Sunday evening again at five pm and Wednesday night seven is our Bible study we're going to be in Psalm fifty eight this week. We've got the soul winning opportunities listed there as well as our salvation and baptism for the month of May as well as for the year if you would like to get baptized today we got the baptismal tub set up it's being set up for the morning right after the morning service so we've got at least one baptism this morning if you've not been baptized and you're saved I'm not talking about being sprinkled as a baby or something that you may have done in another church before you really understood what it means to be saved before you understood that it's eternal before you understood you know what the gospel really means okay if you haven't been baptized after that point after you've called on the name of the Lord after you've gotten saved then I recommend highly that you get baptized today don't put it off just get baptized today we have everything set up for you we've got a garment that you can put on so you don't have to worry about your clothes getting wet we've got a tub set up it's a beautiful sunny day today we've got plenty of towels everything is perfect just get it settled today so if you would like to do that just speak with me right after the service and we will get you set up down at the bottom of the page we've got the offering totals they're received through the month of May prayer requests so I missed my bulletin from last week I don't have the additions on here first let's just cover who's on here right now is there any updates to anyone who is currently on the prayer list as it stands anyone have any updates yes sir yes I was with her yesterday and I didn't realize this but basically as she increases her medication one of the side effects is a pop of pins and a muscle and so she each time she increases doses it's like she's struggling she can't like muscle and they're just just praying for her so is it helping her breathe though so the side effect is a lot of discomfort physical discomfort for other now pains and things that she's experiencing are you sure this is helping you is it worth the pain and she's like yes it's helping I'm increasing my oxygen level and stuff but it's just like this is one of the side effects I didn't realize that as long as she was taking medication I haven't been there to see this until yesterday so yeah there's an update on Debbie Pulser you know where she's been trying to balance the medication she's brother DJ's grandmother she's had a lot of problems breathing and being able to breathe properly and getting enough oxygen when she breathes and she's been taking this medication which the medication apparently it's helping her to increase the oxygen level so she's getting enough oxygen to be able to to move and just do some kind of basic normal activities which was part of the problem is that you're not getting enough oxygen you're not breathing enough you become lethargic you're not able to do everything that you would want to do but one of the side effects brother DJ was just saying is that now it's causing her these other pains so as she's getting this medicine that is helping with the oxygen she's experiencing these other side effects that cause a lot of pain and discomfort not really able to sit still because of the side effects there so just pray that God will help comfort her help heal her help her to you know everything to kind of get dialed in I guess and that she wouldn't have so much pain and still be able to breathe normally so continue to pray for her as well as everyone else is your dad just in a waiting point right now for yeah I I didn't really he didn't really tell me anything about his follow up that they were going to see about this as as far as I know things are still moving forward so I'll get a final confirmation on that as far as what are they going to see okay any other updates to the prayer list alright and then there was Jimmy and if there's any other additions just let me know or fill out a card if I missed it because I lost my bulletin where I always write things down I like to write it down and have it here but I don't know what I did I misplaced my bulletin from last week so Jimmy had some break in problems with his vehicles and his home so but him and his family have been safe so that's good so it's just a matter of recovering property and stuff like that so any updates on that or no slow going okay and then down at the bottom of the page we've got there the churches and pastors are going to pray for whole fast Baptist church pastor Jared out in Fresno California pray for him and his family and their ministry with that church on the next page of course we've got our next big thing coming up is our five year anniversary big event at the end of June last weekend of June, June 24th that Saturday we'll be having a soul winning event that meets up right here from 930 to 1230 we'll have some lunch here afterwards and then I don't have everything still I don't have everything reserved yet I was looking up different options and figuring out you know all the little details of how I'm going to do everything but we may potentially have some activities on that Saturday afternoon so that's a possibility I won't know for sure until I do the reservation but definitely on Sunday we'll have a lot of fun things going on here we've got pastor Bruce Mejia from First Works Baptist church preaching for us in those services and we'll have a church wide lunch provided I plan on doing some barbecuing so I'm looking at procuring a big grill for the church just in general we could do like burgers and dogs and stuff like that so I'm figuring out how we can do that so we can keep things going regularly at least when we do some events when we have instead of catering and spending a ton of money on that we're going to try to bring some things in house a little bit invest in some things we've got the storage space now to be able to keep equipment like that on hand to be able to do this stuff and like with the rentals and stuff we like I'm looking at buying even an inflatable possibly like a bounce house because you know we rent that stuff out it's thousands of dollars but it's like if you just buy it and then have that all the time to be able to use it just makes sense so anyways that's what I have been doing work on this I've been trying to figure out exactly what we want to do and be able to celebrate have a good time so plan on being here you know we'll have food we'll have games we'll have snacks will be all kinds of fun stuff going on that whole day make a day out of it invite family invite friends I'm hoping to have a great attendance a lot of people here and just celebrate the five years been an awesome five years so far so I'm really excited to see what the future is going to hold as well but that's scheduled for June 24th and June 25th that weekend try to make it out for that if you can it's going to be a lot of fun we're finishing up the May challenge as we wrap up the month of May we got a few days left here and it is the baptism challenge so this is where I want it to be on the forefront of your mind to encourage people to get baptized during this month obviously let that continue forward into the rest of the months in the year you know like still be focused on encouraging people to get baptized but if you've let that slide if you kind of drop that off from being part of your gospel presentation you talk to people you lead them to Christ make sure that you're bringing that up that you're you're talking about baptism and encouraging them to get baptized and explaining why they should and why it's important to do that and to come to church and we could we could have them get baptized here so I want you focused on that and thinking about that and if you are involved in encouraging someone to get baptized and you'll also get a prize during this month for that as that's our focus and now coming up to the June challenge because that starts this week this is one of the bigger challenges I love this challenge this is how all this is actually this challenge is how all of the challenge started that I ever started doing as a challenge going all the way back to when I visited Steadfast Baptist Church I issued this challenge I issued this challenge at our church and to their church and and this is how all of our challenges that we do almost every single month of the year started was from this one and this in in June the challenge is to attempt to give the gospel to at least one person every single day of the month every day of the month now it's an attempt it doesn't mean you have to go through the whole plan of salvation with someone it doesn't mean that you have to go you know knocking on doors for an hour or whatever it's you see somebody wherever you are and you try to give them the gospel by approaching them and just asking them hey can I invite you to my church I want you know more importantly that whatever it is that you say however you break the ice and talk to people you know hey I just I've even done this because if you're wondering like man I know what to say at the door but I don't know what to say in other situations you could say this hey our church has this challenge going on this month where we're supposed to try to give someone the gospel are you interested in hearing about the gospel of Jesus Christ that's normal there's nothing wrong with that that's that should be easy enough to say to someone it shouldn't be uncomfortable to just say that right if you're looking for things to say if you have any more problems with that just talk to people hey what do you say how do you approach people but the whole point is to get over you know one any obstacles of you potentially not giving the gospel to people but two to be thinking about seizing the opportunity every opportunity that you have even in passing in your day to day life that's outside of our regularly scheduled soul winning times regularly scheduled soul winning time is extremely important I believe that obviously we have a bunch for our church but just your day to day life I want people thinking about giving the gospel to people and this forces you to think about that if you're trying to be like no I'm dead like this month I'm going to do this then hopefully after this month after June you'll be thinking about still in other situations giving people the gospel often times people let situations pass them because you're not thinking about the gospel at all and we want to try to avoid that so that it's on your mind it's something you're thinking about if it's something that you just never think about well you're never going to give the gospel to people right and this ties into praying and reading and everything else and having God at the forefront of your mind just in general will help with this but this challenge specifically you just need to attempt even if the person doesn't want to listen say nope not interested you have attempted to give the gospel to someone that satisfies the requirements of this challenge is that you are attempting to open up your mouth so obviously if you get people saved you want to do more great but you can't fail a day okay you've got to go every day to meet this challenge it's got to be every day of June and I pick June because June has the longest days of the year so it makes it a little bit easier for you because it stays light the latest so if you work and things like that and you're real busy during the week you know it still provides that opportunity to be able to give the gospel in the daytime people a lot more receptive if you approach them in the day than it is if it's like real dark it's late or whatever which is why we don't do this in winter because sometimes it gets dark really early and people you know get upset even if I don't think they should get upset they do right it just kind of happens so we do this in June it's the best time of year to do it it's plenty of people out and about you don't have to go knocking on doors you know if it's eight o'clock at night nine o'clock at night you're not going to go knocking on people's doors but you go to the gas station you go wherever you go out and about like anywhere and you'll still because the sun still up you'll be able to see people still hanging around just approach someone and stop and give them the gospel so that's the challenge for the month of June Bible memory passage Hebrew 7 verses 15 through 28 we got a deadline tonight so if you were working on this passage and you got this memorized you're close to getting it memorized just make sure you get this quoted to someone else you're quoting it out loud and that you have quoted it word perfect someone else has checked your work on that and you'll be able to earn a prize for that and then I'm going to give you another week you know of course we're going through the whole book of Hebrew so you know we're going to be starting Hebrews 8 next if you want to get a jump start on that feel free to but also if you do the entire chapter of Hebrew 7 I'll give you another week to be able to put that whole chapter together verses 1 through 28 and you can earn an X surprise for being able to quote the entire chapter so that will be next week the deadline for that Upcoming birthdays and anniversaries are listed there through the month of June down at the bottom of the page and then on the back we've got our events our next men's preaching class is going to be June 17th I had a lot of people show up yesterday we had a men's preaching class it was awesome if you missed that class but you want to come to the next one please come on out and join us if you're a man it's a good environment I think you'll learn a lot even if you don't want to preach we had multiple people come here that were not interested in preaching yesterday but they did come to listen and to learn so you're welcome to come for that as
