A wise son maketh a glad father, 30:01.600 --> 30:06.600 but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. Treasures of wickedness 30:06.600 --> 30:11.600 profit nothing, but righteousness delivereth from death. The Lord will not 30:11.600 --> 30:16.600 suffer the soul of the righteous to famish, but he casteth away the substance of the wicked. 30:16.600 --> 30:21.600 He becomeeth poor that dealeth with a slack hand, but the hand of the 30:21.600 --> 30:26.600 diligent maketh rich. He that gathereth in summer is a wise son, but he that 30:26.600 --> 30:31.600 sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame. 30:31.600 --> 30:36.600 Blessings are upon the head of the just, but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. 30:36.600 --> 30:41.600 The memory of the just is blessed, but the name of the wicked shall rot. 30:41.600 --> 30:46.600 The wise in heart will receive commandments, but a praying fool shall fall. 30:46.600 --> 30:51.600 He that walketh up rightly walketh surely, but he that perverteth his ways 30:51.600 --> 30:56.600 shall be known. The heart of the wicked is little worth. 31:56.600 --> 32:01.600 The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for want of wisdom. 32:01.600 --> 32:06.600 The blessing of the Lord it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. 32:06.600 --> 32:11.600 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief, but a man of understanding hath wisdom. 32:11.600 --> 32:16.600 The fear of the wicked it shall come upon him, but the desire of the 32:16.600 --> 32:21.600 righteous shall be granted. As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked 32:21.600 --> 32:26.600 no more, but the righteous is an everlasting foundation. 32:26.600 --> 32:31.600 As vinegar to the teeth and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him. 32:31.600 --> 32:36.600 The fear of the Lord prolongeth days, but the years of the wicked shall be shortened. 32:36.600 --> 32:41.600 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness, but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. 32:41.600 --> 32:46.600 The way of the Lord is strength through the upright, but destruction shall be 32:46.600 --> 32:51.600 to the workers of iniquity. The righteous shall never be removed, but the wicked shall not 32:51.600 --> 32:56.600 inhabit the earth. The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom, but the 32:56.600 --> 33:01.600 foward tongue shall be cut out. The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth 33:01.600 --> 33:06.600 of the wicked speaketh fowardness. Let us pray. Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you 33:06.600 --> 33:11.600 for this day. I thank you for the souls that were saved today. I thank you for the preaching of 33:11.600 --> 33:16.600 your word. I thank you for the sermon this morning. I ask you to please fill Pastor Shelley again with your 33:16.600 --> 33:21.600 Holy Spirit. The Bible says, The blessing of the 33:26.600 --> 33:31.600 Lord, it maketh rich and he addeth no sorrow with it. 33:31.600 --> 33:36.600 And what I wanted to preach this evening on is the idea of more, just having more. 33:36.600 --> 33:41.600 And the Bible definitely talks about this particular subject. 33:41.600 --> 33:46.600 Now, we're going to be spending a lot of time here in Proverbs 10, 11, 12, kind of this 33:46.600 --> 33:51.600 section. But the Bible clearly indicates that God can 33:51.600 --> 33:56.600 bless you and give you more and make you rich and add no sorrow with it, which 33:57.600 --> 34:02.600 I think is the best of both worlds. I think a lot of us would like to have more, but not necessarily 34:02.600 --> 34:07.600 more problems. You'd like to have more things, but you don't necessarily want all the drama 34:07.600 --> 34:12.600 and the problems that maybe come with that more. And the Bible is basically 34:12.600 --> 34:17.600 instructing that, yes, you can have more and not have more problems. And I think 34:17.600 --> 34:22.600 we need to understand that having more money doesn't necessarily make your life better 34:23.600 --> 34:28.600 because it could cause you to have more problems. But the blessing of the Lord, it can make you 34:28.600 --> 34:33.600 rich and not even add any of the sorrow with it, any of the problems with it. 34:33.600 --> 34:38.600 So we're going to have a balanced approach here. Keep your finger, because we're going to come back to Proverbs 10, but I want to go to 34:38.600 --> 34:43.600 Matthew chapter number six first. Go to Matthew chapter number six first. The Bible tells us that 34:43.600 --> 34:48.600 when it comes to this particular subject, that if you want to have more in life, 34:48.600 --> 34:53.600 you need to do something. You need to put God first as a priority in your life. 34:53.600 --> 34:58.600 And so there's basically three simple points that I have that I think is being drawn out in the text. 34:58.600 --> 35:03.600 But those that are going to have more in life, they have to, number one, 35:03.600 --> 35:08.600 make righteousness their goal. They have to make righteousness their goal. The Bible says in Matthew chapter number six, 35:08.600 --> 35:13.600 and we'll probably read a few verses, but I want to first look at this one. Look at verse 33. 35:13.600 --> 35:18.600 But seek ye first the kingdom of God. And notice this and his righteousness 35:18.600 --> 35:23.600 and all these things shall be added unto you. Now that's a pretty famous verse, pretty popular verse. 35:23.600 --> 35:28.600 What is the context in this particular verse? Well, it's the idea of like you can't really serve God 35:28.600 --> 35:33.600 and mammon. In verse 24, no man can serve two masters, for either you will hate the one and love the other, 35:33.600 --> 35:38.600 or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Of course, mammon 35:38.600 --> 35:43.600 is symbolically representing money or the things that money can purchase. 35:43.600 --> 35:48.600 It brings up things that can be bought in this particular passage. 35:48.600 --> 35:53.600 Raymond, clothes, food, where you're going to live. 35:53.600 --> 35:58.600 You know, it says in verse 31, take or says, therefore take no thought saying, where shall we eat or what shall we drink or 35:58.600 --> 36:03.600 where shall we be clothed? For after all these things the Gentiles seek for heavenly father to know that you have need 36:04.600 --> 36:09.600 of all these things. But seeking first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be 36:09.600 --> 36:14.600 added unto you. So how do you get these things? Well, biblically the Bible teaches is that you 36:14.600 --> 36:19.600 are righteous. You become righteous or you're seeking righteousness. 36:19.600 --> 36:24.600 Now what again, what is righteousness? It's not a meaningless platitude. It's doing right. 36:24.600 --> 36:29.600 It's following God's commandments. So if I'm making God the priority, if I'm making the kingdom of God 36:29.600 --> 36:34.600 priority and I'm making a righteous priority, what does that look like? It looks like somebody that's going to church 36:34.600 --> 36:39.600 regularly. Not just occasionally, they're just plugged in at church. You know, our church is three times a week, 36:39.600 --> 36:44.600 right? You're coming Sunday morning, you're coming Sunday night, you're going Wednesday night. That is someone that's 36:44.600 --> 36:49.600 seeking righteousness. It's someone that's reading their Bible actively. It's someone that's going out 36:49.600 --> 36:54.600 and winning souls to Christ. That's seeking the kingdom of God, going out there and trying to add 36:54.600 --> 36:59.600 people unto the kingdom of God. So, you know, if you want to have more in life, 36:59.600 --> 37:04.600 I believe God is saying, well, you got to put church first. You got to put reading the Bible and you got to 37:04.600 --> 37:09.600 put soul winning first. And that's got to be the priority in your life. It's got to be number one. When you make 37:09.600 --> 37:14.600 it number one, God can give you more and no sorrow with it. 37:14.600 --> 37:19.600 But those that are not seeking righteousness, the Bible is going to hammer that they're going to have all kinds of 37:19.600 --> 37:24.600 problems. Go back to Proverbs 10, go to Proverbs 10. 37:24.600 --> 37:29.600 And we're going to be skipping around because I'm trying to look at these verses from a thematic perspective. 37:29.600 --> 37:34.600 We're thinking about the concept of the Bible teaching that we should be righteous, okay? Proverbs 10, 37:34.600 --> 37:39.600 look at verse 3. The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish, but he 37:39.600 --> 37:44.600 casteth away the substance of the wicked. You know, having lots of money isn't going to help you if you're wicked. 37:44.600 --> 37:49.600 Because if you're wicked, you'll end up diminishing all of those funds and you won't 37:49.600 --> 37:54.600 have that money and you'll waste it all. And essentially it'll just be 37:54.600 --> 37:59.600 in vain that you even had the money in the first place. Being righteous is more important than having 37:59.600 --> 38:04.600 money. And so it's important to be righteous and not be wicked. There's a lot of 38:04.600 --> 38:09.600 people in this world that have received all kinds of funds and all kinds of money. So many 38:09.600 --> 38:14.600 athletes and celebrities and professionals, they'll get millions of dollars, 38:14.600 --> 38:19.600 even more than that in many cases, and then they'll become flat broke. 38:19.600 --> 38:24.600 They'll waste all their money, waste all their substance. Why? Because the Bible is basically saying here 38:24.600 --> 38:29.600 that this particular person that's wicked, he casteth away the substance of the wicked. 38:29.600 --> 38:34.600 They're going to basically give it all back. How many men have lost all of their money 38:34.600 --> 38:39.600 simply because they married the wrong woman and she just divorced them and just took tons of their wealth? 38:39.600 --> 38:44.600 Then they get married again, just take more of their wealth. Then they get addicted to drugs 38:44.600 --> 38:49.600 and alcohol, lose even more of their wealth. They get addicted to gambling. You know, people like 38:49.600 --> 38:54.600 even Michael Jordan had financial problems. And you can't even imagine how much money that guy's made, 38:54.600 --> 38:59.600 yet ran into financial problems because he got really into gambling. There's another guy, there's a golfer, 38:59.600 --> 39:04.600 Phil Mickelson got really into gambling, lost tons, millions and millions of dollars. 39:04.600 --> 39:09.600 Many professional gamblers, you know, these professional poker players. I remember reading about 39:09.600 --> 39:14.600 a guy who's a professional poker player, super good, made millions and millions of dollars. 39:14.600 --> 39:19.600 I mean, we're talking about like 10, 20 million dollars playing poker, but he was in debt 39:19.600 --> 39:24.600 because he would lose it all at the blackjack table. And it's like, bro, stop playing blackjack. 39:25.600 --> 39:30.600 You know, just stick with the poker. But here's the problem. When you're wicked and you're 39:30.600 --> 39:35.600 desiring to be rich, often you're just going to waste all your money on frivolous things, 39:35.600 --> 39:40.600 stupid things, silly things. I mean, the smart thing to do would be just only play poker if you're just good, 39:40.600 --> 39:45.600 you're just making tons of money. Again, I'm not advertising playing poker. I'm just saying, you know, if you were just smart, 39:45.600 --> 39:50.600 at least, if you were smart, you wouldn't sit here and then take that money and then just throw it all away on gambling 39:50.600 --> 39:55.600 and throw it all away on blackjack or something like that. But that's what these people are like. 39:55.600 --> 40:00.600 People that make all kinds of money playing football, playing basketball, they'll end up wasting all their money on drugs 40:00.600 --> 40:05.600 and alcohol and hookers and who knows what, you know, again, it's kind of like that 40:05.600 --> 40:10.600 prodigal son who wasted all his father's living on riotous living and on harlots. 40:10.600 --> 40:15.600 That's what the Bible says about him. And again, a lot of the wicked people will do this. 40:16.600 --> 40:21.600 You know, if you don't realize this by now, sin is expensive. 40:21.600 --> 40:26.600 For some reason, sin is just extremely expensive. You know, getting a bottle of water, it's like almost free. 40:28.600 --> 40:33.600 I mean, bottles of water is the cheapest thing you can possibly and it's the best thing you can possibly drink. 40:33.600 --> 40:38.600 But you're saying like, what's the best thing I can drink? It's water. It's like liquor and alcohol. 40:38.600 --> 40:43.600 These things cost dozens, if not hundreds of dollars in many cases, and it's horrific for you. 40:44.600 --> 40:49.600 It's poisonous. It's toxic. It's not good. It can give you throat cancer and every other cancer you could ever imagine. 40:51.600 --> 40:56.600 It's extremely bad for you. You know, if you get cigarettes, cigarettes have a luxury tax or an expensive tax just added on to it. 40:59.600 --> 41:04.600 You know, liquor has extra taxes put upon it. Lottery tickets have extra taxes put on it. 41:04.600 --> 41:09.600 You win the lottery and they tax you to death on your winnings for the lottery specifically. 41:09.600 --> 41:14.600 You know, just any kind of sin out there, it's expensive. Getting divorced, super expensive. 41:15.600 --> 41:20.600 Everyone loses except for the divorce attorney. Everyone's a loser in divorce. 41:20.600 --> 41:26.600 You know, sin will destroy you. It'll destroy your finances. It causes you all kinds of problems. 41:26.600 --> 41:32.600 You know, coming to church, being married, having kids, it has some expense to it. 41:32.600 --> 41:38.600 But I'm telling you, sin is way more expensive. Being wicked is way more expensive. 41:38.600 --> 41:45.600 Getting divorced, way more expensive. Having your children taken from you and child support and alimony. 41:46.600 --> 41:52.600 You know, how expensive is life right now, right? Just even bills, right? House, you know, utilities. 41:52.600 --> 41:55.600 But think about it. When you get divorced, now you have to pay it twice. 41:55.600 --> 42:02.600 Now you have to pay for two places to be and two water bills and two electric bills and two all kinds of different things. 42:02.600 --> 42:07.600 You don't get the joint cell phone account. Now you have to have two separate cell phone accounts. 42:07.600 --> 42:13.600 You just like, it just gets really expensive because sin is expensive and being wicked is expensive. 42:13.600 --> 42:16.600 And you'll lose all of your money and all of your income. 42:17.600 --> 42:22.600 These celebrities and professional athletes do the dumbest thing. 42:22.600 --> 42:29.600 They'll go to bars and they'll buy an entire bottle of liquor, which is just probably being overcharged for it. 42:29.600 --> 42:32.600 And then instead of even drinking it, they'll literally just pour it out. 42:32.600 --> 42:35.600 You know, it's like the it's like the drink offerings in the Bible, right? 42:35.600 --> 42:40.600 You have the strong drink that you just pour out, except for they're not doing it to the Lord. 42:40.600 --> 42:42.600 They're doing it to try and prove how rich they are. 42:42.600 --> 42:45.600 But what's so silly is they're going to become poor like that. 42:45.600 --> 42:51.600 I mean, you're not going to get rich by just throwing money away, by just wasting money. 42:51.600 --> 42:55.600 And again, this is just God causing them to be so stupid and foolish. 42:55.600 --> 42:57.600 They're going to just cast away all of their substance. 42:57.600 --> 43:02.600 And you see a lot of people easy come, easy go with money. Why? Because they're wicked. 43:02.600 --> 43:06.600 They're wicked person. They don't have good standards and good morals. 43:06.600 --> 43:09.600 They don't understand what the Bible says, and they're going to destroy themselves. 43:09.600 --> 43:11.600 Look at verse six. 43:11.600 --> 43:16.600 Blessings are upon the head of the just, but violence cover at the mouth of the wicked. 43:16.600 --> 43:18.600 So again, you're blessed for being just or righteous. 43:18.600 --> 43:25.600 Look at verse twenty one. The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for want of wisdom. 43:25.600 --> 43:28.600 So again, righteous people have the ability to help others. 43:28.600 --> 43:32.600 It says in verse twenty four, the fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him, 43:32.600 --> 43:34.600 but the desire of the righteous shall be granted. 43:34.600 --> 43:36.600 But the Bible is constantly contrasting. 43:36.600 --> 43:41.600 They say like, you want you want more? Hey, be righteous and you're going to get what you want. 43:41.600 --> 43:43.600 You're going to get what you desire. Did you notice what it said? 43:43.600 --> 43:50.600 Verse twenty four, but the desire of the righteous shall be granted. 43:50.600 --> 43:53.600 That sounds nice. I want my desires to be granted. 43:53.600 --> 43:55.600 How do you get them? Being righteous. 43:55.600 --> 43:57.600 Being righteous is how you get your desires granted. 43:57.600 --> 44:02.600 Verse twenty eight, the hope of the righteous shall be gladness, 44:02.600 --> 44:04.600 but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. 44:04.600 --> 44:08.600 Saying those that are wicked, all things they dream up and want, not going to happen. 44:08.600 --> 44:10.600 The righteous, they're going to get it. 44:10.600 --> 44:11.600 You know, what would be some examples of this? 44:11.600 --> 44:15.600 Well, you know, people that say like, hey, I want a nice wife and I want to have nice kids 44:15.600 --> 44:16.600 and I want to have a good family. 44:16.600 --> 44:21.600 It's like the wicked, they're going to totally trash that and ruin that and never going to happen. 44:21.600 --> 44:24.600 Whereas the righteous, in many cases, that will be granted under them. 44:24.600 --> 44:26.600 They will get the things that they wanted in life. 44:26.600 --> 44:30.600 Look at verse twenty nine, the way the Lord is strength to the upright, 44:30.600 --> 44:33.600 but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. 44:33.600 --> 44:38.600 The righteous shall never be removed, but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth. 44:38.600 --> 44:42.600 So again, being righteous is going to give you more. 44:42.600 --> 44:46.600 Being wicked is going to cause you to lose even that which you seem it to have. 44:46.600 --> 44:50.600 You know, and so being righteous is going to be a blessing unto you. 44:50.600 --> 44:53.600 And God can make you rich without adding sorrow to it. 44:53.600 --> 44:57.600 Getting riches by wickedness, they are going to add so much sorrow to your life, 44:57.600 --> 45:03.600 so much pain, so much anguish, people that are thieves, people that rob and steal. 45:03.600 --> 45:06.600 And that's how they acquire wealth or through wicked means. 45:06.600 --> 45:10.600 They're going to just cause themselves so many more problems than they are solutions. 45:10.600 --> 45:13.600 Look at chapter 11, verse five. 45:13.600 --> 45:15.600 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way, 45:15.600 --> 45:17.600 but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. 45:17.600 --> 45:20.600 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, 45:20.600 --> 45:22.600 but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness. 45:22.600 --> 45:25.600 When a wicked man dyeth, his expectation shall perish, 45:25.600 --> 45:29.600 and the hope of unjust men perish him. 45:29.600 --> 45:32.600 He's saying, look, being wicked, you're just going to die 45:32.600 --> 45:35.600 and not even accomplish what you wanted to accomplish. 45:35.600 --> 45:37.600 You know, we should be righteous, 45:37.600 --> 45:39.600 and that's how we're going to get things granted unto us. 45:39.600 --> 45:41.600 That's how we're going to have more. 45:41.600 --> 45:44.600 That's how all these things are going to be added unto us, not by wickedness. 45:44.600 --> 45:47.600 Verse 28, the Bible says, 45:47.600 --> 45:50.600 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall, 45:50.600 --> 45:54.600 but the righteous shall flourish as a branch. 45:54.600 --> 45:59.600 So again, if you're pursuing money, it's not going to work out for you. 45:59.600 --> 46:02.600 What you should do is just pursue righteousness. 46:02.600 --> 46:06.600 If you pursue righteousness, God will bless you with more. 46:06.600 --> 46:09.600 But if you seek the more, if you're seeking the riches, 46:09.600 --> 46:11.600 if you're seeking the money, if you're trusting in that, 46:11.600 --> 46:13.600 he'll just take that away from you, 46:13.600 --> 46:15.600 and you won't even get to enjoy it. 46:15.600 --> 46:20.600 It'll be taken away by alimony or divorce or drugs or alcohol or taxes 46:20.600 --> 46:24.600 or fraud or government intervention or whatever. 46:24.600 --> 46:28.600 There's so many wicked people that are just constantly losing all of their money, 46:28.600 --> 46:32.600 all of their wealth, all of the things they had. 46:32.600 --> 46:35.600 And eventually you die and you lose it all anyways, even if you didn't. 46:35.600 --> 46:38.600 So it's just like, there's no point in chasing after that. 46:38.600 --> 46:41.600 In chasing after money, you should just chase after being a wretch. 46:41.600 --> 46:44.600 And you say, like, I want more. Okay, be more righteous. 46:44.600 --> 46:47.600 Because, look, when you chase the money, even if you get it, 46:47.600 --> 46:50.600 you're just going to add so much problems under yourself 46:50.600 --> 46:52.600 that you won't even want the money anymore. 46:52.600 --> 46:54.600 It won't even benefit you. 46:54.600 --> 46:58.600 It'll be like Aiken going off and getting this Babylonian-ish garment 46:58.600 --> 47:01.600 and just a little bit of extra stuff. 47:01.600 --> 47:03.600 But you know what? It ended up destroying him. 47:03.600 --> 47:05.600 Whereas here, if you just sought righteousness, 47:05.600 --> 47:07.600 he would have inherited the power of righteousness. 47:08.600 --> 47:12.600 And so many more garments and riches that he would have known what to do with. 47:12.600 --> 47:16.600 Look, if you serve God, he can give you the things you want to need. 47:16.600 --> 47:20.600 But if you seek it yourself through wicked means, the wrong way, 47:20.600 --> 47:23.600 he'll take that away from you and destroy you. 47:23.600 --> 47:27.600 We don't want to seek money. We want to seek righteousness. 47:27.600 --> 47:31.600 And look, when you seek righteousness, God will bless you with more. 47:31.600 --> 47:34.600 It's kind of silly to say that. 47:34.600 --> 47:36.600 But it's like a cat or something. 47:36.600 --> 47:39.600 If you want its attention, you have to ignore it. 47:39.600 --> 47:43.600 I used to have a cat. His name was Mo. 47:43.600 --> 47:47.600 I gave him a Russian voice because he was very obstinate. 47:47.600 --> 47:49.600 He did not like anyone or anything. 47:49.600 --> 47:54.600 But the thing about Mo is sometimes the benefit of having a pet 47:54.600 --> 47:57.600 is sometimes you just want something to love, 47:57.600 --> 48:00.600 and you get a chance to. 01:20:00.600 --> 01:20:02.600 That's not something people will like. 01:20:02.600 --> 01:20:09.600 Mr. Scrooge, just sitting and swimming in gold coins and his little palace or whatever somewhere. 01:20:09.600 --> 01:20:12.600 You know, that's not the somebody that everybody likes. 01:20:12.600 --> 01:20:20.600 People like the guy that's taking his money and he's doing something positive with it, employing people, investing it in companies and businesses. 01:20:20.600 --> 01:20:22.600 That's a positive thing. 01:20:22.600 --> 01:20:25.600 Look at verse 7 of chapter 13. 01:20:32.600 --> 01:20:41.600 So, again, notice how the Bible uses these things of like a juxtaposition where you kind of like think one thing, but it's kind of the opposite, right? 01:20:41.600 --> 01:20:46.600 There's someone that's making himself rich, yet hath nothing, right? 01:20:46.600 --> 01:20:56.600 The guy that hoards all of his wealth and all of his money, but then he has no wife, no friends, no salvation, nothing to accomplish for God. 01:20:56.600 --> 01:20:59.600 It's like, oh yeah, you got all this money, but who cares about that? 01:20:59.600 --> 01:21:08.600 You kind of, you made yourself rich by burning everybody and ripping everybody off and just being a workaholic to extreme. 01:21:08.600 --> 01:21:10.600 And boy, it didn't really benefit you. 01:21:10.600 --> 01:21:13.600 Whereas some people, they've made themselves poor. 01:21:13.600 --> 01:21:17.600 They took all their wealth and they just gave it away and were generous with it. 01:21:17.600 --> 01:21:19.600 And then notice they have great riches. 01:21:19.600 --> 01:21:20.600 A lot of people love them. 01:21:20.600 --> 01:21:24.600 They have good friendships or perhaps they're rich towards God. 01:21:25.600 --> 01:21:28.600 So we've got to think about, hey, we want more. 01:21:28.600 --> 01:21:31.600 God is often going to bless those that are generous. 01:21:31.600 --> 01:21:38.600 Go to Luke chapter 6, go to Luke chapter number 6, and let's see another verse there that talks about this. 01:21:38.600 --> 01:21:42.600 If you're God, though, this principle makes sense. 01:21:42.600 --> 01:21:49.600 If you're God and you're looking down from heaven and you have all these people on the planet and you see someone being super generous, 01:21:49.600 --> 01:21:52.600 don't you think God's like, hey, I kind of want to help that person? 01:21:52.600 --> 01:21:55.600 Whereas you look at other people that are just being really stingy. 01:21:55.600 --> 01:21:57.600 You're like, I don't really want to bless this guy with any more. 01:21:57.600 --> 01:21:59.600 He's not even doing anything with it. 01:21:59.600 --> 01:22:01.600 He's not really benefiting anybody. 01:22:01.600 --> 01:22:05.600 So just it does kind of make sense if you think about it from God's perspective. 01:22:05.600 --> 01:22:12.600 Just from a carnal perspective, it makes no sense, though, because they're thinking like, how am I going to have more money by giving it away? 01:22:12.600 --> 01:22:17.600 Well, look, if God didn't exist and you were an atheist, you're right. 01:22:17.600 --> 01:22:19.600 It would never make sense. 01:22:19.600 --> 01:22:21.600 It would absolutely be the dumbest thing to do. 01:22:21.600 --> 01:22:24.600 If you wanted money, the worst thing to do is just give it away. 01:22:24.600 --> 01:22:25.600 But here's the thing. 01:22:25.600 --> 01:22:31.600 If you actually believe in God and recognize that all of our wealth and all of our money and all the good things are coming from God, 01:22:31.600 --> 01:22:37.600 then you would want to give stuff away because you realize it's a pipeline and God's going to keep furnishing your pipeline. 01:22:37.600 --> 01:22:43.600 And when you're a generous person, he just wants to keep pouring resources into you so you can keep blessing other people. 01:22:44.600 --> 01:22:51.600 When you're stingy and selfish and wicked, God wants to turn off your pipeline because guess what? 01:22:51.600 --> 01:22:53.600 You're not helping other people. 01:22:53.600 --> 01:22:55.600 You know, you're stealing and robbing from missionaries. 01:22:55.600 --> 01:22:57.600 God's going to turn your pipeline off. 01:22:57.600 --> 01:23:01.600 Hey, you're blessing people and you're really liberal and you're really generous. 01:23:01.600 --> 01:23:04.600 People, people, God's going to be like, hey, let's turn this pipeline on. 01:23:04.600 --> 01:23:05.600 You know what I mean? 01:23:05.600 --> 01:23:07.600 That's just how it works. 01:23:07.600 --> 01:23:09.600 Luke, chapter number six, look at verse 38. 01:23:09.600 --> 01:23:11.600 Give and it shall be given unto you. 01:23:11.600 --> 01:23:16.600 Good measure, pressed down and shaken together and running over shall men give into your bosom. 01:23:16.600 --> 01:23:21.600 For with the same measure that ye meet with all, it shall be measured to you again. 01:23:21.600 --> 01:23:23.600 I mean, do you not believe in God or what? 01:23:23.600 --> 01:23:26.600 If you want more, how do you get more? 01:23:26.600 --> 01:23:28.600 You give more away. 01:23:28.600 --> 01:23:32.600 And if you give more, then God says, all right, I'm going to somehow give to you. 01:23:32.600 --> 01:23:34.600 And it's just kind of this principle. 01:23:34.600 --> 01:23:38.600 And of course, the non-denominational church, the mega-media, the mega-media, the mega-media, 01:23:38.600 --> 01:23:40.600 the mega-church will teach these principles. 01:23:40.600 --> 01:23:43.600 You know, I grew up in non-denominational church my whole life. 01:23:43.600 --> 01:23:49.600 And boy, I heard about tithing and I heard about giving every service virtually. 01:23:49.600 --> 01:23:50.600 Okay. 01:23:50.600 --> 01:23:52.600 But that doesn't mean it's not true. 01:23:52.600 --> 01:23:53.600 Hey, you know what I was thinking about? 01:23:53.600 --> 01:23:55.600 I was thinking about the non-denominational church. 01:23:55.600 --> 01:23:56.600 You know what they're like? 01:23:56.600 --> 01:24:02.600 They're like if a guy went to the gym and the only thing he ever did was just work out his right arm. 01:24:03.600 --> 01:24:08.600 Like he just went to the gym and just all day just pumping iron with his right arm. 01:24:08.600 --> 01:24:10.600 And he's just doing every single exercise. 01:24:10.600 --> 01:24:12.600 I mean, just every day. 01:24:12.600 --> 01:24:13.600 And so he's just going to the gym. 01:24:13.600 --> 01:24:15.600 He's just got this arm like this. 01:24:15.600 --> 01:24:21.600 But then the rest of his body is completely like atrophied and just all weak and wimpy. 01:24:21.600 --> 01:24:24.600 And he's just like walking around in this giant arm. 01:24:24.600 --> 01:24:28.600 We don't want to get so weirded out by the non-denominational church though that we say, 01:24:28.600 --> 01:24:32.600 Let's never work out our right arm because I don't want to be the non-denominational church. 01:24:32.600 --> 01:24:33.600 No, no, no. 01:24:33.600 --> 01:24:35.600 There's nothing wrong with working out the right arm. 01:24:35.600 --> 01:24:37.600 But we want to also work out the left arm. 01:24:37.600 --> 01:24:39.600 And we also want to do leg day. 01:24:39.600 --> 01:24:41.600 And we also want to run some. 01:24:41.600 --> 01:24:43.600 You know, we want the whole body to be healthy. 01:24:43.600 --> 01:24:46.600 We don't want to just work out one piece of our body. 01:24:46.600 --> 01:24:54.600 And look, that's the problem with these non-denominational churches and these Bible churches is it's just a right arm workout only. 01:24:54.600 --> 01:24:56.600 In many cases, what they say is true. 01:24:56.600 --> 01:24:58.600 What they're saying is even right. 01:24:58.600 --> 01:25:00.600 And what they're saying is even biblical. 01:25:00.600 --> 01:25:01.600 But here's the problem. 01:25:01.600 --> 01:25:03.600 They're not working that left arm out at all. 01:25:03.600 --> 01:25:05.600 And they're not working out their legs at all. 01:25:05.600 --> 01:25:07.600 And so they look weird. 01:25:07.600 --> 01:25:08.600 They look weird. 01:25:08.600 --> 01:25:15.600 And once you've heard one message, you've heard all the messages because it's just the same thing over and over and over and over again. 01:25:15.600 --> 01:25:24.600 That's why you want to go to church that's got a full body program, a full workout program so that you don't look like a freak who just has one giant arm walking around. 01:25:24.600 --> 01:25:27.600 I am so strong on my right arm, you know, it's weird. 01:25:27.600 --> 01:25:28.600 It's awkward. 01:25:28.600 --> 01:25:30.600 It's not going to be balanced. 01:25:30.600 --> 01:25:32.600 It's just going to be confusing. 01:25:32.600 --> 01:25:34.600 And again, is there anything wrong with having a strong right arm? 01:25:34.600 --> 01:25:35.600 No. 01:25:35.600 --> 01:25:45.600 And look, I'll be honest, a lot of non-denominational Christians, especially in the elsewhere area that you meet, they tie like champions. 01:25:45.600 --> 01:25:48.600 And they're some of the most generous people that you'll ever meet. 01:25:48.600 --> 01:25:49.600 They really are. 01:25:49.600 --> 01:25:52.600 They're really nice and they're very generous and they're tidy. 01:25:52.600 --> 01:25:54.600 But boy, they're screwed up on Israel. 01:25:54.600 --> 01:25:55.600 They're giving all their money to Israel. 01:25:57.600 --> 01:26:01.600 But boy, they're screwed up on, you know, which Bible to use. 01:26:01.600 --> 01:26:03.600 And they're screwed up and they're not really going soul winning. 01:26:03.600 --> 01:26:06.600 And they've got a lot of problems. 01:26:06.600 --> 01:26:09.600 OK, but you have to give it to them. 01:26:09.600 --> 01:26:10.600 A lot of them have that area. 01:26:10.600 --> 01:26:11.600 Right. 01:26:11.600 --> 01:26:12.600 And you know what? 01:26:12.600 --> 01:26:15.600 In some cases, they're still even blessing some good people and still helping some. 01:26:15.600 --> 01:26:18.600 And it seems like these principles work. 01:26:18.600 --> 01:26:24.600 I know a lot of non-denominational, you know, just fun center type Christian people, and they have more. 01:26:24.600 --> 01:26:26.600 And they are seeming to do well. 01:26:26.600 --> 01:26:27.600 But you know what? 01:26:27.600 --> 01:26:29.600 They're pretty they're they're trying to serve God. 01:26:29.600 --> 01:26:34.600 They're trying to follow those commandments and they're super hardworking and they're really generous. 01:26:34.600 --> 01:26:39.600 And look, these principles work whether you like them or not or whether you even believe them or not. 01:26:39.600 --> 01:26:43.600 I mean, even if you didn't believe them, it still works. 01:26:43.600 --> 01:26:49.600 I mean, if you're following God's commandments and if you're hardworking and you're generous, this program works. 01:26:49.600 --> 01:26:51.600 The Proverbs work. 01:26:51.600 --> 01:26:53.600 No faith required. 01:26:53.600 --> 01:26:55.600 Now, here's the thing. 01:26:55.600 --> 01:26:57.600 Most people need faith to even do them. 01:26:57.600 --> 01:27:00.600 OK, but at the end of the day, these principles work. 01:27:00.600 --> 01:27:04.600 You say, like, oh, why are Asians living to be so much older than other communities? 01:27:04.600 --> 01:27:05.600 Well, let me tell you something. 01:27:05.600 --> 01:27:08.600 They follow a lot of God's commandments better than other communities. 01:27:08.600 --> 01:27:10.600 Talk about honor, they follow their mother. 01:27:10.600 --> 01:27:12.600 You know that that principle just works. 01:27:12.600 --> 01:27:15.600 If you just honor your father and mother, you're going to live longer. 01:27:15.600 --> 01:27:21.600 And then it's like, oh, I see this one community is they don't honor their father and mother and they're dying young and they're having more problems. 01:27:21.600 --> 01:27:22.600 And here's another. 01:27:22.600 --> 01:27:23.600 And both communities are unsaved. 01:27:23.600 --> 01:27:25.600 It's like, what's the difference? 01:27:25.600 --> 01:27:29.600 Look, the Proverbs work whether you're saved or not. 01:27:29.600 --> 01:27:32.600 Now, obviously, when you're saved, it's like a super booster. 01:27:32.600 --> 01:27:35.600 OK, it's super powered. 01:27:35.600 --> 01:27:39.600 And of course, it takes a lot of people faith to actually employ them in your life. 01:27:39.600 --> 01:27:41.600 But I'm telling you, the Proverbs work period. 01:27:41.600 --> 01:27:43.600 And what is God promising? 01:27:43.600 --> 01:27:44.600 He is promising here. 01:27:44.600 --> 01:27:47.600 Hey, you give and it shall be given unto you. 01:27:47.600 --> 01:27:56.600 Good measure, pressed down and shaken together and running over shall mean give in your bosom for the same measure that you meet with all shall be measured you again. 01:27:56.600 --> 01:27:58.600 Hey, you give and God will give back to you. 01:27:58.600 --> 01:28:00.600 Go to Acts, chapter number 20, good action. 01:28:00.600 --> 01:28:01.600 20. 01:28:01.600 --> 01:28:06.600 There's tons of people that have just been generous or done good in the past, whether they were saved or not. 01:28:06.600 --> 01:28:09.600 And God just blessed them anyways, because it's just how God works. 01:28:09.600 --> 01:28:10.600 This is God's economy. 01:28:10.600 --> 01:28:12.600 God's economy is you're a generous person. 01:28:12.600 --> 01:28:13.600 God will be generous to you. 01:28:13.600 --> 01:28:15.600 You're stingy person. 01:28:15.600 --> 01:28:18.600 You're a Jew and people treat you like a Jew. 01:28:18.600 --> 01:28:21.600 Act, chapter 20, look at verse 32. 01:28:21.600 --> 01:28:29.600 And now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all of them which are sanctified. 01:28:29.600 --> 01:28:31.600 I've coveted no man's silver or gold or apparel. 01:28:31.600 --> 01:28:37.600 Yea, yourselves know that these hands of ministering to my necessities into them that were with me. 01:28:37.600 --> 01:28:50.600 I have showed you all things how that so laboring you ought to support the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, it is more blessed to give than to receive. 01:28:50.600 --> 01:28:52.600 It's more blessed to give than to receive. 01:28:52.600 --> 01:28:59.600 And again, the apostle always seems to have to caveat because he wants to make it clear like I'm not asking you to give money to the ministry for me. 01:28:59.600 --> 01:29:06.600 I'm asking you to give money to the ministry to support the weak and to help those and to further the causes of Christ. 01:29:06.600 --> 01:29:12.600 And look, the more you the more you give, the more blessed you're going to be and the blessing of the Lord. 01:29:12.600 --> 01:29:15.600 It make it rich and add those sorrow to it. 01:29:15.600 --> 01:29:27.600 Now, once you go to Luke 15, I'm just going to go to two more places, but I wanted to pivot the context here because I think some people might walk away thinking in the sermon that this is geared towards men only or something. 01:29:27.600 --> 01:29:34.600 Obviously, I think a lot of men, you know, this sermon is pretty applicable in the sense that you're you're the provider, right? 01:29:34.600 --> 01:29:39.600 You kind of have this pressure and this God given responsibility and duty to be a provider in the home. 01:29:39.600 --> 01:29:41.600 And a lot of these things are directly related. 01:29:41.600 --> 01:29:46.600 But look, as a woman, you can also have more by applying these same principles. 01:29:46.600 --> 01:29:49.600 OK, you need to apply the exact same principles here. 01:29:49.600 --> 01:29:51.600 You need to also seek righteousness. 01:29:52.600 --> 01:29:55.600 Women that are wicked are going to cost their family all kinds of money. 01:29:55.600 --> 01:30:07.600 Women that are not trying to do right are going to cost their family all kinds of bills that they did not have to garner through being foolish, through being silly, through being sinful, from doing dumb things. 01:30:07.600 --> 01:30:11.600 There's all kinds of dumb things that women will do and they'll hurt their household. 01:30:11.600 --> 01:30:13.600 They'll hurt their finances. 01:30:13.600 --> 01:30:15.600 They'll cost them all kinds of money. 01:30:15.600 --> 01:30:18.600 Bills, just things breaking, being destroyed. 01:30:18.600 --> 01:30:23.600 Just signing up for things, just the endless shopping habits and activities that people have. 01:30:23.600 --> 01:30:33.600 I mean, there's just so much ways for money to be wasted through a wicked woman, let alone divorce, let alone all kinds of other extreme scenarios. 01:30:33.600 --> 01:30:37.600 There's many even little things that cost all kinds of money. 01:30:37.600 --> 01:30:38.600 And, you know, you want more. 01:30:38.600 --> 01:30:42.600 You know, be righteous, serve God, put church first. 01:30:42.600 --> 01:30:44.600 You know, those things that you want to do. 01:30:44.600 --> 01:30:47.600 How much money are you wasting soul winning? 01:30:47.600 --> 01:30:51.600 You're not really having to waste a lot of money going soul winning and reading your Bible and going to church. 01:30:51.600 --> 01:30:52.600 Okay. 01:30:52.600 --> 01:30:55.600 Look at Luke chapter 15 verse 8. 01:30:55.600 --> 01:31:02.600 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, does not light a candle and sweep the house and seek diligently till she find it. 01:31:02.600 --> 01:31:07.600 You know, some women, they're afraid of losing money and they want to be rich. 01:31:07.600 --> 01:31:08.600 They want to be rich. 01:31:08.600 --> 01:31:09.600 They want to be rich. 01:31:09.600 --> 01:31:10.600 They want to be rich. 01:31:10.600 --> 01:31:16.600 You know, some women, they're afraid of losing money and they would work really hard to find it. 01:31:16.600 --> 01:31:20.600 They're not willing to just let money be wasted and just lost. 01:31:20.600 --> 01:31:22.600 They're going to seek it. 01:31:22.600 --> 01:31:23.600 Go to Proverbs 31. 01:31:23.600 --> 01:31:24.600 We're going to finish in that chapter. 01:31:24.600 --> 01:31:26.600 Go to Proverbs chapter 31. 01:31:26.600 --> 01:31:31.600 You know, a good woman is going to not waste her husband's money. 01:31:31.600 --> 01:31:36.600 She's going to she's going to be righteous and she's going to be diligent. 01:31:36.600 --> 01:31:38.600 Hey, I did lose some money. 01:31:38.600 --> 01:31:41.600 Then I'm going to diligently look until I find it. 01:31:41.600 --> 01:31:47.600 And I'm not going to be lazy and just allow money to be wasted on on things that shouldn't be wasted on. 01:31:47.600 --> 01:31:49.600 And of course, all of these principles are going to apply here. 01:31:49.600 --> 01:31:53.600 Proverbs 31, look at verse number 10. 01:31:53.600 --> 01:31:57.600 Who can find a virtuous woman for her price is far above rubies. 01:31:57.600 --> 01:32:04.600 Notice the Bible saying, hey, you know, it's the most important thing in a woman being righteous, being virtuous, being godly. 01:32:04.600 --> 01:32:14.600 So point one, women, you should seek to be righteous and godly and virtuous, and God will give you more of everything that you want, more of all the stuff that you want and that you need. 01:32:14.600 --> 01:32:17.600 You know, you can constantly put this pressure on your husband to get more. 01:32:17.600 --> 01:32:20.600 Why don't you yourself work on just being righteous? 01:32:20.600 --> 01:32:21.600 That'll help your family. 01:32:21.600 --> 01:32:23.600 Number two, you being diligent. 01:32:23.600 --> 01:32:25.600 Look what the Bible says. 01:32:25.600 --> 01:32:30.600 The heart of her husband does safely trust in her so that he shall have no need of spoil. 01:32:30.600 --> 01:32:32.600 She will do him good and not evil the days of her life. 01:32:32.600 --> 01:32:35.600 She will seek a wool and flax and work willingly with her hands. 01:32:35.600 --> 01:32:40.600 You know, women that are willing to work will save their family lots of money. 01:32:40.600 --> 01:32:46.600 If you really think about it, most money spent is you being lazy. 01:32:46.600 --> 01:32:55.600 Most money being spent services and all kinds of things exist in this world to just you not have to do the work. 01:32:55.600 --> 01:32:57.600 You don't have to do the work anymore. 01:32:57.600 --> 01:32:58.600 Someone else can do the work. 01:32:58.600 --> 01:32:59.600 But you know what? 01:32:59.600 --> 01:33:01.600 There's always a price increase. 01:33:01.600 --> 01:33:09.600 And look, every single thing that a woman can do, there is a service, there is a maid, there is someone that is willing to do it for a price. 01:33:09.600 --> 01:33:12.600 Cleaning the house, you can just pay someone to clean your house. 01:33:12.600 --> 01:33:14.600 You can just pay someone to clean your clothes. 01:33:14.600 --> 01:33:16.600 You can just pay someone to make all your meals. 01:33:16.600 --> 01:33:19.600 You can just pay someone to watch your kids. 01:33:19.600 --> 01:33:21.600 You can pay someone to school your kids. 01:33:21.600 --> 01:33:24.600 You can pay someone to do literally anything and everything. 01:33:24.600 --> 01:33:27.600 And what is going to cause you the price? 01:33:27.600 --> 01:33:29.600 You not willing to do the work. 01:33:29.600 --> 01:33:39.600 Now look, we live a busy world and a busy life and people prioritize which activities they want to do and which ones they're willing to pay for. 01:33:39.600 --> 01:33:47.600 But at the end of the day, if you just outsource everything, well, that's going to cost your family a lot more money than if you're willing to work really hard. 01:33:47.600 --> 01:33:52.600 Women that are willing to work really hard, they're going to save their family a lot of money. 01:33:52.600 --> 01:33:57.600 Women that are not willing to work at all, they're going to cost their family tons and tons of money. 01:33:58.600 --> 01:34:00.600 And this could be in lots of areas. 01:34:00.600 --> 01:34:04.600 One area in particular that's probably one of the worst is food specifically. 01:34:04.600 --> 01:34:10.600 But going out to eat is one of the most expensive things you could possibly do and it costs a lot of money. 01:34:10.600 --> 01:34:18.600 And I kid you not, there's many people, even in our circles, that I've known, the woman doesn't even cook. 01:34:18.600 --> 01:34:24.600 Like, I remember we were like having fellowships and they were like, none of us cook, we're just going to all bring some store-bought thing or whatever. 01:34:24.600 --> 01:34:26.600 And it's just like, what? 01:34:26.600 --> 01:34:30.600 Like, I understand, like, look, it's a treat and it's nice to go out to eat every once in a while. 01:34:30.600 --> 01:34:32.600 I'm not against you. I'm not saying don't ever go out to eat. 01:34:32.600 --> 01:34:43.600 But I'm saying this, if you're not willing to cook at all, if every meal is just bought, you're throwing away so much money and just the food preparation costs. 01:34:43.600 --> 01:34:47.600 I mean, even just McDonald's and what are these? 01:34:47.600 --> 01:34:50.600 These places are so expensive now. 01:34:50.600 --> 01:34:52.600 And you know why I know this? 01:34:52.600 --> 01:34:57.600 Because when you start having six, seven kids, boy, the multiplier is exponential. 01:34:57.600 --> 01:35:00.600 OK. And you're just like, even the kids meals. 01:35:00.600 --> 01:35:02.600 Oh, it's only seven dollars. Yeah. 01:35:02.600 --> 01:35:06.600 Times seven. That's 50 bucks just for the kids. 01:35:06.600 --> 01:35:12.600 Right. Then plus a mom and dad plus tax, plus possible tent, plus all this stuff. 01:35:12.600 --> 01:35:18.600 I mean, boy, to get away from a restaurant for less than 70 bucks these days is a miracle sometimes. 01:35:18.600 --> 01:35:21.600 OK. Because let's just be honest, it's kind of cheaper. 01:37:23.600 --> 01:37:29.600 If I just drive to the store and buy it, it could be more expensive than just having it literally delivered to me. 01:37:29.600 --> 01:37:33.600 And so you got to kind of think about that. God doesn't want to give you more when you're being selfish. 01:38:13.600 --> 01:38:22.600 God wants to give more to those that are righteous, doing things that are good, that are working really hard, and they're being really generous. 01:38:22.600 --> 01:38:26.600 And you know, the lady, I believe ladies, you know, if you really want to help your household, 01:38:26.600 --> 01:38:33.600 instead of being so concerned with like putting pressure, just make more money or something, or I wish you were rich like Elon or something, 01:38:33.600 --> 01:38:45.600 you know, why don't you just work on being more righteous, working harder, thinking about cost savings that you could employ and your family, ways to help, and being generous. 01:38:45.600 --> 01:38:49.600 Verse 27, she looked at the well of the ways of her household and eat not the bread of idols. 01:38:49.600 --> 01:38:57.600 You know, in some ways, your job is just to make it easier for your husband to just focus on his job. 01:38:57.600 --> 01:39:01.600 And in like, there's no new thing under the sun. 01:39:01.600 --> 01:39:08.600 One of the biggest problems in the workplace for a lot of men is this, their wife just making their life miserable. 01:39:08.600 --> 01:39:20.600 Like, this is a common thing where there's some men that just their wife is just harassing them at work, calling them all day, just needing them all the time, being extremely needy. 01:39:20.600 --> 01:39:29.600 How is the guy going to focus on making money when he just focused on you all day at work and your needs and what you've got going on? 01:39:29.600 --> 01:39:44.600 I remember one of my bosses said, he was saying when he worked, this is a long time ago, okay, he was like, he said, if you got a call at work from your wife, that was a non-emergency call, they would fire you immediately. 01:39:44.600 --> 01:39:47.600 He's saying because there's just waste so much company time. 01:39:47.600 --> 01:39:51.600 He just like the boss, the bosses did not put up with it for a second. 01:39:51.600 --> 01:39:56.600 They just said, hey, if your wife is calling you in this non-emergency, then you would just be fired. 01:39:56.600 --> 01:40:01.600 So it's like, hey, your wife is calling you and the kid didn't actually chop off his hand. 01:40:01.600 --> 01:40:05.600 He coughed a couple of times and WebMD says he has pneumonia. 01:40:05.600 --> 01:40:07.600 It's just like, does he though?
