I wanted to preach a sermon this evening on the false accusation that's often labeled towards soul winners of quick prayerism, quick prayerism. 31:53.000 --> 31:59.000 And there's an entire documentary that was released not that long ago called, Quote Disclosure. 31:59.000 --> 32:04.000 It's really good naming by a guy named Spencer Smith. 32:04.000 --> 32:14.000 He often goes online by the name of missionary Spencer Smith featured in the film is another pastor, Pastor Stacy Shifflett of a church up in the Northeast. 32:14.000 --> 32:16.000 And there's some other people in this particular film. 32:16.000 --> 32:29.000 But this particular film and these these men are very against, you know, big pushes for soul winning what they call easy believe is what they call quick prayerism. 32:29.000 --> 32:37.000 They they use a lot of different derogatory terms to kind of essentially attack soul winning. 32:37.000 --> 32:39.000 And of course, our church is a major soul winning church. 32:39.000 --> 32:48.000 We really emphasize these things and we've tried to take a lot of the good from pastors like Pastor Jack Hiles and some other men in the past. 32:48.000 --> 32:53.000 The methods that they've done, we've tried to incorporate those and really push for evangelism. 32:53.000 --> 33:02.000 And this film is designed to trash Pastor Jack Hiles to trash soul winning, to trash going out and doing lots of evangelism. 33:02.000 --> 33:14.000 And really with this accusation of quote quick prayerism, which again is just this idea or suggestion that when we go out and we do our soul winning, we pray with people, we're just trying to quickly get them to pray and walk away. 33:14.000 --> 33:16.000 And no one's actually getting saved. 33:16.000 --> 33:19.000 That's basically the accusation that is being labeled towards us. 33:19.000 --> 33:23.000 But you kind of have to ask the question, what would be the alternative? 33:23.000 --> 33:26.000 Long prayerism. 33:26.000 --> 33:30.000 Like, do we have to pray a really long prayer with someone to get saved? 33:30.000 --> 33:37.000 And if it's not the length of the prayer that is important, then is it the long the length of the presentation? 33:37.000 --> 33:41.000 How long do I have to present the gospel to someone before they get saved? 33:41.000 --> 33:48.000 Well, why don't we just take a quick journey through the Book of Acts and just see how the Bible records people getting saved. 33:48.000 --> 33:51.000 Now, I want to look at a lot of verses here, but we're in chapter two. 33:51.000 --> 33:53.000 Look at verse forty one. 33:53.000 --> 34:01.000 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized and the same day they were added to them about three thousand souls. 34:01.000 --> 34:08.000 So according to the Bible, a bunch of people that didn't know the gospel heard the gospel and baptized in the same day. 34:08.000 --> 34:12.000 They didn't even need multiple days in the same day they heard the gospel. 34:12.000 --> 34:14.000 They got saved and baptized. 34:14.000 --> 34:16.000 That tells me that it's not a very long process. 34:16.000 --> 34:20.000 It's definitely not more than a day that's necessary. 34:20.000 --> 34:24.000 It can't take more than a day if you have three thousand people showing up. 34:24.000 --> 34:29.000 And again, the number, max number of preachers was one hundred and twenty. 34:29.000 --> 34:31.000 That's assuming everybody spoke. 34:31.000 --> 34:33.000 That's assuming everybody's giving the gospel. 34:33.000 --> 34:36.000 You take three thousand divided by one hundred and twenty. 34:36.000 --> 34:45.000 You'll start to realize like these people are having to get on average, you know, probably a dozen to twenty people each if every single person was evangelizing. 34:45.000 --> 34:51.000 Now, again, that might seem kind of extraordinary or maybe even impossible. 34:51.000 --> 35:02.000 But if you've gone to extremely receptive areas where people are seeking the Lord, you know, it's possible for someone to get twelve, fifteen, maybe even twenty people saved in one day. 35:02.000 --> 35:05.000 You know, you preach to a few groups, you preach to different people. 35:05.000 --> 35:08.000 And again, this is a group of people that are seeking God. 35:08.000 --> 35:12.000 They've traveled across the country to hear about the word of God. 35:12.000 --> 35:20.000 A major event has happened and these people are filled with the Holy Spirit, the best that anybody's ever been filled. 35:20.000 --> 35:31.000 And so, yeah, it's not unreasonable to think that in that environment, in that situation, in that pretext that they could get, you know, a dozen or a couple dozen people saved each. 35:31.000 --> 35:32.000 They're all going out. 35:32.000 --> 35:33.000 They're evangelizing. 35:33.000 --> 35:34.000 They're preaching. 35:34.000 --> 35:36.000 But what would that take? 35:37.000 --> 35:43.000 You know, fifteen, twenty minutes to each person or a few groups here so that they could get all those people saved. 35:43.000 --> 35:49.000 I mean, think about getting three thousand people baptized practically. 35:49.000 --> 35:50.000 I mean, just think about it. 35:50.000 --> 35:56.000 What if it took one minute to baptize one person, multiply that by three thousand? 35:56.000 --> 35:59.000 They probably had like a lot of people baptizing. 35:59.000 --> 36:01.000 They probably had a lot of them in the water. 36:01.000 --> 36:02.000 And there's these huge lines. 36:02.000 --> 36:07.000 I mean, it probably realistically took hours and hours and hours to get these people baptized. 36:07.000 --> 36:10.000 So we only have 12 hours in the day. 36:10.000 --> 36:15.000 They obviously didn't just literally pop out of bed and start preaching the gospel. 36:15.000 --> 36:20.000 So there's a few hours before they even like were able to find these people. 36:20.000 --> 36:22.000 Then there's a few hours for the baptism. 36:22.000 --> 36:29.000 That means the amount of time for them to preach the gospel and get people saved couldn't have been much more than a few hours, folks. 36:29.000 --> 36:39.000 And so if you have 120 people and you say get three thousand people saved in just a few hours, that means their gospel presentation must not have been very long. 36:39.000 --> 36:40.000 Huh? 36:40.000 --> 36:45.000 I mean, I'm just trying to I'm just trying to read the story and put some practicalities to it. 36:45.000 --> 36:50.000 It doesn't sound like it takes hours and hours and ages and ages and days and whatever to get someone saved. 36:50.000 --> 36:55.000 Seems like if you have an effective soul winner filled with the Holy Spirit, he can preach and get a lot of people saved. 36:56.000 --> 36:59.000 Plus, we don't even know about the bill that didn't get saved. 36:59.000 --> 37:04.000 I mean, how many people did they preach to that didn't receive it or decided not to get saved that day? 37:04.000 --> 37:08.000 It's just kind of according to positive side of the equation here. 37:08.000 --> 37:11.000 But I'm sure there was somebody there that didn't receive it. 37:11.000 --> 37:16.000 I'm sure there was sometimes when they preached and it didn't work or it wasn't always successful. 37:16.000 --> 37:21.000 You know, when we go to the Bahamas, we go to Barbados, it's not like everybody gets saved. 37:21.000 --> 37:24.000 There's going to be a lot of times when people don't get saved. 37:24.000 --> 37:29.000 There's going to be a lot of times when people don't get it, when people are not ready, when you know, you're just planting a seed. 37:29.000 --> 37:35.000 But obviously, when you go into a great harvest field, a lot of times you have a good percentage of a lot of people getting saved. 37:35.000 --> 37:41.000 And we really like it. You really enjoy it when you get to go into an area and you preach to a lot of people and they can get saved. 37:41.000 --> 37:46.000 You know, biblically speaking, this matches what we see in our reality. 37:47.000 --> 37:56.000 When we go to very receptive areas where people are interested in the Word of God and you have really spirit filled, dedicated disciples, they're preaching the gospel effectively. 37:56.000 --> 38:03.000 They can get 10, 20, even maybe 25 people saved in one day if they put in a lot of effort and energy. 38:03.000 --> 38:14.000 I would even argue that almost nobody, even in our groups, has been able to get 25 or 30 people saved in just two hours or three hours. 38:14.000 --> 38:19.000 I mean, that's almost unheard of. Sometimes people get that in a whole day, like six to eight hours of preaching. 38:19.000 --> 38:30.000 But I'm just saying, like, if you look at this practically speaking, this is probably one of the most receptive things that's ever happened in the in recorded history, let alone the Bible itself. 38:30.000 --> 38:39.000 Now, it says in verse 47, praising God and having favor with all the people and the Lord added to the church daily such as should be safe. 38:39.000 --> 38:44.000 So notice again, it's not a one time event. Every day, people are just getting saved every day. 38:44.000 --> 38:49.000 So it's a daily thing. People don't take it doesn't take weeks to get someone saved. 38:49.000 --> 38:54.000 It takes 20, 30 minutes. It takes 15 minutes. It depends on how receptive they are. 38:54.000 --> 39:01.000 But I'm just saying, like, it doesn't take long for someone to get saved if they want to get saved, if they're interested in hearing the gospel and getting saved. 39:01.000 --> 39:13.000 And praise God for that because the sheer volume of people in this world dictates a quick salvation option because if it did take just, oh, let's say two years to get someone saved. 39:13.000 --> 39:17.000 Well, how's that going to practically work when you only have one hundred and twenty people? 39:17.000 --> 39:22.000 If you just maximize all the time, they're going to virtually give no one the gospel or give no one a chance to get saved. 39:22.000 --> 39:25.000 Whereas if it takes 10, 15 minutes, it takes 20 minutes. 39:26.000 --> 39:30.000 Then, yeah, practically, if you put in a lot of effort, you do this for years and years and years. 39:30.000 --> 39:37.000 You can see thousands of people hear the gospel over that period of time and praise God for that, that one person have that big of an impact. 39:37.000 --> 39:43.000 I mean, how are you supposed to get 30, 60, some 100 if it takes so long to get people saved? 39:43.000 --> 39:48.000 It's obvious in the text that people are getting saved in a quick period of time. 39:49.000 --> 39:57.000 Look at chapter four, verse four, chapter four, verse four says, how be it of them which heard the word, believe the number of the men was about five thousand. 39:57.000 --> 39:59.000 So they had three thousand saved in one section. 39:59.000 --> 40:02.000 Here's another time where it's just like they're going out preaching. 40:02.000 --> 40:05.000 Five thousand saved. That's some big numbers. 40:05.000 --> 40:08.000 That's huge numbers. That's awesome. 40:08.000 --> 40:10.000 And it kind of matches with some of the things that we see. 40:10.000 --> 40:12.000 We have huge groups go to the Philippines. 40:12.000 --> 40:15.000 They get a couple thousand people saved. 40:15.000 --> 40:17.000 And is that unreasonable? 40:17.000 --> 40:20.000 Realistic is that on biblical notes, exactly what the Bible's teaching. 40:20.000 --> 40:22.000 The Bible's showing three thousand saved one day. 40:22.000 --> 40:25.000 Then it's showing another group five thousand saved. 40:25.000 --> 40:29.000 Go to chapter eight. Look at verse twenty five. 40:29.000 --> 40:32.000 Chapter eight. Look at verse twenty five. 40:32.000 --> 40:40.000 And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem and preached the gospel and many villages of the Samaritans. 40:40.000 --> 40:46.000 If you actually study what the Bible's saying, they're just they're just like going, hey, we show up in a village, preach the gospel, leave. 40:46.000 --> 40:52.000 And they go to another village and preach the gospel and then leave and then go to another village and just preach the gospel and leave. 40:52.000 --> 40:58.000 It's like, oh, how dare you not spend any time with these people and set up all these churches and blah, blah, blah. 40:58.000 --> 41:00.000 We don't got time for that. 41:00.000 --> 41:03.000 We got to just go to the village, give them the gospel. 41:03.000 --> 41:05.000 Next village, next village. 41:05.000 --> 41:09.000 You know, that makes me think of, oh, yeah, Jesus and the disciples. 41:10.000 --> 41:15.000 Didn't they just go to every single tribe and every single village and every single town? 41:15.000 --> 41:18.000 And Jesus didn't commit himself unto anybody. 41:18.000 --> 41:21.000 And he was just sitting there just going to next, next, next, next, next. 41:21.000 --> 41:25.000 And sometimes you had five thousand people say, you know, following him for a few days. 41:25.000 --> 41:27.000 And then they all left. 41:27.000 --> 41:30.000 And it's like, OK, we only got twelve. Let's keep going. 41:30.000 --> 41:33.000 And then they just go to the next town and the next town and the next town and the next town. 41:33.000 --> 41:35.000 And they do this for three and a half years. 41:35.000 --> 41:42.000 So a small group of people with Jesus give a large group, the children of Israel, the gospel. 41:42.000 --> 41:46.000 Then he takes a small group again and they evangelize the entire world. 41:46.000 --> 41:52.000 And it's like, oh, man, you guys think that there's just a small group of people evangelizing the world today. 41:52.000 --> 41:54.000 That's the same as always been. 41:54.000 --> 41:56.000 It's never been any different. 41:56.000 --> 41:59.000 It's always been a remnant. It's always been few. 41:59.000 --> 42:09.000 I mean, what if we had like, I don't know, read letters in our Bible where Jesus Christ is literally saying the harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers be few. 42:09.000 --> 42:13.000 Oh, you just think there's few laborers? Yeah, because I believe Jesus. 42:13.000 --> 42:17.000 I mean, think about the two things in that element of what he said. 42:17.000 --> 42:20.000 He said there's few people doing it. But what did he say? 42:20.000 --> 42:23.000 The harvest is plenteous. 42:23.000 --> 42:28.000 So if you're not getting lots of people saved, then you're not preaching the gospel. 42:28.000 --> 42:32.000 Because Jesus said that the harvest is plenteous. 42:32.000 --> 42:35.000 Oh, you're about numbers and you think you should have big numbers. 42:35.000 --> 42:39.000 Yeah, because if you aren't, then you must be doing something wrong. 42:39.000 --> 42:42.000 Because according to Jesus, the harvest is plenteous. 42:42.000 --> 42:49.000 So if you're not seeing a big results, if you're not seeing something going on, then there's a problem. 42:49.000 --> 42:51.000 There's an issue. 42:51.000 --> 43:00.000 That's why it's frustrating when you see these missionary letters and they say, yeah, this week we swept the floor. 43:00.000 --> 43:06.000 And we learned a new word in the language and we invited Pablo to come to church. 43:06.000 --> 43:09.000 Pray that Pablo will come to church. 43:09.000 --> 43:11.000 It's like, OK, what's acts? 43:11.000 --> 43:16.000 Three thousand saved, five thousand saved the next day. 43:16.000 --> 43:19.000 They went to this village, got everybody saved. What does another village got them saved? 43:19.000 --> 43:22.000 It's like, yeah, that's the kind of missionary letters I want to read. 43:22.000 --> 43:29.000 I want to read missionary letters from people like Pastor Matthew Stuckey, where it's like, hey, we got 20,000 people saved last year. 43:29.000 --> 43:36.000 I want to read missionary letters from our evangelist, evangelist Duncan Urbanek, which is like, yeah, we got seven thousand something people saved. 43:36.000 --> 43:40.000 Brother Kenton just walking into Catholic churches and you're getting people saved. 43:40.000 --> 43:44.000 It's like, dang, I guess I guess when you're black, you can do whatever you want. 43:44.000 --> 43:46.000 You know what I mean? 43:46.000 --> 43:50.000 Get people saved in their own house, you know. 43:50.000 --> 43:52.000 They're like, you can have my bike. I'm just kidding. 43:52.000 --> 43:54.000 It was a joke. 43:55.000 --> 43:59.000 Look, Acts, chapter eight, look at verse 26. 43:59.000 --> 44:07.000 And the angel, the Lord said in the philip saying, arise and go toward the south under the way that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza, which is desert. 44:07.000 --> 44:15.000 And he rose and went and behold, a man of Ethiopia and eunuch of great authority under Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, 44:15.000 --> 44:22.000 who had the charge of all our treasure and had come to Jerusalem for worship, was returning and sitting in his chariot, read Isaiah the prophet. 44:22.000 --> 44:25.000 Then the spirit said to Philip, go near and join thyself to this chariot. 44:25.000 --> 44:33.000 Philip ran thither to him and heard him read the prophet Isaiah and said, understand this, thou what thou readest? 44:33.000 --> 44:38.000 And he said, how can I accept some man should guide me? 44:38.000 --> 44:40.000 I love that question. 44:40.000 --> 44:46.000 How is someone going to get saved until a soul winner shows up and just tells them how to get saved? 44:46.000 --> 44:48.000 And you know what? This guy goes from not even knowing who Jesus is to moments later getting baptized. 46:12.000 --> 46:15.000 That's pretty quick, folks. 46:15.000 --> 46:17.000 I mean, he doesn't even know Jesus is. 46:17.000 --> 46:20.000 He just opens his mouth, just starts preaching unto Jesus. 46:20.000 --> 46:25.000 He confesses that Christ, he gets saved, he gets baptized. 46:25.000 --> 46:29.000 And then they started a church together and lived happily ever after. 46:29.000 --> 46:31.000 No, let's keep reading. 46:31.000 --> 46:38.000 And when they were come up out of the water, so it's like literally the baptism hasn't fully finished. 46:38.000 --> 46:40.000 He hasn't even gotten a towel yet. 46:40.000 --> 46:41.000 The spirit of Lord caught away. 46:41.000 --> 46:45.000 Philip, the eunuch, saw him no more and he went on his way rejoicing. 46:45.000 --> 46:49.000 He didn't even offer him a towel. 46:49.000 --> 46:52.000 It's like, how dare you're not even offering people towels for the baptism. 46:52.000 --> 46:54.000 It's like, well, this guy, it's like, I mean, think about it. 46:54.000 --> 46:58.000 It's like, and gone. 46:58.000 --> 47:04.000 I mean, it's like the missionary money to the Philippines, you know, from that was sent to Verity. 47:04.000 --> 47:06.000 It's like, and it's gone. 47:06.000 --> 47:17.000 As soon as they cash it in, as soon as they get it, it's like this is just silly to sit here and read the Bible like this and then think, you know, I think it takes a long time to get people saved. 47:17.000 --> 47:19.000 How come you're not following up with people? 47:19.000 --> 47:21.000 Are you even sure they're saved? 47:21.000 --> 47:23.000 Yes. 47:23.000 --> 47:25.000 That's what the Bible teaches. 47:25.000 --> 47:26.000 The Bible shows these examples. 47:26.000 --> 47:30.000 Go to chapter 11, verse 11, chapter 11, verse 11. 47:30.000 --> 47:36.000 The Bible teaches that people get saved fast. 47:36.000 --> 47:41.000 Now, look, not everybody gets saved the first time they hear the gospel. 47:41.000 --> 47:43.000 And the Bible records some examples of that, too. 47:43.000 --> 47:48.000 The Bible records some people hearing on one Sabbath day, and then they come back the next Sabbath day. 47:48.000 --> 47:50.000 And then that's when they got saved. 47:50.000 --> 47:53.000 So sure, sometimes it takes a little bit effort energy. 47:53.000 --> 47:54.000 We get that. 47:54.000 --> 47:59.000 But for the people that are receptive, the people that are seeking, the people that are open, man, it's just like, bam. 47:59.000 --> 48:02.000 And that is what you actually experience in this world. 48:02.000 --> 48:08.000 If you become a soul winner, you will realize there are some people out there that are ready to get saved. 48:08.000 --> 48:10.000 You realize there are some people seeking. 48:10.000 --> 48:13.000 You realize there's some people that you say, hey, can I show you how to be safe? 48:13.000 --> 48:15.000 Like, yes, please do. 48:15.000 --> 48:22.000 I was soul winning Wednesday night, and I'm kind of walking up on a guy who's in his car. 48:22.000 --> 48:25.000 And I can tell he's like he's like making a sandwich. 48:25.000 --> 48:27.000 He like got a sandwich from McDonald's or something. 48:27.000 --> 48:28.000 I don't know. 48:28.000 --> 48:32.000 But he's like taking the top off and he's like putting some kind of sauce on it or something. 48:32.000 --> 48:35.000 I mean, he's ready to eat this burger or whatever or chicken sandwich. 48:35.000 --> 48:37.000 I can't remember. 48:37.000 --> 48:39.000 And he's pouring his he's pouring his sauce on it. 48:39.000 --> 48:44.000 And I kind of walk up and I started asking the questions and he kind of finishes and has a sandwich there. 48:44.000 --> 48:46.000 And I'm like, can I show you the gospel? 48:46.000 --> 48:48.000 And he's like, yes. 48:48.000 --> 48:51.000 And then he just he just like puts his food in like you can. 48:51.000 --> 48:53.000 I said, you can eat while I'm showing this. 48:53.000 --> 48:54.000 He's like, no. 48:54.000 --> 48:57.000 He's like, I want to pay attention to what you have to say. 48:57.000 --> 48:59.000 It's like, OK. 48:59.000 --> 49:00.000 So I start giving the gospel. 49:00.000 --> 49:02.000 Then his mom like was an unsaved heretic. 49:02.000 --> 49:07.000 And she kept like coming out and was like yelling at him to like leave so that I would stop preaching him. 49:07.000 --> 49:12.000 And every time she would, I would kind of be like nervous about how he was going to react. 49:12.000 --> 49:15.000 So I was just kind of like, hey, it's only going to be four minutes. 49:15.000 --> 49:16.000 He's like, don't worry about it. 49:16.000 --> 49:18.000 I want to listen. 49:18.000 --> 49:21.000 And it was like, look, this guy doesn't even know me. 49:21.000 --> 49:22.000 But like he wants to hear. 49:22.000 --> 49:24.000 He wants to know. 49:24.000 --> 49:25.000 And of course, he did get saved. 49:25.000 --> 49:28.000 Super receptive, really understood. 49:28.000 --> 49:32.000 And I was even I was even shown like, look, some people don't believe this. 49:32.000 --> 49:33.000 Some people like think differently. 49:33.000 --> 49:35.000 He's like, yeah, I understand. 49:35.000 --> 49:36.000 So like your mom does not believe this. 49:36.000 --> 49:38.000 He's like, yeah, I know. 49:38.000 --> 49:40.000 And I'm like, but he wanted to hear. 49:40.000 --> 49:41.000 And he got saved. 49:41.000 --> 49:43.000 And look, not everybody's like that. 49:43.000 --> 49:45.000 Some people are very distracted. 49:45.000 --> 49:47.000 Some people come and go. 49:47.000 --> 49:49.000 Some people get upset at some point in the presentation. 49:49.000 --> 49:51.000 Look, there's all kinds of different experiences. 49:51.000 --> 49:52.000 But I am telling you this. 49:52.000 --> 49:56.000 There are some people like this guy that just want to get saved. 49:56.000 --> 49:59.000 There are some people that are super interested, super locked in. 49:59.000 --> 50:08.000 Sometimes they're thinking like, and you hear this, they'll say, man, I've been kind of praying and asking God to like show me a sign or or I've been really thinking about this issue. 50:09.000 --> 50:11.000 And this just seems like a God moment. 50:11.000 --> 50:13.000 I feel like God wants me to hear this. 50:13.000 --> 50:16.000 And you're like, yes, it's real. 50:16.000 --> 50:18.000 You'll have these experiences. 50:18.000 --> 50:19.000 You go so winning regularly. 50:19.000 --> 50:21.000 Act chapter 11, look at verse 11. 50:21.000 --> 50:23.000 Have you hold immediately? 50:23.000 --> 50:27.000 There was three men already come under the house where I was sent from Caesarea. 50:27.000 --> 50:30.000 I mean, this is Peter recounting a soul winning story. 50:30.000 --> 50:36.000 Yeah, like in the Bible, they actually just retell soul winning stories. 50:36.000 --> 50:41.000 He says, yeah, there's these three guys that showed up and they were like, hey, you got to come with me. 50:41.000 --> 50:44.000 Says in verse 11, the spirit made me go with them. 50:44.000 --> 50:45.000 Nothing doubting. 50:45.000 --> 50:55.000 Moreover, these six brethren accompanied me and we entered into the man's house and he showed us how we had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said for said unto him, send me to Joppa. 50:55.000 --> 51:04.000 Call for Simon, whose surname is Peter, who shall tell the words whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved. 51:05.000 --> 51:09.000 He's like, hey, we need someone to come over here and just tell us words. 51:09.000 --> 51:16.000 And then guess what gets them saved words, you know, get you saved the word of God. 51:16.000 --> 51:21.000 Faith come by hearing and hearing by the word of God. 51:21.000 --> 51:29.000 And you know what you come and you show someone John three, 16, you show him Romans chapter number 10 and you show him for who suffers a call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 51:29.000 --> 51:33.000 And they pray and they believe those words and those words save them. 51:33.000 --> 51:36.000 Yeah, because the word of God is God, folks. 51:36.000 --> 51:40.000 And Jesus Christ will save the believer in God's word. 51:40.000 --> 51:43.000 And Peter was there to tell them the words that would save them. 51:43.000 --> 51:47.000 It wasn't Peter showed them how to repent of all their sins. 51:47.000 --> 51:49.000 Peter showed them how to get baptized. 51:49.000 --> 51:51.000 Peter had to drag them to church. 51:51.000 --> 51:52.000 No, no, no. 51:52.000 --> 51:55.000 Peter told them words that was going to get them saved. 51:55.000 --> 51:56.000 And what were those words? 51:56.000 --> 51:57.000 It was the gospel of Jesus Christ. 51:57.000 --> 52:00.000 And that is what saved them. 52:00.000 --> 52:08.000 And immediately says, and as they begin, as the eyes began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them as on us at the beginning. 52:08.000 --> 52:14.000 He shows up and just almost immediately after preaching the gospel, they just immediately saved. 52:14.000 --> 52:16.000 But this is not a long process, folks. 52:16.000 --> 52:17.000 It was just immediate. 52:17.000 --> 52:25.000 And they heard these guys calling upon the name of the Lord and foreign languages because the Holy Ghost had come upon them and they were able to speak in tongues. 52:25.000 --> 52:35.000 And then they're like, I guess we have to baptize them because look, they're already obviously saved because they're able to speak with tongues just like we were with this special gift of the Holy Ghost. 52:35.000 --> 52:39.000 Go to chapter 13, look at verse 48, chapter 13, verse 48. 52:39.000 --> 52:44.000 You know, you see in the Bible, you see people getting saved the same day it's preached unto them. 52:44.000 --> 52:50.000 Not only that, you see them saved in basically the same moment, the same timeline. 52:50.000 --> 52:53.000 People getting baptized the same day that they're getting saved. 52:53.000 --> 52:54.000 They're hearing the gospel. 52:54.000 --> 52:56.000 It's a quick, speedy process. 52:56.000 --> 52:59.000 Acts chapter 13, look at verse 48. 52:59.000 --> 53:03.000 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. 53:03.000 --> 53:06.000 And as many as were ordained to eternal life believe. 53:06.000 --> 53:08.000 The apostle Paul shows up in town. 53:08.000 --> 53:09.000 Gentiles hear it. 53:09.000 --> 53:13.000 And the same day, those who are ordained to eternal life believe. 53:13.000 --> 53:14.000 Why? 53:14.000 --> 53:18.000 Because people can get saved the same day that they hear the gospel. 53:18.000 --> 53:20.000 Now, look at chapter 14, verse 1. 53:20.000 --> 53:25.000 And it came to pass in Iconium that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews and so spake, 53:25.000 --> 53:29.000 that a great multitude, both of the Jews and also the Greeks, believed. 53:29.000 --> 53:35.000 They just go to another town, show up in the synagogue, start preaching, and then a bunch of people got saved. 53:35.000 --> 53:38.000 Man, it seems like I see a consistent theme, huh?
