WEBVTT

00:00.000 --> 00:07.920
I know I'm right. He watches over me day and night.

00:07.920 --> 00:17.920
Follow me, give my day and night. He is my friend.

00:17.920 --> 00:27.920
Jesus is all the world to me. I want no better friend.

00:27.920 --> 00:37.840
I trust him now, I'll trust him when life's leading day shall end.

00:37.840 --> 00:47.840
Beautiful life with such a friend. Beautiful life that has no end.

00:47.840 --> 00:59.760
Eternal life, eternal joy, he's my friend.

01:17.840 --> 01:21.760
He's my friend.

01:21.760 --> 01:31.760
Peace, peace, wonderful peace, I command from the Father above.

01:31.760 --> 01:41.760
Saint of my spirit forever I pray, in heaven the spills of love.

01:41.760 --> 01:51.680
What a treasure I have in this wonderful peace, buried deep in the heart of my soul.

01:51.680 --> 02:03.680
So secure that no power can find it away, all the years of eternity come.

02:03.680 --> 02:13.600
Peace, peace, wonderful peace, I command from the Father above.

02:13.600 --> 02:23.600
Saint of my spirit forever I pray, in heaven the spills of love.

02:23.600 --> 02:33.520
I am resting tonight in this wonderful peace, resting sweetly in Jesus' control.

02:33.520 --> 02:43.520
For I'm never all danger by night and by day, when his glory is wedding my soul.

02:43.520 --> 02:55.440
Peace, peace, wonderful peace, I command from the Father above.

02:55.440 --> 03:05.440
Saint of my spirit forever I pray, in heaven the spills of love.

03:05.440 --> 03:15.360
And I think when I rise to that city of peace, where the author of peace I shall sing.

03:15.360 --> 03:25.360
That was the reign of the star-based, the ransom will sing, in that heavenly kingdom shall be.

03:26.320 --> 03:36.320
Peace, peace, wonderful peace, I command from the Father above.

03:36.320 --> 03:46.320
Saint of my spirit forever I pray, in heaven the spills of love.

03:47.280 --> 03:57.280
Oh my soul, are you here without comfort or rest, marching down from halfway untied?

03:57.280 --> 04:07.280
Make the Savior your friend when the shadows grow dark, oh, exalt the sweet peace so sublime.

04:08.240 --> 04:18.240
Peace, peace, wonderful peace, I command from the Father above.

04:18.240 --> 04:30.240
Saint of my spirit forever I pray, in heaven the spills of love.

04:31.200 --> 04:39.200
Joyful, joyful, we adore thee, God of glory, Lord of love.

04:39.200 --> 04:47.200
Hearts unfold like flowers before thee, hoping to the sun above.

04:47.200 --> 04:55.200
Health of clouds of sin and sadness drive the dark of gentle wind.

04:56.160 --> 05:04.160
Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day.

05:04.160 --> 05:12.160
All thy works with joy surround thee, earth and heaven reflect and raise.

05:12.160 --> 05:20.160
Stars and angels sing around thee, center of unbroken praise.

05:21.120 --> 05:29.120
Hill and forest, vale and mountain, bowing head of flashing sea.

05:29.120 --> 05:37.120
Chanting bird and flowing mountain, call us to rejoice in thee.

05:37.120 --> 05:45.120
Thou art giving and forgiving, ever-blessing, ever-blessed.

05:46.080 --> 05:54.080
Hell's ring of the joy of living, ocean depth of happy rest.

05:54.080 --> 06:02.080
Thou our Father, Christ our brother, all who live in love are thine.

06:02.080 --> 06:10.080
Teach us how to love each other, lift us to the joy divine.

06:11.040 --> 06:19.040
Portals join the happy chorus, which the morning stars begin.

06:19.040 --> 06:27.040
Father, love is raining o'er us, brother, love binds man to man.

06:27.040 --> 06:35.040
Ever-seeing hearts beyond earth, winter's in the midst of strife.

06:36.000 --> 06:44.000
Joyful music leads us unburdened in the triumph song of life.

06:46.000 --> 06:54.000
O, as endeth my Savior, endeth my Sovereign, die!

06:54.000 --> 07:02.000
Would he depote that sacred man for such a worm as I?

07:02.960 --> 07:08.960
He loves me, he loves me, he loves me this I know.

07:08.960 --> 07:16.960
He gave himself to die for me because he loves me so.

07:16.960 --> 07:24.960
Was it for crimes that I have done he croaked upon the tree?

07:25.920 --> 07:31.920
He loves me, he loves me, he loves me this I know.

07:31.920 --> 07:39.920
He gave himself to die for me because he loves me so.

07:39.920 --> 07:47.920
World-wide the sun in darkness, I have shone his glories in.

07:47.920 --> 07:53.920
When proud men are born, they are born again.

07:55.920 --> 08:01.920
Christ the mighty maker, die for men the creatures sin.

08:01.920 --> 08:07.920
He loves me, he loves me, he loves me this I know.

08:07.920 --> 08:15.920
He gave himself to die for me because he loves me so.

08:15.920 --> 08:23.920
Thus might I live my blushing face while his dear cross appears.

08:24.880 --> 08:30.880
Dissolve my heart in thankfulness and melt my eyes to tears.

08:30.880 --> 08:38.880
He loves me, he loves me, he loves me this I know.

08:38.880 --> 08:46.880
He gave himself to die for me because he loves me so.

08:47.840 --> 08:53.840
The drops of grief can ne'er repay the debt of love I owe.

08:53.840 --> 09:01.840
Dear Lord, I give myself away, it is all that I can do.

09:01.840 --> 09:09.840
He loves me, he loves me, he loves me this I know.

09:10.800 --> 09:18.800
He gave himself to die for me because he loves me so.

09:18.800 --> 09:28.800
I will meet you in the morning just inside Easter Gate.

09:28.800 --> 09:36.800
Let me ready, grateful pilgrim, let me see you in Easter Lake.

09:37.760 --> 09:45.760
I will meet you, I will meet you just inside Easter Gate over there.

09:45.760 --> 09:57.760
I will meet you, I will meet you, I will meet you in the morning over there.

09:58.720 --> 10:06.720
If you're racing off to glory, linger near the Easter Gate.

10:06.720 --> 10:16.720
For I'm coming in the morning, so you'll not have long to wait.

10:16.720 --> 10:24.720
I will meet you in the morning, I will meet you in the morning just inside Easter Gate over there.

10:25.680 --> 10:35.680
I will meet you, I will meet you, I will meet you in the morning over there.

10:35.680 --> 10:45.680
Keep your legs all trimmed and burning for the proud and watchful wait.

10:46.640 --> 10:54.640
We will be with us at the meeting just inside Easter Gate.

10:54.640 --> 11:04.640
I will meet you, I will meet you, I will meet you in the morning just inside Easter Gate over there.

11:04.640 --> 11:14.640
I will meet you, I will meet you, I will meet you in the morning over there.

11:15.600 --> 11:23.600
The joy of that glad meeting with the saints before us waved.

11:23.600 --> 11:31.600
What a blessed and happy meeting just inside Easter Gate.

11:31.600 --> 11:41.600
I will meet you, I will meet you, I will meet you in the morning just inside Easter Gate over there.

11:42.560 --> 11:52.560
I will meet you, I will meet you, I will meet you in the morning over there.

11:52.560 --> 11:58.560
Oh how he loves you and me.

11:58.560 --> 12:06.560
Oh how he loves you and me.

12:07.520 --> 12:13.520
He gave his life, what more could he give?

12:13.520 --> 12:19.520
Oh how he loves you, oh how he loves me.

12:19.520 --> 12:25.520
Oh how he loves you and me.

12:26.480 --> 12:32.480
Jesus to Calvary did go.

12:32.480 --> 12:38.480
It's the torment time to show.

12:38.480 --> 12:46.480
God needed there from hope from this day.

12:56.480 --> 13:00.480
Good afternoon everybody and welcome to Steadfast Baptist Church.

13:00.480 --> 13:06.480
It's great to see everybody here. If we can go ahead and take our seats we will get started with tonight's service.

13:06.480 --> 13:14.480
And once we've found a seat we're actually going to start this service off with a song from our binders.

13:14.480 --> 13:20.480
You should have a black binder with laminated sheet music inside nearby.

13:21.440 --> 13:25.440
And if you can look towards the back it will be Redeemed.

13:25.440 --> 13:29.440
3-3-8.

13:29.440 --> 13:31.440
Redeemed.

13:31.440 --> 13:33.440
Let's all find that together.

13:33.440 --> 13:35.440
Redeemed.

13:35.440 --> 13:37.440
I love to proclaim it.

13:37.440 --> 13:39.440
Let's all sing that out together on the first.

13:39.440 --> 13:41.440
Redeemed.

13:41.440 --> 13:43.440
How I love to proclaim it.

13:43.440 --> 13:47.440
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

13:48.400 --> 13:56.400
Redeemed through His infinite mercy His child and forever I am.

13:56.400 --> 13:58.400
Redeemed.

13:58.400 --> 14:04.400
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

14:04.400 --> 14:14.400
Redeemed now I love to proclaim it with sound and forever I am.

14:15.360 --> 14:19.360
I thank God my blessed Redeemer.

14:19.360 --> 14:23.360
I thank God all the day long.

14:23.360 --> 14:29.360
I sing those I cannot be silenced.

14:29.360 --> 14:33.360
His love is the theme of my song.

14:33.360 --> 14:35.360
Redeemed.

14:35.360 --> 14:37.360
Redeemed.

14:37.360 --> 14:41.360
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

14:41.360 --> 14:43.360
Redeemed.

14:44.320 --> 14:52.320
Now I love to proclaim it with sound and forever I am.

14:52.320 --> 15:02.320
I know I shall seek it if you need the healing every move I deny.

15:02.320 --> 15:10.320
Lovingly guard my blessed steps and give me peace long in the night.

15:10.320 --> 15:12.320
Redeemed.

15:13.280 --> 15:15.280
Redeemed.

15:15.280 --> 15:19.280
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

15:19.280 --> 15:29.280
Redeemed now I love to proclaim it with sound and forever I am.

15:29.280 --> 15:31.280
Great singing everybody.

15:31.280 --> 15:33.280
Let's open up the service now with a word of prayer.

15:33.280 --> 15:37.280
Lord, once again we thank you for this great church.

15:37.280 --> 15:39.280
Thank you for everything you're doing with us and everything you're doing through this church.

15:40.240 --> 15:42.240
Lord, we just ask now that you fill us all with your spirit.

15:42.240 --> 15:44.240
Help us be edified tonight and sing unto you with all our might.

15:44.240 --> 15:46.240
Hence in Jesus name that we pray. Amen.

15:46.240 --> 15:48.240
Alright for our next song we're going to go to song number 294.

15:48.240 --> 15:50.240
Song number 294.

15:50.240 --> 15:52.240
We sing it this morning.

15:52.240 --> 15:54.240
Stepping in the light.

15:54.240 --> 15:56.240
Stepping in the light.

15:56.240 --> 15:58.240
Song 294.

15:58.240 --> 16:00.240
You know who else?

16:00.240 --> 16:02.240
Singing out loud.

16:02.240 --> 16:04.240
Singing out loud.

16:04.240 --> 16:06.240
Singing out loud.

16:06.240 --> 16:08.240
Singing out loud.

16:09.200 --> 16:11.200
You know who else?

16:11.200 --> 16:13.200
Singing out.

16:13.200 --> 16:15.200
Song 294.

16:15.200 --> 16:19.200
Trying to walk in the steps of the Savior.

16:19.200 --> 16:23.200
Trying to follow our Savior and King.

16:23.200 --> 16:29.200
Shaping our lives by His blessed example.

16:29.200 --> 16:33.200
Happy, how happy the songs have been.

16:34.160 --> 16:40.160
How beautiful to walk in the steps of the Savior.

16:40.160 --> 16:42.160
Stepping in the light.

16:42.160 --> 16:44.160
Stepping in the light.

16:44.160 --> 16:50.160
How beautiful to walk in the steps of the Savior.

16:50.160 --> 16:54.160
Let Him pass on fire.

16:54.160 --> 17:00.160
Resting more closely to Him who is leading.

17:01.120 --> 17:05.120
And we are tempted to turn from the way.

17:05.120 --> 17:09.120
Trusting the arm that is strong to defend us.

17:09.120 --> 17:15.120
Happy, how happy our praises He stays.

17:15.120 --> 17:21.120
How beautiful to walk in the steps of the Savior.

17:21.120 --> 17:23.120
Stepping in the light.

17:23.120 --> 17:25.120
Stepping in the light.

17:26.080 --> 17:32.080
How beautiful to walk in the steps of the Savior.

17:32.080 --> 17:36.080
Let Him pass on fire.

17:36.080 --> 17:42.080
Walking in footsteps of gentle forbearance.

17:42.080 --> 17:46.080
Footsteps of faithfulness, mercy, and love.

17:46.080 --> 17:52.080
Looking to Him for the grace freely promised.

17:53.040 --> 17:57.040
How happy our journey of love.

17:57.040 --> 18:03.040
How beautiful to walk in the steps of the Savior.

18:03.040 --> 18:05.040
Stepping in the light.

18:05.040 --> 18:07.040
Stepping in the light.

18:07.040 --> 18:13.040
How beautiful to walk in the steps of the Savior.

18:13.040 --> 18:17.040
Let Him pass on fire.

18:18.000 --> 18:22.000
Wanting to walk in the steps of the Savior.

18:22.000 --> 18:26.000
Upwards to upward will follow our guide.

18:26.000 --> 18:32.000
When we shall see Him, the King in His beauty.

18:32.000 --> 18:38.000
Happy, how happy the praises His time.

18:38.000 --> 18:44.000
How beautiful to walk in the steps of the Savior.

18:44.000 --> 18:46.000
Stepping in the light.

18:46.960 --> 18:52.960
How beautiful to walk in the steps of the Savior.

18:52.960 --> 18:56.960
Let Him pass on fire.

18:56.960 --> 18:58.960
Great job everybody.

19:02.960 --> 19:04.960
Alright, welcome to Steadfast Baptist Church.

19:04.960 --> 19:08.960
If you need a bulletin, please raise your hand nice and high.

19:08.960 --> 19:10.960
And we'll have one of the ushers come around and get that to you.

19:10.960 --> 19:14.960
On the front of the bulletin we do have our verse for the week.

19:15.920 --> 19:19.920
I encourage all those under the age of 18 to be memorizing that throughout the week.

19:19.920 --> 19:23.920
On Wednesday you can receive that ice cream reward.

19:23.920 --> 19:29.920
On the inside we have our service times and our sowing times along with the regional sowing times.

19:29.920 --> 19:37.920
So if you're interested in participating in any one of those, you want to see the person that's listed there as the leader for that.

19:37.920 --> 19:41.920
And then on below that we have our church stats.

19:42.880 --> 19:48.880
If you're not already, make sure that you go ahead and submit your totals for this afternoon to the sowing stats group.

19:48.880 --> 19:52.880
Make sure that you're doing that on a consistent basis.

19:52.880 --> 19:54.880
On the right hand side we do have our expecting ladies.

19:54.880 --> 19:58.880
To be in prayer for, let's continue to pray for each one of those.

19:58.880 --> 20:00.880
Some upcoming events.

20:00.880 --> 20:06.880
After the evening service tonight, there is the children's choir practice that's going to take place in the fellowship room.

20:06.880 --> 20:08.880
So make sure that you stick around for that.

20:09.840 --> 20:17.840
March 21st we have the Carthage Texas Soul Winning Marathon and the Aisle Texas Soul Winning Marathon.

20:17.840 --> 20:21.840
Both of those are taking place on March 21st.

20:21.840 --> 20:25.840
I will have another note to make on that when we get to the back.

20:25.840 --> 20:29.840
Also we have the Soul Winning Mega Marathon April 4th.

20:29.840 --> 20:31.840
And then Easter Sunday is April 5th.

20:31.840 --> 20:35.840
We have ordered some special invite cards for Easter.

20:36.800 --> 20:40.800
So those should probably be here next, I believe it was the 17th is the date that I was given.

20:40.800 --> 20:44.800
So we'll have about two weeks to hand those out to those that you would like to invite.

20:44.800 --> 20:48.800
And then the children's choir will be performing on that service as well April 5th.

20:48.800 --> 20:50.800
On the back we have our prayer list.

20:50.800 --> 20:52.800
But just some new things to make mention of.

20:52.800 --> 20:54.800
There are these QR codes here.

20:54.800 --> 21:00.800
So you'll want to scan those if you're interested in participating in any one of those Soul Winning opportunities.

21:00.800 --> 21:04.800
And that's going to take you to the events page on the God Resource page.

21:05.760 --> 21:09.760
And this is something that Pastor Shelley has been working on.

21:09.760 --> 21:13.760
As far as providing a way for us to register for events.

21:13.760 --> 21:17.760
Making a lot of people's jobs easier.

21:17.760 --> 21:21.760
You can also see events that are taking place across the country, across the world.

21:21.760 --> 21:27.760
Which is really cool because there might be people that are listening to our services.

21:27.760 --> 21:29.760
But maybe are in a different state.

21:29.760 --> 21:33.760
It kind of gives them an opportunity to get involved in Soul Winning.

21:34.720 --> 21:36.720
That's near them.

21:36.720 --> 21:38.720
And so definitely want to plug that.

21:38.720 --> 21:42.720
If you're interested in attending the AISL, the Carthage, or even the Mega Marathon.

21:42.720 --> 21:44.720
Make sure you scan that QR code.

21:44.720 --> 21:50.720
Go to the website, register, and include as many people that are going to be attending for that event.

21:50.720 --> 21:52.720
It will really help us out from an admin perspective.

21:52.720 --> 21:58.720
And it will also kind of help facilitate just more Soul Winning and being more efficient.

21:58.720 --> 22:00.720
So definitely want to make a plug there for that.

22:00.720 --> 22:02.720
That's all the announcements we have this evening.

22:03.680 --> 22:04.680
We're going to go to our next song.

22:04.680 --> 22:06.680
Brother Dustin is going to lead us.

22:10.680 --> 22:14.680
Alright, for our next song, let's go to Psalm 139.

22:14.680 --> 22:16.680
Once again in your black binders.

22:16.680 --> 22:21.680
Psalm, Psalm chapter 139.

22:23.680 --> 22:25.680
And we'll sing our Psalm of the Week.

22:25.680 --> 22:27.680
Psalm 139.

22:28.640 --> 22:42.640
Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God.

22:42.640 --> 22:53.640
Deep are from me their forty bloody men, Deep are from me their forty bloody men.

22:54.600 --> 22:59.600
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

22:59.600 --> 23:04.600
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

23:04.600 --> 23:10.600
And then I agree, With those that rise up against thee.

23:10.600 --> 23:16.600
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

23:16.600 --> 23:22.600
For they speak against thee wickedly.

23:23.560 --> 23:28.560
For they speak against thee wickedly.

23:28.560 --> 23:34.560
And thine enemies save thy name in vain.

23:34.560 --> 23:39.560
And thine enemies save thy name in vain.

23:39.560 --> 23:45.560
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

23:45.560 --> 23:50.560
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

23:51.520 --> 23:56.520
And then I agree, With those that rise up against thee.

23:56.520 --> 24:02.520
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

24:02.520 --> 24:08.520
I hate them with perfect hatred.

24:08.520 --> 24:14.520
I hate them with perfect hatred.

24:15.480 --> 24:20.480
I count them, my enemies.

24:20.480 --> 24:26.480
I count them, my enemies.

24:26.480 --> 24:32.480
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

24:32.480 --> 24:38.480
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

24:38.480 --> 24:43.480
And then I agree, With those that rise up against thee.

24:43.480 --> 24:49.440
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

25:14.440 --> 25:19.440
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

25:19.440 --> 25:24.440
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

25:24.440 --> 25:29.440
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

25:29.440 --> 25:34.440
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

25:34.440 --> 25:39.440
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

25:40.400 --> 25:45.400
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

25:45.400 --> 25:50.400
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

25:50.400 --> 25:55.400
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

25:55.400 --> 26:00.400
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

26:00.400 --> 26:05.400
Tonight I hate them, O Lord, that they be.

26:06.360 --> 26:11.360
First John chapter number four.

26:11.360 --> 26:15.360
The Bible says, Beloved, believe not every spirit,

26:15.360 --> 26:18.360
but try the spirits whether they are of God,

26:18.360 --> 26:22.360
because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

26:22.360 --> 26:25.360
Hereby know ye the Spirit of God.

26:25.360 --> 26:30.360
Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God,

26:30.360 --> 26:33.360
and every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God,

26:34.320 --> 26:39.320
and every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God.

26:39.320 --> 26:42.320
And this is that Spirit of Antichrist,

26:42.320 --> 26:45.320
whereof ye have heard that it should come,

26:45.320 --> 26:48.320
and even now already is it in the world.

26:48.320 --> 26:51.320
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them,

26:51.320 --> 26:55.320
because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.

26:55.320 --> 26:59.320
They are of the world, therefore speak they of the world,

26:59.320 --> 27:01.320
and the world heareth them.

27:02.280 --> 27:04.280
We are of God.

27:04.280 --> 27:06.280
He that knoweth God heareth us.

27:06.280 --> 27:08.280
He that is not of God heareth not us.

27:08.280 --> 27:11.280
Hereby know we the Spirit of truth and the Spirit of error.

27:11.280 --> 27:14.280
Beloved, let us love one another,

27:14.280 --> 27:17.280
for love is of God,

27:17.280 --> 27:20.280
and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God.

27:20.280 --> 27:23.280
He that loveth not knoweth not God,

27:23.280 --> 27:26.280
for God is love.

27:26.280 --> 27:29.280
In this was manifested the love of God toward us,

27:30.240 --> 27:33.240
that we might live through him.

27:33.240 --> 27:36.240
Herein is love, not that we loved God,

27:36.240 --> 27:38.240
but that he loved us,

27:38.240 --> 27:42.240
and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

27:42.240 --> 27:45.240
Beloved, if God so loved us,

27:45.240 --> 27:48.240
we ought also to love one another.

27:48.240 --> 27:51.240
No man hath seen God at any time.

27:51.240 --> 27:54.240
If we love one another, God dwelleth in us,

27:54.240 --> 27:57.240
and his love is perfected in us.

27:58.200 --> 28:00.200
Hereby know we that we dwell in him,

28:00.200 --> 28:01.200
and he in us,

28:01.200 --> 28:04.200
because he hath given us of his Spirit.

28:04.200 --> 28:08.200
And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son

28:08.200 --> 28:11.200
to be the Savior of the world.

28:11.200 --> 28:14.200
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God,

28:14.200 --> 28:17.200
God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

28:17.200 --> 28:21.200
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us.

28:21.200 --> 28:23.200
God is love,

28:23.200 --> 28:26.200
and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God,

28:27.160 --> 28:28.160
and he in God in him.

28:28.160 --> 28:30.160
Herein is our love made perfect,

28:30.160 --> 28:33.160
that we may have boldness in the day of judgment,

28:33.160 --> 28:36.160
because as he is, so are we in this world.

28:36.160 --> 28:39.160
There is no fear in love,

28:39.160 --> 28:42.160
but perfect love casteth out fear,

28:42.160 --> 28:44.160
because fear hath torment.

28:44.160 --> 28:47.160
He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

28:47.160 --> 28:50.160
We love him because he first loved us.

28:50.160 --> 28:52.160
If a man say, I love God,

28:52.160 --> 28:55.160
and hateth his brother, he is a liar.

28:56.120 --> 28:59.120
If he that loveth not his brother, whom he hath seen,

28:59.120 --> 29:02.120
how can he love God, whom he hath not seen?

29:02.120 --> 29:04.120
And this commandment have we from him,

29:04.120 --> 29:07.120
that he who loveth God, love his brother also.

29:07.120 --> 29:08.120
Let us pray.

29:08.120 --> 29:10.120
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for the Word of God.

29:10.120 --> 29:12.120
I thank you for this church.

29:12.120 --> 29:14.120
I thank you for our pastor,

29:14.120 --> 29:16.120
and I ask you to please fill him with your Holy Spirit.

29:16.120 --> 29:18.120
Help him to preach boldly to us.

29:18.120 --> 29:19.120
In Jesus' name, amen.

29:19.120 --> 29:20.120
Amen.

29:20.120 --> 29:22.120
I'm gonna do my best this evening.

29:22.120 --> 29:24.120
I don't know, my voice is almost gone.

29:25.080 --> 29:27.080
If you're gonna do those, then we'll just end really early.

29:27.080 --> 29:29.080
So it'll be unlike Pastor Shelley.

29:29.080 --> 29:33.080
But 1 John chapter 4, the Bible says in verse 20,

29:33.080 --> 29:35.080
if a man say, I love God,

29:35.080 --> 29:37.080
and hateth his brother, he is a liar.

29:37.080 --> 29:39.080
For he that loveth not his brother, whom he hath seen,

29:39.080 --> 29:42.080
how can he love God, whom he hath not seen?

29:42.080 --> 29:44.080
And this commandment have we from him,

29:44.080 --> 29:46.080
that he who loveth God, love his brother also.

29:46.080 --> 29:51.080
So I wanna do my best to talk about sibling rivalries.

29:52.040 --> 29:54.040
Sibling rivalries.

29:54.040 --> 29:56.040
And really, we should love our brother

29:56.040 --> 29:58.040
physically and spiritually.

29:58.040 --> 30:00.040
This is a really good reminder here.

30:00.040 --> 30:02.040
Verse 1 of chapter 5 also says,

30:02.040 --> 30:05.040
whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God,

30:05.040 --> 30:07.040
and everyone that loveth him that begat

30:07.040 --> 30:09.040
love them also that is begotten of him.

30:09.040 --> 30:11.040
By this we know that we love the children of God

30:11.040 --> 30:15.040
when we love God and keep his commandments.

30:15.040 --> 30:19.040
So again, the emphasis in 1 John,

30:20.000 --> 30:22.000
I guess there's multiple, but one of the themes

30:22.000 --> 30:24.000
is specifically loving your brother.

30:24.000 --> 30:27.000
And this should just be the attitude of every Christian.

30:27.000 --> 30:29.000
And if you really love God,

30:29.000 --> 30:31.000
then you will love your brother.

30:31.000 --> 30:34.000
It's incompatible that if you love God

30:34.000 --> 30:36.000
and you hate your brother,

30:36.000 --> 30:38.000
these can't be true.

30:38.000 --> 30:40.000
They're mutually inclusive.

30:40.000 --> 30:43.000
The same as you accept the son, you accept the father.

30:43.000 --> 30:45.000
You don't accept the father,

30:45.000 --> 30:47.000
you don't accept the son, you don't accept the son,

30:47.000 --> 30:48.000
you don't accept the father.

30:48.000 --> 30:51.000
You cannot love God and not love your brother.

30:51.000 --> 30:54.000
The people who love God the most

30:54.000 --> 30:58.000
are the people who love their brother the most.

30:58.000 --> 31:01.000
The people who hate their brother the most

31:01.000 --> 31:03.000
hate God the most.

31:03.000 --> 31:06.000
So there's a correlation between these two things.

31:06.000 --> 31:09.000
Chapter 3, look at verse 9.

31:09.000 --> 31:12.000
Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin,

31:12.000 --> 31:14.000
for his seed remaineth in him,

31:14.000 --> 31:17.000
and he cannot sin because he is born of God.

31:17.000 --> 31:19.000
In this the children of God are manifest

31:19.000 --> 31:20.000
and the children of the devil.

31:20.000 --> 31:22.000
Whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God,

31:22.000 --> 31:24.000
neither he that loveth not his brother.

31:24.000 --> 31:27.000
For this is the message they have heard from the beginning,

31:27.000 --> 31:30.000
that we should love one another,

31:30.000 --> 31:33.000
not as Cain, who is of that wicked one,

31:33.000 --> 31:35.000
and slew his brother.

31:35.000 --> 31:37.000
And wherefore slew he him?

31:37.000 --> 31:40.000
Because his own works were evil,

31:40.000 --> 31:43.000
and his brother's righteous.

31:43.000 --> 31:45.000
What's one of the weighing reasons

31:45.000 --> 31:47.000
that people don't like their brother?

31:47.000 --> 31:51.000
It's because their brother's better than them.

31:51.000 --> 31:54.000
It's easy to not envy your brother

31:54.000 --> 31:56.000
when you're better than him.

31:56.000 --> 31:59.000
It's easy to get along with your brother

31:59.000 --> 32:01.000
when you're kind of the superior one,

32:01.000 --> 32:03.000
you're better, you're bigger, you're taller, you're stronger,

32:03.000 --> 32:05.000
everything's going for you.

32:05.000 --> 32:07.000
Why would you hate your brother?

32:07.000 --> 32:10.000
Because your brother's better than you.

32:10.000 --> 32:12.000
Not only that, if we go back to Genesis,

32:12.000 --> 32:15.000
the Bible tells us that God had respect

32:15.000 --> 32:17.000
unto Abel in his offering,

32:17.000 --> 32:20.000
but he did not have respect unto Cain in his offering.

32:20.000 --> 32:24.000
So we see a favoritism from God towards Abel,

32:24.000 --> 32:28.000
and then that makes Cain upset with his brother.

32:28.000 --> 32:31.000
Why? Because his brother is good,

32:31.000 --> 32:33.000
his brother is godly,

32:33.000 --> 32:35.000
God likes his brother.

32:35.000 --> 32:38.000
Does it make sense though to kill your brother

32:38.000 --> 32:41.000
because God likes him?

32:41.000 --> 32:44.000
Does it make sense to hurt or harm your brother

32:44.000 --> 32:46.000
if God is pleased with them?

32:46.000 --> 32:49.000
Yet that's the reason why Cain attacked Abel.

32:49.000 --> 32:53.000
It's because of God's favoritism towards Abel.

32:53.000 --> 32:57.000
But was he really showing favoritism towards Abel

32:57.000 --> 33:01.000
because Abel's like a better, inherent person?

33:01.000 --> 33:04.000
Or was it because he had good works?

33:04.000 --> 33:06.000
It's because of his good works,

33:06.000 --> 33:09.000
it's because of his righteousness that separated him.

33:09.000 --> 33:11.000
In fact, Cain is the firstborn,

33:11.000 --> 33:13.000
and Cain, according to the Bible,

33:13.000 --> 33:16.000
when Eve has Cain, she says,

33:16.000 --> 33:19.000
I've gotten a man from the Lord.

33:19.000 --> 33:23.000
You would think even the firstborn gets a double inheritance

33:23.000 --> 33:27.000
from the law and just from the precedent of the Bible.

33:27.000 --> 33:30.000
Like there's nothing making Abel better than Cain

33:30.000 --> 33:33.000
or preferred from Cain based on their predisposition,

33:33.000 --> 33:37.000
based on their inherent immutable characteristics.

33:37.000 --> 33:39.000
What made Abel better?

33:39.000 --> 33:41.000
He was righteous.

33:41.000 --> 33:43.000
What made Abel better?

33:43.000 --> 33:44.000
His good works.

33:44.000 --> 33:46.000
And God was pleased with his brother's good works.

33:46.000 --> 33:48.000
Why would he hate his brother then?

33:48.000 --> 33:50.000
It makes no sense.

33:50.000 --> 33:52.000
Yet this is what constantly happens,

33:52.000 --> 33:55.000
is that brothers will get mad at each other,

33:55.000 --> 33:57.000
and at the end of the day,

33:57.000 --> 34:01.000
it's usually because they're envying their brother.

34:01.000 --> 34:03.000
If we really to boil all this down,

34:03.000 --> 34:06.000
most sibling rivalries,

34:06.000 --> 34:08.000
most problems between brothers and sisters

34:08.000 --> 34:11.000
is some envy on some level.

34:11.000 --> 34:15.000
And so we have to be careful to not allow envy

34:15.000 --> 34:19.000
to cause us to dislike our brothers and sisters,

34:19.000 --> 34:23.000
literally, and our brothers and sisters in Christ.

34:23.000 --> 34:28.000
Now, look at verse 16, chapter 3, verse 16.

34:28.000 --> 34:30.000
Hereby, perceiving the love of God,

34:30.000 --> 34:32.000
because he laid down his life for us,

34:32.000 --> 34:34.000
we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

34:34.000 --> 34:35.000
What should be the attitude?

34:35.000 --> 34:37.000
We should want good for our brother.

34:37.000 --> 34:39.000
We should want God to like our brother.

34:39.000 --> 34:41.000
We should want our parents to like our brother.

34:41.000 --> 34:44.000
We should be willing to lay down our own lives

34:44.000 --> 34:47.000
so that our brother's life is better.

34:47.000 --> 34:50.000
It's not about our life.

34:50.000 --> 34:52.000
It's about our brother's life.

34:52.000 --> 34:57.000
Jesus didn't come so that he could be glorified and worshiped.

34:57.000 --> 35:01.000
He came as a no-reputation servant,

35:01.000 --> 35:04.000
just simply to help us.

35:04.000 --> 35:07.000
Jesus Christ laid down his life

35:07.000 --> 35:11.000
so that we could have eternal life.

35:11.000 --> 35:12.000
He didn't look at us and say,

35:12.000 --> 35:15.000
you know what, I'm better than you.

35:15.000 --> 35:17.000
Hey, Peter, I'm better than you.

35:17.000 --> 35:19.000
John, I'm better than you.

35:19.000 --> 35:22.000
No, no, no. He washed their feet.

35:22.000 --> 35:24.000
He washed Judas' feet.

35:24.000 --> 35:26.000
He came here and he served them.

35:26.000 --> 35:29.000
He fed them. He taught them.

35:29.000 --> 35:32.000
In some cases, I would argue he's pretty patient

35:32.000 --> 35:35.000
because I'm pretty sure when you know everything,

35:35.000 --> 35:39.000
you probably just get a little tired of people being stupid.

35:39.000 --> 35:42.000
If you've ever been impatient with someone

35:42.000 --> 35:44.000
or thought this person's kind of stupid

35:44.000 --> 35:48.000
or how did they not get it, how did Jesus feel?

35:48.000 --> 35:51.000
How did he feel constantly explaining?

35:51.000 --> 35:55.000
I mean, just think about when he does the feeding of the 5,000

35:55.000 --> 35:58.000
and then he's just like, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees.

35:58.000 --> 36:01.000
And he's like, is it because we didn't bring bread?

36:01.000 --> 36:04.000
And he's like, what's wrong with you people?

36:04.000 --> 36:06.000
Like, how stupid are you?

36:06.000 --> 36:09.000
Like, didn't you realize I can just make miracle bread?

36:09.000 --> 36:12.000
It's the real Wonder Bread, you know.

36:12.000 --> 36:16.000
The Wonder Bread today, it's a wonder that people call it bread.

36:16.000 --> 36:20.000
Jesus' Wonder Bread is that he multiplies it, okay?

36:20.000 --> 36:26.000
But at the end of the day, it's got to be difficult for Jesus

36:26.000 --> 36:32.000
to condescend the men of low estate much more than any of us

36:32.000 --> 36:35.000
in any of our circumstances or situations.

36:35.000 --> 36:39.000
And if Jesus is setting that example of laying down His life,

36:39.000 --> 36:44.000
how much more should then we be willing to lay down our lives

36:44.000 --> 36:48.000
when our lives are meaningless in comparison to Jesus?

36:48.000 --> 36:52.000
Yet, out of our own selfish ambition,

36:52.000 --> 36:56.000
we often have a rivalry with our brother

36:56.000 --> 37:01.000
because we envy our brother and we want to be the best.

37:01.000 --> 37:05.000
We don't want our brother to be number one, we want to be number one.

37:05.000 --> 37:09.000
We don't want to be, you know, basically the Mendoza

37:09.000 --> 37:12.000
watching our brother win the national championship.

37:12.000 --> 37:15.000
We want to be the Mendoza in the game playing.

37:15.000 --> 37:19.000
But if it's not you, why wouldn't you want your brother to be the one winning?

37:19.000 --> 37:22.000
Why wouldn't you want your brother to be doing good?

37:22.000 --> 37:26.000
Cain would rather kill his brother than let his brother win,

37:26.000 --> 37:28.000
than let his brother do good.

37:28.000 --> 37:31.000
And often that can get to all of us.

37:31.000 --> 37:35.000
There's something inside of us that just wants to be the better brother,

37:35.000 --> 37:38.000
that just wants to be the better sister,

37:38.000 --> 37:42.000
that just wants more attention from our parents.

37:42.000 --> 37:46.000
Like you just want to be the star child, right?

37:46.000 --> 37:50.000
You just want mom and dad to just glow all over you.

37:50.000 --> 37:54.000
You don't want it to be like, oh, they're the favorite.

37:54.000 --> 37:57.000
They're the one that my parents really like.

37:57.000 --> 38:02.000
You know, I'm just kind of the other sister, the other brother.

38:02.000 --> 38:05.000
You know, do you have any other here besides?

38:05.000 --> 38:07.000
It's like, yeah, this guy, you know.

38:07.000 --> 38:12.000
It's like whenever Samuel comes to, you know, Jesse,

38:12.000 --> 38:15.000
it's like, hey, we need a king.

38:15.000 --> 38:17.000
It's like, here's Eliab.

38:17.000 --> 38:19.000
It's like, nah.

38:19.000 --> 38:22.000
And he just keeps going on, listen, he's like, you got anybody else?

38:22.000 --> 38:25.000
It's like, we got David, you know.

38:25.000 --> 38:29.000
But, you know, of course Eliab, he wasn't sitting or thinking like,

38:29.000 --> 38:31.000
I hope they pick David.

38:31.000 --> 38:35.000
Eliab's like, I mean, it's me, you know, obviously.

38:35.000 --> 38:39.000
And again, there's something inside of man that just wants to be,

38:39.000 --> 38:44.000
I'm the best, I'm number one, mom and dad love me the most,

38:44.000 --> 38:47.000
I'm the star child, I'm the one that gets attention.

38:47.000 --> 38:50.000
And this can translate not only from your physical parents

38:50.000 --> 38:52.000
to our heavenly parents, right?

38:52.000 --> 38:56.000
In the sense of God the Father, we could sit here and kind of desire

38:56.000 --> 38:59.000
to have all the attention from God

38:59.000 --> 39:01.000
and not allow anybody else to get that attention.

39:01.000 --> 39:04.000
This is a dangerous, dangerous mindset.

39:04.000 --> 39:07.000
And of course, the devil would love to feed into your ego

39:07.000 --> 39:09.000
and get you to envy your siblings

39:09.000 --> 39:12.000
and have this rivalry that should not be there.

39:12.000 --> 39:16.000
You know what, you should be your brother's biggest fan.

39:16.000 --> 39:21.000
As a lady, you should be a cheerleader of your siblings,

39:21.000 --> 39:25.000
not somebody hoping that they tear them down

39:25.000 --> 39:30.000
or that they fail or that they're the worst.

39:30.000 --> 39:34.000
You want them to be successful, but whatever it is,

39:34.000 --> 39:38.000
the Bible teaches that many cases we don't have that attitude.

39:38.000 --> 39:39.000
Which tell me how did you beat?

39:39.000 --> 39:42.000
We're willing to lay down our lives for the brethren.

39:42.000 --> 39:44.000
Verse 17, but who so hath this world's good

39:44.000 --> 39:45.000
and seeeth his brother have need

39:45.000 --> 39:47.000
and shuddered up his bowels of compassion from him,

39:47.000 --> 39:49.000
how dwelleth the love of God in him?

39:49.000 --> 39:52.000
You know, the Bible says, if you have money

39:52.000 --> 39:55.000
and you don't give it to your brother,

39:55.000 --> 39:59.000
when they're, notice this, have need.

39:59.000 --> 40:02.000
This isn't like want, this is like need.

40:02.000 --> 40:07.000
He's like, how could you ever claim that you love God in any way?

40:07.000 --> 40:10.000
If you're withholding money from your brother

40:10.000 --> 40:13.000
and you have the ability to give,

40:13.000 --> 40:16.000
it's not like you're having to max out your credit card

40:16.000 --> 40:19.000
to help your brother buy a Corvette, right?

40:19.000 --> 40:22.000
It's like you got abundance that you don't even need

40:22.000 --> 40:25.000
and he's starving over here and you're just,

40:25.000 --> 40:27.000
hey, God's giving you this abundance,

40:27.000 --> 40:29.000
maybe to help supply their need.

40:29.000 --> 40:32.000
And you're gonna not give your abundance to your brother.

40:32.000 --> 40:35.000
The Bible says you don't love God.

40:36.000 --> 40:39.000
If you're withholding your abundance from your brother

40:39.000 --> 40:44.000
when they have need, you do not love God, okay?

40:44.000 --> 40:47.000
It's crystal clear in the Bible.

40:47.000 --> 40:49.000
It says, how dwelleth the love of God?

40:49.000 --> 40:52.000
It's like you have like zero love of God in you.

40:52.000 --> 40:55.000
Like this isn't even like the biggest picture of love.

40:55.000 --> 40:57.000
This is like a lower level.

40:57.000 --> 40:59.000
The high level was giving your life.

40:59.000 --> 41:03.000
How, I mean, if you can't even give your brother 10 bucks,

41:03.000 --> 41:07.000
how could you then lay down your life for your brother?

41:07.000 --> 41:09.000
This is like a basic level.

41:09.000 --> 41:13.000
You have extra money you don't need

41:13.000 --> 41:17.000
and you won't even give it to your brother's need.

41:17.000 --> 41:20.000
He's like, you have no love.

41:20.000 --> 41:22.000
Don't lie to yourself.

41:22.000 --> 41:25.000
I love God, but you can't even give your brother

41:25.000 --> 41:27.000
from your abundance?

41:27.000 --> 41:32.000
Now again, we all, most of us, even in America,

41:32.000 --> 41:33.000
with as much abundance as our country,

41:33.000 --> 41:35.000
a lot of us probably live paycheck to paycheck.

41:35.000 --> 41:38.000
I mean, a lot of us are probably barely scraping by.

41:38.000 --> 41:41.000
I doubt many of us are just sitting here just piling

41:41.000 --> 41:44.000
just tens of thousands of dollars every month away.

41:44.000 --> 41:46.000
Probably not very likely.

41:46.000 --> 41:51.000
God is not expecting you to rob your children of their dinner

41:51.000 --> 41:53.000
so that you can help your brother, right?

41:53.000 --> 41:55.000
That's not what the Bible is saying.

41:55.000 --> 41:57.000
But there are some people that genuinely have abundance

41:57.000 --> 42:01.000
that God has blessed, and if that person was approached

42:01.000 --> 42:04.000
and this person had a need and you won't supply it,

42:04.000 --> 42:06.000
the Bible is saying you don't love them.

42:06.000 --> 42:09.000
You do not love them, and you do not love God.

42:09.000 --> 42:12.000
It's not that you don't love them, it's that you don't love God.

42:12.000 --> 42:16.000
It says in verse 18, my little children,

42:16.000 --> 42:18.000
let us not love in word, neither in tongue,

42:18.000 --> 42:19.000
but indeed in truth.

42:19.000 --> 42:21.000
Oh, I love you so much.

42:21.000 --> 42:22.000
Can you help me?

42:22.000 --> 42:23.000
No.

42:23.000 --> 42:25.000
Well, then you don't love them.

42:25.000 --> 42:27.000
In fact, words are cheap.

42:28.000 --> 42:31.000
Really, you know, I don't even care

42:31.000 --> 42:34.000
if my brother tells me he loves me.

42:34.000 --> 42:37.000
Honestly, as most of straight men are,

42:37.000 --> 42:40.000
we probably don't even want to hear it a single time.

42:40.000 --> 42:42.000
Like, I'm good.

42:42.000 --> 42:46.000
Like, if none of you guys ever come to me like, I love you,

42:46.000 --> 42:49.000
I'd be like, that's great, okay, I don't need to hear it.

42:49.000 --> 42:50.000
All right?

42:50.000 --> 42:54.000
Now, look, obviously I think that sincere men can be like,

42:54.000 --> 42:56.000
hey, love you, bro, I just want to let you know,

42:56.000 --> 42:58.000
just remind you like I love you.

42:58.000 --> 42:59.000
There's nothing wrong with it.

42:59.000 --> 43:01.000
But in general, do you really care?

43:01.000 --> 43:03.000
You know what you actually want?

43:03.000 --> 43:05.000
You want your brother to actually just love you.

43:05.000 --> 43:07.000
Actually think positive about you.

43:07.000 --> 43:10.000
Actually take care of you if you ever needed something.

43:10.000 --> 43:12.000
Be there when you're down.

43:12.000 --> 43:14.000
Encourage you when you're down.

43:14.000 --> 43:16.000
Want to do good unto you, right?

43:16.000 --> 43:18.000
Good actions, hanging out with you.

43:18.000 --> 43:20.000
Talk is cheap.

43:20.000 --> 43:23.000
Many people will say, I love you, bro.

43:23.000 --> 43:25.000
Oh, I just love you so much.

43:25.000 --> 43:27.000
Oh, we just love this person so much.

43:27.000 --> 43:28.000
But you know what?

43:28.000 --> 43:34.000
If their actions are mismatched, not only is it that they're lying,

43:34.000 --> 43:38.000
it's almost like salt in the wound.

43:38.000 --> 43:40.000
It's almost like even worse.

43:40.000 --> 43:44.000
Like, if you're not going to actually love me in like deed,

43:44.000 --> 43:47.000
then definitely don't say it.

43:47.000 --> 43:50.000
And what I've noticed is the people that are the loudest with their

43:50.000 --> 43:53.000
mouth about how much they love somebody are usually the biggest

43:53.000 --> 43:55.000
hypocrites with their actions.

43:55.000 --> 43:57.000
Because the guy that loves you with his actions,

43:57.000 --> 44:00.000
he doesn't feel the need to have to tell you.

44:00.000 --> 44:03.000
You know why people have this burden to tell you?

44:03.000 --> 44:05.000
It's because in their mind they're thinking,

44:05.000 --> 44:09.000
this guy probably doesn't think I love them because I haven't shown

44:09.000 --> 44:11.000
any love to them at all.

44:11.000 --> 44:16.000
So I need to probably say it a lot just to try and convince him and

44:16.000 --> 44:18.000
myself that I love this guy.

44:18.000 --> 44:20.000
That's why I love you.

44:20.000 --> 44:22.000
It's like, why are you saying that?

44:22.000 --> 44:27.000
Probably because you feel like you need to say it because it's not true.

44:27.000 --> 44:31.000
The guy that, you know, it could be like even like best friends.

44:31.000 --> 44:34.000
Typically best friends don't have to even tell each other that.

44:34.000 --> 44:36.000
They just know.

44:36.000 --> 44:39.000
But when someone's just constantly being like, I'm your best friend,

44:39.000 --> 44:43.000
it's like maybe you're not, and you're just trying to like say this

44:43.000 --> 44:46.000
because it's like you're trying to convince people of something that's

44:46.000 --> 44:48.000
not real.

44:48.000 --> 44:52.000
When things are real, you're typically not having to express it verbally

44:52.000 --> 44:55.000
that much because it's just shown by your actions.

44:55.000 --> 44:59.000
The guy at work that's always saying, oh man, I'm so busy,

44:59.000 --> 45:02.000
he's probably the laziest person at your company.

45:02.000 --> 45:06.000
The guy that's the hardest working never even tells anybody he's working.

45:06.000 --> 45:09.000
He doesn't have to go around and brag, oh man, I'm just working so much.

45:09.000 --> 45:14.000
You know, probably the biggest example of this was Tyler Baker.

45:14.000 --> 45:18.000
Now if you don't know who this is, count yourself blessed.

45:18.000 --> 45:21.000
This is a guy that used to go to church with the Faithful Word Baptist Church.

45:21.000 --> 45:22.000
He was a deacon there.

45:22.000 --> 45:24.000
He was going to start a church in Jacksonville.

45:24.000 --> 45:26.000
He got caught being a weird heretic.

45:26.000 --> 45:27.000
Now he's like a Calvinist.

45:27.000 --> 45:29.000
He was ordained by his dad.

45:29.000 --> 45:31.000
There's a lot of fun things you could say about him.

45:31.000 --> 45:36.000
But nevertheless, this guy, I worked with him at Faithful Word.

45:36.000 --> 45:39.000
We were doing a ministry together, a new church plant.

45:39.000 --> 45:45.000
And I kid you not, every single time I ever had a conversation with him,

45:45.000 --> 45:47.000
he brought up how hard he's working.

45:47.000 --> 45:50.000
It did not matter what the conversation was about.

45:50.000 --> 45:52.000
He was going to let me know he was working really hard.

45:52.000 --> 45:55.000
Now because I worked so intimately with him and close to him,

45:55.000 --> 45:58.000
there was plenty of times where I showed up where he's on the clock.

45:58.000 --> 46:01.000
And what's interesting is every time I was around him on the clock,

46:01.000 --> 46:03.000
I never caught him working.

46:03.000 --> 46:07.000
You know, you'd think like if you were just working all the time,

46:07.000 --> 46:10.000
you would occasionally be caught working,

46:10.000 --> 46:15.000
not just watching YouTube videos, having your feet up, doing absolutely nothing.

46:15.000 --> 46:16.000
Okay.

46:16.000 --> 46:20.000
And what was so funny about this is the guy that claims he worked so hard,

46:20.000 --> 46:24.000
he had to fill out a time sheet every day while he worked at Faithful Word.

46:24.000 --> 46:28.000
And he was filling it out by putting absolutely nothing in it.

46:28.000 --> 46:32.000
So for months and months and months, he literally put nothing down.

46:32.000 --> 46:35.000
We just put like 60 hours this week.

46:35.000 --> 46:38.000
I don't know what he did other than write 60 on the time sheet.

46:38.000 --> 46:41.000
But then at some point, he started writing stuff down.

46:41.000 --> 46:43.000
And I remember he wrote one thing down on one day,

46:43.000 --> 46:47.000
and it was like help Pastor Shelley with water for the North Church.

46:47.000 --> 46:49.000
And I remember that day.

46:49.000 --> 46:50.000
I don't know why.

46:50.000 --> 46:52.000
I just still remember it, I guess.

46:52.000 --> 46:55.000
But we had a North Church plant that was like 20 miles away.

46:55.000 --> 46:57.000
I work a secular job.

46:57.000 --> 46:59.000
And I just let him know.

46:59.000 --> 47:01.000
I said like, hey, we're out of water at this church.

47:01.000 --> 47:04.000
He's like, well, I need you to get water for them.

47:04.000 --> 47:09.000
He's like, why don't you come to the church and you can take the water to the church

47:09.000 --> 47:11.000
and you know, resupply it.

47:11.000 --> 47:13.000
And I was like, sure, fine, whatever.

47:13.000 --> 47:15.000
So I showed up.

47:15.000 --> 47:18.000
Again, he has no other job other than just working for the church.

47:18.000 --> 47:19.000
He can't do it.

47:19.000 --> 47:21.000
I have to do it, right?

47:21.000 --> 47:23.000
But this is what he did do, okay?

47:23.000 --> 47:29.000
He took the water that was near the fridge and moved it near the door.

47:30.000 --> 47:36.000
So when I showed up, I just had to get the water near the door and take it.

47:36.000 --> 47:40.000
That is the one thing he wrote on the timesheet.

47:40.000 --> 47:42.000
So that day, you know what he accomplished?

47:42.000 --> 47:44.000
He said, help Pastor Shelley with water.

47:44.000 --> 47:45.000
You know what he did?

47:45.000 --> 47:47.000
He picked up water near the fridge.

47:47.000 --> 47:50.000
He's like, you just take water from there to near the door.

47:50.000 --> 47:55.000
That is what you put on your timesheet for the entire day.

47:55.000 --> 47:56.000
Wow.

47:56.000 --> 47:58.000
But again, you run into this guy.

47:58.000 --> 47:59.000
I'm just working so hard.

47:59.000 --> 48:00.000
Wow.

48:00.000 --> 48:03.000
I don't want to distract you from that really difficult work.

48:03.000 --> 48:05.000
Why am I making this point?

48:05.000 --> 48:10.000
I'm making this point that people that say things all the time typically are not the doers.

48:10.000 --> 48:14.000
The talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

48:14.000 --> 48:18.000
You know, in all labor there is profit.

48:18.000 --> 48:22.000
When you're working hard, you don't have time to just constantly talk and blah, blah, blah.

48:22.000 --> 48:25.000
Obviously, there's some jobs that involve talking.

48:25.000 --> 48:31.000
But if you don't have a job where you're involved in talking and counseling and selling or doing whatever,

48:31.000 --> 48:35.000
you need to shut up and work.

48:35.000 --> 48:36.000
Okay.

48:36.000 --> 48:38.000
Obviously, there's some jobs that include a lot of talking.

48:38.000 --> 48:41.000
So if you've got a talking job, talk.

48:41.000 --> 48:42.000
Right?

48:42.000 --> 48:45.000
If you don't have a talking job, shut up and work.

48:45.000 --> 48:48.000
And here's a job that we all have, is loving our brother.

48:48.000 --> 48:49.000
And you know what you need to do?

48:49.000 --> 48:52.000
Shut up and just love him by your deeds.

48:52.000 --> 48:55.000
Not by just telling, I just love you so much.

48:55.000 --> 48:57.000
I just love Steadfast Baptist Church.

48:57.000 --> 48:59.000
But I never help anybody.

48:59.000 --> 49:01.000
I never do good to anybody.

49:01.000 --> 49:05.000
I lie and gossip about all the people in my church, but I just love them so much.

49:05.000 --> 49:06.000
You're a liar.

49:06.000 --> 49:09.000
You're a liar and you don't even love God.

49:09.000 --> 49:11.000
Look at chapter 4 verse 7.

49:11.000 --> 49:13.000
I love this entire book.

49:13.000 --> 49:14.000
Chapter 4 verse 7.

49:14.000 --> 49:17.000
Beloved, let us not love one another, or let us love one another for love is of God.

49:17.000 --> 49:19.000
And everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God.

49:19.000 --> 49:22.000
He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love.

49:26.000 --> 49:29.000
And this was manifest love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten son of the world that we might live through him.

49:33.000 --> 49:36.000
Here it is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins.

49:41.000 --> 49:44.000
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

49:44.000 --> 49:46.000
Let me ask you a question.

49:46.000 --> 49:48.000
When you read the New Testament, when you read the Bible, did Jesus go around and be like, hey Peter, I just want to let you know that I love you.

49:54.000 --> 49:56.000
Love you, John.

49:56.000 --> 49:58.000
How did Jesus show his love for Peter and John?

50:00.000 --> 50:02.000
It was dying on the cross.

50:02.000 --> 50:04.000
It was his deeds.

50:04.000 --> 50:06.000
He didn't go around just telling everybody how much he loved them.

50:08.000 --> 50:10.000
He loved them through his actions, through what he did.

50:10.000 --> 50:12.000
Again, we should not be a lover of this by our words, but by our actions.

50:14.000 --> 50:16.000
Again, don't get me wrong.

50:16.000 --> 50:18.000
I am a very pro, like verbal affection type person in the sense that I think that, hey, it is good to confirm your love with your mouth often.

50:24.000 --> 50:26.000
But you know what, you better make sure that your deeds are matching and lining up.

50:30.000 --> 50:32.000
I tell my kids that I love them every day.

50:32.000 --> 50:34.000
I tell my kids that I love them every day.

50:34.000 --> 50:36.000
I tell my kids that I love them every day.

50:36.000 --> 50:38.000
I tell my kids that I love them every day.

50:38.000 --> 50:40.000
I tell my daughters that they are beautiful every day.

50:42.000 --> 50:44.000
I compliment my wife all the time.

50:46.000 --> 50:48.000
I compliment my wife ad nauseam.

50:48.000 --> 50:50.000
To her when I am just not complimenting her, she thinks I am mad at her.

50:54.000 --> 50:56.000
Like, the level of rude in our relationship is me just giving her a so-so compliment.

51:00.000 --> 51:02.000
And I am pro that.

51:02.000 --> 51:04.000
Look, you read the Song of Solomon, I mean, it is just, you are just showering her with a compliment.

51:08.000 --> 51:10.000
But on the other hand, it is just me just ignoring each other with compliments.

51:14.000 --> 51:16.000
And again, all these things are relative in general.

51:16.000 --> 51:18.000
I am pro saying you love your wife.

51:18.000 --> 51:20.000
I am pro complimenting your spouse.

51:20.000 --> 51:22.000
I am pro telling your kids you love them every single day.

51:24.000 --> 51:26.000
But let me tell you something, a dad that tells his kids he loves them every day

51:28.000 --> 51:30.000
and does it with his actions is a hypocrite, doesn't love his kids

51:32.000 --> 51:34.000
and doesn't love God and is meaningless.

51:34.000 --> 51:36.000
You know if your dad loves you.

51:36.000 --> 51:37.780
Pro saying it.

51:37.780 --> 51:40.880
If a dad doesn't say it but shows it through his actions, hey, that's still better than

51:40.880 --> 51:44.580
someone that says it and doesn't do it.

51:44.580 --> 51:46.380
But what's the most important thing?

51:46.380 --> 51:49.020
That we do it.

51:49.020 --> 51:51.500
And you know, with our brothers and sisters in Christ, with our church, you know, what's

51:51.500 --> 51:56.580
more important than saying that I love you guys is just doing things that show that I

51:56.580 --> 51:58.060
love you.

51:58.060 --> 52:01.280
Doing things that actually look like loving things.

52:01.280 --> 52:02.520
Of course, that's what's important.

52:02.520 --> 52:05.760
You know, what would be a loving action of a pastor?

52:05.760 --> 52:09.700
Telling you things that you probably don't want to hear.

52:09.700 --> 52:12.680
Telling you things that might cause you to get mad at me.

52:12.680 --> 52:15.960
Do you think I enjoy people being mad at me?

52:15.960 --> 52:22.320
Do you think I enjoy dealing with issues and problems and conflicts and people having weird

52:22.320 --> 52:24.000
faces?

52:24.000 --> 52:25.920
I don't love that kind of stuff.

52:25.920 --> 52:30.600
Honestly, if you knew me by nature, I'm kind of a people pleaser by nature.

52:30.640 --> 52:34.720
I'm kind of a type of person that tries to actually avoid conflict by nature.

52:34.720 --> 52:40.280
I mean, growing up, I mean, people could just say and do anything to me and I would just

52:40.280 --> 52:44.080
totally just ignore it, let it go and not want to bring it up and just act like it didn't

52:44.080 --> 52:46.720
happen because I just didn't want to deal with it.

52:46.720 --> 52:48.920
I mean, that is the type of person that I am.

52:48.920 --> 52:50.960
But as a pastor, I can't really necessarily do that.

52:50.960 --> 52:54.880
That wouldn't be a good leadership quality to always ignore these things and just always

52:54.880 --> 52:55.880
act like that.

52:55.880 --> 52:59.640
And you know what the loving person does is they don't just let everything go.

53:00.280 --> 53:02.200
You know, they don't suffer sin upon their neighbor.

53:02.200 --> 53:03.200
But you know what?

53:03.200 --> 53:04.200
They rebuke their neighbor.

53:04.200 --> 53:06.160
They correct their neighbor.

53:06.160 --> 53:14.000
The pastor that only preaches the flowery, sweet and sugary sermons does not love you.

53:14.000 --> 53:17.680
He might say it, oh, I just love you guys so much.

53:17.680 --> 53:20.240
We have the greatest church.

53:20.240 --> 53:22.960
But wait a minute.

53:22.960 --> 53:24.480
What is he doing?

53:24.480 --> 53:29.280
You know, I like that I preach that way because I'm never going to change.

53:29.280 --> 53:30.280
I don't have to change.

53:30.280 --> 53:32.840
I don't have to change my preaching at any point.

53:32.840 --> 53:34.800
Like I don't have to get harder.

53:34.800 --> 53:38.360
I mean, I don't know if I could, I would try.

53:38.360 --> 53:42.480
But I'm just saying, like, I don't think I necessarily need to preach harder sermons.

53:42.480 --> 53:46.840
I'm not like nervous, like thinking like, I don't know if I can say this thing.

53:46.840 --> 53:49.560
I don't know if I can go to this passage in the Bible.

53:49.560 --> 53:52.400
I don't know if people are going to be able to handle it.

53:52.400 --> 53:55.320
I'm just thinking like, I think people are going to want me to say this.

53:55.320 --> 53:57.160
I think people are going to like saying this.

53:57.160 --> 54:00.480
That to me is what makes a great church.

54:00.480 --> 54:06.400
Not sitting here and saying, oh, well, we just make everybody feel so good every Sunday

54:06.400 --> 54:08.600
morning or every Sunday night.

54:08.600 --> 54:13.600
You know, you can just tell, I mean, telling somebody that you love them, that's not going

54:13.600 --> 54:15.060
to harm them.

54:15.060 --> 54:16.680
Telling them, hey, you got this screwed up.

54:16.680 --> 54:18.200
Hey, you're messed up.

54:18.200 --> 54:21.440
Hey, but not only are you screwed up, here's how you can fix.

54:21.440 --> 54:22.440
Let me help you.

54:22.440 --> 54:24.840
Let me show you how you can fix this.

54:24.840 --> 54:27.860
Let me come alongside you and encourage you to get right.

54:27.860 --> 54:32.440
Let me try to fix this problem that you have.

54:32.440 --> 54:34.000
That is what real love looks like.

54:34.000 --> 54:36.920
You know, going soul winning, soul winning is a really positive thing.

54:36.920 --> 54:41.080
And there's a lot of people that are genuine and decent soul winners, but sometimes they

54:41.080 --> 54:43.420
say stupid things.

54:43.420 --> 54:44.420
Sometimes they make mistakes.

54:44.420 --> 54:46.340
You know, the loving thing would be like, hey, that was kind of a dumb thing to say

54:46.340 --> 54:47.340
out soul winning.

54:47.340 --> 54:48.640
Hey, you shouldn't act like that.

54:48.640 --> 54:50.040
Hey, you shouldn't talk like that.

54:50.040 --> 54:53.120
Hey, this is a better way to say this.

54:53.120 --> 54:55.600
That's the loving thing to do out soul winning.

54:55.600 --> 54:59.040
Is to try and correct people and help people and encourage people.

54:59.040 --> 55:02.560
Or maybe someone's timid or shy and giving them encouragement, confidence, not being

55:02.560 --> 55:07.720
like, well, I just want to get the next door because I got to get my, you know, 165 salvations

55:07.720 --> 55:09.720
this year or whatever.

55:09.720 --> 55:15.400
You know, maybe it's more important to encourage your partner to get a little better at soul

55:15.400 --> 55:16.400
winning.

55:16.400 --> 55:21.160
Maybe it's better for him to encourage him to get him get a few more salvations rather

55:21.160 --> 55:22.680
than you just sitting here.

55:22.760 --> 55:25.440
I mean, I've been soul winning with people.

55:25.440 --> 55:29.760
You're like, you're kind of like walking to the door and it's kind of your door.

55:29.760 --> 55:36.360
But then they're just kind of like, and you're like, OK.

55:36.360 --> 55:40.080
I mean, hey, it's better than Joe was witness that don't want to knock the door.

55:40.080 --> 55:46.040
And they're kind of like, you know, but it is just kind of like, it's not a competition,

55:46.040 --> 55:47.040
bro.

55:47.040 --> 55:49.080
If you want the door, have it.

55:49.080 --> 55:51.480
If I mean, I preached a lot this afternoon.

55:51.480 --> 55:54.160
That's why I can hardly even talk on a Sunday afternoon.

55:54.160 --> 55:58.880
I'm thinking like, please give me a talker, you know, give me somebody who wants to go

55:58.880 --> 55:59.880
in.

55:59.880 --> 56:03.000
You know, I'm not sitting here just like I have to get every door and I have to get

56:03.000 --> 56:09.480
every person say, you know, that's why I even try like to encourage our number counting.

56:09.480 --> 56:13.360
And what we put out there is like, hey, what did you and your partner get?

56:13.360 --> 56:18.240
Because you know, I don't want people to get this attitude like, well, but I got them

56:18.240 --> 56:19.240
saved, you know.

56:19.400 --> 56:23.920
It's like and look, please be a talker, please be the person showing initiative.

56:23.920 --> 56:27.120
I think that being a talker is superior to being a silent partner.

56:27.120 --> 56:28.360
But you know what?

56:28.360 --> 56:30.640
They're both going to be rewarded for their labor.

56:30.640 --> 56:34.320
And at the end of the day, sometimes it might be better to encourage your partner to become

56:34.320 --> 56:39.800
a talker or be a better talker than just for you to get all the glory.

56:39.800 --> 56:43.000
But there's that sibling rivalry.

56:43.000 --> 56:44.080
I want to get it.

56:44.080 --> 56:46.400
I want to be that person.

56:46.400 --> 56:49.080
Maybe it's more important that they get that person saved.

56:49.160 --> 56:51.880
Maybe they're even better than you.

56:51.880 --> 56:56.360
A lot of people, I mean, a lot of you are just like, I'm a better solar than this guy.

56:56.360 --> 57:00.440
You know, maybe their approach, maybe the way they word things, maybe just their demeanor

57:00.440 --> 57:04.360
could cause some people to want to listen to them differently than you.

57:04.360 --> 57:06.120
Don't don't think that you're always better.

57:06.120 --> 57:11.280
Look, I've been with people that I thought like this person is awkward.

57:11.280 --> 57:14.240
This person speaks weird.

57:14.240 --> 57:15.680
They're goofy.

57:15.680 --> 57:17.320
I feel uncomfortable.

57:17.320 --> 57:20.120
But then I watch them get people saying that I'm thinking like, I don't even know if I

57:20.120 --> 57:22.520
would have gotten that person saved.

57:22.520 --> 57:27.040
You know, and they're just so blunt or weird or awkward and just made it happen or are

57:27.040 --> 57:29.400
stuck with someone that I may not have stuck with or whatever.

57:29.400 --> 57:34.240
And I'm just thinking like, hey, God, if God can use this person, they can use anyone.

57:34.240 --> 57:38.000
And who am I to sit here and criticize other people and think I'm just so much better than

57:38.000 --> 57:38.600
everybody?

57:38.600 --> 57:42.680
Look, there are plenty of women in our church that are some of the best soul winners that

57:42.680 --> 57:43.880
we have.

57:43.880 --> 57:45.280
Oh, well, this is a woman.

57:45.280 --> 57:51.120
Sometimes women can be fantastic soul winners, older, younger.

57:51.120 --> 57:52.640
It doesn't matter.

57:52.640 --> 57:54.960
We all we all have different things to bring to the table.

57:54.960 --> 57:57.880
But again, that sibling rivalry wants to just be like, I'm the best soul winner.

57:57.880 --> 57:59.760
I better get every door.

57:59.760 --> 58:03.960
Now, look, if someone's doing a bad job, if someone's preaching things that are weird,

58:03.960 --> 58:04.760
yeah, let's step in.

58:04.760 --> 58:08.640
Let's take over because someone is too important to just let, you know, the gospel not go

58:08.640 --> 58:10.160
forward correctly.

58:10.160 --> 58:13.560
But if they're giving the gospel correctly and they're doing their job, you know,

58:13.560 --> 58:18.120
sometimes you just let your buddy get in there to get a turn to get that experience.

58:18.120 --> 58:19.360
You know, we should love our brother.

58:19.360 --> 58:20.400
We should encourage our brother.

58:20.400 --> 58:22.960
We should want good for our brother.

58:22.960 --> 58:27.240
Not just always like, well, I got more points than him.

58:27.240 --> 58:28.720
OK, great.

58:28.720 --> 58:31.960
How many assisted you have?

58:31.960 --> 58:37.560
You know, some people care more about goals than they care about assists.

58:37.560 --> 58:39.040
Or just team wins.

58:39.040 --> 58:43.840
They would rather score more goals and lose than have only assists and win.

58:43.840 --> 58:47.480
And, you know, at the end of the day, that's that sibling rivalry, that's the envy.

58:47.480 --> 58:52.080
We should just want the work of the Lord to go successfully.

58:52.080 --> 58:55.000
If God so loved us, we ought to also love one another.

58:55.000 --> 58:59.160
I mean, don't you think Jesus Christ could could just do everything better than us at

58:59.160 --> 59:01.040
all times?

59:01.040 --> 59:06.240
So then why did he have to bow out so early and just leave the disciples to go out?

59:06.400 --> 59:11.680
You know, I think that Jesus could have preached to the Gentiles better than the apostles,

59:11.680 --> 59:13.160
but he wanted to let us get in there.

59:13.160 --> 59:14.160
He wanted to teach them.

59:14.160 --> 59:15.160
He wanted to train them.

59:15.160 --> 59:16.680
He wanted to encourage them.

59:16.680 --> 59:18.500
He condescended the men of low estate.

59:18.500 --> 59:21.040
He spent years teaching and training these guys.

59:21.040 --> 59:26.080
I mean, maybe you could be frustrated being like, why do I have to spend years training

59:26.080 --> 59:27.080
you?

59:27.080 --> 59:29.600
You should learn this in like five minutes.

59:29.600 --> 59:35.920
You know, at the end of the day, we see the patience and the humility of Christ to condescend

59:35.920 --> 59:36.920
the men of low estate.

59:36.920 --> 59:38.920
You know, we should have the same attitude.

59:38.920 --> 59:41.000
Now I want to take this, go to go to Philippians chapter two.

59:41.000 --> 59:42.000
I want to take this sermon.

59:42.000 --> 59:44.560
I want to apply it to a few different areas.

59:44.560 --> 59:49.080
And you know, we could we could just we could really emphasize this point a lot.

59:49.080 --> 59:56.960
But I think this specific verse that we want to that I want to look at really kind of embodies

59:56.960 --> 59:59.040
what our attitude should be.

59:59.040 --> 01:00:02.880
Philippians chapter two, verse three, the Bible says, let nothing be done through strife

01:00:03.120 --> 01:00:11.400
vain glory, but in lowliness of mind, let each esteem other better than themselves.

01:00:11.400 --> 01:00:16.840
Our attitude should be, hey, my brother is more important than me.

01:00:16.840 --> 01:00:18.320
And genuinely believing it.

01:00:18.320 --> 01:00:19.800
This is very hard.

01:00:19.800 --> 01:00:20.800
This is very difficult.

01:00:20.800 --> 01:00:22.680
This is not an easy task.

01:00:22.680 --> 01:00:25.640
It's not an easy task to look at someone else and say, you know, I think this person is

01:00:25.640 --> 01:00:27.500
more important than me.

01:00:27.500 --> 01:00:29.920
I think it's more important for this guy to be successful.

01:00:29.920 --> 01:00:32.080
I think it's more important for this guy to have promotion.

01:00:32.080 --> 01:00:34.720
I think it's more important for this guy's work to go forward.

01:00:34.720 --> 01:00:40.240
I think it's more important to get on board with this guy's vision rather than my own.

01:00:40.240 --> 01:00:41.800
That's very hard for us.

01:00:41.800 --> 01:00:44.780
But that's the right attitude.

01:00:44.780 --> 01:00:46.600
And that's Jesus Christ attitude.

01:00:46.600 --> 01:00:48.940
That's what the whole passage is about.

01:00:48.940 --> 01:00:51.120
That we're not about strife, vain glory.

01:00:51.120 --> 01:00:52.720
No, I'm number one.

01:00:52.720 --> 01:00:53.720
No, I'm the best.

01:00:53.720 --> 01:00:54.720
No, I got it.

01:00:54.720 --> 01:00:55.720
It's like that's vain.

01:00:55.720 --> 01:00:57.960
Don't care about all that.

01:00:58.200 --> 01:01:02.120
Just try to help your brother.

01:01:02.120 --> 01:01:09.040
But in lowliness of mind, let each esteem other better than themselves.

01:01:09.040 --> 01:01:12.600
Looking for finding other people and bragging on them.

01:01:12.600 --> 01:01:16.560
You know, it's easy to brag on yourself because that's what your flesh wants.

01:01:16.560 --> 01:01:20.760
Why don't you find someone else to brag on and lift up and talk positively about and

01:01:20.760 --> 01:01:21.760
get excited about?

01:01:21.760 --> 01:01:26.280
I mean, is there really not another person on this planet you can be excited about?

01:01:27.280 --> 01:01:32.480
Is there not another person that you can cheer lead and be excited for and encourage and

01:01:32.480 --> 01:01:33.720
be a fan of?

01:01:33.720 --> 01:01:36.640
Oh, you're just a new IFB fan club.

01:01:36.640 --> 01:01:38.920
At least I'm a fan of someone.

01:01:38.920 --> 01:01:41.840
At least I'm a fan of something.

01:01:41.840 --> 01:01:44.280
And I'm not just a fan of myself.

01:01:44.280 --> 01:01:51.480
You know, we could get a little bit too I in IFB that it's about I and me and I'm a

01:01:51.480 --> 01:01:52.480
pastor.

01:01:52.480 --> 01:01:57.760
I don't have no associations and I don't have no pope and whatever.

01:01:57.760 --> 01:02:03.200
OK, you with your 12 people in backwoods, congratulations.

01:02:03.200 --> 01:02:05.480
Like who gives a rip?

01:02:05.480 --> 01:02:10.200
You really can't find anybody to like.

01:02:10.200 --> 01:02:12.280
There's no one that you think's awesome.

01:02:12.280 --> 01:02:14.160
There's no one you look up to.

01:02:14.160 --> 01:02:18.120
There's you've you've you've just arrived and then you want to claim you don't have a

01:02:18.120 --> 01:02:19.880
pope because you made yourself the pope.

01:02:19.880 --> 01:02:22.120
That's why.

01:02:22.120 --> 01:02:25.080
There's nothing wrong with being a fan of good men.

01:02:25.080 --> 01:02:30.840
In fact, one of the qualifications of a pastor is to be a lover of good men.

01:02:30.840 --> 01:02:33.280
What's a lover of good men?

01:02:33.280 --> 01:02:38.760
It's someone that does deeds for his brother because it's not by saying it.

01:02:38.760 --> 01:02:41.640
It's someone that's actually doing it when they have need.

01:02:41.640 --> 01:02:44.040
You're there to supply it when they're getting attacked.

01:02:44.040 --> 01:02:47.120
You're there to defend whenever they're going through a hard time.

01:02:47.120 --> 01:02:49.000
You're the shoulder to cry on.

01:02:49.040 --> 01:02:54.080
Whenever they say something bad to you or mean or whatever, you're just like, I'm going

01:02:54.080 --> 01:02:57.000
to let it go because charity cover the multitude of sins.

01:02:59.200 --> 01:03:01.720
Hey, everybody has low moments.

01:03:01.720 --> 01:03:05.000
We all have times in our life that we're not proud of.

01:03:05.000 --> 01:03:08.640
And, you know, at the end of the day, the guy that loves you is not there to kick you

01:03:08.640 --> 01:03:09.640
when you're down.

01:03:09.640 --> 01:03:11.800
They're there to pick you up when you fall.

01:03:14.160 --> 01:03:17.200
To love you, to esteem other better than yourself.

01:03:17.200 --> 01:03:20.640
Many people want to watch others fall so that they're standing the tallest.

01:03:20.640 --> 01:03:21.640
Wow.

01:03:22.640 --> 01:03:23.760
Look at verse 19.

01:03:23.760 --> 01:03:27.920
The Bible says, But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send to Mothias shortly unto you, that

01:03:27.920 --> 01:03:30.720
I also may be of good comfort when I know your state.

01:03:30.720 --> 01:03:38.320
For I have no man like-minded who will naturally care for your state.

01:03:38.320 --> 01:03:44.000
For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ.

01:03:44.000 --> 01:03:47.080
You know, the proof of him that as a son of the Father, he has served with me in the

01:03:47.080 --> 01:03:48.080
gospel.

01:03:48.080 --> 01:03:53.200
The Bible is saying everybody's selfish.

01:03:53.200 --> 01:03:57.180
No one's going to naturally care about you.

01:03:57.180 --> 01:04:02.600
No one naturally gives a rip about you and your finances and whatever.

01:04:02.600 --> 01:04:04.600
You have to put on Christ.

01:04:04.600 --> 01:04:11.040
You have to put on the mind of Christ to actually esteem other better than yourself.

01:04:11.080 --> 01:04:15.320
Because if you don't put on Christ, if you're not walking in the Spirit, all you're going

01:04:15.320 --> 01:04:17.760
to care about is you.

01:04:17.760 --> 01:04:22.040
Your ambitions, your feelings, your attitude.

01:04:22.040 --> 01:04:25.040
People go to church for what they can get out of it.

01:04:25.040 --> 01:04:27.040
You already lost the battle.

01:04:27.040 --> 01:04:31.280
Why are we going to church?

01:04:31.280 --> 01:04:35.520
Well, number one, it should be to worship Jesus and to love Jesus.

01:04:35.520 --> 01:04:39.080
But here's the thing, if you love Jesus, how do you actually do that?

01:04:39.080 --> 01:04:40.520
It's by loving your brother.

01:04:40.520 --> 01:04:42.920
It's by esteeming other better than yourself.

01:04:42.920 --> 01:04:46.760
It's by looking upon another's things and caring for them and encouraging them and being

01:04:46.760 --> 01:04:49.440
positive towards them.

01:04:49.440 --> 01:04:52.040
Not being selfish.

01:04:52.040 --> 01:04:53.040
Not being selfish.

01:04:53.040 --> 01:04:54.040
Go to Proverbs chapter 20.

01:04:54.040 --> 01:04:57.040
Go to Proverbs chapter 20.

01:04:57.040 --> 01:05:03.080
You better buckle up because my voice isn't cracking yet.

01:05:03.080 --> 01:05:07.920
I can't preach as loud as I'd like to, but it's the message that matters.

01:05:07.920 --> 01:05:12.680
It's not how loud I can scream it.

01:05:12.680 --> 01:05:14.200
Proverbs 20 verse 6.

01:05:14.200 --> 01:05:19.960
Most men will proclaim everyone his own goodness, but a faithful man who can find.

01:05:19.960 --> 01:05:21.360
You know what this tells me?

01:05:21.360 --> 01:05:24.960
Most people just suck, you know?

01:05:24.960 --> 01:05:26.680
But even the people that suck, you know what?

01:05:26.680 --> 01:05:31.920
They're going to tell you that they're awesome.

01:05:31.920 --> 01:05:37.520
Most men, it's just saying almost everybody is going to tell you that they're great.

01:05:37.520 --> 01:05:40.440
Almost everybody is going to tell you that they're faithful.

01:05:40.440 --> 01:05:42.840
Almost everybody is going to tell you that they love God.

01:05:42.840 --> 01:05:48.480
Almost everybody is going to tell you that they do right, that they're doing good.

01:05:48.480 --> 01:05:51.080
But then what does God reveal to us?

01:05:51.080 --> 01:05:52.720
God reveals this.

01:05:52.720 --> 01:05:58.080
That the reality is most people are actually bad.

01:05:58.080 --> 01:06:03.760
That it's almost impossible to find the guy that's genuine.

01:06:03.760 --> 01:06:06.680
I'll just be honest with you.

01:06:06.680 --> 01:06:14.760
When I was in 2014, somewhere in that timeline, I found some new IFB preaching.

01:06:14.760 --> 01:06:18.440
At the time it wasn't really a new IFB, but it was Pastor Anderson's preaching and stuff.

01:06:18.440 --> 01:06:20.280
I was really excited about soul winning.

01:06:20.280 --> 01:06:22.920
I was like, I want to go to a good soul winning church.

01:06:22.920 --> 01:06:24.920
I just couldn't find one in my area.

01:06:24.920 --> 01:06:30.240
Then I was like, maybe I should help get a church started or something because this is

01:06:30.240 --> 01:06:31.240
an important need.

01:06:32.200 --> 01:06:36.520
But then I was realizing, I can't just do that overnight.

01:06:36.520 --> 01:06:38.520
I'm not going to just ordain myself.

01:06:44.280 --> 01:06:46.760
Then eventually I found a church that was decent.

01:06:46.760 --> 01:06:49.760
They didn't have a soul winning program, but I was able to get plugged in.

01:06:49.760 --> 01:06:50.600
I felt there was a need.

01:06:50.600 --> 01:06:53.200
I said, man, if I'm looking for a soul winning church, there's got to be other people looking

01:06:53.200 --> 01:06:55.040
for a soul winning church.

01:06:55.040 --> 01:06:58.600
I entertained the idea, maybe I should go in the ministry.

01:06:58.640 --> 01:07:01.280
Eventually I ended up moving to Faith Award Baptist Church.

01:07:01.280 --> 01:07:03.360
I started going there.

01:07:03.360 --> 01:07:06.240
When I was going there, at some point Pastor Anderson started getting a lot of attention

01:07:06.240 --> 01:07:10.160
and started getting all these people coming out of the woodwork, just like, I want to

01:07:10.160 --> 01:07:14.160
be your friend and I'm going to be part of your movement and all these churches.

01:07:14.160 --> 01:07:17.480
I kind of just thought, I don't know if there's really a need for me to do this anymore because

01:07:17.480 --> 01:07:21.720
it just seems like there's just churches popping up everywhere and everybody's doing this.

01:07:21.720 --> 01:07:24.040
But then I remembered something.

01:07:24.040 --> 01:07:26.440
Most people suck.

01:07:26.440 --> 01:07:27.320
There's a lot of fake people.

01:07:27.320 --> 01:07:30.280
Then when Tyler Baker got exposed, I'm telling you, something changed in me again.

01:07:30.280 --> 01:07:31.320
I said, you know what?

01:07:31.320 --> 01:07:40.480
I still want to go in the ministry because I just know most people are just fake.

01:07:40.480 --> 01:07:42.120
Just fake.

01:07:42.120 --> 01:07:44.360
Fake as hell.

01:07:44.360 --> 01:07:48.600
It just pisses me off.

01:07:48.600 --> 01:07:55.160
There's so many people, they're just smarter than me and they're better preachers and maybe

01:07:55.160 --> 01:08:00.120
they're cooler and they have less sins in their past or whatever.

01:08:00.120 --> 01:08:03.480
I said, but there's one thing that I know that I have.

01:08:03.480 --> 01:08:05.760
I'm not fake.

01:08:05.760 --> 01:08:08.760
What you see is what you get.

01:08:08.760 --> 01:08:09.760
I knew this.

01:08:09.760 --> 01:08:12.640
I do love soul winning.

01:08:12.640 --> 01:08:13.640
I really love it.

01:08:13.640 --> 01:08:14.640
So, you know what?

01:08:14.640 --> 01:08:18.560
I was like, hey, I'm going to go in because I know people are just going to come and go.

01:08:18.560 --> 01:08:21.880
People are going to come and go, man.

01:08:21.880 --> 01:08:24.320
You're going to see pastors and churches.

01:08:24.320 --> 01:08:26.600
You serve God for a period of time.

01:08:26.600 --> 01:08:30.320
You're going to see just the craziest, wildest things.

01:08:30.320 --> 01:08:35.880
People are just going to come and go and come and go and fake and weird and creepy and everything

01:08:35.880 --> 01:08:36.880
in between.

01:08:36.880 --> 01:08:37.880
Why?

01:08:37.880 --> 01:08:45.360
Because most men will proclaim everyone is own goodness, but a faithful man who can find.

01:08:45.360 --> 01:08:47.240
And again, how does this relate?

01:08:47.240 --> 01:08:51.520
Because most people just are envious of their brother and they're all just, it's like a

01:08:52.520 --> 01:08:55.240
for pride and attention and vainglory.

01:08:55.240 --> 01:08:56.480
And you know what keeps happening?

01:08:56.480 --> 01:09:01.040
God just keeps picking them off and plucking them off because they're elevating themselves

01:09:01.040 --> 01:09:03.040
for the wrong reasons.

01:09:03.040 --> 01:09:07.640
That's why you see people coming and going constantly because they're all fake.

01:09:07.640 --> 01:09:13.200
And I'll tell you this, the guy that genuinely loves his brother, the guy that genuinely

01:09:13.200 --> 01:09:16.440
loves God, God will elevate him.

01:09:16.480 --> 01:09:21.960
I mean, if you really want to be elevated, try your hardest not to get elevated and just

01:09:21.960 --> 01:09:24.200
love people in private.

01:09:24.200 --> 01:09:29.680
You really, really want to get, you really want to elevate yourself, you can do it.

01:09:29.680 --> 01:09:32.840
But then God's going to be like, I don't like how, what you did.

01:09:32.840 --> 01:09:33.840
Bye.

01:09:33.840 --> 01:09:37.240
And he'll knock you all the way down.

01:09:37.240 --> 01:09:39.560
He'll make it where no one likes you anymore.

01:09:39.560 --> 01:09:46.320
He'll make it where everybody's ashamed of you, where you're an embarrassment to everyone.

01:09:46.560 --> 01:09:50.240
And what I'm trying to say is this, how did someone get to that point?

01:09:50.240 --> 01:09:55.000
Because of envy, they were standing on their brother's shoulders and neck and head to try

01:09:55.000 --> 01:10:00.040
and get a little bit taller instead of just simply loving their brother and doing good

01:10:00.040 --> 01:10:03.680
and allowing God to elevate them in due time.

01:10:03.680 --> 01:10:05.680
The sibling rivalry.

01:10:05.680 --> 01:10:11.280
And I'm just telling you, envy is destroying so many people.

01:10:11.280 --> 01:10:14.000
Stop being in competition with your brother.

01:10:14.000 --> 01:10:18.200
Instead of standing on his shoulders, lift somebody up.

01:10:18.200 --> 01:10:20.960
Pick somebody up.

01:10:20.960 --> 01:10:22.400
Find someone to pick up.

01:10:22.400 --> 01:10:25.680
Oh, you're just a fan of these other people.

01:10:25.680 --> 01:10:26.680
Good.

01:10:26.680 --> 01:10:33.560
I mean, didn't they have to hold up Moses's hands so they could win the battle?

01:10:33.560 --> 01:10:35.880
What if they were like, let's stand on Moses?

01:10:35.880 --> 01:10:39.440
Well, probably wouldn't have won the battle.

01:10:39.920 --> 01:10:44.120
Erin and her, you know, grab Moses's arms and they're just holding them up and they

01:10:44.120 --> 01:10:45.120
win the battle.

01:10:45.120 --> 01:10:46.120
Because you know what?

01:10:46.120 --> 01:10:47.520
We need other people.

01:10:47.520 --> 01:10:49.160
No one can do this on their own.

01:10:49.160 --> 01:10:52.760
No one is just the goat by themselves.

01:10:52.760 --> 01:10:54.040
We're a team.

01:10:54.040 --> 01:10:55.040
And you know what?

01:10:55.040 --> 01:10:56.240
The other day we need God on our side.

01:10:56.240 --> 01:10:59.680
And if we want God on our side, we have to genuinely love our brother.

01:10:59.680 --> 01:11:02.280
Go to Ephesians chapter one, go to Ephesians chapter one.

01:11:02.280 --> 01:11:04.480
I'm going to apply this sermon a couple of ways and then we'll finish.

01:11:05.240 --> 01:11:09.520
You know, this sibling rivalry is just gross.

01:11:09.520 --> 01:11:10.760
I hate it.

01:11:10.760 --> 01:11:12.520
It's disgusting.

01:11:12.520 --> 01:11:13.520
It looks gross.

01:11:13.520 --> 01:11:14.800
It sounds gross.

01:11:14.800 --> 01:11:18.040
And you see it all the time.

01:11:18.040 --> 01:11:22.080
And I'll be honest, I struggle with it just as much as anybody else, especially

01:11:22.080 --> 01:11:24.720
when I was younger.

01:11:24.720 --> 01:11:31.200
My mom was a licensed therapist who helped actual abused children.

01:11:31.240 --> 01:11:32.960
I know there's a lot of kids out there claiming they're abused.

01:11:32.960 --> 01:11:33.960
It's fake.

01:11:33.960 --> 01:11:34.960
OK?

01:11:34.960 --> 01:11:37.360
There are really abused kids.

01:11:37.360 --> 01:11:38.560
And let me tell you something.

01:11:38.560 --> 01:11:39.560
You can tell.

01:11:39.560 --> 01:11:43.040
There's a difference.

01:11:43.040 --> 01:11:44.040
She felt so bad.

01:11:44.040 --> 01:11:47.240
She had just a heart for people and a heart for children and stuff that she kind of like

01:11:47.240 --> 01:11:50.720
wanted to adopt kids all the time.

01:11:50.720 --> 01:11:52.120
And I remember asking me about that.

01:11:52.120 --> 01:11:56.360
Like how would you feel if we just adopted one of these kids or whatever?

01:11:56.360 --> 01:11:59.720
And I mean, I remember just being selfish in my mind and thinking like, I don't really

01:11:59.760 --> 01:12:00.760
want that.

01:12:01.360 --> 01:12:08.480
I want to bring that into our home or split attention or split finances or split whatever.

01:12:08.480 --> 01:12:12.200
Just being a carnal selfish little kid was just like, I don't want that.

01:12:12.200 --> 01:12:13.200
You know what?

01:12:13.200 --> 01:12:14.200
That's not necessarily the right attitude.

01:12:14.200 --> 01:12:16.800
And here's the thing.

01:12:16.800 --> 01:12:18.760
My parents didn't actually do it.

01:12:18.760 --> 01:12:22.320
But if they had, you know, what would be my attitude towards this person?

01:12:22.320 --> 01:12:29.320
Well, I could treat them poorly because I could say, oh, I'm their real son.

01:12:29.320 --> 01:12:30.320
They're just adopted.

01:12:30.320 --> 01:12:33.440
You know, that's a wicked, evil attitude.

01:12:33.440 --> 01:12:35.400
That's the wrong attitude.

01:12:35.400 --> 01:12:39.600
And when it comes to God, you know, we are adopted in this family.

01:12:39.600 --> 01:12:43.440
Look at Ephesians chapter one, verse five.

01:12:43.440 --> 01:12:49.440
Having predestinated us under the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself.

01:12:49.440 --> 01:12:53.280
So we've been adopted into God's family through Jesus Christ.

01:12:53.280 --> 01:12:59.440
The reason why we are adopted is because our brother Jesus got us into the family.

01:12:59.440 --> 01:13:01.240
He wasn't afraid of us being adopted.

01:13:01.240 --> 01:13:03.240
He wanted us to be adopted.

01:13:03.240 --> 01:13:04.240
Look at Galatians.

01:13:04.240 --> 01:13:05.240
Just flip to the left.

01:13:05.240 --> 01:13:11.800
Galatians chapter four, just maybe one page back, verse five, to redeem them that were

01:13:11.800 --> 01:13:15.560
under the law that we might receive the adoption of sons.

01:13:15.560 --> 01:13:17.400
We didn't become adoption of servants.

01:13:17.400 --> 01:13:18.680
We're sons.

01:13:18.680 --> 01:13:20.960
When you're adopted, you're in the family.

01:13:20.960 --> 01:13:22.680
You're not like a second class citizen in the family.

01:13:22.680 --> 01:13:25.120
Go to Romans chapter eight.

01:13:25.120 --> 01:13:28.280
Go to Romans chapter number eight and look at verse 15.

01:13:28.280 --> 01:13:29.560
Romans chapter number eight.

01:13:29.560 --> 01:13:33.280
Look at verse number 15.

01:13:33.280 --> 01:13:36.760
The Bible says, for ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received

01:13:36.760 --> 01:13:43.640
the spirit of adoption whereby we cry, Abba, father.

01:13:43.640 --> 01:13:48.720
Notice that even though you're adopted, it's your father.

01:13:48.720 --> 01:13:51.240
It's not a different relationship.

01:13:51.240 --> 01:13:53.720
It's not a subservient relationship.

01:13:53.720 --> 01:13:55.720
It is your father.

01:13:55.720 --> 01:13:57.880
That's what real adoption looks like.

01:13:57.880 --> 01:14:00.680
We should not look down upon those who are adopted.

01:14:00.680 --> 01:14:04.600
They're just as legitimate as the non-adopted.

01:14:04.600 --> 01:14:08.080
Look at verse 23.

01:14:08.080 --> 01:14:14.080
He says, and not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first roots of the spirit,

01:14:14.080 --> 01:14:18.760
even we ourselves grown within ourselves, waiting for the adoption to with the redemption

01:14:18.760 --> 01:14:19.760
of our body.

01:14:20.280 --> 01:14:21.280
I want to go to one more place.

01:14:21.280 --> 01:14:22.280
Go to Hebrew chapter number two.

01:14:22.280 --> 01:14:24.000
Go to Hebrew chapter number two.

01:14:24.000 --> 01:14:31.920
If anybody has a situation where you've been adopted, you have an adopted child, one of

01:14:31.920 --> 01:14:35.560
your siblings is adopted, you are adopted, it doesn't matter.

01:14:35.560 --> 01:14:42.600
Any of these scenarios, what an evil and wicked thing to say would be to put them down or

01:14:42.600 --> 01:14:47.320
to try and make some kind of differentiation like, well, I'm the real sibling and you're

01:14:47.320 --> 01:14:48.600
the adopted sibling.

01:14:48.600 --> 01:14:51.440
That's evil and wicked.

01:14:51.440 --> 01:14:53.200
Look at Hebrews chapter two.

01:14:53.200 --> 01:14:54.880
Look at verse 11.

01:14:54.880 --> 01:15:01.640
For both he that sanctify it and they who are sanctified are all of one for which cause

01:15:01.640 --> 01:15:06.840
he is not ashamed to call them brethren.

01:15:06.840 --> 01:15:17.440
If Jesus is not ashamed to call me his brother, how much more wicked is it for you to be ashamed

01:15:17.440 --> 01:15:21.240
of your sibling even if they were quote adopted?

01:15:21.240 --> 01:15:31.440
I mean, we're talking about the God of the universe is not ashamed to call me his brother.

01:15:31.440 --> 01:15:36.000
And you're over here like, well, not really my brother.

01:15:36.000 --> 01:15:37.000
They're adopted.

01:15:37.000 --> 01:15:38.200
You're evil.

01:15:38.200 --> 01:15:40.520
That's an evil thought.

01:15:40.520 --> 01:15:42.360
It's a wicked thought.

01:15:43.360 --> 01:15:47.960
If Jesus is ashamed to call me his brother, then we should never be ashamed of someone

01:15:47.960 --> 01:15:48.960
who's adopted.

01:15:48.960 --> 01:15:52.240
Hey, that's my brother.

01:15:52.240 --> 01:15:54.800
And hey, that's their dad.

01:15:54.800 --> 01:15:55.800
That's their mom.

01:15:55.800 --> 01:15:58.560
And you know, what does it even accomplish?

01:15:58.560 --> 01:15:59.560
Even if it was true?

01:15:59.560 --> 01:16:01.480
What would it accomplish?

01:16:01.480 --> 01:16:03.040
You're not really a brother.

01:16:03.040 --> 01:16:06.160
All you're trying to do is tear them down and make them feel like trash.

01:16:06.160 --> 01:16:10.080
Why wouldn't you want them if they've been abandoned by their family or had a weird situation

01:16:10.080 --> 01:16:11.080
or whatever?

01:16:11.080 --> 01:16:13.000
Why wouldn't you want them to feel accepted?

01:16:13.000 --> 01:16:14.000
You know what?

01:16:14.000 --> 01:16:15.000
Praise God.

01:16:15.000 --> 01:16:16.760
Jesus makes me feel accepted in God's family.

01:16:16.760 --> 01:16:21.040
I don't feel like, well, I'm kind of adopted.

01:16:21.040 --> 01:16:22.880
You know, no, no, no.

01:16:22.880 --> 01:16:26.080
God loves me just as much as he loves anybody else.

01:16:26.080 --> 01:16:28.080
And we're all adopted.

01:16:28.080 --> 01:16:30.080
Praise God for adoption.

01:16:30.080 --> 01:16:33.360
Isn't that great?

01:16:33.360 --> 01:16:34.360
Adoption is a beautiful thing.

01:16:34.360 --> 01:16:36.360
Go over to Luke chapter 15.

01:16:36.360 --> 01:16:37.960
Go to Luke chapter 15.

01:16:37.960 --> 01:16:44.920
Again, just for a caveat, I don't agree with baby picking, which is sometimes labeled

01:16:44.920 --> 01:16:46.800
as adoption.

01:16:46.800 --> 01:16:49.760
But genuine adoption is a beautiful thing.

01:16:49.760 --> 01:16:54.600
Baby picking is where you go and you just like basically just find somebody and steal

01:16:54.600 --> 01:16:58.360
their child and give them a bunch of money and rob them from their mother right after

01:16:58.360 --> 01:16:59.960
birth.

01:16:59.960 --> 01:17:02.400
I'm very against that.

01:17:03.400 --> 01:17:08.600
Someone was telling me that there was like two fags or something that like hired some

01:17:08.600 --> 01:17:14.360
guy's wife to be the surrogate so that they could adopt.

01:17:14.360 --> 01:17:16.360
That is not adoption.

01:17:16.360 --> 01:17:19.000
That is pedophilia.

01:17:19.000 --> 01:17:22.680
That is tie a millstone around their neck and throw them in the depths of the sea.

01:17:22.680 --> 01:17:26.720
And what weird freak would allow his wife to go down that road?

01:17:26.720 --> 01:17:27.720
Okay.

01:17:27.960 --> 01:17:32.720
But look, there are genuine children in this world that are orphaned or have been abandoned

01:17:32.720 --> 01:17:34.680
or had a bad situation.

01:17:34.680 --> 01:17:35.680
Perhaps their parents died.

01:17:35.680 --> 01:17:38.920
And if someone took them in, praise God, that's a beautiful picture.

01:17:38.920 --> 01:17:40.520
It's a wonderful picture.

01:17:40.520 --> 01:17:41.520
It's a picture of the gospel.

01:17:41.520 --> 01:17:43.120
It's a picture of Christ.

01:17:43.120 --> 01:17:44.120
I'm very pro-adoption.

01:17:44.120 --> 01:17:49.240
I'm very against baby picking and all this other weird stuff.

01:17:49.240 --> 01:17:53.320
Luke chapter 15, look at verse 18.

01:17:53.320 --> 01:17:54.320
I will arise.

01:17:54.320 --> 01:17:55.320
This is the prodigal son.

01:17:55.720 --> 01:18:00.120
Let me give you a back story, I guess, before I read these verses.

01:18:00.120 --> 01:18:02.520
So point one, or the first application was adoption.

01:18:02.520 --> 01:18:03.520
Here's another one.

01:18:03.520 --> 01:18:05.200
What about just blood siblings?

01:18:05.200 --> 01:18:06.800
You could be mad at a blood sibling.

01:18:06.800 --> 01:18:08.300
This is wrong too.

01:18:08.300 --> 01:18:13.120
In the prodigal son story, it's two sons that are blood-born sons.

01:18:13.120 --> 01:18:15.180
These are not adoption scenarios.

01:18:15.180 --> 01:18:19.240
But the one went off and spent all the fathers living on riotous living and harlots and this

01:18:19.240 --> 01:18:20.240
kind of stuff.

01:18:20.240 --> 01:18:22.320
He comes back and he says this in verse 18.

01:18:22.320 --> 01:18:24.840
I will rise and go to my father and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against

01:18:24.840 --> 01:18:30.600
heaven and before thee, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

01:18:30.600 --> 01:18:31.800
Make me as one of thy hired servants.

01:18:31.800 --> 01:18:36.720
So here's a brother who is a terrible brother.

01:18:36.720 --> 01:18:39.160
Not only is he a terrible brother, he's a terrible son.

01:18:39.160 --> 01:18:42.180
And arguably, he's the worst kid in the family.

01:18:42.180 --> 01:18:44.880
The black sheep of the family.

01:18:44.880 --> 01:18:46.880
Why is it the black sheep?

01:18:46.880 --> 01:18:48.880
Ever wondered that?

01:18:48.880 --> 01:18:54.080
Just throwing it out there.

01:18:54.080 --> 01:18:56.960
He is a screw up.

01:18:56.960 --> 01:19:02.640
There's no reason to like this guy over the other.

01:19:02.640 --> 01:19:10.120
But he feels like I'm not even worthy to be called a son.

01:19:10.120 --> 01:19:11.120
But you know, he is a son.

01:19:11.120 --> 01:19:16.920
And you know, it would be wrong to say, oh, you're not a son because you're a bad son.

01:19:16.920 --> 01:19:20.680
Nope, even bad sons are still sons.

01:19:20.680 --> 01:19:23.600
And of course, the father doesn't have this attitude.

01:19:24.600 --> 01:19:27.600
But when he arose and came to his father, but when he was yet a great way off, his father

01:19:27.600 --> 01:19:31.920
saw him and had compassion and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

01:19:31.920 --> 01:19:35.240
And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven in thy sight, and am no more

01:19:35.240 --> 01:19:36.680
worthy to be called thy son.

01:19:36.680 --> 01:19:41.160
But the father said to his servants, bring forth the best robe and put it on him and

01:19:41.160 --> 01:19:44.780
put a ring on his hand and shoes on his feet and bring it to the fattened calf and kill

01:19:44.780 --> 01:19:46.320
it and let us eat and be merry.

01:19:46.320 --> 01:19:49.040
For this my son was dead and is alive again.

01:19:49.040 --> 01:19:52.060
He was lost in his found and they began to be merry.

01:19:52.060 --> 01:19:55.900
Now his elder son was in the field, and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard

01:19:55.900 --> 01:19:56.900
music and dancing.

01:19:56.900 --> 01:20:01.740
And he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant.

01:20:01.740 --> 01:20:04.540
And he said to him, thy brother has come and thy father has killed the fattened calf because

01:20:04.540 --> 01:20:06.460
he hath received him safe and sound.

01:20:06.460 --> 01:20:08.860
And he was angry.

01:20:08.860 --> 01:20:14.580
What's his first, hey, your brother just got right with God, got right with dad.

01:20:14.580 --> 01:20:15.780
Dad's happy.

01:20:15.780 --> 01:20:17.260
And what's your reaction?

01:20:17.260 --> 01:20:18.260
You're mad.

01:20:18.260 --> 01:20:19.260
You're angry.

01:20:19.260 --> 01:20:21.540
You're upset about it.

01:20:21.860 --> 01:20:23.660
Again, sibling rivalry.

01:20:23.660 --> 01:20:26.420
Why wouldn't you be excited that your brother's back?

01:20:26.420 --> 01:20:29.300
Why wouldn't you be excited that your dad likes your brother?

01:20:29.300 --> 01:20:30.700
Why?

01:20:30.700 --> 01:20:32.180
Why is he mad?

01:20:32.180 --> 01:20:36.580
Because one guy's getting more attention from dad than him.

01:20:36.580 --> 01:20:42.680
We're having a party tonight and it's not about you, it's about him.

01:20:42.680 --> 01:20:47.620
And because of that attention, he got envious of that attention.

01:20:47.660 --> 01:20:52.020
He's going to tell us that he's envious.

01:20:52.020 --> 01:20:56.020
He was angry and would not go, he won't even join the party.

01:20:56.020 --> 01:20:57.540
He's separating from the new IFB.

01:20:57.540 --> 01:21:00.140
You know what I mean?

01:21:00.140 --> 01:21:02.180
Therefore came his father out and he treated him.

01:21:02.180 --> 01:21:07.380
And he answering said to his father, lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed

01:21:07.380 --> 01:21:12.980
I at any time thy commandment, and yet thou never gaveest me a kid that I might make merry

01:21:12.980 --> 01:21:16.020
with my friends.

01:21:16.020 --> 01:21:22.460
Now, the more I live my life, I realize that kids are liars.

01:21:22.460 --> 01:21:24.740
Let's just say this is even real.

01:21:24.740 --> 01:21:28.740
That dad never did anything nice to this one.

01:21:28.740 --> 01:21:33.700
That legitimately the prodigal son is the only one that got the feast.

01:21:33.700 --> 01:21:38.740
He got the special birthday party when he turned 12 and you didn't.

01:21:38.740 --> 01:21:40.660
You know what?

01:21:40.660 --> 01:21:43.700
Why would you still be mad about it?

01:21:43.700 --> 01:21:44.860
Why can't you be excited?

01:21:45.020 --> 01:21:48.700
Should I really think, I hope that my parents hate my brother.

01:21:48.700 --> 01:21:52.580
Wouldn't you be like, I kind of want my parents to like my brother.

01:21:52.580 --> 01:21:53.580
Why would I not?

01:21:53.580 --> 01:21:57.540
I want my brother to get good things to happen to him.

01:21:57.540 --> 01:21:58.540
Is it really bad?

01:21:58.540 --> 01:22:02.740
I mean, is there a bad thing that dad was nice to my brother?

01:22:02.740 --> 01:22:05.780
Wouldn't you be mad if dad was not nice to your brother?

01:22:05.780 --> 01:22:08.620
Wouldn't you be mad if dad didn't do good under your brother?

01:22:08.620 --> 01:22:10.020
Wouldn't you be mad?

01:22:10.020 --> 01:22:13.700
Why is it bad that dad did something good to your brother?

01:22:15.620 --> 01:22:17.820
It's because you're envious and selfish.

01:22:17.820 --> 01:22:19.220
That's the problem.

01:22:19.220 --> 01:22:21.780
The problem is not that dad loves your brother.

01:22:21.780 --> 01:22:25.260
The problem is that you're envious and that you're selfish.

01:22:25.260 --> 01:22:27.540
And you say, I never got in this party.

01:22:30.660 --> 01:22:32.620
I never got to go on the fishing trip.

01:22:34.900 --> 01:22:35.980
I never got.

01:22:35.980 --> 01:22:39.860
Look, I've heard this kind of crap a lot growing up.

01:22:40.700 --> 01:22:44.460
It was just like, I never got that kind of a car.

01:22:44.460 --> 01:22:46.460
I never got to play this.

01:22:46.460 --> 01:22:49.300
You know, I love my brother and sister, OK?

01:22:49.300 --> 01:22:52.420
But they had this story a lot.

01:22:52.420 --> 01:22:57.380
It was like, I apparently got everything I could ever wish for, supposedly.

01:22:57.380 --> 01:22:58.100
And they didn't.

01:22:58.100 --> 01:23:00.340
It's just like, oh, John, I never got that.

01:23:00.340 --> 01:23:03.460
You know, John gets all this and John gets all that.

01:23:03.460 --> 01:23:06.700
It's like, yeah, but OK.

01:23:06.700 --> 01:23:12.420
I know that they got serious gifts and huge chunks of money at periods in their

01:23:12.420 --> 01:23:14.620
life that I never got.

01:23:14.620 --> 01:23:16.220
They don't want to bring up that part.

01:23:16.220 --> 01:23:18.580
It's like, yeah, but I didn't get this.

01:23:18.580 --> 01:23:21.700
It's like, bro, I'm sure you got something.

01:23:21.700 --> 01:23:23.700
Dad probably didn't zip you 100%.

01:23:23.700 --> 01:23:25.420
But even if he did, you know what?

01:23:25.420 --> 01:23:28.660
Why don't you just see mother better than yourself?

01:23:28.660 --> 01:23:31.700
This guy probably needs the party more than me because I'm not going anywhere

01:23:31.700 --> 01:23:33.060
anyways.

01:23:33.060 --> 01:23:35.340
This guy's getting the party, so maybe he'll stay.

01:23:35.340 --> 01:23:36.580
So maybe he'll get right with dad.

01:23:36.580 --> 01:23:38.380
So maybe he'll do good.

01:23:38.380 --> 01:23:44.700
Look, it's stupid to get mad when something good happens to your brother.

01:23:44.700 --> 01:23:45.260
It's wicked.

01:23:45.260 --> 01:23:45.900
It's evil.

01:23:49.260 --> 01:23:52.820
It says in verse 30, but as soon as this thy son.

01:23:52.820 --> 01:23:53.780
Notice it's not his brother.

01:23:53.780 --> 01:23:55.660
It's thy son, right?

01:23:55.660 --> 01:23:56.740
He's got to distance himself.

01:23:56.740 --> 01:23:59.380
Was come, which hath delivered thy living with harlots.

01:23:59.380 --> 01:24:01.700
Thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

01:24:01.700 --> 01:24:06.420
And he said to him, son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

01:24:06.420 --> 01:24:09.420
It was meat that we should make merry and be glad for this thy brother was dead and

01:24:09.420 --> 01:24:11.900
is alive again and was lost and is found.

01:24:11.900 --> 01:24:12.900
Again, what is the parable?

01:24:12.900 --> 01:24:19.540
It's probably most applicable to just Hebrews being mad that Gentiles got saved.

01:24:19.540 --> 01:24:23.500
Because didn't the Gentiles have a lot of riots as living and a lot of prostitutes and

01:24:23.500 --> 01:24:24.300
a lot of harlots?

01:24:24.300 --> 01:24:25.740
Yeah, probably.

01:24:25.740 --> 01:24:30.180
And then it's like the Jews are just mad that now they're saved and now dad's excited

01:24:30.180 --> 01:24:34.060
to have them and dad's throwing them a feast and now they're in the church and now

01:24:34.060 --> 01:24:35.100
they're being used.

01:24:35.100 --> 01:24:40.540
And you got pastors named Tomothius and you got pastors named Titus and it's not, you

01:24:40.540 --> 01:24:43.220
know, Weinstein or whatever.

01:24:43.220 --> 01:24:47.820
It's not Hawk Flem and they're just kind of thinking like, ah, why aren't you just happy

01:24:47.820 --> 01:24:49.580
that Timothy's a pastor?

01:24:49.580 --> 01:24:51.780
Why aren't you happy that Titus is a pastor?

01:24:51.780 --> 01:24:56.700
Why aren't you happy that there's churches literally everywhere, all of Asia, going into

01:24:56.700 --> 01:24:57.700
all these parts of the world?

01:24:57.700 --> 01:25:00.780
Now it's got to be Jerusalem.

01:25:00.780 --> 01:25:04.820
Well your stupid envy and pride is ugly.

01:25:04.820 --> 01:25:07.180
It's just ugly and no one likes it.

01:25:07.180 --> 01:25:08.180
And you know what?

01:25:08.180 --> 01:25:09.580
Why don't you just be excited for your brother?

01:25:09.580 --> 01:25:11.020
But you know what?

01:25:11.020 --> 01:25:14.340
People just get so mad about parents having favorites.

01:25:14.340 --> 01:25:19.580
And you know, at the end of the day, most parents, they don't really even have a favorite.

01:25:19.580 --> 01:25:20.580
It's hard.

01:25:20.580 --> 01:25:21.580
It's hard for me.

01:25:21.580 --> 01:25:24.180
I have seven children.

01:25:24.180 --> 01:25:28.900
And I'm not lying when I say like, if someone's like, what's your favorite kid?

01:25:28.900 --> 01:25:31.100
I can't pick one.

01:25:31.100 --> 01:25:32.620
And it's not because I'm a liar.

01:25:32.620 --> 01:25:35.420
If I had one, I'd just be like, this is my favorite kid.

01:25:35.420 --> 01:25:36.420
But they're all different.

01:25:36.420 --> 01:25:39.300
They're all so different and they have so many cool different aspects.

01:25:39.300 --> 01:25:42.020
They have some different hard aspects too.

01:25:42.020 --> 01:25:44.380
But it's like, hey, I like them all.

01:25:44.380 --> 01:25:46.140
I love them all.

01:25:46.140 --> 01:25:49.740
But sometimes you give some kids more attention than others, don't you?

01:25:49.740 --> 01:25:52.260
And in the story, who's getting the most attention?

01:25:52.260 --> 01:25:56.740
It's the troubled kid.

01:25:56.740 --> 01:25:59.180
Sometimes you get, sometimes your brother or sister's getting more attention because

01:25:59.180 --> 01:26:00.180
they're troubled.

01:26:01.140 --> 01:26:02.900
Maybe they get more attention because they're older.

01:26:02.900 --> 01:26:06.180
And look, your parents are probably going to connect with the older kids the most because

01:26:06.180 --> 01:26:07.180
they're more mature.

01:26:07.180 --> 01:26:08.740
They spent more time with them.

01:26:08.740 --> 01:26:09.740
Get over it.

01:26:09.740 --> 01:26:13.300
If you're the if you're the runt of the family, just be happy that they still have a good

01:26:13.300 --> 01:26:14.900
relationship.

01:26:14.900 --> 01:26:18.780
My sister and brother always had closer relationships with my parents than me.

01:26:18.780 --> 01:26:19.780
You know what?

01:26:19.780 --> 01:26:20.780
I'm not mad about that.

01:26:20.780 --> 01:26:23.740
I'm glad they got to have a good relationship with my parents because my parents are great

01:26:23.740 --> 01:26:25.300
people.

01:26:25.300 --> 01:26:27.740
I have great parents.

01:26:27.780 --> 01:26:30.980
Why would I be mad that my brother gets to hang out with them?

01:26:30.980 --> 01:26:33.020
Look, my brother lives here.

01:26:33.020 --> 01:26:38.660
And when my dad comes to visit, he spends three fourths the time there or more.

01:26:38.660 --> 01:26:42.420
And I'm not sitting here just like it's like great.

01:26:42.420 --> 01:26:44.220
I'm so glad.

01:26:44.220 --> 01:26:45.860
Praise God.

01:26:45.860 --> 01:26:49.140
Why are we we're not in a competition.

01:26:49.140 --> 01:26:53.100
If my parents just even said, I like them more than you.

01:26:53.100 --> 01:26:54.660
Praise God.

01:26:54.660 --> 01:26:56.220
I don't care.

01:26:56.220 --> 01:26:59.660
Get over it, you big wussy.

01:27:01.580 --> 01:27:05.300
It's better than if they said, I hate your brother and sister.

01:27:05.300 --> 01:27:07.780
That's a problem.

01:27:07.780 --> 01:27:13.100
I'm not we shouldn't be upset when our parents love our brothers and sisters.

01:27:13.100 --> 01:27:14.980
For sake of time, I'm not going to go to go to Proverbs 27.

01:27:14.980 --> 01:27:16.260
I'm not going to read the story.

01:27:16.260 --> 01:27:18.700
What's another one? How about mixed families?

01:27:18.700 --> 01:27:20.860
Isn't Joseph's brethren?

01:27:20.860 --> 01:27:25.980
When he tells them about the dream, the Bible says they envied him and they want to kill

01:27:25.980 --> 01:27:27.580
him and destroy his dreams.

01:27:27.580 --> 01:27:29.660
Why? Because God's showing favoritism to him.

01:27:29.660 --> 01:27:32.420
And here's the thing, not only do our parents sometimes have favorites, let me tell you

01:27:32.420 --> 01:27:34.700
something. God has favorites.

01:27:34.700 --> 01:27:39.340
And you know what? Sometimes God gives a little bit more attention to somebody other than

01:27:39.340 --> 01:27:40.660
you.

01:27:40.660 --> 01:27:45.620
And you know what? Instead of being mad about God showing attention to someone else, you

01:27:45.620 --> 01:27:49.900
know what? You should be excited for that person, that God is showing them attention.

01:27:49.900 --> 01:27:55.020
You know, many people want to do is they want to kill them to steal that attention, like

01:27:55.060 --> 01:27:58.660
Cain did to Abel, like Joseph's brethren did unto his brethren.

01:27:58.820 --> 01:28:00.100
It's wicked. It's evil.

01:28:02.540 --> 01:28:06.500
Proverbs, chapter 27, look at verse number four.

01:28:09.660 --> 01:28:13.460
Wrath is cruel and anger is outrageous.

01:28:14.180 --> 01:28:16.220
But who is able to stand before envy?

01:28:17.620 --> 01:28:19.420
So why do people separate from the new IFB?

01:28:20.780 --> 01:28:21.780
Envy.

01:28:21.780 --> 01:28:24.900
Why are they mad at us?

01:28:25.820 --> 01:28:29.700
Because they don't like the attention that God is showing them.

01:28:30.820 --> 01:28:34.140
They don't like the attention that God has shown different pastors.

01:28:34.500 --> 01:28:36.300
Why do they separate from Pastor Anderson?

01:28:37.300 --> 01:28:45.060
Because they want to be the online guru, because they want all the fame, because they

01:28:45.060 --> 01:28:46.500
want all the salvations.

01:28:47.380 --> 01:28:49.340
But you know what? They don't want to work for it.

01:28:49.860 --> 01:28:52.300
They don't want to work for it.

01:28:53.220 --> 01:28:58.300
They just want to tear him down or others down so that they can look like they're on

01:28:58.300 --> 01:29:01.220
top. And you know, it's not just Pastor Anderson.

01:29:01.260 --> 01:29:05.220
It's not about him. It's about someone that God is showing favor for and using.

01:29:05.860 --> 01:29:07.380
What's another guy? How about Jack Hiles?

01:29:08.420 --> 01:29:12.020
Someone that God showed a lot of favor towards and used greatly and got a lot of people

01:29:12.020 --> 01:29:14.060
saved. So you know what a lot of Baptists did?

01:29:14.260 --> 01:29:17.340
A lot of Baptists said, so when he doesn't work.

01:29:18.180 --> 01:29:20.180
Wow. Quick prayerism.

01:29:20.980 --> 01:29:22.500
Why? Why do they say that?

01:29:23.340 --> 01:29:27.980
Because they want to take away those numbers to make it seem like God didn't really use

01:29:27.980 --> 01:29:33.380
them because they're envious of the attention that's so obvious that God is giving

01:29:33.380 --> 01:29:37.460
unto them because they don't want anybody to look at and say, hey, wow, God really likes

01:29:37.460 --> 01:29:39.860
this person. God really used this person.

01:29:39.980 --> 01:29:43.140
So you have to strip it away and then to say, oh, it was all fake.

01:29:43.900 --> 01:29:45.820
Oh, and by the way, some of his kids are bad.

01:29:46.820 --> 01:29:47.980
We're talking about Jack Hiles.

01:29:47.980 --> 01:29:49.900
Sorry if you got confused on what I was talking about.

01:29:51.420 --> 01:29:53.580
Oh, and there's a bunch of active Jason's.

01:29:54.020 --> 01:29:55.860
Oh, and he preached really mean.

01:29:57.820 --> 01:29:58.940
Sorry, God used him.

01:29:59.820 --> 01:30:02.780
So you'll notice when people separate, you know what they try to do?

01:30:02.780 --> 01:30:05.140
They attack soul winning. They attack numbers.

01:30:05.420 --> 01:30:06.660
They attack all these things.

01:30:06.660 --> 01:30:11.100
Why? Because they don't like the attention that God is giving to that person instead of,

01:30:11.100 --> 01:30:14.620
you know what, loving their brother and being like, I'm so glad you got that person safe.

01:30:14.820 --> 01:30:16.380
I'm so glad that God is using you.

01:30:16.380 --> 01:30:19.220
I'm so glad that you're doing great work for the Lord.

01:30:19.500 --> 01:30:23.420
And let me tell you something, somebody that gets a lot of people saved, someone that does

01:30:23.420 --> 01:30:28.780
great works for the Lord will be attacked because they're envious of that and they're

01:30:28.780 --> 01:30:32.100
going to try and tear that person down and claim it's fake.

01:30:32.740 --> 01:30:34.620
They're going to claim that they didn't work for it.

01:30:34.820 --> 01:30:36.580
They're going to claim there's something off about it.

01:30:36.860 --> 01:30:40.060
Why? Because they want to steal the attention for themselves.

01:30:40.580 --> 01:30:41.580
Just be ready.

01:30:41.780 --> 01:30:45.860
Any person that is doing great works for the Lord, having big numbers, doing big soul

01:30:45.860 --> 01:30:51.660
winning, they will be attacked by many because they want to steal the vain glory for

01:30:51.660 --> 01:30:52.660
themselves.

01:30:53.740 --> 01:30:59.300
And they will say mean, nasty, horrible things about them, assign motives to them, try to

01:30:59.300 --> 01:31:00.300
tear them down.

01:31:00.700 --> 01:31:04.100
Why? Because they don't they don't want to work to get people saved.

01:31:04.220 --> 01:31:06.100
They want to work to tear people down.

01:31:07.060 --> 01:31:08.500
Sometimes you have to ask yourself this question.

01:31:08.500 --> 01:31:12.220
What are you doing? Are you trying to do work that's good or are you just trying to

01:31:12.220 --> 01:31:17.020
destroy things and harm other people and tear other people down?

01:31:17.100 --> 01:31:18.860
What are you building? What are you creating?

01:31:19.460 --> 01:31:20.740
What are you bringing to the table?

01:31:20.740 --> 01:31:21.740
How are you helping?

01:31:25.220 --> 01:31:26.220
Sibling rivalry.

01:31:27.500 --> 01:31:29.620
One sibling is trying to lift the other up.

01:31:29.620 --> 01:31:31.020
One is trying to tear the other down.

01:31:31.900 --> 01:31:36.420
And at the end of the day, you know, it's a wicked, evil attitude when we're trying to

01:31:36.860 --> 01:31:39.780
step on our brother's head to get ahead.

01:31:40.580 --> 01:31:45.340
We should be trying to lift him up and encourage him and help him and bless him and be

01:31:45.340 --> 01:31:46.340
his fan.

01:31:47.020 --> 01:31:49.700
You know what? Find someone in this church to root for.

01:31:52.860 --> 01:31:54.340
Find a pastor to root for.

01:31:55.220 --> 01:32:00.060
You know, as a church, we should find other churches to root for.

01:32:03.620 --> 01:32:04.620
Don't be mad.

01:32:04.940 --> 01:32:09.300
Don't be mad if your parents like one of your brothers or sisters or does something good

01:32:09.300 --> 01:32:12.260
for them. Oh, well, they got a better birthday party than me.

01:32:12.540 --> 01:32:15.660
Who cares? Oh, they gave them more attention.

01:32:15.940 --> 01:32:17.300
Oh, they gave them more money.

01:32:17.540 --> 01:32:19.100
Oh, they got this. You know what?

01:32:19.500 --> 01:32:21.740
Just be happy for them and encourage them.

01:32:21.860 --> 01:32:24.780
And you know what? Walk in the spirit and not in the flesh.

01:32:25.260 --> 01:32:26.820
We're all going to struggle with this.

01:32:27.900 --> 01:32:30.940
But you know what? The more that we have the mind of Christ and the more that we're

01:32:30.980 --> 01:32:34.180
esteeming other better than ourselves and the more that we're loving other people.

01:32:34.700 --> 01:32:36.380
Let me tell you something. The more that you're loving God.

01:32:38.220 --> 01:32:41.580
Don't just, I love God, then show us that you love God.

01:32:42.460 --> 01:32:46.020
You say, how do you how am I going to show God that I love him?

01:32:46.860 --> 01:32:51.220
By loving someone in this room, by loving someone in this world.

01:32:51.860 --> 01:32:54.820
And if you don't love anybody but yourself, you don't love God.

01:32:56.620 --> 01:33:00.460
You better love other people, esteem other people better than yourself.

01:33:00.620 --> 01:33:03.180
And you know, we should all, you know, take that lesson.

01:33:03.620 --> 01:33:05.580
And you know what? I love the new idea.

01:33:05.580 --> 01:33:07.420
Love other pastors. I love other men.

01:33:09.300 --> 01:33:11.140
Because, you know, that's that's what it's about.

01:33:13.260 --> 01:33:15.620
If you don't love other people, do you really love God?

01:33:15.620 --> 01:33:18.980
And the answer is no. And when we see someone

01:33:20.140 --> 01:33:24.220
not loving their brother in Christ, take it to the bank.

01:33:24.660 --> 01:33:26.100
The person does not love God.

01:33:27.180 --> 01:33:29.500
They're a wicked person. They're not right.

01:33:31.260 --> 01:33:32.860
I don't know if this guy loves God or not.

01:33:32.860 --> 01:33:35.620
Well, does he love his brother? No. Well, then he doesn't love God.

01:33:37.260 --> 01:33:39.740
Let us not be sibling rivals.

01:33:39.740 --> 01:33:41.500
Let us be sibling supporters.

01:33:41.500 --> 01:33:44.380
Let us be fans. Let us encourage one another.

01:33:44.380 --> 01:33:48.460
I didn't scream at you as much as I wanted, but I'm trying to encourage you. All right.

01:33:49.620 --> 01:33:51.140
I'm for you.

01:33:51.140 --> 01:33:53.100
We should lay down our lives for the brethren.

01:33:53.100 --> 01:33:56.180
And so much the more as we see the day approaching, it's only going to get worse

01:33:56.180 --> 01:33:57.860
out there, guys.

01:33:57.900 --> 01:34:00.500
I want to be around people that want to lift me up, not tear me down.

01:34:02.060 --> 01:34:05.220
And we should try to encourage each other and edify each other and build each other up.

01:34:05.220 --> 01:34:08.900
Let's go to prayer. Thank you, Father, so much for the love that you've shown us

01:34:08.900 --> 01:34:11.820
through your son. Thank you so much for his sacrifice.

01:34:11.820 --> 01:34:13.460
Thank you so much for his example.

01:34:13.460 --> 01:34:18.980
I pray that we would have a great appreciation and respect for the process of adoption

01:34:19.380 --> 01:34:22.820
that would never tear someone down because of adoption.

01:34:23.180 --> 01:34:26.380
I pray that we wouldn't tear people down when they're being greatly favored

01:34:26.620 --> 01:34:28.820
by their parents or favored by God.

01:34:29.060 --> 01:34:33.300
I pray that we would find people in this world that we can be fans of, that we can love,

01:34:33.300 --> 01:34:35.380
that we can support, that we can root for.

01:34:35.620 --> 01:34:38.940
I pray that you would help us to put down our own selfish ambitions

01:34:40.260 --> 01:34:44.660
and that we would love one another, not in word, but in deed and in truth.

01:34:46.020 --> 01:34:49.060
I pray that you would help us to be doers of the word

01:34:49.860 --> 01:34:53.980
and not hearers only, that we would not just sing our praises

01:34:54.300 --> 01:34:56.620
and say that we love things when we don't.

01:34:57.580 --> 01:35:01.020
I pray that you would help us to have genuine people, faithful men

01:35:01.860 --> 01:35:05.540
who are real and that you would encourage us to love one another

01:35:06.260 --> 01:35:08.100
as we love God in Jesus name we pray. Amen.

01:35:11.820 --> 01:35:15.380
All right, for our last song this evening, let's go to song number 410.

01:35:15.380 --> 01:35:17.380
Song number 410.

01:35:22.820 --> 01:35:24.820
Song number 410.

01:35:26.820 --> 01:35:28.820
Faith is the Victory.

01:35:28.820 --> 01:35:30.820
Song number 410.

01:35:34.820 --> 01:35:36.820
Song number 410. Let's all sing that together this afternoon.

01:35:37.700 --> 01:35:39.700
In camp along the hills of light,

01:35:43.700 --> 01:35:45.700
Ye Christian soldiers rise,

01:35:47.700 --> 01:35:49.700
And press the battle where the night

01:35:51.700 --> 01:35:53.700
Shall fill the glories skies.

01:35:55.700 --> 01:35:57.700
Against the foe,

01:35:57.700 --> 01:35:59.700
In failings low,

01:35:59.700 --> 01:36:01.700
Let all the strength be heard.

01:36:03.700 --> 01:36:05.700
Faith is the Victory,

01:36:06.580 --> 01:36:08.580
We know

01:36:08.580 --> 01:36:10.580
That overcomes the world.

01:36:12.580 --> 01:36:14.580
Faith is the Victory,

01:36:16.580 --> 01:36:18.580
Faith is the Victory,

01:36:20.580 --> 01:36:22.580
O glorious victory

01:36:24.580 --> 01:36:26.580
That overcomes the world.

01:36:28.580 --> 01:36:30.580
His banner over us,

01:36:30.580 --> 01:36:32.580
His love,

01:36:32.580 --> 01:36:34.580
Our sword, the word of God,

01:36:35.460 --> 01:36:37.460
We tread the road of saints above,

01:36:39.460 --> 01:36:41.460
With sounds of triumph run.

01:36:43.460 --> 01:36:45.460
By faith they like the world when fresh,

01:36:47.460 --> 01:36:49.460
Sweat thaw more every fear.

01:36:51.460 --> 01:36:53.460
The big fire this day conquered death,

01:36:57.460 --> 01:36:59.460
Is still our shining shield.

01:37:01.460 --> 01:37:03.460
Faith is the Victory,

01:37:05.460 --> 01:37:07.460
Faith is the Victory,

01:37:09.460 --> 01:37:11.460
O glorious victory

01:37:13.460 --> 01:37:15.460
That overcomes the world.

01:37:17.460 --> 01:37:19.460
On every hand the foe we find

01:37:21.460 --> 01:37:23.460
Drawn up in dread array,

01:37:25.460 --> 01:37:27.460
Let's test the beast we left behind,

01:37:29.460 --> 01:37:31.460
And onward to the fray.

01:37:32.340 --> 01:37:34.340
Salvation's helmet on each head,

01:37:36.340 --> 01:37:38.340
With truth the bird of God,

01:37:40.340 --> 01:37:42.340
The earth shall tremble

01:37:42.340 --> 01:37:44.340
Neath our treads,

01:37:46.340 --> 01:37:48.340
And yet the whip was shot.

01:37:50.340 --> 01:37:52.340
Faith is the Victory,

01:37:54.340 --> 01:37:56.340
Faith is the Victory,

01:37:58.340 --> 01:38:00.340
O glorious victory

01:38:02.340 --> 01:38:04.340
That overcomes the world.

01:38:06.340 --> 01:38:08.340
To him that overcomes the hurt,

01:38:10.340 --> 01:38:12.340
By faith it shall be his,

01:38:14.340 --> 01:38:16.340
Before the angels we shall know

01:38:18.340 --> 01:38:20.340
His name was cast in heaven.

01:38:22.340 --> 01:38:24.340
Then onward from the hills

01:38:24.340 --> 01:38:26.340
The fight of hearts filled

01:38:26.340 --> 01:38:28.340
With love of flame,

01:38:29.220 --> 01:38:31.220
Will vanquish all the hosts of night

01:38:35.220 --> 01:38:37.220
In Jesus' conquering name.

01:38:39.220 --> 01:38:41.220
Faith is the Victory,

01:38:43.220 --> 01:38:45.220
Faith is the Victory,

01:38:47.220 --> 01:38:49.220
O glorious victory

01:38:51.220 --> 01:38:53.220
That overcomes the world.

01:38:58.340 --> 01:39:01.220
Thank you.
