can do some review. Look what he says. He says, these things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you, okay? So not only is he writing these things to us so that we can know for sure that we're saved, so that we can have fellowship and all of these great and wonderful things, but he's also writing these things to us because there are people that will come into a church and try to seduce people. They will try to maliciously manipulate what you believe and what you have been told in order for them to make gain, okay? This happens all the time. It's happened in this church numerous times. And, you know, it's just something we have to get used to. It's just something that we're going to have to buckle down and just understand it is what it is. This is the battle, okay? You don't have a lot of people going into the journey or into Bogus Basin or Rock Harbor trying to overthrow, right? You know, why would a devil go into the Devil's Den to overthrow? It doesn't make any sense, right? Of course not. They're going to come in here. They're going to try to destroy our works and our vision and, Lord willing, we'll never allow them to do that. So let's back up even further here and look at some things before we go back into chapter number 3. So 1 John chapter 2, look at verse number 21. The Bible says this. It says, So, again, referring back to them that seduce you, them that seduces. How do they do that? A lot of times they mix a lie with some truth, right? They've got this potion. Talked about witchcraft a little bit this morning, right? The witch with the hat and, you know, the cauldron, right? Well, this is what they do, metaphorically speaking. They'll take a lie and they'll take some truth and they'll say, How can I mix these together to make it sound good, right? And they'll be talking to you and you're like, I can't, man, I just can't tell what's going on here. And that's okay. John's saying, hey, that's fine. You know that no lies are the truth. So if any of what they're telling you is a lie, the whole thing's a lie. It doesn't matter if this part's true, they're lying, okay? And that's what we need to understand. And you say, why? We'll back up even further and look at verse number 18, another purpose clause. It says this, little children, it is the last time, and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists whereby we know that it is the last time. So look, if he was dealing with that 2,000 years ago, okay, obviously we're going to be dealing with it in today's day and age on probably a higher level. Look at verse number 19. He says this. It says they went out from us, but they were not of us, for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us. That doesn't mean that a person, if they backslide or if they move out of state or they go to a different church, they say, you know, I just would rather move to this area to go to this other church, okay? Nothing against you. I just feel better there. That's fine. No problem whatsoever. That is totally okay. But they're still continuing with us in doctrine, okay? It's the people that leave here and all of a sudden they want to destroy our works. They want to destroy the works of our friends. They want to change what they believe about salvation. They want to promote lies and promote heresy, and it's like, wait a second. What's going on here? Well, John's saying they are anti-Christ, okay? No lie is of the truth, and this is what he is doing here. He's writing these things so that we can discern these people and learn how to deal with them and also to not be discouraged. So let's go ahead here and jump back to, let's see, verse 22. Verse 22. So then he goes on and says this. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-Christ that denieth the Father and the Son. And I must have got somebody upset last week because they wrote me this long email. I mean, I couldn't even read it all. I'm not going to take the time to read that. But it was just basically how we're wrong because there's only one God in the Trinity's false doctrine. It was made up in some century, and I just, okay, I'm done with this here. But you're going to see that really being promoted. I mean, think about it. We've heard that anti-Christ shall come. And what does he want? He wants to be worshiped. And he's going to have a hard time making up a Trinity. So it makes sense that if the devil could now start to really push this idea of oneness. And so what are some groups out there that teach oneness? Well, the apostolics, some Pentecostals, some supposed Baptists teach that. It's all over the place. But go look at the verse again. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ, okay? He is the Christ. That's not his last name. His birth certificate doesn't just say Jesus Christ like last name, right? He's Christ. Christ means Messiah. He's the Savior, right? He's the propitiation for our sins, okay? That's what he is saying there. Who's a guy who denies that Jesus is the Christ that lives here in Idaho in the Treasure Valley? Sam Gipp, that's right. Treasure Valley Baptist Church. So what does the Bible say about him? Well, he's a liar, right? The truth is not in him. In fact, he is anti-Christ. And what doctrine does he promote the most? Zionism, that's right, right? You know, the Jews are just loving that doctrine, okay? That's what he teaches. And you know what? I charge the leadership there for even tolerating that and even tolerating him. You know, I'm not going to blame the average person that goes in there. They have no idea. They're not more than likely reading their Bibles, you know? They don't get this, but they should, right? We're going to get it. We're going to understand it. And you say, this is a pretty harsh thing to say. Well, no, it's not as harsh as saying that he's not your Messiah because that's what Sam Gipp said, right? He literally preached that. He said, unless you're a Jew, like a physical Jew, that he's not your Messiah or he's not your Christ or something stupid like that. Everything that guy says is ridiculous, okay? Just know that. And you'll see what I'm talking about. But basically, he denies that Jesus is the Messiah. And look, he's definitely not alone. There are a lot of other ways that this takes form and we're going to take a look at that. Look at verse 23. Whosoever denieth the Son, now notice this, the same hath not the Father. Okay? So are they the same exact person? No. Right? You can't have one without the other. It doesn't make any sense. But he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. So, again, what is something that he teaches and that he promotes and that he pushes? Well, they have the Father, okay? John Hagee teaches this stuff as well. He'll say, well, they're looking to the Father. No, they aren't. They don't want any of that stuff. They want the money. And that's not being racist. That's just what it is. That's what they're after. They're after monetary gain and control and power. That's what that nation wants. Right? They want to destroy people's lives and take what they have. Really, most of those people in modern day Israel, they're not even like the Pharisees. They're like the Sadducees gone completely wild. Well, they don't even believe the Torah. They don't believe in the afterlife. They don't believe in any of that stuff. And what are we told here? Whosoever denieth the Son is not God's chosen person. They are not the apple of God's eye. That is a lie. That is false teaching. It says the same hath not the Father. So do they have the Father? No. No, they don't. Why? Because they don't have the Son. It's so simple to understand. But yet today we are looked at and we are called anti-Semitic because of that. In fact, the ADL did a piece on our church after the Red Hot Preaching Conference, you know, because of things that were said there. And they're like, these are all the pastors that are anti-Semitic and, you know, homophobic and all this stuff. Whatever. I was preaching the Bible, man. Look, I hate queers. We all do. Let's just be clear about that. Hate the queers. But I don't hate your average Jew. We want them to be saved. Isn't that what Paul said? We want them to be saved. Now, do I hate the leadership that are running around and promoting lies and spitting out every time someone says the name of Christ? Of course we do. Just like David would hate those same people. Someone who was born in the land of Israel. He would look at those people today and say, I hate them with perfect hatred. Because they have made their choice. They have gone the way of Balaam. And they are preaching hate about our Lord. So of course we're going to hate them. But not just every single Jew alive. We don't hate those. We want to see them saved and believe on Christ because that's what he would want. Now, let's do a quick review. Go to 1 John 1. 1 John 1. Because I posed this question here. So, how do people deny Christ? Because it seems like so many people today that we talk to, they'll at least acknowledge him. They'll say, I believe in Christ. Have a nice day. And they'll slam the door. Are they lying? Or in their minds, do they really think that they believe on Christ? Well, in their minds, they go to their new evangelical church and they really do believe, well, I'm on the side of the Lord. I'm a Christian. Or they'll say, I'm a Christian by default. My uncles, they were all ministers. And so that kind of by default makes me a Christian. Right? And they're like, so this verse doesn't apply to me. Whosoever denieth the Son. Well, I don't deny the Son. I believe that, you know, I believe the Bible. I believe Jesus. But when you really dig down deep, and you don't even have to go that deep, you're going to learn something. They're actually denying him right before your face. And you say, well, how? Let me show you that. Look at verse number 1. It says, that which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled. Interesting. What does he say next? The, of the word of life. Right? So what are we going to start to talk about here? The word. Again, when we started this series out, what did we talk about at the beginning of the chapter here? That you can't separate Jesus Christ from the word of God. Right? He's always referred to, he's referred to often, in other words, as the word. Okay? Why is that? It allows us to know and to understand that this book that we have, his words that he spoke, are different than any other words that are out there on the planet. Okay? Let's keep reading. Verse number 2. It says, for the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us. Right? Think about this. Christ is already ascended up into heaven, and John is basically saying, hey, this same word is what we're giving you. We're giving you the same experience. We're giving you the same inspiration that was passed on to us. Verse number 3. It says, that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us, and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. Again, you cannot separate Jesus Christ from the Bible, but what does modern day Christianity do? They separate the two. Right? Guys like Andy Stanley, Charles Stanley's son, if you don't know who that is, he is really big on this. You don't need the Bible. I've even seen clips of him saying that. We don't need the Bible. You're not a Christian because you heard the Bible, or because you have the Bible, or because someone told you about the Bible. Well, excuse me. How do you learn about Christ? Why is he referred to as the Word of Life? They have no answer for that. Go to Psalm chapter number 12. Psalm chapter number 12. So again, how do people deny Jesus today? They do that by denying the Word of God. So when you ask somebody, hey, that's great, you go to church, that's great, you teach Sunday school, hey, that's great what you're telling me so far, but let me ask you a question. Do you believe that the Bible's true? What do they almost always say? Nope. I don't really believe that Jonah, that guy, really got swallowed by a whale. You say, yeah, but Jesus confirmed it. Well, you know, to each his own. It depends on who translated what. We just have love and coexist today. We just have judgment today. That's what's being taught out there. That's what a lot of people believe. Because here's the thing. What was it? Last year, I think, we started getting into this cycle where we're talking to these people and they're giving us the right answers. And I'm like, what is going on here? There's no way all these people are saved. So we started adding a fourth question. Do you believe the Bible is true without error? Oh, no. Oh, no, of course not. You know, they're speaking to us almost like we agree with them. And we're like, yeah, you're not saved. You are not saved. Well, we need to have a talk. You need some correction. Whoever told you that is an antichrist. Because no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? The moment you say that this book did not come from the Lord Jesus Christ, that it did not come from God, you are a liar. And you cannot get someone saved. So let's talk about this here since it's part of our review before we get to chapter three. Psalm chapter 12, look at verses six through seven. Look what it says. It says, the words of the Lord are pure words, as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shall keep them, O Lord, then thou shalt, or I'm sorry, then shalt preserve them from this generation forever. Go to Psalm chapter 119. Psalm chapter 119. So what does that mean? Well, these, again, are not words like any other book, okay? You know what I find funny, too, is that these Christians and these college professors are not on a crusade to change Shakespeare, are they? No. Well, we don't want to dumb that down. We don't want to take the these and the thus and the ifs out. Are you kidding me? That's not good. That would change the whole meaning. They say this type of stuff, right? But why is it okay to change the English Bible? They don't want to touch Homer's Iliad. They don't want to touch any of these other works. They don't want to touch anything by Aristotle. They don't want to change, well, some people want to change Dr. Seuss, but that's a whole other conversation. But you get the point, right? Most Christians, if you tell them today, oh, you don't believe the Bible's true, okay, do you think that we should change Shakespeare? Of course not. I went to college. You shouldn't change that. You know why they get defensive on that? Because then that downplays their little degree that they earned. That's what it does. That's an attack on your intelligence now. And that attacks their religion, which is what? Human achievement. Okay? Psalm 119, look at verse 89. Very familiar verse. I read this all the time. Forever oh Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. Forever oh Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. And what are we told today? That we have the word of life. These things which were from the beginning, okay? These words are eternal words. Now can man mess them up? Of course. Go pick up an NIV. Go pick up an ESV. Go pick up an NASB. And you'll see that man does tamper with God's word. But you know what? Man cannot destroy what God has done. Man cannot destroy what has been settled in heaven from the beginning of time. It's impossible. We read in Psalm chapter 12, it says, Thou shall preserve them from this generation forever. Well, has forever like ended? So that means we have the words of God somewhere on this earth, okay? And I think it's pretty obvious which English book it is. Now look at verse 90. Thy faithfulness is unto all generations. Thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. Now go to 2 Timothy chapter number 3. So again, this is why I say, hey, look. If God can make the heavens and the earth, which He obviously did, if He can write His law into our hearts, then why wouldn't His faithfulness also be applied to His words? It doesn't make any sense. And it's because, oh, of course, He is faithful. He has passed down His truth unto all generations, and we have it, and we need to be thankful for that. You don't have to turn there, but Matthew 24, 35 says, heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Look, that is a guarantee from Jesus Christ Himself. Now why won't they pass away? Because they were settled in heaven, okay? This book is not like any other book. But what happens today is you've got these so-called Christians, and they view this just like any other book. Well, it has to keep up with the times. It has to constantly be changed. And by doing that, you are denying the Messiah. You are denying the Savior. So that's why when you get to Matthew chapter 7, you're like, man, that's crazy. All these people doing great works, seemingly, are getting tossed into hell. How can that be? Well, they denied the Savior. They denied Christ. Okay? They're doing all these things in His name. They came in His name. Hey, we're here in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ who died on a cross. Just turn from your sins and put all your trust on Him. Okay? As soon as you cross, you're done. You are preaching false gospel. You have denied the Savior. And it's just going to get bad for you. 2 Timothy 3, look at verse 15, it says, And now from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures. Again, look, the Bible, what does it say about itself that it's not like any other book? Our Savior is not like Buddha, not like all of them, not like these other idols that are out there. And that is very evident and very clear. And it's also very evident and very clear that this book is not like the other books. This book is not like the ESV. It's not like the NIV or the HIV, whatever they are. Look what it says. Known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus. Okay? The moment you don't view this book as holy, as sanctified, as set apart, as what it is, you are denying Christ and you are no longer able to make someone wise unto salvation. So what you have to do now is to rely on human achievement, rely on works, and start using analogies and books and oh, you know, science confirms the Bible, you know, and now science has become your foundation and that's become how you go when you prove things. Look, a lot of that stuff is very interesting. I get it. I understand that. Okay? But it's not as interesting as what you have available to you, which is the Word of God, the King James Bible, and the English language. So he goes on to say this, all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. How do we learn how to be righteous? From the Word of God. He imputes that unto us. He gives that to us. He puts that into us when we accept him. Right? And so the works that we do for him after that point are righteous acts. Right? Because the works that we do apart from him are what? Filthy rags. Go to 2 Peter, chapter number 1. 2 Peter, chapter number 1, and look at verse number 20. What did we just read there? All scripture is given by inspiration of God. Was Shakespeare given by inspiration of God? No. Was Idaho State Legislature, you know, 32.5 or whatever it is, you know, was that given by inspiration of God? No. They would like you to say yes, but no, it's not. So again, why read all these? To show you. Look, the Word of God is not like any other book. And when people deny the book, they deny Christ. They deny the Savior because this book is what makes you wise in salvation. You're not going to get a night vision. You're not going to get visited like Cornelius did. Those things have passed. Okay? So we have the completed revelation of God. We have the Word of God, which, you know, starts in eternity, beginning and eternity future. Okay? We understand that. So you're there in 2 Peter, chapter 1. Look at verse 20. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man, but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. Okay? So what happens when you don't believe that that is true? You are separating the Word of God from the Word of God, and you can't do that. Go to Hebrews chapter number 4. Hebrews chapter number 4. Look at verse number 12. Actually, let me turn there myself. Hebrews chapter number 4. Look at verse number 12. It says, for the Word of God is quick and powerful. Sharper than any two-edged sword. Okay? That's a very interesting thing to say about a book. About just any old book. Right? Sharper than any two-edged sword, and here's why. Piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit. Now what happens after that? Should be a comma there. Okay? Soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow. So what do you have here? You have soul and spirit, joints and marrow. Okay? I've seen this before, but I feel it necessary to explain it again. We are three-part beings. We have the flesh, which is referred to as joints and marrow, right? Just your body. And then you have a soul. Now your soul is who you are, right? That's how we know one from another, okay? Because of our soul. Now what is the spirit? Well, that's what gives us life. What happens to the spirit when the body is dead? The spirit goes back to God whom gave it. Go read Ecclesiastes. It'll teach you that, okay? So the unsaved person is walking around with obviously body, they have soul, and they have spirit, okay? What does the word of God do to somebody who accepts it? Yep. It says piercing even to the dividing asunder. What does dividing asunder mean? Dividing in half, cuts in half. So the word of God, these words, what they do when a person accepts Christ, that word of God literally takes that soul and spirit and attaches them together and divides it from the joints of marrow, which is the old man. You see that? It joins together the spirit and the soul. So now when the body dies, that spirit's going up and the soul's going with it because it attaches to the spirit, okay? That's what he's saying. Can any other book do anything like that? No, of course not. We all know that to be true. Dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joints of marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. So after salvation, we get that anointing or that unction and we can know all things. We can learn what the word of God says and we can apply that stuff to our lives. And again, like I talked about this morning, the word of God will offend us. It'll offend us all. Right? I mean, that's what it is. It's correction. It is a big book of admonishment and reproof and we need to accept that, right? It's part of the deal. It is part of business. Go to 1 Corinthians chapter number 15. 1 Corinthians chapter number 15. And while you're turning there, I'm going to read for you Psalm 138 2 which says this, I will worship toward thy holy temple and praise thy name for thy loving kindness and for thy truth. So if the words of God were just kind of like, eh, whatever, you know, they're subject to change, why would David write that? Listen to what he says next, for thou has magnified thy word above thy name. Why would he do that if this was just any old book? If this was down here with Dr. Seuss or with, you know, the Bible way to heaven for dummies or something like that, you know, a cookbook doesn't make any sense. This is not your average ordinary book. This far supersedes anything that man has ever put together and ever will put together. 1 Corinthians chapter number 15. Look at verse number 1. This is the Gospel here. Look what he says. Paul says this to the Corinthians. He says, Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received and wherein ye stand. Okay? Look, that is this church here. We've received the Gospel. This is where we stand. But we got it from this book. It wasn't some angel that came down and gave it to us. No, we're not in that time yet. Okay? Look what he says in verse number 2. Because obviously we know that after God pours out his wrath, there will be the two witnesses or the two prophets that will go around and preaching the 144,000 and then the angels preaching the Gospel. We get that. But okay, right now, the way you get saved, word of God. Verse 2, By which also ye are saved. Now notice this, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. This is another thing that we have to wrestle and deal with. Right? You explain the Gospel with somebody and maybe they even keep coming to church, but they really didn't get it. They really didn't understand it. They just gave it lip service. They just believed it in vain, meaning they didn't really believe it to begin with. Remember verse number 3 says, For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. Interesting. 2,000 years ago, Paul is making a big deal about our salvation being tied to the Scriptures, the word of God, which is inspired, verse 4, and that he was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. Verse 5, And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve. And after that he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. Now let's go back to 1 John and get going because we have to get caught up to chapter 3 where we started reading, first of all. So again, look back again at verse number 23, 1 John 2.23 says this, Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father, but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath a Father also. Okay? Very simple to understand that. People are denying him in bold word like Sam Gipp or John Hagee and their predecessors, or they're denying him by saying, hey, the Bible isn't true. There's mistakes. It's not preserved. Okay? And this is the position that most people have today. Most people taking it sad, sorry, I hate it with an absolute passion, and I'll preach against it whenever I get the chance. Verse 24, he says there, he says this, Let that therefore abide in you. What does that mean? Let that truth that he just spoke abide in you. Right? Understand, when people deny the Christ, when they deny who Jesus is, when they separate the Word of God from the Word of God, right, he's saying, Look that therefore abide in you. Would ye have heard from the beginning? If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son and in the Father. This is basically saying, if you heard the Word of God and you didn't believe in vain, guess what? You have the ability to discern these types of people. Look at verse 25, and this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. Look, eternal life is a promise. It's a guarantee from a book that is not like any other book in the world. But the world doesn't like that. The world doesn't want to fellowship with that because that takes away the human achievement aspect. That takes away the works of the world. Verse 26, the purpose clause, these things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. Concerning them that seduce you. So he's saying, Look, I've already told you, I wrote these things not because you don't know the truth, but because you know it. And he's like, I'm also writing these things to you because these types of people are so good that they can come into your congregation and they can trick you. They can actually seduce you. They can get you off on the wrong track. That's what happened to the Corinthians. That's what happened to the Galatians. That's what's going on in some of the churches in the book of Revelation. And it happens in churches all over the place. Look, there are Baptist churches, even around here, that have the King James Bible and their preacher will tell you that they believe the right gospel and I believe that they believe it. But they'll let somebody get up there and start talking, you know, in like code language about turning from sins, right? We've all, look, most of us have been there. Those churches are all over the place. How does that happen? Because they don't know the book. They don't understand the teaching. They don't understand that when someone denies the Son, when they deny Christ, when they separate the Word of God from the Word of God, they're a bad person. You're dealing with somebody that is bad that you need to get away from as quickly as possible. Look, that's why I went so crazy on Storm when he came in here a couple of years ago because he wanted to challenge the inspiration of the Bible back there. Okay. And we knew it was just a matter of time. We're going to get this guy out of here. Okay. Look at verse 27 says this, but the anointing which you have received of him abideth in you and ye need not, that any man teach you. So again, what is the subject matter here? Them that seduce you. Okay. But everybody takes this verse, right? Hey, do you go to church? I don't like organized religion. I don't go to church. You know, the Bible says I don't need any man teach me. It's not what he's saying. He's saying I'm writing these things unto you to protect you from them that seduce you, right? He's like, you don't need any man teach you because I've already told you these things first of all, but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things and it is truth and is no lie and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. Okay. So with that in mind, now let's roll over to chapter number three. He says this in verse number one, behold what manner of love the father hath bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God. Therefore the world knoweth us not because it kneweth him not or knew him not. Okay. So again, who are the sons of God? The saved, born again, Bible believing Christian. Those are the sons of God. It's not the guys banging their heads against the wall over there in the Middle East. Okay. Let's move on here before we go off on that rabbit trail. Look at verse number two. It says this, beloved, now are we the sons of God? And then he makes this statement. He's going to shift gears here. He says, and it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him for we shall see him as he is. Go to Daniel chapter number 12. Way back in the Old Testament there after Ezekiel, Daniel chapter number 12. So John makes a statement and he says, hey guys, you know, we don't know the full extent of our glorification. Nobody does. You don't know what your body's going to look like when you get to heaven, when you get that new body. Okay. Does anybody in here know like exactly what heaven looks like or even close? Have you had a night vision, right? What colors the temple? You know? No. He says, right? But it doesn't give us the full picture. Okay. These things are a mystery and that's what he's saying, but what can, why does he tell us this? What, what can we glean from this and how do we apply this to our lives? And you're going to see that it's motivation in verse number three, but let's back up for a second. I want you to see this here. Daniel chapter 12. Look at verse number three. So Daniel makes this statement about the end times, people doing great exploits under persecution. And he says this, say, he says, and they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever. How do you turn someone to righteousness? By getting them saved, right? Romans chapter number four, imputation, right? You ingrain that word into your thought process. Romans chapter four describes imputation and what that means. Salvation is apart from works. We do no works to get it right. We hear the word of God. We believe the word of God. We receive the word of God. He imputes what in righteousness. He imputes salvation unto us. He puts that, he inputs that into the new man. Hebrews chapter four verse 12. Okay. And so when we go out there and we're trying to tell people how to be saved, we're leading them into the way of righteousness. The Bible says that you're wise. He that winneth souls is wise, the Bible says. But notice what it says, and they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament. So hold that thought and go to Matthew chapter number six real quick, Matthew chapter number six. So I'm going to connect that here to something in a moment. But before I do that, think about this here. What's something in the Old Testament or in the Bible or even today that kind of makes your physical skin shine? Like some kind of a cream, oil, some kind of a salve, right? You know, you go to the store and you put, obviously I don't do this, I ain't got time for this stuff. But ladies, you guys know what I'm talking about. Don't you put some kind of cream on you to like help your skin? And I'm not against this if you're a dude. You want to put olive oil on your face, that's great, you know. Put it on there, but just wash it off when you're done so you don't look like Jihoo. Okay, look at this here, Matthew six, look at verse seventeen. It says this, so Jesus is teaching about the subject of fasting, and he just makes this statement here. He says this. It says, but thou when thou fastest, anoint thine head and wash thy face. Why does he say that? Look at verse eighteen. That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy father which is in secret, and thy father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. So he makes this statement here and he says, hey, guys, when you fast, don't be like the hypocrites. Don't be like the Pharisees who are running around like, oh, I'm so hungry, hey, I'm really hungry, I'm starving. And you're like, okay, why? Well, okay, since you asked, I'm fasting, I've been fasting for forty days, okay, you know. And you're just puffing yourself up, right? And Jesus is like, no, just anoint yourself, well, typically you anoint yourself, especially back then with oil. There's other verses we could go to. So in the physical, right, the Bible's clear that olive oil is good for you. I mean, it's something that's good for you if you take it in and even if you put it on your skin, apparently there's evidence to show that it can actually make you appear younger and it takes good care of your skin. It can make you shine, so to speak. And that's what he's teaching here. Hey, use this anointing, use this oil, if you will, to make yourself appear healthy, okay? Well, what do we read in Daniel chapter twelve? Those that be wise will shine as the brightness of the stars in the firmament forever and ever. So in John chapter number two, how do we connect these two concepts here? How do we get that shining? Really, if you think about it, well, I'll just give you the answer here. Look at verse number twenty. First John two twenty, but you have an unction from the Holy One and you know all things. Okay, I get that, I understand that, but how does that apply to me shining as the brightness of the stars in the firmament? I don't understand that. Look at verse twenty seven. What's the unction? It says it's the anointing, right, but the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you. You know what he's saying there? When you make that choice to use that anointing in your life, meaning the word of God, and you take that and you're making yourself better and you're going out and you're turning people to righteousness, you're literally anointing yourself with like that oil, that Holy Spirit given oil. Right? And what Jesus is saying in Matthew sixteen, that's a physical picture of that. That's a physical picture of how you can apply the anointing into eternity. So that is just something that I wanted to bring up, a little bit complicated, but I think you get the point. Go back to first John chapter number three. So when he says it does not yet appear what we will be, but our bodies will shine, you know, and so on and so forth, I think it's different for everyone. Nobody in here knows how we're going to finish the race, if that makes sense. You don't know, right? But here's the thing. You determine in your heart and in your mind, you know, I'm going to use this unction. I'm going to use this anointing and anoint my new man and continue to do that apparently when you get into eternity and it's time for you to get your new body, right? If you lived your life here with wisdom, then guess what? You're going to have something really shiny. I don't know, just something interesting, something to think about there. Verse three, and every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. Think about that for a second. And every man that hath this hope, what is this hope? What's the hope of his returning, right? Look at verse number two, beloved, now are we the sons of God and it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him for we shall see him as he is. But we don't have the full picture of our glorification. But one thing that we do know is that we have the opportunity to make it as good as possible. If you're alive and you're breathing, you have the unction, you have the ability to make it a good one, right? You have the ability to take that anointing, that oil, if you will, that unction and really apply it to your life. And you know what? It's not going to cause your, apparently cause your new body to shine bright. So you'd be walking around in eternity and somebody would just look at you and be like, oh, must have been a soul winner, must have been somebody who turned people to righteousness, must have been somebody who prayed for other people, must have been somebody who invested in the brethren. Just something to think about there, look at verse number four. He says this, whosoever comitteth sin transgresseth also the law, for sin is the transgression of the law. And again, this here is a definition of what sin is. I like to use this when I, when I can, if somebody's struggling on, you know, what sin is, you know, you typically, most people get it, but I like to mention this anyways. It's when we drive ourselves through that brick wall, which is called the law, right? If you've ever sinned, you've ever broken God's law, which is everybody in here, guess what? We have transgressed the law. That is what sin is. A lot of people like to say, well, I got right up to that wall, but I didn't break it down. I didn't transgress. I didn't pass through it. You liar. Yes, you did. You at least did it in your mind. Don't give me that garbage. Whosoever comitteth sin transgresseth also the law. We are all law breakers, the Bible says, but verse number five, and ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins and in him is no sin. We know that. We understand that. Look at verse six. Whosoever abideth in him, sinneth not. Whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Now are you starting to see why we have purpose clauses because people read this and I don't blame them. You know, you get confused. Like, wait a minute, what is going on here? Especially the person who's just laying down on the bed, maybe just got saved. Well, let me flip through and they go, look at that. They're going to be all confused. You know, even being saved, okay? Even being saved. Whosoever abideth in him, sinneth not. Well, man, I just had a fuller thought. I just yelled at my brother. I just, well, whatever it is, you know, I just said something real nasty to the guy that cut me off down here on Colin in Franklin, man, you know, what's going on here? What is that talking about? Whosoever abideth in him, sinneth not. Well, let's think about this for a second. Who abides in Christ? Is it the old man or the new man? It's the new man. So whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. This all goes back to Hebrews chapter 4, which we've already read in verse number 12. So not to reread that, go to Colossians chapter number 2. Colossians chapter number 2. So again, the word of God is not like any other book. It divides the body, which is the old man, from the new man. And as you'll see as we keep reading, the new man cannot sin. That new man is perfect because it was born of Christ. It does not sin. The sin comes from that old nature, okay? And so whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Well, that's the old man. That's what he's talking about there. Or the person who just doesn't know Christ, okay? They continually sinneth. And you say, well, didn't you say that he paid the sin debt for the whole world? Yeah. And that's your opportunity to get saved, okay? That means, guess what, I don't have to pay for my sin. It's impossible. We're too far in debt. You're too, by the time you're six, seven years old, there's no way you could pay them all back because the sins are even counted in the mind. Colossians 2, look at verse 13. He says, in you being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses. Again, and you, talking to the Colossians, talking to that congregation, talking to that body there, he says being dead in your sins. Just because he paid the sin debt of the whole world doesn't mean the whole world is saved. We've talked about this in great detail. He's saying, hey, before you're saved, you will literally die in your sins. And you say, well, how can that be if he paid the sin debt? Well, because everybody who is not saved, atheists, I don't care what you are. You know what they're doing? They're in the religion of human achievement, and they are living their lives just constantly throwing down tickets, trying to pay, trying to pay. And they're building themselves up this huge mound of works that they believe will carry them if there is an afterlife or whatever. Excuse after excuse after excuse. Oh, here's somebody I helped out. You know, I kind of followed the law today. I went the speed limit. And they've got all these works. All of those are sins, because it's a slap in the face to reject what Christ did on the cross. So Paul says you are dead in your sins. He already paid for them all, and you're sitting here trying to pay for them yourself. So die in them. You don't have to turn there, but John chapter 8, verse 24, Jesus makes this statement. He says, I said, therefore, unto you, and he's talking to these Pharisees and these Sadducees and these scribes that don't believe on him and these Jews. He says this, that ye shall die in your sins, for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. So they're going to die, and someday the great white throne judgment will commence, and the books will be opened. And they'll say, you see all of this stuff here, all of the stuff that you did here? You're going to die in all of that. That's why you're going to hell. And they're going to say, yeah, but you died for the sins of the whole world. Everybody coexists, blah, blah, blah, no judgment. Nope. You rejected that. Because you didn't believe me. If you believe not that I am he, ye shall die in those sins. Because he's saying, I've already paid the price for him. I picked up the tab, and you rejected it. So now have fun in the lake of fire. So go back to 1 John chapter number 3. Look at verse number 7. We're only going to make it to verse 8 tonight, but we've got like two more passages to go over. All right. Let's look at this here. 1 John chapter 3. We'll look at verse 6 again. So whosoever abideth in him sitteth not. What does abide mean? It means to stay. So when you accept the word of God and you're born again, you're placed into his hand. You're placed into the body of Christ. So you're in him. You don't sin because it's the new man that's placed inside of him. We understand that. Look at verse number 7. Little children, let no man deceive you. He that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. Now some people will look at that and say, well, I don't know. You keep bashing John Hagee, but he feeds the poor. You keep talking about Joel Osteen, but he feeds the poor. You keep talking about these people, but they help people. And you keep talking about Andy Stanley, you keep talking about John MacArthur, and they have all of these works which are righteous. So I think you're wrong there, Mr. Jones. And that's what people will say to me. But they don't understand what this means. Little children, who are little children that's saved, let no man deceive you. He that doeth righteousness is righteous. How do you do righteousness? You've got to be saved, right? John 6.40, and this is the will of him that sent me, that everyone which seeth the Son and believeth on him. Taking that step to place that measure of faith which Christ gave you onto him, right? You're doing righteous. It's a righteous thing to do. Yes, you have to place your faith on Christ. It's not a work, okay? But that is doing righteous. So now when you're doing works in his name, now you're doing righteous. So when someone tells you the right gospel and you've checked them, they believe the Bible, they believe like us, right? Guess what? They are righteous. They're doing righteous. So if they mess up tomorrow and do something wrong or silly, you know, we shouldn't be so quick to just like, ah, man, maybe he's not saved, right? Someone said a cuss word, not saved. I saw you walk down the wrong aisle at the store, you're not saved, you know? Whatever the case is, that's what he's saying, let no man deceive you. He that doeth righteousness is righteous. So if they've done the will of God, they've gotten saved, you know that, right? They're not just paying lip service, then they do righteousness, okay? They're able to go out and win souls. Now here's the problem, and here's one thing that I've noticed, and I think a lot of you have noticed this, when bad people come in here and they are pretending to be like us, they're always weird out-souling, aren't they? There's always something very strange with their gospel presentation, or they'll reject counsel, they'll reject help out-souling, they will try to start fights out-souling, they will try to do something to disrupt, they'll disrupt the order, that's why I'm really big on the order. Look, I don't care how you guys do it. I like to do knock-til-you-talk, but if you come to me and say, hey, I would like to knock every other door, we'll do that, as long as something is established, because the Bible says to let things be done decently and in order, okay? And when you get somebody who is constantly, after being told, disrupting that order, okay? I'm just saying that's a red flag. That's all I'm saying, it is a red flag, and that's what the Grand Wizard used to do. That's what Stormtrooper used to do. That's what every single person whom we've kicked out of this church has done. They have done something very, very disruptive out-souling, even False Nimrod, right? Just standing there, hey, hey, you know, just little stupid things like that to throw you off of your game. Sometimes I don't even think that they realize they're doing that, but I think it's who's controlling them, because they are Antichrists, that is what they are, and they will do the will of their Father, which is what? To disrupt the will of our Father, to stop people from getting saved, you know, or they'll come in here and try to give our church a bad name, they'll bring a guest, and then if you don't just fawn all over them, oh, well, you're an unloving church. It's another thing the Grand Wizard did. I'm bringing my sister, but I think she's a dog, maybe not, I don't know, can you help her out? Well, actually, she's going to hate this place, I just know it. Yeah, I'm really going to be excited to go talk to somebody after you just said that, okay? No one else does that type of stuff in here, you ever notice that? Anybody in here that I'm looking at, no one does that stuff, or has ever done that. It's ridiculous. Little children, let no man deceive you. He that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. We've all got issues, we've all got problems, whatever. Here's the thing, I can go soul-winding with anybody in this room right now, and I know you're not going to disrupt the presentation. You're not going to be like, you know, and it's so funny, because they'll even say things that are true, they'll just cut you off and just be a jerk and say something that's true, but it's not the right timing. You know, you'll say something, and maybe you'll be given a verse and trying to explain, and they'll be like, hold on, is that an NIV you got back there? Because we don't subscribe to that. And it's like, yeah, that's true, but it's not the time to say that. You're making us look stupid is what you're doing. This is what these people do. So just what he's teaching here is, hey, somebody's saved, and you know how people get saved, they're able to do righteous things. They're going to mess up, they're going to make mistakes, they might even get out of order of soul-winding. They might be hard to get along with, but that doesn't necessarily make them unsaved. But it's when this stuff becomes a pattern, and it's just every single time you've got an issue out of soul-winding, you just refuse counsel. I have to bail you out of your gospel presentation, and all of a sudden you're going to send me messages in the middle of the night telling me how ungodly I am, how ungodly this church is, and how you know everything, and you're going to pray for me and for our church to be righteous. Man, shut your mouth, you devil. That is so stupid. You are an anti-Christ, and yes, I called you an apostate, and you heard it here first. Verse number eight, he that committeth sin is of the devil, okay? Who's had this one thrown at the mouth, soul-winding? Well, I don't sin anymore, okay? Because the Bible says, whoever sins is of the devil, and I'm not a child of the devil. We're going to talk about that here. He that committeth sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Couple of questions here, okay? Let's see here, where are we at? Go to Galatians chapter four. Galatians chapter number four. Let's pose this question here, okay? When a baby is born, are they automatically the child of the devil? No, okay? Aiden, baby Aiden, the BK broiler, okay? Baby Solomon, baby Titus, they're not devils, okay? Now some of y'all might, there may be times where you're like, oh, what's going on, you know, but I'm just kidding. Because what people will say is he that committeth sin is of the devil, and they'll say, you know what, we were all children of the devil at one point. They'll just insert that. We were all children of the devil, and they like to attack what we teach known as the reprobate doctrine. They like to attack that and say, well, you say, I heard you say this morning that if you're the child of the devil, you can't be saved. Yeah, that's what I said, and I proved it, okay? It's obvious. It's all throughout the Bible. But the problem is this doesn't say he that committeth sin is the child of the devil, is of the devil, and for this purpose, because of that, Christ was born. He was made known. His word is manifested, okay? So we know that can't be true. So when a baby is born, are they automatically the child of the devil? No. How about this? When a child reaches the age of accountability, do they automatically become the child of the devil? No. No. They worship the devil. No. That's ridiculous. So what does that mean? Well, obviously, we know that the devil runs the course of this world, okay? This world is going in a certain way, a certain pattern, right? And right now, the sodomites and all that type of stuff is what's trending. It's what's cool. It's what's being pushed. Well, he's at the top of that. He is orchestrating that, okay? He is in charge. He owns and operates the course of this world. So when you are of the world, well, you're of the devil, so to speak. Galatians chapter 4, look at verse number 3. Paul puts it to the Galatians like this. He says, even so, when we were children, we're in bondage under the elements of the world, okay? Just another way of saying what John said, whosoever committed sin is of the devil. So at some point, we have all been of the devil because we all had to get saved out of the world, out of the course or the elements of the world. Verse number 4, but when the fullness of the times was come, God sent forth his son made of a woman, made under the law, look at this, verse 5, to redeem them that were under the law that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the spirit of his son into your hearts, crying Abba, Father. So again, that is the unction, that is the anointing. We have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and we can know the things of God. Verse number 7, wherefore thou are no more a servant, but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. So again, all going back to the word of God, the inspired, written word of God. So go back to 1 John, chapter number 3, and look at that verse again, and he says this, he that committeth sin is of the devil. Look, if you don't believe on Christ, you're actively living in a sin. It's that simple. You know, you ever thought about that? You know it's a sin to reject Christ, so yeah, but he paid for that, so I just automatically get it. No, that's ridiculous, okay? Obviously, he paid for our sins, but you still have to accept him, and you still have to accept that gift of salvation, so he's just saying, he that committeth sin is of the devil. The first time you transgressed the law, that's because the course of this world and our fallen nature propelled you to do that. That's what he's saying, okay? At some point, we have been of the devil, meaning his source. He is the one who has corrupted man, I mean, he's the one that basically enticed Eve, you know, hey, go ahead and eat that, yea hath God said, so all goes back to that. So he that committeth sin is of the devil. Doesn't say he is a child of the devil, but of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning for this purpose, the son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. That's why in John chapter number 19, what did Jesus say? It is finished. He's saying, hey, look, I have destroyed his works. I paid the debt. Now all you have to do is very simple, is just come to me. Trust me, that's what Jesus is saying, okay? And that's the message here. Now, let's see here, we got, go to Matthew chapter 13. We can go through this real quick here. We can go through this here real quickly, hopefully. Matthew chapter number 13. So when a person, when a person becomes, let's just put it this way, when a person becomes an actual child of the devil, okay? First of all, they'll tell you about it, typically, okay? A lot of these musicians and a lot of these actors will say, I sold my soul to the devil, okay? It's a conscious choice that they've done. They have rituals. They have things and processes that they go through to do that. They know what they're doing, okay? Now, did the devil make them do that? No, he doesn't make people like you worship me right now, and he just takes people and forces them to worship. He doesn't do that. A person has to make that choice, okay? And so I'm bringing that up because a person becomes a child of the devil through choice, because of the works of the devil, because of his works. He entices people to do that. He doesn't force them to do that. Hopefully that makes sense. So he that commiteth sin is of the devil. It doesn't say he that commiteth sin is the child of the devil. So let's see here. Matthew chapter number 13. Let's look at this parable here real quick. So it says this. Another parable, verse 24, Matthew 13, 24, another parable put he forth unto them, saying, the kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field. But while men slapped, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. Verse 26, but when the blade was sprung up and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. Stop right there. Kind of interesting that we were talking about soloning today, and a lot of times these people are manifested out soloning. Look at that verse there. But when the blade was sprung up and brought forth fruit, kind of interesting, when we go out there and when a church comes to town with a soloning program, all of a sudden, it's like the devils just know which building to go into, which congregation they're going to head towards, right? But when the blade was sprung up and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So what do we need to know and understand? That these tares will come in here over and over and over again, and they will start to manifest themselves through our soloning program, okay? That is their purpose. That is their desire. That is what the devil is doing. They are children of the devil, as we'll see in a moment. Look at verse 27. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst thou not sow good seed in thy field? From whence then hath it tares? Now look at verse 28. He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servant said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? Verse 29. But he said, Nay, lest while ye gather up the tares ye root up also the wheat with them. Verse 30. Let both grow together until the harvest. And in the time of harvest, I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn. What is that a reference to? Oh, Matthew chapter 24, the day of the Lord. On that same day that we're out of here, guess what? God is going to pour out his wrath on this earth. There will be fires, and these people are going to be destroyed. Hell on earth literally commences. And who's left behind by and large? The tares. You say, well, how are the tares the children of the devil? Let's go down to verse 36 real quickly. We're almost done. I'm going to wrap this up here in a moment. And Jesus explains this parable, because he gives some other parables, and they're like, wait, wait, wait a second. Go back to that one about the weeds. What's that one all about? What's going on there? So verse 36, then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house, and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. Verse 37, he answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the son of man. How is that possible? Well, through his word today, the word of God, okay? Look at verse 38. The field is the world. The good seed are the children of the kingdom, but the tares are the children of the wicked one. So here he's being very clear. Now, here he's explaining what this parable means, and he mentions two kinds of people. We know there's three. You have the children of God, you have the children of the devil, and you have those who have not made up their mind yet, okay? They are not our enemies. They just don't believe, they just haven't been reached yet. It is what it is, okay? But what I want you to notice here, he says this very clearly, the field is the world, the good seed are the children of the kingdom, but the tares are the children of the wicked one. What does that mean? Can a tare ever become wheat? Can a wheat ever become wheat? It's a different product. Can wheat ever become a tare? Nope. Nope. Things breed forth after their own kind. So can the child of a devil ever become the child of God? Nope. Two different products, two different fathers, two different everything. Can the child of God become the child of the devil? No. Doesn't happen. You read in 1 John chapter number 3, and it says, he that committed sin is of the devil, okay? Well, we know that we all sin, right? We know that these things are written to us that we can know that we can believe and be saved and we're saved forever. Guess what? He's talking about something different. He's talking about just all of us. At some point, we were all of the devil, right? So we need to know what the child of a devil is, and it's right here in this passage very clearly. Very clearly. Look at verse 39, the enemy that sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the world, and the reapers are the angels. Verse 40, as therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so shall it be in the end of this world. Verse 41, the son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom, all things that offend, and them which do iniquity, and shall cast them into a furnace of fire, and there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. And shall the righteous shine forth as the son in the kingdom of their father, who hath ears to hear, let him hear. And that is a mouthful. This has been a long sermon, I apologize. We will revisit a lot of this stuff, but I just wanted to point out that, let's look at it one more time. First John chapter three, verse number eight. He that committeth sin is of the devil. Again, it's not talking about us being the child of a devil, because we just saw in this parable here that the child of the devil can never become the child of God. That's why Jesus likens them unto weeds or tares. We know that a weed cannot be changed into something like wheat or an apple or an orange or anything like that. That's impossible. Okay? So he that committeth sin is of the devil. All that saying is that we are all sinners, and we've all come short of the glory of God. Okay? And we have to be saved. That's why he was manifest, to take away the sins of the world, so that whosoever believeth on him would be saved and have everlasting life. And you guys know that story. So we're going to stop right there. We're going to kind of revisit some of this here next week again, and we'll finish out the chapter hopefully. And so with that being said, keep in mind, these things are written so that we wouldn't be seduced. To them that seduce you. Okay? And so with that, understanding that, you need to know the signs. Need to know what the child of the devil is. What is his purpose? What is his mission? His mission is to stop us from going out into the world and preaching the gospel. And that's why they will come in here and give us a bad name and let's start a fight over here. Let's do this. Let's go to the park and call people hoes and skanks and, you know, let's do all this stuff. It's to cause trouble. It's to disrupt the works of our Father, because they serve their Father. Let's stop right there and pray. Thank you again, Lord, for these great words and just for this great well of knowledge, Lord, that is in these epistles all throughout the book. Let's pray that nobody in here would ever struggle with the fact that you are the Word of God, preserved, faithful unto all generations. Lord, please help us to just spot this behavior again in the future because it tends to get harder and harder with each one, Lord. And we just pray that you would be with us as we go throughout the week and keep us safe. In Jesus' name I pray, amen. Amen. All right. Let's grab the hymn book one final time this evening and turn to song number 328, I Want That Mountain. Great song, 328, I Want That Mountain. I want that mountain where the milk and honey go, where the grapes always grow, where the I want that mountain, I want that mountain, the mountain that my Lord has given me. There was a giant loneliness who said I wouldn't go, I was the one who made me free. I'll come from the wilderness, I'll witness how I know, I want that mountain it belongs to me. I want that mountain, I want that mountain where the milk and honey go, where the grapes always grow, I want that mountain it belongs to me. I want that mountain, the mountain that my Lord has given me. I want that mountain, I want that mountain where the milk and honey go, where the grapes always grow, I want that mountain it belongs to me. I want that mountain, the mountain that my Lord has given me. Amen. Amen. Brother Kaitlin, close this out, please. All right, dear Lord, thank you for this time we have. We hear your word, you preach. I ask that you please bless the rest of our evening. The fellowship will come and help us to apply what we learned tonight to our lives. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
