Well, let's take our bulletins this morning. We'll look at some announcements. If you do not have a bulletin this morning, just raise your hand and one of our ushers can get one for you. If you need a bulletin, just put your hand up and we will get one for you. The verse of this week, Philippians 4, rejoice in the Lord always. That's a good verse there. We like that. If you open up your bulletin, you'll see our service time Sunday morning service, 10 30 a.m. And we are glad that you are with us, of course, on Sunday morning on the Lord's day for church Sunday evening service tonight at 6 p.m. We'd love you to join us for the evening service. And we have our Wednesday evening Bible study tonight at 7 p.m. Excuse me, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. We'd love you to join us for the midweek service. If you look at our soul winning times, our main soul winning times on Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. And then we have additional soul winning times on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays at 2 p.m. So if you'd like to go soul winning this afternoon, there'll be an opportunity for you to be able to do that. If you are a first time guest, if it's your first time here at Verity Baptist Church, we're glad you're with us. We have a gift we'd like to give you as you walk out of the church building this morning. If you got our main foyer or if you got our secondary foyer, you'll see a little table set up and on that table you'll see these little gift bags. Please grab one on your way out as a gift from us to you for being our guest this morning. There are several resources in this bag that we'd like you to have, but the one that I'd like to highlight is this documentary that our church made. It's called Being Baptist. It's very well made, very interesting. We think you'll like it and we want to give this to you as a gift. So please make sure you don't leave here this morning without grabbing one of those gift bags on your way out. And if you are a guest, we'd ask that you please take a moment to fill out the communication card which is inserted in your bulletin. If you need a pen, just raise your hand and one of our ushers can bring you by a Verity Baptist Church pen. You're welcome to keep the pen as a gift from us as well. We're not going to do anything odd with your info. We would just like to have a record of your attendance. We actually would like to send you a little gift, but we need your information to do that. So please take a moment to fill the card out. When we're done with the announcements, we're going to sing a song. When we're done singing, we're going to receive the offering. And as the offering plate goes by, you can drop this card in the offering plate. If you notice there in our announcements, we of course are a family integrated church. What that means is that children and infants are always welcome in the service. We do not separate children from their parents for any reason. However, we do have mother-baby rooms and daddy rooms available for your convenience. All of the rooms have comfortable seating. We have monitors set up so you can watch the service and listen to it. So if you have a child that's been distracting during the service or if you need some privacy, we would encourage you to please use those mother-baby rooms. If you're not sure where they're at, you can look at the back of the bulletin. You'll see a layout of our church building. It'll show you where the mother-baby rooms are, where the daddy room is. It'll show you where the restrooms are. And of course if you need to be baptized, please let us know. We'd love to baptize you. The baptistry is filled, the water is warm. We've got everything you need for you to be baptized. You can let us know on your communication card on the back. You can check off that you'd like information about baptism and we'll follow up with you and talk to you about that. Or if you've already spoken to somebody, you know you need to be baptized, all you need to do is at the end of the service after we are done with the preaching, when we're singing the last song, if you step out that door, one of our staff guys will meet you there and we will get you situated for baptism. If you look at the announcements and upcoming events, of course we've got our sermon series that we're going through. We're going to take a break from the Wilderness Wandering Sermons today, this morning, and this evening. And of course we've got the sign up for the Workday. And I want to just, before we even get into that, I just want to take a moment to say thank you very much to all of you who showed up for the Workday yesterday. Yesterday was honestly an amazing day. It was awesome. We had three major goals that we needed to do. One was to clean that building, which saying clean the building doesn't sound like a lot until you actually start doing it. And you realize, I mean there's ten bathrooms, I'm not even sure how many rooms, there's more than ten rooms than just these huge areas, upstairs areas and stuff and I mean, I wasn't even sure, my wife and I weren't even sure that we were going to get the whole building cleaned in one day. But we had one goal of getting the building cleaned, another goal of getting all the trash dumped, and then a third goal of moving all the pews so that we can start work in the auditorium. And I thought like, well maybe we'll just get halfway through this and then maybe we can finish another week or something. But all three tasks got accomplished and it was pretty amazing and I just want to say thank you to all of you. I mean everybody was working, even the children were working, the teenagers were working, all the adults were working, and I like that we have a culture of work around here. I like people who work, I like being around men who work, and it was great. And I realize many of you, obviously you gave up your Saturdays, many of you came so early in the morning and gave up your Saturday in the afternoon and I just want to say thank you. I know the Lord will repay you for everything that you are doing and have done, so again thank you, thank you, thank you. Everything was perfect, everything was great, it all worked out. Obviously we're not done, that's just step one. We've got like seven steps to go, but it was, everything worked out great. We do have of course more workdays coming up in the month of October, and these are going to be more specific, more precise, but if you are a man who's not afraid to work, then we need you to sign up, please, in the clipboard. You have to say that nowadays because men act like they're allergic to work, but if you can work, we could use your help. So we've got a clipboard in the back and what we're doing is we're going to try to schedule the work times around the times when we have most availability, most men available, so if you can go to the clipboard and write your name down and then let us know when you are available, and again, it can be, you could say I'm available in the evenings, Monday through Friday or whatever, you can say I'm off on this certain day or I've got this day, that would be great. We would really appreciate the more information you can give us the better, and I know men are not the greatest at communication, but if you can give us the most information the better. Don't just go there and grunt, alright, just write something down and let us know when you are available so we can schedule some of these workdays, but it's exciting. I feel like the building already looks like a hundred times better, and I was thinking we should just have church there this morning, but we've got some things to do and we would appreciate your help. So men, if you would not mind going by there and signing up for the workdays, letting us know when you're available so we can start scheduling those workdays, that would be great. Homeschool group, we've got a field trip this Tuesday, October 3rd at 10 AM for the homeschool groups, don't forget about that. If you've not seen my wife yet to get the field trip flyer, make sure you do that. If you've not RSVP'd yet, make sure you do that. You need to RSVP, you can't just show up the day of, alright, so please make sure that you RSVP to my wife and the information is on the flyer, and that is of course the Oakland Zoo on Tuesday, so that will be exciting. I think it's a hundred acre zoo, so it's a big zoo and it's nice, so make sure that you are aware of that. PE class, Thursday October 19th at 10 AM, don't forget about that. There's other things there for you to look at please don't forget to turn your cell phones off or place them on silent during the service so that they're not a distraction to anybody. If you look at the back of the bulletin, birthdays and anniversaries for the month of October for this week, we have today is Miss Cricket Durand's birthday on October 1st. I actually have a very special birthday gift for Miss Cricket that I'll talk about later, but it's her birthday today, and then later this week we have Alexis Laquetta's birthday October 5th, Madison O2's birthday October 5th, Brother Darryl Venable's birthday October 5th, Miss Skylar Thompson's birthday October 7th, and Kyle Rubin's birthday October 7th. Praise Report, Money Matters, all those things are there for you to look at, and I think that's it for all of the announcements, so we're going to go ahead and sing the chorus of the week, which is the insert in your bulletin, and we're going to sing Be Thou My Vision. As we prepare to receive the offering this morning, sing it out on the first. Be Thou my vision Lord of my heart God be all else to me Save that Thou art Thou art my best My day or my night Waiting or sleeping Thy presence my night Be Thou my vision and Thou my work I ever with Thee and Thou with me more Thou my great Father and I Thy true Son Thou in me slowly and I will be one Rich as I hear Your tempting praise Thou mine inheritance Now and always Thou art the only first in my heart My King of Heaven My Treasure now art My King of Heaven My victory won May I reach Heaven's source, O bright half sun Lord of my own heart God ever be born Still be my vision the glory of all. Amen. Good singing. We'll have the guys come up and help us with the offering at this time and let's go ahead and bow our heads and have a word of prayer. Heavenly Father, Lord we do love you and we thank you for allowing us to gather together today. Lord I thank you for our church. I thank you for these men and women, these teens, these young people who are hard workers and Lord I pray that you'd bless them. Thank you for the great day we had yesterday and all the work that got done. I pray Lord that you'd bless the rest of this month in November as well in December as we get ready to move into that new building. Lord I pray that you would bless all the work that needs to be done and Lord of course we ask that you meet with us this morning. I pray that you would bless the offering that give them the giver. We ask that you would bless the preaching of your word in the matchless name of Christ we pray. Amen. ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
