(Disclaimer: This transcript is auto-generated and may contain mistakes.) All right, happy Easter once again everybody. Thank you all for coming to the Easter service. We're going to go right into the title of this message. We've been going through our statement of faith for the last couple of weeks and we're going through the five points of salvation. The first point was the doctrine of sin. The second point was the real hell. The third point was the truth of the Trinity, but now we're getting into the pinnacle. What we are doing everything about. The title of this message simply is the gospel. What is the gospel? The word gospel just simply means good news. We go and evangelize, right? But when we evangelize to have good news, we have to know that there is bad news at the same time. Though we start off with telling people their sin, that they are sinners and they deserve to be punished for their sin, we don't want to leave them on that note. We are bringing good news to them. We're not just there to leave them on a cliffhanger like, okay, good luck with that. Rather we want them to know what God wants mankind to know. The Bible was written to mankind and it's for us to understand the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. So look down at your Bible at verse nine. It reads that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation for the scripture saith whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed for there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed and how shall they believe in him in whom they have not heard and how shall they hear without a preacher and now shall they preach except they be sent. This is the part I want you to see. Notice what it says as it is written. So this is not just the New Testament. This has always been God's plan for mankind as it is written. How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and what bring glad tidings of good things. The word gospel meaning good tidings or good message. Unfortunately people take the word gospel and they try to make it mean only one aspect of the good news which is the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ which it is true. That is the pinnacle of the gospel. That is the crux no pun intended but that's the crux of the message of Christianity. But here's the thing the gospel is more than just the death burial and resurrection. We don't de-emphasize any one aspect to the gospel. That's why the other day when we are talking about the truth of the Trinity we first have to establish what did God do for us so that we don't have to go to hell and then people understand the doctrine of the Trinity that Jesus Christ was God manifested in the flesh. But not only that that is what we explain to people that the good news this message of salvation is not just his death burial and resurrection but also his birth also his sinless perfection also his perfect life and also his continual you know intercessory work with us from the father. Look down at your Bible at Luke chapter 2 turn if you would to Luke chapter 2. This is known as the gospel according to Luke now notice it doesn't start off with you know then Jesus died on the cross and was buried and rose again. No it starts us off with his birth into the world. This is a famous chapter in reference to the Christmas story I'm sure some if not all of you have seen the Charlie Brown special of Charlie Brown or Linus or whoever was reading Luke chapter 2 and this passage this chapter of the Bible is just condensed with so much doctrine and teaching but look down if you would at verse 6 the Bible reads and so it was that while they were there the days were accomplished that she should be delivered who's the she that's Mary the mother of Jesus and she brought forth her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the end. I'm going to pause really quick this is another reason why we are King James only because notice it says right here and she brought forth her firstborn son. Other translations of the Bible don't say that the Catholics don't believe that Mary had any other children other than Jesus Christ they believe she remained a virgin throughout her whole life but that's not what the Bible says firstborn son implies there's another child that she ends up having and that's what the Bible clearly teaches but it goes on to read in verse 8 and there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field keeping watch over their flock by night and lo the angel of the Lord came upon them and the glory of the Lord shone round about them and they were sore afraid and the angel said unto them fear not for behold I bring you what glad tidings of great joy which shall be to all people for unto you is born this day in the city of David a savior which is Christ the Lord what a powerful passage what an amazing moment in time that you could imagine you're there an angel from heaven comes down and bestows upon the people at this time the good news the gospel Jesus Christ his coming into the world you know these two holidays right now we are celebrating Easter which is the resurrection of Christ but Christmas his Jesus Christ coming into the world why to be the savior of mankind this is the starting point of the gospel elsewhere in the Bible it says that Jesus Christ was the lamb slain from the foundation of the earth meaning I mean even if you look back at Genesis chapter three notice the prophecy of Jesus Christ the come it says the seed of the woman which right here is the story will bruise the serpent's head and he will bruise his heel this has been the plan from the beginning before he made the heaven and the earth this is what was going to happen and with that being said Mark chapter one you don't need to turn there Mark chapter one verse one says the exact same thing the beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ and then it goes into his death barrel and resurrection right no this is chapter one verse one the beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ the son of God as it was written in the prophets behold I send my messenger before thy face which shall prepare thy way before thee the voice of one crying in the wilderness prepare you the way of the Lord make his paths straight so we saw it according to the gospel of Luke we saw it according to the gospel of Mark let's look at the gospel according to Matthew turn if you would to Matthew chapter one why are these four books known as the gospels because they go through the life the birth the death the burial the resurrection the whole spectrum is the gospel there are some people who try to de-emphasize one aspect and overemphasize one but you need to have the complete package without him coming into the world how would he have lived this sinless life without living this perfect sinless life how would he be the perpetuation for our sins or the substitutionary atonement it's because he came into the world that it starts us off on the good news that we can know for a fact that Jesus Christ truly is the savior of man look down at your Bibles at verse 1 the book of the generation of Jesus Christ the son of David the son of Abraham and skip this genealogy for sake of time but it goes in through a long genealogy skip down if you would to verse 18 it reads now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise when as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph before they came together she was found with child of the Holy Ghost then Joseph her husband being a just man not willing to make her a public example is minded to put her away privately now let me pause here really quickly notice the story Joseph marries Mary and when they get married he notices she is with a child in the Old Testament law there's only one example that God bestows upon man to legitimately divorce someone and that is when a woman or a man is known to be unclean or with a child or they are not a virgin because when the union of marriage comes together you are signing up to be with that person only and if that person lied to you and said oh I'm a virgin and then really wasn't this is the only reason God gave an allowance for divorce elsewhere in the gospel it says saving for the cause of fornication is this all right did God allow this anything outside of that is illegitimate the Pharisees come to Jesus and try to challenge him and question him about this subject and he says can a man put away his wife for any cause and Jesus is like no you don't understand have you not read what it says in the law and notice what it calls Joseph it says being a just man was not willing to make her a public example and was minded to put her away privately so this is the narrator the Holy Ghost speaking to us telling us that what Joseph was doing was right it was just it was justified it was legitimate but notice what goes on to say verse 20 but while he taught on these thought on these things behold the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream saying Joseph thou son of David fear not to take unto thee marry thy wife for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost and she shall bring forth a son and thou shalt call his name Jesus for he shall save his people from their sins now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the Prophet saying behold a virgin shall be with child and shall bring forth a son and they shall call his name and manual which being interpreted is God with us remember back to the doctrine of the Trinity this is God manifested in the flesh verse 24 then Jesus Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him and took unto him his wife and knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son and he called his name Jesus once again the doctrine of Mary not having any other kids is ridiculous we have two examples in two different Gospels let alone when the brothers and sisters of Jesus come to him desiring to seek him he says who are my mother and who are my brethren but he that but these that do the will of my father which is in heaven this is what the Bible is clearly teaching that basically the gospel starts with the whole entire message notice what it says in John chapter 1 verse 1 it says in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God and the word became flesh and dwelled among us and we beheld his glory glories of the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth like I said the whole entire message is the gospel Jesus Christ being God coming in the world to be the Savior of man okay David we get it his birth is in reference to his true message of salvation what else what about his sinless perfected life turn to your Bibles if you would to Romans chapter 5 you have the the books of the Gospels Matthew Mark Luke John Acts and then right after that is the epistle of Paul to the Romans not only did he come into the world to be the Savior of man because this is preordained of him but he had to do the work he had to live the perfect sinless life that we could never live because us as sinners we cannot always do the right thing it is possible for us to do the wrong thing and with that being said look down at your Bible at Romans chapter 5 verse 8 this is a famous passage that we use when giving the gospel it simply says but God commended his love toward us and that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us notice what it says in verse 9 much more than being now justified by his blood we shall be saved from wrath through him for if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his son much more being reconciled we shall be saved what by his life it's not just his death it's his life that saves us do you not understand that when we put our faith in Christ his righteousness his perfect sinless perfection comes in unto us this is what's known as the imputation doctrine his righteousness is put on my account on your account and anyone's account who puts their faith alone in him when that happens all our sins are as far as the east is from the west and he says I will remember your sins no more but he can still choose to walk in the flesh and do the things that are fulfilling to the flesh but if we do all our sins are forgiving Christ's righteousness is imputed unto us because he lived a perfect sinless life if salvation was come by adhering to the law then Christ is dead in vain why do we have to put our faith in Jesus if we could establish our own righteousness through keeping the law we can never keep the law perfect that's why we needed a Savior it goes on to read in verse 11 look down it says and not only so but we ourselves joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ by whom we have now received the atonement wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin and so death passed upon all men for that all have sinned for unto the law sin was in the world but sin is not imputed when there is no law nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression who is the figure of him that was to come I'm gonna pause there really quickly this is a doctrine that the Catholics believe in it's what's known as the original sin they think that people need to have their children baptized because the sin of Adam is inputted onto all mankind that's not what the Bible is teaching notice what it says in verse 13 nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression similitude think about like to simulate something it appears so sin came into the world through Adam but we don't have Adam sin on us we all have our own sins that we all have committed and I didn't commit Adam sin of heating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil I've done other worse things you've done other worse things but Catholics think for some reason that when babies are born if God forbid they died at a young age we better baptize them just in case because Adam's sin will be put on them the Bible doesn't talk anything about that we went elsewhere in another sermon at another time but the Bible clearly teaches about the age of accountability if there's a child or someone who is mentally uncapable of understanding the message of salvation they're considered safe they can't be saved because they cannot recollect their wrongdoings so babies you know mentally handicapped people they are safe in the sight of God because their sin is not going to be imputed unto them let's go on and keep reading notice what it says in verse 15 but not as the offense so also is the free gift for if through the offense of one many be dead much more the grace of God and the gift by grace which is by one man Jesus Christ has abounded unto many and not as it was by one that sinned so as the gift for the judgment was by one to condemnation but the free gift is of many offenses under justification for if by one man's offense death reigned by one much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one Jesus Christ therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life now go if you would to verse 21 that as sin hath rained unto death even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord so we got to understand when you're giving someone the gospel right you I always say these doctrines which are important you know his sinless perfection his virgin birth we have to mention you can't be a Christian and not believe in some doctrines of the Bible when I give the the message of salvation to someone right think of it like this imagine I explained to someone the virgin birth and then I explained to them his sinless perfection and then I explained to them his death burial and resurrection they're like okay I believe that a week later I come back and I say hey you know Christmas is right around the corner what a what a great thing that you know you know Mary the Virgin was able to have Jesus Christ to be the Savior of man well they're like well I don't believe that I don't think she was really a virgin I think she was just a young maid I think it's really not translated correctly from Hebrew which modern translations do well it's like wait a second you can't accept one aspect but not the whole entire aspect of the gospel you need to believe as it said earlier a virgin shall conceive and be with child so you can't take what you want and cherry pick parts of the gospel and be like oh yeah I'm fine I'm safe no or I've heard people say that Jesus Christ wasn't sinless we went soul winning the other day and this guy you know it blows my mind out people who've never read the Bible have so much to say about Jesus Christ and his characters and what he's done and I explained to them you know the Bible elsewhere talks about he who knew no sin he became sin for us that we may be known as the righteousness of God in him and they're like well I know he did wrong things what do you mean you know he did wrong things well other writings and the other tablets of other ancient history talks about him no doing bad stuff as a kid is that in the Bible no they're not well then what are you worried about what other books are saying about him and not what the Bible says about him that's like coming up to someone who has an autobiography about a famous person let's say I don't know Muhammad Ali you want to know about Muhammad Ali and you read an autobiography and then someone's like I have this other book that said that any everything that that book says is not right and not real it's like how about let's go to the source first to figure out what the truth is about this person and the Bible is clearly laying out a foundation God came into this world and lived a perfect sinless life you don't believe me you don't need to turn there but notice what it says in Hebrews chapter 4 verse verse 14 seeing then that we have a great high priest that is passed into the heavens Jesus the Son of God let us hold fast our profession for we have not in high priests which cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities but was in all points tempted like as we are yet without sin let us therefore come boldly under the throne of grace how we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need you got to understand that every every temptation you've endeavored every single time you are wanting to do the wrong thing Jesus Christ has taken on he was fully God and he was fully man he was tempted in all points like as we are yet without sin that means when I am tempted to eat cake for a breakfast because that is wrong you don't want to eat bad junk food for breakfast it's a sin you need to eat healthy food you need to make sure you take care of the tabernacle if I want to do drugs if I want it whatever the sin is that I am tempted with Christ was tempted in it but he never did the wrong thing he always did that which is right and it's funny because some people picture Jesus Christ as this soft-spoken easygoing just kind of person who never got angry the Bible says be angry and sin not not letting up the rat or let not hear a wrath go upon you at the end of the day so basically Jesus Christ got angry but he wasn't angry at something that was not angry to be at when there is someone who is caught as a pedophile you know hurting and defiling children it is right for you to be angry at that don't let the world tell you like oh no you don't get it his environment and the situation and hope pity the guy no if I love flowers I will hate weeds if I love children I'm going to hate pedophiles Jesus Christ is the same thing there is such thing as a righteous indignation or anger God Jesus Christ came into the temple and saw people selling things in the temple and he grabbed the table could you imagine I just flipped this over and started making a huge ruckus that's what Jesus Christ did twice in his ministry he came in and says you've made my father's house a den of iniquity which is a place of like horrible gambling and bad like could you imagine they turn church into a casino basically is what he's saying happened but we're here to hear the good news it is Easter we are talking about the resurrection of Christ but we got to understand all these things that come into place with it God was born of the Virgin Jesus lived a perfect sinless life and in living this perfect sinless life he took the sins of mankind upon himself remember when he was on the cross what were his words it is finished what was finished the perfect sinless life because the gospel is not over yet at that point but what was required of him on this earth was done he still had more work to do that's gonna go lead me into my next point the doctrine of Jesus Christ's blood there is an attack on the blood of Jesus Christ some say that the blood of Jesus doesn't really save you it's not his blood that saves you it's his death that saves you like I was saying earlier there are people who try to compartmentalize the gospel what's more important is death is blood is resurrection is burial his eternal life or his perfect life his birth what's well this is more important that no that's all it comes as a package deal and his blood is a part of this there's a false prophet out there going around telling people that the blood of Christ doesn't save them famous John MacArthur so many people love this guy so many people have so much revered towards him in the midst of this pandemic right a lot of churches have been shutting down they've been closing their doors they're adhering to what the world wants them to do rather than what the Bible taught us and it says forsake not the assembling of yourselves together as the manner of some is but so much the more as we see the day of Christ approaching we don't forsake we don't stop fellowshipping and getting together as believers because the world said stop doing it if the world said worship the Antichrist what do you think they're going to do this is in reference to the end times the Antichrist will come and the world will worship him but us who are saved if it were possible he would deceive the even very elects sake but it's not possible why because we believe the truth we understand that the Antichrist is coming next anti is just a prefix did not mean like against but in place of it's not like I'm anti abortion like I'm against abortion in Greek it's a referencing term to mean like in place of so this man will come and say I'm Jesus and the world's gonna be like let's worship him but us Christians are gonna be like whoa wait a second there's prophecies that are coming of a man to say these things another message for another time but John MacArthur let me give you some quotes of his so just so you don't take my word for it fact check me go ahead take it upon yourselves look up what he said about this doctrine the blood modern translations attack this doctrine ESV NIV New World's all these other modern translations they take this doctrine and they'll replace it instead of saying blood he'll say his death it's a euphemism for his death let's see what the Bible says but before I read what the Bible says let me read from you from John MacArthur's quotes it was his death that was ethicus ethicus this ethic ish I can't even read that word not his blood Christ did not bleed to death the shedding of blood had nothing to do with bleeding it simply means death nothing in his human blood saves it is not his blood that I love it's him it's not his bleeding that saves me but his dying so let me pause one one point he says nothing in his human blood saves did you know that the blood that was shed on Calvary was not just human blood that was the blood of God Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man yes he was a man but he was divine the blood the most precious commodity on this earth you can grab every single pit bit of gold on this universe and get handed over to me or one drip of Jesus's blood and I'm gonna reach for that blood all day long because it's that that was shed for me for you and for the world no gold is gonna help you out to get to heaven it's only his blood is precious perfect blood that saves us from arson the most precious thing we could ever desire but it goes on let's see what else he says nothing in his human blood saves it is not his blood that I love it's him there is no sense in getting all teary-eyed and mystical about the blood we sing hymns about the power in the blood and so forth but we don't want to get preoccupied with that the only importance about the blood is to show he died that's it there is no saving in the blood itself this is the words of a straight-up false prophet there's nothing in his blood that saves let's see what the Bible says you you you turn if you were to John 3 we'll end you there but let me read from you actually turn to Hebrews 9 while you turn to Hebrews 9 I'm gonna read Revelation 1 5 it reads and from Jesus Christ who is the faithful witness and the first begotten of the dead and the prince of the kings of the earth unto him that loved us and what washed us from our sins in his own blood how can you be washed in death obviously you're washed in his blood notice what it says in Revelation 7 verse 14 and I said unto him sir thou knowest and this is in reference to John speaking with the angel that he's talking to and I said unto him sir thou knowest and he said to me these are they which came out of great tribulation and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb like a contradiction of terms are you gonna dip your clothes in blood and it's gonna come out white and clean that's what the Bible teaches is that the blood of Christ is going to put perfection on us everything you know it's just for people to attack the structure and to me is unique because so much it talks about elsewhere in the Old Testament the life thereof thereof is in the blood thereof who you weren't supposed to and to this day it is a sin to eat blood of animals because it's donate the blood why because the life of the animal is in that blood all the Old Testament sacrifices were to be the spilling of blood of an animal because that symbolized Jesus's blood to be spilt for us so for someone to be like well it's not his blood that saves us it's his death then why did all the Old Testament sacrifices talk about the blood of the animal the blood of goats and a bulls can never take away the sins of man but it's the perfect blood of Christ they all symbolize that to come I'll go on to read in Hebrews 12 verse 22 the year come unto Mount Zion and unto the city of the living God the heavenly Jerusalem and to an innumerable company of angels to the General Assembly of the Church of the firstborn which are written in heaven and to God the judge of all and to the spirits of just men made perfect and to Jesus the mediator of the New Covenant and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better things than that of Abel remember the story of Cain and Abel Cain kills his brother Abel his blood cried from the earth I had heard his blood from the earth how much better is Jesus's blood than Abel's blood is what it's saying but where you are in Hebrews chapter 9 let me get there myself this is a chapter that really hammers in the point of the blood of Jesus Christ Hebrews chapter 9 verse 16 let's read for where a testament is there must also of necessity be the death of the testator for a testament is a force after men are dead otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood for when Moses had spoken even every precept to all the people according to the law he took the blood of calves and of goats with water and scarlet wool and hyssop and sprinkled both the book and all the people saying this is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoyed unto you let me pause really quickly why do we call it the Old Testament because when Moses went up to Mount Sinai and got the commandments of God written with the finger of God and the tablets of stone he came down and after he sprinkled them with the blood of goats and hyssop and water to put into mankind the Old Testament the law statutes of God you want to know why you need to honor your father and mother in the Lord because God said you know you want to know why we shouldn't steal because God said why don't we lie why don't we do these things because God said if you do these things you will die and if you die in your sin you will end up in hell but you don't need to stay you don't need to go there if you trust in the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ so it goes on to read in verse 19 actually verse 20 saying this is the blood of the New Testament which God hath enjoyed unto you moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry and almost all things are by the law purged with blood and without shedding of blood is no remission if blood's not shed there's no remission it was therefore what necessary that the pattern of things in heaven should be purified with these but the heavenly things themselves which better sacrifices than these for Christ is not the entering in for Christ is not entered into the holy place made without with hands which are the figure of the true but into heaven itself now to appear in the presence of God for us so get the picture really quickly notice God told the people of Israel to build a tabernacle to build you know a a sacrificial system why where did they get this idea from it says it's a pattern of the one that's in heaven currently sitting there right now and did you know that when Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead which we're celebrating today the resurrection of Christ we celebrate his birth at Christmas but we're also celebrating his second birth the word to resurrect means to be brought back to life to be brought again he was dead in every sense of the word but being that he was brought back to life he ascended up unto into heaven to the mercy seat in heaven and has his blood there to atone and be the intercessory work for us every day daily he's pleading for me meaning every time I sin he doesn't need to keep sacrificing himself like they did in the Old Testament he sacrificed himself once for all for all sin and his blood on that altar is put on my account on your account on any one account who puts their faith in him call it for Colossians 1 14 you don't need to turn there says and whom we have redemption through his blood he even the forgiveness of sins I didn't have this in my nose but turn if you would to Acts chapter 20 this is another point of what I was trying to get at that Jesus Christ blood is God's blood it's not just man it's not like only his humanity died for us that's irrelevant that it would be his humanity it's his divinity that was there for us he's fully God and fully man the notice in Acts chapter 20 verse 27 it reads for I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God take heed therefore unto yourselves and to all the flock over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers to feed the what the church of who God who hath purchased with his own blood whose blood God's blood what's the antecedent in the in the sentence God is the antecedent which means it comes before so we get it David he was born is it Mary's you know birth the virgin birth is part of the gospel we get it David his sinless perfection meaning him living this perfect sinless life all his righteousness is imputed unto us he went around doing good he healed people he preached the Word of God he went around doing miracles I mean are you doing miracles I'm not doing miracles and here's the thing the Bible says even if we kept the law perfect which is not possible it's still not enough our righteousness is ours filthy rags in the sight of the Lord I do good and I presented to God he looks down and sees a dirty rag unless the blood of Christ has put on that he did die physically his spirit his soul went to the place of the dead hell he ascended up back into his body he was buried for three days and three nights and then the third day praise the Lord he rose from the dead proving to us that he is truly God so much throughout history having people said they were God haven't this person said he's God haven't holy people throughout the past mentioned that they were divine well none of them raised themselves from the dead so that gives him credibility Jesus Christ said I will prove to you that I'm God I will raise this body in three days now though people attack these individual doctrines or try to make one more important than the other I will mention this one thing that in the celebration of this holiday right it's funny that people call Friday Good Friday why do they call it Good Friday they call that simply because they say that that's the day that he died now remember what the Bible says as Jonas or Jonah the Prophet Jonah has Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly so shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth so let's do some math I know this isn't really hard but we got Friday right he dies we got Saturday oh and then today Sunday so he was only in the tomb for two days a day and a half no it couldn't be that he died on Friday that makes no logical mathematical sense it's more likely and we can't pinpoint an exact time or day there's lots of people who have been trying to pinpoint the exact moments of Christ you know ministry and things like that but it's very arguably proven that he either died Wednesday night or Thursday afternoon I adhere to him dying or being you know put to the cross on Wednesday afternoon because it talks about that it was dark the land was dark it was about the sixth hour meaning it's like nine o'clock our time it's starting to get dark right but you got to think about it if he was dead Wednesday night right you have Thursday right first day Thursday night you have Friday Friday night you have Saturday and then Saturday night and then what are we celebrating today the resurrection of Christ they all try to come to Jesus at the first day of the week Sunday is known as the first day of the week the Bible and if you look at all the Gospels at the ending of the Gospels they all say that the women came to the sepulcher to bring spices on the first day of the week now this is something that a lot of people don't understand that each one of those days was a Sabbath day Wednesday or I'm sorry Thursday was the Passover which is a Jewish holiday which represents the angel coming over the nation of Egypt and killing all the firstborn children unless they had the blood of the lamb on their doorposts which symbolizes the blood of Christ on the doorposts of our hearts once again it's the blood that washes us and you have the next day right so you have the Passover then you have the day of unleavened bread because remember when Jesus Christ in the Last Supper right what did he bestow upon them he brings up bread that's unleavened leaven is something it's like yeast and it puffs up the bread right but if you have unleavened bread leaven represents sin in the Bible elsewhere Jesus says beware ye the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees meaning their false doctrine their false teaching but he goes on to say this is the bread of the New Testament which this is represents my body which was broken for you and here's the cup of the blood of the New Testament which was shed for you so once again the blood is emphasized time and time again but until Jesus died the testament wasn't put in effect as it said in Hebrews so we have the Passover we have the you know unleavened bread and then we have Saturday which Saturday is just the Sabbath no work was to be done on the Sabbath if you were out working you'd be put to death in the Old Testament law now get this picture this a lot of people don't understand this Jesus Christ was dead for three days and three nights three holidays were put on the exact same three days that he was dead which symbolizes that we as it says in the book of Hebrews enter into his rest we do not work our way to heaven Jesus Christ did all the work he died he bled he lived the perfect sinless life he took the punishment of sin upon himself he was the Passover he was the unleavened bread he did all the work on the Sabbath so anyone who tries to tell you you need to believe and fill in the blank they don't understand the gospel the message of the good news what's the title of this message the gospel the good news faith alone trust alone and what Jesus Christ has already done for us if you think you need to stop sinning and believe you have something to do with your salvation because you are good enough to stop your sin right wrong if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and have to continue in righteousness you're still earning your spot in heaven because I'm living this good life what does it say in Ephesians chapter 2 verse 8 verse 8 it simply says for by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God not of works lest any man should boast Romans chapter 4 says but to him that worketh not but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly his faith is counted for righteousness I don't care if there's a guy standing here let me give you an analogy of a guy here and the other guy here this guy is a good go lucky not horrible dude goes to church good member of society contributes to the poor all-around decent dude right but he's sinned and he's as the Bible says we've all sinned and this guy puts his faith in Christ and it's gonna keep the law just in case you have to be good to go to heaven right then you have this guy over here who is a crackhead derelict dumb degenerate horrible person but this guy knows nothing I can ever do will be sufficient to keep me or help me maintain salvation this guy only believes only trusts in Jesus Christ of these two people who's going to heaven this guy he that worketh not but believeth on the un that justifieth the ungodly his faith is counted for righteousness should he do drugs should he robbed the poor should he do these bad things no he shouldn't but even if he did remember Christ's righteousness was put onto him why do you think throughout the whole entire gospel Jesus Christ is coming to the publicans and harlots and degenerates of this world why do you think that because they knew that they could never earn their spot into heaven they had to trust alone in Christ this is the last point I want to leave you on the gospel is full full full circle you need to believe in his virgin birth you need to believe in his sinless perfection you need to believe that he died you need to believe that he bled you need to believe that he resurrected but who does this apply to turn to your Bibles if you went to John chapter 3 that's where I had you turn earlier go back to John chapter 3 and this is another doctrine that will get a full-length message on its own but this is important because there is a group of people out there who are trying to teach that not everyone will be safe or not everyone has this ability to be saved that is not what the Bible says the Bible says whosoever will let him come and take the water of life freely we believe as the Bible clearly teaches that whosoever anyone can put their faith in Christ it's not that God chose from the foundation of the world who he wants to be saved for no will of ours God gave us free will to choose him so it's possible for anyone as long as they put their faith in Christ they will be saved Calvinists don't believe this they think God chooses you to be saved he he for some reason in his foreknowledge says I'm gonna pick here's a group of ten guys that guy to be saved and that's it everyone has no chance they're out of luck they have nothing they can do let's see if that's what the Bible says John chapter 3 let's just read the whole chapter notice what it says in verse 1 there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus a ruler of the Jews the same came to Jesus by night and said unto him rabbi we know that thou art a teacher come from God for no man can do these miracles that thou doest except God be with him Jesus answered and said unto him verily verily I say unto thee except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God Nicodemus saith unto him how can a man be born when he is old can he enter the second time into the mother's womb and be born Jesus answered verily verily I say unto thee except a man be born of water and of the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit I'm gonna pause really quickly notice in verse 5 it says except a man be born of water and of the Spirit right some people have misinterpreted this to say that you need to believe and be baptized because it says water but it defines what it is in the next verse notice what it says in verse 6 that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit the water is in reference to the water breaking in the womb that which is born of the flesh is flesh because what did he just talk about well can I go back into my mother's womb it's like what are you what are you stupid that's what's born of the water is flesh that which is born of the Spirit is spirit you need to believe and understand that God is a spirit we don't see by sight we see by faith but it goes on to read marvel not that I said said unto thee he must be born again the wind bloweth where it listeth and thou hearest the sound thereof but canst not tell where it cometh and whither it goeth so as everyone that is born of the Spirit Nicodemus answered and said unto him how can these things be Jesus answered and said unto him art thou a master of Israel and no it's not these things verily verily I say unto thee we speak that we do know and testify that we have seen and he receive not our witness for if or if I have told you earthly things and you believe not how shall you believe if I tell you of heavenly things and no man hath ascended up to heaven but he that came down from heaven even the Son of Man which is in heaven and Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness even so must the Son of Man be lifted up now watch this notice who this applies to how does one get one get born again because that's the question okay the gospel applies to who notice verse 15 that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life verse 16 is one of the most popular passages in the whole Bible for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life for God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved he that believeth on him is not condemned but he that believeth not is condemned already why because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God and this is the condemnation that light is coming to the world and men love darkness rather than light lest their deeds were because their deeds were evil for everyone that doeth evil hateth the light neither cometh to the light lest his deeds should be reproved and he that doeth truth cometh to the light that his deeds may be made manifest and that they are wrought in God look down at verse 36 it reads he that believeth on the Sun hath everlasting life and he that believeth not the Sun shall not see life but the wrath of God abideth on him this passage this chapter in the Bible is making very clear there are two camps in this world those who believe those who don't believe well I knew a guy who believed one time and then stopped believing believe doesn't believe well I knew a guy who said he believed but I saw him do bad things he believes or he doesn't believe that's it he that believes hath everlasting life he that does not believe shall not see life but the wrath of God abideth on him and this is very important because we go out and evangelize this the second of our pillar to our three core pillars of our faith his soul-winning we go out and tell people the good news of Jesus Christ we adhere to the preserved Word of God the King James Version of the Bible we go out and preach the truth to people in love but here is where you're gonna hear the hard truths that you don't want to hear because the Word of God is a big book there's a lot to be learned and seen but nevertheless if you want to know what's pleasing to God you'll read his word or you'll hear men of God preaching and expounding on these things but we need to go out preach to the lost about salvation because Calvinists like I said earlier they don't think man has a choice to believe in God they think God just makes them believe so why go out and preach the gospel if God's gonna do it without us Jesus says my yoke is easy and my burden is light go ye therefore into all the world and preach the gospel he's committed unto us the ministry of reconciliation Jesus left us with a job just go and preach this good news show them their sin explain to them what will happen if they die put their faith in Jesus put their faith in the death burial and resurrection and when they do so they will receive everlasting life and their sins are as far as the East is from the West that's the next message we're gonna go into is the doctrine of the eternal security of the believer once you are saved you are always saved you can never lose your salvation but I'm not gonna get ahead of myself we're gonna preach that message at another time but we're known by some a lot of people somewhere at one time deemed us as Bible believing Christians as a derogatory term to be easy believers you guys are just easy believe ism yeah Jesus did all the work he did everything I don't have to do the only thing I have to do is believe in him trust in him oh that's cheap grace really his blood is the most precious commodity on this earth and it's so easy it's so funny how you think that I'm saying you're saying it's cheap yet you don't put your trust only in him everyone who says I like Oh faith is not enough you need to also do X Y & Z keep the commandments get baptized whatever it is fill in the blank heads like oh so you have to do something for salvation right well yeah we can't just believe but he that worketh not but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly his faith is counted for righteousness for by grace are you saved through faith not of yourselves it's the gift of God not of works with any man should boast Oh Easter is a day that we celebrate every year of the resurrection of Christ do we do you people don't realize what year are we in right now 2021 why why are we in the year 18 billion according to some secularists you know evolution or evolutionist because 2021 years ago Jesus Christ is born that's why we even are on this date on this calendar the Sun rising every morning is a picture of Jesus Christ's ascension every single day every Sunday we celebrate Easter every single Sunday because we get together on the first day of the week like Jesus Christ ascended from the tomb so when we see the Sun rise every morning that's a symbolism that's a picture of Jesus Christ's mercy to mankind and for any one person to look at the Sun to look at the observable universe of the flowers the birds the trees loving relations and things like that and then to think that there's no God you're a fool the Bible says you know for someone who thinks there's no God is a fool you're an idiot is what it's saying because the Bible wants mankind to know his truths you can look at the observable universe but you can look at his word and realize that God loves you as it said in John 3 16 for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life and I want to leave you on this last thought just because we go out and preach the gospel and we share the message of the good news to everyone does not mean everyone will get saved as a matter of fact most people won't be saved why because they think it's too easy well that's too easy there's a famous saying in the world today that nothing's free there's one thing that's free and it's salvation so because the world wants you to think you need to earn everything yourself that is why they're suppressing the truth of truly just simply believing and in doing this when we go out I don't want you to get discouraged if you ever preach the gospel to your friend your family member a loved one and they're just like ah you believe in a book that's two hundred two thousand years old and you're just following some goat herder and so on and so forth it's like look what are you doing you know I mean look and I don't believe this but let's say we're wrong as Christians let's just make the argument we're believing in something that's not legitimate right what are how are we hurting mankind to go around preaching this message that if they put their faith in Christ they'll be saved from their sins because I'll tell you this other religions what they ask their members to do it's detrimental to mankind go to a Muslim and tell them what you should do according to Muhammad they say kill unbelievers Jesus Christ says if you live by the sword you'll die by the sword and it says it's you should lay down your life for the for the lost so what what horrors are we doing by going out and preaching the message of salvation nothing but know this all that live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution if you're willing to deny yourself look I could be doing a million things right now I could be surfing skating hanging out with friends there's so many things I could be doing with my time you think this property was cheap you're not realize that I'm painting this out of my own pocket now I understand that every good gift comes from above from the father of whom there is no variableness of wanton meaning that every good gifts like money like knowledge comes from God God bestowed on me finances to be able to do this why because I want everyone to know the truth who Jesus is but I could do whatever I wanted with this but I realize and I need you guys to realize what is given unto you you are given salvation you are given the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven and it is our responsibility to share that with someone if you could imagine your boss your loved one left you with something and you just spat in their face you know it's just it's a shame for the cause of Christ let's throughout our day throughout our week today remember that Jesus Christ loves us and that he died for us and not only did he die not only did he live a perfect sin this life not only did he come in the world not only did he bleed but he rose again that's the gospel the good news of Jesus Christ let's go ahead and bow our heads and have a word of prayer dear heavenly father thank you so much for everything you've done for us thank you so much for your word thank you so much for salvation thank you so much for brothers and sisters in Christ to gather together to fellowship and to have true unity and the things of you help us throughout our day throughout our week to just remember that we don't just celebrate this day every Easter but we celebrate this day every time we come together because you know you left us with the task and we want to be good stewards of our time please help us to draw closer near to you to be pleasing in your sight and in Jesus Christ name we pray amen you
