WEBVTT

00:00.000 --> 00:15.000
For in skies they turn to grey. I don't worry o'er the future,

00:15.000 --> 00:30.000
For I know what Jesus said, And today I'll walk beside him,

00:30.000 --> 00:52.000
For he knows what is ahead. Many things about tomorrow I don't seem to understand,

00:52.000 --> 01:07.000
But I know the love tomorrow, And I know who holds my hand.

01:07.000 --> 01:21.000
Every stem is deading brighter, As the golden stairs I climb.

01:21.000 --> 01:36.000
Every bird is deading brighter, Every cloud is silver-light.

01:36.000 --> 01:51.000
Where the sun is always shining, Where your tears will dim the eye,

01:51.000 --> 02:05.000
At the ending of the rainbow, Where the mountains touch the sky,

02:05.000 --> 02:20.000
Many things about tomorrow I don't seem to understand,

02:20.000 --> 02:35.000
But I know who holds tomorrow, And I know who holds my hand.

02:35.000 --> 02:50.000
I don't know about tomorrow, If he brings me poverty,

02:50.000 --> 03:04.000
But the one who leads the square road Is the one who sends my being,

03:04.000 --> 03:19.000
And the path that is my portion May be through the flame or flood,

03:19.000 --> 03:34.000
But this presence goes before me When I'm dark in his love.

03:34.000 --> 03:49.000
Many things about tomorrow I don't seem to understand,

03:49.000 --> 04:06.000
But I know who holds tomorrow, And I know who holds my hand.

04:19.000 --> 04:27.000
Love for songs of loudest praise, Teach me some melodious sonnet,

04:27.000 --> 04:35.000
Sunk by flaming tongues above, Praise the mountains I face upon it,

04:35.000 --> 04:43.000
Mountains of thy redeeming love. Here I raise my Ebenezer,

04:43.000 --> 04:51.000
Lither by thy help I'm come, And I hold by thy good pleasure,

04:51.000 --> 05:00.000
Safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger,

05:00.000 --> 05:07.000
Wandering from the fold of God, He to rescue me from danger,

05:07.000 --> 05:15.000
Interposes precious blood. Oh, to grace now, pray thou debtor,

05:15.000 --> 05:23.000
May the eye come straight to thee, Let thy grace for life of pleasure,

05:23.000 --> 05:31.000
Find my wandering heart to thee. Prone to wonder, Lord, I feel it,

05:32.000 --> 05:40.000
Prone to lead the God I love, Here's my heart, Lord, take and seal it,

05:40.000 --> 05:46.000
Seal it for thy force above.

05:46.000 --> 05:52.000
Praise him, praise him, Jesus, our blessed Redeemer,

05:52.000 --> 05:58.000
Sing over his wonderful young proclaim,

05:58.000 --> 06:04.000
Hail, hail, hail him, highest, our angels in glory,

06:04.000 --> 06:11.000
Strength and honor, give to this holy name,

06:11.000 --> 06:17.000
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard his children,

06:17.000 --> 06:23.000
In his arms he carries them all with God,

06:24.000 --> 06:30.000
Praise him, praise him, Jehovah his excellent creatures,

06:30.000 --> 06:37.000
Praise him, praise him, ever in joyful song,

06:37.000 --> 06:43.000
Praise him, praise him, Jesus, our blessed Redeemer,

06:43.000 --> 06:49.000
For our sins he suffered and bled and died,

06:50.000 --> 06:56.000
Be our one guard, hope of eternal salvation,

06:56.000 --> 07:02.000
Hail him, hail him, Jesus, and crucified,

07:02.000 --> 07:09.000
Sound his praises, Jesus, through more our sorrows,

07:09.000 --> 07:15.000
Love unbounded, wonderful, deep and strong,

07:16.000 --> 07:22.000
Praise him, praise him, Jehovah his excellent greatness,

07:22.000 --> 07:29.000
Praise him, praise him, ever in joyful song,

07:29.000 --> 07:35.000
Praise him, praise him, Jesus, our blessed Redeemer,

07:35.000 --> 07:42.000
Heavenly, Lord, hold not with those dead asleep,

07:42.000 --> 07:49.000
Jesus, Savior, reigneth forever and ever,

07:49.000 --> 07:55.000
Crown him, crown him, prophet and priest and king,

07:55.000 --> 08:02.000
Christ is coming, over the world victorious,

08:02.000 --> 08:08.000
Power and glory unto the Lord belong,

08:09.000 --> 08:15.000
Praise him, praise him, Jehovah his excellent greatness,

08:15.000 --> 08:23.000
Praise him, praise him, ever in joyful song.

08:25.000 --> 08:32.000
God sent his Son, a golden Jesus,

08:32.000 --> 08:40.000
He came to love the Lamb for him,

08:40.000 --> 08:48.000
He lived and died to buy my pardon,

08:48.000 --> 08:57.000
And if he grave is there to prove my Satan for this,

08:58.000 --> 09:07.000
Because he lives, I can face tomorrow,

09:07.000 --> 09:16.000
Because he lives, all fear is gone,

09:16.000 --> 09:24.000
Because I know he holds the future,

09:24.000 --> 09:32.000
And life is worth the living just because he lives,

09:33.000 --> 09:41.000
Thou speakest to all, a new or maybe,

09:41.000 --> 09:49.000
And fill the pride and joy he gives,

09:50.000 --> 09:58.000
But greater sin, the palm assurance,

09:58.000 --> 10:03.000
His child can face uncertain days,

10:03.000 --> 10:11.000
Because he lives, because he lives,

10:12.000 --> 10:20.000
I can face tomorrow, because he lives,

10:20.000 --> 10:33.000
All fear is gone, because I know he holds the future,

10:33.000 --> 10:41.000
And life is worth the living just because he lives,

10:42.000 --> 10:50.000
And then one day, I'll cross the river,

10:50.000 --> 10:59.000
I'll light my spine, a holy grave,

10:59.000 --> 11:07.000
And then extend his way to victory,

11:07.000 --> 11:16.000
I'll see the light of glory and the honor he lays,

11:16.000 --> 11:25.000
Because he lives, I can face tomorrow,

11:25.000 --> 11:33.000
Because he lives, all fear is gone,

11:33.000 --> 11:42.000
Because I know he holds the future,

11:42.000 --> 11:53.000
And life is worth the living just because he lives,

11:54.000 --> 11:58.000
Sowing in the morning, sowing seeds of kindness,

11:58.000 --> 12:02.000
Sowing in the loom, tine and the dew-leaf,

12:02.000 --> 12:07.000
Waiting for the harvest and the time of bringing,

12:07.000 --> 12:11.000
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves,

12:11.000 --> 12:15.000
Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,

12:15.000 --> 12:19.000
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves,

12:19.000 --> 12:23.000
Sowing in the sunshine, sowing in the shadows,

12:23.000 --> 12:27.000
Hearing even clouds, more than two-shouldered breeze,

12:27.000 --> 12:31.000
Buying by the harvest and the labor in the new,

12:31.000 --> 12:35.000
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves,

12:35.000 --> 12:39.000
Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,

12:39.000 --> 12:43.000
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves,

12:43.000 --> 12:47.000
Sowing in the sunshine, sowing in the shadows,

12:47.000 --> 12:51.000
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves,

12:51.000 --> 12:55.000
Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,

12:55.000 --> 12:59.000
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves,

12:59.000 --> 13:03.000
Going forth with weeping, sowing for the master,

13:03.000 --> 13:07.000
The voices sing our spirit of degrees,

13:07.000 --> 13:11.000
We are living so early, the winter's coming,

13:11.000 --> 13:15.000
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves,

13:15.100 --> 13:19.120
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves,

13:21.000 --> 13:27.000
Bringing in the sheaves.

13:27.000 --> 13:32.000
Bring it in the sheets, bring it in the sheets.

13:32.000 --> 13:38.000
We shall come rejoicing, bring it in the sheets.

13:38.000 --> 13:43.000
Sweetly, Lord, have we heard Thee calling,

13:43.000 --> 13:47.000
Come, follow me.

13:47.000 --> 13:51.000
And we see that the good friends calling,

13:51.000 --> 13:55.000
Lead us to Thee.

13:55.000 --> 14:03.000
The friends of Jesus can make the pathway go,

14:03.000 --> 14:12.000
We will follow the steps of Jesus where'er they go.

14:12.000 --> 14:16.000
Though they lead o'er the cold, dark mountains,

14:16.000 --> 14:20.000
Seeking His sheep,

14:20.000 --> 14:24.000
Nor along by snow-cloaked mountains,

14:24.000 --> 14:28.000
Helping the weak.

14:28.000 --> 14:36.000
The friends of Jesus can make the pathway go,

14:36.000 --> 14:44.000
We will follow the steps of Jesus where'er they go.

14:45.000 --> 14:48.000
If they lead through the temple,

14:48.000 --> 14:53.000
Holy, preaching the word,

14:53.000 --> 14:57.000
For in homes of the poor and lowly,

14:57.000 --> 15:01.000
Serving the Lord.

15:01.000 --> 15:09.000
The friends of Jesus can make the pathway go,

15:09.000 --> 15:17.000
We will follow the steps of Jesus where'er they go.

15:40.000 --> 15:44.000
Good morning, everyone, and welcome to Steadfast Baptist Church.

15:44.000 --> 15:47.000
It's wonderful to see everybody here.

15:47.000 --> 15:54.000
If we can go ahead and find our seats, we will get started with this Easter service.

15:54.000 --> 15:57.000
It's great to see everybody here this Easter morning.

15:57.000 --> 16:01.000
If we can find our seats, we will get started with the singing.

16:01.000 --> 16:07.000
And for our first song, if you can find a hymnal, we'll go to song number 31.

16:08.000 --> 16:12.000
Song number 31.

16:18.000 --> 16:21.000
A church classic, He Lives.

16:21.000 --> 16:23.000
Great song for this morning.

16:23.000 --> 16:28.000
Song number 31, I Serve a Risen Savior.

16:28.000 --> 16:32.000
Song number 31, let's all sing that out together.

16:33.000 --> 16:41.000
I serve a risen Savior, He's in the world today.

16:41.000 --> 16:48.000
I know that He is living, whatever men may say.

16:48.000 --> 16:54.000
I hear His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer.

16:54.000 --> 17:00.000
And just the time I need Him, He's always near.

17:01.000 --> 17:07.000
He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today.

17:07.000 --> 17:14.000
He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.

17:14.000 --> 17:21.000
He lives, He lives, salvation to His heart.

17:21.000 --> 17:28.000
You ask me how I know He lives.

17:28.000 --> 17:35.000
He lives within my heart.

17:35.000 --> 17:42.000
In all the world around me, I see His loving care.

17:42.000 --> 17:48.000
And though my heart grows weary, I never will despair.

17:48.000 --> 17:55.000
I know that He is leading through all the stormy blasts.

17:55.000 --> 18:01.000
The day of His appearing shall come at last.

18:01.000 --> 18:08.000
He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today.

18:08.000 --> 18:14.000
He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.

18:14.000 --> 18:22.000
He lives, He lives, salvation to His heart.

18:22.000 --> 18:29.000
You ask me how I know He lives.

18:29.000 --> 18:36.000
He lives within my heart.

18:36.000 --> 18:43.000
Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, lift up your voices, sing.

18:43.000 --> 18:50.000
Eternal hallelujah to Jesus Christ the King.

18:50.000 --> 18:56.000
The hope of all who see Him, the help of all who find.

18:56.000 --> 19:03.000
None other is the loving, so good and kind.

19:03.000 --> 19:09.000
He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today.

19:09.000 --> 19:16.000
He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.

19:16.000 --> 19:23.000
He lives, He lives, salvation to His heart.

19:23.000 --> 19:30.000
You ask me how I know He lives.

19:30.000 --> 19:38.000
He lives within my heart.

19:38.000 --> 19:42.000
Great job everybody. Let's open up the service now with a word of prayer.

19:42.000 --> 19:46.000
Lord, we love You and we thank You so much for the resurrection of Your Son.

19:46.000 --> 19:51.000
We thank You for everything that You do for us Lord and we thank You for the newness of life that comes to that resurrection.

19:51.000 --> 19:57.000
Lord, we just ask now that You fill us all with Your Spirit, help us to be edified this morning and it's in Jesus' name that we pray, Amen.

19:57.000 --> 20:04.000
Alright, for our next song, let's go to song number 32.

20:04.000 --> 20:10.000
Should not be very hard to find, song number 32.

20:10.000 --> 20:20.000
He lives on high, song number 32.

20:20.000 --> 20:25.000
Song number 32, let's all sing that out together.

20:25.000 --> 20:31.000
Christ the Savior, the King from Heaven's glory,

20:31.000 --> 20:36.000
To redeem the lost from sin and shame.

20:36.000 --> 20:41.000
On His crown He bore the form and glory,

20:41.000 --> 20:47.000
And upon Calvary He took my place.

20:47.000 --> 20:53.000
He lives on high, He lives on high,

20:53.000 --> 20:58.000
Triumphant over sin and all that's changed.

20:58.000 --> 21:04.000
He lives on high, He lives on high,

21:04.000 --> 21:09.000
Someday He's coming again.

21:09.000 --> 21:15.000
He arose from death and all is sorrow,

21:15.000 --> 21:20.000
To dwell in the land of joy and love.

21:20.000 --> 21:26.000
He is coming back some glad tomorrow,

21:26.000 --> 21:32.000
And He'll take all His children home above.

21:32.000 --> 21:38.000
He lives on high, He lives on high,

21:38.000 --> 21:43.000
Triumphant over sin and all that's changed.

21:43.000 --> 21:49.000
He lives on high, He lives on high,

21:49.000 --> 21:54.000
Someday He's coming again.

21:54.000 --> 22:00.000
Weary soul to Jesus come confessing,

22:00.000 --> 22:05.000
Redemption from sin He offers thee.

22:05.000 --> 22:10.000
Look to Jesus and receive a blessing.

22:10.000 --> 22:16.000
There is life, there is joy and victory.

22:16.000 --> 22:21.000
He lives on high, He lives on high,

22:21.000 --> 22:27.000
Triumphant over sin and all that's changed.

22:27.000 --> 22:32.000
He lives on high, He lives on high,

22:32.000 --> 22:37.000
Someday He's coming again.

22:57.000 --> 23:02.000
We have our service and soul winning times.

23:02.000 --> 23:07.000
Also we have our church stats.

23:07.000 --> 23:12.000
As far as soul winning, we had listed here in our bullets in our mega marathon result,

23:12.000 --> 23:17.000
We had about 110, 112 people come out for soul winning yesterday.

23:17.000 --> 23:22.000
And we had 97 salvations here as a church, so praise the Lord for that.

23:22.000 --> 23:27.000
We had about 100, 100 people trying to help organize, just other churches participating on that day.

23:27.000 --> 23:32.000
There was about 78 events that happened yesterday worldwide,

23:32.000 --> 23:37.000
pretty much everywhere you could think of.

23:37.000 --> 23:42.000
There was 915 participants of soul winners that went out there.

23:42.000 --> 23:47.000
And there was 1,375 salvations reported from yesterday.

23:47.000 --> 23:52.000
And so it's definitely exciting.

23:52.000 --> 23:57.000
We're hoping to do the same thing next year and do it even bigger.

23:57.000 --> 24:02.000
Try to do all 50 states next year.

24:02.000 --> 24:07.000
And so I really appreciate everybody who prayed and showed up and participated.

24:07.000 --> 24:12.000
It's great to go out and preach the gospel.

24:12.000 --> 24:17.000
I heard there's a new Red Hot Preaching Conference.

24:17.000 --> 24:22.000
I heard it's 2.0, May 15th to the 16th in Sacramento, California.

24:22.000 --> 24:27.000
Not only is there another Red Hot Preaching Conference, I was invited to preach there.

24:27.000 --> 24:32.000
Miracles do happen.

24:32.000 --> 24:37.000
But definitely excited about that. Pastor Bruce Mejia of First Works has kind of helped organizing this.

24:37.000 --> 24:42.000
It's a Sunday night and then kind of a Saturday, soul winning, and then a couple times of preaching.

24:42.000 --> 24:47.000
I know Pastor Anderson is going out there to preach as well.

24:47.000 --> 24:52.000
And so it'll just be kind of fun to go out there and preach and go soul winning with some of the brethren out there in California.

24:52.000 --> 24:57.000
Also, we have our conference that's going to be here locally.

24:57.000 --> 25:02.000
It's an anti-Israel conference. It's a little spicy of a name, but don't worry, the conference will be way spicier.

25:03.000 --> 25:08.000
May 20th through the 24th.

25:08.000 --> 25:13.000
And then we have listed here in the bulletin, there's a Europe soul winning conference that's going to be held in Germany.

25:13.000 --> 25:18.000
June 17th through the 20th, I'm actually going to be going out there as well.

25:18.000 --> 25:23.000
And that'll be a lot of fun. I've never been to Europe in my life. It'll be the first time I've ever visited.

25:23.000 --> 25:28.000
So definitely excited to go soul winning over there and to meet up with some of the people in Europe.

25:28.000 --> 25:33.000
I said last night, and I'll say again, if I go from Texas to Germany, hopefully you can come from some European country out there to meet.

25:36.000 --> 25:41.000
It'd be great to see all the people out there and to go soul winning with a lot of them.

25:41.000 --> 25:46.000
There's a Fiji missions trip. This is being sponsored by Pastor Kevin Sepulveda and their church out there, New Life Baptist Church.

25:49.000 --> 25:54.000
I'm not going to be in attendance, but I know some people are planning on going out there from even our church.

25:54.000 --> 25:59.000
I have been to Fiji though. Me and brother James actually went a couple years ago.

25:59.000 --> 26:04.000
We were there only for pretty much like 24 hours, but it was a lot of fun.

26:04.000 --> 26:09.000
It was a pretty receptive country in general.

26:09.000 --> 26:14.000
It kind of has a Caribbean feel, even though it's not part of our Caribbean.

26:14.000 --> 26:19.000
It's kind of like the Australian Caribbean in a sense, but it's definitely a receptive area.

26:20.000 --> 26:25.000
They've had big results out there in that part of the world before.

26:25.000 --> 26:30.000
You'll learn the word Bula really fast. They say that for everything.

26:30.000 --> 26:35.000
If you ever want to go to that side of the world, Fiji is a cool place to go soul winning.

26:35.000 --> 26:40.000
One of the most incredible things that I experienced was just when we were going to some of the houses, how almost none of the houses had any furniture.

26:41.000 --> 26:46.000
It was kind of incredible to see people living in a pretty humble means.

26:46.000 --> 26:51.000
Maybe some houses had like the chair.

26:51.000 --> 26:56.000
It was kind of like the rug and the chair.

26:56.000 --> 27:01.000
But the people were very happy. They were very content.

27:01.000 --> 27:06.000
They were very friendly. It was a very receptive place.

27:06.000 --> 27:11.000
We were able to get a lot of people saved even from our time there.

27:11.000 --> 27:16.000
I think we had, correct me if I'm wrong, it was like 25, 28 people saved or something like that in just one day's time.

27:16.000 --> 27:21.000
We got the rugby team saved.

27:21.000 --> 27:26.000
It was a lot of fun.

27:26.000 --> 27:31.000
If you want to go out there and participate or encourage people to go out there, definitely an awesome opportunity.

27:31.000 --> 27:36.000
Pastor Kevin Sepulva is a really cool guy, really friendly guy.

27:36.000 --> 27:41.000
I really like the people over there.

27:41.000 --> 27:46.000
Also Mesquite soul winning marathon August 22nd.

27:46.000 --> 27:51.000
There's a Barbados missions trip that we've been planning for and anticipating in September 7th through the 12th.

27:51.000 --> 27:56.000
We have the Heritage of the Lord Conference October 9th through the 11th.

27:56.000 --> 28:01.000
We have the Blue Camp.

28:01.000 --> 28:06.000
It's a faithful word Baptist church. It's going to be in Tempe, Arizona November 12th through the 14th.

28:06.000 --> 28:11.000
It's basically going to be for men only, obviously.

28:11.000 --> 28:16.000
It's not only for people that want to become a pastor or anything like that.

28:16.000 --> 28:21.000
It's really just for any men that want to learn how to preach and get better at preaching.

28:21.000 --> 28:26.000
If you're interested in going to church or on the missions field, when you go to schools,

28:26.000 --> 28:31.000
just any opportunities you have in general.

28:31.000 --> 28:36.000
If you're interested in getting better at preaching or learning how to preach or improving your preaching skills,

28:36.000 --> 28:41.000
I think it's going to accommodate people that are brand new.

28:41.000 --> 28:46.000
I think it's also going to challenge people that are experts, even pastors.

28:46.000 --> 28:51.000
If you want to participate, it's a great time.

28:51.000 --> 28:56.000
Phoenix is great to go in November.

28:56.000 --> 29:01.000
It's really beautiful in that time of year because it's like a desert in the summer,

29:01.000 --> 29:06.000
but it's just like a paradise in the other parts of the year.

29:06.000 --> 29:11.000
I love it. If you'd like to go, those are some events.

29:11.000 --> 29:16.000
On the back is our prayer list. If you want to register for some of the events, there's a QR code.

29:16.000 --> 29:21.000
You can just sign up. It's pretty easy. We had a couple also inserts in our bulletin.

29:21.000 --> 29:26.000
First, we'll have the congratulations to Samuel and Marnet Foley on the birth of their daughter,

29:26.000 --> 29:31.000
Salah Rose. She was born April 2nd, 440 PM, 5 pounds, 8 ounces, and 19 inches long.

29:31.000 --> 29:36.000
Congratulations to them.

29:36.000 --> 29:41.000
Also, we had a missionary

29:41.000 --> 29:46.000
update letter from our evangelist, Duncan Urbanek,

29:46.000 --> 29:51.000
who has a church plant, Steadfast Baptist Philippines, and they're reaching their

29:51.000 --> 29:56.000
two-year anniversary. They had 794 people saved in the month of March,

29:56.000 --> 30:01.000
and that brings them up all the way up almost to 6,000 for the year.

30:01.000 --> 30:06.000
They really are doing a huge work over there, and really with a small force.

30:06.000 --> 30:11.000
I mean, it's not necessarily that many people, but the people over there

30:11.000 --> 30:16.000
are workhorses. Brother Kenton Knowles, we've been sponsoring him to also help

30:16.000 --> 30:21.000
that church plant. Super Hard Worker, Brother James has been doing a lot of the work over there.

30:21.000 --> 30:26.000
Evangelist Urbanek and his family have been doing a lot of the soul winning. They've also made

30:26.000 --> 30:31.000
some local disciples over there that are definitely

30:31.000 --> 30:36.000
working hard in the Philippines. We're really praying for them. We think about the

30:36.000 --> 30:41.000
Philippines often, and we are planning to have another big trip, a big push,

30:41.000 --> 30:46.000
in February of 2027. Once we get those dates, I know

30:46.000 --> 30:51.000
some people ask me the dates. I don't think we have the dates yet, but we'll try to get an exact schedule

30:51.000 --> 30:56.000
and push that out there whenever we have it. But you can read the entire newsletter

30:56.000 --> 31:01.000
if you'd like to follow up and just kind of see how they're doing over there. Please be in prayer

31:01.000 --> 31:06.000
for the work that's going on in the Philippines. That's pretty much all I have as far as announcements.

31:06.000 --> 31:11.000
After our third song, we are going to have our special kids' choirs come up,

31:11.000 --> 31:16.000
and they're going to perform today. And so definitely it's a special

31:16.000 --> 31:21.000
day to have you guys here and to be able to participate in that. We're going to sing our third song first,

31:21.000 --> 31:26.000
I Am the Resurrection. It's in our new song booklets that we've made.

31:26.000 --> 31:31.000
And so if you want to look at that, I Am the Resurrection.

31:36.000 --> 31:41.000
All right. And if you look for the page number at the bottom left, it may help you find it. It's somewhere towards the middle.

31:41.000 --> 31:46.000
I Am the Resurrection.

31:46.000 --> 31:51.000
Song number 29.

31:51.000 --> 31:56.000
Those that know it, sing it out real loud. If it's newer to you, follow along, because I'm sure you'll pick it up.

31:56.000 --> 32:01.000
I Am the Resurrection.

32:11.000 --> 32:16.000
I Am the Resurrection.

32:16.000 --> 32:21.000
I Am the Resurrection.

32:21.000 --> 32:26.000
I Am the Resurrection.

32:26.000 --> 32:31.000
I Am the Resurrection.

32:31.000 --> 32:36.000
I Am the Resurrection.

32:36.000 --> 32:41.000
I Am the Resurrection.

32:41.000 --> 32:46.000
I Am the Resurrection.

32:46.000 --> 32:51.000
All right. Great job, everybody. It's time for the kids' choir to come up and sing.

33:06.000 --> 33:11.000
Come on.

33:36.000 --> 33:41.000
Come on.

34:06.000 --> 34:11.000
Come on.

34:36.000 --> 34:41.000
Come on.

35:06.000 --> 35:11.000
Come on.

35:11.000 --> 35:16.000
Hallelujah.

35:16.000 --> 35:21.000
Praise be to the Lord.

35:21.000 --> 35:26.000
Hallelujah.

35:26.000 --> 35:31.000
Praise be to the Lord.

35:31.000 --> 35:36.000
Praise be to the Lord.

35:36.000 --> 35:41.000
Hallelujah.

35:41.000 --> 35:46.000
Praise be to the Lord.

35:46.000 --> 35:51.000
Hallelujah.

35:51.000 --> 35:56.000
Hallelujah.

35:56.000 --> 36:01.000
Hallelujah.

36:01.000 --> 36:06.000
Hallelujah.

36:06.000 --> 36:11.000
Praise be to the Lord.

36:11.000 --> 36:16.000
Hallelujah.

36:16.000 --> 36:21.000
Praise be to the Lord.

36:21.000 --> 36:26.000
Praise be to the Lord.

36:51.000 --> 36:56.000
Hallelujah.

36:56.000 --> 37:01.000
Hallelujah.

37:01.000 --> 37:06.000
Hallelujah.

37:06.000 --> 37:11.000
Hallelujah.

37:11.000 --> 37:16.000
Hallelujah.

37:17.000 --> 37:22.000
Hallelujah.

37:33.000 --> 37:38.000
Hallelujah.

37:38.000 --> 37:42.000
Blessed be His glorious name.

37:48.000 --> 37:51.000
Early on that Easter day,

37:51.000 --> 37:54.000
Angels rolled the stone away,

37:54.000 --> 37:57.000
With it ringing sweet perfume,

37:57.000 --> 38:01.000
Even found it empty too.

38:01.000 --> 38:04.000
Alleluia, let us sing,

38:04.000 --> 38:07.000
Jesus is our risen King.

38:07.000 --> 38:10.000
Alleluia, now proclaim,

38:10.000 --> 38:13.000
Blessed be His glorious name.

38:20.000 --> 38:23.000
Do not fear the angels said,

38:23.000 --> 38:26.000
He is risen from the dead,

38:26.000 --> 38:29.000
See the place where Jesus lay,

38:29.000 --> 38:33.000
What a happy joyful day.

38:33.000 --> 38:36.000
Alleluia, let us sing,

38:36.000 --> 38:39.000
Jesus is our risen King.

38:39.000 --> 38:42.000
Alleluia, now proclaim,

38:42.000 --> 38:45.000
Blessed be His glorious name.

38:52.000 --> 38:55.000
Jesus died on Calvary,

38:55.000 --> 38:58.000
Now He's won the victory.

38:58.000 --> 39:01.000
Go and spread this gospel news,

39:01.000 --> 39:04.000
Jesus lives, He lives for you.

39:06.000 --> 39:09.000
Alleluia, let us sing,

39:09.000 --> 39:12.000
Jesus is our risen King.

39:12.000 --> 39:15.000
Alleluia, now proclaim,

39:15.000 --> 39:18.000
Blessed be His glorious name.

39:18.000 --> 39:21.000
Alleluia, blessed be His name.

39:36.000 --> 39:39.000
Thank you.

40:06.000 --> 40:09.000
Thank you.

40:21.000 --> 40:23.000
All right, at this time,

40:23.000 --> 40:25.000
as the offering plates are being passed around,

40:25.000 --> 40:28.000
go ahead and open your Bibles to Romans, Chapter 6.

40:28.000 --> 40:31.000
Romans, Chapter 6, and we'll read the whole chapter

40:31.000 --> 40:34.000
as is our custom. Romans, Chapter 6.

40:36.000 --> 40:39.000
Let us sing.

41:06.000 --> 41:09.000
Let us sing.

41:37.000 --> 41:40.000
Romans 6, the Bible reads,

41:40.000 --> 41:43.000
What shall we say then, shall we continue in sin,

41:43.000 --> 41:46.000
That grace may abound? God forbid.

41:46.000 --> 41:49.000
How shall we that are dead to sin,

41:49.000 --> 41:52.000
Live any longer therein? Know ye not that so many of us,

41:52.000 --> 41:55.000
As were baptized into Jesus Christ, were baptized into His death?

41:55.000 --> 41:58.000
Therefore, we are buried with Him by baptism into death,

41:58.000 --> 42:01.000
That like as Christ was raised up from the dead,

42:01.000 --> 42:04.000
By the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk

42:04.000 --> 42:07.000
In newness of life. For if we have been planted together

42:07.000 --> 42:10.000
In the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness

42:10.000 --> 42:13.000
Of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man is crucified

42:13.000 --> 42:16.000
With Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed,

42:16.000 --> 42:19.000
That henceforth we should not serve sin.

42:19.000 --> 42:22.000
For he that is dead is freed from sin.

42:22.000 --> 42:25.000
Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also

42:25.000 --> 42:28.000
Live with Him. Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead

42:28.000 --> 42:31.000
Dieth no more, death hath no more dominion over Him,

42:31.000 --> 42:34.000
For in that He died, He died unto sin once,

42:34.000 --> 42:37.000
But in that He liveth, He liveth unto God.

42:37.000 --> 42:40.000
Likewise, reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin,

42:40.000 --> 42:43.000
But alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

42:43.000 --> 42:46.000
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body,

42:46.000 --> 42:49.000
That ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

42:49.000 --> 42:52.000
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin,

42:52.000 --> 42:55.000
But yield yourselves unto God as those that are alive from the dead.

42:55.000 --> 42:58.000
For in that He died, He died unto sin once,

42:58.000 --> 43:01.000
But yield yourselves unto God as those that are alive from the dead,

43:01.000 --> 43:04.000
And your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

43:04.000 --> 43:07.000
For sin shall not have dominion over you,

43:07.000 --> 43:10.000
For ye are not under the law, but under grace.

43:10.000 --> 43:13.000
What then, shall we sin because we are not under the law,

43:13.000 --> 43:16.000
But under grace? God forbid.

43:16.000 --> 43:19.000
Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey,

43:19.000 --> 43:22.000
His servants ye are to whom ye obey,

43:22.000 --> 43:25.000
Whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

43:26.000 --> 43:29.000
But God be thanked that ye were the servants of sin,

43:29.000 --> 43:32.000
But ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

43:32.000 --> 43:35.000
Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

43:35.000 --> 43:38.000
I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh,

43:38.000 --> 43:41.000
For as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness,

43:41.000 --> 43:44.000
And to iniquity unto iniquity,

43:44.000 --> 43:47.000
Even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

43:47.000 --> 43:50.000
For when ye were the servants of sin,

43:50.000 --> 43:53.000
Ye were from the heart of sin,

43:53.000 --> 43:56.000
And when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

43:56.000 --> 43:59.000
What fruit had ye then, and those things were of ye are now ashamed,

43:59.000 --> 44:02.000
For the end of those things is death.

44:02.000 --> 44:05.000
But now being made free from sin,

44:05.000 --> 44:08.000
And become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness,

44:08.000 --> 44:11.000
And the end everlasting life.

44:11.000 --> 44:14.000
For the wages of sin is death,

44:14.000 --> 44:17.000
But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

44:17.000 --> 44:20.000
Let's bow our heads for a word of prayer.

44:20.000 --> 44:23.000
Father God, I ask that you bless the sermon this morning

44:23.000 --> 44:26.000
and fill the man of God with your spirit.

44:26.000 --> 44:29.000
Help us to be inspired by the preaching of your word

44:29.000 --> 44:32.000
to live a more pure and Christ-centered life.

44:32.000 --> 44:35.000
We thank you for the souls that were saved yesterday,

44:35.000 --> 44:38.000
and I ask that you help us to continue to bear much fruit.

44:38.000 --> 44:41.000
And I ask for these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

44:41.000 --> 44:44.000
Before I get started I just want to say thank you to all the parents

44:44.000 --> 44:47.000
who participated and your kids,

44:47.000 --> 44:50.000
allowing them to come up here and do the choir.

44:50.000 --> 44:53.000
It was really special, I really enjoyed it. Thank you so much Mrs. Carlson

44:53.000 --> 44:56.000
and all the moms who helped volunteer to corral the children.

44:56.000 --> 44:59.000
They did great and it was really special,

44:59.000 --> 45:02.000
so thank you to everyone who did that.

45:02.000 --> 45:05.000
I want to look at verse number four for my sermon this morning

45:05.000 --> 45:08.000
and the Bible says, therefore we are buried with them by baptism into death.

45:08.000 --> 45:11.000
The like as Christ was raised up from the dead

45:11.000 --> 45:14.000
by the glory of the Father,

45:14.000 --> 45:17.000
so we also should walk in newness of life.

45:17.000 --> 45:20.000
And I'm drawing my sermon from this particular phrase here,

45:20.000 --> 45:23.000
newness of life.

45:23.000 --> 45:26.000
And we celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ,

45:26.000 --> 45:29.000
but it has meaning for us in our practical lives

45:29.000 --> 45:32.000
and we are Baptist.

45:32.000 --> 45:35.000
We believe in believer's baptism,

45:35.000 --> 45:38.000
that you get saved by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ

45:38.000 --> 45:41.000
and while salvation is free

45:41.000 --> 45:44.000
and you're not obligated to do anything else to go to heaven,

45:44.000 --> 45:47.000
there's still things we should do.

45:47.000 --> 45:50.000
And the Bible tells us that we should take that first step of obedience

45:50.000 --> 45:53.000
by getting baptized as a symbol,

45:53.000 --> 45:56.000
as a public profession of the faith that you put in the Lord Jesus Christ.

45:56.000 --> 45:59.000
And when you get baptized,

45:59.000 --> 46:02.000
it's showing that you want to die to your old self

46:02.000 --> 46:05.000
and that you want to now come out like Jesus did

46:05.000 --> 46:08.000
and to walk in newness of life.

46:08.000 --> 46:11.000
The Lord Jesus Christ rose again from the dead,

46:11.000 --> 46:14.000
conquering death, conquering our sin,

46:14.000 --> 46:17.000
conquering all payment and consequence,

46:17.000 --> 46:20.000
fully satisfying the wrath of God,

46:20.000 --> 46:23.000
so that we could walk in newness of life.

46:23.000 --> 46:26.000
And of course, that's what we should do as Baptists,

46:26.000 --> 46:29.000
is we should not only accept the free gift of salvation,

46:29.000 --> 46:32.000
not only be water baptized,

46:32.000 --> 46:35.000
but we should also then walk in newness of life.

46:35.000 --> 46:38.000
And that's what's being hammered here in Romans chapter number six.

46:38.000 --> 46:41.000
Notice it says in verse five,

46:41.000 --> 46:44.000
for if we've been planted together in the likeness of his death,

46:44.000 --> 46:47.000
we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.

46:47.000 --> 46:50.000
So not only should we

46:50.000 --> 46:53.000
follow suit in the likeness of his death,

46:53.000 --> 46:56.000
but we should follow suit in the likeness of his resurrection,

46:56.000 --> 46:59.000
that we walk a different way, that we act differently.

46:59.000 --> 47:02.000
It says here in verse number six,

47:02.000 --> 47:05.000
that the body of sin might be destroyed,

47:05.000 --> 47:08.000
that henceforth we should not serve sin.

47:08.000 --> 47:11.000
Once you've been saved,

47:11.000 --> 47:14.000
you should no longer choose to serve sin,

47:14.000 --> 47:17.000
you should choose to serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

47:17.000 --> 47:20.000
It says in verse seven,

47:20.000 --> 47:23.000
We believe that we should also live with them,

47:23.000 --> 47:26.000
knowing that Christ being raised from the dead,

47:26.000 --> 47:29.000
dieeth no more, death hath no more dominion over him,

47:29.000 --> 47:32.000
for in that he died, he died unto sin once,

47:32.000 --> 47:35.000
but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

47:35.000 --> 47:38.000
In the same way that the Lord Jesus Christ will never die again,

47:38.000 --> 47:41.000
he died once, death had dominion over him

47:41.000 --> 47:44.000
for only three days, but after he conquered,

47:44.000 --> 47:47.000
death hath no more dominion over him.

47:47.000 --> 47:50.000
It can never conquer him ever again in that short time span.

47:50.000 --> 47:53.000
In the same way we should be like Christ,

47:53.000 --> 47:56.000
where we don't allow sin to conquer us,

47:56.000 --> 47:59.000
we don't allow sin to reign over us,

47:59.000 --> 48:02.000
that we are conquering sin, that we are walking triumphantly,

48:02.000 --> 48:05.000
that we are walking in newness of life.

48:05.000 --> 48:08.000
This is what he wants for us.

48:08.000 --> 48:11.000
It says, Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be

48:11.000 --> 48:14.000
dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God

48:14.000 --> 48:17.000
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

48:17.000 --> 48:20.000
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body

48:20.000 --> 48:23.000
that you should obey it in the lust thereof.

48:23.000 --> 48:26.000
So the admonition is that if Jesus Christ

48:26.000 --> 48:29.000
died and rose again, is now walking in newness of life

48:29.000 --> 48:32.000
for himself, we too should walk in newness of life

48:32.000 --> 48:35.000
for ourselves. What does that look like?

48:35.000 --> 48:38.000
That we should no longer let sin control us,

48:38.000 --> 48:41.000
that we should no longer let sin reign over us,

48:41.000 --> 48:44.000
that we should not just be dominated by sin,

48:44.000 --> 48:47.000
but rather we should walk in newness of life.

48:47.000 --> 48:50.000
Verse 13, Neither yield your members as instruments

48:50.000 --> 48:53.000
of unrighteousness unto sin, but yield yourselves

48:53.000 --> 48:56.000
unto God as those that are alive from the dead

48:56.000 --> 48:59.000
and your members as instruments of righteousness

48:59.000 --> 49:02.000
unto God. So he contrasts those who allow sin

49:02.000 --> 49:05.000
to reign over them as dead

49:05.000 --> 49:08.000
and those who are walking in newness of life

49:08.000 --> 49:11.000
as being alive. So we also think about

49:11.000 --> 49:14.000
James 2 where the Bible says, Faith without works

49:14.000 --> 49:17.000
is dead. What does that mean?

49:17.000 --> 49:20.000
Well of course, when I'm talking about whether you're saved or not,

49:20.000 --> 49:23.000
if you have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and no works,

49:23.000 --> 49:26.000
you're still saved. But here's the thing, you're dead

49:26.000 --> 49:29.000
in the sense that you're allowing sin to reign over you

49:29.000 --> 49:32.000
and you're accomplishing nothing for the Lord Jesus Christ.

49:32.000 --> 49:35.000
In the same way that if my cell phone has no battery, it's dead.

49:35.000 --> 49:38.000
It's not going to profit me, it's not going to benefit me,

49:38.000 --> 49:41.000
it's not going to help me. It's not that it doesn't exist, it of course exists,

49:41.000 --> 49:44.000
but I need to plug it in, I need to charge it

49:44.000 --> 49:47.000
so that I can get utility out of it. In the same way that the Christian

49:47.000 --> 49:50.000
needs to spirit-filled charge themselves

49:50.000 --> 49:53.000
so they can be alive unto God and they can be profitable

49:53.000 --> 49:56.000
unto God and they can be profitable unto man

49:56.000 --> 49:59.000
and that they're no longer living to sin

49:59.000 --> 50:02.000
but they're rather living unto God.

50:02.000 --> 50:05.000
It says here that in verse number

50:05.000 --> 50:08.000
14, For sin shall not have dominion over you,

50:08.000 --> 50:11.000
for you are not under the law, but under grace. What does it mean that you're not under the law?

50:11.000 --> 50:14.000
You're not under the law because when you died with Christ,

50:14.000 --> 50:17.000
when you were buried with Christ by putting faith in the Lord Jesus Christ,

50:17.000 --> 50:20.000
you cannot face the consequences of the law.

50:20.000 --> 50:23.000
What is the ultimate consequence of the law?

50:23.000 --> 50:26.000
Dying and going to hell.

50:26.000 --> 50:29.000
You're not under the law, but you're under grace.

50:29.000 --> 50:32.000
Meaning that when you die, you will not get what you deserve

50:32.000 --> 50:35.000
according to the law and die and go to hell,

50:35.000 --> 50:38.000
but because of God's grace, you'll get to go to heaven.

50:38.000 --> 50:41.000
So you're no longer under the law.

50:41.000 --> 50:44.000
You will not be judged by the law at the judgment seat of Christ,

50:44.000 --> 50:47.000
but rather you're going to go to heaven because you have the imputed righteousness

50:47.000 --> 50:50.000
of the Lord Jesus Christ.

50:50.000 --> 50:53.000
Now does that mean there's no consequence for sin in this life?

50:53.000 --> 50:56.000
Of course there's consequence for sin.

50:56.000 --> 50:59.000
And of course it says in verse 23, For the wage of sin is death.

50:59.000 --> 51:02.000
If you live a very sinful life, you'll probably go to an early grave

51:02.000 --> 51:05.000
because sin often leads to death

51:05.000 --> 51:08.000
and you're not only physical death, but you're spiritually dead

51:08.000 --> 51:11.000
while sinning anyways.

51:11.000 --> 51:14.000
Living a life of sin is spiritually dead.

51:14.000 --> 51:17.000
Letting sin reign over you will make you dead to good works.

51:17.000 --> 51:20.000
It'll make you dead to serving God.

51:20.000 --> 51:23.000
It'll make you dead to being profitable to mankind in this world.

51:23.000 --> 51:26.000
So why should we not let sin reign over us

51:26.000 --> 51:29.000
so that we can be profitable unto God?

51:29.000 --> 51:32.000
He's saying in verse 15, What then?

51:32.000 --> 51:37.000
Do we sin because we are not under the law, but under grace?

51:37.000 --> 51:41.000
So it's like, well, if technically I can live however I want

51:41.000 --> 51:45.000
and still go to heaven, then should I just keep sinning?

51:45.000 --> 51:48.000
And what's the answer? God forbid!

51:48.000 --> 51:51.000
Of course God never wants us to sin.

51:51.000 --> 51:54.000
People say there's a license to sin.

51:54.000 --> 51:57.000
Never in the Bible does God say sin.

51:57.000 --> 52:00.000
Never does God incentivize people to sin.

52:00.000 --> 52:03.000
The Bible is encouraging people to sin.

52:03.000 --> 52:07.000
I'm not saying, hey, salvation's free, therefore be a drunkard.

52:07.000 --> 52:10.000
You know, I've never gotten someone saved at the door

52:10.000 --> 52:13.000
and I said, hey, now you should go to the bar.

52:13.000 --> 52:16.000
Hey, now you should go commit adultery.

52:16.000 --> 52:19.000
Hey, now you should go rob a bank.

52:19.000 --> 52:22.000
You know what I usually say? Why don't you come to church?

52:22.000 --> 52:25.000
Why don't you get baptized? Why don't you read your Bible?

52:25.000 --> 52:28.000
Why don't you come soul winning with us?

52:28.000 --> 52:31.000
Why don't you make that girlfriend a wife?

52:31.000 --> 52:34.000
You know, that's what I'll say to them at the door.

52:34.000 --> 52:37.000
Why? Because we're supposed to walk in newness of life

52:37.000 --> 52:40.000
after getting saved. And that person who we knock on their door

52:40.000 --> 52:43.000
and we give them the gospel and they get saved

52:43.000 --> 52:46.000
and they don't show up, guess what?

52:46.000 --> 52:49.000
They're dead spiritually and they're not going to accomplish anything for God.

52:49.000 --> 52:52.000
Does that mean they're still going to go to heaven?

52:52.000 --> 52:55.000
Absolutely, they're going to go to heaven. But you know what?

52:55.000 --> 52:59.000
Only so that we can go to heaven, but so we can walk in newness of life now.

52:59.000 --> 53:02.000
We need to try to walk in newness of life now.

53:02.000 --> 53:04.000
Verse 16,

53:19.000 --> 53:23.000
Now, you have to think about the context here in this particular passage

53:23.000 --> 53:26.000
because I guess, you know, of course, I believe in context.

53:26.000 --> 53:29.000
I'm not someone that ignores context when I read the Bible.

53:29.000 --> 53:35.000
I also think we should consider the intended audience of this particular epistle.

53:35.000 --> 53:38.000
Who is he writing to?

53:38.000 --> 53:42.000
He's writing to the church which is in Rome.

53:42.000 --> 53:45.000
He's writing to Christians.

53:45.000 --> 53:49.000
He's talking to people that were Gentiles in times past,

53:49.000 --> 53:52.000
giving themselves over to idolatry,

53:52.000 --> 53:56.000
giving themselves over to lasciviousness and fornication and lust.

53:56.000 --> 54:00.000
They got saved. But is he talking to everybody that got saved in Rome?

54:00.000 --> 54:05.000
Or is he talking to the people that not only got saved, but they're now in church?

54:05.000 --> 54:08.000
So are these people spiritually dead?

54:08.000 --> 54:11.000
No, because these people are in church serving God.

54:11.000 --> 54:14.000
So when he says here specifically in verse 17,

54:14.000 --> 54:17.000
But God be thanked that ye were the servants of sin,

54:17.000 --> 54:20.000
but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine was delivered to you.

54:20.000 --> 54:25.000
He's making it clear like these people are not servants of sin right now.

54:25.000 --> 54:30.000
But does that mean that every saved person is not a servant of sin?

54:30.000 --> 54:32.000
Well, you could go back to being a servant of sin.

54:32.000 --> 54:35.000
That's what the whole chapter is about.

54:35.000 --> 54:38.000
Don't do that. Don't yield yourselves back to this.

54:38.000 --> 54:42.000
He's saying you guys that are in church have started to try and yield yourselves

54:42.000 --> 54:45.000
unto righteousness and unto the Lord Jesus Christ,

54:45.000 --> 54:48.000
and you guys aren't doing this.

54:48.000 --> 54:52.000
But you know what? There's many Christians today that are still yielding themselves unto sin,

54:52.000 --> 54:55.000
and they're still servants of sin in many cases.

54:55.000 --> 54:59.000
Now, obviously, in your new man, you're not a servant of sin,

54:59.000 --> 55:01.000
and there's another layer to this.

55:01.000 --> 55:05.000
But those that are in church, those that are actually separating themselves,

55:05.000 --> 55:07.000
those that are actually trying to serve the Lord,

55:07.000 --> 55:09.000
hey, you're not a servant of sin.

55:09.000 --> 55:12.000
And notice what caused them to not be a servant of sin.

55:12.000 --> 55:16.000
It was doctrine. What's doctrine? It's what you believe.

55:16.000 --> 55:18.000
It's faith in the Lord Jesus Christ that gets you saved.

55:18.000 --> 55:20.000
That's what caused them to be saved,

55:20.000 --> 55:24.000
and that's what gave them the ability to no longer serve sin.

55:24.000 --> 55:26.000
It wasn't that they repented of their sins.

55:26.000 --> 55:29.000
It was that they believed in Jesus Christ and got saved,

55:29.000 --> 55:33.000
which gave them the power and the ability to actually walk in the news of life.

55:33.000 --> 55:36.000
We walk by faith, not by sight.

55:36.000 --> 55:39.000
And of course, you don't clean yourself up and come to Jesus Christ.

55:39.000 --> 55:43.000
You come to Jesus Christ, and then you get cleaned up.

55:43.000 --> 55:47.000
And of course, we should try our best to not be servants of sin.

55:47.000 --> 55:50.000
But he's saying, hey, you guys, you were the servants of sin,

55:50.000 --> 55:53.000
but you obeyed that from the heart that form of doctrine was delivered you.

55:53.000 --> 55:56.000
Being then made free from sin, you became the servants of righteousness.

55:56.000 --> 55:59.000
This is a group of people that have started to yield themselves

55:59.000 --> 56:01.000
to be servants of righteousness here in Rome,

56:01.000 --> 56:04.000
probably the Babylon of their time,

56:04.000 --> 56:09.000
probably the most wicked place in the world at that time in the world.

56:09.000 --> 56:12.000
I mean, Rome is the epicenter of the world.

56:12.000 --> 56:16.000
You have all kinds of crazy, weird stuff that happened in Rome.

56:16.000 --> 56:18.000
And I'm not going to give you a history lesson here,

56:18.000 --> 56:23.000
but let me tell you something. Rome at this point in time is an extremely wicked place.

56:23.000 --> 56:26.000
You know, we think about the quote Epstein files.

56:26.000 --> 56:28.000
Boy, there's Epstein files every day in Rome.

56:28.000 --> 56:31.000
And it was even worse in many cases.

56:31.000 --> 56:33.000
Very wicked, ungodly place.

56:33.000 --> 56:36.000
So people separating themselves to become Christians at this time

56:36.000 --> 56:40.000
is a major, major thing to happen.

56:40.000 --> 56:43.000
Many Romans just slaughtered Christians,

56:43.000 --> 56:47.000
and they put the Christians in the Colosseums and fed them to lions,

56:47.000 --> 56:50.000
and they tortured them and they beat them.

56:50.000 --> 56:53.000
I mean, there was just horrific things that happened to Christians

56:53.000 --> 56:56.000
in the first century by the Romans.

56:56.000 --> 57:02.000
This is not an easy thing to be a Christian at this time, at this place.

57:02.000 --> 57:05.000
These are servants of righteousness here.

57:05.000 --> 57:08.000
You know, being a Christian in America, sometimes we're disillusioned

57:08.000 --> 57:11.000
with how easy it is to go to church.

57:11.000 --> 57:14.000
It is so easy to go to church, and yet people don't go.

57:14.000 --> 57:21.000
I mean, in Dallas, Fort Worth, Texas, I've never seen a highway as clear as Sunday morning.

57:21.000 --> 57:27.000
You're thinking like, did a zombie apocalypse happen or something?

57:27.000 --> 57:32.000
I mean, I'm just driving down the road, and I'm just like, why is there seven lanes and no one?

57:32.000 --> 57:35.000
I mean, you can just fly down the road.

57:35.000 --> 57:38.000
You can go wherever you want.

57:38.000 --> 57:39.000
Look, it's never been easy.

57:39.000 --> 57:41.000
I mean, you have a car.

57:41.000 --> 57:46.000
You think they had a car to drive them to church in the first century?

57:46.000 --> 57:48.000
Many of them didn't even have a chariot.

57:48.000 --> 57:49.000
They had to walk.

57:49.000 --> 57:53.000
Think about how many of you would have showed up to church today if you had to walk.

57:53.000 --> 57:58.000
You're complaining about, well, the AC's not on enough.

57:58.000 --> 58:01.000
What?

58:01.000 --> 58:06.000
You think the obstacle to going to church is like if you feel like it today.

58:06.000 --> 58:13.000
It's like their obstacle is like, are we going to be thrown into the coliseum and fed to lions today if we go to church?

58:13.000 --> 58:17.000
I mean, these people going to church was a real deal.

58:17.000 --> 58:18.000
It was serious.

58:18.000 --> 58:24.000
We live in such prosperity and such safety and so much comfort today, and yet so many Christians,

58:24.000 --> 58:30.000
they can't even drag themselves to a comfortable church to sit in a comfortable chair with air conditioning.

58:30.000 --> 58:34.000
They got driven there by four horsemen.

58:34.000 --> 58:37.000
You know, they have a four wheel drive.

58:37.000 --> 58:42.000
I mean, they got I mean, people, it's so easy.

58:42.000 --> 58:51.000
It's sad how easy it is for us and how apathetic Christians are today and how they don't really care.

58:51.000 --> 58:53.000
Why? Because they're servants of sin.

58:53.000 --> 58:58.000
But I'm telling you, when you're talking about this audience, this isn't people that have really separated themselves.

58:58.000 --> 58:59.000
They're real disciples here.

58:59.000 --> 59:01.000
They're really going through some difficult stuff.

59:01.000 --> 59:04.000
Rome is a scary place to be a Christian.

59:04.000 --> 59:09.000
These people that are in this church, they're not, you know, messing around with Christianity.

59:09.000 --> 59:11.000
There are some serious Christians here.

59:11.000 --> 59:12.000
They're servants of righteousness.

59:12.000 --> 59:17.000
He says in verse 19, I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh.

59:17.000 --> 59:21.000
For as you have yielded, you remember servants to uncleanness and to iniquity and to iniquity.

59:21.000 --> 59:25.000
Even so, now yield your member servants to righteousness and to holiness.

59:25.000 --> 59:29.000
For when you were the servants of sin, you were free from righteousness.

59:29.000 --> 59:34.000
What fruit had you then in those things wherever you're now ashamed for the end of those things is death.

59:34.000 --> 59:41.000
But now being made free from sin and become servants of God, he had your fruit unto holiness and the end everlasting life.

59:41.000 --> 59:48.000
So what he's trying to say is that when you're not saved, you you had no obligation to be righteous.

59:48.000 --> 59:50.000
You couldn't be righteous if you wanted.

59:50.000 --> 59:54.000
But he's saying now that you are saved, you do have an obligation to be righteous.

59:54.000 --> 59:55.000
You do have a calling.

59:55.000 --> 59:58.000
You do have a command of God to be righteous.

59:58.000 --> 01:00:01.000
And we should serve righteousness.

01:00:01.000 --> 01:00:03.000
We should serve God with true holiness.

01:00:03.000 --> 01:00:04.000
We should serve our Lord Jesus Christ.

01:00:04.000 --> 01:00:11.000
You know, when we come to Easter service and we're celebrating the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, obviously we want to think about Jesus.

01:00:11.000 --> 01:00:18.000
But if you really care about Jesus, if you really love Jesus, it's not showing up on Easter.

01:00:18.000 --> 01:00:21.000
It's showing up at church every Sunday morning.

01:00:21.000 --> 01:00:24.000
It's not yielding yourself one day a year.

01:00:24.000 --> 01:00:27.000
It's it's yielding yourself every day of the year.

01:00:27.000 --> 01:00:34.000
It's becoming a servant of righteousness and loving the Lord Jesus Christ and walking in newness of life for the rest of your life.

01:00:34.000 --> 01:00:37.000
That's what it would really mean to celebrate Jesus.

01:00:37.000 --> 01:00:45.000
That's what it really means to care about the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and what he did for us so that we could do these good works.

01:00:45.000 --> 01:00:47.000
Go to Ephesians, chapter number two for a moment.

01:00:47.000 --> 01:00:50.000
We love to stress the freeness of salvation.

01:00:50.000 --> 01:00:57.000
And absolutely, it's it's there's nothing that we could say that you have to add to salvation.

01:00:57.000 --> 01:00:59.000
It's completely been paid for.

01:00:59.000 --> 01:01:02.000
It's completely been worked for.

01:01:02.000 --> 01:01:04.000
Jesus did the hard part.

01:01:04.000 --> 01:01:12.000
Jesus loved you so much that he did everything necessary to get you saved except for alter your free will.

01:01:13.000 --> 01:01:15.000
You still have to accept him.

01:01:15.000 --> 01:01:16.000
You still have to receive him.

01:01:16.000 --> 01:01:17.000
You still have to believe in him.

01:01:17.000 --> 01:01:19.000
That's the only thing you have to do.

01:01:19.000 --> 01:01:20.000
It's not hard.

01:01:20.000 --> 01:01:21.000
But you know what?

01:01:21.000 --> 01:01:25.000
Take swallowing your pride and receiving the free gift of salvation.

01:01:25.000 --> 01:01:32.000
Verse eight, for by grace you saved through faith and that not of yourselves, that is the gift of God, not of works that any man should boast.

01:01:32.000 --> 01:01:35.000
In order to be saved, you have to be willing to receive a gift.

01:01:35.000 --> 01:01:37.000
And you can't boast about a gift.

01:01:38.000 --> 01:01:42.000
You can't brag about a gift because you didn't do anything to earn it.

01:01:42.000 --> 01:01:44.000
You didn't do anything to work for it.

01:01:44.000 --> 01:01:45.000
You simply received it.

01:01:45.000 --> 01:01:47.000
And it wasn't even special to you.

01:01:47.000 --> 01:01:49.000
We're not Calvinist here today.

01:01:49.000 --> 01:01:53.000
It's not like why I can brag about a gift because I got it and it's only offered to me.

01:01:53.000 --> 01:01:55.000
No, it's offered to everyone.

01:01:55.000 --> 01:02:00.000
There's no boasting in salvation other than in the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:02:00.000 --> 01:02:03.000
The only boasting is in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.

01:02:03.000 --> 01:02:07.000
The only boasting is in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:02:07.000 --> 01:02:13.000
Whereas the Calvinist today wants to boast and now he's so special that he got this gift and you're not offered it.

01:02:13.000 --> 01:02:15.000
What a lie from hell.

01:02:15.000 --> 01:02:18.000
No, the gift of eternal life is offered to all.

01:02:18.000 --> 01:02:21.000
Jesus Christ tasted death for every man.

01:02:21.000 --> 01:02:25.000
He's the savior of all men, especially those that believe.

01:02:25.000 --> 01:02:26.000
And let me tell you something.

01:02:26.000 --> 01:02:31.000
Of course, not everybody gets saved, but it is all about the gift of salvation.

01:02:31.000 --> 01:02:34.000
Not everybody gets saved, but it was offered to everyone.

01:02:34.000 --> 01:02:35.000
Why?

01:02:35.000 --> 01:02:37.000
Because for God so loved the world.

01:02:37.000 --> 01:02:40.000
And we're not talking about a physical planet.

01:02:40.000 --> 01:02:42.000
He doesn't love the world like he loves Mars.

01:02:42.000 --> 01:02:44.000
No, he's talking about the people.

01:02:44.000 --> 01:02:49.000
God loved every single person by sending his son to die for all of their sins.

01:02:49.000 --> 01:02:56.000
And Jesus Christ truly tasted death for every man and paid for every sin so he could offer to us the free gift of salvation.

01:02:56.000 --> 01:02:58.000
But notice verse 10.

01:02:58.000 --> 01:03:07.000
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

01:03:07.000 --> 01:03:09.000
What is the Bible saying?

01:03:09.000 --> 01:03:14.000
Jesus got you saved for free, but now he wants to work on you.

01:03:14.000 --> 01:03:19.000
He got you saved so that he could then use you to do work.

01:03:19.000 --> 01:03:26.000
And there are good works that God has created, that God has ordained, that God has set aside for you to do.

01:03:26.000 --> 01:03:29.000
But you have to walk in newness of life to accomplish them.

01:03:29.000 --> 01:03:30.000
And you know, you should.

01:03:30.000 --> 01:03:31.000
That's what the Bible is saying.

01:03:31.000 --> 01:03:33.000
You should walk in them.

01:03:33.000 --> 01:03:34.000
Will you automatically?

01:03:34.000 --> 01:03:35.000
No.

01:03:35.000 --> 01:03:38.000
Free will continues after salvation.

01:03:38.000 --> 01:03:46.000
You know, again, the Calvinist lie is that when you get saved, you're just going to do all the works and it's just this tractor beam of irresistible grace.

01:03:46.000 --> 01:03:48.000
Again, another lie.

01:03:48.000 --> 01:03:52.000
Everyone has free will all the way up to the bitter end.

01:03:52.000 --> 01:03:57.000
And you have to choose to walk in the good works that God has set before you.

01:03:57.000 --> 01:03:58.000
God has something.

01:03:58.000 --> 01:04:02.000
There is something that God wants you to do today.

01:04:02.000 --> 01:04:05.000
There is something that God wants you to do tomorrow.

01:04:05.000 --> 01:04:08.000
There is something that God has planned for your life.

01:04:08.000 --> 01:04:13.000
There are good works out there that God has specifically designed for you.

01:04:13.000 --> 01:04:14.000
I'm not talking about your spouse.

01:04:14.000 --> 01:04:16.000
I'm not talking about your kids.

01:04:16.000 --> 01:04:17.000
I'm not talking about your pastor.

01:04:17.000 --> 01:04:18.000
I'm not talking about your church.

01:04:18.000 --> 01:04:20.000
I'm talking about you as a person.

01:04:20.000 --> 01:04:26.000
God has a plan and God has good works that he set before you that he wants you to do.

01:04:26.000 --> 01:04:34.000
He wants you to walk in and you are incapable of doing that when you were unsaved because when you were unsaved, you were free from righteousness.

01:04:34.000 --> 01:04:38.000
You had no capability, but you have the choice every day to say, you know what?

01:04:38.000 --> 01:04:43.000
Am I going to walk in my old man and accomplish my selfish desires and selfish lust today?

01:04:43.000 --> 01:04:48.000
Or will I walk in newness of life and accomplish the good works that God has laid before me?

01:04:48.000 --> 01:04:56.000
And the only way you can accomplish the works that God has for you is to walk in newness of life, is to walk in the Spirit.

01:04:56.000 --> 01:05:04.000
He says in verse 11, wherefore remember that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh who are called uncircumcision by that which is called the circumcision of the flesh made by hands,

01:05:04.000 --> 01:05:12.000
that at that time you are without Christ being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

01:05:12.000 --> 01:05:30.000
But now in Christ Jesus, ye who sometimes are far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ, for he is our peace, who have made both one and has broken down the middle wall partitioned between us, having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments, contained in ordinance for to make in himself of twain one new man.

01:05:30.000 --> 01:05:35.000
Notice that when Jesus Christ rose again from the dead, there was something new, the new man.

01:05:35.000 --> 01:05:41.000
And you know what? There's so much new with the resurrection. We get the New Testament. We get the new man.

01:05:41.000 --> 01:05:50.000
We get a new Israel, where the Gentiles have been grafted in. We have new commandments. According to the Bible, in the Revelation, we have a new name.

01:05:50.000 --> 01:05:58.000
We have a new song that we're going to sing. We have a new heaven. We have a new earth. We have a new Jerusalem. We're going to get a new body.

01:05:58.000 --> 01:06:06.000
And then he says this, I'm going to make all things new. Boy, that's going to make your wife excited. Doesn't she always like new things?

01:06:07.000 --> 01:06:15.000
It's like, hey, what kind of house do you want? All new, right? Hey, God's going to make everything brand spanking new.

01:06:15.000 --> 01:06:23.000
No used car salesman around here. It's brand new. I mean, that's awesome. Everything's new.

01:06:23.000 --> 01:06:29.000
And you know what? He made you new, too. He put a new spirit inside of you, a new man inside of you.

01:06:29.000 --> 01:06:37.000
But here's the problem. Many of us will allow our flesh to take over and we'll still walk in the flesh.

01:06:37.000 --> 01:06:41.000
And if you really care about the resurrection, you'll say, you know what? I want to continue dying to myself.

01:06:41.000 --> 01:06:49.000
I want to crucify the flesh daily so that I can walk in my newness of life, so I can walk in the commandments that God has for me.

01:06:49.000 --> 01:06:52.000
Go to Colossians, chapter three. Go to Colossians, chapter three.

01:06:52.000 --> 01:07:00.000
You have to understand something that everything we see, according to the Bible, is vanity.

01:07:00.000 --> 01:07:06.000
I mean, you look at Ecclesiastes, vanity of vanity, you say at the preacher. All is vanity.

01:07:06.000 --> 01:07:13.000
Everything you see in this life is vanity. It's temporal. It will not last. It doesn't exist.

01:07:13.000 --> 01:07:20.000
All the lusts of this world, all the passions of this world, all the things that we see and think about, they're going to all be gone.

01:07:20.000 --> 01:07:25.000
Because it's all going to be new. Everything's going to be made new. New body.

01:07:25.000 --> 01:07:29.000
You're like, I don't like my body. Well, you're getting a new one.

01:07:29.000 --> 01:07:34.000
Well, I like this body. Well, that body's going away.

01:07:34.000 --> 01:07:38.000
You know, everything's going to be new. Everything's going to be changed. Everything's going to be different.

01:07:38.000 --> 01:07:46.000
So when you're living for this world, you're putting good money after bad. It's a bad investment.

01:07:47.000 --> 01:07:55.000
The Bible tells us in Colossians chapter three, verse one, if you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ said is on the right end of God.

01:07:55.000 --> 01:08:02.000
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth, for you are dead.

01:08:02.000 --> 01:08:08.000
And here's an important phrase. And your life is hid with Christ and God.

01:08:08.000 --> 01:08:13.000
Your real life, like who you really are, is hidden.

01:08:13.000 --> 01:08:18.000
What your real life looks like is hidden.

01:08:18.000 --> 01:08:26.000
You don't know. Your real home that you're going to live in for all of eternity, you can't see.

01:08:26.000 --> 01:08:31.000
Your new body, you don't even know what it looks like yet. Your new name, you don't even know yet.

01:08:31.000 --> 01:08:36.000
Like everything about you for all of eternity right now is hidden.

01:08:36.000 --> 01:08:40.000
You don't understand it. We can't fully grasp it.

01:08:40.000 --> 01:08:45.000
But God is going to be your existence for all of eternity.

01:08:45.000 --> 01:08:52.000
Do you know how long that is? I mean, 70 years is nothing in comparison to eternity.

01:08:52.000 --> 01:08:57.000
Nothing. Everything in this life is going away and will be forgotten.

01:08:57.000 --> 01:09:03.000
The Bible says we'll forget all of it. The Bible says those that were married won't even realize they were married.

01:09:03.000 --> 01:09:08.000
And those that were not married, we can't even make fun of you for not being married anymore because we want to remember.

01:09:08.000 --> 01:09:11.000
It would be as if they weren't even married.

01:09:11.000 --> 01:09:16.000
Look, everything you think, everything in high school popularity is going to be gone.

01:09:16.000 --> 01:09:26.000
The prom king and the prom queen, all the movies and the music and the lust of this world and the buildings and the fame and the fashion and the magazines

01:09:26.000 --> 01:09:31.000
and all the reprobates and sodomites and freaks and weirdos and highways and whatever.

01:09:31.000 --> 01:09:34.000
All it's gone. Gone. Mountains gone.

01:09:34.000 --> 01:09:37.000
There's going to be no ocean anymore.

01:09:37.000 --> 01:09:39.000
It's all gone.

01:09:39.000 --> 01:09:45.000
I mean, if I told you, hey, there's a company out there on the stock market you can invest in.

01:09:45.000 --> 01:09:50.000
And tomorrow it's going to crash completely and it's going to be gone and you're going to lose all of your money.

01:09:50.000 --> 01:09:55.000
How much would you invest? Would you put your life savings in that?

01:09:55.000 --> 01:09:58.000
Would you want to invest in that company?

01:09:58.000 --> 01:10:04.000
Look, God is telling you, your carnal life is Enron, okay?

01:10:05.000 --> 01:10:12.000
Your carnal life is like donating money to the Philippines through Verity Baptist Church.

01:10:12.000 --> 01:10:16.000
It's not going where you think it is.

01:10:16.000 --> 01:10:18.000
It's just gone.

01:10:18.000 --> 01:10:25.000
What I'm trying to tell you, and it's so hard for us to wrap our minds around, is that this life, our carnal life, has no meaning.

01:10:25.000 --> 01:10:27.000
It's vanity. What is vanity?

01:10:27.000 --> 01:10:31.000
Meaningless. Pointless.

01:10:31.000 --> 01:10:35.000
But you do have meaning when you walk in newness of life.

01:10:35.000 --> 01:10:38.000
You do have meaning when you serve God.

01:10:38.000 --> 01:10:46.000
And your real life, who you really are, your real body, your real home in heaven, your real rewards, they're all hidden in Christ.

01:10:46.000 --> 01:10:50.000
All the people that we're going to hang out with and fellowship with in heaven, hey, it's hidden in Christ.

01:10:50.000 --> 01:10:55.000
When we go out and preach the gospel, hey, those people are going to be with us in heaven.

01:10:55.000 --> 01:10:59.000
There's so much of this world that's fake.

01:10:59.000 --> 01:11:03.000
You know, fake book is what I call it many times.

01:11:03.000 --> 01:11:06.000
There's not going to be fake book. No metaverse.

01:11:06.000 --> 01:11:09.000
Zuckerberg won't be there.

01:11:09.000 --> 01:11:14.000
There's not going to be very many Jews, let's just be honest, right?

01:11:14.000 --> 01:11:19.000
And there's not, there's, he said there's neither Jew nor Greek, okay?

01:11:19.000 --> 01:11:23.000
You know, you have to understand that your life is only with Christ.

01:11:23.000 --> 01:11:26.000
That's the only investment that matters. It's the only thing that's going to last.

01:11:26.000 --> 01:11:33.000
And not only is it going to last, it's going to be 99.99999% of your existence, of everything you ever thought.

01:11:33.000 --> 01:11:37.000
Why would you want to spend any time on anything else?

01:11:37.000 --> 01:11:43.000
Because it just doesn't matter. Jesus Christ rose again so that death would never have dominion over him again.

01:11:43.000 --> 01:11:53.000
We're supposed to walk in the news of life so that we don't waste all the rest of our time on something that doesn't matter anymore, that will never have any impact.

01:11:53.000 --> 01:11:56.000
It's meaningless. Your life is Christ.

01:11:56.000 --> 01:12:05.000
Look, verse four, when Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall you also appear with him in glory.

01:12:05.000 --> 01:12:10.000
Mortify. What does mortify mean? You think about like a mortician deals with dead bodies.

01:12:10.000 --> 01:12:13.000
Mortify means to kill, right?

01:12:13.000 --> 01:12:21.000
Mortify, kill. Therefore your members which are upon the earth, fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness,

01:12:21.000 --> 01:12:26.000
which is idolatry, for which things sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience,

01:12:26.000 --> 01:12:31.000
in the which ye also walked some time when ye lived in them.

01:12:31.000 --> 01:12:37.000
But now ye also put off all these anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, and filth of communication out of your mouth.

01:12:37.000 --> 01:12:43.000
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds,

01:12:43.000 --> 01:12:50.000
and have put on the new man which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.

01:12:50.000 --> 01:13:00.000
Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, barbarian, senthian, bond nor free, but Christ is all and in all.

01:13:00.000 --> 01:13:07.000
Notice again that we are supposed to put off the old man and put on the new man.

01:13:07.000 --> 01:13:11.000
Why would this commandment be in the Bible is automatic?

01:13:11.000 --> 01:13:13.000
It is not automatic.

01:13:13.000 --> 01:13:14.000
And let me explain something to you.

01:13:14.000 --> 01:13:22.000
Most Christians, unfortunately, struggle with putting off the old man and will not put off the old man.

01:13:22.000 --> 01:13:24.000
They will live selfishly.

01:13:24.000 --> 01:13:29.000
But the problem is when you live selfishly, you're actually harming yourself.

01:13:29.000 --> 01:13:32.000
Because you're going to reap what you sow.

01:13:32.000 --> 01:13:33.000
God is not mocked.

01:13:33.000 --> 01:13:35.000
For whatsoever man soweth, that shall ye also reap.

01:13:35.000 --> 01:13:40.000
If ye sow to your flesh, you're going to inherit corruption.

01:13:40.000 --> 01:13:41.000
What is corruption?

01:13:41.000 --> 01:13:44.000
It rots, decays, wastes away, and it's nothing.

01:13:44.000 --> 01:13:52.000
Because if I sow to my flesh, if I sow in this world, eventually it will waste away like the dust that I am, and it will have no meaning.

01:13:52.000 --> 01:13:58.000
Everything that I do in this life will turn to dust and be meaningless again and have no consequence.

01:13:58.000 --> 01:13:59.000
It will see corruption.

01:13:59.000 --> 01:14:02.000
Why don't I work towards things that don't have corruption?

01:14:02.000 --> 01:14:09.000
Lay for myself up treasures in heaven where moth and rust doth not corrupt.

01:14:09.000 --> 01:14:10.000
Look, our bodies are corrupt.

01:14:10.000 --> 01:14:12.000
They're going to go back to the grave.

01:14:12.000 --> 01:14:15.000
We might as well die to ourselves now.

01:14:15.000 --> 01:14:19.000
We celebrate the resurrection today, meaning what?

01:14:19.000 --> 01:14:22.000
We need to die to ourselves and be something new.

01:14:22.000 --> 01:14:24.000
We need to be new.

01:14:24.000 --> 01:14:26.000
We need to walk in the new man.

01:14:26.000 --> 01:14:27.000
We need to walk in newness of life.

01:14:27.000 --> 01:14:30.000
We need to do the good works that God's ordained for us.

01:14:30.000 --> 01:14:37.000
What a shame and an embarrassment to stand before the judgment seat of Christ and to see here is all the things I wanted you to accomplish.

01:14:37.000 --> 01:14:42.000
What did you accomplish?

01:14:42.000 --> 01:14:45.000
You didn't do any of them.

01:14:45.000 --> 01:14:55.000
You know, the Bible says that you'll be judged for all the works that you did, whether they'll be good or bad, and it'll be like, oh, hay, wood, stubble, hay, wood, stubble.

01:14:55.000 --> 01:14:57.000
It'll all be burned.

01:14:57.000 --> 01:14:58.000
You'll still be saved.

01:14:58.000 --> 01:15:01.000
But the Bible says you'll suffer loss in that day.

01:15:01.000 --> 01:15:04.000
You'll suffer loss just like investing in Enron.

01:15:04.000 --> 01:15:10.000
It's like investing in some scam, some fraud, something in this world.

01:15:10.000 --> 01:15:15.000
And look, investing in this world, you have to understand there's going to be corruption.

01:15:15.000 --> 01:15:17.000
It's not going to last.

01:15:17.000 --> 01:15:19.000
So where should your your biggest investments be?

01:15:19.000 --> 01:15:25.000
Where should you put most of your time, effort, energy should invest in the new man and the good works that God has been for you?

01:15:25.000 --> 01:15:27.000
The resurrection.

01:15:27.000 --> 01:15:28.000
That's what we live for.

01:15:28.000 --> 01:15:30.000
That's that's what that's what you hope for.

01:15:30.000 --> 01:15:32.000
We hope for resurrection.

01:15:32.000 --> 01:15:37.000
If we had no resurrection, let's just eat, drink and be married because tomorrow we die.

01:15:37.000 --> 01:15:38.000
What's the point?

01:15:38.000 --> 01:15:48.000
The reason why we have hope is because of the resurrection, because of what Jesus Christ did for us, that we will have the new body and the new man and the new name and a new heaven and a new earth and a new Jerusalem.

01:15:48.000 --> 01:15:51.000
And we are going to inherit with the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:15:51.000 --> 01:15:57.000
But those that did nothing for the Lord Jesus Christ will suffer loss, as the Bible says.

01:15:57.000 --> 01:15:59.000
I'm going to spend the rest of eternity with you.

01:15:59.000 --> 01:16:02.000
I'd rather you have a cool house I can come out and hang out with you at.

01:16:02.000 --> 01:16:03.000
All right.

01:16:03.000 --> 01:16:06.000
You're like, hey, Pastor Shelley, come check out my awesome house.

01:16:06.000 --> 01:16:12.000
And look, some of the soul winning that people have been doing in this church, I'm thinking like they're going to get a pretty awesome house.

01:16:12.000 --> 01:16:15.000
You know what I mean?

01:16:15.000 --> 01:16:20.000
I want to be friends with the people that are going to be awesome in heaven.

01:16:20.000 --> 01:16:28.000
You know, there's going to be some neighborhoods that's kind of like, you know, the ex-NWP neighborhoods going to be kind of lame.

01:16:28.000 --> 01:16:29.000
You know what I mean?

01:16:29.000 --> 01:16:33.000
Just going to say it.

01:16:33.000 --> 01:16:35.000
Some people say if they're there.

01:16:35.000 --> 01:16:38.000
Well, I think some of them will be all right.

01:16:38.000 --> 01:16:42.000
But it might be a little bit disappointing.

01:16:42.000 --> 01:16:44.000
And yet you say heaven's not disappointing.

01:16:44.000 --> 01:16:47.000
Well, look, heaven's not disappointing in the context of hell.

01:16:47.000 --> 01:16:48.000
Of course not.

01:16:48.000 --> 01:16:52.000
But the Bible does teach that the judgment seat of Christ, there will be disappointment.

01:16:52.000 --> 01:16:55.000
There will be disappointment.

01:16:55.000 --> 01:16:59.000
The Bible says, therefore, knowing the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.

01:16:59.000 --> 01:17:03.000
That doesn't sound like it's only good.

01:17:03.000 --> 01:17:09.000
If you're going to have all your works judged, good and bad, that sounds like there's some bad too.

01:17:09.000 --> 01:17:16.000
Sounds like there's going to be some disappointment, some, you know, missed opportunity.

01:17:16.000 --> 01:17:22.000
It's like if we could transport you back to 2009 and say, hey, do you want to invest in Bitcoin?

01:17:22.000 --> 01:17:24.000
And you're like, yeah, I'll put 10 bucks in.

01:17:24.000 --> 01:17:28.000
I mean, you just invest like 10 bucks in Bitcoin in 2009.

01:17:28.000 --> 01:17:32.000
You'd probably have like, I don't know, 100 million dollars.

01:17:32.000 --> 01:17:36.000
But wouldn't you think like, man, I wish I'd invested 20 bucks, right?

01:17:36.000 --> 01:17:40.000
Even if you had that, you'd still be kind of like, well, I wish I'd invested 20.

01:17:40.000 --> 01:17:45.000
And see, even when we stand before the judgment seat of Christ, we'll still say like, you know what, maybe I wish I'd put another five down.

01:17:45.000 --> 01:17:46.000
I wish I'd put another 10 down.

01:17:46.000 --> 01:17:47.000
I wish I'd done a little bit more.

01:17:47.000 --> 01:17:49.000
I wish I had just served Christ a little bit more.

01:17:49.000 --> 01:17:53.000
I wish I had just been a little bit more spiritual and walked in a new man a little bit more.

01:17:53.000 --> 01:17:56.000
I wish I just understood what the resurrection meant a little bit more.

01:17:56.000 --> 01:18:04.000
I wish I realized that my life was actually hidden in Christ and that everything else didn't even matter and was embarrassing and a shame anyways.

01:18:04.000 --> 01:18:07.000
I should just walk in newness of life.

01:18:07.000 --> 01:18:11.000
That's all that matters.

01:18:11.000 --> 01:18:22.000
You know, when we talk about the new I of B, wouldn't it be a shame if we didn't actually walk in newness of life with that kind of a name?

01:18:22.000 --> 01:18:25.000
You know, hey, we should we should be believing the gospel.

01:18:25.000 --> 01:18:27.000
But not only that, we should walk in newness of life as well.

01:18:27.000 --> 01:18:29.000
We should be an example.

01:18:29.000 --> 01:18:30.000
We should separate from sin.

01:18:30.000 --> 01:18:32.000
We should not let sin reign over us.

01:18:32.000 --> 01:18:33.000
That's embarrassing.

01:18:33.000 --> 01:18:36.000
It's embarrassing when somebody's fake.

01:18:36.000 --> 01:18:37.000
It's embarrassing when someone's not real.

01:18:37.000 --> 01:18:42.000
It's embarrassing when someone's not actually doing what the Bible says.

01:18:42.000 --> 01:18:44.000
Go to Ephesians, Chapter four.

01:18:44.000 --> 01:18:48.000
Go to Ephesians, Chapter number four.

01:18:48.000 --> 01:18:51.000
You know, sin is not supposed to reign over us.

01:18:51.000 --> 01:19:06.000
And I want to explain that, you know, the Bible teaches that we shouldn't necessarily serve in the oldness of the letter, but in the newness of the Spirit.

01:19:06.000 --> 01:19:14.000
And what it means by the oldness of the letter is many people follow God's commandments out of just solely just saying, you know, the Bible says don't steal.

01:19:14.000 --> 01:19:15.000
So I'm just not going to steal.

01:19:15.000 --> 01:19:18.000
And they're just thinking like I shouldn't steal.

01:19:18.000 --> 01:19:24.000
But there's another reason why some people won't steal is because they're busy being generous.

01:19:24.000 --> 01:19:29.000
Like when you're just busy being generous, you're not even worried about stealing.

01:19:29.000 --> 01:19:30.000
You're not thinking about it.

01:19:30.000 --> 01:19:32.000
You don't have to actively think about not stealing.

01:19:32.000 --> 01:19:34.000
You're trying to help people.

01:19:34.000 --> 01:19:39.000
But then some people are just like trying really hard not to steal because that's all they're thinking about.

01:19:39.000 --> 01:19:48.000
And when it comes to sin, in many cases, instead of just trying and thinking really hard not to sin, what you should do is you just busy yourself with serving God.

01:19:48.000 --> 01:19:55.000
Because when you're just busy serving God, you're going to you're going to sin less whether you wanted to or not.

01:19:55.000 --> 01:19:59.000
You know, the Bible says a fool soul loathe and honeycomb.

01:20:00.000 --> 01:20:03.000
You know, I could look at this two ways.

01:20:03.000 --> 01:20:05.000
You get full on the world.

01:20:05.000 --> 01:20:08.000
You don't even want something that's good like church and God.

01:20:08.000 --> 01:20:14.000
That's why you should get busy coming to church and doing the things of God so that you're actually going to serve the Lord right.

01:20:14.000 --> 01:20:20.000
I mean, the Bible says blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness, they're going to be filled.

01:20:20.000 --> 01:20:23.000
And, you know, you serve God, you're going to have a full life.

01:20:23.000 --> 01:20:24.000
You're still going to enjoy your life.

01:20:24.000 --> 01:20:31.000
I think that the reason why people are afraid of getting too plugged in the church is the fear of missing out FOMO.

01:20:31.000 --> 01:20:37.000
They're just afraid of, well, but what all the things what about all the things the world has to offer and all the fun.

01:20:37.000 --> 01:20:39.000
Look, you can't do everything the world has to offer.

01:20:39.000 --> 01:20:42.000
And, you know, Dallas Fort Worth should teach you that lesson.

01:20:42.000 --> 01:20:43.000
You know why?

01:20:43.000 --> 01:20:46.000
There is more cool stuff to do here than you could ever do.

01:20:46.000 --> 01:20:49.000
There is more sporting events.

01:20:49.000 --> 01:20:51.000
There is more activities.

01:20:51.000 --> 01:20:52.000
There is more restaurants.

01:20:52.000 --> 01:20:53.000
There is more parks.

01:20:53.000 --> 01:20:55.000
There is more places to live.

01:20:55.000 --> 01:20:58.000
I mean, there is more stuff than you could ever want to do.

01:20:58.000 --> 01:20:59.000
You can't do it all.

01:20:59.000 --> 01:21:05.000
You can't go to every game and every event and every activity and you can't do it all.

01:21:05.000 --> 01:21:09.000
So you have to realize at some level you can't do it all.

01:21:09.000 --> 01:21:12.000
So then why don't I make priority and what should I make priority?

01:21:12.000 --> 01:21:13.000
Well, the things of God.

01:21:13.000 --> 01:21:19.000
You say, oh, well, if I make priority, the things of God, my life will be boring and lame and just a goody two shoes.

01:21:19.000 --> 01:21:20.000
Look, you serve God.

01:21:20.000 --> 01:21:21.000
You serve God.

01:21:21.000 --> 01:21:22.000
It'll be exciting.

01:21:22.000 --> 01:21:26.000
You'll have more drama than a soap opera.

01:21:26.000 --> 01:21:29.000
People, people will do things that you never could have imagined.

01:21:29.000 --> 01:21:32.000
There'll be so many twists and turns.

01:21:32.000 --> 01:21:37.000
You know, it's like you always love that movie where you're like, man, I didn't see that character coming.

01:21:37.000 --> 01:21:43.000
You know, I was kind of like, don't like it when I'm watching a movie and I'm like, that guy's bad.

01:21:43.000 --> 01:21:44.000
Who's like that?

01:21:44.000 --> 01:21:48.000
You know, you just instantly predict it or, you know, you're so good at it.

01:21:48.000 --> 01:21:51.000
Even your wife, she's just like, she's like, what's happening in the movie?

01:21:51.000 --> 01:21:53.000
You know, she's like trying to get you to tell her what's going to happen.

01:21:53.000 --> 01:21:58.000
But real life, I'm telling you, like I can't even necessarily predict what's going to happen.

01:21:58.000 --> 01:22:01.000
Sometimes you're like, this guy's bad.

01:22:01.000 --> 01:22:04.000
And everybody's like, this guy's bad.

01:22:04.000 --> 01:22:05.000
You know what I mean?

01:22:05.000 --> 01:22:07.000
We all get the Doug Trowbredges of the world.

01:22:07.000 --> 01:22:09.000
You know, it's just the guy's so obnoxious.

01:22:09.000 --> 01:22:11.000
It's just like the Seth Lookouts of this world.

01:22:11.000 --> 01:22:12.000
I mean, these guys are just so obnoxious.

01:22:12.000 --> 01:22:15.000
It's like, how could anybody not see that they're weird?

01:22:15.000 --> 01:22:20.000
But then there's some people like a Roger Jimenez that no one sees coming.

01:22:20.000 --> 01:22:30.000
And, dude, the twists and turns of this life, you know, serving God are going to be just as exciting as anything you've ever seen in a football game.

01:22:30.000 --> 01:22:34.000
You know, you see, and you know what about sports that's not fun?

01:22:34.000 --> 01:22:36.000
The refs always ruin it anyways, you know?

01:22:36.000 --> 01:22:40.000
At least in the new IB, there won't be any refs coming around ruining everything for us.

01:22:40.000 --> 01:22:41.000
That's the lawyers or something.

01:22:41.000 --> 01:22:42.000
You know what I mean?

01:22:42.000 --> 01:22:46.000
But at the end of the day, hey, you can only do so much.

01:22:46.000 --> 01:22:52.000
But at the end of the day, you're going to die and stand before Christ and all the other stuff didn't matter.

01:22:52.000 --> 01:22:55.000
Why had front row tickets? Does it matter?

01:22:55.000 --> 01:22:58.000
Jesus is going to be like, would.

01:22:58.000 --> 01:23:02.000
Hey, stubble.

01:23:02.000 --> 01:23:04.000
Being a, oh, I went to the Cowboy Stadium on Sunday morning.

01:23:04.000 --> 01:23:07.000
No, go to church on Sunday morning.

01:23:07.000 --> 01:23:08.000
Go soul winning.

01:23:08.000 --> 01:23:10.000
Preach the gospel.

01:23:10.000 --> 01:23:20.000
And when you come busy serving God, you know, you'll end up noticing, man, I'm just not tempted to do some of the things that I was because at the football game, I was tempted to drink alcohol.

01:23:20.000 --> 01:23:25.000
You're tempted to drink coffee, I guess here.

01:23:25.000 --> 01:23:29.000
You know, at the football game, people are tempted to commit adultery.

01:23:29.000 --> 01:23:39.000
People are tempted to go out and do drugs and get in fights and be, you know, getting mad at each other, getting mad at somebody because they have an Eagles jersey.

01:23:39.000 --> 01:23:42.000
Look, I hate the Eagles just as much as the next cowboy.

01:23:42.000 --> 01:23:46.000
But isn't it stupid just getting a fight with somebody just because they have a different jersey on?

01:23:46.000 --> 01:23:47.000
It's so carnal.

01:23:47.000 --> 01:23:48.000
It's so pathetic.

01:23:48.000 --> 01:23:49.000
It's so lame.

01:23:49.000 --> 01:23:52.000
You might even like this person if they didn't have that stupid jersey on.

01:23:52.000 --> 01:23:56.000
But because of a jersey, you just make all kinds of divisions and get all mad.

01:23:56.000 --> 01:23:58.000
And you say, oh, I don't like screaming.

01:23:58.000 --> 01:23:59.000
I don't like things that are loud.

01:23:59.000 --> 01:24:01.000
Don't go to a football game.

01:24:01.000 --> 01:24:04.000
They'll blow your eardrums out.

01:24:05.000 --> 01:24:10.000
You're going to be tempted to lust and to just do all kinds of evil and wickedness in this world.

01:24:10.000 --> 01:24:14.000
And look, when you go to church, that's not going to happen, folks.

01:24:14.000 --> 01:24:17.000
It's just you didn't have to try.

01:24:17.000 --> 01:24:21.000
You're not trying really hard not to drink alcohol right this minute.

01:24:21.000 --> 01:24:24.000
And if you are, ask for some help.

01:24:24.000 --> 01:24:28.000
OK, but I'm just saying, you know, it's not being passed around.

01:24:28.000 --> 01:24:30.000
They're not offering alcohol.

01:24:31.000 --> 01:24:33.000
But I'm just saying, you know, it's not being passed around.

01:24:33.000 --> 01:24:35.000
They're not offering it.

01:24:35.000 --> 01:24:38.000
We don't have anybody going up and down the stands.

01:24:38.000 --> 01:24:40.000
Get your cars locked.

01:24:41.000 --> 01:24:42.000
Cold one.

01:24:42.000 --> 01:24:44.000
It's like, dude, you've been saying that for an hour.

01:24:44.000 --> 01:24:46.000
How is it still cold?

01:24:47.000 --> 01:24:56.000
You know, pay $27 for a hot dog made by some felon in the back.

01:24:56.000 --> 01:24:58.000
I mean, really?

01:24:58.000 --> 01:24:59.000
Like, you're getting ripped off.

01:24:59.000 --> 01:25:03.000
I mean, it's just you just get ripped off, taken advantage of, and you're just being so carnal.

01:25:03.000 --> 01:25:06.000
And look, I'm not saying going to sporting events is bad.

01:25:06.000 --> 01:25:09.000
I'm not trying to put shade on somebody who likes going to sporting events.

01:25:09.000 --> 01:25:10.000
I like going to sporting events.

01:25:10.000 --> 01:25:11.000
But you know what?

01:25:11.000 --> 01:25:14.000
I'm not going to go to sporting events in place of church.

01:25:15.000 --> 01:25:20.000
I'm not going to substitute the world for church and for the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:25:20.000 --> 01:25:21.000
And let me tell you something.

01:25:21.000 --> 01:25:24.000
Anytime you do, you're definitely not walking in noon as of life.

01:25:24.000 --> 01:25:28.000
Ephesians, chapter four, I want you to look at verse number 17.

01:25:29.000 --> 01:25:36.000
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk,

01:25:36.000 --> 01:25:38.000
and the vanity of their mind.

01:25:39.000 --> 01:25:42.000
The people in this world are living a certain way.

01:25:42.000 --> 01:25:46.000
They have a certain mindset of how the world works, of how they should live their life,

01:25:46.000 --> 01:25:49.000
the things they should accomplish, what they want to do.

01:25:49.000 --> 01:25:51.000
And the Bible saying we should not think like them.

01:25:51.000 --> 01:25:52.000
We should not have their mindset.

01:25:52.000 --> 01:25:54.000
We should not have their attitude.

01:25:54.000 --> 01:25:56.000
Because it's meaningless.

01:25:56.000 --> 01:25:57.000
It's meaningless.

01:25:57.000 --> 01:25:59.000
They're accomplishing nothing for God.

01:25:59.000 --> 01:26:01.000
Having the understanding darkened.

01:26:01.000 --> 01:26:02.000
They're not saved.

01:26:02.000 --> 01:26:03.000
They don't understand.

01:26:03.000 --> 01:26:05.000
The Catholic doesn't understand God.

01:26:05.000 --> 01:26:10.000
Being a notice this alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them.

01:26:10.000 --> 01:26:12.000
Catholics are not saved.

01:26:12.000 --> 01:26:14.000
They're not saved.

01:26:14.000 --> 01:26:16.000
They're not saved.

01:26:16.000 --> 01:26:18.000
They're not saved.

01:26:18.000 --> 01:26:20.000
Through the ignorance that is in them.

01:26:20.000 --> 01:26:23.000
Catholics have zero life with God.

01:26:25.000 --> 01:26:27.000
Well, but they still pray to him.

01:26:27.000 --> 01:26:28.000
Zero.

01:26:28.000 --> 01:26:30.000
They're alienated from God.

01:26:30.000 --> 01:26:32.000
They have no relationship.

01:26:32.000 --> 01:26:34.000
No connection.

01:26:34.000 --> 01:26:36.000
They are not close to him.

01:26:36.000 --> 01:26:38.000
They're not near him.

01:26:38.000 --> 01:26:40.000
They have absolutely nothing.

01:26:40.000 --> 01:26:42.000
They're an alien in comparison.

01:26:42.000 --> 01:26:44.000
They're alienated from God.

01:26:44.000 --> 01:26:47.000
The unsaved has nothing to do with God.

01:26:48.000 --> 01:26:51.000
Yet, even saved people.

01:26:51.000 --> 01:26:53.000
Who walk like them.

01:26:53.000 --> 01:26:55.000
They're living the same way.

01:26:55.000 --> 01:26:56.000
They're being alienated.

01:26:56.000 --> 01:26:57.000
They're alienating themselves from God.

01:26:57.000 --> 01:26:58.000
They're church's day.

01:26:58.000 --> 01:27:01.000
There are people in church this morning on Easter service.

01:27:01.000 --> 01:27:03.000
And they are alienated from God.

01:27:04.000 --> 01:27:06.000
Their whole church is alienated from God.

01:27:06.000 --> 01:27:08.000
It's an abomination unto God.

01:27:08.000 --> 01:27:10.000
It's not what God wants.

01:27:10.000 --> 01:27:12.000
Why? Because they're not walking in newness of life.

01:27:12.000 --> 01:27:14.000
They don't have the right gospel.

01:27:15.000 --> 01:27:17.000
Why? Because of the blindness of their hearts.

01:27:17.000 --> 01:27:19.000
Who being past feeling have given themselves over in the

01:27:19.000 --> 01:27:21.000
nociviusness to work all in cleanliness and greediness.

01:27:21.000 --> 01:27:23.000
But you have not so learned Christ.

01:27:23.000 --> 01:27:25.000
Is so be that you have heard him and have been taught by him

01:27:25.000 --> 01:27:27.000
as the truth is in Jesus.

01:27:27.000 --> 01:27:29.000
That you put off concerning the former conversation.

01:27:29.000 --> 01:27:31.000
The old man.

01:27:31.000 --> 01:27:33.000
Which is corrupt according to deceitful lusts.

01:27:33.000 --> 01:27:35.000
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind.

01:27:35.000 --> 01:27:37.000
And that you put on the new man.

01:27:37.000 --> 01:27:39.000
Which after God has created in righteousness and true holiness.

01:27:39.000 --> 01:27:41.000
And that you put on the new man.

01:27:41.000 --> 01:27:43.000
Which after God has created in righteousness and true holiness.

01:27:43.000 --> 01:27:45.000
And that you put on the new man.

01:27:45.000 --> 01:27:47.000
Which after God has created in righteousness and true holiness.

01:27:47.000 --> 01:27:49.000
You know it's interesting when you read the epistles.

01:27:49.000 --> 01:27:51.000
They pretty much all say the exact same thing on this point.

01:27:51.000 --> 01:27:53.000
They just keep bringing this point up.

01:27:53.000 --> 01:27:55.000
You know that tells me we all need to hear this a lot.

01:27:57.000 --> 01:27:59.000
We need to be reminded.

01:27:59.000 --> 01:28:01.000
Hey why come to church?

01:28:01.000 --> 01:28:03.000
So you can walk in newness of life.

01:28:03.000 --> 01:28:05.000
So you can become spiritual.

01:28:05.000 --> 01:28:07.000
So you can renew your mind.

01:28:07.000 --> 01:28:09.000
So that you can prove that which is right and acceptable.

01:28:09.000 --> 01:28:11.000
Prove what is the good will of God.

01:28:11.000 --> 01:28:13.000
So that you can renew your mind.

01:28:13.000 --> 01:28:15.000
So you can prove what is the good will of God.

01:28:17.000 --> 01:28:19.000
Now what does this look like?

01:28:19.000 --> 01:28:21.000
What does someone that's in righteousness and true holiness.

01:28:21.000 --> 01:28:23.000
Verse 25.

01:28:43.000 --> 01:28:45.000
To summarize these verses.

01:28:45.000 --> 01:28:47.000
This is what the Bible is saying.

01:28:47.000 --> 01:28:49.000
Putting on the new man looks like.

01:28:49.000 --> 01:28:51.000
You don't lie.

01:28:51.000 --> 01:28:53.000
You only speak the truth.

01:28:53.000 --> 01:28:55.000
You can be angry.

01:28:55.000 --> 01:28:57.000
You can be sad.

01:28:57.000 --> 01:28:59.000
You can be sad.

01:28:59.000 --> 01:29:01.000
You can be sad.

01:29:01.000 --> 01:29:03.000
You can be sad.

01:29:03.000 --> 01:29:05.000
You can be sad.

01:29:05.000 --> 01:29:07.000
You can be sad.

01:29:07.000 --> 01:29:09.000
You can be sad.

01:29:09.000 --> 01:29:11.000
You can be sad.

01:29:11.000 --> 01:29:16.880
You can be angry, but you don't sin out of your anger towards your brother.

01:29:16.880 --> 01:29:21.760
You don't steal from people, but rather you work really hard so that you can have extra

01:29:21.760 --> 01:29:27.920
money to give to other people.

01:29:27.920 --> 01:29:28.920
What is corrupt?

01:29:28.920 --> 01:29:34.960
It's something that decays, rots, or as I would say, tears down.

01:29:34.960 --> 01:29:36.320
What is corrupt communication?

01:29:36.320 --> 01:29:38.260
Tearing people down.

01:29:38.260 --> 01:29:39.640
What is edifying speech?

01:29:39.640 --> 01:29:41.040
It's building people up.

01:29:41.040 --> 01:29:42.840
It's encouraging people.

01:29:42.840 --> 01:29:46.880
It's motivating people to do the right thing.

01:29:46.880 --> 01:29:49.000
Grieving the Holy Spirit by what?

01:29:49.000 --> 01:29:51.200
Having bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, evil speaking.

01:29:51.200 --> 01:29:52.200
What is that with malice?

01:29:52.200 --> 01:29:57.680
It's basically just saying mean, hurtful things to harm people.

01:29:57.680 --> 01:29:58.680
What does the Bible say?

01:29:58.680 --> 01:30:03.080
We should be kind, we should be tender-hearted, and we should be forgiving towards one another.

01:30:03.080 --> 01:30:08.920
So if you think about it, someone that's in church that is lying, stealing, tearing people

01:30:08.920 --> 01:30:17.120
down, not kind, and not forgiving is not working, is not walking in the new man whatsoever.

01:30:17.120 --> 01:30:18.760
They're not in the new man at all.

01:30:18.760 --> 01:30:21.040
They're not spiritual whatsoever.

01:30:21.040 --> 01:30:26.340
If you can see somebody that's in all kinds of lies, lying about their brethren, they're

01:30:26.340 --> 01:30:30.560
stealing from their brethren, they're tearing people down through what?

01:30:30.560 --> 01:30:32.640
Their lies of their brethren.

01:30:32.640 --> 01:30:36.820
They're not kind to people, and they're unforgiving towards people.

01:30:36.820 --> 01:30:39.380
That's someone that's not in the new man at all.

01:30:39.380 --> 01:30:40.380
They're a servant of sin.

01:30:40.380 --> 01:30:43.140
And look, it doesn't matter.

01:30:43.140 --> 01:30:44.940
Even a pastor could be like this.

01:30:44.940 --> 01:30:47.540
You know, we've seen some ugly stuff lately.

01:30:47.540 --> 01:30:52.500
You know, Roger Menes was lying consistently about the missions funds that was going on

01:30:52.500 --> 01:30:53.500
in that church.

01:30:53.500 --> 01:30:58.940
Then he was lying about Pastor Anderson, he lied about me, he lied about Pastor Oz.

01:30:58.940 --> 01:31:03.020
He was stealing from Pastor Matthew Stuckey.

01:31:03.020 --> 01:31:08.460
He was tearing people down, tearing down Pastor Anderson repeatedly from his pulpit.

01:31:08.460 --> 01:31:13.700
He was not kind to his staff, and text messages prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt, and

01:31:13.700 --> 01:31:14.700
totally unforgiving.

01:31:14.700 --> 01:31:20.940
Even when he just is just browbeating his servants to death, and they apologize North

01:31:20.940 --> 01:31:24.340
Korean style, he still comes after them.

01:31:24.340 --> 01:31:28.660
That's unforgiving.

01:31:28.660 --> 01:31:29.660
What does that tell me?

01:31:29.660 --> 01:31:32.880
That's someone that's just not walking in newness of life.

01:31:32.880 --> 01:31:36.120
And if they're not walking in newness of life, well, you know what?

01:31:36.120 --> 01:31:37.800
It's all vanity.

01:31:37.800 --> 01:31:38.960
It's all vanity.

01:31:38.960 --> 01:31:41.120
They don't really care about the resurrection.

01:31:41.120 --> 01:31:42.840
They're not walking in newness of life.

01:31:42.840 --> 01:31:43.840
And you know what?

01:31:43.840 --> 01:31:46.160
They're going to be ashamed of the judgment seat of Christ for the bad works that they've

01:31:46.160 --> 01:31:48.260
done.

01:31:48.260 --> 01:31:50.280
We need to be walking in newness of life.

01:31:50.280 --> 01:31:54.920
And you know, hey, being new IFB should be also walking in the new man.

01:31:54.920 --> 01:31:55.920
And what is that?

01:31:55.920 --> 01:31:57.880
It's someone that will not lie to you.

01:31:57.880 --> 01:32:00.280
It's someone that will tell you the truth.

01:32:00.280 --> 01:32:05.360
It's someone that won't steal from you, but rather will work hard and will give you the

01:32:05.360 --> 01:32:07.680
shirt off their own back.

01:32:07.680 --> 01:32:13.720
Would just pay for you and give you money and will be generous, a generous person.

01:32:13.720 --> 01:32:17.160
Someone that's not going to tear you down, but is rather going to try and build you up

01:32:17.160 --> 01:32:19.500
and build others up.

01:32:19.500 --> 01:32:23.280
And they're not going to allow bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and evil speaking

01:32:23.280 --> 01:32:27.960
to control them and can sue them to where every day all day all they can do is just

01:32:27.960 --> 01:32:33.280
talk badly about other people, even their brothers and sisters in Christ.

01:32:33.280 --> 01:32:36.520
But you know, it's going to be someone that's kind.

01:32:36.520 --> 01:32:38.800
We should be kind to one another.

01:32:38.800 --> 01:32:41.280
Not only should we cordial, we should be kind.

01:32:41.280 --> 01:32:44.680
We should be tenderhearted towards one another and we should forgive.

01:32:44.680 --> 01:32:50.160
If someone does something that we don't like or trespassed against us or did evil or we

01:32:50.160 --> 01:32:53.840
didn't like them and they apologize, they try to get away, we should just forgive them

01:32:53.960 --> 01:32:59.320
and let it go and not dwell with bitterness, not let bitterness consume us, not get placed

01:32:59.320 --> 01:33:00.320
under the devil.

01:33:00.320 --> 01:33:05.560
This is what it means to walk in newness of life.

01:33:05.560 --> 01:33:07.520
And look, I think we all struggle with sin.

01:33:07.520 --> 01:33:10.720
We're all going to struggle with sin.

01:33:10.720 --> 01:33:16.880
But instead of worrying about how to fix your sin problems in your life, if you feel a little

01:33:16.880 --> 01:33:20.880
backslidden, if you feel like you're too carnal, if you feel like you're struggling with sin,

01:33:20.880 --> 01:33:24.920
instead of worrying about that, this is all I want you to do.

01:33:24.920 --> 01:33:27.040
Walk in newness of life.

01:33:27.040 --> 01:33:30.320
Just become, just be consumed with church.

01:33:30.320 --> 01:33:37.320
Just get busy with church and watch yourself get better at controlling your sin.

01:33:37.320 --> 01:33:41.880
Let Jesus Christ be the one that you serve, not sin, not your carnal desires, not your

01:33:41.880 --> 01:33:42.880
lusts.

01:33:42.880 --> 01:33:47.840
You know, if you struggle, if you're thinking about like a man, men, all the men in the

01:33:47.840 --> 01:33:53.000
Bible virtually, they struggled with having multiple women or multiple wives.

01:33:53.000 --> 01:33:55.360
And that's a temptation in this world.

01:33:55.360 --> 01:33:59.280
You know, instead of just thinking like, don't commit adultery, don't commit adultery, don't

01:33:59.280 --> 01:34:01.400
commit adultery, you know what you should do?

01:34:01.400 --> 01:34:02.400
I love my wife.

01:34:02.400 --> 01:34:04.080
I'm thinking about my wife.

01:34:04.080 --> 01:34:08.000
You know, if you just think about your wife, then you have less time to think about not

01:34:08.000 --> 01:34:09.000
doing stupid things.

01:34:09.000 --> 01:34:10.000
Why don't you do this?

01:34:10.000 --> 01:34:12.700
Why don't you just daydream about your spouse?

01:34:12.700 --> 01:34:17.200
And let me tell you something, the workplace and carnal men in this world, they daydream

01:34:17.240 --> 01:34:19.760
all day long about other women.

01:34:19.760 --> 01:34:21.320
It's gross.

01:34:21.320 --> 01:34:22.360
It's disgusting.

01:34:22.360 --> 01:34:27.440
It's disgusting that men have posters of other women in their garage.

01:34:27.440 --> 01:34:29.280
It's gross and disgusting.

01:34:29.280 --> 01:34:30.280
It's reprehensible.

01:34:30.280 --> 01:34:31.280
It's embarrassing.

01:34:31.280 --> 01:34:32.280
It's shameful.

01:34:32.280 --> 01:34:37.440
And look, every man is tempted to think about other women or to look at other women or whatever.

01:34:37.440 --> 01:34:38.440
But you know what?

01:34:38.440 --> 01:34:40.500
You should be embarrassed and ashamed if you did that.

01:34:40.500 --> 01:34:42.380
You shouldn't be bragging about it.

01:34:42.380 --> 01:34:44.620
You shouldn't be encouraging others to do it.

01:34:45.100 --> 01:34:49.420
There's many times you go at work or in high school or in college or other men and they're

01:34:49.420 --> 01:34:52.740
just like, man, have you seen this babe?

01:34:52.740 --> 01:34:55.980
You know, I was thinking about this babe or this is my favorite celebrity or this is,

01:34:55.980 --> 01:34:56.980
have you seen this or whatever?

01:34:56.980 --> 01:35:00.020
It's like, that's gross and corrupt speech.

01:35:00.020 --> 01:35:01.020
It's filthy communication.

01:35:01.020 --> 01:35:03.380
You shouldn't be talking about that.

01:35:03.380 --> 01:35:04.380
You know what?

01:35:04.380 --> 01:35:05.820
You say like, man, I really struggle in that area.

01:35:05.820 --> 01:35:07.780
Well, stop thinking about it.

01:35:07.780 --> 01:35:10.460
You say, how do I stop thinking about it?

01:35:10.460 --> 01:35:12.780
Start thinking about your wife.

01:35:12.780 --> 01:35:16.740
Rejoice with the wife of thy youth is what the Bible says.

01:35:16.740 --> 01:35:19.180
Be thou always satisfied with her.

01:35:19.180 --> 01:35:20.180
OK?

01:35:20.180 --> 01:35:24.900
If you think about your spouse, you don't have time to think about other women.

01:35:24.900 --> 01:35:25.900
Rejoice with thy wife.

01:35:25.900 --> 01:35:29.220
You know, the full soul loathes the honeycomb.

01:35:29.220 --> 01:35:31.980
If you're full of your wife, you don't want another woman.

01:35:31.980 --> 01:35:41.140
You know, I do this sometimes where, you know, I kind of ebb and flow on my dieting because,

01:35:41.180 --> 01:35:44.540
you know, I'm like, I'm in good shape, I'm healthy.

01:35:44.540 --> 01:35:48.500
And then I eat like a French fry and it's just like explode or something.

01:35:48.500 --> 01:35:53.340
You know, it's like after you turn 35, it's just like food doesn't work the same way.

01:35:53.340 --> 01:35:55.380
It's like when I'm in college, I could eat anything.

01:35:55.380 --> 01:35:59.460
I could eat like a whole pizza and like a bucket of fries and three burgers and I was

01:35:59.460 --> 01:36:00.460
fine.

01:36:00.460 --> 01:36:04.140
It's like, you know, when you turn 35, it's like smelling a French fry and you get fat.

01:36:04.140 --> 01:36:05.140
It's just weird.

01:36:05.140 --> 01:36:06.140
OK?

01:36:06.140 --> 01:36:07.300
It's frustrating.

01:36:07.300 --> 01:36:12.380
So it's so easy to pack on pounds, you know, especially with the desk job.

01:36:12.380 --> 01:36:19.660
So I've dieted a lot in my life, you know, and when I'm dieting, I'll just be honest

01:36:19.660 --> 01:36:20.660
with you.

01:36:20.660 --> 01:36:22.420
If I'm dieting, I'm doing it right.

01:36:22.420 --> 01:36:26.620
I am hungry every second.

01:36:26.620 --> 01:36:30.020
If you're dieting and you're not starving and your stomach doesn't hurt, you're not

01:36:30.020 --> 01:36:31.580
dieting correctly.

01:36:31.580 --> 01:36:33.140
OK?

01:36:33.140 --> 01:36:34.140
And why?

01:36:34.380 --> 01:36:38.420
To diet, you have to have basically less calories coming in than you're expending.

01:36:38.420 --> 01:36:39.860
And it's painful.

01:36:39.860 --> 01:36:40.860
It hurts.

01:36:40.860 --> 01:36:41.860
OK?

01:36:41.860 --> 01:36:42.860
It's not comfortable.

01:36:42.860 --> 01:36:44.220
That's why most people can't do it.

01:36:44.220 --> 01:36:45.900
That's why they're always looking for an alternative.

01:36:45.900 --> 01:36:51.780
That's why there's literally any and every other option because pain, cause pain.

01:36:51.780 --> 01:36:54.180
They don't want the pain.

01:36:54.180 --> 01:36:55.180
But you know what?

01:36:55.180 --> 01:36:56.660
Pain is good sometimes.

01:36:56.660 --> 01:37:01.020
But whenever I'm struggling, you know, it doesn't help that I'm sitting here like,

01:37:01.020 --> 01:37:04.100
because I'm just sitting here when I'm hungry, I'm just like, I want burger and fries.

01:37:04.100 --> 01:37:05.100
I want a burger and fries.

01:37:05.100 --> 01:37:06.980
You know, I want junk food.

01:37:06.980 --> 01:37:07.980
I want chocolate.

01:37:07.980 --> 01:37:08.980
I want dessert.

01:37:08.980 --> 01:37:11.420
And I mean, my wife makes awesome desserts.

01:37:11.420 --> 01:37:12.740
She makes awesome stuff.

01:37:12.740 --> 01:37:15.140
I mean, it's just like, man, I want any of this.

01:37:15.140 --> 01:37:17.900
I want bread, just bread in general.

01:37:17.900 --> 01:37:20.740
Pretty much our pantry is just the calorie pantry.

01:37:20.740 --> 01:37:21.740
It's calorie hell.

01:37:21.740 --> 01:37:22.740
OK?

01:37:22.740 --> 01:37:29.260
It's like cereal and bread and just like anything that is non-perishable is just calorie expensive.

01:37:29.260 --> 01:37:30.260
OK?

01:37:30.260 --> 01:37:31.260
And I want all of it.

01:37:31.260 --> 01:37:32.260
All right?

01:37:33.260 --> 01:37:37.460
I don't know how to solve it.

01:37:37.460 --> 01:37:38.940
But this is how you solve it.

01:37:38.940 --> 01:37:40.380
All right?

01:37:40.380 --> 01:37:46.620
You get a bunch of carrots and you just start eating them.

01:37:46.620 --> 01:37:47.620
And here's the thing.

01:37:47.620 --> 01:37:49.460
You say like, is that because you like carrots?

01:37:49.460 --> 01:37:50.460
No.

01:37:50.460 --> 01:37:51.460
I mean, I can tolerate.

01:37:51.460 --> 01:37:52.820
It's not like it has a bad taste or anything.

01:37:52.820 --> 01:37:54.100
It doesn't like, it's not offensive to me.

01:37:54.100 --> 01:37:55.820
But it's just like, it's not, I don't want it.

01:37:55.820 --> 01:37:56.820
But here's the thing.

01:37:56.820 --> 01:37:59.900
You just start, you just start eating like a big carrot.

01:37:59.900 --> 01:38:00.900
Right?

01:38:00.940 --> 01:38:02.420
You won't even get close to finishing it.

01:38:02.420 --> 01:38:05.660
You're like, I don't even want to eat anymore.

01:38:05.660 --> 01:38:07.780
You're just like, you're just kind of like, I'm just done eating.

01:38:07.780 --> 01:38:10.860
Like, this is like, like who wants to just sit here and eat like a whole bag of carrots

01:38:10.860 --> 01:38:11.860
or something?

01:38:11.860 --> 01:38:12.860
You know what I mean?

01:38:12.860 --> 01:38:13.860
But why?

01:38:13.860 --> 01:38:16.100
Because the full soul loathes in honeycomb.

01:38:16.100 --> 01:38:20.540
And when you're hungering and thirsting after righteousness, you're going to be filled.

01:38:20.540 --> 01:38:21.620
And here's the thing.

01:38:21.620 --> 01:38:25.180
You may right now be like, but Pastor Shelley, I just want to do all these carnal things

01:38:25.180 --> 01:38:28.060
and I just want to live this carnal life and I just want to go out there and hang out and

01:38:28.060 --> 01:38:29.060
do all these, this stuff.

01:38:29.700 --> 01:38:30.700
But let me tell you something.

01:38:30.700 --> 01:38:33.620
You go to church Sunday morning, you go to church Sunday night and you go soul hunting

01:38:33.620 --> 01:38:34.620
in between.

01:38:34.620 --> 01:38:38.140
You go to church on Wednesday night and you go up to the activities and you go soul hunting

01:38:38.140 --> 01:38:39.140
on Saturday.

01:38:39.140 --> 01:38:42.980
You're going to be like, man, I don't want to go out.

01:38:42.980 --> 01:38:45.020
I don't want to go do these other things.

01:38:45.020 --> 01:38:48.420
I don't want to waste my money on this other stuff because I'm full.

01:38:48.420 --> 01:38:52.460
I want to stay home.

01:38:52.460 --> 01:38:58.300
I'm telling you, when you get full of the right thing, it helps to not want the bad

01:38:58.340 --> 01:38:59.340
thing.

01:38:59.340 --> 01:39:03.860
And instead of just being like, I just got to stay away from the bad things.

01:39:03.860 --> 01:39:05.860
It doesn't work that well.

01:39:05.860 --> 01:39:07.740
Don't try to serve in the oldness of the letter.

01:39:07.740 --> 01:39:12.900
Try to serve in the newness of the spirit by putting on the new man, by walking in the

01:39:12.900 --> 01:39:13.900
news of the spirit.

01:39:13.900 --> 01:39:16.540
You know, here's my advice.

01:39:16.540 --> 01:39:22.860
Why don't you just go ahead and just make Steadfast Baptist Church your home?

01:39:22.860 --> 01:39:27.660
You know, some people will, you know, be a little bit ambitious and that's good.

01:39:27.660 --> 01:39:28.660
I like ambition.

01:39:28.660 --> 01:39:29.660
They're excited.

01:39:29.660 --> 01:39:32.220
They're like, hey, how do I get plugged in more at church?

01:39:32.220 --> 01:39:37.020
And I'm thinking like, come.

01:39:37.020 --> 01:39:38.020
Just start there.

01:39:38.020 --> 01:39:39.260
Just show up.

01:39:39.260 --> 01:39:40.260
Right?

01:39:40.260 --> 01:39:45.060
Step one, come to church and not only just make Steadfast Baptist Church your home church,

01:39:45.060 --> 01:39:47.620
why don't you just come three times a week?

01:39:47.620 --> 01:39:50.660
Go back to Colossians chapter three, go back to Colossians chapter three.

01:39:50.660 --> 01:39:54.180
You know, you say, hey, how do I get plugged in at church?

01:39:54.180 --> 01:39:55.180
I want to do more.

01:39:55.180 --> 01:39:56.180
I want to serve more.

01:39:56.340 --> 01:39:57.940
First, just make it your home church.

01:39:57.940 --> 01:39:59.900
Number two, come three times a week.

01:39:59.900 --> 01:40:01.620
Number three, read your Bible daily.

01:40:03.260 --> 01:40:05.540
You say like, how is that going to help church?

01:40:05.540 --> 01:40:06.540
Well, you know what?

01:40:06.540 --> 01:40:07.660
It is going to help church because you know what?

01:40:07.660 --> 01:40:08.660
You're going to like the sermons.

01:40:10.020 --> 01:40:11.220
You know why people come to this church?

01:40:11.220 --> 01:40:12.220
Because they read their Bible.

01:40:12.220 --> 01:40:13.380
You know why people leave this church?

01:40:13.380 --> 01:40:16.780
Because they stopped reading the Bible and they forgot what the Bible said.

01:40:16.780 --> 01:40:19.940
And then they want to get sucked into things that are nonsense.

01:40:19.940 --> 01:40:23.380
People that read their Bible actively come to churches like ours.

01:40:23.380 --> 01:40:26.620
People that don't read their Bible will get drug out of these type of churches.

01:40:28.420 --> 01:40:29.820
So like, how do I do more at church?

01:40:29.820 --> 01:40:31.260
Read your Bible, please.

01:40:31.260 --> 01:40:33.660
And look, I try to quote a lot of verses and I bring up a lot of stories.

01:40:33.660 --> 01:40:36.020
The more you're reading the Bible, the more it'll just trigger things

01:40:36.020 --> 01:40:38.340
and the Holy Spirit will be able to talk to you and convict you

01:40:38.340 --> 01:40:39.820
and try to get you to do the right thing.

01:40:39.820 --> 01:40:43.900
And look, you can learn some from preaching, but let me just be honest with you.

01:40:43.900 --> 01:40:48.420
You're going to learn about five percent in comparison to Bible reading.

01:40:48.460 --> 01:40:53.620
You will learn way more reading your Bible than you will ever learn

01:40:53.620 --> 01:40:55.620
coming to church and just hearing preaching.

01:40:55.620 --> 01:41:00.580
You will grow more reading your Bible than you ever will just listening to preaching.

01:41:00.580 --> 01:41:04.820
You will stunt your growth severely if you're not reading the Bible for yourself.

01:41:04.820 --> 01:41:10.620
Please read the Bible for yourself and not look, I'm for challenges

01:41:10.620 --> 01:41:15.740
and I'm for timelines and I'm for like getting through the Bible in a specific time.

01:41:15.780 --> 01:41:16.500
But you know what?

01:41:16.500 --> 01:41:22.300
It's better to understand what you're reading than to just speed read through the Bible, folks.

01:41:22.300 --> 01:41:28.340
I'd rather you read two chapters twice and understand them than read 10 chapters fast

01:41:28.340 --> 01:41:32.140
and walk away and not even know what happened.

01:41:32.140 --> 01:41:35.140
And look, my mind is as active as the next guy.

01:41:35.140 --> 01:41:37.380
My wife would probably accuse me of having ADHD or something,

01:41:37.380 --> 01:41:40.820
but I read the Bible many times and I'm just like,

01:41:40.820 --> 01:41:44.100
all I thought about was anything other than what I was reading.

01:41:44.100 --> 01:41:45.540
But you know, that's not good.

01:41:45.540 --> 01:41:48.380
Just go back and just force yourself to read it again.

01:41:48.380 --> 01:41:52.340
Find a time when you can read and pay attention more.

01:41:52.340 --> 01:41:55.900
And I'll be honest, like it's tough for me because I like reading in the mornings,

01:41:55.900 --> 01:42:02.780
but my mind is like a firecracker in the morning sometimes and I can't turn it off.

01:42:02.780 --> 01:42:07.060
And so sometimes I try to read and it's just like I can only think about everything I

01:42:07.060 --> 01:42:10.060
have to accomplish that day, everything I got to do, all of my work.

01:42:10.060 --> 01:42:13.940
Sometimes it helps me to just read late at night or later where I can just,

01:42:13.940 --> 01:42:18.140
you know, focus or when I don't have seven kids attacking me, you know,

01:42:18.140 --> 01:42:21.860
just like, you know, and it's going to be different for every person.

01:42:21.860 --> 01:42:23.620
It could be best for you at lunch.

01:42:23.620 --> 01:42:25.580
It could be best for you in the morning.

01:42:25.580 --> 01:42:27.420
It could be best for you in the evening.

01:42:27.420 --> 01:42:28.900
But please read something.

01:42:28.900 --> 01:42:34.380
And look, you know, I think this is another problem with Bible reading plans.

01:42:34.380 --> 01:42:37.140
Maybe you have a good aggressive Bible reading plan.

01:42:37.140 --> 01:42:38.860
Maybe you try to read for 30 minutes a day.

01:42:38.860 --> 01:42:40.580
That's awesome.

01:42:40.580 --> 01:42:44.140
But like, let's say it's towards the evening and you didn't read your Bible

01:42:44.140 --> 01:42:45.980
and you're like, well, I don't have time to read for 30 minutes.

01:42:45.980 --> 01:42:48.220
Just read a chapter then.

01:42:48.220 --> 01:42:50.500
But don't do nothing.

01:42:50.500 --> 01:42:52.540
Just read a chapter.

01:42:52.540 --> 01:42:55.300
Just don't get in a habit where you're just like, well, I've gotten three weeks

01:42:55.300 --> 01:42:58.460
and I haven't even touched my Bible because I didn't have 30 minutes.

01:42:58.460 --> 01:43:01.740
OK. Just read a chapter at least.

01:43:01.740 --> 01:43:02.940
Just read something.

01:43:02.940 --> 01:43:05.900
Just consume the Bible.

01:43:05.900 --> 01:43:07.660
You say, why?

01:43:07.660 --> 01:43:12.780
That will keep you in this church and not just this church, a good church.

01:43:12.780 --> 01:43:14.860
It'll keep you in good churches.

01:43:14.860 --> 01:43:19.860
People that aren't reading their Bible will fall victim to bad preaching.

01:43:19.860 --> 01:43:22.100
They'll fall victim to bad doctrine.

01:43:22.100 --> 01:43:25.340
They won't challenge their church and their pastor and their brethren

01:43:25.340 --> 01:43:26.780
on what the Bible says.

01:43:26.780 --> 01:43:27.700
They won't be renewed.

01:43:27.700 --> 01:43:29.860
They won't have a life with God.

01:43:29.860 --> 01:43:32.300
Your life is Christ. This is Christ.

01:43:32.300 --> 01:43:35.140
Welcome to Jesus. Say, I want Jesus to talk to me.

01:43:35.180 --> 01:43:38.020
Here you go.

01:43:38.020 --> 01:43:40.580
It's right here. He wants to talk to you.

01:43:40.580 --> 01:43:42.700
He's not going to tell you to get the red corvette.

01:43:42.700 --> 01:43:44.380
He's going to tell you to turn to Colossians 3.

01:43:44.380 --> 01:43:47.220
That's what he's going to tell you to do.

01:43:47.220 --> 01:43:49.660
How about this? How about do the memory verse?

01:43:49.660 --> 01:43:51.540
I want to get plugged in more church. OK.

01:43:51.540 --> 01:43:53.660
Memorize Romans 10.

01:43:53.660 --> 01:43:56.260
Memorize the new chapter of the Bible.

01:43:56.260 --> 01:43:59.420
Here's one. How about you learn the hymns and the songs that we're singing

01:43:59.420 --> 01:44:02.540
and actually sing them when we're here?

01:44:02.540 --> 01:44:03.820
I want to get plugged more to church.

01:44:03.820 --> 01:44:05.460
Sing with us.

01:44:07.060 --> 01:44:08.380
This is going to walk.

01:44:08.380 --> 01:44:11.140
I mean, the Bible tells us that we're supposed to admonish one another.

01:44:11.140 --> 01:44:12.660
Look at what it says in verse 16.

01:44:12.660 --> 01:44:15.740
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly and all wisdom,

01:44:15.980 --> 01:44:20.860
teaching and admonishing one another in songs and hymns and spiritual songs,

01:44:20.940 --> 01:44:23.220
singing with grace in your hearts of the Lord.

01:44:23.220 --> 01:44:25.500
Don't tell me you're plugged in in this church.

01:44:25.580 --> 01:44:30.060
If you're not singing out loud the songs and the hymns and all the music,

01:44:30.540 --> 01:44:32.660
because you know what? You're not plugged in

01:44:32.660 --> 01:44:35.660
and you're not growing and you're not learning in wisdom

01:44:35.980 --> 01:44:39.780
and you're not renewing yourself and you're allowing your carnal nature,

01:44:39.780 --> 01:44:42.580
your laziness to set in.

01:44:42.580 --> 01:44:46.340
Jesus Christ can die on the cross and go to hell for you.

01:44:46.420 --> 01:44:49.540
And you can't even sing about it.

01:44:53.300 --> 01:44:54.420
You can't even say thank you.

01:44:54.420 --> 01:44:56.500
It's like, where are the nine?

01:44:57.140 --> 01:44:59.740
Only this one stranger came.

01:44:59.780 --> 01:45:02.900
You know, the Bible says out of the mouth of babes and sucklings,

01:45:02.900 --> 01:45:04.100
that's perfected praise.

01:45:04.100 --> 01:45:08.940
You know what, kids, they just unashamedly just blast it out and sing.

01:45:09.140 --> 01:45:10.980
And it's always sweet, too, isn't it?

01:45:12.540 --> 01:45:14.980
They have such a sweet spirit about their singing.

01:45:15.140 --> 01:45:16.700
And I love it.

01:45:18.100 --> 01:45:19.820
So does Jesus.

01:45:19.820 --> 01:45:21.940
Here's number six. How about you apply the sermons?

01:45:21.940 --> 01:45:24.180
If you're going to come here and let me yell at you for an hour,

01:45:24.780 --> 01:45:26.580
why don't you just do it?

01:45:26.900 --> 01:45:30.900
You know, I'm not saying that it couldn't happen,

01:45:31.340 --> 01:45:33.900
but I would say this, that I've almost had no one.

01:45:34.020 --> 01:45:36.620
I can't remember a single time.

01:45:36.620 --> 01:45:38.460
I don't think it ever will happen.

01:45:38.460 --> 01:45:39.700
It's possible.

01:45:39.700 --> 01:45:42.020
But I've never had someone come to me, say, Pastor Shelley,

01:45:42.180 --> 01:45:43.860
I listen to your sermon.

01:45:43.860 --> 01:45:46.420
I did it and it ruined my life.

01:45:46.420 --> 01:45:49.380
Pastor Shelley, I listen to your sermon and I followed your advice.

01:45:49.380 --> 01:45:51.380
And now I'm just I'm suffering greatly.

01:45:51.380 --> 01:45:54.220
I hate that I followed your advice.

01:45:54.260 --> 01:45:55.900
I did what the Bible said.

01:45:55.900 --> 01:45:58.260
And it's terrible.

01:45:58.260 --> 01:45:59.820
But you know, I do hear this.

01:45:59.820 --> 01:46:02.020
I didn't do what you said.

01:46:02.020 --> 01:46:04.260
I didn't follow the Bible's advice.

01:46:04.260 --> 01:46:05.180
I didn't.

01:46:05.180 --> 01:46:07.820
And it's just train wreck after train wreck after train wreck.

01:46:09.220 --> 01:46:10.060
Do you believe or not?

01:46:10.060 --> 01:46:11.700
Do you believe what the Bible says or not?

01:46:11.700 --> 01:46:13.140
Why don't you just do it?

01:46:13.140 --> 01:46:14.540
Why don't you have the faith to say, you know what?

01:46:14.540 --> 01:46:17.740
I'm just going to do what the Bible says and see how it turns out.

01:46:17.740 --> 01:46:20.060
How about number seven, get baptized if you haven't gotten baptized.

01:46:20.540 --> 01:46:22.900
I mean, hey, you want to walk into this light, you got to get baptized.

01:46:23.420 --> 01:46:24.780
We have a baptism this morning.

01:46:24.780 --> 01:46:25.300
Praise God.

01:46:26.340 --> 01:46:29.180
Go go soul winning weekly.

01:46:29.180 --> 01:46:30.820
Show up to the events.

01:46:30.820 --> 01:46:32.020
Register for the events.

01:46:32.020 --> 01:46:33.780
Show up when you register for the events.

01:46:36.380 --> 01:46:39.300
Number 10, I would go to the marathons, too.

01:46:39.300 --> 01:46:41.300
How about go on the missions trips?

01:46:41.300 --> 01:46:44.180
Look, there's so many people that they're they're not even doing like half of these.

01:46:44.180 --> 01:46:46.820
And they're like, how do I get more plugged in at church?

01:46:46.820 --> 01:46:49.140
Bro, start here.

01:46:49.140 --> 01:46:52.020
There's a lot to do so far.

01:46:52.020 --> 01:46:54.900
How about just praying for your church members?

01:46:54.900 --> 01:46:58.140
Take the prayer list home, pray for them.

01:46:58.140 --> 01:46:59.460
How about bear one another's burdens?

01:46:59.460 --> 01:47:00.060
There's people in this.

01:47:00.060 --> 01:47:01.820
There's a lot of people in this church now.

01:47:01.820 --> 01:47:02.780
A lot of people have burdens.

01:47:02.780 --> 01:47:04.300
A lot of people have needs.

01:47:04.300 --> 01:47:06.620
Why don't you care about someone else?

01:47:06.620 --> 01:47:11.500
You know, a lot of people are at church thinking about their burdens, their needs, their wants.

01:47:11.500 --> 01:47:15.620
Why don't you be someone else's burden carrier?

01:47:15.620 --> 01:47:17.380
That's a great way to get plugged into church.

01:47:17.380 --> 01:47:20.740
You know, a lot of ladies, they make meals for other ladies in our church.

01:47:20.820 --> 01:47:22.820
That's a great way to get plugged in and help.

01:47:22.820 --> 01:47:27.140
Or they they assist or help them or do stuff for them.

01:47:27.140 --> 01:47:29.300
How about, you know, get involved in our music program?

01:47:29.300 --> 01:47:30.940
We have a great music program.

01:47:30.940 --> 01:47:32.020
We have great people.

01:47:32.020 --> 01:47:34.660
That's a great way to get plugged in.

01:47:34.660 --> 01:47:36.980
There's a lot of people that clean, they help the volunteer.

01:47:36.980 --> 01:47:40.980
You know, before you get to those stages where you get visible recognition for getting plugged in,

01:47:40.980 --> 01:47:44.260
why don't you all the other stuff first?

01:47:44.260 --> 01:47:48.660
And, you know, I think an ultimate goal for a lot of you men, you know, become a soul winning captain.

01:47:50.740 --> 01:47:54.660
And, you know, you think about our four soul winning captains, you know, Brother West,

01:47:54.660 --> 01:47:58.100
Brother Milstead, Evangelist Furr, Brother Lugo.

01:47:58.100 --> 01:48:00.580
These are guys that have made Stepfast Baptist Church their home.

01:48:02.020 --> 01:48:06.340
In some cases, literally when it comes to the Milsteads, I mean, they were like 50 feet from the church at one point.

01:48:08.180 --> 01:48:09.620
It was like literally their home.

01:48:12.340 --> 01:48:13.780
They come three times a week.

01:48:13.780 --> 01:48:15.300
They read their Bible.

01:48:15.300 --> 01:48:16.900
They do memorize the Bible.

01:48:16.900 --> 01:48:18.340
They do sing the songs.

01:48:18.340 --> 01:48:19.780
They do apply the sermons.

01:48:19.780 --> 01:48:21.140
They have been baptized.

01:48:21.140 --> 01:48:22.900
They do go soul winning weekly.

01:48:22.900 --> 01:48:24.580
They are showing up at the events.

01:48:24.580 --> 01:48:26.100
They are going on the marathons.

01:48:26.100 --> 01:48:27.940
They are going on the missions trips.

01:48:27.940 --> 01:48:29.460
They are praying for you guys.

01:48:29.460 --> 01:48:31.540
They're constantly bearing one another's burdens.

01:48:32.500 --> 01:48:39.780
Their families and their wives are often helping other ladies and doing meals for them and doing free baby showers and all kinds of stuff.

01:48:40.500 --> 01:48:43.700
A lot of their kids and family members are involved in the music programs.

01:48:43.700 --> 01:48:46.020
They clean, they help, they volunteer.

01:48:46.020 --> 01:48:47.460
Yeah, you want to get plugged in?

01:48:47.460 --> 01:48:51.940
Look at those men and be like them and walk in noon as of life and get busy serving God.

01:48:53.060 --> 01:48:56.100
And let me challenge all of you to think for just one moment.

01:48:57.700 --> 01:49:01.940
What were you like before you ever came to Steadfast Baptist Church?

01:49:03.140 --> 01:49:04.580
What did you know?

01:49:04.580 --> 01:49:06.340
How much soul winning did you go?

01:49:06.340 --> 01:49:07.620
What kind of doctrines did you have?

01:49:08.180 --> 01:49:09.380
And then where are you at now?

01:49:12.740 --> 01:49:14.740
There's a reason why church is so important.

01:49:15.460 --> 01:49:19.860
And when you get busy serving God, you'll be different because you'll be walking in your new man.

01:49:21.140 --> 01:49:22.340
Go to 1st Corinthians 15.

01:49:22.340 --> 01:49:22.740
We'll finish.

01:49:22.740 --> 01:49:24.260
Go to 1st Corinthians chapter 15.

01:49:24.260 --> 01:49:30.260
Hey, I'm telling you, you know, sin is going to plague us until we die.

01:49:30.260 --> 01:49:31.780
Hey, no one's perfect.

01:49:31.780 --> 01:49:33.620
The apostle Paul said he's carnal.

01:49:33.620 --> 01:49:36.820
But I'm telling you, if you want to conquer sin, get busy in church.

01:49:37.380 --> 01:49:45.460
And you know what?

01:49:45.460 --> 01:49:48.260
You'll have more victory over sin than ever before.

01:49:49.540 --> 01:49:52.580
The people that don't get plugged in at church, they're plagued with sin.

01:49:53.540 --> 01:49:54.980
Why do we call them backsliding?

01:49:54.980 --> 01:49:59.380
It's three to thrive, two to survive, one to backslide.

01:49:59.620 --> 01:50:03.780
You often see the people fading in church, getting back into sin.

01:50:04.500 --> 01:50:09.860
The people getting more plugged in, they're usually getting better at conquering their sin.

01:50:09.860 --> 01:50:11.300
There's a direct connection.

01:50:11.780 --> 01:50:13.780
It's easier to go, don't sin.

01:50:14.820 --> 01:50:15.780
Be new.

01:50:16.420 --> 01:50:18.500
I'm trying to make it explicit here.

01:50:18.500 --> 01:50:20.020
You really want to do that?

01:50:20.020 --> 01:50:21.220
Get plugged in at church.

01:50:21.220 --> 01:50:22.020
That's how you do it.

01:50:22.740 --> 01:50:26.020
But Jesus Christ, according to Acts chapter number 20,

01:50:26.020 --> 01:50:35.060
We ought to take this institution seriously.

01:50:35.700 --> 01:50:38.820
He rose again from the dead so that we could walk in newness of life.

01:50:38.820 --> 01:50:42.900
And they put good works ahead of us so that we should walk in them.

01:50:43.860 --> 01:50:48.100
This church is accomplishing great works and we have even greater works ahead of us.

01:50:48.740 --> 01:50:53.060
And it's so important that we continue to walk in newness of life.

01:50:53.060 --> 01:50:54.980
I don't want to go to church less, but more.

01:50:54.980 --> 01:50:57.780
The Bible says, and so much more as you see the day approaching.

01:50:58.740 --> 01:51:00.180
We need to get plugged in more church.

01:51:00.180 --> 01:51:03.780
You know how many churches are saying, hey, we're not going to have an evening service now.

01:51:04.740 --> 01:51:08.260
Someone was telling me recently they had visited a church and they said,

01:51:08.260 --> 01:51:11.220
we're going to cancel the evening service so you can spend more time with your family.

01:51:13.540 --> 01:51:14.500
This is my family.

01:51:14.500 --> 01:51:15.380
Isn't that what Jesus said?

01:51:16.260 --> 01:51:19.860
I thought Jesus said, hey, this is my mother and this is my brethren.

01:51:21.540 --> 01:51:24.420
Yeah, I want to spend time with my family, my spiritual family.

01:51:24.420 --> 01:51:25.700
That's what I want to spend time with.

01:51:27.060 --> 01:51:30.980
And look, if my physical family is here, praise God.

01:51:30.980 --> 01:51:33.620
But let me tell you something, my spiritual family is more important.

01:51:36.660 --> 01:51:38.340
Why? Because I'm going to walk in newness of life.

01:51:39.060 --> 01:51:40.580
I want to be like Christ.

01:51:40.580 --> 01:51:41.860
He rose again from the dead.

01:51:41.860 --> 01:51:45.540
And look, my physical family is vanity.

01:51:47.140 --> 01:51:49.220
My physical family is vanity.

01:51:49.220 --> 01:51:50.500
It won't matter in heaven.

01:51:51.700 --> 01:51:53.540
Look, you won't even be married.

01:51:54.580 --> 01:51:57.220
The most important human relationship you ever have is marriage.

01:51:57.220 --> 01:51:58.900
And in heaven, you won't even be married.

01:52:00.420 --> 01:52:02.660
You know what? You need to invest in this.

01:52:02.660 --> 01:52:05.060
Jesus Christ said you didn't have to hate your own life also.

01:52:05.700 --> 01:52:09.460
Not only your wife, not only your children, not only your family that's close to you.

01:52:10.260 --> 01:52:12.740
Yay, even your own life if you want to be his disciple.

01:52:13.460 --> 01:52:14.980
You have to walk in newness of life.

01:52:16.180 --> 01:52:20.420
1 Corinthians 15 verse 33, be not deceived, evil communications, corrupt, good manners.

01:52:21.620 --> 01:52:22.980
Hey, a lot of you are doing good.

01:52:23.940 --> 01:52:25.540
But you listen to the wrong people.

01:52:26.980 --> 01:52:31.220
You let people tell you stupid things and you could get off the right path.

01:52:33.300 --> 01:52:34.660
You could get out of a good church.

01:52:35.220 --> 01:52:36.900
You can stop walking in the new man.

01:52:37.540 --> 01:52:38.580
Don't be deceived.

01:52:39.540 --> 01:52:42.420
Evil communications can corrupt the good manners that you have.

01:52:42.420 --> 01:52:44.580
It can corrupt the good path that you're on right now.

01:52:44.580 --> 01:52:47.380
Verse 34, awake to righteousness and sin not.

01:52:47.380 --> 01:52:48.500
For some have not the knowledge of God.

01:52:48.500 --> 01:52:52.900
I speak this year saying he's telling them, hey, we need to awake to righteousness.

01:52:52.900 --> 01:52:55.140
Like Christ awoke from the grave.

01:52:55.140 --> 01:52:56.980
We need to walk in the news of spirit.

01:52:56.980 --> 01:52:58.180
Stop living in the old man.

01:52:58.180 --> 01:52:59.380
Start living in the new man.

01:52:59.380 --> 01:53:00.900
Start accomplishing the good works he asks.

01:53:00.900 --> 01:53:02.660
Your life is hidden with Christ.

01:53:02.660 --> 01:53:03.780
Christ, which is our life.

01:53:04.420 --> 01:53:11.220
Verse 53, for this corruptible must put on incorruption and this mortal must put on immortality.

01:53:11.220 --> 01:53:15.460
So when this corruptible shall put on in a corruption and this mortal shall put on immortality,

01:53:15.460 --> 01:53:17.780
then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written.

01:53:17.780 --> 01:53:19.540
Death is swallowed up in victory.

01:53:19.540 --> 01:53:20.100
Oh, death.

01:53:20.100 --> 01:53:20.900
Where is thy sting?

01:53:20.900 --> 01:53:21.380
Oh, grave.

01:53:21.380 --> 01:53:22.340
Where is thy victory?

01:53:22.340 --> 01:53:25.220
The sting of death is sin and the strength of sin is the law.

01:53:25.220 --> 01:53:29.300
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

01:53:29.300 --> 01:53:36.420
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the

01:53:36.420 --> 01:53:42.020
Lord for as much as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

01:53:42.820 --> 01:53:45.620
This is the verse that our church is named after.

01:53:46.420 --> 01:53:48.340
This is the motto.

01:53:48.340 --> 01:53:50.020
This is the attitude.

01:53:50.020 --> 01:53:52.580
This is the mindset of our church.

01:53:52.580 --> 01:53:55.140
And what we are living for is to be steadfast.

01:53:56.180 --> 01:53:56.980
What does that mean?

01:53:57.540 --> 01:53:58.340
Unmovable.

01:53:58.340 --> 01:53:59.700
We're not going anywhere.

01:54:00.740 --> 01:54:04.820
And we're going to always abound in the work of the Lord because we know that's the only

01:54:04.820 --> 01:54:06.260
work that's not in vain.

01:54:07.220 --> 01:54:09.780
Everything else will see corruption.

01:54:09.780 --> 01:54:11.700
Everything else is vanity.

01:54:11.700 --> 01:54:13.300
Everything else is meaningless.

01:54:14.100 --> 01:54:15.620
Cling to the cross.

01:54:15.620 --> 01:54:17.780
Cling to the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:54:17.780 --> 01:54:19.140
Walk in the new man.

01:54:19.140 --> 01:54:21.220
That's the only thing that matters.

01:54:21.220 --> 01:54:23.140
Be the new version of yourself.

01:54:24.340 --> 01:54:25.140
Well, I don't know.

01:54:25.140 --> 01:54:26.580
I want to get that plugged in church.

01:54:26.580 --> 01:54:28.260
That's the only life that matters.

01:54:28.980 --> 01:54:30.900
That's the only investment that matters.

01:54:30.900 --> 01:54:32.500
That's the only works that matter.

01:54:33.140 --> 01:54:38.660
You will spend all of eternity living with the consequences of the good works that you

01:54:38.660 --> 01:54:40.260
did for Christ.

01:54:40.260 --> 01:54:41.700
Why would you not want to go all in?

01:54:43.540 --> 01:54:45.300
Go all in on Jesus Christ.

01:54:45.940 --> 01:54:50.980
We see him coming out of the grave victorious so that we could have victory too and no longer

01:54:50.980 --> 01:54:54.500
be the servants of sin but be servants of righteousness.

01:54:55.780 --> 01:55:02.020
Let us not have a name of steadfast but let us be steadfast.

01:55:02.580 --> 01:55:03.300
Let's close in prayer.

01:55:03.300 --> 01:55:07.220
Thank you heavenly father so much for the resurrection of your son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:55:07.220 --> 01:55:12.580
I pray that we would appreciate the work that Christ has done for us.

01:55:13.300 --> 01:55:17.780
That we would see the importance of how our life is hid in Christ.

01:55:17.780 --> 01:55:22.820
And we understand that we can't see these things but we walk by faith and not by sight.

01:55:23.380 --> 01:55:28.260
I pray that you could motivate us to walk in our spirit, to be more motivated, to be

01:55:28.260 --> 01:55:34.100
plugged in at church, to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, to get people saved, to do the works

01:55:34.100 --> 01:55:35.940
that you've ordained for us to walk in.

01:55:37.940 --> 01:55:41.140
And that we can be greatly rewarded for the faith that we had.

01:55:41.140 --> 01:55:42.260
In Jesus name we pray.

01:55:42.260 --> 01:55:45.540
Amen.

01:55:46.980 --> 01:55:51.540
All right in closing let's go to our last song, song number 33.

01:55:58.100 --> 01:56:00.100
Song number 33.

01:56:01.540 --> 01:56:05.140
Christ the Lord is risen today.

01:56:05.300 --> 01:56:07.300
Song number 33.

01:56:09.300 --> 01:56:11.300
Let's all sing that out together.

01:56:11.300 --> 01:56:13.300
Song number 33.

01:56:13.300 --> 01:56:19.300
Christ the Lord is risen today.

01:56:19.300 --> 01:56:23.300
Hallelujah.

01:56:23.300 --> 01:56:27.300
Sons of men and angels sing.

01:56:27.300 --> 01:56:31.300
Hallelujah.

01:56:31.460 --> 01:56:35.460
Hallelujah.

01:56:35.460 --> 01:56:39.460
Raise your joys and triumph high.

01:56:39.460 --> 01:56:43.460
Hallelujah.

01:56:43.460 --> 01:56:49.460
Singing heaven's earthly cry.

01:56:49.460 --> 01:56:53.460
Hallelujah.

01:56:53.460 --> 01:56:59.460
Lives again our glorious being.

01:56:59.620 --> 01:57:03.620
Hallelujah.

01:57:03.620 --> 01:57:09.620
Where oh death is now thy sing.

01:57:09.620 --> 01:57:13.620
Hallelujah.

01:57:13.620 --> 01:57:19.620
Dying once he all doth say.

01:57:19.620 --> 01:57:23.620
Hallelujah.

01:57:23.780 --> 01:57:29.780
Where thy victory oh great.

01:57:29.780 --> 01:57:33.780
Hallelujah.

01:57:33.780 --> 01:57:39.780
The treaty work is done.

01:57:39.780 --> 01:57:43.780
Hallelujah.

01:57:43.780 --> 01:57:49.780
Fought the fight the battle won.

01:57:49.940 --> 01:57:53.940
Hallelujah.

01:57:53.940 --> 01:57:59.940
Death and faith for victory rise.

01:57:59.940 --> 01:58:03.940
Hallelujah.

01:58:03.940 --> 01:58:09.940
Christ has opened paradise.

01:58:09.940 --> 01:58:13.940
Hallelujah.

01:58:14.100 --> 01:58:20.100
Soar we now where Christ has led.

01:58:20.100 --> 01:58:24.100
Hallelujah.

01:58:24.100 --> 01:58:30.100
Calling our exalted name.

01:58:30.100 --> 01:58:34.100
Hallelujah.

01:58:34.100 --> 01:58:40.100
Made like him like him we rise.

01:58:40.260 --> 01:58:44.260
Hallelujah.

01:58:44.260 --> 01:58:50.260
Hours across the great the skies.

01:58:50.260 --> 01:58:54.260
Hallelujah.

01:58:56.260 --> 01:58:58.260
We have a baptism this morning.

01:58:58.260 --> 01:59:00.260
Sister Holly is coming for baptism.

01:59:00.260 --> 01:59:02.260
Have you trusted Christ as your savior?

01:59:02.260 --> 01:59:06.260
Then I baptize you in the name of the father, son and holy ghost.

01:59:06.260 --> 01:59:08.260
Buried in the likeness of his death.

01:59:08.420 --> 01:59:12.420
Praise the walk in newness of life.

01:59:12.420 --> 01:59:16.420
Okay.

01:59:16.420 --> 01:59:18.420
Make sure to congratulate our baptism.

01:59:18.420 --> 01:59:20.420
God bless you're dismissed.

01:59:38.260 --> 01:59:40.420
