29:04.000 --> 29:07.000
Page number 216.

29:09.000 --> 29:15.000
A pilgrim was I and the wandering,

29:15.000 --> 29:21.000
In the cold night of sin I did roam,

29:21.000 --> 29:26.000
When Jesus the kind shepherd found me,

29:26.000 --> 29:32.000
And now I am on my way home.

29:32.000 --> 29:39.000
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,

29:39.000 --> 29:45.000
All the days, all the days of my life.

29:45.000 --> 29:51.000
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,

29:51.000 --> 29:57.000
All the days, all the days of my life.

29:57.000 --> 30:04.000
And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ever,

30:04.000 --> 30:10.000
And I shall have a table set for me.

30:10.000 --> 30:17.000
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,

30:17.000 --> 30:23.000
All the days, all the days of my life.

30:23.000 --> 30:29.000
He restoreth my soul when I'm weary,

30:29.000 --> 30:35.000
He gives me strength day by day,

30:35.000 --> 30:41.000
He leads me beside the still waters,

30:41.000 --> 30:47.000
He guards me each step of the way.

30:47.000 --> 30:53.000
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,

30:53.000 --> 30:59.000
All the days, all the days of my life.

30:59.000 --> 31:05.000
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,

31:05.000 --> 31:11.000
All the days, all the days of my life.

31:11.000 --> 31:18.000
And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ever,

31:18.000 --> 31:24.000
And I shall feast at the table set for me.

31:25.000 --> 31:32.000
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,

31:32.000 --> 31:38.000
All the days, all the days of my life.

31:38.000 --> 31:45.000
When I walk through the dark lonesome valley,

31:45.000 --> 31:51.000
My Savior will walk with me there,

31:51.000 --> 31:57.000
And safely He great hand will lead me,

31:57.000 --> 32:03.000
To the mansions He's gone to prepare.

32:03.000 --> 32:09.000
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,

32:09.000 --> 32:16.000
All the days, all the days of my life.

32:16.000 --> 32:22.000
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,

32:22.000 --> 32:28.000
All the days, all the days of my life.

32:28.000 --> 32:35.000
And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ever,

32:35.000 --> 32:41.000
And I shall feast at the table set for me.

32:42.000 --> 32:48.000
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,

32:48.000 --> 32:54.000
All the days, all the days of my life.

32:54.000 --> 33:02.000
All the days, all the days of my life.

33:02.000 --> 33:06.000
Alright, excellent singing everybody. Brother Ryan, would you please open yourself in a word of prayer?

33:06.000 --> 33:10.000
Your heavenly Father, thank you God for everybody here that can make it, Lord.

33:10.000 --> 33:13.000
And I just thank you that Pastor Thomas can make it today.

33:13.000 --> 33:18.000
And I pray God that you will fill us all with the Holy Spirit as we sing that to you, Lord Jesus. Amen.

33:18.000 --> 33:26.000
Amen. Alright, if you want to take your hymnals, we're going to turn to page 162.

33:26.000 --> 33:34.000
Page 162, to God be the glory.

33:34.000 --> 33:38.000
Page 162.

33:45.000 --> 33:52.000
To God be the glory, great things he hath done.

33:52.000 --> 33:58.000
So loved he the world that he gave us his Son,

33:58.000 --> 34:04.000
Who yielded his life an atonement for sin,

34:04.000 --> 34:10.000
And opened the life gate that all may go in.

34:10.000 --> 34:16.000
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice.

34:16.000 --> 34:23.000
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice.

34:23.000 --> 34:29.000
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son,

34:29.000 --> 34:35.000
And give him the glory, great things he hath done.

34:35.000 --> 34:41.000
O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,

34:41.000 --> 34:47.000
To every believer the promise of God.

34:47.000 --> 34:53.000
The vileest defender who truly believes,

34:53.000 --> 34:59.000
That moment from Jesus, a pardoned receives.

34:59.000 --> 35:05.000
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice.

35:05.000 --> 35:11.000
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice.

35:11.000 --> 35:17.000
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son,

35:17.000 --> 35:23.000
And give him the glory, great things he hath done.

35:23.000 --> 35:29.000
Great things he hath taught us, great things he hath done.

35:29.000 --> 35:35.000
And great are rejoicing through Jesus the Son.

35:35.000 --> 35:41.000
The purer and higher and greater will be,

35:41.000 --> 35:47.000
Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.

35:47.000 --> 35:53.000
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice.

35:53.000 --> 35:59.000
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice.

35:59.000 --> 36:05.000
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son,

36:05.000 --> 36:11.000
And give him the glory, great things he hath done.

36:11.000 --> 36:17.000
All right, excellent singing everybody. It's time we will have our announcements.

36:21.000 --> 36:27.000
Good morning everyone. The verse of the week is Ephesians 1,

36:27.000 --> 36:33.000
Ephesians 1, verse 7, in whom we have redemption through his blood,

36:33.000 --> 36:39.000
The forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace.

36:39.000 --> 36:45.000
Ephesians 1, verse 7. Service times are this morning at 10,

36:45.000 --> 36:51.000
Excuse me, at 10.30 a.m. and 3.30 this afternoon. Wednesday evening Bible study is at 6.30 p.m.

36:51.000 --> 36:57.000
So many times we were yesterday at 12.30 and we had one salvation and today we'll be at 1.00 p.m.

36:57.000 --> 37:03.000
We have a total of salvations. I believe we are one off there,

37:03.000 --> 37:09.000
Because we had one yesterday, right? Yeah. Okay. So I believe we are actually at 30

37:09.000 --> 37:15.000
For March for a total of 51 for the year so far. Amen.

37:15.000 --> 37:21.000
So amen. Set a goal. Hey, we're on the track to reach it.

37:21.000 --> 37:27.000
So that's awesome. Also, as you all know, Pastor Thompson is in because we are celebrating our 7th year anniversary.

37:27.000 --> 37:33.000
Seven years. Not all the same place, not all the same faces,

37:33.000 --> 37:39.000
But Lord help us, we have kept going and we are serving God and we want to continue for another seven years.

37:39.000 --> 37:45.000
So it's a time worth celebrating. Just so you understand, March 8th through April 1st,

37:45.000 --> 37:51.000
We have the Bible Memorature. You have until Wednesday to recite Psalms 23, Psalms 23.

37:51.000 --> 37:57.000
So if you can recite that to Brother Remy or Miss Kylie, there is a reward.

37:57.000 --> 38:03.000
Not sure what that is, but there is a reward for your hard labor. So something worth doing.

38:03.000 --> 38:09.000
So we have a lot of people joining us for both services today and that's quite a blessing.

38:09.000 --> 38:15.000
Have them come out. April 1st will be the Lord's Supper. That is this Wednesday.

38:15.000 --> 38:21.000
We just had a sermon about how we practice that here. So hopefully you will all be able to attend and

38:21.000 --> 38:27.000
Partake in the Lord's Supper this coming Wednesday. If you have any other questions about that, please talk to Brother Remy.

38:27.000 --> 38:33.000
So the event which is next Saturday will be the Soul Winning Mega Marathon in Cheney.

38:33.000 --> 38:39.000
Please talk to Ryan or Brother Remy for further details. But this is an event, if you aren't aware,

38:39.000 --> 38:45.000
That we do throughout multiple areas around this country and throughout the world. So it's just a nice time.

38:45.000 --> 38:51.000
We go together, we try to do a push for Soul Winning and then at the end of the day, they tally how many we have around the world.

38:51.000 --> 38:57.000
We are not the only church that goes out. It may feel like times because we feel

38:57.000 --> 39:03.000
There's just a few people that do flyer dropping around here. But remember, this is a national and international push for souls.

39:03.000 --> 39:09.000
So it's just always great to be reminded of that with events like this.

39:09.000 --> 39:15.000
April 5th, coming up next Sunday is Easter. Easter is coming. So we're going to have an Easter message.

39:16.000 --> 39:22.000
We're also going to have another kids choir performance. That was a blessing for Christmas. It's going to be a blessing again.

39:22.000 --> 39:28.000
I'm excited to see that. So make sure you come out and there may be a potluck after the morning service.

39:28.000 --> 39:34.000
So sign up, let us know what you're bringing so we can fill up any gaps we have. And hey, if we have any family, relatives, coworkers, friends,

39:34.000 --> 39:40.000
Or strangers in the streets you want to invite, Easter is always the best time to actually bring.

39:41.000 --> 39:47.000
Because most people know, a lot of people know, well Christmas and Easter I should go to church.

39:47.000 --> 39:51.000
And if that's who you're bringing in, hey, might as well bring them here.

39:51.000 --> 39:57.000
Hopefully get them plugged in and hopefully get them discipled. But it is just a great time to invite people.

39:57.000 --> 40:03.000
Coming up on April 12th, just a couple Sundays from now, will be the next men's preaching night.

40:03.000 --> 40:09.000
So further details, if you're interested in doing that, please let brother Remy know. We'll get a schedule worked out for that.

40:09.000 --> 40:17.000
But hey, it's always a blessing to see and train further men to get into the word more deeply and present what they can find to the rest of us.

40:17.000 --> 40:20.000
So it's a big push we have in this church, so it's just a blessing.

40:20.000 --> 40:28.000
Coming up on the Saturday after that, on April 18th, will be the Natus Presse Soul Winning Marathon in Orofeno, Idaho.

40:28.000 --> 40:36.000
And that's going to be with brother David out of Boise. But ask brother Remy for further details and let him know if you're willing to go.

40:36.000 --> 40:40.000
So I believe it's a three and a half hour drive from here, somewhere around there.

40:40.000 --> 40:45.000
So it's going to be a good day trip, but it's going to be out to Indian Reservation out there.

40:45.000 --> 40:55.000
And hey, it'd be great to go out there. We love putting these presses and just it's just always good to get out there and do these events, especially when we're bringing churches together.

40:55.000 --> 41:02.000
April 21st will be the next homeschool day. That's at 11 a.m. and it's going to be right here in the church building.

41:02.000 --> 41:09.000
If you're wanting to participate in that, as I know many of the homeschoolers have, you know, just let Miss Kylie know and she'll just be able to plan.

41:09.000 --> 41:13.000
I know usually there are snacks, games, a whole bunch of activities for the kids.

41:13.000 --> 41:19.000
And it always looks like it's been about fun. I'm always working, but it always looks like fun from the photos I see.

41:19.000 --> 41:23.000
So just let you know if you want to participate.

41:23.000 --> 41:30.000
Kids, your memory verse currently is Philippians 4, verse four, Philippians 4, verse four.

41:30.000 --> 41:34.000
Rejoice in the Lord always. And again, I say rejoice.

41:34.000 --> 41:41.000
And if you can memorize that verse and recite it to Miss Kylie, you will receive a reward of a piece of candy.

41:41.000 --> 41:47.000
Tithing information is down below. The rules of the church all the same.

41:47.000 --> 41:51.000
Birthdays have all been celebrated purely because it's listed here.

41:51.000 --> 41:58.000
Coming up this week will be Jason and sorry, the Grabers and the Hansons anniversary.

41:58.000 --> 42:06.000
As listed on here and the Larsen's. Yeah, I just said.

42:06.000 --> 42:11.000
Tomorrow. Oh, sing the anniversary song. Oh, that's right.

42:11.000 --> 42:16.000
For some reason, I forgot that we did that. I apologize.

42:16.000 --> 42:20.000
It's just happy anniversary, right? Happy birthday, right? We can do it.

42:20.000 --> 42:25.000
Hey, we got a call. We'll see how it goes. I'm not the song leader, so you all know how that will go.

42:25.000 --> 42:31.000
Hey, if you join me in singing both couples, happy anniversary.

42:31.000 --> 42:40.000
Happy anniversary to you. Happy anniversary to you.

42:40.000 --> 42:45.000
Happy anniversary. God bless you.

42:45.000 --> 42:50.000
Happy anniversary to you.

42:50.000 --> 42:57.000
All right. Thank you for remind me. I had forgotten about anniversaries.

42:57.000 --> 43:03.000
So with that, it's a blessing. Just remember it's our anniversary.

43:03.000 --> 43:08.000
It's always great to have. And also another thing. Thanks for everyone who came out yesterday. It was fun.

43:08.000 --> 43:13.000
I think everyone found a blessing and let's give thanks that pastor is feeling better.

43:13.000 --> 43:21.000
I know we were worried about yesterday. So but with that, if you have any other prayer requests that you would like to get into the bulletin, please let the Thompson's zone.

43:21.000 --> 43:25.000
They will get it into the bulletin. But if you would now, let's join me with a word.

43:38.000 --> 43:43.000
Thank you.

44:08.000 --> 44:13.000
Thank you.

44:38.000 --> 44:43.000
Thank you.

45:08.000 --> 45:13.000
Thank you.

45:38.000 --> 45:43.000
Thank you.

45:43.000 --> 45:48.000
Thank you.

45:48.000 --> 45:55.000
All right. If you want to take your Bibles or your song books, we're going to go ahead and turn to Psalm chapter number 11.

45:55.000 --> 46:00.000
Psalm chapter number 11.

46:00.000 --> 46:05.000
Psalm chapter number 11.

46:05.000 --> 46:10.000
In the Lord could I my trust.

46:10.000 --> 46:15.000
We're going to sing it out on the first.

46:15.000 --> 46:20.000
In the Lord could I my trust.

46:20.000 --> 46:25.000
I'll say to my soul.

46:25.000 --> 46:30.000
To your mountain for low the wicked bend their bow.

46:30.000 --> 46:35.000
They make ready their arrow.

46:35.000 --> 46:40.000
That they may privilege shoot at the upright in heart.

46:40.000 --> 46:45.000
If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

46:45.000 --> 46:50.000
What can the righteous do?

46:50.000 --> 46:55.000
The Lord is in his holy temple.

46:55.000 --> 47:00.000
The Lord's throne is in heaven.

47:00.000 --> 47:05.000
His eyes behold, his eyelids try the children of men.

47:05.000 --> 47:10.000
The Lord tried the righteous, but the wicked.

47:10.000 --> 47:15.000
His soul hate.

47:15.000 --> 47:20.000
His soul hate.

47:20.000 --> 47:25.000
He shall rain.

47:25.000 --> 47:30.000
And horrible tempest.

47:30.000 --> 47:35.000
The portion of their cup for the righteous Lord.

47:35.000 --> 47:40.000
Love with righteousness.

47:40.000 --> 47:45.000
His countenance doth behold.

47:45.000 --> 47:50.000
Doth behold the upright.

47:50.000 --> 47:55.000
In the Lord could I my trust.

47:55.000 --> 48:00.000
I'm going to sing a little bit of the song that we have.

48:00.000 --> 48:05.000
We are faithful for yet another year.

48:05.000 --> 48:10.000
We are supported by our short efforts.

48:10.000 --> 48:15.000
Jesus name.

48:15.000 --> 48:20.000
Jesus name.

48:45.000 --> 48:50.000
Good morning everybody.

48:50.000 --> 48:55.000
Welcome to the Shere Foundation Baptist Church.

48:55.000 --> 49:00.000
If you could take your Bibles and turn to 1 Timothy chapter 1.

49:00.000 --> 49:05.000
1 Timothy chapter 1 will be our text this morning.

49:05.000 --> 49:10.000
And as always here at our church we read the entire chapter before the preaching.

49:10.000 --> 49:15.000
1 Timothy chapter 1 the Bible reads.

49:15.000 --> 49:20.000
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of our God,

49:20.000 --> 49:25.000
of God our Savior and the Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope.

49:25.000 --> 49:30.000
Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith, grace, mercy and peace from God our Father

49:30.000 --> 49:35.000
and Jesus Christ our Lord.

49:35.000 --> 49:40.000
I have been told by the Lord, and I have been told by the Lord,

49:40.000 --> 49:45.000
and I have been told by the Lord, and I have been told by the Lord,

49:45.000 --> 49:50.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

49:50.000 --> 49:55.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

49:55.000 --> 50:00.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

50:00.000 --> 50:05.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

50:05.000 --> 50:10.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

50:10.000 --> 50:15.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

50:15.000 --> 50:20.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

50:20.000 --> 50:25.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

50:25.000 --> 50:30.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

50:30.000 --> 50:35.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

50:35.000 --> 50:40.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

50:40.000 --> 50:45.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

50:45.000 --> 50:50.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

50:50.000 --> 50:55.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

50:55.000 --> 51:00.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

51:00.000 --> 51:05.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

51:05.000 --> 51:10.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

51:10.000 --> 51:15.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

51:15.000 --> 51:20.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

51:20.000 --> 51:25.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

51:25.000 --> 51:30.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

51:30.000 --> 51:35.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

51:35.000 --> 51:40.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

51:40.000 --> 51:45.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

51:45.000 --> 51:50.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

51:50.000 --> 51:55.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

51:55.000 --> 52:00.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

52:00.000 --> 52:05.000
and I have been told by the Lord,

52:05.000 --> 52:06.000
Amen.

52:06.000 --> 52:09.000
This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy,

52:09.000 --> 52:14.000
according to the prophecies which went before on thee,

52:14.000 --> 52:19.000
that thou by them mightest war a good warfare,

52:19.000 --> 52:22.000
holding faith and a good conscience,

52:22.000 --> 52:25.000
which some having put away concerning faith,

52:25.000 --> 52:27.000
have made shipwreck,

52:27.000 --> 52:30.000
of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander,

52:30.000 --> 52:32.000
whom I have delivered unto Satan,

52:32.000 --> 52:36.000
that they may learn not to blaspheme.

52:36.000 --> 52:38.000
Brother Remy, could you please pray for the preaching?

52:38.000 --> 52:39.000
Yeah, I did pray for God's name.

52:39.000 --> 52:41.000
Thank you so much for everything you do for us, God.

52:41.000 --> 52:43.000
Thank you so much for everybody that was able to come this morning.

52:43.000 --> 52:46.000
I just pray that you be with my dad as he preached this sermon.

52:46.000 --> 52:47.000
I pray that he build me for the Holy Spirit,

52:47.000 --> 52:49.000
and I pray that we all pay attention,

52:49.000 --> 52:53.000
and I just pray that you would help us to understand this passage

52:53.000 --> 52:55.000
and understand this truth.

52:55.000 --> 52:57.000
Amen.

52:57.000 --> 52:58.000
Amen.

52:58.000 --> 52:59.000
It's great to be back in Spokane,

52:59.000 --> 53:05.000
and I'm sorry that I wasn't able to spend more time with you yesterday at all.

53:05.000 --> 53:07.000
Actually, I didn't spend any time with you yesterday,

53:07.000 --> 53:12.000
but I am feeling better, and I appreciate the prayers.

53:12.000 --> 53:14.000
It was definitely a crappy situation.

53:14.000 --> 53:18.000
So anyway, it's seven years.

53:18.000 --> 53:21.000
I mean, that's been a long time, you know?

53:21.000 --> 53:25.000
So almost on the bigger side of a decade here,

53:25.000 --> 53:28.000
and our church has gone through a lot of things.

53:28.000 --> 53:30.000
It's had a lot of changes,

53:30.000 --> 53:33.000
but there's still a lot of the same faces here, amen?

53:33.000 --> 53:35.000
So we have added some new people,

53:35.000 --> 53:39.000
and I really like the direction that our church is going here,

53:39.000 --> 53:43.000
and very happy with all the results of everything.

53:43.000 --> 53:47.000
In the last seven years, we've had, like Brother Paul was saying,

53:47.000 --> 53:50.000
right around 1,000 people saved.

53:50.000 --> 53:55.000
Many sermons have been preached and heard around the world.

53:55.000 --> 53:58.000
Some multiple times.

53:58.000 --> 54:00.000
We've had families started and children born into the church

54:00.000 --> 54:03.000
that weren't here before.

54:03.000 --> 54:07.000
Brother Daniel, how many children did you have when you first started here?

54:07.000 --> 54:10.000
Three and four pregnant with four.

54:10.000 --> 54:13.000
Wow. And then now you have how many now?

54:13.000 --> 54:16.000
We had two pregnant with third, and now we have seven.

54:16.000 --> 54:18.000
Okay, yeah, seven. Wow.

54:18.000 --> 54:19.000
So you've had many children born in here,

54:19.000 --> 54:22.000
and then Brother Jason wasn't even married when we first started the church.

54:22.000 --> 54:24.000
Now he's married, and he has multiple children.

54:24.000 --> 54:27.000
So it's like, you know, there's just been a lot of changes,

54:27.000 --> 54:29.000
and these kids are getting older.

54:29.000 --> 54:32.000
Man, they're growing like weeds here.

54:32.000 --> 54:35.000
So we've had a lot of children born in here,

54:35.000 --> 54:39.000
and you know, our church is going in the right direction, I believe,

54:39.000 --> 54:40.000
and it's growing.

54:40.000 --> 54:44.000
People are getting saved, and we're doing lots more events, I've noticed,

54:44.000 --> 54:46.000
and that's great to see.

54:46.000 --> 54:49.000
I know that Brother David's really happy that you guys are joining him

54:49.000 --> 54:51.000
on the Nez Perce soul-winning.

54:51.000 --> 54:53.000
It's interesting because when I was a kid,

54:53.000 --> 54:56.000
I was really interested in the Nez Perce and studied them

54:56.000 --> 55:02.000
because they used to actually teach real history back in the day,

55:02.000 --> 55:05.000
but they were like famous for breeding the Appaloosa horses.

55:05.000 --> 55:08.000
I don't know if you've ever heard of the Appaloosa horses,

55:08.000 --> 55:13.000
but it's a specific breed of horses that they were famous for.

55:13.000 --> 55:20.000
And Chief Joseph, of course, he's, I believe, he's buried in Walla,

55:20.000 --> 55:24.000
the town of Joseph, which is in Oregon, actually,

55:24.000 --> 55:26.000
and it's by Wallala Lake.

55:26.000 --> 55:28.000
It's like really close to Wallala.

55:28.000 --> 55:30.000
Who's ever been to Wallala Lake?

55:30.000 --> 55:31.000
Anybody?

55:31.000 --> 55:32.000
It's pretty cool.

55:32.000 --> 55:33.000
It's really nice up there,

55:33.000 --> 55:34.000
but it's been a long time since I've been there,

55:34.000 --> 55:36.000
probably since I was like 12 years old,

55:36.000 --> 55:38.000
so I think it's more resort-y now.

55:38.000 --> 55:41.000
You've got go-karts and all that kind of dumb stuff.

55:41.000 --> 55:44.000
Anyway, so yeah, I mean, it's really interesting,

55:44.000 --> 55:48.000
and I'm really upset because I planned something on the same weekend

55:48.000 --> 55:49.000
that you guys are doing that,

55:49.000 --> 55:52.000
and I just completely spaced it off,

55:52.000 --> 55:54.000
and I feel really bad because I really wanted to go to that.

55:54.000 --> 55:58.000
But maybe there'll be another opportunity for us to go and do that,

55:58.000 --> 56:01.000
but I'm definitely praying that you guys get a lot of people saved

56:01.000 --> 56:03.000
and that the people there are respected.

56:03.000 --> 56:08.000
And he was like, I think he was one of the last people to,

56:08.000 --> 56:11.000
I know that they were fighting up until the end,

56:11.000 --> 56:13.000
and I think that they finally had to surrender

56:13.000 --> 56:17.000
and that they got the different reservations and things like that.

56:17.000 --> 56:20.000
So I had no idea that their main town was in Idaho, though.

56:20.000 --> 56:24.000
I thought it was more in Oregon, but I guess I didn't know.

56:24.000 --> 56:27.000
So anyway, I'm still looking forward to our church doing mighty and great things,

56:27.000 --> 56:31.000
and I think that it's important that we know kind of,

56:31.000 --> 56:34.000
obviously we know we're in a spiritual war.

56:34.000 --> 56:37.000
From the day that we get saved,

56:37.000 --> 56:40.000
we don't realize that we're enlisted in the Lord's Army,

56:40.000 --> 56:43.000
but it's a surprise draft.

56:44.000 --> 56:47.000
It's like that's not part of the salvation message.

56:47.000 --> 56:49.000
When we give it to people, we don't go,

56:49.000 --> 56:51.000
hey, and by the way, once you call upon the name of the Lord,

56:51.000 --> 56:53.000
you get saved, you're in the Lord's Army.

56:53.000 --> 56:55.000
We don't tell them that.

56:55.000 --> 56:58.000
Because maybe people wouldn't pray or something, I don't know.

56:58.000 --> 57:02.000
But I'm actually going to preach, this is going to be two sermons,

57:02.000 --> 57:04.000
so don't get too nervous about this,

57:04.000 --> 57:08.000
but in the title of the sermon is War a Good Warfare.

57:08.000 --> 57:10.000
War a Good Warfare.

57:10.000 --> 57:12.000
So this is going to be just part one,

57:12.000 --> 57:14.000
and I'm going to finish the rest of it tonight.

57:14.000 --> 57:17.000
So if I have to end it abruptly,

57:17.000 --> 57:19.000
and it seems like it's not really the end of a sermon,

57:19.000 --> 57:22.000
it's not really because it's kind of my style of sermon, really long.

57:22.000 --> 57:25.000
So I figured I would just cut it in half or something.

57:25.000 --> 57:28.000
So it might even be long anyway, whether I cut it in half or not.

57:28.000 --> 57:30.000
So it's just how it is.

57:30.000 --> 57:32.000
But I think this is really important for our church.

57:32.000 --> 57:34.000
If we're going to last another seven years,

57:34.000 --> 57:37.000
we've got to realize some of the things that might trap us.

57:37.000 --> 57:41.000
And I just thought it would be good to touch on the subject

57:41.000 --> 57:43.000
of warring a good warfare.

57:43.000 --> 57:45.000
Look at verse number 18, the Bible says,

57:45.000 --> 57:48.000
This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy,

57:48.000 --> 57:51.000
according to the prophecies which went before on thee,

57:51.000 --> 57:55.000
that thou by them mightest war a good warfare.

57:55.000 --> 58:01.000
And so Paul is charging his convert, and this pastor, Timothy,

58:01.000 --> 58:05.000
who's a young pastor at this time, and he says,

58:05.000 --> 58:08.000
Hey, I'm charging, I'm telling you, you've got to war a good warfare.

58:08.000 --> 58:11.000
So when people say, well, I can't believe all the fighting that goes on

58:11.000 --> 58:16.000
within Christianity, it's like, well, we're supposed to war a good warfare.

58:16.000 --> 58:20.000
It's just not necessarily supposed to get nasty and dirty

58:20.000 --> 58:22.000
when it comes to certain aspects of it.

58:22.000 --> 58:26.000
And we also have to realize that we can't be like them.

58:26.000 --> 58:28.000
We can't be like the world. We can't be like the reprobates.

58:28.000 --> 58:31.000
We can't be like people that can just make up things

58:31.000 --> 58:34.000
and say and lie and do whatever they want.

58:34.000 --> 58:38.000
We are different as Christians, and we need to be a cut above

58:38.000 --> 58:42.000
and not get down on their level and fight the way that, you know,

58:42.000 --> 58:47.000
we have to fight fair. We have to fight because it says war a good warfare.

58:47.000 --> 58:51.000
See that? So a good warfare means that we're not going to the tactics

58:51.000 --> 58:53.000
that somebody else would go to.

58:53.000 --> 58:57.000
I mean, there's some, you know, military, you know, back in the day,

58:57.000 --> 59:00.000
there used to be some honor in the military where you're not getting sniped

59:00.000 --> 59:04.000
from some building a mile away in the back of the head when you're not

59:04.000 --> 59:07.000
and you're just talking to somebody and all of a sudden the person is just dead

59:07.000 --> 59:11.000
or whatever. And I mean, it used to be people lined up.

59:11.000 --> 59:15.000
They put their battle in a ray, and then, you know, they would fight

59:15.000 --> 59:19.000
or not fight. They would send in a passage or whatever to, you know,

59:19.000 --> 59:23.000
to try to straighten things out and maybe not go to war.

59:23.000 --> 59:27.000
Because, look, there's certain people we don't want to go to war with.

59:27.000 --> 59:33.000
We don't want to go to war with the world necessarily unless that war comes to us

59:33.000 --> 59:37.000
by natural means, like preaching the word of God or, you know,

59:37.000 --> 59:41.000
they don't like something that we're saying and then they get mad about that.

59:41.000 --> 59:44.000
And we can't really help that. But there's also people in our lives

59:44.000 --> 59:47.000
that we don't really necessarily want to go to war with,

59:47.000 --> 59:49.000
but sometimes it might be necessary.

59:49.000 --> 59:53.000
And then, of course, we have a war within our flesh that we have to fight.

59:53.000 --> 59:56.000
And that's a war that's a daily battle.

59:56.000 --> 01:00:00.000
You know, we're constantly in warfare. It's like the Vietnam dog or whatever,

01:00:00.000 --> 01:00:03.000
the meme, and it has all the helicopters and everything,

01:00:03.000 --> 01:00:05.000
and the dog is just going crazy or whatever.

01:00:05.000 --> 01:00:08.000
That's kind of like what the Christian life is like sometimes.

01:00:08.000 --> 01:00:11.000
It's like you kind of feel like, you know, when's this war going to end?

01:00:11.000 --> 01:00:13.000
It's like, well, when we die.

01:00:13.000 --> 01:00:17.000
You know, and then, of course, the ultimate end of the war is when the Lord Jesus Christ

01:00:17.000 --> 01:00:20.000
comes back and makes things how they're supposed to be,

01:00:20.000 --> 01:00:23.000
gives us our war-fired bodies, and we rule and reign with them for a thousand years.

01:00:23.000 --> 01:00:26.000
And again, we're going to be the ultimate power in this world,

01:00:26.000 --> 01:00:29.000
and of course, led by our King, the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:00:29.000 --> 01:00:35.000
I saw an article today that said Seattle is possibly going to have

01:00:35.000 --> 01:00:41.000
100,000 people at their No Kings protest or whatever.

01:00:41.000 --> 01:00:43.000
I don't know if they end up getting 100,000 people.

01:00:43.000 --> 01:00:44.000
That's a lot of people though.

01:00:44.000 --> 01:00:47.000
I can believe it in Seattle because there are a bunch of weirdos up there.

01:00:47.000 --> 01:00:51.000
But, you know, 100,000 people to protest? No Kings?

01:00:51.000 --> 01:00:54.000
Well, sorry, but King Jesus is coming whether you like it or not.

01:00:54.000 --> 01:00:59.000
And you say no Kings, he's going to dash you into pieces like a potter's vessel.

01:00:59.000 --> 01:01:04.000
So like it or not, we are in a war, and sometimes people don't like to see war.

01:01:04.000 --> 01:01:09.000
War is ugly. War is something that we don't like to do sometimes,

01:01:09.000 --> 01:01:14.000
but, you know, Paul is clearly telling Timothy to war good for warfare.

01:01:14.000 --> 01:01:18.000
So good. Well, let's finish these couple verses here.

01:01:18.000 --> 01:01:22.000
Holding faith, verse 19, and a good conscience.

01:01:22.000 --> 01:01:28.000
So faith, a good conscience, which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck,

01:01:28.000 --> 01:01:32.000
of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have delivered unto Satan,

01:01:32.000 --> 01:01:34.000
that they learn not to blaspheme.

01:01:34.000 --> 01:01:37.000
So, you know, then Paul brings up these guys that, you know,

01:01:37.000 --> 01:01:41.000
they put away these things and they're fighting dirty basically.

01:01:41.000 --> 01:01:47.000
And Paul brings up their names so they're forever etched in the Bible for all time as bad guys.

01:01:47.000 --> 01:01:51.000
Bad guys that were doing bad things, and these are enemies.

01:01:51.000 --> 01:01:54.000
And he said, I'm going to deliver them to Satan.

01:01:54.000 --> 01:01:56.000
People think that Satan is their buddy or something.

01:01:56.000 --> 01:01:59.000
These people that are, you know, serving him and saying, you know,

01:01:59.000 --> 01:02:03.000
we'll knock on people's doors and they'll go, I believe in Satan or whatever.

01:02:03.000 --> 01:02:06.000
It's just like, I think they do that to shock us or something.

01:02:06.000 --> 01:02:10.000
Like we're going to go, oh no, you know, put the crucifix up to the...

01:02:10.000 --> 01:02:14.000
That doesn't faze me at all, you know.

01:02:14.000 --> 01:02:16.000
Most of the time I think they're just full of it.

01:02:16.000 --> 01:02:17.000
They're not really...

01:02:17.000 --> 01:02:19.000
They're just saying that so that we'll leave or whatever,

01:02:19.000 --> 01:02:21.000
which, you know, they could just say we're not interested

01:02:21.000 --> 01:02:23.000
and I would do just as much, you know.

01:02:23.000 --> 01:02:25.000
It doesn't bother me.

01:02:25.000 --> 01:02:27.000
But sometimes I believe them.

01:02:27.000 --> 01:02:28.000
Sometimes they might look like it, you know,

01:02:28.000 --> 01:02:32.000
that if they all have old black fingernails and like some black lipstick and eyeliner,

01:02:32.000 --> 01:02:36.000
it's a dude or something, they look like the lead singer of The Cure.

01:02:36.000 --> 01:02:38.000
You know, they...

01:02:38.000 --> 01:02:40.000
I might believe them on that part.

01:02:40.000 --> 01:02:41.000
Is this my water right here or is this somebody else's?

01:02:41.000 --> 01:02:44.000
All right.

01:02:44.000 --> 01:02:47.000
So I says...

01:02:47.000 --> 01:02:51.000
So Paul is telling him to have a good work, to war a good warfare.

01:02:51.000 --> 01:02:53.000
Now...

01:02:56.000 --> 01:03:02.000
So evil is something that people misconstrue and the word evil,

01:03:02.000 --> 01:03:06.000
they'll think that it just means like, you know, that you're just pure evil.

01:03:06.000 --> 01:03:07.000
And it can mean that.

01:03:07.000 --> 01:03:10.000
But it also means...

01:03:10.000 --> 01:03:12.000
It also means just harm in general.

01:03:12.000 --> 01:03:14.000
So...

01:03:14.000 --> 01:03:17.000
And you don't have to turn here, but Amos 3.6 says,

01:03:17.000 --> 01:03:21.000
shall a trumpet be blown in the city and the people not be afraid?

01:03:21.000 --> 01:03:26.000
Shall there be evil in a city and the Lord hath not done it?

01:03:26.000 --> 01:03:31.000
The Lord is the one that obviously allows evil to come to pass.

01:03:31.000 --> 01:03:33.000
But, you know, it's...

01:03:33.000 --> 01:03:36.000
It flat out says that he has done it, you know,

01:03:36.000 --> 01:03:39.000
and sometimes people have it coming.

01:03:39.000 --> 01:03:45.000
And we should not shy away from when people get smoked

01:03:45.000 --> 01:03:49.000
and things like that when it comes to them messing with the church and whatnot.

01:03:49.000 --> 01:03:53.000
You know, people sympathizing with someone that has some kind of

01:03:53.000 --> 01:03:55.000
evil plague rise up in them or something and be like,

01:03:55.000 --> 01:03:58.000
well, it's probably just because he's saved and, you know,

01:03:58.000 --> 01:04:01.000
he's just going through some stuff and needs to be chased.

01:04:01.000 --> 01:04:05.000
No, you know, sometimes God is just destroying people.

01:04:05.000 --> 01:04:07.000
So what does good mean?

01:04:07.000 --> 01:04:11.000
Good means, you know, like, well, what does good mean?

01:04:11.000 --> 01:04:12.000
What does it mean?

01:04:12.000 --> 01:04:15.000
Well, it means it refers to something high quality,

01:04:15.000 --> 01:04:19.000
morally right, pleasant, suitable or beneficial.

01:04:19.000 --> 01:04:21.000
So when it says war, good warfare,

01:04:21.000 --> 01:04:24.000
I believe it's probably talking about morally right,

01:04:24.000 --> 01:04:27.000
but also those other things can apply to high quality,

01:04:27.000 --> 01:04:30.000
pleasant, suitable, beneficial to others.

01:04:30.000 --> 01:04:34.000
So war, good warfare, it fits all those categories.

01:04:34.000 --> 01:04:37.000
But I think that a lot of what it means is Paul is saying,

01:04:37.000 --> 01:04:41.000
hey, you know, do what's right when you're doing this warfare.

01:04:41.000 --> 01:04:44.000
It's not that you should just throw all caution to the wind

01:04:44.000 --> 01:04:48.000
because in war a lot of people just do dirty things that shouldn't be done

01:04:48.000 --> 01:04:50.000
and they'll do anything to win the war.

01:04:50.000 --> 01:04:52.000
But that's not how Christians should be.

01:04:52.000 --> 01:05:01.000
And so now warfare simply just means

01:05:01.000 --> 01:05:07.000
it's engaging in or conduct of armed conflict, war or fighting,

01:05:07.000 --> 01:05:11.000
encompassing the specific strategies, methods and weapons employed.

01:05:11.000 --> 01:05:15.000
It represents the active, often sustained struggle between nations or groups.

01:05:15.000 --> 01:05:21.000
Now, in our case, though, war, warfare is not a physical battle.

01:05:21.000 --> 01:05:23.000
Can warfare mean that?

01:05:23.000 --> 01:05:25.000
That's what the first thing you think of is actual warfare

01:05:25.000 --> 01:05:27.000
where people are shooting at each other

01:05:27.000 --> 01:05:30.000
or having some kind of a physical battle.

01:05:30.000 --> 01:05:32.000
But God does not, in the New Testament,

01:05:32.000 --> 01:05:35.000
he does not call us to do physical battles like this.

01:05:35.000 --> 01:05:37.000
He doesn't call us to beat people up.

01:05:37.000 --> 01:05:41.000
He doesn't call us to kill people or stone them or anything like that.

01:05:41.000 --> 01:05:43.000
That's not our job to do.

01:05:43.000 --> 01:05:46.000
And God is going to take care of those things for us.

01:05:46.000 --> 01:05:48.000
So we don't have to do those things.

01:05:48.000 --> 01:05:50.000
All we have to do is pray to him.

01:05:50.000 --> 01:05:53.000
And, you know, God can, you know, our prayers can move mountains.

01:05:53.000 --> 01:05:56.000
So obviously God can do a lot of things on our behalf,

01:05:56.000 --> 01:05:59.000
especially if we're warring a good warfare.

01:05:59.000 --> 01:06:01.000
You know, we're doing right.

01:06:01.000 --> 01:06:04.000
We're warring in the right kind of manner.

01:06:04.000 --> 01:06:10.000
So, of course, the war that we're in is a battle for the kingdom of God,

01:06:10.000 --> 01:06:13.000
a war for the lost souls of this earth,

01:06:13.000 --> 01:06:16.000
because really, you know, you have the saved people, which are few.

01:06:16.000 --> 01:06:20.000
I believe the reprobates are few, but increasing in number.

01:06:20.000 --> 01:06:22.000
And then there's the people in between.

01:06:22.000 --> 01:06:25.000
Those are the souls that we're trying to fight for.

01:06:25.000 --> 01:06:29.000
And so God left, Jesus left us here to do that work.

01:06:29.000 --> 01:06:31.000
That is the most important thing.

01:06:31.000 --> 01:06:33.000
He has many people saved as we can.

01:06:33.000 --> 01:06:38.000
And then, you know, God is using us here not only for that,

01:06:38.000 --> 01:06:42.000
but also to be a good witness as to what Christians should be like,

01:06:42.000 --> 01:06:45.000
what marriages should be like, how raising children should be.

01:06:45.000 --> 01:06:48.000
And, you know, people that follow the Bible actually believe the Bible.

01:06:48.000 --> 01:06:51.000
We're supposed to be an example, a light unto the world.

01:06:51.000 --> 01:06:54.000
You know, you can't hide a light under a bushel.

01:06:54.000 --> 01:06:56.000
You know, you've got to let that light shine.

01:06:56.000 --> 01:06:59.000
A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.

01:06:59.000 --> 01:07:04.000
So, you know, when we shine our lights, it should be a virtuous light,

01:07:04.000 --> 01:07:06.000
something that people look at and they go,

01:07:06.000 --> 01:07:08.000
when people at your work look at you, they should go,

01:07:08.000 --> 01:07:11.000
hey, that's a good worker, that's a good man.

01:07:11.000 --> 01:07:13.000
Hey, I don't like Christians, I don't like Christianity,

01:07:13.000 --> 01:07:15.000
but that guy, I like him.

01:07:15.000 --> 01:07:20.000
And so I think that we can fight the warfare in that sense.

01:07:21.000 --> 01:07:26.000
But our physical battle is not what God's called us to do.

01:07:26.000 --> 01:07:29.000
Look at 2 Corinthians chapter 10, 2 Corinthians chapter 10.

01:07:34.000 --> 01:07:36.000
2 Corinthians chapter 10.

01:07:36.000 --> 01:07:42.000
So the first kind of battle that we fight is the daily battle against our own flesh.

01:07:42.000 --> 01:07:46.000
So turn to 2 Corinthians 10.3, it says,

01:07:46.000 --> 01:07:52.000
So obviously, God is, this is what God's plan is to not war after the flesh.

01:07:52.000 --> 01:07:55.000
We walk in the flesh, we live our daily life in the flesh.

01:07:55.000 --> 01:07:57.000
It says,

01:08:07.000 --> 01:08:09.000
So they're not carnal.

01:08:09.000 --> 01:08:10.000
What is our weapon?

01:08:10.000 --> 01:08:12.000
It's the Word of God, right?

01:08:13.000 --> 01:08:17.000
And it's mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.

01:08:17.000 --> 01:08:20.000
And so that means that, you know, something, you know,

01:08:20.000 --> 01:08:25.000
there's some big walls and some big defenses against us,

01:08:25.000 --> 01:08:29.000
but that doesn't mean that we can't tear those things down.

01:08:29.000 --> 01:08:33.000
And in our own life, there might be strongholds in our lives

01:08:33.000 --> 01:08:37.000
that have a stronghold against us, some sin that is hard for us to defeat,

01:08:37.000 --> 01:08:41.000
but God's Word can do that also with the help of the Holy Spirit.

01:08:41.000 --> 01:08:43.000
We can defeat those things in our life.

01:08:43.000 --> 01:08:45.000
It says,

01:08:55.000 --> 01:08:59.000
So, I mean, even our very thoughts sometimes can betray who we really are

01:08:59.000 --> 01:09:02.000
because we're sinful, our flesh is sinful,

01:09:02.000 --> 01:09:07.000
and we're apt to do things that are contrary to what we actually believe.

01:09:07.000 --> 01:09:10.000
You know, some people will say, well, that person's not a Christian.

01:09:10.000 --> 01:09:12.000
They're a hypocrite. They did this.

01:09:12.000 --> 01:09:14.000
It's like, well, everybody is, though, to a certain extent.

01:09:14.000 --> 01:09:17.000
It just doesn't mean because you fail one day

01:09:17.000 --> 01:09:19.000
that you're a hypocrite for the rest of your life necessarily

01:09:19.000 --> 01:09:21.000
in a way that God looks at hypocrites.

01:09:21.000 --> 01:09:23.000
God looks at hypocrites.

01:09:23.000 --> 01:09:27.000
The true hypocrites of the Bible are going to hell, okay?

01:09:27.000 --> 01:09:30.000
They're pretending that they're saved, and they're really not.

01:09:30.000 --> 01:09:32.000
That's the difference, okay?

01:09:32.000 --> 01:09:33.000
Look at verse number six.

01:09:33.000 --> 01:09:34.000
It says,

01:09:41.000 --> 01:09:46.000
So part of the war within ourselves is against our own sinful nature as well.

01:09:46.000 --> 01:09:49.000
Turn to Galatians 5, Galatians chapter number five.

01:09:53.000 --> 01:09:56.000
Paul talks about this in the book of Galatians.

01:09:56.000 --> 01:09:59.000
He says, in verse number 16, it says,

01:10:03.000 --> 01:10:06.000
And these are contrary to one to the other,

01:10:06.000 --> 01:10:08.000
so that you cannot do the things that you would.

01:10:08.000 --> 01:10:13.000
So in our daily lives, we're constantly battling with the flesh that's within us.

01:10:13.000 --> 01:10:17.000
And the spirit, if you're walking in the spirit, is going to resist that.

01:10:17.000 --> 01:10:23.000
And there's just this war that's going on between the spiritual man and the carnal man.

01:10:23.000 --> 01:10:26.000
And it says, these things are against the spirit.

01:10:26.000 --> 01:10:29.000
And it says, these things are against the spirit.

01:10:29.000 --> 01:10:34.000
And it says, these things are opposite, you know, they're contrary one to the other.

01:10:34.000 --> 01:10:36.000
They don't like each other.

01:10:36.000 --> 01:10:38.000
The spirit, the flesh wants to do what it wants,

01:10:38.000 --> 01:10:43.000
and it gets mad basically when the spirit is in control.

01:10:43.000 --> 01:10:46.000
And so, you know, that's something that we have to fight against.

01:10:46.000 --> 01:10:47.000
It's a daily basis.

01:10:47.000 --> 01:10:52.000
The Bible says, Jesus said to take up your cross daily and follow after him.

01:10:52.000 --> 01:10:55.000
So it should be, it's a daily battle.

01:10:55.000 --> 01:10:57.000
That's why we have new mercies every day,

01:10:57.000 --> 01:11:01.000
because God knows that we screwed up something the day before.

01:11:01.000 --> 01:11:05.000
Obviously, he still loves us and still forgives us if we're saved, obviously.

01:11:05.000 --> 01:11:10.000
So it says, let's see, verse 18.

01:11:10.000 --> 01:11:13.000
But if you be led of the spirit, you're not under the law.

01:11:13.000 --> 01:11:17.000
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these,

01:11:17.000 --> 01:11:20.000
adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry,

01:11:20.000 --> 01:11:24.000
witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions,

01:11:24.000 --> 01:11:30.000
heresies, envies, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such alike,

01:11:30.000 --> 01:11:33.000
of the which I tell you before, as I have told you in time past,

01:11:33.000 --> 01:11:37.000
that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

01:11:37.000 --> 01:11:39.000
Now obviously the caveat to that is if you're saved,

01:11:39.000 --> 01:11:42.000
you're still going to inherit the kingdom of God.

01:11:42.000 --> 01:11:46.000
But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering,

01:11:46.000 --> 01:11:49.000
gentleness, goodness, and faith.

01:11:49.000 --> 01:11:51.000
And those are the fruits of the spirit, not your fruits,

01:11:51.000 --> 01:11:56.000
but the spirit manifesting itself in your life.

01:11:56.000 --> 01:12:02.000
Meekness, so the fruits of the spirit, love, joy, peace, long-suffering,

01:12:02.000 --> 01:12:05.000
gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.

01:12:05.000 --> 01:12:08.000
Against such, there is no law.

01:12:08.000 --> 01:12:13.000
And they that are Christ have crucified the flesh with the affections and the lust.

01:12:13.000 --> 01:12:18.000
And so we might actually, you know, but we do have to crucify that flesh

01:12:18.000 --> 01:12:21.000
and kill that old man on a daily basis.

01:12:21.000 --> 01:12:26.000
And, you know, the old man is, you know, it's called the old man,

01:12:26.000 --> 01:12:29.000
but like when I think of old man, I think of like a, you know, me maybe,

01:12:29.000 --> 01:12:31.000
or someone older than me.

01:12:31.000 --> 01:12:32.000
I'm not that old.

01:12:32.000 --> 01:12:35.000
But, you know, when you think of the word old man, though,

01:12:35.000 --> 01:12:37.000
you think of an older gentleman, right?

01:12:37.000 --> 01:12:41.000
But this is talking about the you that you used to be.

01:12:41.000 --> 01:12:44.000
But that old man can creep back into his self into your life.

01:12:44.000 --> 01:12:46.000
And it's, like I said, it's a war.

01:12:46.000 --> 01:12:51.000
It's a battle between you and your spirit and the flesh.

01:12:51.000 --> 01:12:56.000
And the new creature in you wants to do good and will do good

01:12:56.000 --> 01:13:00.000
and cannot sin, but the flesh will sin.

01:13:00.000 --> 01:13:04.000
And so if you don't walk in the spirit, you're going to lose that war.

01:13:04.000 --> 01:13:08.000
You're going to lose it every single time unless you're walking in the spirit.

01:13:08.000 --> 01:13:12.000
And, you know, obviously God forgives us for all time,

01:13:12.000 --> 01:13:13.000
for all the sins that we've committed.

01:13:13.000 --> 01:13:18.000
And ultimately, in the grand scheme of things, we are saved no matter what.

01:13:18.000 --> 01:13:22.000
But in this life, the better we behave ourselves,

01:13:22.000 --> 01:13:25.000
the better our life is going to be in this life.

01:13:25.000 --> 01:13:27.000
If we're constantly having to get beaten,

01:13:27.000 --> 01:13:30.000
it's just like a child that is always in trouble, you know,

01:13:30.000 --> 01:13:33.000
and the other ones might be a little bit better or whatever,

01:13:33.000 --> 01:13:35.000
don't get in trouble as much.

01:13:35.000 --> 01:13:37.000
One gets spanked more than the other because he's misbehaving more,

01:13:37.000 --> 01:13:39.000
and it's the same thing for Christians.

01:13:39.000 --> 01:13:42.000
Some Christians get, you know, beaten a lot.

01:13:42.000 --> 01:13:45.000
And some don't because some obey and some don't.

01:13:45.000 --> 01:13:48.000
It's just kind of really simple, but people,

01:13:48.000 --> 01:13:51.000
some people would say we don't even get punished anymore at all,

01:13:51.000 --> 01:13:56.000
which is crazy, but it's just heretical.

01:13:56.000 --> 01:14:01.000
So let's see, it says if we live in the spirit, verse 25,

01:14:01.000 --> 01:14:03.000
let us also walk in the spirit.

01:14:03.000 --> 01:14:09.000
Let us not be desirous of vain glory provoking one another, envying one another.

01:14:09.000 --> 01:14:10.000
And who's Paul talking to here?

01:14:10.000 --> 01:14:11.000
He's talking to Christians, right?

01:14:11.000 --> 01:14:14.000
So is it possible to provoke other Christians?

01:14:14.000 --> 01:14:15.000
It is.

01:14:15.000 --> 01:14:17.000
Is it possible to envy other Christians?

01:14:17.000 --> 01:14:18.000
It is.

01:14:18.000 --> 01:14:20.000
And it happens.

01:14:20.000 --> 01:14:22.000
And it ought not to happen, but it does.

01:14:22.000 --> 01:14:26.000
So there's also sometimes war with our fellow man.

01:14:26.000 --> 01:14:31.000
This should be something that we do as a last resort in general.

01:14:31.000 --> 01:14:34.000
Turn to Romans chapter 12, Romans chapter 12, verse 16.

01:14:34.000 --> 01:14:40.000
Romans chapter 12, verse 16.

01:14:40.000 --> 01:14:46.000
The Bible says, be of the same mind one toward another.

01:14:46.000 --> 01:14:52.000
Be not high, be not high, something cut off there.

01:14:52.000 --> 01:14:53.000
What does your Bible say?

01:14:53.000 --> 01:14:55.000
Oh, mind not high things.

01:14:55.000 --> 01:14:56.000
Mind not high things.

01:14:56.000 --> 01:14:57.000
Something's wrong with me.

01:14:57.000 --> 01:15:02.000
Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate.

01:15:02.000 --> 01:15:05.000
Be not wise in your own conceits.

01:15:05.000 --> 01:15:06.000
So what does it say?

01:15:06.000 --> 01:15:09.000
It's like, don't act like you're better than everybody.

01:15:09.000 --> 01:15:15.000
Don't act like you're above those in a lower status than you would consider yourself to be in.

01:15:15.000 --> 01:15:17.000
You know, we should get down on other people's level.

01:15:17.000 --> 01:15:21.000
That's what condescending to men of low estate means.

01:15:21.000 --> 01:15:26.000
And you know, in this world, not everybody is American and equal and all this other stuff.

01:15:26.000 --> 01:15:30.000
There's places like India where there's a caste system where you're stuck in that system forever.

01:15:30.000 --> 01:15:34.000
And there's nothing that you can do about it no matter whether you're a Christian or not.

01:15:34.000 --> 01:15:36.000
But they can't control your mind.

01:15:36.000 --> 01:15:37.000
They can't control your heart.

01:15:37.000 --> 01:15:39.000
They can't control your belief.

01:15:39.000 --> 01:15:46.000
But you know, we shouldn't go to some other country and act like they're not as good as us because they're not Americans or something.

01:15:46.000 --> 01:15:50.000
Or because they don't have all the creature comforts that we do.

01:15:50.000 --> 01:15:51.000
You know, how can you live like this?

01:15:51.000 --> 01:15:53.000
Well, some people have to live like that.

01:15:53.000 --> 01:15:55.000
Some people don't have any choice.

01:15:55.000 --> 01:16:01.000
So the Bible says we should condescend to men of low estate and be not wise in your own conceit.

01:16:01.000 --> 01:16:02.000
Have you ever heard that term?

01:16:02.000 --> 01:16:03.000
That person's conceited?

01:16:03.000 --> 01:16:05.000
Well, don't be like that.

01:16:05.000 --> 01:16:07.000
Don't be a conceited person.

01:16:07.000 --> 01:16:08.000
Help people.

01:16:08.000 --> 01:16:09.000
Love them.

01:16:09.000 --> 01:16:10.000
Befriend them.

01:16:10.000 --> 01:16:12.000
But don't act like you're better than them.

01:16:12.000 --> 01:16:15.000
And a lot of people kind of get this mentality as Christians.

01:16:15.000 --> 01:16:18.000
Sometimes you learn too much too fast.

01:16:18.000 --> 01:16:24.000
And this is a danger with Christianity because if you learn too much too fast, you have a tendency to get puffed up also.

01:16:24.000 --> 01:16:26.000
Because you have a lot of knowledge really fast.

01:16:26.000 --> 01:16:33.000
It's like if a baby just grew up and was the size of a five-year-old after drinking a couple bottles.

01:16:33.000 --> 01:16:36.000
I mean, that would be like a nightmare, wouldn't it?

01:16:36.000 --> 01:16:41.000
I mean, to have a baby's, a little infant newborn baby's mentality but a five-year-old body.

01:16:41.000 --> 01:16:43.000
I mean, just, wah!

01:16:43.000 --> 01:16:46.000
You know, it'd be crazy, right?

01:16:46.000 --> 01:16:49.000
But at least they'd sleep more.

01:16:49.000 --> 01:16:52.000
They'd actually take a nap at least, you know, maybe.

01:16:52.000 --> 01:16:55.000
But it just depends on what kind you got there.

01:16:55.000 --> 01:17:00.000
But, you know, we need to befriend people.

01:17:00.000 --> 01:17:02.000
We need to get down on our level.

01:17:02.000 --> 01:17:07.000
I'm not going to have you turn there, but the Bible says that there's a time to love and a time to hate.

01:17:07.000 --> 01:17:10.000
A time of war and a time of peace.

01:17:10.000 --> 01:17:14.000
And so are we always supposed to be at peace?

01:17:14.000 --> 01:17:16.000
No, we're not.

01:17:16.000 --> 01:17:18.000
Although we should seek it.

01:17:18.000 --> 01:17:20.000
We should seek peace in most situations.

01:17:20.000 --> 01:17:24.000
But we can't always be at peace, especially when we're in a war.

01:17:24.000 --> 01:17:27.000
How can you always be at peace when you're in a war?

01:17:27.000 --> 01:17:32.000
And some churches, they would act like if you're in a war ever that there's something wrong with you

01:17:32.000 --> 01:17:35.000
or something wrong with your pastor, and that's just not true.

01:17:35.000 --> 01:17:39.000
Sometimes we have to be in war and sometimes we have to be in battles.

01:17:39.000 --> 01:17:43.000
But, you know, it's not always peace.

01:17:43.000 --> 01:17:46.000
But also it shouldn't always be war.

01:17:47.000 --> 01:17:51.000
You know, there's not, it shouldn't be just continuously war 24-7.

01:17:51.000 --> 01:17:55.000
Like, you know, Fox News, this is how many people, you know, died in this war.

01:17:55.000 --> 01:18:00.000
They did that in the Gulf War to just put this number up there so you could just see just how bad it was.

01:18:00.000 --> 01:18:04.000
And I feel like they just kind of did that 24-hour news cycle

01:18:04.000 --> 01:18:07.000
and people were just like constantly reminded of all the death.

01:18:07.000 --> 01:18:12.000
And I think they were doing that on purpose, but we just, we don't,

01:18:12.000 --> 01:18:16.000
obviously if people have too much war, the people get weary of these things.

01:18:16.000 --> 01:18:19.000
And so we shouldn't be in a constant state of war.

01:18:19.000 --> 01:18:23.000
Obviously there's times when you're in a more of a warlike state

01:18:23.000 --> 01:18:27.000
and there's things that have to be fought against and battles that have to be fought.

01:18:27.000 --> 01:18:30.000
I get that, but it shouldn't always be the case.

01:18:30.000 --> 01:18:34.000
There should be some time of, you know, like, what was it?

01:18:34.000 --> 01:18:38.000
I think it was in World War II where the Germans and the Americans on Christmas

01:18:38.000 --> 01:18:42.000
just didn't fight each other or something for like Christmas Day or something.

01:18:42.000 --> 01:18:45.000
I don't know. I might be getting my facts wrong of what war was.

01:18:45.000 --> 01:18:48.000
Was it World War I? Yeah, okay. It was one of those wars.

01:18:48.000 --> 01:18:52.000
One of those World Wars. It was the one or two.

01:18:52.000 --> 01:18:58.000
But they did a ceasefire for one night so they could just celebrate Christmas.

01:18:58.000 --> 01:19:03.000
I mean, I'm sure there were some Germans that, you know, were just, they were fighting and not military.

01:19:03.000 --> 01:19:06.000
It was, they were born in that nation. That was just the way it was.

01:19:06.000 --> 01:19:09.000
And they wanted to celebrate Christmas too, just like everybody else did.

01:19:09.000 --> 01:19:13.000
I think that they sang hymns. I think that they might have read scripture. I don't know.

01:19:13.000 --> 01:19:16.000
But they just stopped fighting for one day.

01:19:16.000 --> 01:19:21.000
But the next day it's like, okay, game on. The next day they're fighting again.

01:19:21.000 --> 01:19:29.000
But I mean, there is times of, there should be some time where we're just not constantly just fighting and stuff like that.

01:19:29.000 --> 01:19:32.000
There's a time to love. There's a time to hate, you know.

01:19:32.000 --> 01:19:36.000
And people just are so unbalanced with stuff.

01:19:36.000 --> 01:19:40.000
They just think it's constantly a time to love or they think it's constantly a time to hate.

01:19:40.000 --> 01:19:45.000
You know, there has to be balance in here. There has to be balance in our Christian life.

01:19:45.000 --> 01:19:50.000
It can't always be a time of war and it can't always be a time of peace.

01:19:50.000 --> 01:19:53.000
There's got to be a balance there too. There is a time for war.

01:19:53.000 --> 01:19:56.000
There is a time for peace, but it's not all the time.

01:19:56.000 --> 01:19:59.000
So look at verse 17.

01:19:59.000 --> 01:20:05.000
Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of men.

01:20:05.000 --> 01:20:10.000
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

01:20:10.000 --> 01:20:15.000
So our goal is to what? Live peaceably with all men.

01:20:15.000 --> 01:20:21.000
So that kind of, it's like, well, war, good, warfare. How does that fit with living peaceably with all men?

01:20:21.000 --> 01:20:24.000
Well, you know, we're supposed to war good warfare.

01:20:24.000 --> 01:20:29.000
You know, we seek peace. But when we, you know, like David said, when I speak there for war,

01:20:29.000 --> 01:20:32.000
and sometimes you just can't help but get into a battle.

01:20:32.000 --> 01:20:36.000
Sometimes you have to, you know, your family member crosses a line.

01:20:36.000 --> 01:20:39.000
You know, they get over, they get past the barbed wire or whatever,

01:20:39.000 --> 01:20:41.000
and they get into your life and into your lane.

01:20:41.000 --> 01:20:45.000
They think that they can control your life and they think they control your kids.

01:20:45.000 --> 01:20:51.000
And it's like, no, you know, you need to stay over here and let me run my own home.

01:20:51.000 --> 01:20:55.000
So, you know, sometimes just people think that they can just cross, you know,

01:20:55.000 --> 01:20:57.000
we have to set up boundaries in our life.

01:20:57.000 --> 01:21:03.000
And sometimes we have to set up barbed wire, you know, just keep people away from us in that way.

01:21:03.000 --> 01:21:05.000
And sometimes that causes war.

01:21:05.000 --> 01:21:08.000
You know, when you stop letting someone control you from the outside

01:21:08.000 --> 01:21:13.000
and stop caring about what people think, and you're just living out your Christianity,

01:21:13.000 --> 01:21:17.000
like the Bible says, you're going to have family members to turn against you.

01:21:17.000 --> 01:21:20.000
You're going to have friends that turn against you and don't want to hang out with you anymore

01:21:20.000 --> 01:21:22.000
because they think that you're weird or whatever.

01:21:22.000 --> 01:21:24.000
It's like, well, maybe you're weird.

01:21:24.000 --> 01:21:28.000
Maybe you just not caring about the things of God or not caring about God at all,

01:21:28.000 --> 01:21:29.000
and you're not even saved.

01:21:29.000 --> 01:21:32.000
You know, maybe you just need to get saved, you know.

01:21:32.000 --> 01:21:35.000
But obviously we don't want to just fight with people for no reason.

01:21:35.000 --> 01:21:39.000
We don't want to just make enemies with our family members for no reason.

01:21:39.000 --> 01:21:41.000
If you can get along with them, do.

01:21:41.000 --> 01:21:45.000
But obviously don't compromise your faith over that.

01:21:45.000 --> 01:21:48.000
So it says, live peaceably with all men.

01:21:48.000 --> 01:21:49.000
That includes the world.

01:21:49.000 --> 01:21:52.000
You know, you don't want to go to work and have everybody hate you

01:21:52.000 --> 01:21:58.000
just because you're being obnoxious and just always bringing up stuff to fight with people about.

01:21:58.000 --> 01:22:03.000
It says, dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place under wrath.

01:22:03.000 --> 01:22:05.000
For it is written, vengeance is mine.

01:22:05.000 --> 01:22:07.000
I will repay, saith the Lord.

01:22:07.000 --> 01:22:10.000
So and here's the other thing is when someone does evil unto us,

01:22:10.000 --> 01:22:16.000
we don't have to pay them back because God already says he's going to do it.

01:22:16.000 --> 01:22:20.000
You know, and so when we take vengeance into our own hands,

01:22:20.000 --> 01:22:25.000
if we revenge ourselves or avenge ourselves for things that people do to us,

01:22:25.000 --> 01:22:29.000
then that's going to stop God from doing it because he's like, well, I mean,

01:22:29.000 --> 01:22:32.000
I already told them the vengeance is mine.

01:22:32.000 --> 01:22:34.000
I already told them I'll repay.

01:22:34.000 --> 01:22:36.000
And obviously they don't believe me.

01:22:36.000 --> 01:22:37.000
They're doing it themselves.

01:22:37.000 --> 01:22:39.000
They want to revenge people themselves.

01:22:39.000 --> 01:22:42.000
And that's not the way it's supposed to be done.

01:22:42.000 --> 01:22:45.000
He's supposed we're supposed to allow God to do that for us.

01:22:45.000 --> 01:22:48.000
Says, therefore, if I find enemy hunger, feed him.

01:22:48.000 --> 01:22:51.000
If he thirsts, give him to drink, give him drink.

01:22:51.000 --> 01:22:56.000
For in so doing, thou shall heap coals of fire on his head.

01:22:56.000 --> 01:23:01.000
It says, be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

01:23:01.000 --> 01:23:05.000
So isn't overcoming evil with good, isn't that warring a good warfare?

01:23:05.000 --> 01:23:06.000
Yeah.

01:23:06.000 --> 01:23:12.000
Yeah. So isn't seeking peace when you can seeking, isn't that warring a good warfare?

01:23:12.000 --> 01:23:17.000
Yeah, because I mean, God doesn't necessarily want us to fight with everybody all the time.

01:23:17.000 --> 01:23:24.000
So and again, there's times when this church here has been being raged against by the sodomites, you know,

01:23:24.000 --> 01:23:26.000
and that's definitely a time of war.

01:23:26.000 --> 01:23:34.000
But you guys aren't inviting them in to the air conditioning and giving them sandwiches and stuff to drink because they're filthy beasts.

01:23:34.000 --> 01:23:37.000
You don't want them in church or under your children.

01:23:37.000 --> 01:23:46.000
We've had someone sneak into this church and try to pretend like they even got saved and then made a bunch of wicked videos and stuff.

01:23:46.000 --> 01:23:50.000
And, you know, we were friendly to that person.

01:23:50.000 --> 01:23:52.000
We were you guys were nice to that person.

01:23:52.000 --> 01:23:53.000
I know you were.

01:23:53.000 --> 01:23:59.000
And they were like they know the person thought that you guys suspected them and they just got afraid and didn't come back or whatever.

01:23:59.000 --> 01:24:06.000
But they made it seem like, well, if you caught them, that you were going to kill them or something or beat them up or whatever.

01:24:06.000 --> 01:24:11.000
And it's just like, no, you probably were just told to get out, get out freak.

01:24:11.000 --> 01:24:16.000
But, you know, these people, they act like they just people are like, oh, you're so great.

01:24:16.000 --> 01:24:17.000
You're not brave.

01:24:17.000 --> 01:24:18.000
You're a coward.

01:24:18.000 --> 01:24:24.000
If you're a brave, you'd actually walk in what you always look like instead of just taking off your makeup or whatever.

01:24:24.000 --> 01:24:28.000
And, you know, obviously they had like a man bun or whatever.

01:24:28.000 --> 01:24:30.000
And that was the first indicator that they might be weird.

01:24:30.000 --> 01:24:33.000
I mean, I got a couple of phone calls.

01:24:33.000 --> 01:24:37.000
I got a couple calls and a couple like, hey, this person might be weird.

01:24:37.000 --> 01:24:39.000
And but we're all kind of in agreement.

01:24:39.000 --> 01:24:41.000
Well, we got to give people the benefit of doubt.

01:24:41.000 --> 01:24:44.000
You know, sometimes people cut the man bun off and become normal.

01:24:44.000 --> 01:24:49.000
But, you know, man bun is kind of a big hint that there might be some sugar in the tank.

01:24:49.000 --> 01:24:52.000
It might be a little bit light in the loafers or something.

01:24:52.000 --> 01:24:53.000
Right.

01:24:53.000 --> 01:24:59.000
So obviously there's a time for war and there's a time for peace, a time for love and time for hate.

01:24:59.000 --> 01:25:02.000
Hey, and you know, you did love that person.

01:25:02.000 --> 01:25:06.000
You know, for all you knew that person, you tried to give that person the benefit of the doubt.

01:25:06.000 --> 01:25:14.000
You know, I'm dehumanizing them by saying that they're I think that they're a beast, but not a person at all.

01:25:14.000 --> 01:25:15.000
Dehumanize them all I want.

01:25:15.000 --> 01:25:18.000
But sorry if I get your channel nuked around.

01:25:18.000 --> 01:25:20.000
But I mean, that's just the way it is.

01:25:20.000 --> 01:25:22.000
You know, those are the types of people that we are at war with.

01:25:22.000 --> 01:25:26.000
Those are the types of people we should never help and comfort ever.

01:25:26.000 --> 01:25:34.000
And, you know, generally unsafe people are, you know, the enemies that are in context here in this passage.

01:25:34.000 --> 01:25:37.000
But also, safe people can be your enemies.

01:25:37.000 --> 01:25:38.000
Should they be?

01:25:38.000 --> 01:25:39.000
No.

01:25:39.000 --> 01:25:45.000
I think it's bizarre when safe people act like Saul did back in the Old Testament.

01:25:45.000 --> 01:25:50.000
I mean, to me, it's just hard for me to think that someone would be like that.

01:25:50.000 --> 01:25:53.000
But it is possible, very possible.

01:25:53.000 --> 01:25:59.000
And because we've seen, you know, it's in the Bible for us to be admonished and for us to know that these people exist.

01:25:59.000 --> 01:26:01.000
People like this exist.

01:26:01.000 --> 01:26:02.000
People that envy.

01:26:02.000 --> 01:26:04.000
I mean, think about David.

01:26:04.000 --> 01:26:10.000
He came and killed Goliath the Philistine with one shot, chopped his head off and brought it to Saul.

01:26:10.000 --> 01:26:15.000
And then all that happened was some stupid women were singing a song that he didn't like.

01:26:15.000 --> 01:26:17.000
And then he blames David for that.

01:26:17.000 --> 01:26:22.000
It's like Saul has slain his thousands and David has slain his ten thousands.

01:26:22.000 --> 01:26:24.000
And then Saul didn't like that.

01:26:24.000 --> 01:26:29.000
So, oh, he's only attributing me thousands and he's attributing David ten thousands.

01:26:29.000 --> 01:26:33.000
It's like then he eyed David from that day forward.

01:26:33.000 --> 01:26:35.000
It's like some Christians can be like that.

01:26:35.000 --> 01:26:37.000
You know, they have some sort of envy problem.

01:26:37.000 --> 01:26:42.000
That's, I mean, he knew that he was already, the kingdom was already taken from him.

01:26:42.000 --> 01:26:46.000
Samuel had already rejected, said that he was rejected.

01:26:46.000 --> 01:26:49.000
So at least I think so.

01:26:49.000 --> 01:26:53.000
But anyway, I might be getting my timelines mixed up a little bit there.

01:26:53.000 --> 01:26:57.000
But regardless, he was not acting like a Christian should act.

01:26:57.000 --> 01:27:01.000
I mean, killing the Lord's priest just because David grabbed the sword of Goliath.

01:27:01.000 --> 01:27:04.000
You know, he's like, oh, you're aiding the enemy.

01:27:04.000 --> 01:27:06.000
It's like, no, we didn't even know.

01:27:06.000 --> 01:27:07.000
David didn't tell us.

01:27:07.000 --> 01:27:10.000
You know, he didn't tell us that that was what was going on.

01:27:10.000 --> 01:27:17.000
So, you know, Christians should not be our enemies, but they can be absolutely 100 percent.

01:27:17.000 --> 01:27:19.000
And there are tons of examples of this.

01:27:19.000 --> 01:27:22.000
David and Saul are like probably the best examples of this.

01:27:22.000 --> 01:27:27.000
But even the dynamics of David's kingdom saved people fought against each other.

01:27:27.000 --> 01:27:31.000
I believe Abner was probably saved, but Joab killed him.

01:27:31.000 --> 01:27:32.000
He murdered him.

01:27:32.000 --> 01:27:34.000
But I also believe that Joab was saved.

01:27:34.000 --> 01:27:39.000
I mean, people might disagree with me on that, but there's times when he showed Christian character.

01:27:39.000 --> 01:27:43.000
There's times when he had mercy on people when he could have slaughtered the whole town,

01:27:43.000 --> 01:27:48.000
like when Sheba, the son of Bicri, you know, ran and fled to that town.

01:27:48.000 --> 01:27:51.000
And, you know, the old woman starts bartering back and forth with them.

01:27:51.000 --> 01:27:55.000
And he's like, I don't want to, you know, destroy this town or whatever.

01:27:55.000 --> 01:28:00.000
And so she threw, he just said, throw me the head of Sheba, the son of Bicri.

01:28:00.000 --> 01:28:03.000
It comes, you know, over the top of the wall or whatever.

01:28:03.000 --> 01:28:04.000
And then he left them alone.

01:28:04.000 --> 01:28:06.000
Like, Joab didn't have to do that.

01:28:06.000 --> 01:28:07.000
He did it.

01:28:07.000 --> 01:28:11.000
Joab also reproved David over him counting up all the people.

01:28:11.000 --> 01:28:12.000
And he, because he knew it was wrong.

01:28:12.000 --> 01:28:18.000
And that's why he didn't even fully count them all and went back because he was despised David's commandment

01:28:18.000 --> 01:28:20.000
because David's commandment was wrong.

01:28:20.000 --> 01:28:22.000
Why would he care if he wasn't saved?

01:28:22.000 --> 01:28:27.000
Why would he just, you know, I mean, but obviously Joab was very wicked also as a Christian.

01:28:27.000 --> 01:28:34.000
You know, he killed, he killed, he murdered a couple of people that took his position.

01:28:34.000 --> 01:28:37.000
So it was kind of all about his position and his clout.

01:28:37.000 --> 01:28:39.000
He wasn't even one of the mighty men.

01:28:39.000 --> 01:28:42.000
You look at the list of the mighty men and Joab was not on it.

01:28:42.000 --> 01:28:43.000
But how many people did he kill?

01:28:43.000 --> 01:28:45.000
How many battles did he win?

01:28:45.000 --> 01:28:46.000
He won a lot of battles.

01:28:46.000 --> 01:28:49.000
And God obviously was with him in some capacity.

01:28:49.000 --> 01:28:51.000
But eventually he turned against David.

01:28:51.000 --> 01:28:55.000
And he went after the wrong son to try to make him the king.

01:28:55.000 --> 01:28:56.000
And then he got killed for it.

01:28:56.000 --> 01:29:02.000
So, and David said, hey, Solomon, make sure that his hoary head doesn't go down to the grave without blood.

01:29:02.000 --> 01:29:06.000
So, I mean, Christians can be pretty nasty people.

01:29:06.000 --> 01:29:08.000
And sometimes you'll be like, well, I can't believe they would do that.

01:29:08.000 --> 01:29:09.000
That person must be a reprobate.

01:29:09.000 --> 01:29:10.000
Not necessarily.

01:29:10.000 --> 01:29:14.000
Not necessarily because Saul, you know, killed himself.

01:29:14.000 --> 01:29:21.000
And after trying to kill David all those years, after killing the Lord's priest, after, you know, multiple times,

01:29:21.000 --> 01:29:26.000
just doing all the, you know, not obeying the Lord, not killing Agag, you know,

01:29:26.000 --> 01:29:33.000
having to have Samuel, some old man that's basically retired come and have to chop him up instead.

01:29:33.000 --> 01:29:36.000
So Saul was just a bad leader.

01:29:36.000 --> 01:29:40.000
And because of that, he was always, you know, he just didn't have a lot of confidence.

01:29:40.000 --> 01:29:43.000
And then he feared that David would take his position.

01:29:43.000 --> 01:29:44.000
And David did.

01:29:44.000 --> 01:29:47.000
But it's because David did that, which is right.

01:29:47.000 --> 01:29:50.000
You know, the Bible says that Saul eyed him from that day forward.

01:29:50.000 --> 01:29:57.000
But the Bible says that David, you know, he behaved himself wisely, the Bible says.

01:29:57.000 --> 01:29:59.000
David behaved himself wisely.

01:29:59.000 --> 01:30:06.000
And so even though Saul had an evil eye towards him, David wasn't just trying to go around and get people to campaign against him.

01:30:06.000 --> 01:30:10.000
And, you know, hey, Saul tried to kill me through javelin at me the other night.

01:30:10.000 --> 01:30:12.000
We needed to post him as the king and overturn him.

01:30:12.000 --> 01:30:14.000
That's not how David's attitude was.

01:30:14.000 --> 01:30:16.000
David did not do that.

01:30:16.000 --> 01:30:22.000
So, I mean, David wore to good warfare when it came to warring against another Christian.

01:30:22.000 --> 01:30:25.000
See, there's different ways that we wore against different people.

01:30:25.000 --> 01:30:30.000
And when it comes to other Christians, you know, sometimes you just have to let God win that battle for you.

01:30:30.000 --> 01:30:37.000
And we shouldn't just full on launch attacks against saved people unless they're doing something that's really wicked.

01:30:37.000 --> 01:30:39.000
You know, of course you have to call out sin.

01:30:39.000 --> 01:30:40.000
I understand that.

01:30:40.000 --> 01:30:46.000
I'm not I'm just saying that when you're just plotting against people because you're envious or something, that's that is wicked.

01:30:46.000 --> 01:30:48.000
It shouldn't be happening.

01:30:48.000 --> 01:30:52.000
So and of course, there's the great war against God.

01:30:52.000 --> 01:30:54.000
And we're all on his side.

01:30:54.000 --> 01:30:55.000
Amen.

01:30:55.000 --> 01:30:59.000
So there's, you know, this great war that we're fighting.

01:30:59.000 --> 01:31:04.000
And in Psalm one, I'll have you turn to see turn to a feature.

01:31:04.000 --> 01:31:08.000
Chapter six, I'm going to read Psalm one twenty six and seven.

01:31:08.000 --> 01:31:14.000
Psalm one twenty six and seven says, My soul hath long dwelt with them that hated peace.

01:31:14.000 --> 01:31:15.000
I am for peace.

01:31:15.000 --> 01:31:18.000
But when I speak, they are for war.

01:31:18.000 --> 01:31:23.000
So David had he had people around him that's that hated him.

01:31:23.000 --> 01:31:31.000
And then every once in a while, someone would try to puff up against him and he would go and destroy him, demolish him like the Syrians and stuff like that.

01:31:31.000 --> 01:31:35.000
And then he would be subjugated around him.

01:31:35.000 --> 01:31:39.000
But he said, My soul is long dwell with them that hated peace.

01:31:39.000 --> 01:31:42.000
You know, he's been around people that hate him for a long time.

01:31:42.000 --> 01:31:45.000
And sometimes we just have to be around people that hate us.

01:31:45.000 --> 01:31:51.000
And we know that someone might not like us very much, but it doesn't mean that we have to always act on these things.

01:31:51.000 --> 01:31:52.000
And it says, I'm for peace.

01:31:52.000 --> 01:31:54.000
But when I speak, they're for war.

01:31:54.000 --> 01:32:00.000
Sometimes the things that we preach, the things that we say, that's enough to get someone to go to war with us.

01:32:00.000 --> 01:32:03.000
And so we have to make sure that our words are right.

01:32:03.000 --> 01:32:05.000
Our words are true.

01:32:05.000 --> 01:32:12.000
And, you know, obviously, we don't want to have people get mad at us for things that we're saying that aren't true.

01:32:12.000 --> 01:32:18.000
But if people get mad, if the world gets mad because we don't like the sodomites, then so what?

01:32:18.000 --> 01:32:30.000
If, you know, the if our family members get mad because we believe in not using birth control or whatever that they find to pick it up because we spank our children, that's usually the big thing.

01:32:30.000 --> 01:32:37.000
It's like they spanked us, but then act like it's a stinking crime to spank your own kid.

01:32:37.000 --> 01:32:39.000
Call you a child abuser or something.

01:32:39.000 --> 01:32:42.000
It's like, do you remember what you hit me with?

01:32:42.000 --> 01:32:44.000
Do you remember how many times you hit me?

01:32:44.000 --> 01:32:48.000
It's like, man, how soon they forget.

01:32:48.000 --> 01:32:54.000
So, yeah, I mean, anyway, so let's look at Ephesians 6 10.

01:32:54.000 --> 01:32:58.000
It says, Finally, my brother, be strong in the Lord and the power of his might.

01:32:58.000 --> 01:33:00.000
How do we win the battles?

01:33:00.000 --> 01:33:08.000
Well, we got to be strong in the Lord and the power of his might, not our own strength, not our own might, but in the Lord's power, in the Lord's might.

01:33:08.000 --> 01:33:13.000
Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

01:33:13.000 --> 01:33:14.000
See the wiles of the devil.

01:33:14.000 --> 01:33:17.000
This, you know, Satan is at war with us.

01:33:17.000 --> 01:33:19.000
And look, he's organized.

01:33:19.000 --> 01:33:23.000
He's the general of the army and he's organized.

01:33:23.000 --> 01:33:31.000
He's got high devils at high levels and he's got scum balls in the right places that that hate Christians.

01:33:31.000 --> 01:33:34.000
And because you'll be like, well, how's this person?

01:33:34.000 --> 01:33:45.000
How's this how's this Christian being railroaded for the you know, and you know, they're being put in jail or they're losing these legal battles because there's the devil has people in high places.

01:33:45.000 --> 01:33:47.000
It's just real simple.

01:33:47.000 --> 01:33:51.000
You know, why are the police messing with those people but not messing with those people?

01:33:51.000 --> 01:33:55.000
And it's just like a lot of times, even at work, why is he not promoting?

01:33:55.000 --> 01:33:56.000
Why are they not promoting this person?

01:33:56.000 --> 01:34:00.000
Well, because there's a fag at the top that doesn't like you because they know you're a Christian.

01:34:00.000 --> 01:34:02.000
I mean, these things happen.

01:34:02.000 --> 01:34:08.000
And as we go further and further and closer and closer towards the end times, it's going to get worse and worse.

01:34:08.000 --> 01:34:11.000
The Bible says that it's going to wax worse and worse.

01:34:11.000 --> 01:34:14.000
Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse.

01:34:14.000 --> 01:34:29.000
So it says that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

01:34:29.000 --> 01:34:31.000
So this is our battle.

01:34:31.000 --> 01:34:34.000
This is the battle, the spiritual battle that we fight.

01:34:34.000 --> 01:34:37.000
It's not against flesh and blood.

01:34:37.000 --> 01:34:44.000
Flesh and blood might be carrying it out against us, but that's not who the real power is that's doing this to us.

01:34:44.000 --> 01:34:46.000
It's the principalities.

01:34:46.000 --> 01:34:47.000
It's the powers.

01:34:47.000 --> 01:34:49.000
It's the rulers of the darkness of this world.

01:34:49.000 --> 01:34:52.000
It's the spiritual wickedness in high places.

01:34:52.000 --> 01:34:55.000
And so, like I said, the devil is very organized.

01:34:55.000 --> 01:34:58.000
His army is organized, and sometimes ours isn't as much.

01:34:58.000 --> 01:34:59.000
Unfortunately.

01:34:59.000 --> 01:35:07.000
But God still has, you know, God still has his will fulfilled regardless of whether we're organized or not.

01:35:07.000 --> 01:35:15.000
As long as we're, you know, doing what's right in his eyes, as long as we're completing the missions, you know, we're in his army.

01:35:15.000 --> 01:35:18.000
You know, sometimes the mission is soul-winning.

01:35:18.000 --> 01:35:20.000
The mission is hard preaching.

01:35:20.000 --> 01:35:22.000
The mission is King James only.

01:35:22.000 --> 01:35:28.000
I mean, we have lots of missions, you know, things that we go by, things that are just not negotiable.

01:35:28.000 --> 01:35:31.000
And as long as we're doing those things, then God's going to bless us.

01:35:31.000 --> 01:35:33.000
We can be lacking in some areas.

01:35:33.000 --> 01:35:41.000
We could have weak, you know, because in the military, you know, I remember working with this guy, and he was in the reserves.

01:35:41.000 --> 01:35:45.000
And he said, there's this guy that's always getting us in trouble.

01:35:45.000 --> 01:35:49.000
It's kind of like Private Pile or something.

01:35:49.000 --> 01:35:51.000
He's like, he's like always getting them in trouble.

01:35:51.000 --> 01:35:52.000
He's always screwing up stuff.

01:35:52.000 --> 01:35:56.000
And he was like, I'm going to we're going to frag him when we get when we get over there.

01:35:56.000 --> 01:35:59.000
And what that means is that they're going to find some way to kill him.

01:35:59.000 --> 01:36:03.000
And I was just that really I was like, what are you talking about, dude?

01:36:03.000 --> 01:36:05.000
Like, you can't be telling me this stuff.

01:36:05.000 --> 01:36:07.000
I'm going to have to, you know, report this.

01:36:07.000 --> 01:36:14.000
And then, you know, he's he I just like gave him big, long speech and just, you know, tried to talk him out of it.

01:36:14.000 --> 01:36:15.000
And so I did.

01:36:15.000 --> 01:36:20.000
And when he came back, like he came back from the war, I said, did you guys do that?

01:36:20.000 --> 01:36:21.000
And he said, no, we didn't.

01:36:21.000 --> 01:36:30.000
So hopefully it wasn't lying to me because, man, that was like, don't tell that to someone that you just work with and just expect them not to freak out about it.

01:36:30.000 --> 01:36:40.000
I was freaking out because, you know, sometimes things happen and friendly fire happens, but we shouldn't be firing against our own people.

01:36:40.000 --> 01:36:44.000
You know, so it says stand there for having.

01:36:44.000 --> 01:36:45.000
Let's see. No, I'm sorry.

01:36:45.000 --> 01:36:46.000
We're not there yet.

01:36:46.000 --> 01:36:47.000
Let's look at verse 12.

01:36:47.000 --> 01:36:57.000
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

01:36:57.000 --> 01:37:05.000
Therefore, take unto you the whole armor of God that you may be able to stay in the evil day and having done all to stand.

01:37:05.000 --> 01:37:08.000
So our our job is to stand with our armor on.

01:37:08.000 --> 01:37:10.000
And sometimes that's all we can do.

01:37:10.000 --> 01:37:12.000
That is basically all we can do.

01:37:12.000 --> 01:37:16.000
And that God will protect us as long as we have that spiritual armor on us.

01:37:16.000 --> 01:37:18.000
These aren't things that you can actually put on.

01:37:18.000 --> 01:37:22.000
These are things you can, you know, you can order off of Amazon.

01:37:22.000 --> 01:37:27.000
You know, you can't order, you know, the the shield of faith on Amazon dot com.

01:37:27.000 --> 01:37:33.000
Unfortunately, it's just that these are spiritual weapons that we have and we're supposed to put these on.

01:37:34.000 --> 01:37:44.000
This is therefore a stand therefore having your loins gird about with truth and having on the breastplate of righteousness and your feet shot with the preparation of the gospel.

01:37:44.000 --> 01:37:46.000
He says, well, a lot of people are lacking.

01:37:46.000 --> 01:37:49.000
They have everything else, but, oh, they don't go soul winning.

01:37:49.000 --> 01:37:50.000
So you don't have your armor on.

01:37:50.000 --> 01:37:53.000
It's funny how they never preach that part.

01:37:53.000 --> 01:38:00.000
Above all, taking the shield of faith wherewith we shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

01:38:00.000 --> 01:38:02.000
You know, faith is is what moves us.

01:38:02.000 --> 01:38:04.000
That faith is what saves us.

01:38:04.000 --> 01:38:06.000
What we believe is what saves us.

01:38:06.000 --> 01:38:10.000
And faith will help us to pray to our Lord so that he helps us in the time of need.

01:38:10.000 --> 01:38:11.000
Right.

01:38:11.000 --> 01:38:17.000
And so it says, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit.

01:38:17.000 --> 01:38:24.000
See, don't forget to pray because that's one of our greatest weapons, because God is our heavenly father.

01:38:24.000 --> 01:38:28.000
You know, and when you ask your heavenly father for stuff in faith, he's going to grant it to you.

01:38:28.000 --> 01:38:40.000
So when people are messing with you and people are messing around and causing problems in your life, you know, instead of just trying to get revenge on them, go to God and let God take care of business.

01:38:40.000 --> 01:38:42.000
And obviously, you know, everybody's a sinner.

01:38:42.000 --> 01:38:44.000
We should think about those things.

01:38:44.000 --> 01:38:52.000
You know, do we want that person judges harshly because maybe God will judge us harshly for some things, too.

01:38:52.000 --> 01:38:53.000
So we do have to be forgiving.

01:38:53.000 --> 01:38:55.000
Don't forget to be forgiving to people.

01:38:55.000 --> 01:38:57.000
You know, our warfare is different.

01:38:57.000 --> 01:38:59.000
It's a good warfare.

01:38:59.000 --> 01:39:01.000
We have to war a good warfare.

01:39:01.000 --> 01:39:02.000
We can't be like the world.

01:39:02.000 --> 01:39:04.000
We can't be like the reprobates.

01:39:04.000 --> 01:39:06.000
We have to be godly.

01:39:06.000 --> 01:39:15.000
Now, when we fight the warfare in our own bodies, you know, the Holy Spirit and walking in the spirit is what's going to help us in that situation.

01:39:15.000 --> 01:39:31.000
So it says, And for me, watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints, for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly and make known the mystery of the gospel.

01:39:31.000 --> 01:39:35.000
So ultimately, Paul and you know, you think, well, why does he need to pray for boldness?

01:39:35.000 --> 01:39:38.000
Well, every town he walks into, people are trying to kill him.

01:39:38.000 --> 01:39:39.000
The Jews are already there.

01:39:39.000 --> 01:39:44.000
The Jews are like beating into the place where they've already heard of him and they're already starting trouble.

01:39:44.000 --> 01:39:45.000
And they're trying to kill him.

01:39:45.000 --> 01:39:49.000
And they've actually tried to kill him multiple times.

01:39:49.000 --> 01:39:50.000
They're beating him.

01:39:50.000 --> 01:39:55.000
They're throwing, you know, stoning him seemingly to death.

01:39:55.000 --> 01:39:59.000
And, you know, I mean, of course you would need boldness.

01:39:59.000 --> 01:40:02.000
We don't have we don't feel that way necessarily when we knock on doors.

01:40:02.000 --> 01:40:04.000
We don't feel like we could die at every door.

01:40:04.000 --> 01:40:06.000
Now, is it possible?

01:40:06.000 --> 01:40:07.000
Yeah, it is possible.

01:40:07.000 --> 01:40:09.000
But is it likely?

01:40:09.000 --> 01:40:10.000
Not no, not yet.

01:40:10.000 --> 01:40:13.000
Not at this time in our in our history.

01:40:13.000 --> 01:40:15.000
I don't think it is, but it's possible.

01:40:15.000 --> 01:40:21.000
So but says, for which I'm an ambassador in bonds that there and I may speak boldly as I ought to speak.

01:40:21.000 --> 01:40:27.000
So we do need some boldness and boldness is what it takes to fight a war.

01:40:27.000 --> 01:40:30.000
You can't have a bunch of cowards that are afraid to fight in the war.

01:40:30.000 --> 01:40:33.000
And so sometimes we need a little boost.

01:40:33.000 --> 01:40:34.000
We need to pray.

01:40:34.000 --> 01:40:36.000
We need to pray for other people.

01:40:36.000 --> 01:40:39.000
We need to remember to pray for other people when they're having a hard time.

01:40:39.000 --> 01:40:43.000
And, you know, obviously that they would that other people would speak boldly.

01:40:43.000 --> 01:40:45.000
You know, we need to pray for soul winners and more soul winners.

01:40:45.000 --> 01:40:46.000
Amen.

01:40:46.000 --> 01:40:55.000
But we also need to pray that those soul winners speak boldly, you know, no matter how quiet you are, no matter how reserved you are, when you get to the door, that all goes out the window.

01:40:55.000 --> 01:40:57.000
You turn into another person.

01:40:57.000 --> 01:41:01.000
You turn into, you know, a bold apostle Paul style preacher.

01:41:01.000 --> 01:41:05.000
Proverbs, chapter three, turn to Proverbs, chapter three.

01:41:06.000 --> 01:41:13.000
See, and a lot of times when we're in battles, we don't really necessarily think first.

01:41:13.000 --> 01:41:15.000
Hey, Lord, help me.

01:41:15.000 --> 01:41:17.000
Now, if we're about to die, that's different.

01:41:17.000 --> 01:41:21.000
A lot or there's some huge thing going on in our life.

01:41:21.000 --> 01:41:22.000
That's probably different.

01:41:22.000 --> 01:41:26.000
But we don't probably always in every situation think of the Lord first.

01:41:26.000 --> 01:41:28.000
And that's probably not the way we should think.

01:41:29.000 --> 01:41:35.000
So when we're in war, when we're fighting a good warfare, we need to remember these verses because they're great verses.

01:41:35.000 --> 01:41:44.000
Verse five says, trust in the Lord with all of my heart and lean not unto thine own understanding in all my ways, acknowledge him and he shall direct I pass.

01:41:44.000 --> 01:41:50.000
Be not wise and I know and I know nice fear the Lord and depart from evil.

01:41:50.000 --> 01:41:54.000
It shall be health to thy navel and marrow to thy bones.

01:41:55.000 --> 01:42:04.000
So if we have this attitude in life where we're not leaning to our own understanding or acknowledging him and direct and he's directing our paths,

01:42:04.000 --> 01:42:07.000
then he's going to lead us in the way that we should go.

01:42:07.000 --> 01:42:11.000
And don't be wise in your own eyes, but fear the Lord and depart from evil.

01:42:11.000 --> 01:42:14.000
So that's going to put us on a great path every single day.

01:42:14.000 --> 01:42:22.000
The first thing you think of is the Lord every morning and acknowledging him and praying to him and reading your Bible.

01:42:22.000 --> 01:42:27.000
You know, you're going to be starting off on a good foot every day.

01:42:27.000 --> 01:42:31.000
So now on decorum, what is decorum?

01:42:31.000 --> 01:42:41.000
Decorum refers to behavior that is correct, polite, dignified and in accordance with accepted social standards and formal requirements.

01:42:41.000 --> 01:42:46.000
It entails keeping with good taste and propriety and manners, speech and appearance,

01:42:46.000 --> 01:42:54.000
often crucial for maintaining order and respect such as during courtroom proceedings or in professional polite society.

01:42:54.000 --> 01:42:59.000
And decorum is something that people lack today.

01:42:59.000 --> 01:43:03.000
They lack these things, even like the presidency.

01:43:03.000 --> 01:43:06.000
Our presidency is kind of it lacks decorum.

01:43:06.000 --> 01:43:12.000
I've never in my life seen presidents speak the way that our presidents speak.

01:43:12.000 --> 01:43:17.000
And but one thing that I mean, if you watched like the State of the Union address,

01:43:17.000 --> 01:43:26.000
I just thought it was funny because he did kind of put the smack down on the Democrats and he used like he used proper decorum to do it.

01:43:26.000 --> 01:43:28.000
It was pretty funny.

01:43:28.000 --> 01:43:30.000
But like, I mean, obviously, Trump is funny.

01:43:30.000 --> 01:43:33.000
I mean, I think that some of the things he says are funny.

01:43:33.000 --> 01:43:41.000
But I mean, I don't think that it's funny that he puts the amaka on and that he is in the bag for the Jews.

01:43:41.000 --> 01:43:42.000
I don't think that's funny.

01:43:42.000 --> 01:43:48.000
But decorum is something that we should have in our lives as Christians.

01:43:48.000 --> 01:43:52.000
And we should know when it's when it's the right time to say things, when it's the wrong time.

01:43:52.000 --> 01:44:00.000
And look at Proverbs, Chapter number 11, Proverbs, Chapter 11.

01:44:00.000 --> 01:44:03.000
And decorum and discretion can kind of go together.

01:44:03.000 --> 01:44:05.000
The Bible talks a lot about discretion.

01:44:05.000 --> 01:44:08.000
Decorum is not a word in the Bible, but discretion is.

01:44:08.000 --> 01:44:17.000
And it's the quality of being cautious, prudent and sensitive in speech or actions to avoid embarrassing or revealing situations.

01:44:17.000 --> 01:44:22.000
He said synonyms would include judgment, wisdom, prudence and caution.

01:44:22.000 --> 01:44:31.000
So just because something enters into your mind to say, it doesn't mean that it's the right time or even that it's OK to say it.

01:44:31.000 --> 01:44:37.000
And I was kind of criticized just recently for saying that sometimes you could be truthful to a fault.

01:44:37.000 --> 01:44:47.000
And what I meant by that was that that you don't always have to just puke out everything that comes to your mind instantly because your truth might not be the truth.

01:44:47.000 --> 01:44:49.000
You know, what you're saying might not be right.

01:44:49.000 --> 01:44:58.000
And like, depending on what the situation is, it's not necessarily right to even say anything because it's not your place.

01:44:58.000 --> 01:45:01.000
You know, some people, it's not just not your place to say something.

01:45:01.000 --> 01:45:05.000
You know, let the people that are supposed to say something say something.

01:45:05.000 --> 01:45:07.000
And maybe you should just be quiet.

01:45:07.000 --> 01:45:09.000
Maybe you should just shut your mouth.

01:45:09.000 --> 01:45:11.000
Proverbs 11 verse 12 says,

01:45:24.000 --> 01:45:28.000
Now, of course, you can't use this verse to just cover up sin.

01:45:28.000 --> 01:45:30.000
It's not what it's talking about.

01:45:30.000 --> 01:45:36.000
But sometimes it could be like maybe someone's sinned in the church and they've gotten right.

01:45:36.000 --> 01:45:44.000
And that person doesn't need to be publicly blasted all over the Internet because they were kicked out for a time or something.

01:45:44.000 --> 01:45:51.000
Not everybody and not everybody that does a sin worthy of getting kicked out of church even gets kicked out because if they repent, they can stay.

01:45:51.000 --> 01:45:54.000
If they're going to quit doing what they were doing, they can stay.

01:45:54.000 --> 01:45:59.000
But some people do get kicked out and some people get brought back in.

01:45:59.000 --> 01:46:02.000
But it just depends on what's going on.

01:46:02.000 --> 01:46:07.000
You know, but it's definitely not our place.

01:46:07.000 --> 01:46:09.000
It's not everybody's place.

01:46:09.000 --> 01:46:13.000
It's not my place to sit there and just shoot out everybody's sins.

01:46:13.000 --> 01:46:16.000
People come to me in council and tell me things.

01:46:16.000 --> 01:46:18.000
And, you know, it's not prudent.

01:46:18.000 --> 01:46:20.000
You know, it's the truth, though, pastor.

01:46:20.000 --> 01:46:22.000
You should tell the truth no matter what.

01:46:22.000 --> 01:46:24.000
Well, yeah, but hold on a second.

01:46:24.000 --> 01:46:27.000
Like my job is to keep confidence.

01:46:27.000 --> 01:46:36.000
And if I just go around telling what everybody told me in some private counseling session, how much confidence are you going to have in me going forward from there?

01:46:36.000 --> 01:46:46.000
So when I say that you can be truthful to a fault, if someone just pinned by this would be this would be an example.

01:46:46.000 --> 01:46:48.000
Somebody comes to your door in the middle of the night, you answer the door.

01:46:48.000 --> 01:46:50.000
You're the man.

01:46:50.000 --> 01:46:51.000
You say, is anybody else in the house?

01:46:51.000 --> 01:46:53.000
They got a gun to your face.

01:46:53.000 --> 01:46:55.000
What are you going to say?

01:46:55.000 --> 01:46:57.000
Well, I got to tell the truth.

01:46:57.000 --> 01:46:59.000
My wife's upstairs in this bedroom.

01:46:59.000 --> 01:47:00.000
The kids are upstairs.

01:47:00.000 --> 01:47:02.000
You're not going to do that.

01:47:02.000 --> 01:47:04.000
You're going to do anything you can to protect them.

01:47:04.000 --> 01:47:06.000
Do you owe that person the truth?

01:47:06.000 --> 01:47:09.000
Do you owe people the truth that they're going to use it to hurt you?

01:47:09.000 --> 01:47:11.000
No, you don't.

01:47:11.000 --> 01:47:19.000
So I'm just trying to make the point that it's not always it's not always discreet to just reveal everything that you know.

01:47:19.000 --> 01:47:23.000
If someone comes to you in confidence, you'll just go and repeat that to somebody else.

01:47:23.000 --> 01:47:27.000
Obviously, if it's some major sin that has to be dealt with, that's different.

01:47:27.000 --> 01:47:28.000
That's the path.

01:47:28.000 --> 01:47:30.000
Like if it's in First Corinthians five.

01:47:30.000 --> 01:47:31.000
Yeah, the pastor should know about it.

01:47:31.000 --> 01:47:33.000
The pastor should deal with that.

01:47:33.000 --> 01:47:34.000
You don't deal with that.

01:47:34.000 --> 01:47:36.000
Let the pastor deal with that, though.

01:47:36.000 --> 01:47:39.000
You don't have to go online and drag their name through the mud.

01:47:39.000 --> 01:47:41.000
Let the pastor deal with that.

01:47:41.000 --> 01:47:46.000
You know, and if you know about it, don't don't tell the pastor and then go tell everybody else in the church about it either.

01:47:46.000 --> 01:47:47.000
Is that what the Bible says to do that?

01:47:47.000 --> 01:47:48.000
No.

01:47:48.000 --> 01:47:53.000
I mean, why would it say a talebearer reveals secrets, but he is of a faithful spirit can seal up the matter?

01:47:53.000 --> 01:48:00.000
Because there's some things that people just tell you in confidence that are not things that you should be repeating.

01:48:00.000 --> 01:48:04.000
And you know, sometimes people don't hold their peace.

01:48:04.000 --> 01:48:06.000
Sometimes people just say whatever comes to their mind.

01:48:06.000 --> 01:48:08.000
They just puked out their opinions.

01:48:08.000 --> 01:48:13.000
They just think that it's OK to say whatever they want whenever they want to whoever they want.

01:48:13.000 --> 01:48:16.000
And look, it's the Bible does not teach that.

01:48:16.000 --> 01:48:19.000
The Bible doesn't teach it's just OK to do that all the time.

01:48:19.000 --> 01:48:20.000
Again, there's a time.

01:48:20.000 --> 01:48:29.000
OK, so Ecclesiastes 3 7 says a time to rend and a time to sow, a time to keep silence and a time to speak.

01:48:29.000 --> 01:48:31.000
So is it always time to speak?

01:48:31.000 --> 01:48:33.000
No, there's a time to keep silence.

01:48:33.000 --> 01:48:37.000
Did Jesus answer every question that he was asked when he was on trial?

01:48:37.000 --> 01:48:38.000
No, he didn't answer him a word.

01:48:38.000 --> 01:48:40.000
He didn't say anything.

01:48:40.000 --> 01:48:45.000
Sometimes better just keep your mouth shut about about things, especially when people are trying to draw you out.

01:48:45.000 --> 01:48:48.000
Trying to use your words against you to hurt you.

01:48:48.000 --> 01:48:54.000
So, you know, there's a time to speak and a time to shut your mouth.

01:48:54.000 --> 01:49:02.000
You know, because remember when David was talking to Saul and that one guy interrupted him and started rebuking Saul?

01:49:02.000 --> 01:49:03.000
Remember that?

01:49:03.000 --> 01:49:05.000
Remember that in the Bible?

01:49:05.000 --> 01:49:14.000
When David cuts the skirt off, you know, the skirt off of Saul's coat when he's covering his feet or whatever.

01:49:14.000 --> 01:49:19.000
And then he yells out to Abner and Saul.

01:49:19.000 --> 01:49:20.000
Do you remember the time?

01:49:20.000 --> 01:49:23.000
And then like one of his men started jumping into the conversation.

01:49:23.000 --> 01:49:24.000
Remember when that happened?

01:49:24.000 --> 01:49:25.000
You know what?

01:49:25.000 --> 01:49:33.000
Remember it happening because it didn't happen because it wasn't their place to just start talking in the middle of their conversation.

01:49:33.000 --> 01:49:37.000
So there's just a time when you should speak, a time when you shouldn't.

01:49:37.000 --> 01:49:46.000
How about when Rabshaka was coming against the children of Israel and the king said, don't don't talk to him.

01:49:46.000 --> 01:49:51.000
And then he starts speaking to them in the Hebrew tongue so they could hear every word that he was saying.

01:49:51.000 --> 01:49:56.000
And like, you know, I came here so that you could drink your own eat your own dung and drink your own piss or whatever.

01:49:56.000 --> 01:49:58.000
And he's just railing on God.

01:49:58.000 --> 01:50:00.000
Did anybody speak?

01:50:00.000 --> 01:50:03.000
No, they didn't speak because the king told them to shut their mouth.

01:50:03.000 --> 01:50:04.000
So be quiet.

01:50:04.000 --> 01:50:07.000
Let me deal with this.

01:50:07.000 --> 01:50:10.000
So they were already told to just not say anything.

01:50:10.000 --> 01:50:16.000
You remember when the apostle Paul rebuked Peter to the face and he was to be blamed.

01:50:16.000 --> 01:50:23.000
That one layman guy jumped in to the convert to the conversation and said, you're the synagogue of Satan, Peter.

01:50:23.000 --> 01:50:24.000
Remember that?

01:50:24.000 --> 01:50:30.000
Oh, yeah. You don't remember that because it didn't happen because the apostle Paul rebuked Peter because it was his place to do that.

01:50:34.000 --> 01:50:37.000
Yeah, you don't remember that because it didn't happen.

01:50:37.000 --> 01:50:42.000
How about do you remember when Moses was talking and that one guy talked for him?

01:50:42.000 --> 01:50:44.000
Remember that?

01:50:44.000 --> 01:50:46.000
Oh, yeah. Joshua.

01:50:46.000 --> 01:50:51.000
Joshua said, you know, Joshua said, you know, because Eldad and me, Dad, were off signing the campus.

01:50:51.000 --> 01:50:55.000
Let's go and turn it turn to Numbers, Chapter 11.

01:50:55.000 --> 01:50:58.000
I mean, Moses is just getting done.

01:50:58.000 --> 01:51:03.000
He just all the his spirit has been put upon the 70 elders.

01:51:03.000 --> 01:51:06.000
These guys, Eldad and me, Dad, are prophesying.

01:51:06.000 --> 01:51:09.000
They're preaching the word of God in the camp.

01:51:09.000 --> 01:51:11.000
They didn't go with all the rest of them.

01:51:11.000 --> 01:51:15.000
They weren't part of, you know, that that can't necessarily.

01:51:15.000 --> 01:51:17.000
But they're preaching the word of God.

01:51:17.000 --> 01:51:19.000
They're doing what's right.

01:51:19.000 --> 01:51:24.000
And so look at Numbers 11, 24.

01:51:24.000 --> 01:51:32.000
It says that Moses went out and told the people the words of the Lord and gathered the 70 men of the elders of the people and set them around about the tabernacle.

01:51:32.000 --> 01:51:37.000
And the Lord came down in a cloud and spake unto them and took of the spirit that was upon him and gave it unto the 70 elders.

01:51:37.000 --> 01:51:42.000
And it came to pass that when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied and did not cease.

01:51:42.000 --> 01:51:44.000
This is a good thing, right?

01:51:44.000 --> 01:51:46.000
But there remained two of the men in the camp.

01:51:46.000 --> 01:51:48.000
The name of one was Eldad.

01:51:48.000 --> 01:51:50.000
The other name of the name of the other was me, Dad.

01:51:50.000 --> 01:52:00.000
And the spirit rested upon them and they were of them that were written but went not out unto the tabernacle and they prophesied in the camp.

01:52:00.000 --> 01:52:05.000
And there ran a young man and told Moses and said, Eldad and me, Dad, do prophesy in the camp.

01:52:05.000 --> 01:52:07.000
He's narking them off, right?

01:52:07.000 --> 01:52:15.000
And Joshua, the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men answered and said, Lord, my Lord Moses forbid them.

01:52:15.000 --> 01:52:24.000
And Moses said unto him, Envy is thou for my sake, would God that all the Lord's people were prophets and that the Lord would put his spirit upon them.

01:52:24.000 --> 01:52:31.000
So, I mean, Joshua's just putting his two cents in where they don't belong.

01:52:31.000 --> 01:52:33.000
And obviously, Joshua was a great man of God.

01:52:33.000 --> 01:52:37.000
But in his early on, this is a this is a mistake.

01:52:37.000 --> 01:52:39.000
He is ending for Moses's sake.

01:52:39.000 --> 01:52:41.000
And is envy good?

01:52:41.000 --> 01:52:42.000
No, envy is a bad sin.

01:52:42.000 --> 01:52:46.000
So envy is not something and obviously he meant well, I think.

01:52:46.000 --> 01:52:48.000
But but Moses reproved him.

01:52:48.000 --> 01:52:50.000
He said, It's not good.

01:52:50.000 --> 01:52:51.000
You know, this is not good.

01:52:51.000 --> 01:52:53.000
I want all God's people to preach.

01:52:53.000 --> 01:52:58.000
I want the spirit of God to rest upon all people so that they all would preach.

01:52:58.000 --> 01:53:18.000
So so no matter how unsaved rep or saved, reprobate, you know, saved or reprobates war against us, we can't allow ourselves to get drawn into a fight where we don't fight within the bounds of what God permits to allow our integrity and goodness to be called into question.

01:53:18.000 --> 01:53:21.000
We need to fight the good fight of faith.

01:53:22.000 --> 01:53:28.000
So it doesn't you know, again, they can do the things that they do, but we can't fight on our on that level.

01:53:28.000 --> 01:53:30.000
We're not supposed to do that.

01:53:30.000 --> 01:53:35.000
Don't allow yourself don't allow your flesh to do the fighting because that's what they want.

01:53:35.000 --> 01:53:41.000
When people attack you, when people try to set traps for you, they want you to respond.

01:53:41.000 --> 01:53:45.000
They want you to respond and do something that they can call you out for.

01:53:45.000 --> 01:53:49.000
They want they want you to look bad for people.

01:53:49.000 --> 01:53:51.000
And this happens a lot.

01:53:51.000 --> 01:53:53.000
This is this is a tactic that people use.

01:53:53.000 --> 01:53:59.000
And if you just keep falling into the same trap, they're just going to keep doing it to you over and over again.

01:53:59.000 --> 01:54:04.000
So we got to be careful about this type of this part of the warfare.

01:54:04.000 --> 01:54:08.000
And that's why, you know, again, David behaved himself wisely.

01:54:08.000 --> 01:54:12.000
David didn't, you know, he knew what Saul was trying to do, but he didn't just go around publishing it.

01:54:12.000 --> 01:54:14.000
He didn't say anything back to him.

01:54:14.000 --> 01:54:17.000
He wasn't trying to campaign for himself or for somebody else.

01:54:17.000 --> 01:54:20.000
He just kept he just did the right thing.

01:54:20.000 --> 01:54:21.000
He was warring a good warfare.

01:54:21.000 --> 01:54:23.000
In the end, David won out that war.

01:54:23.000 --> 01:54:27.000
He was at war with a fellow Christian who was his boss.

01:54:27.000 --> 01:54:29.000
I mean, what a hard position to be in.

01:54:29.000 --> 01:54:35.000
And if you've ever had a boss that just watched you like a hawk and you knew they had it out for you, raise your hand.

01:54:35.000 --> 01:54:37.000
Yeah, I've had it, too.

01:54:37.000 --> 01:54:38.000
Most of the time, they're women.

01:54:38.000 --> 01:54:42.000
But but I've had been to it, too.

01:54:42.000 --> 01:54:44.000
You know, it's not a good feeling.

01:54:44.000 --> 01:54:50.000
It's not it's not fun when someone is eyeballing, just waiting for you to make a mistake so they can jump all over you.

01:54:50.000 --> 01:54:53.000
But people in our lives will do this.

01:54:53.000 --> 01:54:59.000
And so it's important for us to understand that they're doing this and to not fall into that trap.

01:54:59.000 --> 01:55:05.000
So why? Because they want to diminish you and everybody's sight and come and they want to come out looking like they're good and they're right.

01:55:05.000 --> 01:55:08.000
And the only way they can get that is if you give it to them.

01:55:08.000 --> 01:55:10.000
So you have to give it to them.

01:55:10.000 --> 01:55:12.000
You know, but you don't have to.

01:55:12.000 --> 01:55:20.000
But you are. You're giving it to them every time you jump into the mud pit with them and sling mud just like they're slinging mud.

01:55:20.000 --> 01:55:23.000
And so someone's drawing you into a fight.

01:55:23.000 --> 01:55:26.000
Don't just give them the high ground.

01:55:26.000 --> 01:55:32.000
You know, you've got to keep, you know, you've got to keep the subject matter at hand when you're fighting with somebody.

01:55:32.000 --> 01:55:35.000
You know, don't don't go back to their past.

01:55:35.000 --> 01:55:36.000
That's how women fight.

01:55:36.000 --> 01:55:41.000
Women drag up the past and say, you know, time out.

01:55:41.000 --> 01:55:46.000
Remember five years ago when, you know, you didn't make the bed and, you know, I was mad or whatever.

01:55:46.000 --> 01:55:50.000
They'll women are no offense women, but you do do that sometimes.

01:55:50.000 --> 01:55:52.000
They'll drag up some. But men do it too.

01:55:52.000 --> 01:55:54.000
I have to admit men do it too sometimes.

01:55:54.000 --> 01:55:56.000
But we shouldn't be doing that.

01:55:56.000 --> 01:55:58.000
Don't drag people's past out.

01:55:58.000 --> 01:56:00.000
Don't don't don't.

01:56:00.000 --> 01:56:07.000
If someone has already been forgiven for something, we should not attack them for something they've already done and they've already been forgiven for.

01:56:07.000 --> 01:56:10.000
So we need to fight the good fight of faith.

01:56:10.000 --> 01:56:15.000
So throwing people's past sins in their face is not how we fight the good fight of faith.

01:56:15.000 --> 01:56:20.000
We should fight them on the things that we're fighting with them on and not bring up side issues.

01:56:20.000 --> 01:56:27.000
Leadership is like leadership is held to a higher standard to many of the men in this church have been leaders or are leaders.

01:56:27.000 --> 01:56:29.000
And like it or not, you're held to a higher standard.

01:56:29.000 --> 01:56:31.000
That's the way it is.

01:56:32.000 --> 01:56:40.000
And people, you know, you don't want to let people diminish your people, you know, people's view of you.

01:56:40.000 --> 01:56:42.000
You don't want people to do that.

01:56:42.000 --> 01:56:54.000
You don't want to be a person that just lose your temper too easily or, you know, because you stoop down to their level or that there is just, you know, because look, there's only so much credibility that you have.

01:56:54.000 --> 01:57:01.000
And if you lose credibility with people, then, you know, once you're out, it's kind of like being who's ever been to a nickel arcade or like a video game.

01:57:01.000 --> 01:57:02.000
Okay.

01:57:02.000 --> 01:57:04.000
The nickel arcade, I mean, you can get a lot of nickels, right?

01:57:04.000 --> 01:57:07.000
Now they just make you put on a whole bunch of nickels to play one game.

01:57:07.000 --> 01:57:12.000
But back in the day, it used to be like, you know, one or two nickels, you know, but never like eight nickels to play one game.

01:57:12.000 --> 01:57:14.000
But so you can run out of them pretty fast.

01:57:14.000 --> 01:57:19.000
But if you're good at a game, you can make those nickels last for a long time.

01:57:20.000 --> 01:57:31.000
But if you play a game that you just, you suck at and you're constantly making mistakes at, like an impossible game to beat, because sometimes they put these impossible games that, you know, you just have to keep pumping in nickels until you get past the level or whatever.

01:57:31.000 --> 01:57:37.000
And you can, you know, if you minimize the mistakes, you can make your nickels last for a long time.

01:57:37.000 --> 01:57:41.000
But if you just keep making a bunch of mistakes, you're going to run out of nickels very fast and then it's game over.

01:57:41.000 --> 01:57:43.000
And it's kind of like that with leadership.

01:57:43.000 --> 01:57:45.000
It's kind of like that in the Christian life.

01:57:45.000 --> 01:57:51.000
You can lose credibility with people and it's hard to get that credibility back once you've been diminished in that way.

01:57:51.000 --> 01:57:56.000
So it's just good for us to, you know, it's not too late.

01:57:56.000 --> 01:58:02.000
You know, if you felt like you've lost credibility with people, it's not too late to turn that around.

01:58:02.000 --> 01:58:04.000
And I don't think that's true.

01:58:04.000 --> 01:58:06.000
You know, God's a God of second chances.

01:58:06.000 --> 01:58:10.000
You can turn the ship around, but, you know, you can behave yourself wisely.

01:58:10.000 --> 01:58:12.000
You can you can do like David did.

01:58:13.000 --> 01:58:15.000
And, you know, some people will never like you.

01:58:15.000 --> 01:58:17.000
And you know what? That's just the way it is.

01:58:17.000 --> 01:58:19.000
It doesn't matter.

01:58:19.000 --> 01:58:24.000
You just have to keep doing what you know is right and don't give a flip what anybody says.

01:58:24.000 --> 01:58:27.000
But because some people will just hate you for no reason.

01:58:27.000 --> 01:58:29.000
And like I've dealt with this my whole life.

01:58:29.000 --> 01:58:34.000
Either they hated me because I was the tallest kid in the class or they hated me because I was fat or whatever it is.

01:58:34.000 --> 01:58:37.000
People have just always found a reason to hate me.

01:58:37.000 --> 01:58:40.000
And a lot of times it's just because I don't know.

01:58:40.000 --> 01:58:43.000
I don't know. Some people just I mean, it's not just me though.

01:58:43.000 --> 01:58:45.000
People just hate you sometimes for no reason.

01:58:45.000 --> 01:58:47.000
It's like, why don't why don't they like me?

01:58:47.000 --> 01:58:49.000
I don't know why I don't like it. They just don't.

01:58:49.000 --> 01:58:53.000
OK, well, that's weird, but they just don't.

01:58:53.000 --> 01:58:57.000
So you don't really you can't but you can't those are things you can't help.

01:58:57.000 --> 01:59:00.000
You can't help if someone just hates you for no reason.

01:59:00.000 --> 01:59:05.000
And they just constantly are trying to find something they can pick apart in you.

01:59:05.000 --> 01:59:09.000
So but some people just have always done that with me.

01:59:09.000 --> 01:59:16.000
So I understand when people are trying to pick at you and you know, sometimes they just might envy your marriage.

01:59:16.000 --> 01:59:19.000
They might envy your children. They might envy your wife.

01:59:19.000 --> 01:59:23.000
You just don't really know what the reason is, why they envy you.

01:59:23.000 --> 01:59:26.000
But they just do. And some people are just weirdos.

01:59:26.000 --> 01:59:29.000
So that's just true.

01:59:29.000 --> 01:59:33.000
You know, we get these weirdos that stalk our our our every sermon.

01:59:33.000 --> 01:59:35.000
They stalk every single thing that we do.

01:59:35.000 --> 01:59:37.000
They stalk us online. They follow us online.

01:59:37.000 --> 01:59:43.000
And it's got to be the point where I just don't even like being online anymore because I just I just get sick of being stalked all the time.

01:59:43.000 --> 01:59:45.000
But, you know, I got stalkers.

01:59:45.000 --> 01:59:52.000
You know, you guys ever people ever try to bring like pizza to you guys in the middle of service anymore?

01:59:52.000 --> 01:59:54.000
That has never happened here.

01:59:54.000 --> 01:59:58.000
Wow. Well, probably will today.

01:59:58.000 --> 01:59:59.000
But yeah, I mean, I never saw.

01:59:59.000 --> 02:00:04.000
I feel like it's every once in a while this guy gets out of jail and then he just starts texting me again or something.

02:00:04.000 --> 02:00:12.000
But like. But when people do that kind of activity, just don't even acknowledge them at all.

02:00:12.000 --> 02:00:21.000
Like the best thing to do with a stalker is to just freeze them out because once you acknowledge them, then they're just stalking you again all over again.

02:00:21.000 --> 02:00:23.000
It's like these stalkers to the stars.

02:00:23.000 --> 02:00:26.000
Sometimes they kill the stars that they stalk.

02:00:26.000 --> 02:00:27.000
I'm sure you've heard of that.

02:00:27.000 --> 02:00:33.000
But they I mean, they tell they tell these people do not respond to them at all.

02:00:33.000 --> 02:00:36.000
It's just like, oh, hey, maybe there is a chance.

02:00:36.000 --> 02:00:38.000
So you're saying there's a chance.

02:00:38.000 --> 02:00:40.000
That's what that's how they think.

02:00:40.000 --> 02:00:49.000
And once you know, someone just stalk you and only had evil, you know, only have been evil towards you in times past.

02:00:49.000 --> 02:00:54.000
Well, it's time to learn a lesson and just freeze those people out of your life.

02:00:54.000 --> 02:00:56.000
That's the best way to war that kind of warfare.

02:00:56.000 --> 02:00:58.000
Because, look, we're just in.

02:00:59.000 --> 02:01:09.000
And look, if you're preaching at this church and every every man in here pretty much preaches at this church, you know, you're going to get criticized no matter what.

02:01:09.000 --> 02:01:14.000
You know, and that was that was like when I first started preaching, you know, and putting it on the Internet.

02:01:14.000 --> 02:01:20.000
Like I just I don't know if I was ready for people to just sit there and criticize me like they did.

02:01:20.000 --> 02:01:22.000
But, you know, after a while, it just doesn't bother you anymore.

02:01:22.000 --> 02:01:25.000
But at first, it does kind of bother you a little bit.

02:01:25.000 --> 02:01:29.000
You know, you're like, oh, OK, well, I suck at this and I suck at that.

02:01:29.000 --> 02:01:32.000
But like every preacher deals with that.

02:01:32.000 --> 02:01:38.000
And we have to learn to deal with that and deal with criticism and not let it just don't worry about it.

02:01:38.000 --> 02:01:45.000
You know, but obviously we should take some criticisms that people give us and think, well, hey, is this true about me?

02:01:45.000 --> 02:01:47.000
Can I fix this about myself?

02:01:47.000 --> 02:01:50.000
Because, look, everybody has something they can fix.

02:01:50.000 --> 02:01:55.000
And not everything that everybody's criticizing you on is not necessarily not is necessarily not true.

02:01:55.000 --> 02:02:04.000
And, you know, I've even had things that old TMAC, Tommy MacMurtry has said to me.

02:02:04.000 --> 02:02:09.000
And like I take those things into consideration sometimes and think, you know, is he right about this?

02:02:09.000 --> 02:02:14.000
And try to, you know, if I if there's something I could I can fix that I'm not doing right,

02:02:14.000 --> 02:02:18.000
that maybe there is some truth to something that somebody's saying, doesn't matter who it is.

02:02:18.000 --> 02:02:27.000
I will still take those things into consideration and at least try to put into practice in my life things to improve myself.

02:02:27.000 --> 02:02:28.000
Doesn't matter who said it.

02:02:28.000 --> 02:02:30.000
It could be my worst enemy says it.

02:02:30.000 --> 02:02:32.000
And if it's true, it's true.

02:02:32.000 --> 02:02:38.000
You know, fix it, because those things ring true in your in your brain and your conscience for a reason.

02:02:38.000 --> 02:02:46.000
So but, you know, when you get up and preach the word of God behind this pulpit, you might be in Newsweek magazine next week.

02:02:46.000 --> 02:02:47.000
You just don't know.

02:02:47.000 --> 02:02:52.000
You might be getting calls from what was it was that chick's name?

02:02:52.000 --> 02:02:54.000
Oh, what is her name?

02:02:54.000 --> 02:03:01.000
Marjorie Marjorie Taylor Green's ex-husband might be trying to get a hold of you to have a podcast with him or something.

02:03:03.000 --> 02:03:12.000
I mean, you might have some trainee try to come and infiltrate the church and try to expose the whole church as these hate monger or whatever.

02:03:12.000 --> 02:03:15.000
I mean, we just don't know when the attacks are going to come.

02:03:15.000 --> 02:03:16.000
But there's weirdos everywhere.

02:03:16.000 --> 02:03:20.000
There's weirdos that attach themselves specifically to this movement.

02:03:20.000 --> 02:03:23.000
There's tons of sycophants that attach themselves to this movement.

02:03:23.000 --> 02:03:28.000
And sometimes sycophants are hard to pick off and hard to pick off and pick out.

02:03:28.000 --> 02:03:29.000
But sometimes it's pretty easy.

02:03:29.000 --> 02:03:34.000
Sometimes the flatters are just over the top and you can pick them off really easy.

02:03:34.000 --> 02:03:37.000
But flattery is a tool that they use.

02:03:37.000 --> 02:03:40.000
And then it's because everybody wants to feel good about themselves.

02:03:40.000 --> 02:03:41.000
Everybody does.

02:03:41.000 --> 02:03:47.000
So when someone tells you something about yourself, you're like, you know, I mean, I am pretty.

02:03:47.000 --> 02:03:51.000
You know, well, women don't like to give compliments like that very often.

02:03:51.000 --> 02:03:52.000
Oh, you look pretty.

02:03:53.000 --> 02:03:56.000
That's like a hard thing for a woman to say for some reason.

02:03:56.000 --> 02:04:00.000
You know, but but there's nothing wrong with telling someone they look pretty or that they're dressed.

02:04:00.000 --> 02:04:02.000
You know, I like your dress or whatever.

02:04:02.000 --> 02:04:07.000
But there's you know, but if people are just over the top with compliments, then there's something off.

02:04:07.000 --> 02:04:10.000
You know, you're the best preacher I've ever heard in my life.

02:04:10.000 --> 02:04:12.000
It's like, dude, I've only been preaching for a little while.

02:04:12.000 --> 02:04:15.000
But still, I agree with everything that you believe.

02:04:16.000 --> 02:04:19.000
You preach the best, you know, the most.

02:04:19.000 --> 02:04:23.000
And it's just like, come on, man, you're laying it on a little bit thick now, aren't you?

02:04:23.000 --> 02:04:25.000
I'm not that great.

02:04:25.000 --> 02:04:32.000
So, you know, when when I see people doing that kind of stuff, then it just is like, I don't know, there's something off with this person.

02:04:32.000 --> 02:04:36.000
So anyway, I'm going to hurry up and get this first half done here.

02:04:36.000 --> 02:04:40.000
So but, you know, people can just envy for weird things.

02:04:40.000 --> 02:04:48.000
Now, I don't have time to go to the Jeremiah verses, but, you know, Jeremiah, he when the Chaldeans, I'm just going to sum it up really quickly.

02:04:48.000 --> 02:05:00.000
When the Chaldeans leave at one point and Jeremiah's been preaching, he said there even if he's like, even if one person's left remaining, he's going to run and, you know, cast a torch and burn the whole city on fire.

02:05:00.000 --> 02:05:02.000
If there was only one person left, right.

02:05:02.000 --> 02:05:04.000
I'm definitely paraphrasing that.

02:05:04.000 --> 02:05:11.000
But he's just saying that even if there's just one person, God's going to allow this place to be destroyed even if one man remains in this army.

02:05:11.000 --> 02:05:13.000
But then the Chaldeans leave.

02:05:13.000 --> 02:05:18.000
And so they think, oh, we're safe, we're safe.

02:05:18.000 --> 02:05:20.000
But they weren't safe.

02:05:20.000 --> 02:05:21.000
And Jeremiah, I know they weren't safe.

02:05:21.000 --> 02:05:24.000
But then as soon as they leave, Jeremiah leaves.

02:05:24.000 --> 02:05:27.000
And then they arrest him immediately.

02:05:27.000 --> 02:05:33.000
Because it looks like, well, they they're just doing they're watching his every move.

02:05:33.000 --> 02:05:38.000
They're trying to get something on them they could kill him for or throw him in prison for.

02:05:38.000 --> 02:05:40.000
They wanted to kill him.

02:05:40.000 --> 02:05:44.000
But so he's leaving at the same time, you know, around the same time as the Chaldeans army is leaving.

02:05:44.000 --> 02:05:48.000
And they're like, you're you're you're falling away to the enemy.

02:05:48.000 --> 02:05:50.000
He's like, no, I'm not.

02:05:50.000 --> 02:05:52.000
I'm going to Benjamin where I'm from.

02:05:52.000 --> 02:05:53.000
And they're like, no.

02:05:53.000 --> 02:05:58.000
And then like they beat him up and, you know, they take him before the princes and the princes want to kill him.

02:05:58.000 --> 02:06:05.000
But that's a kind of allows him to live and eat bread till, you know, the cap till they come and destroy the city or whatever.

02:06:05.000 --> 02:06:10.000
But the point is, is that now Jeremiah wasn't doing anything wrong.

02:06:10.000 --> 02:06:13.000
But sometimes we can appear to be doing something wrong.

02:06:13.000 --> 02:06:23.000
And people look at our motives and try to just pick something out there and go, oh, yeah, well, why did you do this or why did you like that or why did you share this or why did you share that?

02:06:23.000 --> 02:06:33.000
So it's like, well, people, we should behave ourselves wisely and think about what you know, you circumspect wisdom and think like, what, you know, why am I doing this?

02:06:33.000 --> 02:06:36.000
What is this? What is this going to?

02:06:36.000 --> 02:06:39.000
What are people going to think about what I'm doing here or what I'm saying here?

02:06:39.000 --> 02:06:43.000
And we do have to kind of keep those things.

02:06:43.000 --> 02:06:45.000
We have to keep we have to learn from these things.

02:06:45.000 --> 02:06:52.000
And even though Jeremiah wasn't doing anything wrong, the timing, maybe if he would have left like a few days later, they would have arrested him and he wouldn't have to go there.

02:06:52.000 --> 02:06:58.000
Obviously, it's God's will that he would be persecuted and things like that and that he would preach how he preached.

02:06:58.000 --> 02:07:07.000
But I'm just again, I'm not blaming Jeremiah for anything, but I'm just saying that we just have to pay attention to what we're doing because things can be taken the wrong way sometimes.

02:07:07.000 --> 02:07:08.000
That's all.

02:07:08.000 --> 02:07:14.000
So and well, that seems like a good place to stop.

02:07:14.000 --> 02:07:19.000
So that'll segue to my second sermon this evening.

02:07:19.000 --> 02:07:21.000
So let's go ahead and just have a word of prayer.

02:07:21.000 --> 02:07:22.000
We thank you for this church.

02:07:22.000 --> 02:07:25.000
We thank you for seven great years here.

02:07:25.000 --> 02:07:33.000
And Lord, sometimes the years have been tough and it always seems like around Easter things have been riled up.

02:07:33.000 --> 02:07:43.000
But like, Lord, I just pray that you continue to bless this church, help it to grow, help it to help the people to stay zealous and on fire for soul winning.

02:07:43.000 --> 02:07:50.000
I pray you continue to work through all the members of our church here and the families that grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

02:07:50.000 --> 02:07:58.000
I pray that you just bless us now as we go and have lunch and go soul winning and pray soul winning today.

02:07:58.000 --> 02:08:02.000
And as we come together tonight for the next service in Jesus name, we pray.

02:08:20.000 --> 02:08:33.000
Page number 176 and we'll go ahead and sing it twice through page number 176.

02:08:33.000 --> 02:08:35.000

All the children of the world.

02:08:59.000 --> 02:09:05.000
Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight.

02:09:05.000 --> 02:09:11.000

02:09:11.000 --> 02:09:16.000
Jesus loves the little children.

02:09:16.000 --> 02:09:21.000
All the children of the world.

02:09:21.000 --> 02:09:27.000
Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight.

02:09:27.000 --> 02:09:32.000
Jesus loves the little children of the world.

02:09:32.000 --> 02:09:34.000
All right, excellent singing everybody.

02:09:34.000 --> 02:09:37.000
