(Disclaimer: This transcript is auto-generated and may contain mistakes.) Alright, hello everybody, good morning, thank you all for joining us, thank you so much for coming. We're going to go ahead and start with a word of prayer just to get this thing going, so let's go ahead and bow our heads. Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much for allowing us all to gather together to hear your word and to be fellowshipping one with another. Please be with us and to fill us with the Holy Spirit and to fill us with joy, In Jesus' name we pray, amen. Alright, let's go ahead and get a song going. Alright, thank you all for coming this morning and thank you for having us back here. I just wanted to go ahead, actually Jake could you grab me my notes? I need those don't I? There we go. I wanted to go ahead and say thank you all for joining us and thank you for allowing us to be here and to preach for you guys. Because I will say this, Brother Corbin Brock, Brother Jake Thornton and I, this is something serious that we want you guys to know that we are here for you. Don't think for one second that this is just some form of way that we could just be pleasing only unto God. Jesus Christ says that the greatest law in the commandment is that you love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind and that you love your neighbor as yourself. We want you guys to know that we are here for you. The title of this message this morning is, It's Never Too Late. Some people think that in their life whether they are older or something has happened to them that it's too late for them to serve God. But you know what? It's never too late. As long as you have breath in your chest, God can use you for some of the greatest things moving forward in your life. See some people think your youth is where you get all the mustard courage to serve God and do great things. But did you know there are characters in the Bible that in their latter years did the greatest things in their life later on? So if you would, look into your Bible at section 25. This is an example of what I'm trying to share with you. Notice what it says. It says in verse 25, And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. So I'm going to pause there really quickly. This was an older guy and he was told by the Holy Ghost that you will not depart or you will not die until you see the Lord's anointed. And it goes on to read, And he came by the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him after the custom of the law, then took him up in his arms and blessed God, and said, Lord, now let us thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word. For mine eyes have seen thy salvation. So notice it says, now I am acceptable to die or to depart. Why? Because I have seen the Lord's salvation. The primary reason why we are here for you guys is to show you the way of salvation. That is most important in our physical lives. Why? Because like Brother Jake preached last week, you get given and granted eternal life once you put your faith in Christ. If I never see you guys ever again for whatever reason, I want to know that you're on your way to heaven. Not because what I say, not because what a pastor or a church says, but because the Word of God promises those who put their faith in Jesus that they are on their way to heaven. So that is what we're here to do primarily. But let me ask you this, is that the end of our Christian life? Do we believe on Christ and that's it? Simeon understood that that was what was most important is to see the Lord's salvation. Now some people may think to themselves, it says in Romans chapter one, for instance, right? We live from faith to faith, and as it is written, the just shall live by faith. So it took our faith to get saved, to put our faith in Jesus, to believe and go to heaven. But after that, we need to trust in God with the rest of our life. How we are to serve him, what we are to do, how do we conduct ourselves, what do we say, how do we sing, what do we do in our lives? We live through our faith, we trust in the promises of God. Now some people in here may think to themselves, well, I'm not a man, I'm not like a prophet, I'm not somebody who this is appointed to. And I will mention to say this, to preach from a pulpit or to a congregation of people, it is appropriate that the man of God preaches the message of whatever the Bible teaches. But even ladies can preach the message of salvation to others. And we see an example of that right here. So I don't want you ladies to think for any one second that, well, maybe it's for them, it's too late for me, there's nothing I can do. As a matter of fact, there is something that all of us can do. Man, woman, boy, girl, everyone can serve God to some degree. And preaching the gospel to our loved ones, neighbors, relatives, is always appointed unto us to do. Take a look down at your Bible, if you would, at verse 36. This is what I'm saying. It says, And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phinuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was of great age and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity. And she was a widow about four score and four years. Everyone knows that statement from Abraham Lincoln, right? Four score and seven years ago, a score in the Bible is 20. So this lady is in her later years, right? It says, And about four score and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fasting and prayers night and day. Now what did she do? She served God with fasting and prayers, right? And it goes on to read, And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake to him or to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem. Wherever you are, you can speak to people about the message of salvation. If you have that ability, if you can share your faith, what it took you to get saved with anyone in your proximity, that is how you can serve God, man, woman, boy or girl. Now we are here to help you number one understand salvation. But number two is how to serve God. I don't have, I'm not eloquent, I'm not very strong, I physically have abilities. And trust me, we all have handicaps in our lives, even me and myself included. You know, I understand that there are different functions with different people that are better than others. But the Bible says that God has chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. He has chosen the weak things of this world to confound the mighty, meaning why? Why would God choose what the world would say is a foolish person? Because it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believed. It is appointed unto us, you guys, to do this work, and we want to help bring you guys up. Do not think for one second that any physical ailment or physical handicap or even mental problem that you may have, and I'm not going to sit here and say it's not hard. The road less traveled is the road that is worth fighting for, and God has given every single one of us an ability to seek to please Him. Brother, you know, Corbin Broxson, in his first service, you know, something we can do to serve God is to sing praises unto God. You know, I love singing the Hams every time we're here, and in ways, in lots of ways, I feel your guys' energy is a lot more enthusiastic than even some people I know in church building. You guys really love singing praises to God, and that's a blessing, and keep moving forward with that. We'll help you in any way, shape, or form we can. I'm not a good singer, so ask them about how to better sing the Hams and stuff, and that's a gift that was given to them, not to me. But hey, I can still serve God in other ways, and so can all of us. Now, like I had mentioned, well, David, it's easy for you to sit there, stand there, and say that. From where you are, it's easy for you to tell us that. Well, let me tell you this. There's a character in the Bible, you've all heard of Moses, right? Raise your hand if you've heard of Moses, one of the most famous characters in the Bible, Moses. If you were to sum up the Old Testament in three characters, Moses, Abraham, David, right? These are major figures that are constantly spoken about, Moses. Did you know that Moses didn't even start his service or start his ministry to the Lord until he was 85 years old? He started to lead the children out of the land of Egypt at 85 years old. See, a lot of people don't realize that. Raise your hand if any of you are 85. Raise your hand, almost? Close? Okay, well hey, that means the best things can still be ahead of you. The things that could be forward in your life, you could look forward to doing great things for God. If God can use Moses at 85, He can use you today, right now, to do something great for God. You know, there's another character, and you don't need to turn there, but if you'd like, turn to Joshua and your Bibles, it's towards the Old Testament, right after the law. You have Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, and right after that is Joshua. The book of Joshua is what they did after they left Egypt and go into the Promised Land. Joshua, chapter 16, I'm sorry, chapter 14, there's a character in the Bible named Caleb. And Caleb was a man that we all can point to as someone who did something great in their latter years. It says in Joshua, chapter 14, verse 6, the Bible reads, Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua and Gilgal. And Caleb the son of Jephunneh the kenazite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the Lord said unto Moses, the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadesh Barnea. Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh Barnea to espy out the land, and I brought him word again, as it was in mine heart. To give you a little context, Joshua, the character, and Caleb were told by Moses to go spy out the land of Canaan, see the report of the people. Can we take these people? Will the Lord grant us victory? And Caleb and Joshua said, yes, we can. We can take these people, and God promised us that land in Canaan. Now all the other people had a bad report, but Caleb and Joshua brought good report, and because of that, God wanted to bless Caleb. It goes on to read in verse 8, Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but I wholly follow the Lord my God. And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet hath trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's forever, because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God. And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years. Pause. So he was forty years old when this happened, and he said he kept him alive forty and five more years. So that means he's eighty-five years old. And it goes on to read, Even since the Lord spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness, and lo, I am this day fourscore in five year. Twenty, forty, sixty, eighty, and five. He's eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me, as my strength was then, even so is my strength now for war both to go out and to come in. Caleb had the right attitude. Look, I am not going to sit here and say I'm expecting you to go conquer a nation and go take over people. I'm not saying that, but what I'm saying is the principle applies, that God can use you in your latter years, man or woman. Now you've all heard this saying, right? You can't teach an old dog new tricks, right? That's foolishness. Of course you can teach any old dog new tricks, right? I literally, my wife does dog breeding, and I have a six year old dog, and I teach him new tricks every single day. Now we're not dogs, we are humans, and God can shine the gospel in our life and the message of his word to share his message with others. So we can, even today, choose to deny ourselves, pick up our cross daily, and to follow after him. But not only that, I'm going to give you just a general sense of taking Christianity out of the equation, okay? And I know that's hard for us to understand. It might be hard and bombarding to some people that like, hey man, we come here, you guys have just started coming, this is your third week, you just keep preaching Bible at us, and you know, it's a little overwhelming. Let's take a normal sense, okay? Let me ask you this, I came to this article online and it talked about amazing feats of elderly people. And did you know that the oldest person to climb Mount Everest was 80 years old? Now once again, I'm not asking you guys to climb Mount Everest. God's not asking you to climb Mount Everest. But I'm just saying that where there is a will, there is a way. And not only that, there's this other lady named Johanna Quass, I think I'm pronouncing her last name right? She was from Germany and is recognized as the world's oldest gymnast at 86 years old. She was a PE teacher before, and then she started gymnastics at 56, and then became the oldest person to do gymnastics, and she's still planning on doing it more. In 2010, at 98 years old, she became the oldest person to receive, oh no, this is a different person, she at 90 years old participated in gymnastic works. Nola Orks, I think that's her last name, became the oldest college graduate in 2007 at 95 years old. Now like I said, I am not telling you guys you have to go get a degree in college, you don't need to go climb Mount Everest, but what I'm trying to help you guys to understand is where there is a will, there is a way. And Jake, Corbin, me, and the staff, we are all here for you. We are here for you, physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, most important on our end, that's what we're here for, but in any way, shape, or form, we would like to assist and serve you guys. And this is the last point I want to go into. If you'd like to, you could turn to Exodus, Exodus chapter 17. Brother Jake preached a sermon that I listened to not long ago, and it talked about how we can achieve great things in our life through miniature goals along the way. Exodus 17. And it's funny because, like I said, you don't climb Mount Everest overnight, you make many goals along the way, right? And a lot of you guys in here, I mean, even just doing something simple like, you know, brushing your teeth, or combing your hair, or doing standard forms of living can be a struggle and hard. But I strongly believe that if you are willing and are determined to keep fighting that, you can achieve big things for God. Now notice what the Bible says in Exodus 17. This is mainly for the staff in here that I want them to know. Exodus 17 verse 8. 17 verse 8, the Bible reads, Then came Amalek and fought with Israel and Rephaim. And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek tomorrow, and I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand. This is Moses saying that there's a battle that's about to go on. Moses is older at this point. He's physically not able to do a lot. So he goes up unto this mountain, and it says, And Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. And it came to pass when Moses held up his hand that Israel prevailed. And when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses' hands were heavy. This is the part I want you to hear. Moses, it was hard for him to keep his hands up. Because when they're up, Israel is winning. When they're down, Israel is losing. For us younger people, staff, or people to assist you guys, it is our job to help guide, assist, and help you. We have a saying in Hawaii, I'm from the island of Kauai, and it says, Malama kapuna, which is take care of our elders. This is a biblical philosophy. It says for instance in Leviticus 19 32, Thou shalt rise before the hoary head, and honor the face of the old man, and fear thy God. I am the Lord. We are here for you. But what happened in the story when Moses was dropping his arms? It goes on to read in verse 12, But Moses' hands were heavy, and they took a stone, and put it under him. And he sat thereon, and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands. The one on the one side, and the other on the other side, and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. The rock is always symbolized as the word of God. Jesus Christ is the rock and the foundation of our whole entire religion is Jesus Christ. Now notice there's nothing in the Bible that's an accident. And it says that they put a rock there for Moses to sit on. You guys need to first lean on the word of God. Lean on Jesus Christ. And then all of us around will help stay you up. You guys deserve honor for the lives that you've lived and the things that you've accomplished. But help us help you. Help us to help you move forward in your life to do great things for God. I believe from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet that some of the greatest things in your life could be ahead of you. And that's all I wanted you guys to know. It's never too late. Let's bow our heads and have a word of prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much for allowing us all to gather together, helping us to understand that it's never too late to serve you. As long as we're here on this earth and you give us breath in our chest, you want us to do something for you. And help us younger people and staff to assist our elderly, to be there for them, to help them out, and help us to help them. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.
