147 in the blue. It's 147 in the blue. Join with me. Verily, verily.

14:48.260 --> 14:58.260
All together on the first.

14:58.260 --> 15:09.260
Oh, what a Savior that He died for me! From condemnation He hath made me free.

15:09.260 --> 15:20.260
He that believeth on the sons hath He hath everlasting life.

15:20.260 --> 15:31.260
Verily, verily, I say unto you. Verily, verily, message of who knew.

15:31.260 --> 15:42.260
He that believeth on the sons is true. Hath everlasting life.

15:42.260 --> 15:53.260
O my iniquities on Him were laid. O my indebtedness by Him was paid.

15:53.260 --> 16:04.260
O who believe on Him the Lord hath sent hath everlasting life.

16:04.260 --> 16:15.260
Verily, verily, I say unto you. Verily, verily, message of who knew.

16:15.260 --> 16:26.260
He that believeth on the sons is true. Hath everlasting life.

16:26.260 --> 16:37.260
Though poor and needy I can trust my Lord. Though weak and sinful I believe His word.

16:37.260 --> 16:49.260
O glad message every child of God. Hath everlasting life.

16:49.260 --> 17:00.260
Verily, verily, I say unto you. Verily, verily, message of who knew.

17:00.260 --> 17:10.260
He that believeth on the sons is true. Hath everlasting life.

17:10.260 --> 17:13.260
Make sure you shout the shout on the last one.

17:13.260 --> 17:25.260
Though all unworthy and I will not bow. For Him that cometh He will not cast down.

17:25.260 --> 17:37.260
He that believeth all the good news shall help the everlasting life.

17:37.260 --> 17:48.260
Verily, verily, I say unto you. Verily, verily, message of who knew.

17:48.260 --> 17:59.260
He that believeth on the sons is true. Hath everlasting life.

17:59.260 --> 18:04.260
Amen. Good sing. Brother Alex, can you open us with a prayer?

18:07.260 --> 18:24.260
Thank you. So we'll have a prayer.

18:24.260 --> 18:30.260
Amen. Next song is number two.

18:30.260 --> 18:42.260
Number two. In my heart there rings a melody.

18:42.260 --> 18:44.260
Come, all together.

18:44.260 --> 18:54.260
I have a song that Jesus beween. It was sent from Huna Fua.

18:54.260 --> 19:06.260
There never was a sweeter melody. It is the melody of love.

19:06.260 --> 19:17.260
In my heart there rings a melody. There rings a melody with heaven's harmony.

19:17.260 --> 19:27.260
In my heart there rings a melody. There rings a melody of love.

19:27.260 --> 19:38.260
I love the Christ who died on Calvary. For He washed my sins away.

19:38.260 --> 19:50.260
He put with them my heart a melody. And I know it's there to stay.

19:50.260 --> 20:02.260
In my heart there rings a melody. There rings a melody with heaven's harmony.

20:02.260 --> 20:13.260
In my heart there rings a melody. There rings a melody of love.

20:13.260 --> 20:25.260
It will be my endless demon glory. With the angels I will sing.

20:25.260 --> 20:38.260
It will be a song with glorious harmony. When the chords of heaven ring.

20:38.260 --> 20:50.260
In my heart there rings a melody. There rings a melody with heaven's harmony.

20:50.260 --> 21:02.260
In my heart there rings a melody. There rings a melody of love.

21:02.260 --> 21:06.260
Amen. Good singing at this time. We'll have the announcements.

21:06.260 --> 21:12.260
Thank you, Brother Bill.

21:12.260 --> 21:18.260
Alright. If I could get a bulletin, that would be also equally great.

21:18.260 --> 21:22.260
Anybody got one?

21:22.260 --> 21:26.260
Alright. Thank you. I appreciate that.

21:26.260 --> 21:30.260
Good evening. Welcome to the Shreve Foundation Baptist Church.

21:30.260 --> 21:32.260
Let's take our bulletins and go through the announcements.

21:32.260 --> 21:36.260
Anybody need one? Anybody else besides me?

21:36.260 --> 21:41.260
You got one left? Anybody need one? The one that we have left? No?

21:41.260 --> 21:44.260
Alright. On the front cover we have our verse of the week. It says,

21:44.260 --> 21:47.260
But I have trusted in thy mercy. My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

21:47.260 --> 21:51.260
I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

21:51.260 --> 21:55.260
We'll be having our service times on the inside page.

21:55.260 --> 21:59.260
10.30am Sunday morning service, Sunday evening service, 3.30pm.

21:59.260 --> 22:03.260
And our Thursday Bible study, 6.30pm.

22:03.260 --> 22:07.260
And we'll be in 1 Samuel chapter 5.

22:07.260 --> 22:10.260
Our soloing times are listed below.

22:10.260 --> 22:13.260
Normally we'd be in the book of Revelation, but tonight I'm preaching

22:13.260 --> 22:17.260
just a stand-alone sermon about the crucifixion,

22:17.260 --> 22:21.260
the death and crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ.

22:21.260 --> 22:25.260
And our soloing times. We had soloing today. Did anybody get saved out there today?

22:25.260 --> 22:29.260
Anybody have any salvations? One right there. Anybody else?

22:29.260 --> 22:33.260
Alright. And then, let's see.

22:33.260 --> 22:37.260
I know that brother Jim over in West Virginia

22:37.260 --> 22:41.260
had one yesterday. So he's being counted

22:41.260 --> 22:45.260
among our numbers. Way, way, way local

22:45.260 --> 22:49.260
and soul winning. So that's pretty cool.

22:49.260 --> 22:53.260
Let's see. The men's preaching. How did that go this morning? I didn't get a chance to listen to any of them.

22:53.260 --> 22:57.260
Who all preached this morning?

22:57.260 --> 23:01.260
One, two, three, four, five. Alright, cool. I'm looking forward to hearing those.

23:01.260 --> 23:05.260
Thank you guys for doing that. I appreciate it.

23:05.260 --> 23:09.260
And I preached this morning in Seattle. I've been everywhere.

23:09.260 --> 23:13.260
I feel like that song, I've been everywhere.

23:13.260 --> 23:17.260
I've been driving all over the place, taking my printer everywhere I go.

23:17.260 --> 23:21.260
I just don't trust the hotel printers anymore. I just can't do it.

23:21.260 --> 23:25.260
It's all different technology at all these different places. And I don't even know if I trust the technology

23:25.260 --> 23:29.260
of the printer I have. But somehow I figured it all out.

23:29.260 --> 23:33.260
And they'll reprint everything. I did the wedding for Noah and Mai yesterday. That was really nice.

23:33.260 --> 23:37.260
And so, anyway, I drove straight here from

23:37.260 --> 23:41.260
church. And I ended up missing my stop for gas where I normally

23:41.260 --> 23:45.260
stop. And I had to go exit 72. And for some reason I was

23:45.260 --> 23:49.260
thinking it was exit 69. But it's exit 72. And then I had to turn

23:49.260 --> 23:53.260
around at CJ and Rachel's exit and then turn around and come back.

23:53.260 --> 23:57.260
So, sorry I was late. So, my bad.

23:57.260 --> 24:01.260
Let's see. We got the men's preaching night.

24:01.260 --> 24:05.260
Next Sunday is the Spokane anniversary.

24:05.260 --> 24:09.260
Is there anybody that's planning on going up there for the anniversary? Anybody?

24:09.260 --> 24:13.260
No? Okay.

24:13.260 --> 24:17.260
And then, let's see, we got the Megasolening marathon the following weekend.

24:17.260 --> 24:21.260
So, that is on the 4th on Saturday.

24:21.260 --> 24:25.260
And so, hopefully everybody's planning on participating in that. We're going to meet on location.

24:25.260 --> 24:29.260
The location will be revealed at the last

24:29.260 --> 24:33.260
hour. So, no, it'll be revealed. And we'll all have lunch

24:33.260 --> 24:37.260
someplace. But it's going to be someplace important.

24:37.260 --> 24:41.260
The Baptist Bias results will be on the show right afterwards on the Baptist Bias

24:41.260 --> 24:45.260
channel. I think they have a YouTube channel also if you're not

24:45.260 --> 24:49.260
on the rumble. And let's see.

24:49.260 --> 24:53.260
Easter Sunday, the next day.

24:53.260 --> 24:57.260
We'll have a potluck after the morning service. And I don't see

24:57.260 --> 25:01.260
Julene here. Where's Julene? Not here.

25:01.260 --> 25:05.260
Okay. Ham is provided by the church and

25:05.260 --> 25:09.260
we'll have some desserts and then bring a side if you would.

25:09.260 --> 25:13.260
Also, the Seattle anniversary is going to be the weekend of the

25:13.260 --> 25:17.260
17th. And if you plan on going to that,

25:17.260 --> 25:21.260
Pastor Anderson's preaching on Friday up there. And then

25:21.260 --> 25:25.260
I'll be preaching Sunday up there. There's going to be a solening

25:25.260 --> 25:29.260
on the Saturday. And then the same

25:29.260 --> 25:33.260
weekend, which I didn't mean to do this, but that same weekend, Brother David

25:33.260 --> 25:37.260
and Remy are kind of doing a co-soling event

25:37.260 --> 25:41.260
on the reservation in Idaho.

25:41.260 --> 25:45.260
So I meant to put the details in here,

25:45.260 --> 25:49.260
but I didn't end up getting a chance to. But I'll post it in the group too.

25:49.260 --> 25:53.260
I did post it on our YouTube channel. So if anybody

25:53.260 --> 25:57.260
wants to go to that, the details are also on the

25:57.260 --> 26:01.260
Straight Paths YouTube channel.

26:01.260 --> 26:05.260
And on ours too. So all the other stuff is

26:05.260 --> 26:09.260
on that page there. Did we sing Happy Birthday this morning?

26:09.260 --> 26:13.260
Ms. Rachel, we need to sing to you again? Is that what's going on?

26:13.260 --> 26:17.260
We didn't sing? What? Were you here?

26:17.260 --> 26:21.260
You weren't? Okay. So we've got to sing to you now.

26:21.260 --> 26:25.260
Usually you escape and hide someplace. What happened?

26:25.260 --> 26:29.260
So let's go ahead and sing Happy Birthday to Ms. Rachel then.

26:29.260 --> 26:33.260
So the 23rd is your birthday? How old are you going to be?

26:33.260 --> 26:37.260
She's not telling. Okay. Never ask a woman that. Okay. Alright, let's sing to Ms. Rachel.

26:37.260 --> 26:41.260
Alright. Ready?

26:41.980 --> 26:47.580
acked

26:47.580 --> 26:51.580
Happy birthday to you.

26:51.580 --> 26:55.580
Happy birthday to you.

26:55.580 --> 26:59.580
Happy birthday, Ms. Rachel.

26:59.580 --> 27:03.580
Happy birthday to you.

27:03.580 --> 27:07.580
Happy birthday, Ms. Rachel.

27:07.580 --> 27:11.580
Happy birthday, Ms. Rachel.

27:11.580 --> 27:15.580
All right, that's all I have for now. Let's go ahead and sing another song and then we'll receive the offering.

27:15.580 --> 27:19.580
All right, we're back.

27:19.580 --> 27:23.580
Psalm 81.

27:23.580 --> 27:27.580
Psalm 81 in your binders.

27:27.580 --> 27:31.580
Psalm 81 in your binders.

27:31.580 --> 27:35.580
Sing aloud unto God our strength.

27:35.580 --> 27:39.580
Sing aloud unto God our strength.

27:39.580 --> 27:43.580
Sing aloud unto God our strength.

27:43.580 --> 27:49.580
Sing aloud unto God our strength.

27:49.580 --> 27:55.580
Make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

27:55.580 --> 28:01.580
Take us home and bring hither the timbrel,

28:01.580 --> 28:05.580
The pleasant harp with the psaltery.

28:05.580 --> 28:11.580
Blow up the trumpet in the new moon.

28:11.580 --> 28:17.580
In the time appointed our solemn feast day.

28:17.580 --> 28:27.580
For this was a statute for Israel and the law of the God of Jacob.

28:27.580 --> 28:39.580
Yes, he ordained in Joseph for a testimony when he went out.

28:39.580 --> 28:49.580
Through the land of Egypt where I heard a language that I understood not.

28:49.580 --> 28:55.580
I removed his shoulder from the burden.

28:55.580 --> 29:01.580
His hands were delivered from the pot.

29:01.580 --> 29:07.580
The gold in trouble I delivered thee.

29:07.580 --> 29:13.580
I answered thee in the secret place of thunder.

29:13.580 --> 29:19.580
I proved thee at the waters of Maribah.

29:19.580 --> 29:25.580
See law here for my people.

29:25.580 --> 29:35.580
And I will testify unto thee, O Israel, of thou wilt hearken unto me.

29:35.580 --> 29:41.580
There shall no strange God be in thee.

29:41.580 --> 29:47.580
Neither shall thou worship any strange God.

29:47.580 --> 29:57.580
I am the Lord thy God which brought thee out of the land of Egypt.

29:57.580 --> 30:03.580
Open thy mouth wide in Aquapillen.

30:03.580 --> 30:09.580
But my people would not hearken to my voice.

30:09.580 --> 30:15.580
And Israel would not of me.

30:15.580 --> 30:21.580
So I gave them up unto their own hearts lost.

30:21.580 --> 30:27.580
And they walked in their own counsels.

30:27.580 --> 30:33.580
O that my people had hearkened unto me.

30:33.580 --> 30:39.580
And Israel had walked in my ways.

30:39.580 --> 30:45.580
I should soon have subdued their enemies.

30:45.580 --> 30:51.580
And turned my hand against their adversaries.

30:51.580 --> 30:57.580
The haters of the Lord should have submitted.

30:57.580 --> 31:03.580
Should have submitted themselves unto him.

31:03.580 --> 31:09.580
But their time should have endured forever.

31:09.580 --> 31:15.580
He should have fed them also.

31:15.580 --> 31:21.580
With the finest of the wheat and with honey.

31:21.580 --> 31:27.580
Out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

31:27.580 --> 31:33.580
Out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

31:51.580 --> 31:57.580
All together on the bass.

31:57.580 --> 32:07.580
I need the area most gracious for.

32:07.580 --> 32:17.580
No ten her voice like thine can piece upon.

32:17.580 --> 32:25.580
I need thee, O I need thee.

32:25.580 --> 32:29.580
Area I need thee.

32:29.580 --> 32:35.580
O bless me now my Savior.

32:35.580 --> 32:39.580
I come to thee.

32:39.580 --> 32:45.580
I need thee, area.

32:45.580 --> 32:49.580
Save thou near crime.

32:49.580 --> 32:59.580
Temptations lose their power when thou art nigh.

32:59.580 --> 33:05.580
I need thee, O I need thee.

33:05.580 --> 33:09.580
Area I need thee.

33:09.580 --> 33:15.580
O bless me now my Savior.

33:15.580 --> 33:19.580
I come to thee.

33:19.580 --> 33:25.580
I need thee, area.

33:25.580 --> 33:29.580
Enjoy your pain.

33:29.580 --> 33:35.580
Come quickly and abide.

33:35.580 --> 33:39.580
For life is vain.

33:39.580 --> 33:45.580
I need thee, O I need thee.

33:45.580 --> 33:51.580
Area I need thee.

33:51.580 --> 33:55.580
O bless me now my Savior.

33:55.580 --> 34:01.580
I come to thee.

34:01.580 --> 34:07.580
I need thee, area.

34:07.580 --> 34:11.580
Most holy one.

34:11.580 --> 34:21.580
O make me thine and in thou blessed Son.

34:21.580 --> 34:27.580
I need thee, O I need thee.

34:27.580 --> 34:33.580
Area I need thee.

34:33.580 --> 34:37.580
O bless me now my Savior.

34:37.580 --> 34:43.580
I come to thee.

34:43.580 --> 34:47.580
Amen. At this time we'll collect an offering.

34:47.580 --> 34:51.580
Brother Justin, can you bless the offering?

35:17.580 --> 35:19.580
Amen.

35:47.580 --> 35:49.580
Amen.

36:17.580 --> 36:19.580
Amen.

36:47.580 --> 37:11.580
Be in John chapter number 19. If you don't have a Bible, there should be one underneath the seat in front of you.

37:11.580 --> 37:15.580
Be in John 19.

37:15.580 --> 37:23.580
John 19, the Bible reads,

37:23.580 --> 37:29.580
Then Pilate therefore took Jesus and scourged him,

37:29.580 --> 37:33.580
And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns and put it on his head,

37:33.580 --> 37:39.580
And they put on him a purple robe, and said, Hail, King of the Jews!

37:39.580 --> 37:41.580
And they smote him with their hands.

37:41.580 --> 37:49.580
Pilate therefore went forth again and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.

37:49.580 --> 37:53.580
Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe.

37:53.580 --> 37:57.580
And Pilate saith unto him, Behold, a man!

37:57.580 --> 38:04.580
When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him!

38:04.580 --> 38:10.580
Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him and crucify him, for I find no fault in him.

38:10.580 --> 38:17.580
The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

38:17.580 --> 38:21.580
When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid,

38:21.580 --> 38:26.580
And went again into the judgment hall and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou?

38:26.580 --> 38:28.580
But Jesus gave him no answer.

38:28.580 --> 38:32.580
Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me?

38:32.580 --> 38:37.580
Knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee and have power to release thee?

38:37.580 --> 38:44.580
Jesus answered, Thou couldst have no power at all against me, except for as given thee from above.

38:44.580 --> 38:48.580
Therefore he that delivered me unto thee had the greater sin.

38:48.580 --> 38:53.580
And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him.

38:53.580 --> 38:58.580
But the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend.

38:58.580 --> 39:03.580
Whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.

39:03.580 --> 39:13.580
When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabotha.

39:13.580 --> 39:17.580
And it was the preparation of the Passover, and about the sixth hour.

39:17.580 --> 39:24.580
And he saith unto the Jews, Behold your king! But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him!

39:24.580 --> 39:28.580
Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your king?

39:28.580 --> 39:32.580
The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

39:32.580 --> 39:37.580
Then delivered he him, therefore unto them to be crucified.

39:37.580 --> 39:40.580
And they took Jesus and led him away.

39:40.580 --> 39:51.580
And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Galgotha, where they crucified him, and two other with him.

39:51.580 --> 39:57.580
On either side won Jesus and Jesus in the midst.

39:57.580 --> 40:03.580
And Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross, and the writing was Jesus of Nazareth, the king of the Jews.

40:03.580 --> 40:11.580
This title then read many of the Jews, for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city, and it was written in the Hebrew and Greek and Latin.

40:11.580 --> 40:19.580
Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not the king of the Jews, but that he said, I am king of the Jews.

40:19.580 --> 40:24.580
Pilate answered, What have I written? What I have written, I have written.

40:24.580 --> 40:33.580
Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts, to every soldier a part, and also his coat.

40:33.580 --> 40:38.580
Now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

40:38.580 --> 40:43.580
They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it.

40:43.580 --> 40:53.580
Whose it shall be, that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots.

40:53.580 --> 40:56.580
These things therefore the soldiers did.

40:56.580 --> 41:05.580
Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.

41:05.580 --> 41:15.580
When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son.

41:15.580 --> 41:18.580
Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother.

41:18.580 --> 41:22.580
And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

41:22.580 --> 41:30.580
After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

41:30.580 --> 41:41.580
Now there was said a vessel full of vinegar, and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon his mouth, and put it to his mouth.

41:41.580 --> 41:45.580
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished.

41:45.580 --> 41:48.580
And he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

41:48.580 --> 41:55.580
The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the Sabbath day.

41:55.580 --> 41:57.580
For that Sabbath day was in high day.

41:57.580 --> 42:03.580
We sought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

42:03.580 --> 42:10.580
Then came the soldiers, and break the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.

42:10.580 --> 42:16.580
But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they break not his legs.

42:16.580 --> 42:23.580
But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

42:23.580 --> 42:33.580
And he that saw it bear record, and his record is true, and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

42:33.580 --> 42:38.580
For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, a bone of him shall not be broken.

42:38.580 --> 42:42.580
And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

42:42.580 --> 42:49.580
And after this Joseph of Arimnothea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews,

42:49.580 --> 42:54.580
besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him leave.

42:54.580 --> 42:57.580
He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.

42:57.580 --> 43:02.580
And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night,

43:02.580 --> 43:07.580
and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.

43:07.580 --> 43:15.580
Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

43:15.580 --> 43:25.580
Now in the place where he was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new sepulcher, wherein was never man yet laid.

43:26.580 --> 43:32.580
There laid they Jesus, therefore, because of the Jews preparation day, for the sepulcher was nigh at hand.

43:32.580 --> 43:34.580
Brother Tim, will you pray for us?

43:44.580 --> 43:50.580
Alright, we're normally in Revelation on Sunday nights, but like I said we're going to forego that.

43:50.580 --> 44:00.580
I normally every year I preach at least one sermon where I definitely emphasize the death and burial of Christ.

44:00.580 --> 44:06.580
I think it's important. We already did the Lord's Supper, and I kind of did that out of order, so I'm kind of doing this out of order.

44:06.580 --> 44:14.580
Usually I preach a sermon like this, and then we do the Lord's Supper, but I'm kind of being backwards this year, and I apologize for that.

44:14.580 --> 44:21.580
But of course Easter is coming up. Next week I won't be here normally. Next week would be the time that I would preach a sermon like this,

44:21.580 --> 44:27.580
but I'm doing a little early, like I did the Lord's Supper a little early, so forgive me.

44:27.580 --> 44:33.580
I preach this sermon in Seattle, so I never usually preach the same sermon twice like that,

44:33.580 --> 44:38.580
but I usually, even if I do preach the same sermon twice, I usually don't preach exactly the same anyway,

44:38.580 --> 44:45.580
so hopefully nobody watched the sermon before they came to church, otherwise you're going to hear the same sermon twice, but not exactly hopefully.

44:45.580 --> 44:52.580
Anyway, John chapter 19 is going to be a little bit like a Bible study, but I'm definitely going to be preaching in it too.

44:52.580 --> 45:03.580
So the first thing I want you to look at this morning here, I mean this evening, is Jesus suffered and bled severely for us, severely.

45:03.580 --> 45:10.580
Look at chapter 19, verse 1, the Bible says, Then Pilate therefore took Jesus and scourged him.

45:10.580 --> 45:18.580
And that word scourged means to whip severely. So he didn't just get like a light lashing here.

45:18.580 --> 45:28.580
Someone actually took a whip that was skilled probably in this area. It wasn't like he just grabbed some regular soldier that's never held a whip in his hand before.

45:28.580 --> 45:39.580
He's probably someone that has done this before, probably very skilled in the art of giving out beatings, and took it and they probably, you know,

45:39.580 --> 45:47.580
bared his back, he probably didn't have his clothes on still at this point, and lashed his back with a whip.

45:47.580 --> 45:52.580
And has anybody ever actually heard a whip crack or seen something cracked with a whip before?

45:52.580 --> 46:03.580
They're leather and they draw blood. When human flesh is hit with a whip like that, it's going to cause a stripe, a bloody stripe,

46:03.580 --> 46:07.580
and it's going to cut down and pass the skin and make him bleed.

46:07.580 --> 46:18.580
And the Romans, you know, in the Bible they have a rule, 39 save, you know, save or 40 save one, where they can't hit you over 40 times.

46:18.580 --> 46:27.580
So they would actually not even get to 40. So it would be, you know, 39 lashes is the most they could give someone because they didn't want to accidentally go past that, right?

46:27.580 --> 46:33.580
So, but the Romans didn't have that rule. It's not like everybody in the world had that rule just because the Jews had that rule.

46:33.580 --> 46:39.580
That's God's rule. So who knows how many times they actually hit him. We don't really know. The Bible doesn't say.

46:39.580 --> 46:44.580
So, but just because, like I said, just because the Jews had that rule, it doesn't mean that they enforced that rule upon him.

46:45.580 --> 46:52.580
So a lot of times people will say, I've heard people preach this, that, you know, they hit him 39 times or whatever. We don't know that.

46:52.580 --> 46:55.580
It could have been more. It could have been less. We don't really know.

46:55.580 --> 47:05.580
But what we do know is that when the Bible says scourged, it means whipped severely. It's not just some regular, you know, whipping.

47:05.580 --> 47:12.580
And it's with, you know, a leather whip. So, but, you know, in movies, it'll like the passion of the Christ.

47:12.580 --> 47:17.580
It's like they have bones and like pieces of metal attached to it or cat of nine tails or whatever.

47:17.580 --> 47:22.580
It doesn't say that in the Bible. So we don't really know whether that's true or not.

47:22.580 --> 47:27.580
But we do know that he was whipped. So which is bad enough.

47:27.580 --> 47:34.580
And it is going to it's going to cut to the you know, the Bible says by his stripes, we are healed in Isaiah chapter 53 verse five.

47:34.580 --> 47:37.580
It says, but he was wounded for our transgressions.

47:37.580 --> 47:42.580
So whatever beating he got was considered wounded.

47:42.580 --> 47:46.580
And it says he was bruised for our iniquities.

47:46.580 --> 47:52.580
And the chastisement of our peace was upon him. So chastisement means punishment.

47:52.580 --> 47:59.580
So basically he got chastised so that we could have peace with God.

47:59.580 --> 48:05.580
All right. And it says and with his stripes, we are healed.

48:05.580 --> 48:10.580
So we know that this that when he was whipped, stripes happen.

48:10.580 --> 48:17.580
And what it's talking about is when a whip hits you like that, it's going to cause a bloody stripe to go across to you.

48:17.580 --> 48:20.580
It's going to cut open your skin and cause you to bleed.

48:20.580 --> 48:22.580
This is what it's talking about.

48:22.580 --> 48:26.580
And in John 19 verse two, it says, and the soldiers platted.

48:26.580 --> 48:31.580
That means to braid a crown of thorns and put it on his head.

48:31.580 --> 48:34.580
And they put on him a purple robe.

48:34.580 --> 48:36.580
Why are they doing this?

48:36.580 --> 48:42.580
They're doing this to mock Jesus because he you know, he's being called the king of the Jews.

48:42.580 --> 48:47.580
When he came into Jerusalem that you know, earlier that week, how did he come in?

48:47.580 --> 48:49.580
People were saying, Hosanna in the highest.

48:49.580 --> 48:52.580
They were calling him the son of David.

48:52.580 --> 48:55.580
They were saying that he is the king of Israel.

48:55.580 --> 49:01.580
And the Jews accusation against him is that he's saying he's the son of God, that he is the king of Israel.

49:01.580 --> 49:04.580
And basically they're pitting.

49:04.580 --> 49:07.580
They're pitting that against, you know, because Caesar is king.

49:07.580 --> 49:09.580
Caesar is the one that rules the world.

49:09.580 --> 49:11.580
And Pilate works for Caesar.

49:11.580 --> 49:14.580
He's a governor of Rome.

49:14.580 --> 49:21.580
And so anybody that would say they're a king, they're directly challenging Caesar and they would be put to death for this.

49:21.580 --> 49:23.580
So this is their angle.

49:23.580 --> 49:27.580
The Jews angle is to try to get Jesus killed by any means necessary.

49:27.580 --> 49:32.580
And they'll employ this tactic later on here as we go through the chapter.

49:32.580 --> 49:39.580
But it says that they platted or braided a crown of thorns.

49:39.580 --> 49:43.580
So this isn't something they just hand wove or something.

49:43.580 --> 49:47.580
They probably had to have some instruments or tools in order to do this.

49:47.580 --> 49:51.580
And thorns that grow out in the desert like that are pretty gnarly and rough.

49:51.580 --> 49:57.580
And a lot of the things that grow in the desert in Israel grow in the deserts in Arizona.

49:57.580 --> 50:00.580
So if you've seen thorns in Arizona, they're probably very similar.

50:00.580 --> 50:08.580
But these ones apparently you can weave together into, you know, they weaved it into a crown of thorns.

50:08.580 --> 50:15.580
So they put this crown of thorns upon his head and it says that they put a purple robe on him.

50:15.580 --> 50:17.580
So why would they put a purple robe on him?

50:17.580 --> 50:19.580
I thought he always wore a robe.

50:19.580 --> 50:21.580
Well, no, the Bible doesn't say that.

50:21.580 --> 50:29.580
This is what people in books and pictures of Jesus, they put pictures showing him in a white robe all the time with long hair.

50:29.580 --> 50:31.580
But the Bible never says that.

50:31.580 --> 50:34.580
The Bible never says he just walked around in a bathrobe all the time or whatever.

50:34.580 --> 50:36.580
The Bible never says that.

50:36.580 --> 50:39.580
So this is the time when it says that he had a robe on.

50:39.580 --> 50:41.580
They put that robe on him.

50:41.580 --> 50:43.580
He didn't walk around with a robe on.

50:43.580 --> 50:44.580
They put that robe on him.

50:44.580 --> 50:47.580
It says he had a coat, but doesn't say he had a robe.

50:47.580 --> 50:50.580
So they're doing this to mock him and it's purple.

50:50.580 --> 50:52.580
The color is purple here, right?

50:52.580 --> 50:56.580
So because that's like would be a royal color at that time.

50:56.580 --> 51:01.580
So now turn, pull your finger here and turn to Matthew chapter 27.

51:02.580 --> 51:06.580
And I want to show you a little bit more of a picture here because that's what the Gospels do.

51:06.580 --> 51:13.580
They help us see a little more of the picture of what's going on, a different angle of the story,

51:13.580 --> 51:18.580
maybe some extra details that weren't put in to the other part of the story.

51:18.580 --> 51:22.580
So John tells us that the robe was purple.

51:22.580 --> 51:25.580
Look what it says in Matthew 27, verse number 28.

51:25.580 --> 51:31.580
The Bible says, And they stripped him and put on him a scarlet robe.

51:31.580 --> 51:34.580
So they're saying it's scarlet.

51:34.580 --> 51:35.580
What color is scarlet?

51:35.580 --> 51:36.580
Is that purple?

51:36.580 --> 51:39.580
No, it's not.

51:39.580 --> 51:40.580
It's red, isn't it?

51:40.580 --> 51:45.580
So and that's the color that would be like blood, the color of blood, right?

51:45.580 --> 51:52.580
And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head and a reed in his right hand.

51:52.580 --> 51:55.580
So what's the purpose of putting a reed in his right hand?

51:55.580 --> 51:58.580
Well, to make it appear to look like a scepter.

51:58.580 --> 52:03.580
A scepter is something that King would use for judgment and things like that.

52:03.580 --> 52:09.580
So but instead they put a reed in his hand and they bowed the knee before him and mocked him saying,

52:09.580 --> 52:11.580
Hail, King of the Jews.

52:11.580 --> 52:16.580
And they spit upon him and took the reed and smote him on the head.

52:16.580 --> 52:20.580
So just a little more detail here.

52:20.580 --> 52:23.580
So it didn't tell us about the reed in his hand and John.

52:23.580 --> 52:26.580
It didn't tell us about it being scarlet.

52:26.580 --> 52:29.580
So is this a contradiction in the Bible?

52:29.580 --> 52:31.580
People would say, well, it's a contradiction.

52:31.580 --> 52:35.580
One says purple and the other one says it's red or it's scarlet.

52:35.580 --> 52:41.580
And then you have the reed in his hand and the Bible says, I'm going to explain that here in just a minute.

52:41.580 --> 52:44.580
But the Bible says that they took that reed.

52:44.580 --> 52:48.580
First, they spit on him, which is disgusting, by the way, just to have to.

52:48.580 --> 52:51.580
I mean, they've been spitting on him all night, by the way.

52:51.580 --> 52:54.580
And then these guys, the soldiers are spitting on him.

52:54.580 --> 52:58.580
And then they take this reed out of his hand that they were mocking him and bowing down and saying,

52:58.580 --> 53:00.580
Oh, Hail, King of the Jews.

53:00.580 --> 53:02.580
They're making fun of him.

53:02.580 --> 53:06.580
And then they, you know, and as a matter of fact, they just got done whipping him.

53:06.580 --> 53:08.580
So he's got all these lashes all over him.

53:08.580 --> 53:11.580
And they put a they take his clothes off again.

53:11.580 --> 53:15.580
They put a robe over him, which I'm sure doesn't doesn't feel good.

53:15.580 --> 53:18.580
And then they take that reed and they smash him on the head.

53:18.580 --> 53:20.580
What's up? What else is on his head at this point?

53:20.580 --> 53:22.580
A crown of thorns.

53:22.580 --> 53:30.580
So they're smashing the crown of thorns even further into his head, which is causing him to probably bleed even more profusely.

53:30.580 --> 53:34.580
Because the thing about head wounds is head wounds bleed more than any other wounds.

53:34.580 --> 53:42.580
Anybody that's ever been in a fight or just had a cut your head or a dog bit your whatever, it like always seems worse than it really is.

53:43.580 --> 53:50.580
If you ever had like just a nick or something like a or even a you cut yourself shaving guys like it just bleeds and bleeds.

53:50.580 --> 53:55.580
And you're like, well, I can't believe all this blood is, you know, or a kid, they, you know, they'll hit their head on something.

53:55.580 --> 53:57.580
Then it's like, wow, look at all that blood.

53:57.580 --> 54:00.580
It's just like just a little tiny like Nick or something.

54:00.580 --> 54:02.580
You know, you can you'll bleed a lot from a head wound.

54:02.580 --> 54:07.580
But imagine having a crown of thorns smashed onto your head with a read.

54:07.580 --> 54:12.580
His face is, I mean, he's probably just a bloody soaking wet mess.

54:12.580 --> 54:23.580
And then not only that, but he also has blood all over him from the whipping that he took because every stripe, no doubt, cut him and made him bleed because it says his stripes.

54:23.580 --> 54:26.580
And those stripes were bloody stripes.

54:26.580 --> 54:33.580
So they did this now back to John 19, three, it says and said, Hail, King of the Jews.

54:33.580 --> 54:35.580
And they smote him with their hands.

54:35.580 --> 54:36.580
They're spitting on him.

54:36.580 --> 54:38.580
They hit him with the reed.

54:38.580 --> 54:40.580
They smash the crown of thorns on his head.

54:40.580 --> 54:43.580
And then they're they're hitting him with their hands or punching him.

54:43.580 --> 54:45.580
They're slapping him probably.

54:45.580 --> 54:54.580
And it says, pilot therefore went forth again and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you that you may know that I find no fault in him.

54:54.580 --> 54:55.580
Here's the thing.

54:55.580 --> 54:59.580
Pilate's probably just hoping at this point because he doesn't want to kill Jesus.

54:59.580 --> 55:03.580
I mean, the Bible is really clear about this, that pilot does not want to kill him.

55:03.580 --> 55:05.580
His wife has already warned him in a dream.

55:05.580 --> 55:07.580
Don't do anything to this guy.

55:07.580 --> 55:09.580
Pilot has asked him questions.

55:09.580 --> 55:11.580
He doesn't believe he deserves to die.

55:11.580 --> 55:19.580
But he has a funny way of, you know, you know, letting an innocent man go by beating him and letting them mistreat him like this.

55:19.580 --> 55:22.580
And but what does he want to do?

55:22.580 --> 55:25.580
He wants to he wants to appease them in some way.

55:25.580 --> 55:26.580
And so how does he do that?

55:26.580 --> 55:29.580
Well, letting them beat the crap out of him, basically.

55:29.580 --> 55:40.580
And so I think that what his plan is here is he's thinking, well, if I wheel him out here and he's just covered from head to toe with blood, maybe they'll just be like, OK, this is pretty gross.

55:40.580 --> 55:43.580
You know, yeah, maybe it's maybe this is enough.

55:43.580 --> 55:58.580
But not this man, not this moment in history, not this time, because what he what pilot does not realize, I mean, I'm sure he realizes that this is something's going on that's maybe different than any other time he's had to judge somebody.

55:58.580 --> 56:05.580
But the whole power of Satan and his army and his influence is involved in this situation right now.

56:05.580 --> 56:09.580
And that's why, you know, he probably feels really uneasy about all this stuff.

56:09.580 --> 56:11.580
He doesn't want to put him to death.

56:11.580 --> 56:12.580
And he's afraid.

56:12.580 --> 56:19.580
He's afraid for a good reason, because, you know, there's a lot of things hinging on his decisions right here.

56:19.580 --> 56:28.580
So he's so I mean, I believe that the devil's, you know, it might not be saying like the devil pushed him to do this and do that.

56:28.580 --> 56:38.580
But it's obvious that the devil and his agents of evil are surrounding this because the psalm tells us that the psalm says the bulls of Bayshan are surrounding him.

56:38.580 --> 56:41.580
It says the dogs have encompassed him round about.

56:41.580 --> 56:46.580
And, you know, the Bible is very clear that the devil is influencing this situation.

56:46.580 --> 56:56.580
John 19 five says, Then came Jesus forth wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe and Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man.

56:56.580 --> 57:05.580
So he wheels Jesus out basically after saying this to them and he showed he just like shows Jesus to everybody.

57:05.580 --> 57:08.580
Behold the man. Look at look at him.

57:08.580 --> 57:12.580
And he's wearing what the purple robe.

57:12.580 --> 57:14.580
So, again, was it purple?

57:14.580 --> 57:15.580
Was it red?

57:15.580 --> 57:17.580
I believe it was both.

57:17.580 --> 57:19.580
I think it was both colors.

57:19.580 --> 57:30.580
And I believe that the colors that the high priests were supposed to wear in the Old Testament are are this is like kind of prophecy fulfilled.

57:30.580 --> 57:34.580
Jesus, of course, becomes the high priest forever after the order Melchizedek.

57:34.580 --> 57:37.580
He ever liveth to make intercession for us.

57:37.580 --> 57:44.580
And I believe that the reason why the priest had to wear certain garments is to match what Jesus looked like.

57:44.580 --> 57:52.580
Not only was he wearing a purple robe and a scarlet robe, but he was also bloody from head to toe and bruised from head to toe.

57:52.580 --> 57:57.580
And, you know, it matches the color scheme that they were supposed to wear in the Old Testament.

57:57.580 --> 57:59.580
And it said it was for beauty.

57:59.580 --> 58:01.580
The Bible says turn to Exodus chapter 28.

58:01.580 --> 58:04.580
So it says it was for beauty, right?

58:04.580 --> 58:06.580
But you're like, well, what's beautiful about this?

58:06.580 --> 58:08.580
Everything's beautiful about this.

58:08.580 --> 58:14.580
Because without without this bloody mess of a man, we would not be able to be saved.

58:14.580 --> 58:17.580
We would be lost and going to hell and dying in our sins.

58:17.580 --> 58:27.580
And when God obviously God was had to turn his face from the Lord Jesus Christ, he could not look upon him because the sins of the world were upon him when he was on the cross.

58:27.580 --> 58:30.580
But really what he was doing was a beautiful thing for us.

58:30.580 --> 58:35.580
And so, yeah, you know, to the world, it's ugly to the world.

58:35.580 --> 58:37.580
You know, someone being a bloody mess is ugly.

58:37.580 --> 58:39.580
But to us, it's precious to us.

58:39.580 --> 58:43.580
It's beautiful because it saved us from our sins.

58:43.580 --> 58:46.580
Look at Exodus chapter number 28 verse 29.

58:46.580 --> 58:53.580
The Bible says an Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the blessed the breastplate of judgment upon his heart.

58:53.580 --> 59:05.580
And upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place for a memorial before the Lord continually, you see the Lord Jesus Christ does that for us continually forever after the order of Melchizedek.

59:05.580 --> 59:08.580
And he bears what the judgment in his heart.

59:08.580 --> 59:18.580
So and it says, and thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment, the Urim and the Thumim, and they shall be upon Aaron's heart.

59:18.580 --> 59:31.580
When he goeth in before the Lord, and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before the Lord continually, and thou shalt make the robe of the ephod all of blue.

59:31.580 --> 59:38.580
And there shall be and hole in the top of it in the midst thereof, it shall have a binding of woven work round about the whole of it.

59:38.580 --> 59:43.580
And as it were the whole of the Habedron, that it be not rent.

59:43.580 --> 01:00:03.580
And beneath upon the hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue and of purple and of scarlet round about the hem thereof and bells of gold between them round about a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate upon the hem of the robe round about.

01:00:03.580 --> 01:00:14.580
And it shall be upon Aaron to minister and his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the Lord and when he cometh out that he die not.

01:00:14.580 --> 01:00:22.580
And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold and engrave upon it like the engravings of a signet holiness to the Lord.

01:00:22.580 --> 01:00:29.580
And thou shalt put it on a blue lace that it may be upon the miter upon the forefront of the miter it shall be.

01:00:29.580 --> 01:00:41.580
And it shall be upon Aaron's forehead that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things which the children of Israel shall hollow in all their holy gifts and it shall be always upon his forehead that they may be accepted before the Lord.

01:00:41.580 --> 01:00:46.580
So Aaron is supposed to wear this crown, this miter is what they're calling it.

01:00:46.580 --> 01:00:49.580
But what is Jesus wearing when he appears before the people?

01:00:49.580 --> 01:00:52.580
He's wearing a crown of thorns, isn't he?

01:00:52.580 --> 01:01:02.580
So, I mean, obviously here they're supposed to be wearing this for beauty but again I think that this is a picture of the beauty of what actually Jesus is doing for everybody.

01:01:02.580 --> 01:01:11.580
It's ugly. What he's doing is it's ugly to most people but it really is in reality a beautiful thing that he's doing.

01:01:11.580 --> 01:01:16.580
And so I think when you think of it on a spiritual level it is a beautiful thing.

01:01:16.580 --> 01:01:40.580
And it says, And thou shalt embroider the coat of fine linen, thou shalt make the miter of fine linen, thou shalt make the girdle of needlework, and for Aaron's sons thou shalt make coats, thou shalt make for them girdles and bonds, thou shalt make for them for glory and for beauty, and thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother and his sons with him and shall anoint them and to consecrate them and sanctify them that they may minister unto me in the priest's office.

01:01:40.580 --> 01:01:48.580
So, I mean, they had to have what colors? What were the colors? Blue, purple, and scarlet. Why is that?

01:01:48.580 --> 01:01:55.580
Well, because Jesus was black and blue and scarlet, I mean, not black, but he was blue, red, and purple.

01:01:55.580 --> 01:02:01.580
Because that's what color bruises are, people. I mean, if you've ever had bruises in your life you know exactly what they look like.

01:02:01.580 --> 01:02:14.580
And not only was he literally scarlet because of the blood, but also he's literally wearing, when he's appearing before the people, he's wearing the same colors as the high priest is supposed to be wearing.

01:02:14.580 --> 01:02:22.580
I mean, and it's a robe. He's wearing a robe. So, you know, people would say that's a contradiction.

01:02:22.580 --> 01:02:29.580
Well, no, I think it's just both colors. I think one guy is saying it's purple, one guy is saying it's scarlet, but I think it probably has both colors in it.

01:02:29.580 --> 01:02:34.580
I think there's just no doubt that that's the truth because that's what the Bible says, and I believe the Bible.

01:02:34.580 --> 01:02:44.580
So, John chapter 19 verse 6, When the chief priest therefore an officer saw him, they cried out saying, Crucify him, crucify him!

01:02:44.580 --> 01:02:49.580
Pilate saith unto them, Take him and crucify him, for I find no fault in him.

01:02:49.580 --> 01:02:55.580
The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

01:02:55.580 --> 01:03:01.580
Well, first of all, he didn't make himself the Son of God. He just is the Son of God. He always has been the Son of God.

01:03:01.580 --> 01:03:11.580
And, you know, it just is what it is. He is the Son of God. So they can say whatever they want about their law, but he proved that he was the Son of God multiple times in front of them.

01:03:11.580 --> 01:03:24.580
They just don't want to admit that he is. And, you know, this book, the book of John, I mean, I don't know if you remember when I was talking about in the book of Revelation how the beasts match the different gods.

01:03:24.580 --> 01:03:32.580
And which one is John? Which one is the gospel of John? What beast does he match in Revelation? It's the eagle, right?

01:03:32.580 --> 01:03:37.580
And it's because Jesus didn't come from this world. He came from above.

01:03:37.580 --> 01:03:46.580
And I'm going to, when I preach about Revelation again, I'm going to kind of share a little bit more that I've studied about that whole situation.

01:03:46.580 --> 01:03:50.580
But I can't get into it for now. But Jesus is not from this world.

01:03:51.580 --> 01:04:01.580
And I think that the perspective of John here is it's trying to show us a little more of the fact that Jesus is not of this world.

01:04:01.580 --> 01:04:06.580
And this is how it kind of focuses on this conversation between him and Pilate.

01:04:06.580 --> 01:04:11.580
Because Pilate asked him some pretty interesting questions right here.

01:04:11.580 --> 01:04:16.580
It says, The Jews answered him, We have a law. And by our law he ought to die because he made himself the Son of God.

01:04:16.580 --> 01:04:20.580
When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid.

01:04:20.580 --> 01:04:24.580
Why do you think he was afraid? Because he probably knew it was true.

01:04:24.580 --> 01:04:29.580
He's probably like, What? He says he's the Son of God.

01:04:29.580 --> 01:04:36.580
And then he, what? What's he do? And went out again unto the judgment hall and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou?

01:04:36.580 --> 01:04:39.580
What does that mean? Where are you from?

01:04:40.580 --> 01:04:46.580
And then, but Jesus gave him no answer. He just like, just doesn't say a word.

01:04:46.580 --> 01:04:50.580
Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me?

01:04:50.580 --> 01:04:55.580
Knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and I have power to release thee?

01:04:55.580 --> 01:05:02.580
Jesus answered, Thou couldst have no power at all against me, except that were given thee from above.

01:05:02.580 --> 01:05:06.580
Therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

01:05:06.580 --> 01:05:15.580
So I mean he's basically answering him by telling him, The power you have, only God allows you to have that power against me.

01:05:15.580 --> 01:05:21.580
And so he's kind of answering him in the way that, You want to know where I'm from? It's up there.

01:05:21.580 --> 01:05:30.580
So again, kind of matching that narrative about him, about that gospel being that beast, that eagle or whatever.

01:05:30.580 --> 01:05:35.580
So anyway, and basically the whole theme of the book of John is that he's not just a man.

01:05:35.580 --> 01:05:42.580
He is God. He is God manifest in the flesh. In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God and the Word was God.

01:05:42.580 --> 01:05:48.580
So that is what the Bible teaches. That is what the book of John teaches all throughout it.

01:05:48.580 --> 01:05:54.580
So turn to Matthew chapter 23. And there's, in that last verse it says,

01:05:54.580 --> 01:06:01.580
He that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

01:06:01.580 --> 01:06:09.580
And look, there's this teaching out there that all sin is equal, which is just a bunch of baloney. It's not true.

01:06:09.580 --> 01:06:18.580
And obviously it's true that all sin would get you into hell if you commit one sin. You're worthy of death. You're worthy of hell.

01:06:18.580 --> 01:06:24.580
There's no doubt about that. So if you stole a pencil and that's the only sin you ever committed your whole life, you would still go to hell for that.

01:06:24.580 --> 01:06:31.580
And people have a hard time swallowing that, but the Bible says thou shalt not steal. Stealing is a sin. It's one of the Ten Commandments.

01:06:31.580 --> 01:06:38.580
You would go to hell for that. But really, why do people actually go to hell now? Why would people go to hell?

01:06:38.580 --> 01:06:45.580
Is it because of their sin or is it because they don't believe? Because the Bible actually says, Whosoever believeth in him,

01:06:45.580 --> 01:06:51.580
should not perish but have everlasting life. There's two types of people in this world. People that believe and people that believe not.

01:06:51.580 --> 01:06:59.580
If you don't believe, you go to hell. The wrath of God is already abiding on you because they have not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.

01:06:59.580 --> 01:07:05.580
That's why they go to hell. Because everybody has a choice to go to heaven or hell. It's just they make the wrong choice.

01:07:05.580 --> 01:07:10.580
They choose to not believe and they don't get saved and that's why they go to hell.

01:07:10.580 --> 01:07:19.580
But obviously our sin is what condemns us and obviously that's true. But also the fact that they just choose to not believe.

01:07:19.580 --> 01:07:29.580
Because look, God gives light to every single person on this planet. People know, they do know that Jesus is real.

01:07:29.580 --> 01:07:34.580
They know he's true or at least they have some kind of light that would lead them in the right way.

01:07:34.580 --> 01:07:41.580
Here in Matthew 23 verse 14 it says, Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, for you devour widows' houses and for a pretense,

01:07:41.580 --> 01:07:52.580
which means they're pretending, make long prayer. And everybody's been in that old live bee church or that church where the pastor at the end of a long service with 15 stanzas of just as I am.

01:07:52.580 --> 01:07:59.580
Then they call on the person who makes the longest prayers in the whole church, right? Who's been there before? Okay.

01:07:59.580 --> 01:08:05.580
It's like, come on man, the food's getting cold. You know, it's like, you know, we got places to go.

01:08:05.580 --> 01:08:13.580
He's just like, you know, going back to Genesis to go in through all the books of the Bible, the, you know, closing prayer or whatever.

01:08:13.580 --> 01:08:20.580
But I mean, some people just are eloquent in their prayers like that. And it's like, you know, they, but they're pretending. Why?

01:08:20.580 --> 01:08:25.580
Because they're hypocrites. That's what the Bible is saying. Therefore, ye shall receive the greater damnation.

01:08:26.580 --> 01:08:32.580
So true hypocrisy are people that pretend to be saved and they're not really saved and they're just pretending.

01:08:32.580 --> 01:08:37.580
That's that's the worst kind of hypocrite. So what does it say? They'll have greater damnation.

01:08:37.580 --> 01:08:41.580
So are there varying degrees of damnation? That's what the Bible says.

01:08:41.580 --> 01:08:47.580
And Jesus said, whoever delivered me unto you has the greater sin.

01:08:47.580 --> 01:08:53.580
So that means that there's people that have bigger sins than others, right? There's greater damnation.

01:08:53.580 --> 01:08:56.580
So that means there's varying degrees of hell.

01:08:56.580 --> 01:09:04.580
And in verse 15, it says, Woe unto you, scribes, Pharisees, hypocrites, for you compass sea and land to make one proselyte.

01:09:04.580 --> 01:09:09.580
And when he is made, you make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

01:09:09.580 --> 01:09:15.580
So it's possible to be a double bigger heretic than somebody else. Somebody that's worse than you.

01:09:16.580 --> 01:09:21.580
So like he's saying that you're making a false another false prophet just like you.

01:09:21.580 --> 01:09:25.580
But except for he's double as bad as you are.

01:09:25.580 --> 01:09:30.580
So it's possible it's possible to be a worse heretic than somebody else.

01:09:30.580 --> 01:09:35.580
I mean, now look at Deuteronomy, Chapter 32, Deuteronomy, Chapter 32.

01:09:40.580 --> 01:09:44.580
So I this is just a puppy that I had to kick on the way to the next point.

01:09:44.580 --> 01:09:50.580
But anyway, I mean, I just sometimes people just get this idea that, you know, and they're like, all sin is equal.

01:09:50.580 --> 01:09:53.580
You know, this kind of nonsense is just not true.

01:09:53.580 --> 01:10:06.580
Deuteronomy, 32, verse 22, it says, For a fire is kindled in my anger and shall burn unto the lowest hell and shall consume the earth with her increase and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

01:10:06.580 --> 01:10:09.580
I will heap mischiefs upon them. I will spend mine arrows upon them.

01:10:09.580 --> 01:10:15.580
So this is talking about God is being super angry about something, but he says it shall burn to the lowest hell.

01:10:15.580 --> 01:10:18.580
So if there's a lowest hell, what does that also mean?

01:10:18.580 --> 01:10:28.580
By deduction, there's a higher hell, a hell that's not quite as hot, a hell that's not as I mean, all hell is bad, right?

01:10:28.580 --> 01:10:31.580
All hell is a place we would not want to go to.

01:10:31.580 --> 01:10:37.580
But that also just means that there's not the lowest hell is the hottest place, the worst one.

01:10:37.580 --> 01:10:42.580
So that means that the highest one is not as bad as the lowest one, but it's still bad, right?

01:10:42.580 --> 01:10:44.580
I mean, nobody wants to even go to the highest hell.

01:10:44.580 --> 01:10:47.580
But just saying that there's different degrees.

01:10:47.580 --> 01:11:01.580
So and then Psalm 86 and we'll get back to the to the text after this, but Psalm 86, verse 13 says, For great is thy mercy toward me and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

01:11:01.580 --> 01:11:05.580
So and I believe this is a prophetic verse about the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:11:05.580 --> 01:11:17.580
I believe that he actually did go to the lowest hell because he had all the sins of the whole world, past, present and future on his account when he went to hell for three days and three nights.

01:11:17.580 --> 01:11:30.580
And, you know, so if that's true, Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, every rapist, every homo, every single wicked person that said any wicked thing, just the worst of the worst.

01:11:30.580 --> 01:11:34.580
All I mean, did Jesus die for the sins of the whole world?

01:11:34.580 --> 01:11:35.580
Yes, he did.

01:11:35.580 --> 01:11:41.580
So that would make sense then that he has to go to the lowest hell be punished for three days and three nights.

01:11:41.580 --> 01:11:42.580
His soul.

01:11:42.580 --> 01:11:44.580
OK, doesn't mean he deserved to go there.

01:11:44.580 --> 01:11:47.580
It's not like he's being punished for what he did.

01:11:47.580 --> 01:11:49.580
He's being punished for what we did.

01:11:49.580 --> 01:11:52.580
That's part of the sacrifice, right?

01:11:52.580 --> 01:11:54.580
So that's why there's burnt sacrifices.

01:11:54.580 --> 01:11:56.580
It's a picture of what you have to go through.

01:11:57.580 --> 01:12:01.580
So anyway, so all sin is not equal.

01:12:01.580 --> 01:12:02.580
All punishment is not equal.

01:12:02.580 --> 01:12:04.580
All rewards are not equal.

01:12:04.580 --> 01:12:08.580
So when we get to heaven, is everybody going to have the same reward?

01:12:08.580 --> 01:12:15.580
No, we're not, because some people do more and God rewards us based upon who does more.

01:12:15.580 --> 01:12:16.580
It's just that simple.

01:12:16.580 --> 01:12:20.580
So obviously we all get the baseline reward of everlasting life.

01:12:20.580 --> 01:12:24.580
And then based upon what you do here on this earth, you get rewarded for that.

01:12:24.580 --> 01:12:29.580
So but really, you know, our ways are not equal.

01:12:29.580 --> 01:12:34.580
And we like to say some people like to say, well, God is not equal in the way he does things.

01:12:34.580 --> 01:12:35.580
But that's not true.

01:12:35.580 --> 01:12:37.580
God is always equal in the way he does things.

01:12:37.580 --> 01:12:39.580
It's we that are not equal in our ways.

01:12:39.580 --> 01:12:47.580
So back to John 19, verse number 12, it says, And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him.

01:12:47.580 --> 01:12:54.580
But the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend.

01:12:54.580 --> 01:12:58.580
Whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.

01:12:58.580 --> 01:13:01.580
So they know the rules of the game real well here, don't they?

01:13:01.580 --> 01:13:03.580
They know how to play politics.

01:13:03.580 --> 01:13:05.580
They know how to play the pressure game.

01:13:05.580 --> 01:13:08.580
And look, the Jews still do this stuff today.

01:13:08.580 --> 01:13:11.580
This is how they operate.

01:13:11.580 --> 01:13:13.580
They get people to do things for them.

01:13:13.580 --> 01:13:14.580
They don't do it themselves.

01:13:14.580 --> 01:13:16.580
They're very good at it.

01:13:16.580 --> 01:13:19.580
And so they're still doing these things today.

01:13:19.580 --> 01:13:24.580
They're still getting other people to do their dirty work, just like they got us the bomb I ran for them.

01:13:24.580 --> 01:13:27.580
I mean, and now we're in another war.

01:13:27.580 --> 01:13:28.580
Thanks.

01:13:28.580 --> 01:13:31.580
So and what were they doing to us exactly?

01:13:31.580 --> 01:13:35.580
Oh, there's some people protesting.

01:13:35.580 --> 01:13:37.580
I mean, I guess we're just the world police now.

01:13:37.580 --> 01:13:40.580
We have to jump into every now our gas prices are going up.

01:13:40.580 --> 01:13:41.580
Thanks.

01:13:41.580 --> 01:13:44.580
I mean, not that I don't care about people innocently being killed.

01:13:44.580 --> 01:13:45.580
I do.

01:13:45.580 --> 01:13:53.580
But I mean, it's just hard to know what's really going on because we just get fed a newsfeed that they like to tell us what's going on.

01:13:53.580 --> 01:13:56.580
And who knows what's really true and what's not sometimes.

01:13:56.580 --> 01:14:02.580
But all I know is that I don't want our country to be in another war and I don't want to fight battles for Israel.

01:14:02.580 --> 01:14:07.580
So I mean, Donald Trump kind of ran on the thing.

01:14:07.580 --> 01:14:09.580
I haven't gotten into any wars.

01:14:09.580 --> 01:14:10.580
And here we are.

01:14:10.580 --> 01:14:15.580
So but that's what they're good at.

01:14:15.580 --> 01:14:20.580
They're good at getting people to fight and they're good at manipulating people.

01:14:20.580 --> 01:14:22.580
They're this is what they did.

01:14:22.580 --> 01:14:24.580
They manipulated pilot by doing what?

01:14:24.580 --> 01:14:26.580
Playing on his biggest fear.

01:14:26.580 --> 01:14:28.580
What is his biggest fear?

01:14:28.580 --> 01:14:35.580
That Caesar is going to fire him or kill him because Jesus was being called the king of the Jews.

01:14:35.580 --> 01:14:37.580
And that's why he's like, hey, you're not a friend of Caesar.

01:14:37.580 --> 01:14:40.580
If you just let this guy go, you have to kill him.

01:14:40.580 --> 01:14:42.580
They've been plotting this for a while.

01:14:42.580 --> 01:14:47.580
This goes back earlier into other chapters that someone has to die for the people.

01:14:47.580 --> 01:14:50.580
And this is a plot that they've done.

01:14:50.580 --> 01:14:51.580
This is a Jewish plot.

01:14:51.580 --> 01:14:55.580
I know that people are like, oh, everybody's always saying this Jewish plot.

01:14:55.580 --> 01:14:57.580
They plot.

01:14:57.580 --> 01:14:59.580
It's a fact.

01:14:59.580 --> 01:15:00.580
They plot.

01:15:00.580 --> 01:15:01.580
They scheme.

01:15:01.580 --> 01:15:03.580
They've done it throughout history.

01:15:03.580 --> 01:15:06.580
They've been kicked out of every country in the world.

01:15:06.580 --> 01:15:10.580
England kicked them out and then they let them back in like dummies.

01:15:10.580 --> 01:15:17.580
I mean, sometimes I think that Cromwell just killed the king so he could bring the Jews back or something.

01:15:17.580 --> 01:15:21.580
I don't know what the deal is, but they're definitely not leaving again.

01:15:21.580 --> 01:15:25.580
So anyway, moving on here.

01:15:25.580 --> 01:15:29.580
So yeah, Pilate's a weak leader, though, and he's just afraid to do the right thing.

01:15:29.580 --> 01:15:34.580
And this is the thing that they say when they say this and there's no turning back after this.

01:15:34.580 --> 01:15:37.580
Pilate just lets them have them.

01:15:37.580 --> 01:15:46.580
So when Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the pavement, but in the Hebrew,

01:15:46.580 --> 01:15:53.580
Gabatha, and it was the preparation of the Passover and about the sixth hour.

01:15:53.580 --> 01:15:58.580
And he sat or he saith unto the Jews, Behold your king.

01:15:58.580 --> 01:16:02.580
So this is the preparation for the Passover.

01:16:02.580 --> 01:16:08.580
So this is what the 13th day of Nisan or Abib or whatever you want to call it.

01:16:08.580 --> 01:16:12.580
So this is the day before the Passover.

01:16:12.580 --> 01:16:14.580
What time does the Passover happen?

01:16:14.580 --> 01:16:20.580
It happens about six o'clock at night. It happens at dark, basically. Oh, dark 30.

01:16:20.580 --> 01:16:22.580
So they're preparing.

01:16:22.580 --> 01:16:26.580
This is the last time that they can work before the Passover is killed.

01:16:26.580 --> 01:16:29.580
And then once the Passover is killed, they have to prepare the Passover.

01:16:29.580 --> 01:16:34.580
They have to, you know, they're all preparing their tables and wherever they're going to eat the Passover at.

01:16:34.580 --> 01:16:40.580
And once it becomes dark, they can't do anything, any other servile work at all.

01:16:40.580 --> 01:16:42.580
The only thing they can do is eat. That's it.

01:16:42.580 --> 01:16:44.580
They can't do anything else.

01:16:44.580 --> 01:16:53.580
And then they have to rest for three days because of these high days that are about to come upon them, which, of course, is planned because this is the day,

01:16:53.580 --> 01:17:00.580
the three days and three nights that Jesus Christ is going to be in the grave working, you know, our salvation.

01:17:00.580 --> 01:17:09.580
So now let's see. Where am I at here?

01:17:09.580 --> 01:17:15.580
So. So, yeah.

01:17:15.580 --> 01:17:19.580
So so basically it says it's the sixth hour.

01:17:19.580 --> 01:17:29.580
So I just want I mean, you might not understand this, but the synoptic gospels have a way that they keep time the way they keep time is the Jewish way of keeping time,

01:17:29.580 --> 01:17:33.580
which it's evening and morning is a day.

01:17:33.580 --> 01:17:39.580
OK, the day starts at the evening time and goes into the morning.

01:17:39.580 --> 01:17:48.580
OK, and then John's way of keeping time in the end, this is the only book that does this in the gospels.

01:17:48.580 --> 01:17:53.580
He keeps time the way we keep time. So we kind of keep Roman time also.

01:17:53.580 --> 01:18:01.580
But he's keeping Roman time. I mean, he's this anti-Jewish, I guess, that he just just says, I'm not keeping Jewish time in this book or whatever.

01:18:01.580 --> 01:18:05.580
So he keeps time like we do. What time is zero?

01:18:05.580 --> 01:18:10.580
Like basically what time is zero time for us?

01:18:10.580 --> 01:18:13.580
Midnight, right? 12 a.m.

01:18:13.580 --> 01:18:18.580
So if this is the sixth hour, what time is it?

01:18:18.580 --> 01:18:23.580
Six a.m. Right. But this isn't saying that they crucified him at six a.m.

01:18:23.580 --> 01:18:27.580
This is just saying that he let them take him at six a.m.

01:18:27.580 --> 01:18:30.580
So he sent him off to be crucified at six a.m.

01:18:30.580 --> 01:18:36.580
But that doesn't mean that's what time he got crucified because the Bible actually says what time he got crucified in Mark, Chapter 15.

01:18:36.580 --> 01:18:43.580
So let's look at the timeline here of the crucifixion because this, you know, because people get confused about this.

01:18:43.580 --> 01:18:47.580
They go, it's a contradiction because Luke says this and Mark says this and John says this.

01:18:47.580 --> 01:18:53.580
It's not a contradiction. It's just the synoptic gospels, which are Matthew, Mark and Luke, keep the Jewish time.

01:18:53.580 --> 01:18:58.580
John keeps the Roman time. So it's not super hard to figure out.

01:18:58.580 --> 01:19:04.580
But Mark, Chapter 15, verse 25 says, And it was the third hour and they crucified him.

01:19:04.580 --> 01:19:11.580
So the Jews keep time from so at six a.m. would be the first hour.

01:19:11.580 --> 01:19:17.580
OK, so if it's the third hour, what time is it that they crucify him?

01:19:17.580 --> 01:19:19.580
Nine o'clock in the morning. All right.

01:19:19.580 --> 01:19:28.580
So Matthew, 27, verse 45 says, Now the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

01:19:28.580 --> 01:19:34.580
So from the sixth hour to the ninth hour. So Jesus is crucified at nine a.m.

01:19:34.580 --> 01:19:39.580
The sixth hour there's darkness over all the land. What time is the sixth hour?

01:19:39.580 --> 01:19:45.580
Twelve o'clock, right? Noon. And then to the ninth hour, which is three o'clock in the afternoon.

01:19:45.580 --> 01:19:50.580
So Jesus crucified at nine o'clock at three o'clock.

01:19:50.580 --> 01:19:55.580
He so he's on the cross from from nine o'clock in the morning till three o'clock in the afternoon.

01:19:55.580 --> 01:20:04.580
That's a long time. But so I'll pick up reading here at Matthew, 27, verse 46, it says, And about the ninth hour.

01:20:04.580 --> 01:20:13.580
Jesus cried with the law with a loud voice saying, Eli, Eli, Lama Sabachthani, that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

01:20:13.580 --> 01:20:25.580
Some of them that stood there when they heard that said this, this man called for Elias and straightway one of them ran and took a sponge and filled it with vinegar and put it on a read and gave it gave him to drink.

01:20:25.580 --> 01:20:30.580
And the rest said, Let be let us see whether Elias will come for him to save him.

01:20:30.580 --> 01:20:35.580
Jesus then when he cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

01:20:35.580 --> 01:20:39.580
So when did he die? Around three o'clock in the afternoon.

01:20:39.580 --> 01:20:49.580
So this is the preparation day. So really, he kind of died at the at the right time for him to be able to they still had time to take him off the cross.

01:20:49.580 --> 01:20:57.580
They still had time to wrap him up in the linen and to bury him in the tomb before the Passover.

01:20:57.580 --> 01:21:03.580
And that's why they had to hurry up and do it really quickly, because the Passover was at hand.

01:21:03.580 --> 01:21:14.580
And so I mean, we had this guy that went to our church, Josh Tap, and he was trying to convince people that the time was like a different time.

01:21:14.580 --> 01:21:18.580
But the master's couldn't add up.

01:21:18.580 --> 01:21:26.580
You know, he was like trying to say that the day started at the right time of the day and that it was just these holidays that were a different time.

01:21:26.580 --> 01:21:36.580
But it just it couldn't make sense, the timeline, because it just it wasn't just was not jiving at all with the timeline of the whole week before.

01:21:36.580 --> 01:21:41.580
I was just like sitting there trying to figure it all out. But just there's just no way it could work out.

01:21:41.580 --> 01:21:46.580
But I mean, I had to stop him from going to preach a sermon in Seattle about it.

01:21:46.580 --> 01:21:55.580
It would have just made our church look like we're a bunch of retards or something, because he was going to say that that the Sabbath day was not on Saturday.

01:21:55.580 --> 01:22:03.580
That everybody that worships us or does the Sabbath day still today, like the Jews and the Seventh-day Adventists, we're doing it on the wrong time.

01:22:03.580 --> 01:22:11.580
And I just went, no, because the Sabbath day, they are supposed to do it from the evening in the morning.

01:22:11.580 --> 01:22:16.580
So, yeah, anyway, so I'm glad we dodged the bullet on that one.

01:22:16.580 --> 01:22:19.580
I'm glad I found out before he preached it.

01:22:19.580 --> 01:22:24.580
But it's just like stuff like that, that like, I mean, it can just make our church look really bad.

01:22:24.580 --> 01:22:31.580
And so I'm glad I caught that before that happened. But there's other things that he was teaching that were weird, too.

01:22:31.580 --> 01:22:35.580
I don't really like to talk about him too much because I just don't want to give him a platform.

01:22:35.580 --> 01:22:40.580
But, yeah, he was had some real special teachings.

01:22:40.580 --> 01:22:47.580
So let's see. Moving on. Let's see the.

01:22:47.580 --> 01:22:52.580
So anyway, so Jesus dies three o'clock in the afternoon.

01:22:52.580 --> 01:22:59.580
So it's the preparation day. It's the 13th day of Nissen, which right when the Passover is supposed to be killed in the evening.

01:22:59.580 --> 01:23:07.580
And then they eat the Passover. So so when Jesus ate the Passover with his disciples, it was the day before.

01:23:07.580 --> 01:23:09.580
So he did not eat his. He did.

01:23:09.580 --> 01:23:16.580
When he said, I desire to eat this Passover with you, he didn't eat it on the day of the real Passover.

01:23:16.580 --> 01:23:19.580
Why didn't he do that? Because he is the Passover.

01:23:19.580 --> 01:23:22.580
It's kind of hard to eat the Passover when he's dead.

01:23:22.580 --> 01:23:27.580
So he basically just he did it on a different day.

01:23:27.580 --> 01:23:33.580
He had to because he is the Passover. I mean, he was literally going to be the Passover the next day.

01:23:33.580 --> 01:23:37.580
So and that was a hard thing because I'm just so black and white when it comes to stuff like that.

01:23:37.580 --> 01:23:42.580
It's hard for me to just get off. You know, well, he had to do it on this on this on the right dates.

01:23:42.580 --> 01:23:47.580
So for me to think that he would he would eat the Passover on a different day than the day he was supposed to,

01:23:47.580 --> 01:23:51.580
like just kind of like, you know, doesn't compute to me.

01:23:51.580 --> 01:23:57.580
So I really had to, you know, come to that conclusion that he just didn't do it on the day he was supposed to.

01:23:57.580 --> 01:24:00.580
So because he couldn't, though, I mean, it makes sense.

01:24:00.580 --> 01:24:07.580
John 19, 15 says, But they cried out away with him away with him, crucify him.

01:24:07.580 --> 01:24:10.580
Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your king?

01:24:10.580 --> 01:24:15.580
The chief priest answered, We have no king but Caesar.

01:24:15.580 --> 01:24:23.580
I thought about this. I was just like, This kind of comes full circle from the time of Samuel.

01:24:23.580 --> 01:24:27.580
Because we're studying that book and I know that we're going to come to this chapter,

01:24:27.580 --> 01:24:33.580
but it really does come full circle because they rejected God as their king in the book of First Samuel.

01:24:33.580 --> 01:24:36.580
Let's turn over there real quick and look at these verses.

01:24:36.580 --> 01:24:42.580
First Samuel, Chapter eight, First Samuel, Chapter eight, because Samuel Samuel's sons,

01:24:42.580 --> 01:24:47.580
they took bribes and perverted judgment. He was a great judge. He was a great prophet.

01:24:47.580 --> 01:24:53.580
He was a great a great priest and he did a great job, but his sons were not.

01:24:53.580 --> 01:24:57.580
And so this is kind of the final straw with the children of Israel.

01:24:57.580 --> 01:24:59.580
They're like, We're sick of this little pattern.

01:24:59.580 --> 01:25:04.580
And instead of just, you know, trying to figure it out and keep the system of the judges,

01:25:04.580 --> 01:25:09.580
which God put in into place, they just rebelled against God and just said,

01:25:09.580 --> 01:25:12.580
Hey, just give us a king like all the other nations have.

01:25:12.580 --> 01:25:16.580
And see, we're not supposed to be like all the other nations. This is the thing.

01:25:16.580 --> 01:25:23.580
It says, And said unto him, verse five, Behold thou art old and thy sons walk not in thy ways.

01:25:23.580 --> 01:25:27.580
Now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.

01:25:27.580 --> 01:25:29.580
So they want to be like the world.

01:25:29.580 --> 01:25:34.580
But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, Give us a king to judge us.

01:25:34.580 --> 01:25:36.580
And Samuel prayed unto the Lord.

01:25:36.580 --> 01:25:41.580
And the Lord said unto Samuel, Harken unto the voice of the people and all that they say unto thee.

01:25:41.580 --> 01:25:46.580
For they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

01:25:46.580 --> 01:25:51.580
According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt,

01:25:51.580 --> 01:25:57.580
even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.

01:25:57.580 --> 01:26:02.580
Now therefore, hearken unto their voice, how yet protest solemnly unto them,

01:26:02.580 --> 01:26:06.580
and show them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.

01:26:06.580 --> 01:26:12.580
And really, you know, it started out okay, but then, I mean, even the first king, Saul, failed them.

01:26:12.580 --> 01:26:17.580
David had his failures. Solomon, he did evil on the side of the Lord.

01:26:17.580 --> 01:26:19.580
He did good at first. He did evil on the side of the Lord.

01:26:19.580 --> 01:26:21.580
Then it was just kind of like hit or miss.

01:26:21.580 --> 01:26:23.580
I mean, the kingdom was divided.

01:26:23.580 --> 01:26:29.580
And then it ended in a complete train wreck where both Israel and Judah are taken out of the land

01:26:29.580 --> 01:26:32.580
and completely demolished. God brings them back.

01:26:32.580 --> 01:26:36.580
Same thing happens when we get to the point where Jesus is here.

01:26:36.580 --> 01:26:40.580
And who is Jesus? Jesus literally is their king.

01:26:40.580 --> 01:26:45.580
Jesus is their king. And he's also God. Right?

01:26:45.580 --> 01:26:51.580
And so here he is standing before them, a bloody mess, and they're like,

01:26:51.580 --> 01:26:53.580
we have no king but Caesar.

01:26:53.580 --> 01:26:58.580
And so the thing that they asked for in the book of Samuel was we want a king to reign over us.

01:26:58.580 --> 01:27:04.580
And then literally their king and their God is standing before them, and they reject him.

01:27:04.580 --> 01:27:07.580
He came to his own and his own received him not.

01:27:07.580 --> 01:27:11.580
And but yet, someone that comes in their own name, him they will receive.

01:27:11.580 --> 01:27:15.580
This is how wicked the nation of Israel actually is.

01:27:16.580 --> 01:27:24.580
These these supposed rulers, the Pharisees, they're not even the system that Israel was supposed to have.

01:27:24.580 --> 01:27:29.580
The Pharisees is just a system that was not even supposed to exist at the time.

01:27:29.580 --> 01:27:33.580
They sit in Moses' seat, but they're not really the system that God put in place.

01:27:33.580 --> 01:27:39.580
It's the high priest and the priests and the Levites were supposed to be the ones that were doing these things.

01:27:39.580 --> 01:27:41.580
And they were supposed to have the system of the judges.

01:27:41.580 --> 01:27:44.580
But they just kept continue to rebel and rebel and rebel.

01:27:44.580 --> 01:27:48.580
That's why God just never restored Israel as the head.

01:27:48.580 --> 01:27:49.580
They were always the tail.

01:27:49.580 --> 01:27:52.580
That's why Rome was ruling over them.

01:27:52.580 --> 01:27:54.580
That's why before them, the Greeks were ruling over them.

01:27:54.580 --> 01:27:57.580
That's why before them, the Medes and the Persians were ruling over them.

01:27:57.580 --> 01:28:00.580
That's why before them, the Babylonians were ruling over them.

01:28:00.580 --> 01:28:04.580
That's why they're not top dogs right now either.

01:28:04.580 --> 01:28:06.580
After 2000 years, they finally become a nation again.

01:28:06.580 --> 01:28:10.580
And then they need us to do all their work for them still.

01:28:10.580 --> 01:28:12.580
Because they're little harlots.

01:28:12.580 --> 01:28:14.580
They're little hoes.

01:28:14.580 --> 01:28:17.580
And they just always go after all these other gods.

01:28:17.580 --> 01:28:22.580
And like, I mean, they call them God's chosen people, but they don't even believe in God.

01:28:22.580 --> 01:28:24.580
How does that work?

01:28:24.580 --> 01:28:29.580
And then they sit there and say, we have no king but Caesar?

01:28:29.580 --> 01:28:31.580
It's wicked.

01:28:31.580 --> 01:28:34.580
No wonder why God destroyed that place.

01:28:35.580 --> 01:28:51.580
But then we got bootlickers like Phil Stringer, who's calling us wicked and putting us in categories with Adolf Hitler and all the worst types of people.

01:28:51.580 --> 01:28:54.580
And it's like, what in the world?

01:28:54.580 --> 01:28:56.580
We treated that guy like gold.

01:28:56.580 --> 01:28:58.580
We totally respected the guy.

01:28:58.580 --> 01:29:02.580
And he's just getting worse and worse, putting all these weird posts up on Facebook.

01:29:02.580 --> 01:29:08.580
Now we're Candace Owens, Adolf Hitler, Mussolini, or whatever else he's saying.

01:29:08.580 --> 01:29:11.580
It's like, what are you talking about, man?

01:29:11.580 --> 01:29:13.580
You're out of your mind.

01:29:13.580 --> 01:29:16.580
And this is what zio worshippers do.

01:29:16.580 --> 01:29:18.580
They just lick their boots.

01:29:18.580 --> 01:29:22.580
They just would love to be their Gentile slaves in the millennial reign or something.

01:29:22.580 --> 01:29:31.580
And I mean, he gets on there and he says, I'm being accused of believing in two different covenants.

01:29:31.580 --> 01:29:33.580
He said it with his own mouth.

01:29:33.580 --> 01:29:35.580
I listen to him say it.

01:29:35.580 --> 01:29:41.580
I just want to post it on his page while I'm just having that time, where he actually says, and Israel has an everlasting covenant.

01:29:41.580 --> 01:29:44.580
That's what he said.

01:29:44.580 --> 01:29:46.580
It's like, yeah, you said it, buddy.

01:29:46.580 --> 01:29:48.580
You said that they have an everlasting covenant.

01:29:48.580 --> 01:29:57.580
And I agree with that, except for the everlasting covenant is the covenant of Abraham, which became the New Testament.

01:29:57.580 --> 01:29:59.580
It was until the promised seed should come.

01:29:59.580 --> 01:30:01.580
Have you not read?

01:30:01.580 --> 01:30:03.580
Have you not read the Bible?

01:30:03.580 --> 01:30:04.580
Don't you understand?

01:30:04.580 --> 01:30:11.580
It's like they're just blinded by their worship of the Israeli flag, which is the star of Remphan, by the way.

01:30:11.580 --> 01:30:14.580
I don't get it.

01:30:14.580 --> 01:30:16.580
I mean, God just spells it out for us here.

01:30:16.580 --> 01:30:23.580
They rejected him.

01:30:23.580 --> 01:30:29.580
They have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

01:30:29.580 --> 01:30:30.580
And what did he say?

01:30:30.580 --> 01:30:40.580
In the millennial reign, he said he's going to separate the sheep from the goats, and he's going to say, bring them before me that I may slay them.

01:30:40.580 --> 01:30:46.580
I mean, those that would not have me to reign over them, bring them before me that I will enslave them before me.

01:30:46.580 --> 01:30:48.580
That's what he said.

01:30:48.580 --> 01:30:50.580
And who's he talking about?

01:30:50.580 --> 01:30:57.580
He's talking about the nation, quote unquote, of Israel, the so-called chosen people.

01:30:57.580 --> 01:30:59.580
It's ridiculous.

01:30:59.580 --> 01:31:01.580
It's so annoying.

01:31:01.580 --> 01:31:04.580
Verse 16, sorry, I went off on a side rant there.

01:31:04.580 --> 01:31:12.580
But then delivered he them, or him therefore unto them to be crucified, and they took Jesus and led him away.

01:31:12.580 --> 01:31:28.580
Verse 17, And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in Hebrew Golgotha, where they crucified him, and two other with him on either side in Jesus in the midst.

01:31:28.580 --> 01:31:35.580
And Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross, and the writing was Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.

01:31:35.580 --> 01:31:44.580
This title then read many of the Jews for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city, and it was written in Hebrew and Greek and Latin.

01:31:44.580 --> 01:31:51.580
Then said the chief priest of the Jews to Pilate, write not the King of the Jews, but that he said, I'm the King of the Jews.

01:31:51.580 --> 01:31:53.580
I mean, they even try to control what he's writing.

01:31:53.580 --> 01:31:56.580
It's like, no, dude, just shut up.

01:31:56.580 --> 01:31:58.580
It's so funny.

01:31:58.580 --> 01:32:03.580
It's like, no, don't write that he was the King of the Jews, but write that he said he was.

01:32:03.580 --> 01:32:05.580
Pilate answered, What I've written, I've written.

01:32:05.580 --> 01:32:08.580
I mean, at least he kind of stands up to him a little bit, but it's not enough.

01:32:08.580 --> 01:32:11.580
Because I mean, I believe the pilot turns into a reprobate later on.

01:32:11.580 --> 01:32:16.580
I mean, he becomes friends with Herod later on.

01:32:16.580 --> 01:32:27.580
So it says, Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts to every soldier apart and also his coat.

01:32:27.580 --> 01:32:31.580
Now, the coat was without seam woven from the top throughout.

01:32:31.580 --> 01:32:40.580
So I mean, basically every shred of dignity that he has left, all he's literally got before he's crucified is his clothes on his back.

01:32:40.580 --> 01:32:46.580
The only clothes he has, which is a nice outfit, apparently nice enough to where they don't want to divide it up.

01:32:46.580 --> 01:32:48.580
They don't want to get wrecked.

01:32:48.580 --> 01:32:50.580
So they take his they strip his clothes off.

01:32:50.580 --> 01:32:59.580
So they strip him naked and nail him to the cross and hang him up there in front of his mom, in front of his sisters, in front of his brother, in front of his disciples,

01:32:59.580 --> 01:33:03.580
in front of everybody while they gamble for his clothes.

01:33:03.580 --> 01:33:05.580
Freaking sick, man.

01:33:05.580 --> 01:33:06.580
It's disgusting.

01:33:06.580 --> 01:33:11.580
This is the type of people that they just hate him.

01:33:11.580 --> 01:33:13.580
It's wicked.

01:33:13.580 --> 01:33:18.580
Every shred of dignity just stripped from him, humiliating him in front of everybody.

01:33:18.580 --> 01:33:25.580
The Psalm says in verse 22, verse 16, I won't have you turn there, but it says, For dogs have compassed me.

01:33:25.580 --> 01:33:28.580
The assembly of the wicked have enclosed me.

01:33:28.580 --> 01:33:30.580
They pierced my hands and my feet.

01:33:30.580 --> 01:33:32.580
I may tell all all my bones.

01:33:32.580 --> 01:33:34.580
They look and stare upon me.

01:33:34.580 --> 01:33:38.580
They part my garments among them and cast lots upon my vesture.

01:33:38.580 --> 01:33:45.580
But be not thou far from me, O Lord, all my strength has the to help me.

01:33:45.580 --> 01:33:50.580
Deliver my soul from the sword, my darling, from the power of the dog.

01:33:50.580 --> 01:33:53.580
Kind of makes me think there's some sodomites hanging out there or something.

01:33:53.580 --> 01:33:58.580
But I mean, obviously this is talking about, you know, spiritual warfare at the same time.

01:33:58.580 --> 01:34:01.580
I mean, he knows who's around him.

01:34:01.580 --> 01:34:10.580
John 19, 24, they said, Therefore among themselves, let us not rend it, but cast lots for whose it shall be,

01:34:10.580 --> 01:34:17.580
that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith they parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture did they cast lots.

01:34:17.580 --> 01:34:20.580
These things therefore the soldiers did.

01:34:20.580 --> 01:34:29.580
Now they're stood by the cross of Jesus, his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary, the wife of Cleophas and Mary Magdalene.

01:34:29.580 --> 01:34:37.580
When Jesus therefore saw his mother and the disciples standing by whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son.

01:34:37.580 --> 01:34:41.580
Then saith he to his disciple, Behold thy mother.

01:34:41.580 --> 01:34:45.580
And from that hour that disciple took her into his own home.

01:34:45.580 --> 01:34:51.580
So I mean basically the last act that he does before he dies is make sure his mom is taken care of.

01:34:51.580 --> 01:34:56.580
I mean, he's a great, he's a stand-up man. Amen.

01:34:56.580 --> 01:34:58.580
Jesus takes care of his mother.

01:34:58.580 --> 01:35:00.580
Kids, take care of your mother.

01:35:00.580 --> 01:35:02.580
Be good to your mother.

01:35:02.580 --> 01:35:06.580
Take care of her.

01:35:06.580 --> 01:35:12.580
The last act he does right before he dies, he's in agony, he's been on the cross hanging there for six hours.

01:35:12.580 --> 01:35:15.580
And he just thinks about his mom.

01:35:15.580 --> 01:35:20.580
And you know sometimes Jesus would say things and you'd think he's a little gruff with his mom or whatever.

01:35:20.580 --> 01:35:22.580
But you know what? He loved her.

01:35:22.580 --> 01:35:23.580
He took care of her.

01:35:23.580 --> 01:35:25.580
He made sure she had a place to go and stay.

01:35:25.580 --> 01:35:29.580
Because his brothers apparently weren't going to take care of her or something.

01:35:29.580 --> 01:35:30.580
I don't know.

01:35:30.580 --> 01:35:34.580
His brothers ended up getting saved, but maybe he just knew they weren't going to take care of her.

01:35:34.580 --> 01:35:35.580
I don't know.

01:35:35.580 --> 01:35:38.580
But he definitely gave her a new place to dwell there.

01:35:38.580 --> 01:35:40.580
So verse 28.

01:35:40.580 --> 01:36:09.580
And this is like one of the dirtiest tricks I think that they could pull on him too.

01:36:09.580 --> 01:36:15.580
I mean vinegar is, I mean the vinegar that they're giving him is probably just looks like water.

01:36:15.580 --> 01:36:19.580
It's probably white vinegar that you could buy from the store.

01:36:19.580 --> 01:36:23.580
They put a little hyssop in it maybe to make it not smell or whatever.

01:36:23.580 --> 01:36:25.580
Like that vinegary smell.

01:36:25.580 --> 01:36:29.580
And then when he asks for water, they try to give him some vinegar.

01:36:29.580 --> 01:36:33.580
The grossest thing you could probably give somebody when they're about to take a drink of water.

01:36:33.580 --> 01:36:35.580
It's just like a trick.

01:36:35.580 --> 01:36:40.580
They're just waiting for him to say he's thirsty so they can give him some vinegar to drink.

01:36:40.580 --> 01:36:45.580
I mean they're just brutal until the end.

01:36:45.580 --> 01:36:52.580
That's why I think that it's just like all this is designed by the devil to just vex him to the very last breath in his body.

01:36:52.580 --> 01:36:54.580
It says,

01:36:54.580 --> 01:37:01.580
The Jews therefore because it was preparation, the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the Sabbath day.

01:37:01.580 --> 01:37:04.580
For the Sabbath day was a high day.

01:37:04.580 --> 01:37:08.580
Be sought, Pilate, that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away.

01:37:08.580 --> 01:37:12.580
Then came the soldiers and break the legs of the first and the other which was crucified with him.

01:37:12.580 --> 01:37:18.580
But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was dead already, they break not his legs.

01:37:18.580 --> 01:37:25.580
But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side and forthwith came there out blood and water.

01:37:25.580 --> 01:37:32.580
And he that saw it bear record, and his record is true, and he knoweth that he sayeth true, that ye might believe.

01:37:32.580 --> 01:37:38.580
For these things were done that the scripture should be fulfilled, a bone of him shall not be broken.

01:37:38.580 --> 01:37:43.580
And again another scripture sayeth, they shall look on him who they pierced.

01:37:44.580 --> 01:37:51.580
So it's really interesting here because it says that this scripture is fulfilled, but then this scripture is going to be fulfilled again.

01:37:51.580 --> 01:37:57.580
And just really quickly, I know we're, well, we haven't even been an hour yet.

01:37:57.580 --> 01:38:02.580
Quit whining. I see your faces.

01:38:02.580 --> 01:38:10.580
Revelation 1, 7 says, Behold he cometh with clouds, and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him.

01:38:10.580 --> 01:38:15.580
And all kinders of the earth shall wail because of him, even so, amen.

01:38:15.580 --> 01:38:19.580
So here it is again in Revelation, this is when Jesus actually comes back.

01:38:19.580 --> 01:38:22.580
So they're going to look on him who they pierced again.

01:38:22.580 --> 01:38:29.580
So I mean, the Bible is just a great book layered with multiple fulfillments in some areas.

01:38:29.580 --> 01:38:36.580
I mean, Jerusalem's been destroyed twice already, and the temple's been destroyed twice.

01:38:36.580 --> 01:38:39.580
But guess what? It's going to get destroyed again.

01:38:39.580 --> 01:38:43.580
The temple's going to get destroyed again. There's going to be another temple that gets destroyed again.

01:38:43.580 --> 01:38:50.580
But the Bible says for sure right here that again another scripture sayeth, they shall look on him who they pierced.

01:38:50.580 --> 01:38:56.580
So they are going to look on him who they pierced again in Revelation 1, verse number 7.

01:38:56.580 --> 01:39:00.580
So it's just interesting that it gets fulfilled again like that.

01:39:00.580 --> 01:39:03.580
So it just proves that the Bible is a very deep book.

01:39:03.580 --> 01:39:10.580
So verse 38, And after this Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for the fear of the Jews,

01:39:10.580 --> 01:39:13.580
besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus.

01:39:13.580 --> 01:39:18.580
And Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore and took the body of Jesus.

01:39:18.580 --> 01:39:27.580
And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes about a hundred pound weight.

01:39:27.580 --> 01:39:36.580
That's a lot. Then took they the body of Jesus and wound it in linen clothes with the spices as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

01:39:36.580 --> 01:39:43.580
Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden and in the garden a new sepulcher wherein was never a man yet laid.

01:39:43.580 --> 01:39:49.580
So it's very interesting. So they wrap him in linen clothes and linen is white, fine linen.

01:39:49.580 --> 01:39:55.580
So and then the so when he raises from the dead, that's what he's in.

01:39:55.580 --> 01:40:00.580
Very interesting because that's also something that the high priest was supposed to be in.

01:40:00.580 --> 01:40:09.580
But then we're in a never man. So he goes into a borrowed tomb, wasn't his tomb, but they still laid him in it anyway.

01:40:09.580 --> 01:40:16.580
And so he definitely wouldn't have been defiled in that way where there's another body in there.

01:40:16.580 --> 01:40:25.580
Let's see. And then there they laid Jesus. Therefore, because of the Jews preparation day for the sepulcher was nigh at hand.

01:40:25.580 --> 01:40:33.580
So that means they didn't go very far. They didn't crucify him very far away from the city, but he was crucified outside the city gates.

01:40:33.580 --> 01:40:39.580
The Bible is very clear about that doesn't say it in this passage, but in other passages it does. So Jesus was without the gate.

01:40:39.580 --> 01:40:48.580
OK, but today in the current Jerusalem where it's at and later on they added on to the city and the city was expanded.

01:40:48.580 --> 01:40:59.580
And so people will say like, well, it wasn't in, you know, people say that the, you know, the Holy Sepulcher, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher is not the burial place because look, it's inside the city.

01:40:59.580 --> 01:41:10.580
Yeah, but it wasn't then. And that church was built over the top of that garden because they dug down and found and found the plant life and stuff that was there.

01:41:10.580 --> 01:41:21.580
Because it says it was in a garden and the place where Paul Wittenberger's film says it is. Does that look like a garden on top of there or like there ever was a garden on top of there or ever a structure built on top of there?

01:41:21.580 --> 01:41:33.580
No, there doesn't. And in one, I think it was like one something AD, Hadrian built a temple over the top of where that place of the Holy Sepulcher is right now.

01:41:33.580 --> 01:41:42.580
And why did he build it right there? And he put like a god to something right over the spot where Jesus was crucified.

01:41:42.580 --> 01:41:49.580
And you know why he knew where to put it? Because everybody knew where Jesus was crucified. Nobody's ever lost the place where Jesus was crucified.

01:41:49.580 --> 01:41:56.580
It's the most famous place in the whole world. The Temple Mount is one of the most famous places in the whole world.

01:41:56.580 --> 01:42:04.580
Temple on Temple Mount. That's where it is. That's where it was. That's where everybody knows it is. It's just a fact of history.

01:42:04.580 --> 01:42:09.580
It's not moved. It's in the same spot. And we know exactly where it's at.

01:42:09.580 --> 01:42:16.580
And like it doesn't really matter as far as like it's not like Jesus is going to come back to the place where he was buried or whatever.

01:42:16.580 --> 01:42:24.580
But to say that we lost that that place is just ridiculous. But the fact that it says it's in a it's in a guard, you know, that he was crucified.

01:42:24.580 --> 01:42:32.580
There was a garden there. It's really interesting because when they dug, I mean, because like places were built on top of that over and over again.

01:42:32.580 --> 01:42:38.580
Why? Why would they just keep continuing to build churches and then Muslim mosques over the top of it?

01:42:38.580 --> 01:42:47.580
I mean, Hadrian built a temple, a pagan temple over the top of it. When Constantine became the emperor of Rome and he became a Christian or whatever,

01:42:47.580 --> 01:42:55.580
his mother went down to Jerusalem and went on a pilgrimage and she saw that there was like some pagan temple over the top of it or whatever.

01:42:55.580 --> 01:42:59.580
And she said there's, you know, she wrote him a letter and said, hey, there's some pagan temple on there.

01:42:59.580 --> 01:43:04.580
And then Constantine ordered to be torn down and they built a mausoleum over the top of it.

01:43:04.580 --> 01:43:11.580
So that place has a lot of history and it's pretty well documented to be the place where Jesus's tomb was.

01:43:11.580 --> 01:43:14.580
And again, when they did the archaeology, they went throughout.

01:43:14.580 --> 01:43:20.580
I mean, they know how old things are by the coins that they find in the ground, by all the structures.

01:43:20.580 --> 01:43:24.580
I mean, it's it's not like I mean, that's how they find things.

01:43:24.580 --> 01:43:29.580
The layers, what kind of architecture was there, what kind of pottery they find.

01:43:29.580 --> 01:43:34.580
It's a pretty well established archaeological science.

01:43:34.580 --> 01:43:38.580
So, I mean, I'm pretty convinced that it's where they think it is.

01:43:38.580 --> 01:43:42.580
Now, do I like all the idols and stuff like that that they have inside there?

01:43:42.580 --> 01:43:45.580
No, I'm not saying that I agree with that.

01:43:45.580 --> 01:43:52.580
But I mean, it's it's it's pretty well established where Jesus was crucified, where his grave was.

01:43:52.580 --> 01:43:57.580
But and the fact that they found, you know, when they got all the way to the bottom level of that,

01:43:57.580 --> 01:44:02.580
they find fauna from a garden in there on that bottom row.

01:44:02.580 --> 01:44:05.580
And the Bible says that there's a garden near the sepulcher.

01:44:05.580 --> 01:44:13.580
So and then in the in John chapter 20, it says that Jesus, when Mary was there and she's all upset, she's like, they've taken away my Lord.

01:44:13.580 --> 01:44:14.580
I don't know where he is.

01:44:14.580 --> 01:44:17.580
And then she's supposing him to be the gardener.

01:44:17.580 --> 01:44:20.580
When she saw Jesus at first, she supposed that he was a gardener.

01:44:20.580 --> 01:44:23.580
But she supposed he was a gardener because it was in a garden.

01:44:23.580 --> 01:44:24.580
That's why.

01:44:24.580 --> 01:44:27.580
So, I mean, pretty simple stuff.

01:44:27.580 --> 01:44:45.580
But then Jesus said unto her, Mary, and she turned herself and saith unto him, Roboan, which is to say, Master, Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not, for I'm not yet ascended to my father, but go to my brethren and say unto them, I ascend unto my father and your father and to my God and your God.

01:44:46.580 --> 01:44:53.580
So the thing about Jesus being crucified and killed, you know, he did a lot for us.

01:44:53.580 --> 01:44:56.580
He suffered a lot for us and went through a lot for us.

01:44:56.580 --> 01:44:58.580
But he did rise again.

01:44:58.580 --> 01:45:00.580
And if he didn't rise again, we wouldn't be here right now.

01:45:00.580 --> 01:45:07.580
We'd be doing whatever plan Call of Duty or doing playing at the park or doing something else.

01:45:07.580 --> 01:45:09.580
We'd be doing something besides what we're doing right now.

01:45:09.580 --> 01:45:15.580
But what Jesus did was really important and nobody's going to die for a lie.

01:45:15.580 --> 01:45:19.580
All of his disciples were killed because they continue to tell his story.

01:45:19.580 --> 01:45:23.580
And people have died throughout the ages because of this.

01:45:23.580 --> 01:45:26.580
And people still believe because it's true.

01:45:26.580 --> 01:45:28.580
It's not because it's false.

01:45:28.580 --> 01:45:30.580
A lot of blood's been spilled.

01:45:30.580 --> 01:45:32.580
He spilled his blood for us.

01:45:32.580 --> 01:45:35.580
He paid the ultimate sacrifice for us.

01:45:35.580 --> 01:45:41.580
And I mean, to say that he didn't go, I mean, to say like that just it was nothing for him to go for this.

01:45:41.580 --> 01:45:43.580
He felt everything.

01:45:43.580 --> 01:45:49.580
It's not like he didn't feel it when he's in the garden sweating as it were great drops of blood.

01:45:49.580 --> 01:45:55.580
It wasn't like he was sweating blood, but he was sweating so hard because he knew what he was going to go through.

01:45:55.580 --> 01:46:01.580
Because if you know what's in store for you, when you know exactly what's going to happen to you like that,

01:46:02.580 --> 01:46:06.580
you're going to be freaking out too and probably sweating like that too.

01:46:06.580 --> 01:46:09.580
I mean, I sweat sometimes just being nervous about having to do certain things.

01:46:09.580 --> 01:46:15.580
But like, I mean, he's sweating as it were great sweat drops as it were.

01:46:15.580 --> 01:46:21.580
Like if you're bleeding, that's how bad he was sweating because he knew what he was going to have to go through.

01:46:21.580 --> 01:46:23.580
And, you know, he took a lot for us.

01:46:23.580 --> 01:46:25.580
He took the spinning. He took the thorny crown.

01:46:25.580 --> 01:46:27.580
He took the punches.

01:46:27.580 --> 01:46:29.580
He took his beard being ripped out.

01:46:29.580 --> 01:46:32.580
He took the humiliation being stripped naked.

01:46:32.580 --> 01:46:35.580
And he did it so that we could be free.

01:46:35.580 --> 01:46:45.580
And, you know, just like, you know, the story of Barabbas isn't in this chapter, but Barabbas, his name means son of the father.

01:46:45.580 --> 01:46:49.580
Bar means son. Abba means father.

01:46:49.580 --> 01:46:53.580
And so when they had the choice of who they're going to set free, who they set free?

01:46:53.580 --> 01:46:55.580
They set free Barabbas, didn't they?

01:46:55.580 --> 01:46:57.580
Who deserved to be set free though?

01:46:57.580 --> 01:46:59.580
Jesus.

01:46:59.580 --> 01:47:05.580
But instead Jesus gets sacrificed and Barabbas, the murderer, and the seditionist gets set free.

01:47:05.580 --> 01:47:08.580
But really that picture pictures us.

01:47:08.580 --> 01:47:11.580
We don't deserve to be set free, but we get set free.

01:47:11.580 --> 01:47:14.580
And because Jesus sacrificed himself for us.

01:47:14.580 --> 01:47:23.580
So something to think about, you know, as we enter into this time of year and the great things that Jesus has done for us.

01:47:23.580 --> 01:47:28.580
And don't forget that, you know, we need to forgive other people for the things that they've done to us.

01:47:28.580 --> 01:47:31.580
And make sure that we're like Jesus.

01:47:31.580 --> 01:47:35.580
Because, you know, when people say, hey, are you a Christian?

01:47:35.580 --> 01:47:39.580
You know, we are Christians, but Christians means little Christ, right?

01:47:39.580 --> 01:47:42.580
So we should be and try to be like Christ as much as possible.

01:47:42.580 --> 01:47:43.580
We should be forgiving to other people.

01:47:43.580 --> 01:47:45.580
We should try to help people when we can.

01:47:45.580 --> 01:47:51.580
And we should also try to make other Christians also.

01:47:51.580 --> 01:47:56.580
And, you know, I just hope that our church continues to stay united and strong.

01:47:56.580 --> 01:48:00.580
And we should help out the strong members and the weak members.

01:48:00.580 --> 01:48:02.580
You know, I'm not saying anybody's weak here.

01:48:02.580 --> 01:48:06.580
I'm just saying that, you know, we all have times of weakness though.

01:48:06.580 --> 01:48:07.580
We all have times when we're strong.

01:48:07.580 --> 01:48:09.580
We all have times when we're weak.

01:48:09.580 --> 01:48:18.580
And, you know, this coming Easter, you know, we should reflect on the resurrection and the power of the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:48:18.580 --> 01:48:23.580
And the fact that he gives us power to live a victorious and free life in him.

01:48:23.580 --> 01:48:27.580
So let's pray, Lord, we thank you so much for the Bible.

01:48:27.580 --> 01:48:30.580
And we thank you so much for what Jesus did for us.

01:48:30.580 --> 01:48:37.580
And Lord, may us never lose track and lose sight of the things that you did and how you bled and died for us.

01:48:37.580 --> 01:48:44.580
And all the punishment and the mocking and the cruel temptations that you endured for us.

01:48:45.580 --> 01:48:50.580
And Lord, it's just hard to even imagine going through that, that you did for us.

01:48:50.580 --> 01:48:53.580
And Lord, we ask that you would just help us.

01:48:53.580 --> 01:48:57.580
Forgive us where we fail and come short and where we've sinned.

01:48:57.580 --> 01:49:00.580
Pray you just help us to be unified as a church.

01:49:00.580 --> 01:49:02.580
Help us to love each other.

01:49:02.580 --> 01:49:06.580
Help us to love the community and the people in our area.

01:49:06.580 --> 01:49:10.580
Help us to be faithful to you, Lord.

01:49:10.580 --> 01:49:15.580
And Lord, I pray that you just bless us as we go our separate ways tonight.

01:49:15.580 --> 01:49:17.580
And take us home safely.

01:49:17.580 --> 01:49:19.580
It's in Jesus' name we ask. Amen.

01:49:32.580 --> 01:49:36.580
I thought we were doing revelations, so Christ returneth.

01:49:37.580 --> 01:49:39.580
561 in the blue.

01:49:41.580 --> 01:49:43.580
Altogether on the first.

01:50:07.580 --> 01:50:09.580
Oh

01:50:21.580 --> 01:50:23.580
Oh

01:50:36.580 --> 01:50:38.580
Oh

01:50:48.580 --> 01:50:50.580
And maybe

01:50:58.580 --> 01:51:00.580
Oh

01:51:06.580 --> 01:51:08.580
Oh

01:51:18.580 --> 01:51:20.580
Oh

01:51:36.580 --> 01:51:38.580
Oh

01:51:38.580 --> 01:51:40.580
Oh

01:51:52.580 --> 01:51:54.580
Hey

01:52:03.580 --> 01:52:05.580
Oh

01:52:08.580 --> 01:52:10.580
Oh

01:52:24.580 --> 01:52:26.580
Oh

01:52:38.580 --> 01:52:40.580
Oh

01:53:03.580 --> 01:53:05.580
Brother Jesse can enclose us with a prayer

01:53:08.580 --> 01:53:10.580
You
