It's a really good prophecy here. I'm probably missing some. Thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies. 41:47.000 --> 41:54.000 Thy father's children shall bow down before thee. Judah is a lion's whelp from the prey, my son, thou art gone up. 41:54.000 --> 41:59.000 He stooped down, he crouched as a lion, and as an old lion, who shall rouse him up? 41:59.000 --> 42:05.000 Now, this is Jacob giving prophecies about his different sons, and he's talking about Judah here. 42:05.000 --> 42:08.000 And of course, we know Judah is the lion which Christ would come from. 42:08.000 --> 42:13.000 He's talking about his father's children bowing down before him, and then talking about him being a lion. 42:13.000 --> 42:16.000 And of course, we know that the lion is the king of the jungle, right? 42:16.000 --> 42:21.000 The lion is the king, the Bible actually says that the lion is the king of all beasts, okay? 42:21.000 --> 42:27.000 So it's kind of comparing them to, you know, this lion's whelp, and then it's also saying about an old lion. 42:27.000 --> 42:33.000 Kind of maybe giving you a picture of the, you know, that Jesus Christ is actually from old, from everlasting. 42:33.000 --> 42:35.000 But it says, who shall rouse him up? 42:35.000 --> 42:39.000 And then it says, the scepter shall not depart from Judah. 42:40.000 --> 42:45.000 Now, a scepter is a thing that a king holds in his hand, and it kind of is like a symbol of their power. 42:45.000 --> 42:49.000 And, you know, like, I don't know, you've probably seen kings where they turn up. 42:49.000 --> 42:54.000 You know, I think it was when Esther comes in, and she, you know, if the king turns it a certain way, 42:54.000 --> 42:58.000 then, you know, she's dead, or she lives if he holds it up, or something like that, right? 42:58.000 --> 43:03.000 So a scepter is just like a decorative piece that they would hold in their hand. 43:03.000 --> 43:07.000 It's kind of like a rod of some sort that they would, thank you, 43:07.000 --> 43:09.000 that they would use, and it shows their power. 43:09.000 --> 43:16.000 Anyway, it says, the scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come. 43:16.000 --> 43:21.000 And unto him shall the gathering of the people be. 43:21.000 --> 43:26.000 Now, Shiloh, I think, is just, you know, a name, a messianic name for Christ. 43:26.000 --> 43:31.000 But, of course, there was a place called Shiloh where the tabernacle dwelt for a while, 43:31.000 --> 43:35.000 and then it says, unto him shall the gathering of the people be. 43:35.000 --> 43:40.000 Of course, you know, that could be in the New Testament when his ministry was there, 43:40.000 --> 43:47.000 but also, obviously, we're all going to gather together unto him someday when he comes back for us. 43:47.000 --> 43:53.000 It says, binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass his colt unto the choice vine, 43:53.000 --> 43:57.000 so, I mean, that probably reminds you of the New Testament when he comes in his triumphal entry, 43:57.000 --> 44:02.000 he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes. 44:02.000 --> 44:10.000 Now, this is probably referencing his coming back when he comes to tread the winepress of the wrath of God, 44:10.000 --> 44:18.000 and it says that, you know, his clothes are, you know, but it's saying red wine, but it's actually blood, you know. 44:18.000 --> 44:21.000 So, but, so there's the first one that I wanted to look at. 44:21.000 --> 44:23.000 Now, turn to Numbers, chapter 24, verse 17. 44:23.000 --> 44:31.000 So, this is like kind of just a brief introduction, just showing some of the prophecies about the fact that Jesus Christ would be a ruler or a king, 44:31.000 --> 44:35.000 on this earth, and of course he's going to rule forevermore, right? 44:35.000 --> 44:39.000 Well, thank you, Gabe. That's good. 44:39.000 --> 44:44.000 Numbers 24, 17, the Bible says, I shall see him, but not now. 44:44.000 --> 44:46.000 I shall behold him, but not nigh. 44:46.000 --> 44:51.000 There shall come a star out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel. 44:51.000 --> 44:56.000 So, of course, this is Balaam, but he was a false prophet, we all know that, 44:56.000 --> 44:59.000 but the Holy Ghost did prophesy through him, 44:59.000 --> 45:05.000 and it says, and shall smite the corners of Moab and destroy all the children of Sheth. 45:05.000 --> 45:09.000 So, this star, I think, is referring to the star of Bethlehem. 45:09.000 --> 45:14.000 I think this is the only place that you could actually find where a star is prophesied to come. 45:14.000 --> 45:20.000 I think that's what the wise men saw, and I think that it's talking about, obviously, he's being born a king here. 45:20.000 --> 45:26.000 A scepter shall rise out of Israel, shall smite the corners of Moab and destroy all the children of Sheth, 45:26.000 --> 45:31.000 and Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies, 45:31.000 --> 45:36.000 and Israel shall do valiantly. Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, 45:36.000 --> 45:39.000 and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city. 45:39.000 --> 45:45.000 So, of course, I believe that this is a prophecy of Jesus Christ having dominion and ruling. 45:45.000 --> 45:53.000 Micah chapter 5, verse 2, Micah 5, 2, this is a very famous one that we all probably know real well, Micah 5, 2. 45:53.000 --> 45:58.000 I'm just going to read it. You can get there and follow along as you get there, but Micah 5, 2 says, 45:58.000 --> 46:03.000 But thou, Bethlehem Ephrata, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, 46:03.000 --> 46:08.000 yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me, that is, to be ruler in Israel, 46:08.000 --> 46:12.000 whose goings forth have been from old, from everlasting. 46:12.000 --> 46:17.000 Of course, this is talking about the Lord Jesus Christ being born in Bethlehem. 46:17.000 --> 46:21.000 This is where, of course, he was born, in the New Testament, in Bethlehem. 46:21.000 --> 46:25.000 And now turn to Isaiah chapter 9, verse 6, Isaiah 9, 6. 46:25.000 --> 46:31.000 Isaiah chapter 9, verse 6, the Bible says, 46:31.000 --> 46:36.000 For unto us a child is born unto us, a son is given, the government shall be upon his shoulder, 46:36.000 --> 46:41.000 and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. 46:41.000 --> 46:48.000 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end upon the throne of David 46:48.000 --> 46:53.000 and upon his kingdom to order it and to establish it with judgment and with justice 46:53.000 --> 46:56.000 from henceforth even forever. 46:56.000 --> 47:01.000 The zeal of the Lord of hosts, what does it say? Will perform it. 47:01.000 --> 47:09.000 So it happened, it's gonna happen, it's gonna, when Jesus Christ comes back to usher in that kingdom, 47:09.000 --> 47:11.000 it is going to be forever and ever. 47:11.000 --> 47:14.000 Now look at Zechariah chapter 9, verse 9, Zechariah chapter 9, verse 9, 47:14.000 --> 47:17.000 then we'll get into the meat of the sermon here. 47:17.000 --> 47:23.000 Just wanted to show you a few Old Testament passages showing that Christ would be born a king. 47:23.000 --> 47:30.000 He'd come out of Judah, he'd come out of Israel, of course Judah was one of Israel's sons. 47:30.000 --> 47:35.000 Now Zechariah chapter 9, verse 9 says, 47:35.000 --> 47:39.000 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! 47:39.000 --> 47:45.000 Behold, thy king cometh unto thee. He is just in having salvation lowly, 47:45.000 --> 47:50.000 and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt, the foal of an ass. 47:50.000 --> 47:55.000 And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, 47:55.000 --> 48:00.000 and the battle bow shall be cut off, and he shall speak peace unto the heathen. 48:00.000 --> 48:08.000 And his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth. 48:08.000 --> 48:16.000 And so this obviously is partially fulfilled, and it was fulfilled when he came into Jerusalem, 48:16.000 --> 48:22.000 of course on Palm Sunday when he came in, and they laid the palm branches down, 48:22.000 --> 48:25.000 and said, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. 48:25.000 --> 48:32.000 He got a warm reception, but he went out with a cold shoulder by the people. 48:32.000 --> 48:36.000 The people were loving him, and loved him at the beginning of the week, 48:36.000 --> 48:41.000 and then four days later they're yelling, you know, his blood be upon us and upon our children. 48:41.000 --> 48:43.000 I mean, real quick turn of events there. 48:43.000 --> 48:54.000 But I'll just submit to you this, that these wicked Jews that are the main enemies in this, 48:54.000 --> 48:59.000 you know, in the chapter that we read, that brother Eli read, John chapter 19, excuse me, 48:59.000 --> 49:05.000 and through the whole New Testament, they're the bad guys in the whole story. 49:05.000 --> 49:08.000 They're the ones that are riling up the Gentiles. 49:08.000 --> 49:13.000 They're the ones that are going ahead and trying to murder Paul when he's going and trying to start churches places. 49:13.000 --> 49:20.000 They're the ones hiring men of the baser sort to, you know, start trouble and cause trouble. 49:20.000 --> 49:24.000 They're the ones that are causing everything, and they're the ones that conspired against Jesus, 49:24.000 --> 49:30.000 and were trying to, and paying false witnesses to betray him and say things about him in a false, 49:30.000 --> 49:36.000 in a false trial, even in the middle of the night when they dragged him away from the Garden of Gethsemane. 49:36.000 --> 49:45.000 These people, you know, are still in operation today and still, you know, upset that Jesus Christ is the king. 49:45.000 --> 49:49.000 You know, he is the king whether they like it or not. 49:49.000 --> 49:55.000 He's still the king, and, you know, I don't care if it's anti-Semitic to say that. 49:56.000 --> 50:03.000 I don't care. Jesus is the king, and I don't care how it's said. It's still true as the day is long. 50:03.000 --> 50:08.000 Now, number one tonight, let's look back, let's look in John chapter 18. 50:08.000 --> 50:12.000 Before we get into John chapter 19, let's look at John chapter 18, and my first point is this. 50:12.000 --> 50:20.000 Christ was born to be the king, and this is what he tells Pilate in the previous chapter in chapter number 18. 50:20.000 --> 50:23.000 Look at verse number 28. The Bible says, 50:23.000 --> 50:28.000 Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas into the hall of judgment, and it was early. 50:28.000 --> 50:36.000 And they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover. 50:36.000 --> 50:42.000 Pilate then went out unto them and said, What accusation bring ye against this man? 50:43.000 --> 50:50.000 Now, they can't say, well, he did some religious infraction, because they're not going to care. 50:50.000 --> 50:57.000 You know, they don't care in the book of Acts. They don't care now, really, that we do some kind of religious infraction. 50:57.000 --> 51:04.000 It's a political game now, and they'll use, like even the whole thing, Christ is king, 51:04.000 --> 51:10.000 they're trying to use it for a political motivation, and try to make it, everything to them is anti-Semitic. 51:10.000 --> 51:17.000 I mean, apparently it's an evolving thing, and it's whatever they want it to be. 51:17.000 --> 51:20.000 Whatever they say is anti-Semitic is anti-Semitic. 51:20.000 --> 51:24.000 This is the conversation that Candace Owens actually had with a rabbi, 51:24.000 --> 51:29.000 and she was just like, well, just explain to me what anti-Semitism is. 51:29.000 --> 51:36.000 And then he just goes on this like long, unexplainable, weird rant about, 51:36.000 --> 51:40.000 and then in the end he just kind of says, it's just, it's ever evolving. 51:40.000 --> 51:44.000 And so it's like, if you can't pin them down on what anti-Semitism is, 51:44.000 --> 51:49.000 you know, what it is, it's hatred for the Jewish people, or for Semitic people. 51:49.000 --> 51:55.000 But they say Jewish people, but you know what, there's more people born of Shem than just the Jewish people. 51:55.000 --> 52:02.000 Like the Assyrians? You know, the Assyrians, the Assyrians, 52:02.000 --> 52:06.000 there's other people born of Shem besides just the Jews. 52:06.000 --> 52:12.000 And so it's not the people, they don't just like the Shemites or the Semites, 52:12.000 --> 52:16.000 they just don't like you, because of your predatory lending practices, 52:16.000 --> 52:22.000 because of the fact that you just destroy societies with your coin clipping, 52:22.000 --> 52:29.000 and your Hollywood trash that you put out, and your music industry throwing out all this gangster rap, 52:29.000 --> 52:35.000 and disgusting demonic music that they put out nowadays, I mean, it's been going on for a long time. 52:35.000 --> 52:40.000 And they're, yeah, I mean, they're the scourge of society. 52:40.000 --> 52:46.000 And when America brought them here, that was basically the beginning of the end for this country. 52:46.000 --> 52:52.000 So, I mean, obviously we still have a lot of great things about our country, but that's not one of them. 52:52.000 --> 52:56.000 You know, and when England kicked them out, they should have never let them back in. 52:56.000 --> 53:01.000 They should have never let them back in, because they're running the banking system there again, too. 53:01.000 --> 53:10.000 Right? So, and, you know, as some people would say, they're still running our banking system from way over in England, anyway. 53:10.000 --> 53:20.000 So, but look, this is a plot. This is something that you can see in the text, 53:20.000 --> 53:26.000 that this is something that they're pushing Pilate here in a political way. 53:26.000 --> 53:32.000 They're tying his hands behind his back politically, and they're trying to force him to kill Jesus. 53:32.000 --> 53:36.000 And he knows that's what they're doing, and he's more powerful than they are in reality, 53:36.000 --> 53:41.000 but there's someone that's more powerful than Pilate in this situation, and it's the devil. 53:41.000 --> 53:47.000 And the devil, you know, Jesus mentioned to them that you're of your father the devil. 53:47.000 --> 53:51.000 And he was a liar from the beginning, and he was a murderer from the beginning. 53:51.000 --> 53:57.000 He lied to Eve and said that she wouldn't die. She did die. Adam died. 53:57.000 --> 54:05.000 Everybody dies because of that lie, and he's a murderer, and, you know, he plotted to kill Jesus Christ. 54:05.000 --> 54:14.000 They thought they won, but they actually lost, because, plot twist, when Jesus died, he saved us all. 54:14.000 --> 54:17.000 But anyway, let's look at verse number 30. It says, 54:17.000 --> 54:24.000 They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him unto thee. 54:24.000 --> 54:28.000 Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him and judge him according to your law. 54:28.000 --> 54:33.000 The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death, 54:33.000 --> 54:38.000 that the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying the death he should die. 54:38.000 --> 54:46.000 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the king of the Jews? 54:46.000 --> 54:54.000 Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me? 54:54.000 --> 54:59.000 So, I mean, I just think it's really interesting from here to the rest of John chapter 19, 54:59.000 --> 55:04.000 this theme of him being the king keeps getting brought up over and over again. 55:04.000 --> 55:09.000 And this is the struggle, and this is what's really getting him put to death, 55:09.000 --> 55:14.000 is because if he says he's the king, then Pilate does have to kill him, 55:14.000 --> 55:20.000 because, you know, Caesar is the king. Caesar rules over this area. 55:20.000 --> 55:26.000 But Jesus answers him very wisely, because, look what it says in verse 35. 55:26.000 --> 55:33.000 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me. 55:33.000 --> 55:37.000 What hast thou done? Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. 55:37.000 --> 55:42.000 If my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, 55:42.000 --> 55:48.000 that I should not be delivered to the Jews. But now is my kingdom not from hence. 55:48.000 --> 55:53.000 It's not from here. It's not of this world. It's from above. 55:53.000 --> 55:59.000 That's what Jesus' message was. He was not coming in that coming to rule over people. 55:59.000 --> 56:02.000 He was coming for the purpose of dying for us. 56:02.000 --> 56:06.000 But it says in verse 37, Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? 56:06.000 --> 56:09.000 So he's just like, he's trying to get him to admit it, 56:09.000 --> 56:14.000 because it seems like he kind of wants him to admit it so he can just get it over with here or something. 56:14.000 --> 56:21.000 Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born. 56:21.000 --> 56:26.000 So to this purpose I was born. This is the reason why I was born. 56:26.000 --> 56:28.000 He was born to be a king, wasn't he? 56:29.000 --> 56:35.000 And it says, For this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. 56:35.000 --> 56:39.000 Everyone that is of the truth heareth my voice. 56:39.000 --> 56:44.000 That's a profound statement right there. Everyone that is of the truth heareth my voice. 56:44.000 --> 56:49.000 So when we can't understand why people can't understand what the Bible says, 56:49.000 --> 56:54.000 and they can't grasp what the scriptures are saying, they can't hear the truth. 56:54.000 --> 56:57.000 They can't hear his voice because they can't hear the truth. 56:57.000 --> 57:02.000 If they were of the truth, they would hear the truth, but they can't hear it. 57:02.000 --> 57:04.000 And the Jews couldn't hear it either. 57:04.000 --> 57:05.000 Look at what it says. 57:05.000 --> 57:09.000 Pilate, verse 38, saith unto him, What is truth? 57:09.000 --> 57:13.000 And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews and saith unto them, 57:13.000 --> 57:21.000 I find no fault, I find in him no fault at all, but ye have a custom that I should release unto you, one at the Passover. 57:21.000 --> 57:24.000 Will you therefore I release unto you the king of the Jews? 57:25.000 --> 57:31.000 So now, this is what I think is funny about Pilate too, is that from here on out, this is what he calls him. 57:31.000 --> 57:33.000 He calls him the king of the Jews. 57:33.000 --> 57:38.000 Because there's nothing wrong with him calling him that because he told him my kingdom is not of this world. 57:38.000 --> 57:44.000 And so Pilate just kind of latches onto this saying, and that's what he calls him for the rest of the thing, just to piss them off. 57:44.000 --> 57:49.000 Which I think is funny, but you know, they don't think it's funny, but he does. 57:49.000 --> 57:51.000 But isn't that what they're doing today? 57:51.000 --> 57:55.000 They're pissed off because we're saying Christ is king. 57:55.000 --> 57:57.000 They don't like that. 57:57.000 --> 57:59.000 And it hurts our feelings. 57:59.000 --> 58:04.000 Don't color pictures of Santa Claus at school because it hurts our feelings. 58:04.000 --> 58:06.000 Shut up. 58:06.000 --> 58:11.000 Half of them don't even go to public school, and if they do, they're God-hating Jews anyways. 58:11.000 --> 58:14.000 They hate Christ, for the most part. 58:15.000 --> 58:21.000 It says, Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. 58:21.000 --> 58:24.000 So they made their choice here. 58:24.000 --> 58:27.000 They chose somebody else. 58:27.000 --> 58:29.000 They chose a seditionist. 58:29.000 --> 58:31.000 They chose a robber. 58:31.000 --> 58:33.000 Barabbas was a murderer. 58:33.000 --> 58:37.000 And what's interesting about Barabbas is that his name means what? 58:37.000 --> 58:39.000 Bar, it means son. 58:39.000 --> 58:41.000 Abba means father. 58:41.000 --> 58:44.000 The name literally means son of the father. 58:44.000 --> 58:46.000 Talk about irony, right? 58:46.000 --> 58:49.000 They choose the son of the father, but they choose the wrong one. 58:49.000 --> 58:53.000 So let's turn to Matthew chapter 27 verse 24. 58:53.000 --> 58:59.000 Because this kind of goes along with this same exact time stamp in what's going on here. 58:59.000 --> 59:01.000 Matthew chapter 27 verse 24, the Bible says, 59:01.000 --> 59:07.000 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, 59:07.000 --> 59:10.000 he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, 59:10.000 --> 59:15.000 saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person. 59:15.000 --> 59:18.000 See ye to it. 59:18.000 --> 59:20.000 Then answered all the people. 59:20.000 --> 59:25.000 So now all the people have been swayed unto what the Pharisees have been saying, 59:25.000 --> 59:27.000 and the chief priests. 59:27.000 --> 59:30.000 Then answered all the people and said, 59:30.000 --> 59:34.000 His blood be upon us and on our children. 59:34.000 --> 59:36.000 Cursing themself right here. 59:36.000 --> 59:38.000 That's what they did. 59:38.000 --> 59:40.000 They cursed themselves. They cursed their children. 59:40.000 --> 59:42.000 They said it. 59:42.000 --> 59:44.000 Then released he Barabbas unto them, 59:44.000 --> 59:46.000 and when he had scourged Jesus, 59:46.000 --> 59:49.000 he delivered him to be crucified. 59:49.000 --> 59:52.000 So, I mean basically he washed his hands of it, 59:52.000 --> 59:54.000 but just because he washed his hands of it, 59:54.000 --> two, the Jews plotted and conspired 01:07:23.000 --> 01:07:25.000 to murder their own king. 01:07:25.000 --> 01:07:30.000 So, my first point was that Jesus was born to be a king. 01:07:30.000 --> 01:08:18.000 --> 01:08:21.000 They're mocking him by saying hail, king of the Jews 01:08:21.000 --> 01:08:23.000 because they don't really mean it. 01:08:23.000 --> 01:08:24.000 Verse four. 01:09:28.000 Then saith Pilate unto him, speakest thou not unto me? 01:09:28.000 --> 01:09:32.000 Knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee 01:09:32.000 --> 01:09:34.000 and have power to release thee? 01:09:34.000 --> 01:09:38.000 Jesus answered, thou couldest have no power at all against me, 01:09:38.000 --> 01:09:41.000 except but were given thee from above. 01:09:41.000 --> 01:10:10.000 speaketh against Caesar. 01:10:10.000 --> 01:10:12.000 See how they're just twisting it? 01:10:12.000 --> 01:10:15.000 They're just trying to just drive it home even further. 01:10:15.000 --> 01:10:17.000 They're forcing his hand. 01:10:17.000 --> 01:10:19.000 They're trying to make him do it. 01:10:19.000 --> 01:10:21.000 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, 01:10:21.000 -->
