We're gonna go ahead and get started. Let's go ahead and find your seats. And we'll go ahead and pull out the hymnals and we'll open up to our first song for the morning. It'll be song 149. Song number 149, Trusting Jesus. Song number 149. First, simply trusting every day. Trusting through a stormy way. Even when my faith is small. Trusting Jesus, that is all. Trusting as the moments fly. Trusting as the days go by. Trusting him, whatever befall. Trusting Jesus, that is all. Brightly doth his spirit shine. Into this poor heart of mine. While he leads I cannot fall. Trusting Jesus, that is all. Trusting as the moments fly. Trusting as the days go by. Trusting him, whatever befall. Trusting Jesus, that is all. Singing if my way is clear. Praying if the path be clear. If in danger pour and crawl. Trusting Jesus, that is all. Trusting as the moments fly. Trusting as the days go by. Trusting him, whatever befall. Trusting Jesus, that is all. Trusting him, all life shall last. Trusting him, till her earth be past. Till within the tasks go by. Trusting Jesus, that is all. Trusting as the moments fly. Trusting as the days go by. Trusting him, whatever befall. Trusting Jesus, that is all. Amen. Alright, let's go ahead and flip in your hymnals to song 162. A few pages to the right there, song number 162. To God be the glory, 162. First to God be the glory, great things he hath done. So loved he the world that he gave us his Son. Who yielded his life and atonement for sin. And opened the life gate that all may go in. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice. O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son. And give him the glory, great things he hath done. O perfect redemption, the merchants of blood. To every believer, the promise of God. The vilest offender who truly believes. That moment from Jesus, a pardon, receives. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice. O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son. And give him the glory, great things he hath done. Great things he hath taught us, great things he hath done. And great are rejoicing, through Jesus the Son. But poorer and higher and greater will be. Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice. O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son. And give him the glory, great things he hath done. Alright, great singing this morning. So let's go ahead and pull out the bulletins and we'll go over the announcements. If you didn't receive a bulletin this morning, you can go ahead and raise your hand and we'll have brother Chris bring them around to you if you do need one. They're on the front page. We have our Bible verse listed, Proverbs 24, 10. If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. Really good verse to kind of chew on. I did put a nice cool picture on the front there. Got some cool thoughts. But if you open it up on the top left, we have our service times listed. Sunday morning, 10.30 a.m. Sunday evening, 5.30 p.m. And that midweek Bible study is on Thursday at 7 p.m. We have our church wide soul winning times with respective leaders and also our stats. I did make a mistake with that number. We have 224 salvations. The board is correct. I just missed two. We do have one more to add from brother Sampson. Anybody else for Saturday? One. Another one. Two. Was that the same one? Okay, good. Confusing me up here. So we'll go ahead and get those added. Good job soul winning. We are going to be heading out this afternoon at 2 p.m. So if you do want to go, try to be here a little bit early. But there below the stats, we have our upcoming guest preachers. And today, we have brother David Keeper back with us. Definitely thank him for coming out. Blessing having all these guys come and preach for us. Definitely shake his hand. Meet his wife and thank them. And then July 7th, we have pastor Steven Anderson come to preach for us. And that is that midweek service. So we just have faithful word back to the church. Just hooking it up. So big thanks to them. But here on the next page, we do have an expecting lady in the church, sister Christian Rogers. Just definitely keep her in your prayers that everybody stays healthy. We have upcoming events. That Mighty Men's Conference that Steadfast Baptist Church is putting on is taking place August 18th through the 20th. So definitely sign up for that. We're going to get a sign up sheet here soon. And as soon as we get that sign up sheet, try to sign up as soon as you can. That way they can plan accordingly. So that is right around the corner. And we do have our prayer request list. The Goodwin family, keep them in your prayers as well. Brother Edward, his health. Miss Liberty's daughter-in-law's mother, Catherine. Still battling cancer, so keep her in your prayers. And we also have Hold Fast Baptist Church with pastor of the Zarnstein. So keep praying for them. We do have some church reminders listed there at the bottom. Children are not allowed on the stage. Children are not allowed to be running around to the church. If children are a distraction, you should take them out of the sanctuary. We have a mother-baby room with a TV, a monitor, so you can still listen to the preaching. Take them in there. And then in the mother-baby room, just no children, just by themselves unattended. If children are in there, they need to be attended by their mother. So just some quick reminders. But that is the announcement for the morning. We'll go ahead and pull our hymnals back out and go to our third song. It's song number 10. Song number 10, Near the Cross. Song number 10, Near the Cross. First, Jesus, keep me near the cross, There a precious fountain, Free to all the healing stream. Close from Calvary's mountains, In the cross, in the cross, Be my glory ever, Till my rapture soul shall find, Rest beyond the river, Near the cross, a trembling soul. Love and mercy bound me, There the bright and morning star, Sheds its wings around me, In the cross, in the cross, Be my glory ever, Till my rapture soul shall find, Rest beyond the river, Near the cross, the land of God. Bring its seeds before me, Help me walk from day to day, With its shadows for me, In the cross, in the cross, Be my glory ever, Till my rapture soul shall find, Rest beyond the river, Near the cross, I'll watch and wait, Hoping, trusting ever, Till I reach the golden strand. Rest beyond the river, In the cross, in the cross, Be my glory ever, Till my rapture soul shall find, Rest beyond the river. Amen. So, at this time, let's go ahead and pull out your Bibles. Turn in your Bibles to Proverbs chapter number three. Proverbs chapter number three. My brother, Samson, read for us, and we'll go ahead and pass it off. Right. Proverbs chapter number three. If you would, find your places, and we'll read this chapter together. Let's start right here in verse number one, Proverbs chapter three, where the Bible reads, My son, forget not my law, but let thine heart keep my commandments. For length of days and long life and peace shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee, bind them about thy neck, write them upon the table of thine heart. So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not into thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path. Be not wise in thine own eyes, fear the Lord and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel and marrow to thy bones. Honor the Lord with thy substance and with the first fruits of all thine increase. So shalt thy bones be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, neither be weary of his correction. For whom the Lord loveth, he correcteth, even as a father is a son in whom he delights. Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies, and all the things that thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches in honor. For ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths repeat. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her, and happy is every one that retaineth her. The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth, by understanding has established the heaven, by his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the duke. My son, let not them depart from thine eyes, keep sound wisdom and discretion. So shalt thy life be unto thy soul, and gracious to thy neck. Then shalt I walk in the way of safety, and thy foot shall not stumble. When thou lies down, thou shalt not be afraid, yea, they shall lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidant, and shall keep thy foot from being taken. But hold not good from them that whom it is due, when it is thy power of thy hand to do it. Say not unto thy neighbor, Go, and come again, and tomorrow will I give, when thou hast it by thee. Devise not evil against thy neighbor, seeing he dwellest securely by thee. Strive not with a man without cause. If ye have done thee no harm, envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the froward is abomination to the Lord, but his secret is with the righteous. The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked, but he blesseth the habitation of the just. Surely he scorneth the scorners, but he giveth grace unto the lowly. The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the promotion of fools. If I had but quick word of prayer of the Father. Come before you again this morning. First of all, if you can thank for all your presence. Thank you for our church and our congregation. Thank you for bringing brother Keith and his wife down in the day with us, and for their blessings to us. Put in with you a holy spirit, and have it speak to you good, actually. Do thank you all. Amen. Alright, thank you all again for having us this Sunday morning. We just wanted to thank Pastor Shelley for giving us this opportunity to be here. And like brother Nick said, at this point we're basically a part of your guys' church. And it's really nice being here. I like the southern hospitality and the southern food. It's really nice to enjoy. So where I derive the title of this message this morning is found in verse 35. If you would, look down at your Bible. The Bible says, The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the promotion of fools. The title of this message this morning is, Have You No Shame? I'd like to ask you guys a question. Let's do a little test. Raise your hand if you've ever heard this term used by your grandparents. Have you no shame? Keep your hand up if you have had your grandparents say this. Have you no shame? Keep your hand up if you've heard your mother or dad use this term. Have you no shame? Or, that's a shame to do that. Or something along the lines of, it's shameful, X, Y, and Z. Okay, about the same amount of people kept their hands up. Now keep your hands up if you have ever used that word with people in the public. Have you no shame? Oh well, that's good. Virtually a lot of people have kept that tradition moving forward. Because you know what? A lot of people are losing this tradition across the continental U.S. Our grandparents used to walk around. There was a common decency in the world where when you went around, people dressed a certain way, conducted themselves in a certain way, acted a certain way, talked a certain way, just because of common decency. And they would go around when people would do messed up things, say messed up things. They would look them in the eye and say, Have you no shame? Watch your language. Look at what you're wearing. Look at how you're acting. I mean, think about when we go out driving in today's world. It is a free-for-all out there on the roads. And I will admit to you right now, right here, that even I've engaged in having road rage from time to time. But you got to remember, I come from a place, I'm a big fish in a little pond. The island I'm from has 70,000 in population and two lanes running the whole island. You come out here, you got eight lanes and people from all around driving according to their state's practices. And it's truly a war zone out in the highways. And I just think to myself, when you see someone cutting someone off, driving erratically, acting a fool, so to say I look and I think to myself, Have you no shame? Do you not realize we're driving two-ton steel boxes that could potentially kill or hurt someone in the process? I understand that some of these speed limits are silly. But for crying out loud, is it okay to follow the 35 mile per hour speed limit to go 15 in a school zone? Have you no shame if you fly past that with children around? And that's what I want you guys to understand. The word shame or ashamed or some form of that word is found in the Bible some 213 times. So I have a really important rule of Bible interpretation that I apply into my life. And I think it'll help you guys. And it has to do with emphasize what God emphasizes. So if this word keeps coming up, He's trying to tell us something. Have you no shame? We as people, we understand that the Bible says that there is not a just man upon the earth that doeth good and sinneth not. Every single person, me included in here today, have moments of time in our life where we have messed up. We did something wrong. We said something wrong. And we did something sinful. The appropriate reaction to that is to have shame. To be ashamed. And don't think for one second that if someone says, hey, you don't need to be ashamed, that that's a godly practice. Let me give you a dictionary definition of the word shame. A painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior. Ashamed. One definition is feeling shame. It's pretty obvious, right? Guilt or disgrace. Another definition is feeling inferior or unworthy. Now look down at your Bible, if you would, at verse 25. The Bible says in Proverbs 25, be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh for the Lord shall be thy confidence and shall keep thy foot from being taken. Now watch this part in verse 27. Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. You know that old lady walking across the street, right? The Bible says him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not to him it is shame. There used to be a time in this country and across the world when you saw someone in need and in help, you took it upon yourself to do that. If you see an old lady across the street and she's sitting there waiting for a crosswalk to go by and she looks like she can use some help, walk across the street, grab that lady by the hand and help her across the street. Oh, that's cliche, right? Oh, you're too good, you know, for doing something like that. Look, the Bible says that people need to see our good works and glorify our Father which is in heaven. We need to conduct ourselves in a manner that the rest of the world would look at and say to themselves, they are different, how are they different, why are they different, what is it that they're doing? Well, it says right there, withhold not good from them to whom it is due. You know, elderly people deserve respect for crying out loud, they made it this long in their life, they've went through all sorts of trials and tribulations and who knows the things that they've gone through and for a young generation to mock scoff or make fun of or to look down at the elderly is a shame. Have you no shame? Be ashamed of yourself if you look down at the elderly. But not only that, let's keep reading in verse 28. Say not unto thy neighbor, go and come again and tomorrow I will give when thou hast it by thee. Devise not evil against thy neighbor seeing he dwelleth secretly by thee. Strive not with a man without cause if he have done thee no harm. Don't take it upon yourself as Jesus Christ clearly teaches in the New Testament. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind and love your neighbor as yourself. If your enemy is doing you dirty, don't fight fire with fire. That is not Christian in nature. And I'm talking to the extent of you are literally, and I make a joke because in my family, I'm one of six siblings, there's an unfortunate stereotype amongst my siblings that no matter what they do, they're never in the wrong. Right? You never did anything wrong. You were just sitting there reading the Bible to blind children, building handicap stalls for kids, just doing nothing and out of nowhere someone came and punched you in the face. Come on, it takes two to tango. We understand that in our life you could be saying something that is offending someone. You could be doing something that someone takes wrongly. And when they try to fight you or come down at you or persecute you, don't then retaliate with more anger or wrath or malice because at that point you are fighting a losing battle. I understand in math two negatives equal a positive but not when it comes to this subject. But let's keep reading in verse 31. Envy thou not the oppressor and choose none of his ways for the froward is abomination to the Lord. But his secret is with the righteous. The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked but he blesseth the habitation of the jest. Surely he scorneth the scorners but he giveth grace unto the lowly. The wise shall inherit glory but shame shall be the promotion of fools. Turn if you would to Genesis chapter 2. The first example we see this word ashamed in the Bible or shame is found right here. And this should speak volumes to us about the subject of what it means to have shame, to be ashamed or to understand this very common practice that the Bible wants us to know. And it clearly teaches in Genesis chapter 2, this is the story of Adam and Eve. It reads in verse 23. And Adam said this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman because she was taken out of man. So we understand right here that the Bible is clearly teaching that from man came woman. Very obvious. Verse 24 says, Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his wife. And they shall be one flesh. And they were both what? Naked. The man and his wife. And what was the outcome of this? And they were not ashamed. So let me tell you this. The Bible is clearly teaching for instance in the New Testament. It says that the marriage bed is undefiled but whoremongers and whores God will judge. God is showing us a sanctified union between husband and wife. And in the subject of being naked in the presence of your spouse there should and is no shame there. But amongst public, yes, there should be shame there. What did I say earlier? How we conduct ourselves, right? How you dress matters. How you look matters. Jesus Christ says, Cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter that the outside may be clean also. So we do not neglect our outward appearance as people. So let me tell you this. Why then across the world today are women walking around virtually naked? Have you no shame? Are you not ashamed of yourself? Well David, you just said that they weren't ashamed when they were naked. As a married couple, yes, they were not. But that does not mean you go ahead and flaunt everything that you are out into the public. That is not for you to be doing. That's between husband and wife. Look down. I'll show you an example in chapter 3 verse 9. The Bible reads, And the Lord God called unto Adam and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden and I was afraid. Why? Because I was naked and I hid myself. Sin just entered into the body of Adam and Eve and they understand that being naked in public is not good. But what was the outcome of that? Look at verse 21. It reads, Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins and clothe them. When we're out in public, we need to be clothed in a manner that is godly, not according to this world. I don't understand how women could walk around with yoga pants, short shorts, tight skirts, bras basically, and slim fitting outfits and thinking to themselves that that's okay. Now I know there's a standard that the world has made, but that's not God's standard. Well, I'm not naked. I'm wearing three inches of article of clothing. I'm not naked. I mean for crying out loud, if I can virtually see every curvature of your body, then it just leaves it up to the imagination of the person to see what's underneath it. And that is what I want us to understand. We need to look differently, have you no shame. Be ashamed if you as a godly woman are walking out in the public in a short skirt, in a bikini for crying out loud. I'm from Hawaii. Virtually everyone out there is in a bikini. Now I have to, after I got saved, realize the importance of this subject. When I went surfing, I would have to like kind of truly horse tunnel my way into the ocean and just kind of catch some waves and just focus on surfing. But you know what? Let's see what God calls nakedness. The Bible says in Isaiah 20 verse 4, So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians, prisoners, and the Ethiopians, captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their wet buttocks uncovered to the shame of Egypt. So if you're in a bikini out in the public, you're naked. Period. If someone could see your buttocks, you're naked. Period. Well, I'm wearing yoga pants. Yeah, I understand that. But for crying out loud, that is a shameful thing for you to be doing. The Bible says in Exodus 32 verse 25, And then he goes and feeds them the golden calf. He grinds up the golden calf and puts it in their water to drink. Revelation 16 15 says, It is a shameful thing for you to walk out in public looking like the rest of the world. The Bible says, for instance, in the book of James, So if the world is looking and acting like a certain way, shamefully, let not us as Christians practice in what they are doing. And this goes for men as well. Last time I was here, some people were speculating, and I appreciate that, some people were speculating that my hair was starting to get a little long. And they were right. My hair was getting long. I got a haircut if you hadn't noticed. No one said nice haircut, I understand. But it's true, it's starting to get long. And I did that on purpose for a reason. To notice and see how long it would take for someone to walk up to me and be like, Hey David, hair's looking a little long. You know? And I'm not trying to push the limit of sin. I'm not trying to see how long it could go until someone points it out. But I was trying a social experiment, so to say. For my brothers and sisters in Christ to point out something that could be potentially harmful to me. Because, in public, there is a difference between a man and a woman. I know the world doesn't understand this. We understand this, right? And one of the visual distinctions between a man and a woman is their hair length. The Bible says, for instance, in 1 Corinthians 11.14, Doth not even nature itself teach you that if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him. There comes a point where your hair starts getting too long as a man, and why? Because you start looking like a girl. And you ladies, there comes a point where, if your hair starts getting too short, you're starting to look like a guy. Now, I've heard it said, and I agree, that there is this what's called no man's land. And we should, as men and women, not exist in what's called no man's land. If your hair is in the length of just about your shoulders as a guy, how long is long? Well, if it's obvious, then it's obvious. Well, how short is short? If it's obvious, it's obvious. Let's just not exist in that realm. Let's us, as men, keep our hair short. I'm not saying you need to be bald. But, I mean, I have more hair than virtually every guy here. Oh, maybe, well, you got some more hair than me. But, you know, everyone's got different types of hair. God created us all differently with different hairstyles. And, you know, there comes a point where it's very obvious that that's too long and that's too short. So we're going to practice that as Christians and not show shame. Let's not be shameful. Let's not conduct ourselves like the people of this world. But what about mannerisms? What about just, like I had mentioned earlier, helping the old lady across the street? What about when someone, a man, opens a door for a lady in a business? You're going into a store. You're going into the mall. You're going into somewhere and a lady comes walking by and you open the door for them. What's wrong with that? Being polite. We used to live in a world where most people were averagely polite. Yes, sir. Yes, ma'am. Thank you. You're welcome. All these words that we use constantly and should be practicing as Christians so that other people, once again, glorify our Father which is in heaven. Now that's not to say that you have to, and this is why I like coming here, I notice that there's lots of southern hospitality. In coming to a restaurant or a place, a lot of people are like, hey, sir, how you doing? Sit here. Thank you. All these pleasantries that were common practice before outside of Texas and southern states are not so much practice anymore. That's why it's nice coming here. Same thing in Hawaii. In Hawaii, it's a very hospitable place because tourists are coming to visit and vacation so it's very normal to just tell people aloha, mahalo, and all these different terms that are in Hawaiian language which mean these pleasantries, but even to the extent of where someone is doing you dirty, saying something bad to you. Once again, let's not fight the fire with the fire. Someone is on the road, flips you off, flips you the bird as they're driving, right? What I like to do is just be like, hey, how's it going? It chews them up inside. People want to get angry today. Have you no shame? You not realize that God and everyone can see you in your stupidity, driving by, flipping people off, yet using F bombs, using foul language? That goes into my next point, our language, what we say. We shouldn't be engaging in the same vocabulary as the rest of the world. Now, I'm not saying we cannot or should not have harsh language. That's different than foul language. Foul language is not going to be uttered from this pulpit. But harsh language, as the Bible teaches us, will be uttered from the pulpit. For instance, have you no shame? One of my words that I use that is my fed up term is damn it all. Some people get like, oh, they hear damn it. They're like, whoa, is that a bad word? It's like, well, the Bible talks about damnation, people who are damned to hell. So if my mother, when growing up, this is where I got it from, when she was fed up, she would first say like, stop that, please. Hey, stop that, please. Stop what you're, damn it, listen. And it's like, that's my fed up term. But we don't practice that. We're not on a hair trigger to use harsh language. It should be the last resort. I don't want to be known as someone who's aggressive or angry amongst my coworkers or friends or families or brothers and sisters. I want you guys and all of us to communicate peaceably. The Bible says, if at all possible, live peaceably with all men, if at all possible, which means there's a point where you can't live peaceably with all men. But what about music? Do I really got to go into the rabbit hole of what the music? Have you no shame? For crying out loud, some of these ladies up there, I'm not even going to say their names from the pulpit because if I give them attention, then they're going to get what they want out of it. They want little girls to listen to their music, to destroy their lives, to become whores and harlots. For crying out loud, men, rock and roll. I used to listen to a lot of rock and roll. I used to listen to a lot of reggae growing up. And Bob Marley was a big influence in my life as a younger kid. But after time, after realizing the truth of what he's saying in his lyrics, they're blasphemous. They are words that should not be uttered. And music is only getting worse and worse. Have you no shame? Do you not even realize what you're saying? You kiss your mama with that mouth. You know what I'm saying? For crying out loud. To me, it's at that point now where we are in our society that everyone's digressing. Everyone's getting worse and worse. And I say everyone loosely. Obviously, we as God's people, we're not. We're not going to follow the patterns of this world. We need to be a light to shine unto the rest of the world. But the average unsaved unjo, I feel for them. I truly realize that not being raised in a good, godly home will lead you into all stupidity. The Bible says, for instance, in Proverbs 14, 35, The king's favor is toward a wise servant, but his wrath is against him that causeth shame. The Bible also says in Proverbs 19, 26, He that wasteth his father and chaseth away his mother is a son that causeth shame and bringeth reproach. That's why I asked you earlier if you've heard your grandparents say this and you've heard your parents say this. Because earlier in the chapter where we read in Proverbs 3, it keeps talking about gain wisdom. Listen to your parents. Parrot their terminology. And if they're going around telling people who are acting a fool, dressing like idiots, being disrespectful, rude, you don't need to fight every battle and everywhere you go because you'd be all day just like fighting battles. But there comes a point where you should find a line in the sand and be like, hey, watch your mouth. For instance, let me give you a story. One time when I was on the island of Kauai, I was soul winning with my wife. And we're at this, what looks like a, you know, kind of like a, not a condominium, but it's like a bunch of multiple houses on a property. And we're going around, we're dropping off, you know, invites to our ministry and we're knocking on doors trying to get people the gospel and then out of nowhere someone across the street starts yelling, hey, what the F are you doing? Get out of there. So in my head I'm like, oh, it's a disgruntled neighbor who doesn't like the Lord. Okay, well I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing because his property is over there, I just will avoid him, right? He doesn't want an invite so I'll just keep going through the rest of the houses. This guy comes walking out of his house, crosses the street, waddles on up on me and my wife and starts saying all sorts of profanity. And my natural instinct was to get aggressive. It's pretty natural for us men when challenged to, you know, take on that challenge. But I had to stop and realize, practice what I preach and love my enemy. He's not after me, he's after what I'm doing. And I took it upon myself and said, hey, what seems to be going on? That's my parents' house. Okay, are they home? Yeah, but they don't want to hear it. I understand what you're saying. And as calmly as I'm speaking with you now is what I was saying with it. And mama was, you know, taking it upon myself to be like, who do you think you are? I don't care what you think. Your parents will, you know, take it upon themselves if they want to hear this or not. And he just keeps escalating. We need to learn to de-escalate situations when they happen, right? So I'm like, hey, my wife, do you mind watching your language around my wife? We'll go. Just don't be accustomed. That's my wife. There's a lady present. He goes, F your wife. F this and F all this stuff. So like I said, every part of my being wanted to explode. But then I said, you know what? Father, forgive him. He knows not what he does. We go walking away. And as we're walking away and we're crossing his house, he takes his hose and he starts spraying us. And it was actually refreshing, so I was okay with it. Oh, thanks, man. It rains in Kauai virtually every half an hour anyway. So once again, this guy did not even feel any shame that in the presence of a woman, he's using this foul language. Hey, take it up with me. You and me. Let's conduct ourselves a certain way. But not in front of my wife. What about when you're hanging out with friends? And I use this statement a lot. Would you say this in front of your friend's grandmother? I say your friend's grandmother because some people speak foully with their grandparents. So would you say it to another random stranger's grandparents? There's something about having a respect and honor for the elderly that we naturally have that if you're hanging around with friends and they're using foul language, it's like, wait a second, pause. Would you say this to someone's grandmother? Well, no. Then why are you saying, have you no shame? Are you not ashamed of what you're saying? Are you not ashamed of what you look like? What you sound like? How you're acting? For crying out loud, let us remember the importance of having shame. What about movies? Disney just came out recently, right? Saying they openly are promoting sodomy. They're trying to truly put the sodomite agenda through their films. Oh, but Disney ain't got no brother. They're for kids. I understand that. And that's why we realize as Bible-believing Christians the truth of who they are. I mean, our pastor, the pastor here, Pastor Shelley, came out with the documentary, The Sodomite Deception. And I did not want to touch on this subject during this month because look, everyone's talking about it. Sodomy, Pride Month. And I'm going to touch on it just a little bit right now because it is true that the world in digressing, they are taking it upon themselves to infiltrate and corrupt the minds of young people. The battle for the spiritual fight is on the young because they are the future. And if they can manipulate a child's mind, then they in the future will create, as the Bible we know in Revelation, it says, men will wax worse and worse. But let us, as it's said elsewhere, be the 7,000 men who do not bow the knee to Baal because movies today, we shouldn't even be really watching Hollywood films. I watch documentaries. I watch educational stuff. And shoot, I even watch them entertaining things. There I said it. But I understand that if you, I mean, even coming here at the hotel that we're at, I'm sitting there killing time. I'm like just about winding down to go to bed and I turn on the television. I'm just sitting there, what's on? And my wife said this and I noticed it, like on the commercials they're promoting all these different films and shows, the real housewives of basketball players, the this, the, name the, like it is just smut on television today. It is just trash in like every sense of the word. I was just like, I guess we can't watch anything because this is just trash. Call it reality TV. What's real about it? Nothing. So have these people no shame? They don't. I'm going to go into some statistics on drunkenness or alcoholism because what about drug and alcohol use? I only had enough time to put together statistics on alcoholism. We're not going to talk about heavy drugs. We're not going to even talk about other drugs like marijuana or tobacco or things that are hurtful to your body. But for instance, according to the National Center for Drug Abuse Statistics, did you know that 25.8, basically 26% of people ages 18 years and older report binge drinking in the last 30 days? Where are their grandparents? Looking at them and saying, have you no shame? What's binge drinking? It's drinking excessively. Drinking more than the average. Back to back drinking. The Bible says, for instance, in Proverbs 23 verse 35, they have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was sick. They have beaten me and I felt it not. When I shall await, I will seek it yet again. That's a binge drinker. Someone who drinks and wakes up and does it again and they go back and forth and back and forth. How can you walk into the public as a drunk, as a degenerate, sloughing around and just barking at the sky? Have you no shame? Other people are kind of nervous even being near and by you. There's something with us as humans that we don't want to cause issue or strife or debate and that's good. Remember, if at all possible, live peaceably with all men. We don't want to like, when we see someone acting a fool, take it upon ourselves and walk up on them and be like, hey, what the hell are you doing, man? And there's something about us that does that, but inevitably someone has to say it. When you see the drunk on the side of the road begging for money, to what, support his habit? Have you no shame, dude? What? You can't take it upon yourself to work to support your own habit? Contribute to society a little bit? And it's messed up because even some employers will say like, hey, you know, no drinking on the job, but I can't control what you do off the job. And that's true. As employers, you can't tell your employees not to drink off the clock because that's their time. They can do whatever they want. But have you no shame? Another statistic that we find with alcoholism is every day 261 Americans die as a result of excess alcohol use. Dead. Die. This church time, three. Dead. Every day. From some form of alcohol abuse. Like, let that ring into your ears. Let that resonate. 261 is not a lot. Really? What if I lined 261 people up right now and said all of them dead? It's just we need to realize the severity of what this is. Worldwide, up to 3.3 million people die every year as a result of alcohol abuse. That's the whole entire state of Iowa. The whole entire state of Iowa, every year, missing off the face of the planet through what? Alcohol abuse. I tried to find another state that was similar, but Iowa was the closest. Alcohol-related deaths for at least 5.3%, some estimates as high as six, of the world's death. So according to deaths around the world, just about 6% of all deaths are related to alcoholism or some form of it. Ladies, or men, listen to this. Men are three times as likely as a woman to die as a consequence of alcohol abuse. So for every one lady, three guys will die. So men, realize the importance of this. The Bible says in Proverbs 31-3, Let them drink and forget his poverty and remember his misery no more. These people have no shame. That's why they're in that state. They need people to wake them up and shake them and say, stop doing this. You're hurting yourself. You're going to destroy yourself. Have you no shame? Are you not ashamed of yourself? Shoot, at least have some decency to do this in a back alleyway where no one can see you. And it just boggles my mind when you see these degenerates on the side of the road begging for money, crackheads, derelicts, drug abuse. They're just out in the open and no one seems to be like, hey, does anyone realize this problem? Of course we all do, but what can we do? Are we going to be vigilantes and take it upon ourselves and start zip tying guys and throwing them in the drunk bin? No, we can't do that. We have to obey the laws of the land. Why is our government not doing anything about this? Because they have no shame. They have no shame. You heard me. I know everybody who believes in the United States government as this can do nothing wrong is persuaded by that, but realize this, our government, the United States government, and look, I am proud and happy. Let me rephrase that. Not proud. I am happy to be living in America. The freedoms that we get given are a blessing from God. The Bible talks about where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. We outside of other countries have a lot of freedoms to let alone preach the gospel, but to start businesses and do all sorts of great things. But you know what? That does not mean an empire that's on decline will not and does not suppress God's people. Adultery is ramping up. The United States agrees to this no-fault divorce. That is a shame. Have you no shame? It used to be that in yesterday's world when a woman or man was divorced, people would walk up to them and be like, are you okay? Are you all right? Can we help you? What's going on? And people were ashamed to say they were divorced. They were embarrassed to say they were divorced. Not always was it on purpose of the individual, but it was not a socially accepted open thing. It wasn't like, for instance, no-fault divorce. There was fault before. Now people can just, on a flick of a dime, can figure out, oh, not today. I don't want to be married. Did they cheat on you? No. Did they hurt you? No. Did they do something wrong to you? No. I'm done with this. That is a sick, twisted mentality. And our nation supports that no-fault divorce. What a wicked thing. Jeremiah 6, 15 and Jeremiah 8, 12 say, were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? This is symbolic of the nation of Israel and them going and serving other gods, which is symbolic of a husband-and-wife relation. They go and basically whore around with other people. Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? Nay. They were not at all ashamed. Neither could they blush. Therefore, they shall fall among them that fall at the time that I visit. Then they shall be cast down, saith the Lord. So, the Bible is saying that there comes a point where people are numb to shame. They don't even care. They flaunt it. They're okay with it. They do whatever they want, with or without anyone's approval, including the Lord. And that's a famous saying in my house. We tell people, you're going to do what you want to do with or without anyone's approval. Let that sink into your ears. You're going to do what you want to do with or without anyone's approval. That includes God. So, if God says, you are supposed to be together till death do you part or forever, if you don't want that, you're going to do it, even though God said not to do it. And people don't realize that if we as Christians just would stay together in the sanctity of marriage, the rest of the world could look at us and realize that that is something that they are blessed with. The statistics of Christian divorce matches the world. The people who are non-Christian, their divorce rates and Christian divorce rates are virtually identical. Are you not ashamed of that? I'm ashamed of that. We ought to be ashamed that we parrot such an evil, wicked agenda of divorce. And like I had mentioned with Sodomites in pride month, that it is. The Bible says in Proverbs 11, 2, When pride cometh, then cometh shame, but with the lowly is wisdom. Ephesians 5, 12 says, For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. Proverbs 40, 13, Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me, O Lord, make haste to help me. Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it. Let them be driven backward and put to shame, that wish me evil. Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame, they say unto me, Aha, aha, let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee. Let such as love thy salvation say continually, the Lord be magnified. There is a group of people, the sons of the devil, that are after and attacking Christians and they're walking around proudly, this month especially. Obviously, they have no shame. They're proud. The Bible says that the Lord hates a proud look. What about the unsaved that aren't Sodomites? Because I know the world wants you to believe half of the population are the sick, twisted degenerates. But that's not true. It's less than 3%. Now it's a growing number, which means we need more natural predators for them. Men of God speaking the truth, speaking boldly the commandments of God. If the nation would implement the laws of God, guess what animal would be not roaming around in this nation? Sodomites. And yes, you heard me, animals. The Bible calls them brute feasts, twice dead, plucked up by the roots, raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame, wandering stars to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. If men of God would stand up on these pulpits throughout the United States and say that this wicked agenda needs to have a stop, maybe the Lord will have mercy on us and sway the hearts of our leaders to suppress this movement. Josiah was a king. Remember when I was here last time? An eight-year-old who figured this out. So for you kids that are in here listening, listen up. This is not just an adult thing. This is for you kids to know that what they are doing is they are trying to destroy your lives and the lives of the future. You can realize that if even eight-year-old Josiah can figure this out, then it's very obvious that what they're doing is destroying our nation. And we need to preach the truth on this matter. The Bible says in Job 8, 20, Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evildoers till he fill thy mouth with laughter and thy lips with rejoicing. They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame, and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to naught. They may not be ashamed today. They may not be ashamed tomorrow. But one day when they die, which mind you, will happen, they will roast in an eternal pit forever. They'll be ashamed at that moment. And let me tell you this. The Bible says very clearly it's a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God. Laugh it up now. Laugh it up, sodomites. Laugh it up. You think you're taking over this nation? You probably will succeed in that, but you know what? You will never take over the people of God. You ought to be ashamed because you know what? One day it's going to come down on you like a ton of bricks. Everyone's celebrating today, right? Or the other day that, oh, we just overturned Roe v. Wade. Hooray! Have you no shame? That was a law passed 50 years ago. 3,000 children on average dying every day from that moment to now. Hooray! We overturned it. Why was it even put on the books to begin with? As a Christian nation, it boggles my mind that people don't realize the sin of abortion as something that we should have nothing to do with. And in what just happened, look, I'm praising God that that is overturned. That's a good thing. But aren't you ashamed that it even came to fruition? Aren't you even ashamed that it took this long to be put into to act as the law of the land? I'm ashamed. And you know what? Moving forward, let's make sure to scream from the pulpits the severity of what abortion really is. It's murder. We shouldn't glory in this. And look, I understand that some people, some ladies have made the mistake of committing an abortion. Some average one in four women do. But you know what? As Bible-believing Christians, as those that follow the word of God, forsake those things which are behind and press unto the mark of the high calling which is in Christ Jesus. You need to feel shame. Shame is a good thing for us to have. We need to, when we mess up, realize, I'm not saying get on the ground and put sackcloth and ashes on your head. I'm not saying that. But you know, it might behoove you to. It might be a good thing sometimes to prostrate on the ground and beg the Lord for forgiveness of your faults. If we don't forgive men their debts, how will we be forgiven our debts? We need to forgive men their trespasses so that we can be forgiven. And turn, if you would, to 2 Corinthians chapter 7. Us Christians, we need to have shame. And like I had mentioned, you don't need to go flaunting it. You don't need to walk around just like, woe is me. Oh, Lord, my nation, my people. No, man, like, we need to realize that it is healthy to have a level of shame and be sorrowful from time to time. And that's where I want you to look at. 2 Corinthians chapter 7 verse 9. The Bible reads, Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance. For ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. Verse 10, For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation, not to be repented of, but the sorrow of the world worketh death. Pause. This is one of those harder passages in the Bible that a lot of people like to twist and misconstrue. And I'm going to slow this down to help you understand and explain this. Because Calvinists and lots of Protestants will point to this passage to say, You must repent of your sins to be saved, and if not, you are not saved. If I don't see change in your life, you are not saved. The Bible is not teaching that to be saved from our sins, we need to cry on the ground and then believe. Or believe and show signs of sorrow. Now it is a natural effect that when people believe, they do feel sorrow in the wrongdoings of their lives. That's okay, but you don't have to be crying or mourning. It's the good news, you guys. Some people leap for joy, and some people sorrow, and some people are just stoic and just like, I believe it. And it's just a matter of fact, and that's a good thing. But Protestants, primarily Calvinists, will point to this passage saying, You must repent of your sins to be saved. Why? Well you see the word repentance there, and you see the word salvation there. Therefore, you must repent to be saved. Pause, but slow down. Is the word believe in that sentence at all? No. Is the word eternal life found in that sentence at all? No. Is the word faith in that sentence at all? No. Is the kingdom of God found in that sentence at all? No. So the word repentance is there, and the word salvation is there. Did you know that in the Bible, not every time the word salvation is mentioned, is it about your eternal security? Did you know sometimes when the Bible says being saved, it's just in reference to your physical body being saved? Think about when Peter was walking across the water and started drowning, right? The Lord, he stretches out his hand to Jesus and says, Lord save me. From hell or from drowning? He's saving him from drowning, right? Repentance, what does this word mean? It simply means to change your mind or turn, right? Contextually, what's being said in 2 Corinthians, well we just came from 1 Corinthians, right? And what happened in 1 Corinthians? There was a brother, a saved person in the church of Corinth, who is committing a shameful act and sleeping with his dad's wife. It's a shame. They need to be kicked out of the church for that. So kids don't look at that and think that's okay. No, be ashamed of that. Get them out of here. So now we enter into 2 Corinthians, right? This is the second epistle from Paul to the people of Corinth. And he's referring back to that story and he says in context in verse 9, Now I rejoice, pause, zappy, not that you were made sorry, it's kind of messed up to laugh or be happy when someone's sad. Oh, you're sad? Hooray! Yay! No, that's not what he's saying. I rejoice not that you were sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance. Did you know that being sad leads people to doing the right thing? There are three major driving factors in someone's life. Fear, sorrow, and desire. People who are afraid will find themselves doing a lot of things. Through fear they will react, right? Sorrow, sometimes feeling bad or being ashamed of what you've done will lead you into doing the right thing. And desire, remember what I said earlier? You're going to do what you want to do with or without anyone's approval. If you want to sin, guess what you're going to do? If you want to do that which is right, you're going to do it with or without anyone's approval. But sorrow, I know it doesn't say ashamed or shame, but they are similar, sorrow and shame, right? Because remember the definition earlier, it said feeling inferior or unworthy. So sorrow can sometimes make you feel like I am not good enough, right? And it says in the second part of verse 9, But that ye sorrowed to repentance, for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. We don't want to harm you. We don't want you to be destroyed. We want you to be right. Discipline must be a part of this action of shame. And it says in verse 10, For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation, not to be repented of, but the sorrow of the world worketh death. Pause. Raise your hand if you've ever heard of a double negative. Most of us here, kids, double negative means two no's, right? Remember, two no's don't make a right. But sometimes you might hear your parents say, don't not do that. Tongue twister, right? It's a hard one to understand. Don't not do that. That's what's being said here, you guys. It says right here, For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation of your soul? No, save from your destruction that sin will guide you in. Sin will destroy you. To be spiritually minded leads to life and to be carnally minded leads to death. So basically the Bible is saying if you change your mind and you turn from being bad, you will save your physical body from destruction. Or you will save the person from a world of hurt and into a church. Because remember, the goal is to bring this person back to church. And it says right there, For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation, not to be repented of. Do not stop changing your mind on that subject. That is what's being said. You are repenting. You are changing your mind about what you've done. That's good to save you from physical hurt. Don't stop that. Keep that path going. That's what this passage is teaching. So you see the word repent and you see the word salvation and the Calvinist will just run with it. Hey, you need to repent of your sins. Is that what it said or just said repent? Just said repent, right? And you'll be saved from an eternity in hell or just from your destruction. So once again, like I had mentioned, we need to as Christians have shame, sorrow. We need to be embarrassed when we mess up. But that's not the end all. The goal is to get right. Turn if you would to Hebrews chapter 12. This is the last place I'll have you look. Hebrews chapter 12. The goal of once you feel sorrow or shame, to get right. No one wants to see you moping and crying in your room all day, all night. No one wants to see their spouse or their loved one just, you know, woe is me. It's lame to see that. Now, I'll confess, I guess I could be called a mama's boy and I'm very soft when it comes to ladies in my life. My wife, my mom, my sisters, like when I see them sad, it really makes me sad. I don't know about you guys, but when I see the ladies of my life sad, I want everything to do. How can I help you? What do I do for you? You want some cake? Let me get you some cake. How can I make you happy? We don't have children, but if we had a daughter, I'm telling you this, my wife, I tell her this. You have to tell her no all the time because I ain't going to be able to do it. She's going to say, can I have cake for your breakfast? Sure, why not? How do we not make you sad? Whatever you need, but that's not right. Obviously, I'm not going to do that. I'm just saying there's something about little girls or ladies that we feel more obligated to make them feel good. That's a good thing. Remember, have you no shame? That's okay. Some ladies may be taking it upon themselves, these feminazis, to be like, I'm a woman. Hear me, Roy? I don't need no man to help me. Slowly roll check. Every woman loves to be pampered and catered to. Shoot, I wish I could be pampered and catered to. But, you know, I have the Lord pampering and catering me. And long story short, when you are sad or sorrowful, it tentatively comes from discipline or something bad has happened. Now look down, if you would, at Hebrews chapter 12, verse 1. Whereforeseeing, we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses. Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy was set before him and endured the cross. What? Despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. I'm going to pause there really quickly. Jesus Christ suffered shame for us. We follow someone who is tempted at all points, like as we are, yet without sin. So Jesus Christ was known as a man of many sorrows. Of anyone who never deserved to be disciplined or chastened or, you know, see the wrath of God, it's the Lord Jesus Christ. In that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. This is true sacrificial love. This is true real love, right? But let's go on to read. It says in verse three, for consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself. Lest ye be weary and faint in your minds, ye have not yet resisted into blood, striving against sin. Has anyone died for their sin? Didn't think so. Says in verse five, ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children. My son despised not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him. For whom the Lord loveth, he chasteneth and scourges every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons. For what son is he of whom the Father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards and not sons. Pause. If you are being disciplined of God, if in life you realize that you've messed up and you are reaping what you've sown through not going to work, getting a smaller check, disrespecting your wife or your husband, your parents, and you get in trouble for what you've done, no chastening for the moment seemeth to be joyous, yet afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness that they may grow thereby. So, like I said, no one wants to be in trouble, but when it happens, what is the result? Let's keep looking in verse 9. It doesn't seemeth to be joyous, but grievous, the less afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. This is the key I want you to see. Wherefore, anytime you see wherefore or therefore, look what it's there for, right? Because of all these chastenings. Lift up the hands which hang down in the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way, but let it rather be healed. Like I said, you don't need to walk around just like open around like, oh man, I'm so bummed, what was me? Oh, all this stuff sucks, what's going to happen? Why this? It's like pick up your hands, pick up your head. Realize that when you are being chastened, this is a blessing from God because for you to have a level of shame is good. You need to realize the importance of messing up. Why? So you can get right. No one in here ought to leap for joy when they see a brother fall, right? We shouldn't be like, aha, look, so and so failed, yes. What's wrong with you? Paul even said it, remember earlier, it says if I repent not because you were sad. It made me feel bad that you're sad, but I had to do it. And like I said, as the famous saying goes with parents, right? It's going to hurt me more than it's going to hurt you. You know, I'm sure it truly is hard to like discipline someone you love so much for their benefit. And we need to realize the importance of this subject of shame. Have you no shame. Take it upon yourself in your day and your week and in your month as you live your life when you see someone you care about, a neighbor, a loved one, a biological that's not safe, or just someone at work or someone who's using foul language. Just say, hey, man, watch your language. Have you no shame? You see some degenerate crackhead on the side of the road. You don't need to walk up on him. You're like, you bum, and like whip a coke at him. But what you could do is walk up on the person and say, hey, man, can I take you aside and tell you something? You want money, right? Silver and gold have I none, but the gospel of Jesus Christ, that I can give you. You ought to be ashamed of standing out here and being bummed. Your loved one that's walking around scantily clad, your sister, your mother, your brother, whoever. Mom, whoa, I don't want to see this. Like I said, I'm from Hawaii, so a lot of people wear bikinis, and that's just kind of something I had to deal with a lot. But out here, I understand it's different. And let us remember that in our week, we don't need to fight every battle, but we ought to take this statement that our grandparents taught us and our parents taught us, have you no shame. Title of this message this morning is have you no shame. Bow our heads and have a word of prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much for allowing us all to gather together and to realize the importance of true, real shame and to be ashamed of our sin and when we mess up. We don't want to sit there and be bummed out forever, but we realize that if and when you choose in your time to discipline us, that it is for our bettering. And we ought to take it upon ourselves in our day and life when we see moats in people's eyes, once we remove beams out of our eyes, to see clearly how to help others and help us all throughout our day and week. And in Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen. All right, let's go ahead and pull out our hymnals. We'll sing our last song for the morning. It's song number 133. Song 133, Stay Wherever I Go. One, three, three. It's a pretty short, short song. So we're going to go ahead and sing it twice, back to back. Whenever you're ready. First, stay wherever I go. Peace the world cannot know. Sin's all forgiven and heaven my home. I'm safe wherever I go. Safe wherever I go. Peace the world cannot know. Sin's all forgiven and heaven my home. I'm safe wherever I go. Amen, good singing. And with that, you are dismissed. And I did forget to announce something this morning during the announcements. If you did complete the Bible Memory Challenge, we do have your prizes. So if you completed it, come see me right now and we'll go ahead and get you those prizes. You are dismissed.
