WEBVTT

00:00.000 --> 00:07.440
The healing stream flows from Calvary's mountain.

00:07.440 --> 00:17.420
In the cross, in the cross, be my glory ever.

00:17.420 --> 00:27.900
Till my raptured soul shall find rest beyond the river.

00:27.900 --> 00:37.300
At the cross I stood one day, of emersing bounty.

00:37.300 --> 00:47.140
There the bright and longing star sheds its wings around me.

00:47.140 --> 00:56.820
In the cross, in the cross, be my glory ever.

00:56.820 --> 01:06.500
Till my raptured soul shall find rest beyond the river.

01:06.500 --> 01:15.420
Near the cross, O Lamb of God, brings its seeds before me.

01:15.420 --> 01:24.500
Help me love from day to day, in this shadow of me.

01:24.500 --> 01:33.540
In the cross, in the cross, be my glory ever.

01:33.540 --> 01:43.100
Till my raptured soul shall find rest beyond the river.

01:43.100 --> 01:52.220
Near the cross, O Lamb of God, shall wait, hoping justly ever.

01:52.380 --> 02:01.780
Till I reach the boiling sweat just beyond the river.

02:01.780 --> 02:11.140
In the cross, in the cross, be my glory ever.

02:11.140 --> 02:22.140
Till my raptured soul shall find rest beyond the river.

02:22.140 --> 02:28.820
We have heard the joyful sound, Jesus saves, Jesus saves.

02:28.820 --> 02:35.820
Spread the tidings all around, Jesus saves, Jesus saves.

02:35.820 --> 02:42.820
There the noose in every land, by the speeds across the waves,

02:42.820 --> 02:50.300
on which his heralds command, Jesus saves, Jesus saves.

02:50.340 --> 02:57.340
Waffed it on the rolling tide, Jesus saves, Jesus saves.

02:57.340 --> 03:04.340
Tell to sinners far and wide, Jesus saves, Jesus saves.

03:04.340 --> 03:11.340
Sing the islands of the sea, echo back the ocean paves,

03:11.340 --> 03:19.340
first the keeper to the wind, Jesus saves, Jesus saves.

03:19.380 --> 03:26.380
Sing above the battle-strikes, Jesus saves, Jesus saves.

03:26.380 --> 03:33.380
Guide his death in endless light, Jesus saves, Jesus saves.

03:33.380 --> 03:40.380
Sing it softly through the gloom, when the heart for mercy craves.

03:40.380 --> 03:48.380
Sing it triumph o'er the tear, Jesus saves, Jesus saves.

03:48.420 --> 03:55.420
Give the winds a mighty voice, Jesus saves, Jesus saves.

03:55.420 --> 04:02.420
Let the nations now rejoice, Jesus saves, Jesus saves.

04:02.420 --> 04:09.420
Transformation full and free, highest hills and deepest caves,

04:09.460 --> 04:16.460
this our song of victory, Jesus saves, Jesus saves.

04:24.460 --> 04:30.420
The Lord's our rock in him, we hide, the shelter in the time of

04:30.420 --> 04:32.420
storm.

04:32.420 --> 04:37.420
Sing for all that ever will be time, the shelter in the time

04:37.420 --> 04:38.420
of storm.

04:38.420 --> 04:39.420
Amen.

04:39.420 --> 04:40.420
Sing it out now.

04:40.420 --> 04:46.420
The Lord Jesus is our rock in the weary land, the weary land,

04:46.420 --> 04:48.420
the weary land.

04:48.420 --> 04:53.420
The Lord Jesus is our rock in the weary land, the shelter in

04:53.420 --> 04:56.420
the time of storm.

04:56.420 --> 05:01.420
O shade my way, be fixed by night, the shelter in the time

05:01.420 --> 05:03.420
of storm.

05:03.420 --> 05:08.420
The Lord Jesus is our rock in the weary land, the weary land,

05:08.420 --> 05:10.420
the weary land.

05:10.420 --> 05:25.420
The Lord Jesus is our rock in the weary land, the shelter in

05:25.420 --> 05:27.420
the time of storm.

05:27.420 --> 05:34.420
The raging storm may round us be, the shelter in the time of

05:34.420 --> 05:35.420
storm.

05:35.420 --> 05:42.420
In every heart a sacred drink, the shelter in the time of

05:42.420 --> 05:43.420
storm.

05:43.420 --> 05:50.420
The Lord Jesus is our rock in the weary land, the weary land,

05:50.420 --> 05:51.420
the weary land.

05:52.420 --> 05:57.420
The Lord Jesus is our rock in the weary land, the shelter in

05:57.420 --> 05:59.420
the time of storm.

05:59.420 --> 06:00.420
Sing all the last now.

06:00.420 --> 06:05.420
O rock, be right, O breath, be still, the shelter in the time

06:05.420 --> 06:07.420
of storm.

06:07.420 --> 06:15.420
We now are held forever near, the shelter in the time of storm.

06:15.420 --> 06:22.420
The Lord Jesus is our rock in the weary land, the weary land,

06:22.420 --> 06:24.420
the weary land.

06:24.420 --> 06:29.420
The Lord Jesus is our rock in the weary land, the shelter in

06:29.420 --> 06:32.420
the time of storm.

06:32.420 --> 06:42.420
He leadeth me, O blessed God, O words with heavenly comfort

06:42.420 --> 06:43.420
fraught.

06:43.420 --> 06:54.420
Whate'er I do, where'er I be, still this God's hand that leadeth

06:54.420 --> 07:06.420
me, He leadeth me, He leadeth me by His own hand, He leadeth

07:06.420 --> 07:07.420
me.

07:08.420 --> 07:19.420
This faithful Father I would be, for by His hand He leadeth me.

07:19.420 --> 07:28.420
Sometimes it seems a deep misplu', sometimes the rain is

07:28.420 --> 07:31.420
heavy, sometimes the clouds are blue.

07:31.420 --> 07:38.420
By waters still or troubles, He's built His own God's hand

07:38.420 --> 07:40.420
that leadeth me.

07:40.420 --> 07:42.420
Hey man, sing it out now.

07:42.420 --> 07:53.420
He leadeth me, He leadeth me by His own hand, He leadeth me.

07:54.420 --> 08:05.420
This faithful Father I would be, for by His hand He leadeth me.

08:05.420 --> 08:16.420
Lord, I would clasp Thy hand in mine, nor ever murmur nor remind.

08:16.420 --> 08:26.420
Content whatever thought I see, since this is my God that leadeth me.

08:26.420 --> 08:38.420
He leadeth me, He leadeth me by His own hand, He leadeth me.

08:38.420 --> 08:49.420
This faithful Father I would be, for by His hand He leadeth me.

08:49.420 --> 09:02.420
On blast now, and when my task on earth is done, when by the grace of victory's won,

09:02.420 --> 09:13.420
in death's cold wave I will not flee still God, through Jordan leadeth me.

09:13.420 --> 09:24.420
He leadeth me, He leadeth me by His own hand, He leadeth me.

09:24.420 --> 09:36.420
This faithful Father I would be, for by His hand He leadeth me.

09:36.420 --> 09:44.420
Down at the cross where I see your light, where the waves even still I find,

09:44.420 --> 10:00.420
glory to my heart was the God of life, glory to His name, glory to His name.

10:00.420 --> 10:08.420
Glory to my heart was the God of life, glory to His name.

10:08.420 --> 10:16.420
I am so wondrously saved from sin, Jesus, the Savior, might be with me,

10:16.420 --> 10:32.420
when at the cross where He took me, glory to His name, glory to His name, glory to His name.

10:32.420 --> 10:40.420
Where to my heart was the God of life, glory to His name.

10:40.420 --> 10:48.420
Oh precious fountain that saves from sin, I am so glad I have entered in,

10:48.420 --> 11:00.420
where Jesus is, He leads me free, glory to His name, glory to His name.

11:00.420 --> 11:11.420
Glory to His name, glory to my heart was the God of life, glory to His name.

11:11.420 --> 11:17.420
All the blessed, come to this fountain so rich and sweet,

11:17.420 --> 11:25.420
cast like a soul at the Savior's feet, find it again in Him complete,

11:25.420 --> 11:37.420
glory to His name, glory to His name, glory to His name.

11:37.420 --> 11:45.420
Where to my heart was the God of life, glory to His name, glory to His name.

12:07.420 --> 12:09.420
Thank you.

12:37.420 --> 12:47.420
Good evening everyone, welcome to Steadfast Baptist Church.

12:47.420 --> 12:52.420
Let's find our seats and begin this evening with hymn number 43.

12:52.420 --> 12:55.420
We're marching to Zion.

12:55.420 --> 13:02.420
Hymn number 43, we're marching to Zion.

13:02.420 --> 13:07.420
Hymn number 43, we're marching to Zion.

13:07.420 --> 13:11.420
Let's all lift it up on the first now.

13:11.420 --> 13:19.420
Come we that love the Lord and let our joys be known,

13:19.420 --> 13:27.420
join in us on with speed of core, join in us on with speed of core,

13:27.420 --> 13:33.420
join in us on with speed of core, and thus around the throne,

13:33.420 --> 13:37.420
and thus around the throne.

13:37.420 --> 13:45.420
We're marching to Zion, beautiful, beautiful Zion.

13:45.420 --> 13:52.420
We're marching upward to Zion, the beautiful city of God.

13:52.420 --> 13:54.420
Let's sing this evening on the second.

13:54.420 --> 14:02.420
Let those who refuse to sing, who never knew our God,

14:02.420 --> 14:10.420
the children of the heavenly King, the children of the heavenly King,

14:10.420 --> 14:18.420
may speak their joys abroad, may speak their joys abroad.

14:18.420 --> 14:25.420
We're marching to Zion, beautiful, beautiful Zion.

14:25.420 --> 14:33.420
We're marching upward to Zion, the beautiful city of God.

14:33.420 --> 14:41.420
The hill of Zion yields a thousand sacred speaks

14:41.420 --> 14:49.420
before we reach the heavenly hills, before we reach the heavenly hills,

14:49.420 --> 14:57.420
or walk the golden streets, or walk the golden streets.

14:57.420 --> 15:04.420
We're marching to Zion, beautiful, beautiful Zion.

15:04.420 --> 15:11.420
We're marching upward to Zion, the beautiful city of God.

15:11.420 --> 15:12.420
On the last.

15:12.420 --> 15:20.420
Then let our songs abound, and every tear be dry.

15:20.420 --> 15:24.420
We're marching through Emmanuel's crown.

15:24.420 --> 15:28.420
We're marching through Emmanuel's crown.

15:28.420 --> 15:36.420
To bear world on high, to bear world on high.

15:36.420 --> 15:44.420
We're marching to Zion, beautiful, beautiful Zion.

15:44.420 --> 15:53.420
We're marching upward to Zion, the beautiful city of God.

15:53.420 --> 15:55.420
Amen. Great singing this evening.

15:55.420 --> 15:57.420
Let's open up with a word of prayer.

15:57.420 --> 16:00.420
Heavenly Father, we thank you for Steadfast Baptist Church.

16:00.420 --> 16:04.420
We thank you for all the people gathered here together in your name to worship you.

16:04.420 --> 16:08.420
We thank you Lord for the soul winning and the fellowship that we get to enjoy here at this church.

16:08.420 --> 16:11.420
And we pray that you bless us service, you bless the preaching,

16:11.420 --> 16:15.420
and that you strengthen and encourage our hearts through your word this evening.

16:15.420 --> 16:17.420
In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

16:17.420 --> 16:22.420
Our second song will be page 99.

16:22.420 --> 16:25.420
Hymn 99, Come Ye Disconsolate.

16:32.420 --> 16:36.420
Hymn number 99, Come Ye Disconsolate.

16:36.420 --> 16:38.420
Let's all lift it up now.

16:38.420 --> 16:39.420
On that first.

16:39.420 --> 16:50.420
Come ye, Disconsolate, where ye languish.

16:50.420 --> 17:00.420
Come to the mercy sea, hermene'er.

17:00.420 --> 17:10.420
Here bring your wounded hearts, here tell your languish.

17:10.420 --> 17:20.420
Her earth has no sorrow that death cannot heal.

17:20.420 --> 17:30.420
Joy of the desolate, light of the straight.

17:30.420 --> 17:40.420
Hope of the penitent, painless and pure.

17:40.420 --> 17:50.420
Here sings the conqueror, tenderly saying.

17:50.420 --> 18:00.420
Her earth has no sorrow that death cannot cure.

18:00.420 --> 18:12.420
Here see the bread of life, sea waters flowing.

18:12.420 --> 18:22.420
Forth from the throne of God, dutiful of us.

18:22.420 --> 18:32.420
Come to the peace of God, child ever knowing.

18:32.420 --> 18:44.420
Her earth has no sorrow that death can remove.

18:44.420 --> 18:47.420
Alright, welcome to Steadfast Baptist Church.

18:47.420 --> 18:55.420
This Wednesday evening if you need a bulletin raise your hand nice and high and we'll have one of the ushers come around and get that to you.

18:55.420 --> 18:58.420
On the front there we do have our verse for the week.

18:58.420 --> 19:06.420
So anybody under the age of 18 that can quote that to a non-family member can receive an ice cream treat after the service.

19:06.420 --> 19:14.420
On the inside we do have our service times and our soul winning times along with our regional soul winning times and our stats below that.

19:14.420 --> 19:18.420
Please keep in prayer for our expecting ladies.

19:18.420 --> 19:22.420
We do have a lot of upcoming events to look forward to.

19:22.420 --> 19:26.420
We have the Mother's Day brunch May 9th.

19:26.420 --> 19:28.420
That's coming right around the corner.

19:28.420 --> 19:32.420
We also have the Red Hot Preaching Conference in Sacramento, California.

19:32.420 --> 19:34.420
The pastor is going to be preaching for that.

19:34.420 --> 19:36.420
That's May 15th through the 16th.

19:36.420 --> 19:40.420
The Anti-Israel Conference is May 20th through the 24th.

19:40.420 --> 19:42.420
So you definitely want to put that on your calendar.

19:42.420 --> 19:44.420
You don't want to miss it.

19:44.420 --> 19:46.420
It's going to be a great time.

19:46.420 --> 19:49.420
A lot of cool events that we've got set up for that.

19:49.420 --> 19:52.420
And definitely don't want to miss.

19:52.420 --> 19:56.420
And then there's going to be a Europe soul winning conference in Germany June 17th.

19:56.420 --> 19:58.420
Father's Day floats June 21st.

19:58.420 --> 20:06.420
There's a Fiji missions trip that Pastor Kevin Sepulveda is going to be hosting in Fiji of course.

20:06.420 --> 20:08.420
And that's July 12th.

20:08.420 --> 20:13.420
If you're interested in that I can give you the info that you need if you'd like to attend that.

20:13.420 --> 20:16.420
We've got a couple people from our church that are already planning on going.

20:16.420 --> 20:20.420
The Mesquite soul winning marathons August 22nd.

20:20.420 --> 20:25.420
And then Barbados missions trip September 7th through the 12th.

20:25.420 --> 20:30.420
And I've already had several people send in itineraries for that if you are planning on attending.

20:30.420 --> 20:32.420
And you would like to be added to the list.

20:32.420 --> 20:36.420
If you haven't done so already send your flight itinerary to our email.

20:36.420 --> 20:38.420
And we'll get you added to the list.

20:38.420 --> 20:42.420
And we've got several other events as well that you can look at.

20:42.420 --> 20:45.420
On the back we do have our prayer list.

20:45.420 --> 20:51.420
So at this time we'll go through our prayer list and we'll say a word of prayer for those here.

20:51.420 --> 20:53.420
We have first Brother Tony.

20:53.420 --> 20:56.420
We're going to continue praying for him.

20:56.420 --> 20:59.420
We have Brother Su Hell's mother we're continuing to pray for.

20:59.420 --> 21:01.420
Brother Billy Day.

21:01.420 --> 21:03.420
His mother had surgery.

21:03.420 --> 21:07.420
And so we're still continuing for her recovery.

21:07.420 --> 21:11.420
And also for his family and his son.

21:11.420 --> 21:17.420
And then we're continuing to pray for Brother Spurgeon for a job and our job opportunity.

21:17.420 --> 21:20.420
And then also the Urbannick family as well.

21:20.420 --> 21:22.420
I think they're doing well.

21:22.420 --> 21:26.420
And so definitely keep them in your thoughts.

21:26.420 --> 21:29.420
We have the Brother Nick Canary's brother.

21:29.420 --> 21:31.420
He had surgery as well.

21:31.420 --> 21:36.420
And so we'll continue to be in prayer for him and his recovery.

21:36.420 --> 21:41.420
Brother Benson is also asking for prayer for Brother Jameson while he's in the Philippines.

21:41.420 --> 21:47.420
And then also that we pray for the mission strip that's upcoming in September.

21:47.420 --> 21:50.420
That we'd have an opportunity to get into a lot of schools when we go.

21:50.420 --> 21:54.420
And then also for the Larky family and their daughter Noelle.

21:54.420 --> 21:57.420
So at this time we'll just say a quick word of prayer.

21:57.420 --> 22:02.420
Dear Heavenly Father, Lord, thank you for just allowing us all to come and gather in your name.

22:02.420 --> 22:04.420
And hear from your word this evening.

22:04.420 --> 22:08.420
God, I pray that you would be with each one of the individuals here on this list.

22:08.420 --> 22:13.420
Lord, there's so many people who have need of prayers for their health.

22:13.420 --> 22:16.420
Recovering from various surgeries.

22:16.420 --> 22:23.420
And God, I just pray that you would have your hand of protection and hand of healing upon them.

22:23.420 --> 22:27.420
Or we're thankful for all the pregnant ladies in our church.

22:27.420 --> 22:35.420
God, I pray that you would help them have a safe birth process and delivery.

22:35.420 --> 22:43.420
And just pray that all those involved would have good health during that time.

22:43.420 --> 22:47.420
God, I just am thankful for just the many blessings that you do for our church.

22:47.420 --> 22:50.420
And God, I pray for the mission strip that's upcoming in September.

22:50.420 --> 22:54.420
God, that we would be able to just see many people saved.

22:54.420 --> 23:00.420
And I pray for those that would be traveling for the conference upcoming in May.

23:00.420 --> 23:05.420
Lord, that they would remain safe and there would be no issues.

23:05.420 --> 23:09.420
God, I pray that you would allow that conference to go smoothly.

23:09.420 --> 23:11.420
And Lord, we're just thankful for all that you do.

23:11.420 --> 23:14.420
We pray these things in your son's name. Amen.

23:14.420 --> 23:15.420
Amen.

23:15.420 --> 23:17.420
All right, we'll go to our next song.

23:17.420 --> 23:25.420
As brother Diaz leads us, Psalm 149.

23:25.420 --> 23:30.420
It's going to be Psalm 149.

23:30.420 --> 23:33.420
Psalm 149.

23:42.420 --> 23:44.420
Psalm 149.

23:44.420 --> 23:47.420
Let's all lift it up on the first there now.

24:14.420 --> 24:21.420
Let them praise his name in the dance.

24:21.420 --> 24:30.420
Let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and heart.

24:30.420 --> 24:38.420
For the Lord takeeth pleasure in his people.

24:38.420 --> 24:45.420
He will beautify the meek with salvation.

24:45.420 --> 24:52.420
Let the saints be joyful in glory.

24:52.420 --> 24:59.420
Let them sing aloud upon their beds.

24:59.420 --> 25:07.420
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth.

25:07.420 --> 25:14.420
And the two edgings stored in their hand.

25:14.420 --> 25:21.420
To execute vengeance upon the heathen.

25:21.420 --> 25:29.420
And providence upon the people.

25:29.420 --> 25:34.420
To find their kings with chains.

25:34.420 --> 25:43.420
And their nobles with letters of fire.

25:43.420 --> 25:50.420
To execute upon them the judgment written.

25:50.420 --> 25:55.420
This modern apple and its days.

25:55.420 --> 26:01.420
Praising the Lord.

26:01.420 --> 26:02.420
Amen.

26:02.420 --> 26:04.420
At this time the offering plates will be passed around.

26:04.420 --> 26:07.420
And in the meantime you can turn your Bibles to Deuteronomy chapter 26.

26:07.420 --> 26:10.420
You can follow along in the reading of God's word.

26:10.420 --> 26:13.420
Deuteronomy chapter 26.

26:21.420 --> 26:25.420
The Lord is coming.

26:25.420 --> 26:28.420
The Lord is coming.

26:28.420 --> 26:31.420
The Lord is coming.

26:31.420 --> 26:34.420
The Lord is coming.

26:34.420 --> 26:37.420
The Lord is coming.

26:37.420 --> 26:40.420
The Lord is coming.

26:40.420 --> 26:43.420
The Lord is coming.

26:43.420 --> 26:46.420
The Lord is coming.

26:46.420 --> 26:49.420
The Lord is coming.

26:49.420 --> 26:52.420
The Lord is coming.

26:52.420 --> 26:55.420
The Lord is coming.

26:55.420 --> 26:58.420
The Lord is coming.

26:58.420 --> 27:01.420
The Lord is coming.

27:01.420 --> 27:04.420
The Lord is coming.

27:04.420 --> 27:07.420
The Lord is coming.

27:07.420 --> 27:10.420
The Lord is coming.

27:10.420 --> 27:13.420
The Lord is coming.

27:13.420 --> 27:16.420
The Lord is coming.

27:16.420 --> 27:19.420
The Lord is coming.

27:19.420 --> 27:22.420
The Lord is coming.

27:22.420 --> 27:25.420
The Lord is coming.

27:25.420 --> 27:28.420
The Lord is coming.

27:28.420 --> 27:31.420
Deuteronomy chapter 26.

27:31.420 --> 27:34.420
The Bible reads.

27:34.420 --> 27:45.420
And it shall be when thou art coming into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance and possesses it and dwelleth therein that thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the earth which thou shalt bring of thy land that the Lord thy God giveth thee and shall put it in the heart of the earth.

27:45.420 --> 27:51.420
And thou shalt put it in a basket and shall go unto the place which the Lord thy God shall choose to place his name there.

27:51.420 --> 28:02.420
And thou shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days and say unto him, I profess this day unto the Lord thy God that I am come unto the country which the Lord swear unto our fathers for to give us.

28:02.420 --> 28:08.420
And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hand and set it before the altar of the Lord thy God.

28:08.420 --> 28:13.420
And thou shalt speak and say before the Lord thy God, Assyrian ready to perish was my father.

28:13.420 --> 28:19.420
And he went down into Egypt and sojourned there with a few and became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous.

28:19.420 --> 28:24.420
And the Egyptians evil entreated us and afflicted us and laid upon us hard bondage.

28:24.420 --> 28:31.420
And when we cried unto the Lord God of our fathers, the Lord heard our voice and looked on our affliction and our labor and our oppression.

28:31.420 --> 28:39.420
And the Lord brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm and with great terribleness and with signs and with wonders.

28:39.420 --> 28:44.420
And he had brought us into this place and had given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey.

28:44.420 --> 28:49.420
And now behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land which thou, O Lord, has given me.

28:49.420 --> 28:53.420
And thou shalt set it before the Lord thy God and worship before the Lord thy God.

28:53.420 --> 29:01.420
And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the Lord thy God hath given unto thee and unto thine house, thou and the Levite and the stranger that is among you.

29:01.420 --> 29:08.420
When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing,

29:08.420 --> 29:13.420
and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates and be filled,

29:13.420 --> 29:18.420
then shalt thou say before the Lord thy God, I have brought away the hallowed things out of mine house,

29:18.420 --> 29:22.420
and also I have given them unto the Levite and unto the stranger, and to the fatherless, and to the widow.

29:22.420 --> 29:28.420
According to all thy commandments which thou hast commanded me, I have not transgressed thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them.

29:28.420 --> 29:37.420
I have not eaten thereof in my morning, neither have I taken away aught thereof for any unclean use, nor given aught thereof for the dead.

29:37.420 --> 29:44.420
But I have hearkened to the voice of the Lord thy God, and have done according to all that thou hast commanded me.

29:44.420 --> 29:50.420
Look down from thy holy habitation from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the land which thou hast given us,

29:50.420 --> 29:54.420
as thou swearest unto our fathers a land that floweth with milk and honey.

29:54.420 --> 30:01.420
This day the Lord thy God hath commanded thee to do these statutes and judgments thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all thine heart and with all thy soul.

30:01.420 --> 30:09.420
Thou hast vouched the Lord this day to be thy God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes and his commandments, and his judgments, and to hearken unto his voice.

30:09.420 --> 30:16.420
And the Lord hath vouched thee this day to be his peculiar people as he hath promised thee, and thou shouldest keep all of his commandments,

30:16.420 --> 30:26.420
and to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, and praise, and a name, and an honor, and that thou mayest be in holy people unto the Lord thy God as he hath spoken.

30:26.420 --> 30:34.420
Let us pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for allowing us to be a church, Lord. Thank you for all the souls that are saved. Thank you for the Bible, Lord. Thank you for this chapter.

30:34.420 --> 30:42.420
I just pray you bless Pastor Shelley, filled with your Holy Spirit, to preach unto us your word and help us to make applicable changes in our lives to become better Christians. I pray this in Jesus' name, amen.

30:42.420 --> 30:43.420
Amen.

30:43.420 --> 30:52.420
Deuteronomy 26, we're going through a Bible study in the book of Deuteronomy, and really this particular chapter is dealing with the concept of the theme of first fruits.

30:52.420 --> 30:57.420
It's specifically in relation to tithing in this particular chapter.

30:57.420 --> 31:06.420
It's probably why a lot of people don't ever read or care about this chapter because it's talking about tithing, but that's where we're at in this particular section of Scripture.

31:06.420 --> 31:12.420
And it has a spiritual layer here that I think is important when we think about the first fruits principles.

31:12.420 --> 31:21.420
But let's go through the text here, and I want to go through some different other texts to talk about this particular issue, but we're first going to just go through this chapter.

31:21.420 --> 31:22.420
It says in verse 1,

31:41.420 --> 31:43.420
So notice a couple things.

31:43.420 --> 31:46.420
Number one, they're supposed to take the first of their fruits.

31:46.420 --> 31:53.420
Secondly, they're supposed to travel to a specific place, and they have to travel where God has chosen.

31:53.420 --> 31:55.420
So they can't just go wherever they want.

31:55.420 --> 31:59.420
They can't just choose whatever their fruits.

31:59.420 --> 32:06.420
They have to choose the first fruits, and they have to go where God is chosen for them to journey.

32:06.420 --> 32:10.420
This, you know, Deuteronomy is being written before they've even inherited the promised land.

32:10.420 --> 32:14.420
So they don't know that they're going to be going to Shiloh at first.

32:14.420 --> 32:17.420
They don't know that later they're going to be going to Jerusalem.

32:17.420 --> 32:25.420
He's just basically laying out this principle that wherever God's house is or wherever God chooses for you to go, that's where you are to go.

32:25.420 --> 32:31.420
It's not for you to make your own decision of where to worship God, but you go where God wants you to worship him.

32:31.420 --> 32:35.420
Additionally, you don't get to decide what you're going to offer the Lord.

32:35.420 --> 32:36.420
You're going to offer him the first.

32:36.420 --> 32:38.420
You give him the first of your fruits.

32:38.420 --> 32:41.420
That's what you have to take with you unto him.

32:41.420 --> 32:43.420
So again, this is a sacrifice in a sense.

32:43.420 --> 32:47.420
This is a something that's going to be an obligation to you.

32:47.420 --> 32:49.420
You have to collect these goods.

32:49.420 --> 32:50.420
You have to travel.

32:50.420 --> 32:51.420
You have to go there.

32:51.420 --> 32:53.420
You know, it's serving God is going to cost you.

32:53.420 --> 32:56.420
You have to understand that there is a cost of serving God.

32:56.420 --> 33:01.420
Now, praise God, salvation itself is free to be saved, to go to heaven.

33:01.420 --> 33:02.420
You don't have to do anything.

33:02.420 --> 33:07.420
You simply receive the free gift that's already been bought and paid for by Jesus Christ.

33:07.420 --> 33:11.420
And of course, then all honor and glory goes to Jesus Christ.

33:11.420 --> 33:16.420
But in order to be pleasing to God, we have to actually serve him.

33:16.420 --> 33:17.420
We have to work for him.

33:17.420 --> 33:19.420
And if you actually want to be pleasing to God, you have to work.

33:19.420 --> 33:21.420
You have to do the work that God has laid out.

33:21.420 --> 33:23.420
God does not bless laziness.

33:23.420 --> 33:25.420
God does not bless apathy.

33:25.420 --> 33:29.420
God blesses faith and people who work hard.

33:29.420 --> 33:32.420
And of course, these principles are taught in Scripture clearly.

33:32.420 --> 33:35.420
Verse three, And thou shalt go unto the priest that should be in those days,

33:35.420 --> 33:40.420
and say unto him, I profess this day unto the Lord thy God,

33:40.420 --> 33:43.420
that I am come unto the country which the Lord swear unto our fathers,

33:43.420 --> 33:45.420
for to give us.

33:45.420 --> 33:47.420
And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hand,

33:47.420 --> 33:50.420
and set it down before the altar of the Lord thy God.

33:50.420 --> 33:52.420
And thou shalt speak and say before the Lord thy God,

33:52.420 --> 33:55.420
A Syrian ready to perish was my father.

33:55.420 --> 33:59.420
And he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a few,

33:59.420 --> 34:02.420
and became there a nation great, mighty, and populous.

34:02.420 --> 34:05.420
And the Egyptians evil entreated us and afflicted us,

34:05.420 --> 34:07.420
and laid upon us hard bondage.

34:07.420 --> 34:10.420
And when we cried unto the Lord God of our fathers,

34:10.420 --> 34:12.420
the Lord heard our voice and looked on our affliction,

34:12.420 --> 34:15.420
and our labor, and our oppression.

34:15.420 --> 34:18.420
And the Lord brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand,

34:18.420 --> 34:21.420
and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness,

34:21.420 --> 34:23.420
and with signs, and with wonders,

34:23.420 --> 34:25.420
and hath brought us into this place,

34:25.420 --> 34:29.420
and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey.

34:29.420 --> 34:32.420
Now, this is kind of a long proclamation.

34:32.420 --> 34:36.420
This is like one sentence that this guy is saying

34:36.420 --> 34:38.420
to the priest, and the priest is making this declaration.

34:38.420 --> 34:41.420
But it's kind of important to think about where you come from.

34:41.420 --> 34:45.420
And if we think about this particular, you know, statement,

34:45.420 --> 34:49.420
they are giving recognition to the fact that Abraham left.

34:49.420 --> 34:53.420
He was basically this Syrian that's leaving Syria,

34:53.420 --> 34:55.420
leaving his father's land,

34:55.420 --> 34:59.420
sojourning in a land that he never truly inherited.

34:59.420 --> 35:03.420
Then his descendants, when we go through Isaac and Jacob,

35:03.420 --> 35:08.420
Jacob then getting renamed Israel, they journey into Egypt.

35:08.420 --> 35:12.420
While in Egypt, the Bible is recounting how the Egyptians

35:12.420 --> 35:15.420
evil and treated them for 400 years.

35:15.420 --> 35:17.420
They were there for 430.

35:17.420 --> 35:19.420
The first 30 were great.

35:19.420 --> 35:21.420
It was like the first 30 years of AI were great.

35:21.420 --> 35:22.420
No, I'm just kidding.

35:22.420 --> 35:24.420
It's like the first 30 years were good,

35:24.420 --> 35:27.420
and then the next 400 were very evil.

35:27.420 --> 35:30.420
And they were enslaved in great bondage.

35:30.420 --> 35:33.420
And it took God with a mighty strong hand,

35:33.420 --> 35:37.420
and as it's described, great terribleness and many signs,

35:37.420 --> 35:40.420
to deliver them out of Egypt.

35:40.420 --> 35:42.420
Then they wandered into the wilderness for 40 years.

35:42.420 --> 35:44.420
We kind of skipped over that point.

35:44.420 --> 35:46.420
We didn't want to bring up that part of the story.

35:46.420 --> 35:48.420
And then it's just like now we're in the promised land.

35:48.420 --> 35:52.420
And so they're trying to remember, hey, this is why I'm here.

35:52.420 --> 35:54.420
I got here because God delivered me,

35:54.420 --> 35:56.420
and God brought me from a dark place,

35:56.420 --> 35:58.420
and God's delivered our family,

35:58.420 --> 36:00.420
and we were going to perish as a people group,

36:00.420 --> 36:03.420
but God has greatly multiplied us and blessed us.

36:03.420 --> 36:07.420
And so as a result, you're basically just paying your homage,

36:07.420 --> 36:09.420
you're paying your respects,

36:09.420 --> 36:12.420
you're paying back to God what he's done unto you.

36:12.420 --> 36:15.420
He's blessed you greatly by multiplying you as a people,

36:15.420 --> 36:17.420
by allowing you to inherit a land

36:17.420 --> 36:20.420
that you didn't even really cultivate yourself.

36:20.420 --> 36:21.420
It was cultivated for you.

36:21.420 --> 36:23.420
Many of the cities were built for you.

36:23.420 --> 36:26.420
And yet they're getting to receive just great blessings

36:26.420 --> 36:30.420
from these things, and so they're paying their tithes

36:30.420 --> 36:34.420
unto the Levite, but ultimately it's dedicated unto God.

36:34.420 --> 36:38.420
We understand that men here that die receive tithes,

36:38.420 --> 36:40.420
but there he receives them.

36:40.420 --> 36:42.420
And this is what's being quoted in the book of Hebrews

36:42.420 --> 36:44.420
about the principle of tithing,

36:44.420 --> 36:46.420
is that you're basically blessing the Lord.

36:46.420 --> 36:48.420
Because by blessing the Levite, you're blessing the house of God,

36:48.420 --> 36:50.420
you're blessing the service of God,

36:50.420 --> 36:52.420
and you're allowing the name of God to be spread throughout the earth

36:52.420 --> 36:55.420
and for people to glorify God and to praise God

36:55.420 --> 36:59.420
and to sing about God and the sacrifices of God are to go well.

36:59.420 --> 37:02.420
And so these Old Testament principles still would carry forward

37:02.420 --> 37:05.420
into the New Testament that we should at least consider

37:05.420 --> 37:06.420
where we've come from.

37:06.420 --> 37:08.420
We should consider what God has done for us,

37:08.420 --> 37:11.420
and we should still go to the local church,

37:11.420 --> 37:13.420
and we should still pay our tithes to the local church.

37:13.420 --> 37:17.420
Yeah, and here men receive tithes, but there he receives them.

37:17.420 --> 37:18.420
And we're really blessing God,

37:18.420 --> 37:21.420
and we're paying back to God what he's given us.

37:21.420 --> 37:24.420
And while we don't have the same exact story

37:24.420 --> 37:26.420
as the children of Israel, you know, in many cases,

37:26.420 --> 37:28.420
we have some pretty cool stories too.

37:28.420 --> 37:33.420
I mean, you could argue that we were a Christian ready to perish in Europe

37:33.420 --> 37:36.420
with the Catholic oppression and the Dark Ages

37:36.420 --> 37:42.420
and just the heavy hand that was on people in Spain

37:42.420 --> 37:46.420
and all of Great Britain and Germany and all these different areas.

37:46.420 --> 37:49.420
I mean, you wanted to have a Bible, you were going to be killed.

37:49.420 --> 37:52.420
You wanted to be able to read the Bible,

37:52.420 --> 37:55.420
you wanted to be able to teach your children to memorize Scripture.

37:55.420 --> 37:57.420
You would be killed, you would be slaughtered.

37:57.420 --> 38:00.420
And it took brave men like William Tyndale and others

38:00.420 --> 38:03.420
to stand up against this, to fight against this,

38:03.420 --> 38:06.420
to translate the Bible, to turn it into English,

38:06.420 --> 38:09.420
and to basically change the culture so much

38:09.420 --> 38:12.420
that even the King of England made it legal

38:12.420 --> 38:14.420
and allowed the English Bible to be made,

38:14.420 --> 38:17.420
finally culminating in the King James Bible

38:17.420 --> 38:18.420
that we finally have today.

38:18.420 --> 38:22.420
We have brave men and women who traveled across the ocean

38:22.420 --> 38:25.420
to form a nation in America for religious liberty.

38:25.420 --> 38:28.420
I know that, you know, history books will try to give you

38:28.420 --> 38:30.420
secular reasons for America being formed,

38:30.420 --> 38:34.420
but let me explain to you, it was primarily for religious liberty

38:34.420 --> 38:37.420
and for people to be able to read the Bible for themselves

38:37.420 --> 38:40.420
and have church based on the Bible and not tradition.

38:40.420 --> 38:44.420
And look, the Orthodox and the Catholic want you to believe

38:44.420 --> 38:47.420
that tradition is superior to the Bible, but it's lies.

38:47.420 --> 38:50.420
We do believe in sola scriptura.

38:50.420 --> 38:53.420
Yeah, I do believe that the final authority is the Bible

38:53.420 --> 38:56.420
and that the Bible should be able to challenge any tradition

38:56.420 --> 38:59.420
and that I'm not going to allow tradition to tell me

38:59.420 --> 39:01.420
what the Bible says, I'm going to let the Bible tell me

39:01.420 --> 39:04.420
what tradition is and which traditions I'll accept

39:04.420 --> 39:07.420
and which traditions I will reject.

39:07.420 --> 39:09.420
Yes, I will accept the tradition of baptism.

39:09.420 --> 39:12.420
Yes, I will accept the tradition of faith alone.

39:12.420 --> 39:15.420
Yes, I will accept the King James Bible as the tradition

39:15.420 --> 39:18.420
of the right Bible, of the Holy Bible, of God's Word.

39:18.420 --> 39:21.420
Yeah, and I also will reject their transubstantiation

39:21.420 --> 39:23.420
that comes from the Catholic Church.

39:23.420 --> 39:26.420
I will reject the tradition of the Pope.

39:26.420 --> 39:29.420
I will reject calling some man a father.

39:29.420 --> 39:32.420
You know, it's interesting, they always want to go back

39:32.420 --> 39:35.420
and call people of antiquity the church fathers.

39:35.420 --> 39:37.420
Isn't it interesting they call them fathers

39:37.420 --> 39:39.420
when the Bible says call no man father?

39:39.420 --> 39:42.420
And then of course they elevate church fathers

39:42.420 --> 39:44.420
above the Bible.

39:44.420 --> 39:46.420
And people say, well, but you don't understand

39:46.420 --> 39:48.420
the first thousand years of church history

39:48.420 --> 39:51.420
which church father said King James anything.

39:51.420 --> 39:53.420
It's like, I don't care because you first of all

39:53.420 --> 39:55.420
called them a father and they're not my father.

39:55.420 --> 39:57.420
I have God the Father.

39:57.420 --> 40:01.420
And secondly, yeah, it's interesting to just cherry pick

40:01.420 --> 40:04.420
Catholic priests only and then say which one of them

40:04.420 --> 40:06.420
believe like a Baptist.

40:06.420 --> 40:08.420
I'm shocked that none of them do because they're all

40:08.420 --> 40:10.420
Catholic priests, right?

40:10.420 --> 40:12.420
I mean, today if you said, hey, find me a Catholic priest

40:12.420 --> 40:15.420
that believes like you guys, oh, can't find it.

40:15.420 --> 40:17.420
Yeah, that's not shocking that when we go through back

40:17.420 --> 40:20.420
through history and we're looking at Catholic priests

40:20.420 --> 40:23.420
that we don't magically find a bunch of Catholic priests

40:23.420 --> 40:25.420
that believe exactly like we do.

40:25.420 --> 40:27.420
Yeah, that's pretty obvious.

40:27.420 --> 40:28.420
It's a red herring.

40:28.420 --> 40:30.420
It's something that they try to disguise

40:30.420 --> 40:31.420
and confuse you with.

40:31.420 --> 40:33.420
No, no, no, we should submit to the Bible

40:33.420 --> 40:35.420
and the Word of God and you know, praise God

40:35.420 --> 40:39.420
for people that journey to America to start new churches

40:39.420 --> 40:41.420
and to start Baptist churches.

40:41.420 --> 40:43.420
And then we can have a heritage of being Baptist.

40:43.420 --> 40:48.420
First Baptist is John Smith and it was not necessarily

40:48.420 --> 40:49.420
in Germany.

40:49.420 --> 40:51.420
It was a little bit north of that.

40:51.420 --> 40:54.420
And what is the, I'm forgetting it,

40:54.420 --> 40:56.420
it's in between UK and Germany.

40:56.420 --> 40:59.420
The guy who visited me is Dutch, the Dutch.

40:59.420 --> 41:01.420
Netherlands, yes, sorry, the Netherlands.

41:01.420 --> 41:04.420
The first Baptist church supposedly throughout history

41:04.420 --> 41:06.420
was by John Smith in the Netherlands.

41:06.420 --> 41:07.420
He was Dutch.

41:07.420 --> 41:10.420
And then, of course, it gets attributed to Roger Smith.

41:10.420 --> 41:13.420
Which is in America in Rhode Island.

41:13.420 --> 41:15.420
Now, that church still exists today,

41:15.420 --> 41:17.420
but it doesn't exist at the same time.

41:17.420 --> 41:19.420
It's like a woman pastor and they're like pro-homos

41:19.420 --> 41:20.420
or something.

41:20.420 --> 41:22.420
But, you know, that just goes to show you

41:22.420 --> 41:24.420
any church that lasts that long will be conquered

41:24.420 --> 41:26.420
by Satan or something.

41:26.420 --> 41:29.420
But, you know, unfortunately, sometimes you have to start

41:29.420 --> 41:30.420
afresh with churches.

41:30.420 --> 41:34.420
But, you know, the heritage of Baptist in America is rich.

41:34.420 --> 41:37.420
And, of course, you wonder, like, why was America

41:37.420 --> 41:40.420
so blessed by God and why did it become the superpower

41:40.420 --> 41:41.420
of the world?

41:41.420 --> 41:42.420
Let me tell you something.

41:42.420 --> 41:43.420
It's because of God's Word.

41:43.420 --> 41:46.420
It's because the nation based laws on God's Word.

41:46.420 --> 41:49.420
It was because many people in America were saved

41:49.420 --> 41:52.420
and many people in America cared about evangelism

41:52.420 --> 41:55.420
and missions and they cared about the Bible.

41:55.420 --> 41:58.420
You know, they were called Bible thumpers by the British.

41:58.420 --> 42:00.420
You know, when we had the American Revolution,

42:00.420 --> 42:03.420
the British would mock Americans for being Bible thumpers

42:03.420 --> 42:05.420
and then say, oh, you guys care about the Bible.

42:05.420 --> 42:07.420
And, of course, the British would burn churches

42:07.420 --> 42:09.420
and were not the same level of Christians.

42:09.420 --> 42:12.420
They had already apostatized much more than those in America.

42:12.420 --> 42:14.420
And, of course, now we see where they are.

42:14.420 --> 42:16.420
The British were the most powerful nation in the world

42:16.420 --> 42:17.420
at the time.

42:17.420 --> 42:18.420
Then they declined.

42:18.420 --> 42:21.420
Why did the British Empire fall and why did the American

42:21.420 --> 42:22.420
Empire rise?

42:22.420 --> 42:23.420
I'll tell you why.

42:23.420 --> 42:25.420
It's because one had respect to the Bible

42:25.420 --> 42:26.420
and the other didn't.

42:26.420 --> 42:27.420
And that's just how it is.

42:27.420 --> 42:28.420
This is how it works.

42:28.420 --> 42:30.420
So, you know, the British were the most powerful nation

42:30.420 --> 42:31.420
in the world at the time.

42:31.420 --> 42:32.420
And they declined.

42:33.420 --> 42:34.420
And that's just how it is.

42:34.420 --> 42:35.420
This is how it works.

42:35.420 --> 42:38.420
Those that give respect to the God of the Bible

42:38.420 --> 42:41.420
will be blessed and those who don't will be cursed.

42:41.420 --> 42:44.420
It's not who blesses the Middle East and a bunch of random people

42:44.420 --> 42:45.420
that call themselves Jews.

42:45.420 --> 42:48.420
No, it's those who bless God and God's Word and God's people.

42:48.420 --> 42:50.420
Those are the people that are blessed.

42:50.420 --> 42:53.420
And the people who curse God's people are cursed.

42:53.420 --> 42:55.420
That is what the Bible actually teaches.

42:55.420 --> 42:58.420
And this principle of tithing, we have to understand,

42:58.420 --> 43:00.420
it's not really just all about money.

43:00.420 --> 43:03.420
It's about like we're blessing God and then God blesses us.

43:03.420 --> 43:06.420
We're returning what God has given unto us.

43:06.420 --> 43:09.420
And unfortunately when we won't just even give him back

43:09.420 --> 43:11.420
the small percentage that he wants,

43:11.420 --> 43:13.420
well then he's not going to bless us.

43:13.420 --> 43:15.420
And when you're not giving money to God's house,

43:15.420 --> 43:17.420
well then you see God's house diminish

43:17.420 --> 43:20.420
and we see just the work of God and God's name

43:20.420 --> 43:21.420
and His glory being diminished.

43:21.420 --> 43:25.420
And it's embarrassing today that there's so many institutions

43:25.420 --> 43:27.420
that are more powerful than the church

43:27.420 --> 43:29.420
when historically it was the opposite.

43:29.420 --> 43:31.420
Historically in America, you go back far enough,

43:31.420 --> 43:34.420
the church was the most influential institution.

43:34.420 --> 43:36.420
It was the one, I mean everybody's closed on Sunday

43:36.420 --> 43:38.420
because they're going to church.

43:38.420 --> 43:41.420
You know, you didn't disrespect the church.

43:41.420 --> 43:43.420
Church excommunication was a big deal.

43:43.420 --> 43:45.420
People did not want to be thrown out of church,

43:45.420 --> 43:47.420
you know, for any reason.

43:47.420 --> 43:51.420
It was the main cultural influence of that particular society.

43:51.420 --> 43:53.420
Churches were a big deal.

43:53.420 --> 43:55.420
And it was a big part of the culture.

43:55.420 --> 43:56.420
And it was almost just a thing.

43:56.420 --> 43:58.420
You just go to church.

43:58.420 --> 44:02.420
Whereas in America today, never has it been like it is today

44:02.420 --> 44:05.420
where people are just not going to church on Sunday morning.

44:05.420 --> 44:07.420
I mean church on Sunday morning,

44:07.420 --> 44:10.420
I mean you go to work on Monday morning, it is packed.

44:10.420 --> 44:12.420
I mean it is, the highway is packed.

44:12.420 --> 44:14.420
You can't hardly get up and down the road.

44:14.420 --> 44:18.420
On Sunday morning, you could skateboard down the highway.

44:18.420 --> 44:21.420
You could take a nap on some highways.

44:21.420 --> 44:22.420
Why?

44:22.420 --> 44:27.420
It's kind of embarrassing that people just don't care about church.

44:27.420 --> 44:30.420
It's kind of a shame that we are supposedly a Christian nation,

44:30.420 --> 44:33.420
yet, you know, we are all the Christians.

44:33.420 --> 44:36.420
And of course, you know, people get mad about all the immigrants

44:36.420 --> 44:37.420
coming into our country.

44:37.420 --> 44:39.420
And they are mad about the wrong reasons.

44:39.420 --> 44:40.420
They are mad about skin color.

44:40.420 --> 44:42.420
You know, they should be mad,

44:42.420 --> 44:45.420
but they should be mad because they are bringing in false religion.

44:45.420 --> 44:47.420
And the false religion in our country is a shame.

44:47.420 --> 44:50.420
It is embarrassing that we now have mosque in our country.

44:50.420 --> 44:54.420
It is embarrassing that we have Hinduism and Muslims

44:54.420 --> 44:56.420
and all this other nonsense in our country.

44:56.420 --> 44:57.420
It is embarrassing.

44:57.420 --> 44:58.420
It is a shame.

44:58.420 --> 44:59.420
It is not blessing our country.

44:59.420 --> 45:00.420
It is making our country worse.

45:00.420 --> 45:01.420
It is making it weak.

45:01.420 --> 45:03.420
It is, you know, even being a Catholic.

45:03.420 --> 45:05.420
I know this is not popular today,

45:05.420 --> 45:08.420
but in the state of Georgia, it was illegal to be a Catholic

45:08.420 --> 45:11.420
until almost the 19th or the 18th, I'm sorry, the 20th century.

45:11.420 --> 45:13.420
Yeah, I'm trying to get my numbers right.

45:13.420 --> 45:17.420
It is like 1890 or something with the first Catholic church in Georgia

45:17.420 --> 45:20.420
because it was illegal to be a Catholic in the state of Georgia.

45:20.420 --> 45:25.420
You know, you look at Baptist churches in what we call the Bible Belt

45:25.420 --> 45:29.420
or the southwest region of America, and there are a dime a dozen.

45:29.420 --> 45:30.420
There are everywhere.

45:30.420 --> 45:32.420
I was looking at North Carolina.

45:32.420 --> 45:34.420
I think North Carolina had almost the same number

45:34.420 --> 45:36.420
of independent Baptist churches as Texas.

45:36.420 --> 45:42.420
I mean, there is just like so many Baptists in that part of the world.

45:42.420 --> 45:47.420
And of course, you say like, oh, I wonder why America had been blessed.

45:47.420 --> 45:49.420
I'm telling you, it's because of Christianity.

45:49.420 --> 45:51.420
You want to know why Southern food is so good?

45:51.420 --> 45:53.420
It's the Baptists, you know what I mean?

45:54.420 --> 45:59.420
But at the end of the day, you know, we have to recognize that our success,

45:59.420 --> 46:05.420
our wealth, our prosperity, our good food, our safety, it's coming from God.

46:05.420 --> 46:08.420
And so many people just don't recognize this,

46:08.420 --> 46:11.420
and they don't want to just keep paying for

46:11.420 --> 46:14.420
and funneling money through the right system, which is God's system.

46:14.420 --> 46:17.420
And you know, you think about this like, oh, well, God wants to take money from me.

46:17.420 --> 46:19.420
No, God wants to bless you even more.

46:19.420 --> 46:22.420
Because it's like one of the few things that he says

46:22.420 --> 46:27.420
if you actually test him or try him, he's going to basically bless you even more than you realize.

46:27.420 --> 46:29.420
But they're recognizing the blessing.

46:29.420 --> 46:33.420
They're saying, oh, I realized where I was, and now I see where I'm at.

46:33.420 --> 46:38.420
And so then I need to basically honor God and giving the glory to God

46:38.420 --> 46:40.420
and recognizing that it's God that got me here.

46:40.420 --> 46:42.420
You know, we could all take our own personal journey.

46:42.420 --> 46:45.420
Maybe just think about yourself before you're either saved

46:45.420 --> 46:47.420
or before you're really serving God.

46:47.420 --> 46:50.420
And then where God has taken you through life, and you should say,

46:50.420 --> 46:52.420
Wow, thank you, God.

46:52.420 --> 46:55.420
Thank you for getting me saved or thank you for bringing me the spouse that I have

46:55.420 --> 46:59.420
or the kids that I have or the home that I have or the jobs that I have.

46:59.420 --> 47:04.420
You know, in many cases, I believe that the jobs I have are divine appointments,

47:04.420 --> 47:08.420
and God has greatly blessed me to have the jobs that I have.

47:08.420 --> 47:11.420
You know, everybody complains.

47:11.420 --> 47:12.420
I'm not saying everybody.

47:12.420 --> 47:13.420
I sometimes exaggerate.

47:13.420 --> 47:15.420
A lot of people complain.

47:15.420 --> 47:19.420
They act like having a job in this world and being new IFB is really hard.

47:19.420 --> 47:20.420
And I get it.

47:20.420 --> 47:23.420
OK, and there have been some people in our church have been legitimately fired.

47:23.420 --> 47:28.420
But I kid you not say that I've had multiple bosses that know who I am,

47:28.420 --> 47:33.420
know I pass through this church, know everything about me, and I still have my job.

47:33.420 --> 47:36.420
He said, How is that possible?

47:36.420 --> 47:37.420
I think it's only because of God.

47:37.420 --> 47:39.420
Like, God is just giving me favor.

47:39.420 --> 47:43.420
God's given me an opportunity to basically have employment and work.

47:43.420 --> 47:46.420
And you say like, Well, I'm afraid.

47:46.420 --> 47:48.420
I'm afraid of going to a good church.

47:48.420 --> 47:49.420
I'm afraid of being a soul winner.

47:49.420 --> 47:51.420
I'm afraid of people knowing who I am.

47:51.420 --> 47:52.420
Well, you know what?

47:52.420 --> 47:54.420
Why don't you be afraid of God?

47:54.420 --> 48:00.420
And at the end of the day, God can perform miracles and God can bless you and God can help you.

48:00.420 --> 48:02.420
And yeah, I'm not saying you can have every job.

48:02.420 --> 48:04.420
You might not be able to work for YouTube.

48:04.420 --> 48:11.420
OK, but at the end of the time, at the end of the day, you will be able to provide for your family and do right.

48:11.420 --> 48:12.420
And look, I use discretion.

48:12.420 --> 48:15.420
I don't necessarily come in the job interview and say like,

48:15.420 --> 48:16.420
You know, it's probably not the right timing.

48:16.420 --> 48:17.420
I get it.

48:17.420 --> 48:21.420
But at the end of the day, it's just like, Hey, you don't have to hide being a Christian.

48:21.420 --> 48:27.420
You know, it's frustrating how much we have to hide or people hide who they are in America.

48:27.420 --> 48:29.420
Can't we be bold?

48:29.420 --> 48:33.420
You know, it's like, Hey, you're having a conference called the Anti-Israel Conference.

48:33.420 --> 48:34.420
That's scary.

48:34.420 --> 48:36.420
You know, that's a provocative name.

48:36.420 --> 48:38.420
Why can't I just be honest about who I am?

48:38.420 --> 48:41.420
I just don't really support the anti-Israel conference.

48:41.420 --> 48:43.420
Why can't I just be honest about who I am?

48:43.420 --> 48:49.420
I just don't really support a country that's dedicated to an anti-Christ religion.

48:49.420 --> 48:54.420
Like, does that not seem like kind of reasonable?

48:54.420 --> 49:03.420
I mean, if it's just like, Hey, there's one nation in this world that hates Jesus more than any other nation and blasphemous name more than any other religion

49:03.420 --> 49:09.420
and is described in the Bible as the worst religion and the most evil anti-Christ religion.

49:09.420 --> 49:11.420
And I just don't like that country.

49:11.420 --> 49:13.420
It's like, how is that unreasonable?

49:13.420 --> 49:14.420
How is that?

49:14.420 --> 49:16.420
You know, it's unreasonable is to say, You know what?

49:16.420 --> 49:18.420
I think we should bless them.

49:18.420 --> 49:20.420
I think we should give them money.

49:20.420 --> 49:23.420
I think we should hold them as more special than any other people.

49:23.420 --> 49:29.420
I think we should respect persons when God literally says not to respect persons.

49:29.420 --> 49:31.420
How would that make sense?

49:31.420 --> 49:38.420
You know, it doesn't make any kind of sense to love God's enemies when the Bible says, Shouldest thou help the ungodly and love them that hate the Lord?

49:38.420 --> 49:41.420
If they're not those people, then who are?

49:41.420 --> 49:42.420
Who is it the Bible's forbidding?

49:42.420 --> 49:46.420
I mean, the Bible literally says, Give not that which is holy unto the dogs.

49:46.420 --> 49:49.420
Who are the dogs?

49:49.420 --> 49:53.420
I mean, does not the Bible say, Beware of dogs in the New Testament?

49:53.420 --> 49:58.420
I mean, doesn't the Bible say that there's some people calling themselves Jews and they're the synagogue of Satan?

49:58.420 --> 50:03.420
Please riddle me what Revelation is talking about and who those people are.

50:03.420 --> 50:04.420
OK.

50:05.420 --> 50:11.420
Oh, but I think if I just get like most churches, they're teaching you to give money to Israel, you'll be blessed.

50:11.420 --> 50:12.420
No, no, no.

50:12.420 --> 50:14.420
You give money to the Israel of God.

50:14.420 --> 50:17.420
You give money to the Church of God and you'll be blessed.

50:17.420 --> 50:23.420
Not to a religion that hates you and hates your savior and is not interested in the things of God.

50:23.420 --> 50:28.420
And as a result of that, they're also filled with all unrighteousness.

50:28.420 --> 50:30.420
OK, you want to know some wicked people?

50:30.420 --> 50:33.420
People that are of the religion of Israel.

50:33.420 --> 50:34.420
Judaism.

50:34.420 --> 50:38.420
Isn't it interesting that you have the southern kingdom of Judah and then you have Israel.

50:38.420 --> 50:40.420
Judah is like the more godly one.

50:40.420 --> 50:42.420
And then they went with the name Israel.

50:42.420 --> 50:44.420
It's like, why don't you go with Judah?

50:44.420 --> 50:55.420
It's like, no, we want to be the northern kingdom, which just proves that we don't love God and we're turned away from God and we're going to be evil and destroyed because Israel was destroyed eventually.

50:55.420 --> 50:57.420
And they will be again.

50:57.420 --> 51:01.420
Now, in this particular passage, though, they're making this proclamation.

51:01.420 --> 51:02.420
They're remembering where they're coming from.

51:02.420 --> 51:05.420
And, you know, praise God for some of the kids in here and some of the people in here.

51:05.420 --> 51:07.420
Hey, they're raised in a good home.

51:07.420 --> 51:13.420
They got saved in an early age and they kind of don't know a life outside of being blessed by God.

51:13.420 --> 51:21.420
You know, those of us that do know, we need to make sure to remember and take take note of what has happened.

51:21.420 --> 51:24.420
Tell our kids about this and try to remind our kids.

51:24.420 --> 51:30.420
Because I think sometimes you can grow up in a blessed situation and you don't realize why you're blessed.

51:30.420 --> 51:34.420
And that's unfortunately what is a common pattern in the Bible.

51:34.420 --> 51:43.420
You know, if you are a kid that is being raised by good parents and you've always been in a good church and you've always had what's right, you need to be really careful to believe the Bible.

51:43.420 --> 51:52.420
Because most of the time, the people in the Bible, they forget and they don't actually realize why they're so blessed and why their life is so easy.

51:52.420 --> 52:03.420
And they go out and they decide to mess with sin and to get backslid in and to challenge all the doctrines that have been established for them and go against the upbringing that they've been had.

52:03.420 --> 52:06.420
And you know what? It always turns into a train wreck for them.

52:06.420 --> 52:13.420
And we see this as a common theme that people that are raised with blessings can sometimes go spoiled brats.

52:13.420 --> 52:18.420
And unfortunately, America is filled with spoiled brats today and we don't realize why we live in such a great nation.

52:18.420 --> 52:20.420
We don't realize why we're so blessed.

52:20.420 --> 52:29.420
We don't realize why we have the things that we have and why our country exists the way it does and why we have laws and why we have even the government that we have.

52:29.420 --> 52:32.420
And many people are very frustrated with the government we have.

52:32.420 --> 52:38.420
But let me tell you something. If we had a monarch today with the current people in charge, it would be worse.

52:38.420 --> 52:41.420
We want to get mad at the political systems that we have.

52:41.420 --> 52:47.420
But let me explain something to you. If we just said, hey, we're going to have one guy in charge of America and he can do whatever he wants.

52:47.420 --> 52:49.420
Boy, it'd be way worse.

52:49.420 --> 52:51.420
It would be way more tyrannical.

52:51.420 --> 52:56.420
You think there'd be free speech? You think you'd be able to even come to a church like this?

52:56.420 --> 53:00.420
Hell no. You would not. You don't understand.

53:00.420 --> 53:05.420
Okay. Communism destroys. These other political systems can destroy their evil.

53:05.420 --> 53:11.420
And look, I get it that if you gave a good person full authority as a king, things could go well.

53:11.420 --> 53:15.420
But here's the thing. As soon as you give a bad guy that same authority, it's way worse.

53:15.420 --> 53:18.420
Look at Pharaoh. Look at Egypt. That's what happened.

53:18.420 --> 53:22.420
You know, praise God for our political system because it's kept evil at bay.

53:22.420 --> 53:26.420
As much evil as we have in this nation, as much evil and corruption as we have in this nation,

53:26.420 --> 53:32.420
our political system has limited their ability to actually hurt and harm us as much as they would love to.

53:32.420 --> 53:37.420
They would love to do more. They would love to do even more evil stuff in our nation, in our country.

53:37.420 --> 53:41.420
And you say, well, how do you fix it? Well, you can't fix the political system.

53:41.420 --> 53:44.420
You have to fix the culture and you have to fix the people.

53:44.420 --> 53:48.420
You have to get people saved. Without getting people saved, it doesn't even matter.

53:48.420 --> 53:51.420
Then you have to get them to King James Bible. Then you have to actually teach them fundamental doctrine.

53:51.420 --> 53:55.420
And you have to have real revival in your nation. That's the only cure. That's the only fix.

53:55.420 --> 53:59.420
Now, will that ever happen? I don't know. But I'm going to at least try.

53:59.420 --> 54:04.420
But you know what? Even if we can't fix our nation, you can try your state.

54:04.420 --> 54:09.420
And even if you can't fix your state, you can fix your city. And if you can't fix your city, you can fix your church.

54:09.420 --> 54:11.420
And if you can't fix your church, you can fix your home. Okay.

54:11.420 --> 54:15.420
But first we've got to fix our homes. Then we're going to fix our church.

54:15.420 --> 54:19.420
Then we're going to fix our area. And then we're going to keep going outward and outward and outward.

54:19.420 --> 54:22.420
But here's the thing. As a church, we can still be blessed.

54:22.420 --> 54:26.420
We can still live in Goshen while the whole world lives in Egypt.

54:26.420 --> 54:31.420
Why? If we bring in the tithes and we honor God and we're putting him first.

54:31.420 --> 54:37.420
He says in verse 10, And now, behold, I have brought the first fruits of the land, which thou, O Lord, has given me.

54:37.420 --> 54:48.420
And thou shalt set it before the Lord thy God and worship before the Lord thy God, and thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the Lord thy God has given unto thee, and in thine house, thou and the Levite, and the stranger that is among you.

54:48.420 --> 54:52.420
You know, I think this is a good principle. And my dad's always been really big on attitude.

54:52.420 --> 54:58.420
But, you know, the Bible teaches us to that we should think about things that are pure and lovely and honest and good and just.

54:58.420 --> 55:02.420
But in general, just having a positive attitude is just a better way to live your life.

55:02.420 --> 55:07.420
You can think about all the negative or you can think about all the good and notice what God is trying to tell you to do right here.

55:07.420 --> 55:13.420
He says in verse 11, And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the Lord thy God has given thee.

55:13.420 --> 55:21.420
You know, we have a song in our hymnal saying, count your blessings, count your blessings, name them one by one.

55:21.420 --> 55:30.420
Why are we doing that? Because that's the right way to live your life is thinking about the good things that God's done for you, counting your blessings, being reminded.

55:30.420 --> 55:37.420
And then it'll change your attitude, mind and affections. If you think only about the negative in your life, you can be very depressed.

55:37.420 --> 55:43.420
I think any person could be depressed in 30 seconds. If you want to be depressed,

55:43.420 --> 55:49.420
you can just think about every negative thing that's going on in the world, going on in your life, going on in your family's life.

55:49.420 --> 55:53.420
And you could probably be pretty upset pretty fast. I mean, there's a lot of negative things.

55:53.420 --> 55:59.420
I mean, in this world, just the world alone, it's just horrific. I mean, if we just wanted to sit here and just dwell on how bad the

55:59.420 --> 56:05.420
economy is or how bad our political system is or how much conflict there is in the Middle East or, you know,

56:05.420 --> 56:10.420
just the problems with human trafficking in our society, how much divorce is in our society,

56:10.420 --> 56:18.420
let alone the problems that people have in their actual real lives, real problems with drugs and alcohol and divorce and adultery and fornication.

56:18.420 --> 56:23.420
And just they're frustrated with whatever life circumstances they have. Maybe they're frustrated with their job.

56:23.420 --> 56:29.420
The job seems like a dead end job or maybe the job is going to be replaced by AI in five minutes or something, you know,

56:29.420 --> 56:34.420
or maybe they feel like they are not being recognized for the attention that they're doing.

56:34.420 --> 56:42.420
Maybe you just you're frustrated with your job and you're not working hard because it's just frustrating and you're just frustrated because you just burn out at life.

56:42.420 --> 56:50.420
You just burn out at the grind. You just burn out at working for the man. You burn out for the commute alone.

56:50.420 --> 57:01.420
You're burned out at taxes and inflation and everything rising and just being just a constant grind and the taxes and you're just like that Magga's dead and I voted for Trump and he wasn't what I thought.

57:01.420 --> 57:06.420
You know, praise God, I didn't vote for Trump. So just just making it clear.

57:06.420 --> 57:11.420
But if you did, I could see just being depressed fast.

57:11.420 --> 57:15.420
Being depressed. I mean, look, you could be depressed all day long if you want.

57:16.420 --> 57:27.420
And we haven't even started talking about your actual problems, your actual backslidings, your actual temptations, your disappointments, your spouse's disappointments, your kids disappointments, all the annoying things going on in your life.

57:27.420 --> 57:34.420
Everybody's got drama. Everybody's got conflict. Everybody's got someone that's annoying them right now.

57:34.420 --> 57:38.420
We can just sit here and just just our lives awful.

57:38.420 --> 57:44.420
And then they, you know, just kids in general. I mean, just man, all the diapers.

57:44.420 --> 57:49.420
I'm just thinking like, how does my toddler, you know, poop herself five times a day?

57:49.420 --> 57:53.420
Or it's like it's just like every diaper is a poopy diaper.

57:53.420 --> 57:57.420
And it's just like it's so annoying. It's just like, why is it every diaper?

57:57.420 --> 58:09.420
You know, just like every day, just another one and another one and they wake up and then they throw up and then they they have a blowout and then you have another one throwing up on the other one and the other one screaming.

58:09.420 --> 58:14.420
Someone's fighting this one and just punching this one and you're just like, ah, and they're always screaming.

58:14.420 --> 58:23.420
Someone's always crying. Okay. Someone's always mad. Someone's always fighting. Someone's always envious. Someone's always hungry.

58:23.420 --> 58:32.420
Okay. Someone's always sneaking food out of the cabinet. Someone's always disobeying mom and dad. Someone's always tattling on someone from disobeying mom and dad.

58:32.420 --> 58:38.420
Mom is just losing her mind because who wouldn't? And it's just like this is life.

58:38.420 --> 58:41.420
Okay. It's so easy to just be wrapped up on that.

58:41.420 --> 58:47.420
And look, you don't even know going to work. This is the constant grind of just, you know, now it's DEI.

58:47.420 --> 58:56.420
Now you have to do some inclusion training. And now now we got this new, you know, Muslim that you have to work with or this new femme tard woman that has to be your boss or something that came in.

58:57.420 --> 59:08.420
And now we got bought out by a corporate and corporate wants to change all the rules and you have to, you know, go with the times and your boss wants you to work late and your coworker screws up and people are stealing and lying.

59:08.420 --> 59:13.420
I mean, look, there is the constant grind of life is rough.

59:13.420 --> 59:15.420
There's no escape.

59:15.420 --> 59:24.420
But when you come to church, God's saying, forget all of that for a moment and remember all the good stuff that God has done for you.

59:24.420 --> 59:31.420
Remember all the good and remember all the blessings and remember, hey, you still live in America, folks.

59:31.420 --> 59:40.420
You know, you don't live in some third world country. We have to go in mine or for this for your some cell phone or some AI data center.

59:40.420 --> 59:48.420
We have to go and break your back and breathe in all this fine micro dust. There's no workers comp in Africa.

59:48.420 --> 59:51.420
There's no comfortable AC car to drive into work.

59:51.420 --> 59:54.420
There's no HR woman to complain to.

59:54.420 --> 59:57.420
You wouldn't anyways, but you don't even have that option.

59:57.420 --> 01:00:04.420
You don't have the luxuries of all of the food and the just the safety.

01:00:04.420 --> 01:00:08.420
I mean, there's so many countries in this world where they could die every night.

01:00:08.420 --> 01:00:12.420
You could live in South Africa as a white man today.

01:00:12.420 --> 01:00:18.420
And the threat of just a bunch of people just coming on your farm and just killing you in the night is super high right now.

01:00:18.420 --> 01:00:30.420
There's a super high risk of, you know, white men just being slaughtered and their whole family being just just brutally tortured and horrible things happening to them in the night by just living in South Africa.

01:00:30.420 --> 01:00:35.420
You live in Europe. The Muslim threat is way worse than America.

01:00:35.420 --> 01:00:38.420
I mean, the Muslim threat in Europe is horrific.

01:00:38.420 --> 01:00:45.420
There's almost no consequences when they violate people, when they steal from people, when they do evil into people.

01:00:45.420 --> 01:00:52.420
You want to live in China. You want to live in North Korea where you get three grains of rice for a meal.

01:00:52.420 --> 01:00:58.420
North Korea starves its its women so much they force them in the military.

01:00:58.420 --> 01:01:00.420
How many of you ladies want to go in the military?

01:01:00.420 --> 01:01:03.420
It's like, oh, being a fundamentalist, you know, wife sounds scary.

01:01:03.420 --> 01:01:06.420
How about North Korean military?

01:01:06.420 --> 01:01:16.420
And the women in the North Korean military, they're fed so little that they literally stop having their cycles because their body is literally shutting down just in self preservation.

01:01:16.420 --> 01:01:18.420
That's how bad it is.

01:01:18.420 --> 01:01:24.420
It's so bad that they're basically just trying to find rats and stuff just to eat, just to survive.

01:01:24.420 --> 01:01:26.420
Eating food on the black market.

01:01:26.420 --> 01:01:34.420
They have to usually resort to prostitution or other means in order to just survive because the situation is so horrific.

01:01:34.420 --> 01:01:40.420
I mean, you think that your life is so hard, you don't even understand how blessed you are to live in America.

01:01:40.420 --> 01:01:42.420
You don't understand how blessed you are to live in Texas.

01:01:42.420 --> 01:01:45.420
You don't understand how blessed you are to have a King James Bible.

01:01:45.420 --> 01:01:51.420
People that had to have Bibles taped underneath their stool so that they could read it.

01:01:51.420 --> 01:02:00.420
But whenever the police or whoever would come and knock on their door, they could just flip over the stool real quick and sit on it like Rachel with the idols and try to pretend like they didn't have a Bible.

01:02:00.420 --> 01:02:03.420
Pretend like they weren't reading it.

01:02:03.420 --> 01:02:05.420
You know, read books about communism.

01:02:05.420 --> 01:02:07.420
Read about, you know, the Bridget Endow.

01:02:07.420 --> 01:02:15.420
Highly recommend the book where parents had to choose if they were going to discipline their kids or not according to the Bible, if they were going to spank their kids or not.

01:02:15.420 --> 01:02:29.420
And how they had this like extreme dilemma because if they spanked their kids and then their kid went to school that day or the next day and said, hey, my parents spanked me, their parents would be put in prison for 10 years or killed.

01:02:30.420 --> 01:02:34.420
You think it's hard to spank your kids right now because of CPS.

01:02:34.420 --> 01:02:52.420
What about if you lived in a communist country where if you did it one time gently and your kid just says something at school, you would be put in a gulag for 10 years or killed, tortured brutally, stripped away from your whole family.

01:02:52.420 --> 01:02:54.420
That's that's kind of trusting.

01:02:54.420 --> 01:02:58.420
You know, it's really hard for the parents to want to do that, but they wanted to obey God rather than men.

01:02:58.420 --> 01:03:02.420
And so they'd have to spank the kids and they'd put their entire life in their child's hands.

01:03:02.420 --> 01:03:13.420
A child, which may may not even be malicious, but just accidentally say the wrong thing at school or just, you know, make a mistake and say something, not even trying to harm their parents, but literally sealing their parents fate.

01:03:13.420 --> 01:03:17.420
You don't even understand how blessed you are.

01:03:17.420 --> 01:03:20.420
You don't understand how depraved an evil man can be.

01:03:20.420 --> 01:03:22.420
You don't understand what slavery is really like.

01:03:22.420 --> 01:03:29.420
But the people that understood slavery, they're getting here and they're giving ties to God and they're saying, I remember what it was like to be in Egypt.

01:03:29.420 --> 01:03:32.420
I remember what it was like to be a slave.

01:03:32.420 --> 01:03:40.420
I remember what it was like to experience real oppression, real destruction, real death, real consequences.

01:03:40.420 --> 01:03:41.420
And so I want to bless God.

01:03:41.420 --> 01:03:45.420
But, you know, us spoiled Brat Americans today, we don't even understand.

01:03:46.420 --> 01:04:02.420
You know, it's frustrating because you're just preaching to an apathetic crowd today because they're just bread and circuses is just docile their entire country and to just just stupid idiots, just NPCs, non playable characters, and they don't even know what they're doing.

01:04:02.420 --> 01:04:07.420
And they're just going after fornication and they're going to their own destruction, folks.

01:04:07.420 --> 01:04:12.420
But, you know, at least if God's people would turn to the Lord, he can he can hold off the judgment.

01:04:12.420 --> 01:04:15.420
He can hold off, you know, the pain and difficulty.

01:04:15.420 --> 01:04:18.420
And even if they won't recognize God, we have to.

01:04:18.420 --> 01:04:19.420
We should.

01:04:19.420 --> 01:04:20.420
We must.

01:04:20.420 --> 01:04:22.420
We must remember and we must rejoice in every good thing.

01:04:22.420 --> 01:04:25.420
Stop focusing on the negative and focus on the good.

01:04:25.420 --> 01:04:26.420
Focus on the freedom.

01:04:26.420 --> 01:04:28.420
Focus on the First Amendment.

01:04:28.420 --> 01:04:30.420
Focus on the King James Bible that you have in your hand.

01:04:30.420 --> 01:04:32.420
Praise God for technology.

01:04:32.420 --> 01:04:33.420
I love technology.

01:04:33.420 --> 01:04:34.420
I love cars.

01:04:34.420 --> 01:04:35.420
I love the house that I have.

01:04:35.420 --> 01:04:40.420
I love that I live in Texas and I can get to have steak, you know, when I want to and I can afford it.

01:04:40.420 --> 01:04:41.420
Right.

01:04:41.420 --> 01:04:46.420
I mean, there's the only thing holding you back from having steak every single day is just being able to afford it.

01:04:46.420 --> 01:04:47.420
Right.

01:04:47.420 --> 01:04:55.420
And honestly, if you worked super hard in our capitalistic society, you probably could eat steak every single meal if you really, really wanted to.

01:04:55.420 --> 01:04:59.420
Now, when you have seven, you have to multiply with seven kids, you know, it gets it's crazy.

01:04:59.420 --> 01:05:00.420
All right.

01:05:00.420 --> 01:05:05.420
But I'm saying you live in a nation in a country where you're so blessed, you're so blessed to have a good church.

01:05:05.420 --> 01:05:06.420
You're so blessed.

01:05:06.420 --> 01:05:09.420
I mean, so many people here have so many good friends.

01:05:09.420 --> 01:05:11.420
They have good family members.

01:05:11.420 --> 01:05:13.420
We have great soul winning opportunities.

01:05:13.420 --> 01:05:15.420
We have great missions trips.

01:05:15.420 --> 01:05:20.420
We need to be praising and thanking God on a regular basis because we have so much to be thankful for.

01:05:20.420 --> 01:05:22.420
And we are so blessed.

01:05:22.420 --> 01:05:24.420
There's so many good things.

01:05:24.420 --> 01:05:31.420
Says in verse 12, And when thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing,

01:05:32.420 --> 01:05:39.420
and has given it under the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates and be filled.

01:05:39.420 --> 01:05:48.420
Then thou shalt say before the Lord thy God, I have brought away the hallowed things out of mine house and also have given them under the Levite and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow.

01:05:48.420 --> 01:05:53.420
According to all thy commandments which thou hast commanded me, I have not transgressed thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them.

01:05:53.420 --> 01:05:59.420
I have not eaten thereof in my morning, neither have I taken away aught thereof from any unclean use,

01:05:59.420 --> 01:06:05.420
nor given aught thereof for the dead. But I have hearkened the voice of the Lord my God and have done according to all that thou hast commanded me.

01:06:05.420 --> 01:06:11.420
Now, we have to keep these in context of other verses.

01:06:11.420 --> 01:06:14.420
So before we expound this, let's remind ourselves of a few things.

01:06:14.420 --> 01:06:16.420
Go to chapter 12 for a second.

01:06:16.420 --> 01:06:18.420
Go back to chapter 12 and look at verse 17.

01:06:18.420 --> 01:06:20.420
Now this is called the year of tithing.

01:06:20.420 --> 01:06:22.420
It happens every three years.

01:06:22.420 --> 01:06:26.420
This does not mean that you only tithe every three years.

01:06:26.420 --> 01:06:33.420
What it was is it was a limit or a maxim where you could not go more than three years without tithing.

01:06:33.420 --> 01:06:36.420
But the Bible commands to tithe on a regular basis.

01:06:36.420 --> 01:06:42.420
It's just for some people it was impractical or more difficult because they lived really far away from God's house.

01:06:42.420 --> 01:06:47.420
But for them, they had to, they're obligated every three years to make sure that they tithe.

01:06:47.420 --> 01:06:51.420
Now it's said in Deuteronomy chapter 12 verse 17.

01:07:21.420 --> 01:07:25.420
So notice they're not allowed to eat wherever they want.

01:07:25.420 --> 01:07:27.420
Go to chapter 14 and look at verse 22.

01:07:27.420 --> 01:07:29.420
Chapter 14 and look at verse 22.

01:07:29.420 --> 01:07:31.420
It says in verse 22,

01:07:51.420 --> 01:07:56.420
So that thou art not able to carry it, or if the place be too far from thee, which the Lord thy God shall choose to set his name there,

01:07:56.420 --> 01:08:02.420
when the Lord thy God hath blessed thee, then thou shalt turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and thou shalt go into the place where the Lord thy God shall choose,

01:08:02.420 --> 01:08:11.420
and thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusts after, for oxen or for sheep or for wine or for strong drink or for whatsoever thy soul desireth.

01:08:11.420 --> 01:08:16.420
Thou shalt eat there before the Lord thy God, and thou shalt rejoice thou in thine household, and leave as with thy gates.

01:08:16.420 --> 01:08:19.420
Thou shalt not forsake him, for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.

01:08:19.420 --> 01:08:26.420
At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates.

01:08:26.420 --> 01:08:31.420
And the Levite, because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee, and the stranger and the father and the widow which are within thy gates,

01:08:31.420 --> 01:08:36.420
shall come and eat and be satisfied that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which is out to us.

01:08:36.420 --> 01:08:43.420
Now, I'm not sure exactly if everybody was on the same ticker or if it was like an individual basis or not.

01:08:43.420 --> 01:08:47.420
I kind of almost lean like it's probably more individual, but I could be wrong.

01:08:47.420 --> 01:08:54.420
But in general it's just tithes are being brought in at a maximum on the third year, specifically for a couple reasons.

01:08:54.420 --> 01:08:57.420
Number one, these are perishable goods. They can't last forever.

01:08:57.420 --> 01:09:02.420
So you can't necessarily hold on to them forever. You got to eventually bring them in.

01:09:02.420 --> 01:09:05.420
Additionally, though, he's trying to be practical, right?

01:09:05.420 --> 01:09:15.420
He doesn't want to necessarily make it so impractical that they're traveling so much to bring in tithe that they're not actually working the field and doing their job and everything like that.

01:09:15.420 --> 01:09:21.420
So obviously that's why you have these time limits from a practical perspective.

01:09:21.420 --> 01:09:35.420
But in general also I think from their agricultural background, you can't necessarily tithe on a daily basis because a lot of their goods are over a season or a period of time.

01:09:35.420 --> 01:09:40.420
And so their net increase isn't going to be really observed every single day.

01:09:40.420 --> 01:09:43.420
Whereas for a lot of us, we're wage workers.

01:09:43.420 --> 01:09:50.420
So we see our increase on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, something much different than perhaps they did.

01:09:50.420 --> 01:09:54.420
There's nothing wrong with tithing on a regular basis or a more often basis.

01:09:54.420 --> 01:09:56.420
That's what's practical. That's what's realistic.

01:09:56.420 --> 01:10:00.420
They just literally can't even show up at the house of God on a regular basis.

01:10:00.420 --> 01:10:04.420
So a lot of them are doing this on a third year basis.

01:10:04.420 --> 01:10:09.420
It would make sense to me that most likely, again, you could argue this is all happening simultaneously.

01:10:09.420 --> 01:10:12.420
It's probably more likely that everybody's on their own cycle.

01:10:12.420 --> 01:10:16.420
So for the Levite, someone's showing up all the time, right?

01:10:16.420 --> 01:10:21.420
But for them, it's a different person coming because it's their third year, whatever.

01:10:21.420 --> 01:10:26.420
It's their timeline, whenever they have their money that's being brought in.

01:10:26.420 --> 01:10:30.420
And whenever you come and bring your tithe, according to the Bible, you eat of it as well.

01:10:30.420 --> 01:10:38.420
It's not like only the Levite. You eat, the Levite eats, and then also the stranger and the fatherless and the other individuals.

01:10:38.420 --> 01:10:41.420
They're able to be blessed by your tithes as well.

01:10:41.420 --> 01:10:47.420
So there's a little bit of a communal thing that everybody's benefiting from the stuff that's being brought in.

01:10:47.420 --> 01:10:52.420
Not just one person is getting to enjoy it, but everybody's getting to enjoy this.

01:10:52.420 --> 01:10:57.420
And we're all thanking God and we're all praising God because the Levite isn't going to be working the field.

01:10:57.420 --> 01:10:59.420
The Levite doesn't have a tithe.

01:10:59.420 --> 01:11:05.420
The Levite has no sheep. He has no oxen. He has no wheat. He has no corn. He has none of that kind of stuff.

01:11:05.420 --> 01:11:09.420
Now I'm not saying the Levite couldn't have made money in other ways and still had to tithe on that,

01:11:09.420 --> 01:11:12.420
but in general the Levite's not the one bringing in the harvest.

01:11:12.420 --> 01:11:16.420
The stranger, he's just so journey. He's probably just working a field for some guy.

01:11:16.420 --> 01:11:18.420
He's not the one that has the goods.

01:11:18.420 --> 01:11:24.420
The fatherless, he's just basically some kid. He can't take care of himself.

01:11:24.420 --> 01:11:26.420
He hasn't an inheritance. He's got problems.

01:11:26.420 --> 01:11:33.420
So it's kind of relying upon the strong men of society that are in good position to bring in all the tithe

01:11:33.420 --> 01:11:35.420
to basically accommodate everybody else.

01:11:35.420 --> 01:11:37.420
And you know what? That's just how life works.

01:11:37.420 --> 01:11:41.420
That's what's being a man is that in many cases you've got to just pay the bill.

01:11:41.420 --> 01:11:44.420
You're the one that provides and the strong men are the ones that provide.

01:11:44.420 --> 01:11:47.420
And sometimes you just have to be the one that takes care of everybody.

01:11:47.420 --> 01:11:50.420
And is it always going to be fair? Is it always going to be equal? No.

01:11:50.420 --> 01:11:56.420
But you know what? It's God's way of taking care of those that can't take care of themselves and the less fortunate.

01:11:56.420 --> 01:12:00.420
And it's also giving opportunity for someone to dedicate themselves to serving God.

01:12:00.420 --> 01:12:03.420
Because without this, everybody has a good work to do.

01:12:03.420 --> 01:12:12.420
But with this system, now the Levite can be there taking in the sacrifices and allowing the house of God to run smoothly and run effectively.

01:12:12.420 --> 01:12:15.420
Whereas if you didn't, well then it's just not going to be run as smoothly.

01:12:15.420 --> 01:12:17.420
It's not going to be as effective.

01:12:17.420 --> 01:12:22.420
You know, if we didn't bring any tithes in the New Testament church, where are we going to meet?

01:12:22.420 --> 01:12:25.420
You know, where are we going to show up?

01:12:25.420 --> 01:12:30.420
How are we going to have chairs and all the different things that we have?

01:12:30.420 --> 01:12:35.420
How are we going to have all the fellowships and all the events and the conferences and the mission trips and all this?

01:12:35.420 --> 01:12:38.420
You know, how are we going to have all the nice instruments?

01:12:38.420 --> 01:12:41.420
You know, these are some nice instruments. This is an expensive piano right here.

01:12:41.420 --> 01:12:43.420
It's beautiful. It's nice. I like it.

01:12:43.420 --> 01:12:48.420
But you know, why would we not want the worship of God to be beautiful and nice and good, right?

01:12:48.420 --> 01:12:52.420
We would want people to basically come and support the house of God

01:12:52.420 --> 01:12:55.420
so that the service and the worship of God goes smoothly.

01:12:55.420 --> 01:12:59.420
It goes well. Go to it back to Deuteronomy chapter 26.

01:12:59.420 --> 01:13:05.420
So again, I'm not saying that you tithe every three years.

01:13:05.420 --> 01:13:07.420
I don't think those are the Bible's tithes.

01:13:07.420 --> 01:13:10.420
But obviously you better tithe every three years.

01:13:10.420 --> 01:13:13.420
You know, it's like it's kind of those things like if you had a seasonal business

01:13:13.420 --> 01:13:18.420
or you had a agricultural based company where your company is really cyclical,

01:13:19.420 --> 01:13:22.420
you may tithe on a much longer scale of time, right?

01:13:22.420 --> 01:13:26.420
You may tithe once a year, once every couple years or something like that.

01:13:26.420 --> 01:13:29.420
But you can't really go past three years.

01:13:29.420 --> 01:13:33.420
For most of us wage workers, it makes way more sense to tithe on a regular basis.

01:13:33.420 --> 01:13:36.420
I just tithe every paycheck as a practical means.

01:13:36.420 --> 01:13:39.420
And one thing that I've heard and it's kind of silly,

01:13:39.420 --> 01:13:42.420
but some people will say, well, I don't tithe the church.

01:13:42.420 --> 01:13:45.420
I just give money to poor people.

01:13:45.420 --> 01:13:48.420
But here's the thing. That's not what this is saying.

01:13:48.420 --> 01:13:52.420
This isn't saying don't get confused by the language of verse 13.

01:13:52.420 --> 01:13:56.420
When it's talking about he's given and the stranger and the followers and the widow,

01:13:56.420 --> 01:13:58.420
all the money is given to the Levite.

01:13:58.420 --> 01:14:02.420
All the money is given to the house of God because it's hallowed.

01:14:02.420 --> 01:14:05.420
It's sanctified. It's dedicated to God.

01:14:05.420 --> 01:14:09.420
That's why he says here, you have to be careful on what he's actually saying here.

01:14:09.420 --> 01:14:13.420
He's saying in verse 14, I have not eaten thereof in my morning.

01:14:13.420 --> 01:14:16.420
What does morning mean?

01:14:16.420 --> 01:14:18.420
We're not talking about we have a you in there.

01:14:18.420 --> 01:14:22.420
So we're not talking about M-O-R-N. We're talking about M-O-U-R-N.

01:14:22.420 --> 01:14:25.420
Because morning with the you is about you. You're sad.

01:14:25.420 --> 01:14:29.420
OK, it's saying, hey, when something bad happened to you,

01:14:29.420 --> 01:14:33.420
when something negative happened to you, when you're down on your luck,

01:14:33.420 --> 01:14:36.420
you didn't dip into God's money.

01:14:36.420 --> 01:14:39.420
You didn't take God's money.

01:14:39.420 --> 01:14:42.420
No, no, no. This possession of yours was God's.

01:14:42.420 --> 01:14:47.420
And you're only keeping it in store, but you can't dip into God's money and take that.

01:14:47.420 --> 01:14:48.420
It was dedicated to God.

01:14:48.420 --> 01:14:53.420
This is why that excuse makes sense that the Pharisees bring up in the New Testament

01:14:53.420 --> 01:14:58.420
when the mother or father would ask for something and they would say, oh, no, no, it is Corbin.

01:14:58.420 --> 01:15:00.420
They were saying what? They were saying it's a gift.

01:15:00.420 --> 01:15:02.420
They were saying this is dedicated to God.

01:15:02.420 --> 01:15:04.420
Well, I can't go dip into God's money.

01:15:04.420 --> 01:15:10.420
I can't go and take the Lord's money and give it to someone else because this is sheep.

01:15:10.420 --> 01:15:12.420
This is goods that are for God.

01:15:12.420 --> 01:15:16.420
I have to take them with me to the Lord's house and I have to give that to God.

01:15:16.420 --> 01:15:22.420
No one would be allowed to ask for the tithe of God to be given to someone else.

01:15:22.420 --> 01:15:28.420
And so he's saying even myself for three years when I had my low points,

01:15:28.420 --> 01:15:32.420
when I had my bad points, when I was going, when things weren't going well,

01:15:32.420 --> 01:15:36.420
I didn't dip into God's money and take God's money to satisfy myself.

01:15:37.420 --> 01:15:41.420
Says neither have I taken away author of for any unclean use,

01:15:41.420 --> 01:15:45.420
nor did he dip into God's money to sin.

01:15:45.420 --> 01:15:49.420
Yeah, he didn't take God's money so he could buy lottery tickets.

01:15:49.420 --> 01:15:51.420
He didn't take God's money to buy some booze.

01:15:51.420 --> 01:15:56.420
He didn't take God's money and go spend it on hookers or harlots or riotous living.

01:15:56.420 --> 01:16:03.420
He didn't dip into God's money for some unclean, dirty use, which the flesh would want, of course.

01:16:03.420 --> 01:16:10.420
He's saying, no, no, no, I didn't strip God's money, take away from God's money for moral sin basically.

01:16:10.420 --> 01:16:12.420
You know what I mean?

01:16:12.420 --> 01:16:15.420
Nor given author of for the dead.

01:16:15.420 --> 01:16:18.420
You know, I didn't give my money or my tithes or offerings.

01:16:18.420 --> 01:16:20.420
Obviously this could be looked at in two ways.

01:16:20.420 --> 01:16:24.420
It could be looked at from like a false religion perspective.

01:16:24.420 --> 01:16:28.420
Maybe some people offered sacrifices for the dead and false religion.

01:16:28.420 --> 01:16:29.420
He's like, I didn't do that.

01:16:29.420 --> 01:16:36.420
Or just in general, just some kind of maybe paying for the funeral or something or paying for expenses that are related to the dead.

01:16:36.420 --> 01:16:41.420
But I have heartened to the voice of the Lord my God and have done according to all that thou's commanded me.

01:16:41.420 --> 01:16:49.420
He says, verse 15, Look down from my holy habitation from heaven and blessed by people Israel in the land which thou's given us as those swears on our fathers land that flow with milk and honey.

01:16:49.420 --> 01:16:53.420
This day the Lord thy God commanded thee to do these statues and judgments.

01:16:53.420 --> 01:16:58.420
Thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all thine heart and with all thy soul.

01:16:58.420 --> 01:17:09.420
Thou'st vouched the Lord this day to be thy God and to walk in his ways and to keep his statues and his commandments and his judgments and to hearken unto his voice.

01:17:09.420 --> 01:17:25.420
And the Lord of the vows thee this day to be his peculiar people as he hath promised thee and the vows to keep all his commandments and to make thee high above all nations which he hath made in praise and in name and in honor that thou mayest be in holy people and the Lord thy God as he hath spoken.

01:17:25.420 --> 01:17:33.420
Now it says that we have saying like we have vowed the Lord or the people of Israel avows the Lord and then the Lord avows them.

01:17:33.420 --> 01:17:40.420
You know, you can think of this as like taking the A off like a voucher, a voucher, something that you paid for.

01:17:40.420 --> 01:17:46.420
And so in a sense, it's like God paid for them by giving them a land with milk and honey.

01:17:46.420 --> 01:17:50.420
That's his voucher. Their voucher is the tithe.

01:17:50.420 --> 01:17:54.420
It's like saying, hey, I paid for you. You pay for me, right?

01:17:54.420 --> 01:17:59.420
And it's just this kind of joint system of, hey, I pay you. You pay me.

01:17:59.420 --> 01:18:05.420
And that's how it works. Now, praise God. He pays us 100 percent. We pay him 10 percent.

01:18:05.420 --> 01:18:10.420
I like that deal. That's even better than the 50 50 deal. You know what I mean?

01:18:10.420 --> 01:18:13.420
It's like, hey, I'll give you 100. You just give me 10 back.

01:18:13.420 --> 01:18:17.420
And then this is how God, you know, typically describes it as you give him 10 back.

01:18:17.420 --> 01:18:20.420
He won't give you 100 back. He'll give you 200 percent back.

01:18:20.420 --> 01:18:24.420
And then you just give him 10 percent again. And it's like he just keeps growing and multiplying.

01:18:24.420 --> 01:18:26.420
The problem is when you take from God.

01:18:26.420 --> 01:18:34.420
Now, this is brought up in Malachi, Chapter three, the children of Israel forsook the Lord and didn't observe his commandments and stole from the tithes of the Lord.

01:18:34.420 --> 01:18:38.420
Go to Malachi, Chapter three. And this is brought up.

01:18:38.420 --> 01:18:44.420
Interestingly enough, isn't it the last book of the Old Testament?

01:18:44.420 --> 01:18:47.420
It's like, hey, God's going to bless Israel.

01:18:47.420 --> 01:18:50.420
And then it's like now there's no more blessing.

01:18:50.420 --> 01:18:53.420
And then what's the thing that's like hammered in the last book?

01:18:53.420 --> 01:18:56.420
It's the fact that they forgot the Lord and their ties and offerings.

01:18:56.420 --> 01:19:02.420
And then what happens? The house of the Lord forsaken and the house of the Lord turns into a den of thieves and to a den of iniquity.

01:19:02.420 --> 01:19:06.420
You know, Malachi, Chapter three, look what it says in verse eight.

01:19:06.420 --> 01:19:08.420
Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed me.

01:19:08.420 --> 01:19:11.420
But you say, where have we robbed thee in ties and offerings?

01:19:11.420 --> 01:19:16.420
Your curse with the curse we have robbed me, even this whole nation, bringing all the ties in the storehouse.

01:19:16.420 --> 01:19:19.420
There may be meat in my house and prove me now herewith.

01:19:19.420 --> 01:19:29.420
Say the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing and there shall not be room enough to receive it and I will rebuke the devour for your sakes and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground.

01:19:29.420 --> 01:19:38.420
Neither shall your vine cast or fruit before the time in the field, say the Lord of hosts, and all nations shall call you blessed for you shall be a disliked some land, say the Lord of hosts.

01:19:38.420 --> 01:19:41.420
Your words have been stout against me, say the Lord.

01:19:41.420 --> 01:19:45.420
Yet you say, what have we spoken so much against thee?

01:19:45.420 --> 01:19:47.420
So again, he's saying, hey, you do this.

01:19:47.420 --> 01:19:49.420
I'm going to pour out the windows of heaven.

01:19:49.420 --> 01:19:50.420
I'm going to bless you.

01:19:50.420 --> 01:19:52.420
And not only that, I'm going to rebuke the devourer.

01:19:52.420 --> 01:19:55.420
So you're not going to lose crops.

01:19:55.420 --> 01:19:57.420
You're going to get extra crops.

01:19:57.420 --> 01:19:59.420
Everything's going to be timely.

01:19:59.420 --> 01:20:00.420
It's going to be in its season.

01:20:00.420 --> 01:20:03.420
And look, we have to recognize that weather is of God.

01:20:03.420 --> 01:20:04.420
God is controlling the weather.

01:20:04.420 --> 01:20:07.420
God is the one that causes the economy to go well or not go well.

01:20:07.420 --> 01:20:09.420
God's the one that brings in the blessings.

01:20:09.420 --> 01:20:11.420
And it's like, hey, you bless God, you get blessed.

01:20:11.420 --> 01:20:13.420
You don't bless God, you're cursed.

01:20:13.420 --> 01:20:19.420
And you're going to have people ripping you off and stealing from you, heavily oppressed, heavily taxed, heavily taken advantage of.

01:20:19.420 --> 01:20:21.420
And we see that happening in America.

01:20:21.420 --> 01:20:26.420
If you do it right, verse 12, and all nations shall call you blessed and you should be a delight some land.

01:20:26.420 --> 01:20:27.420
Why is everybody love America?

01:20:27.420 --> 01:20:30.420
Because it was blessed by God, because it blessed God.

01:20:31.420 --> 01:20:35.420
The nation that blessed God became the nation where everybody wanted to come.

01:20:35.420 --> 01:20:39.420
Why isn't it that a Muslim nation is where everybody wants to go?

01:20:39.420 --> 01:20:44.420
Why isn't it that the Hindu nation of India isn't where everybody wants to go?

01:20:44.420 --> 01:20:50.420
Why isn't it that the atheist nation of North Korea isn't where everybody wants to go?

01:20:50.420 --> 01:20:55.420
Why isn't it the Greek Orthodox of the Russians or the Russian Orthodox?

01:20:55.420 --> 01:20:57.420
Why isn't it they want to go there?

01:20:57.420 --> 01:20:59.420
Why is it they want to come to America?

01:20:59.420 --> 01:21:03.420
Let me tell you, because that's where the blessing of God is and it's a delight some land.

01:21:03.420 --> 01:21:05.420
It's a delight some land.

01:21:05.420 --> 01:21:06.420
It rules.

01:21:06.420 --> 01:21:08.420
It rocks.

01:21:08.420 --> 01:21:09.420
Yes, America is the best.

01:21:09.420 --> 01:21:11.420
Sorry if you don't like it.

01:21:11.420 --> 01:21:12.420
I love it.

01:21:12.420 --> 01:21:14.420
I love that I get to live here.

01:21:14.420 --> 01:21:17.420
You know, it's always the liberals that want to leave.

01:21:17.420 --> 01:21:20.420
And you know, isn't it funny they always want to leave when we want to make it more godly?

01:21:20.420 --> 01:21:23.420
They're like, oh man, if you let conservatives say and do whatever they want, we're going to leave.

01:21:23.420 --> 01:21:25.420
And we're just thinking like, please.

01:21:25.420 --> 01:21:28.420
You know, then it's going to be a delight some land.

01:21:28.420 --> 01:21:30.420
It's like they're just they're just telling you the Bible.

01:21:30.420 --> 01:21:34.420
They're just like, look, if you actually do what the Bible says, I'm going to leave.

01:21:34.420 --> 01:21:36.420
And we're just thinking like, please do the Bible.

01:21:36.420 --> 01:21:39.420
You know, please incorporate the word of God more.

01:21:39.420 --> 01:21:49.420
A nation that forgets God and turns away from the Bible and has false religion will be cursed, will be filthy, will be gross, will have heavy oppression.

01:21:49.420 --> 01:21:51.420
It's all different, right?

01:21:51.420 --> 01:21:55.420
You could have a nation that is clean, but it's full of oppression.

01:21:55.420 --> 01:22:01.420
You can have a nation that has more freedom, but it's just it's just filthy and abominable and gross.

01:22:01.420 --> 01:22:04.420
Or it's just undesirable to live there.

01:22:04.420 --> 01:22:08.420
Or maybe it's dangerous or maybe it's violent or whatever.

01:22:08.420 --> 01:22:09.420
You know, America kind of has the best.

01:22:09.420 --> 01:22:12.420
It's like it's not gross.

01:22:12.420 --> 01:22:14.420
It's safe.

01:22:14.420 --> 01:22:17.420
It's got pretty much everything you could kind of want.

01:22:17.420 --> 01:22:19.420
It's a land flowing with milk and honey.

01:22:19.420 --> 01:22:20.420
Milk is a blessing.

01:22:20.420 --> 01:22:22.420
Praise God for milk.

01:22:22.420 --> 01:22:23.420
I love milk.

01:22:23.420 --> 01:22:24.420
It's amazing.

01:22:24.420 --> 01:22:27.420
And of course, what do you know how you have milk?

01:22:27.420 --> 01:22:28.420
Cows.

01:22:28.420 --> 01:22:31.420
OK, folks, you know, it comes with cows.

01:22:31.420 --> 01:22:34.420
Every other good thing that comes from the Lord.

01:22:34.420 --> 01:22:35.420
Beef.

01:22:35.420 --> 01:22:36.420
It's what's for dinner.

01:22:36.420 --> 01:22:37.420
Cheese.

01:22:37.420 --> 01:22:38.420
Butter.

01:22:38.420 --> 01:22:41.420
I mean, there's just so many blessings that come.

01:22:41.420 --> 01:22:46.420
You know, these people that are telling me that they're like vegan, I'm just thinking like, man, your life is so sad.

01:22:46.420 --> 01:22:52.420
You know, God bless you if you're a vegan and you can make it because I just I just think I would be sad all the time.

01:22:52.420 --> 01:22:57.420
You know, milk and meat and stuff is like just brings the happy emotions out.

01:22:57.420 --> 01:22:58.420
OK.

01:22:58.420 --> 01:23:05.420
And I think that you should if you, you know, God willing or willing to partake, have some meat, have some have some milk.

01:23:05.420 --> 01:23:06.420
Go back.

01:23:06.420 --> 01:23:11.420
If you want to focus on a few verses there and I want to just point out a couple other scriptures.

01:23:11.420 --> 01:23:17.420
But notice in Deuteronomy 26, it's saying that their nation will be the best.

01:23:17.420 --> 01:23:18.420
It's what it says.

01:23:18.420 --> 01:23:19.420
Verse 19.

01:23:19.420 --> 01:23:22.420
And to make the high above all nations.

01:23:22.420 --> 01:23:25.420
He's saying you're going to be the number one nation.

01:23:25.420 --> 01:23:29.420
You're going to be the best nation in a couple of ways.

01:23:29.420 --> 01:23:32.420
And praise, name and honor.

01:23:32.420 --> 01:23:33.420
And of course, why?

01:23:33.420 --> 01:23:36.420
Because if you praise God, he'll praise you.

01:23:36.420 --> 01:23:40.420
If you recognize God's name, he'll recognize your name.

01:23:40.420 --> 01:23:43.420
You give honor unto God, he'll give honor unto you.

01:23:43.420 --> 01:23:46.420
And in the same way, this can be applied to anything in your state.

01:23:46.420 --> 01:23:47.420
It could be to your church.

01:23:47.420 --> 01:23:54.420
You know, a church that praises God, God will praise a church that is focusing on the name of Jesus.

01:23:54.420 --> 01:23:58.420
He'll give them a name, a church that gives honor under the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:23:58.420 --> 01:24:00.420
He'll give honor unto those people.

01:24:00.420 --> 01:24:02.420
And of course, we can be great.

01:24:02.420 --> 01:24:04.420
God wants us to be great.

01:24:04.420 --> 01:24:12.420
There's nothing wrong with striving for greatness, but we have to recognize that that greatness comes from God and we're giving him the honor and the glory for our greatness.

01:24:12.420 --> 01:24:21.420
The only reason America was great and has been great and is still great is because of what God is giving us and because of his grace.

01:24:21.420 --> 01:24:29.420
God's grace is great because a lot of people would be done with America.

01:24:29.420 --> 01:24:31.420
God is very gracious.

01:24:31.420 --> 01:24:32.420
God is long suffering.

01:24:32.420 --> 01:24:34.420
God is a very merciful God.

01:24:34.420 --> 01:24:40.420
Consider how kind and how much blessing he still gives us despite our imperfections.

01:24:40.420 --> 01:24:44.420
And even if we took the world out of the equation, we ourselves have many shortcomings.

01:24:44.420 --> 01:24:46.420
We have many failings.

01:24:46.420 --> 01:24:49.420
We are very disappointing under the Lord in many different ways.

01:24:49.420 --> 01:24:56.420
And yet God still loves us and God is still merciful to us and God still wants to do good unto us even when we don't deserve it.

01:24:56.420 --> 01:24:57.420
Good to Proverbs 3.

01:24:57.420 --> 01:25:04.420
And yet people will take great offense to this doctrine of whether or not they should tithe, bring a tent to the Lord.

01:25:04.420 --> 01:25:12.420
You know, first of all, Genesis chapter four has Abel bringing the first of the flock and the fat thereof.

01:25:12.420 --> 01:25:15.420
Cain does not do such a thing.

01:25:15.420 --> 01:25:17.420
Of course, there's two pictures there.

01:25:17.420 --> 01:25:22.420
There's the picture of the lamb sacrifice, which is an animal sacrifice, picturing the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:25:22.420 --> 01:25:26.420
You have the fruits, which is Cain's picture of his works.

01:25:26.420 --> 01:25:28.420
And of course, we're saved by faith.

01:25:28.420 --> 01:25:29.420
We're not saved by works.

01:25:29.420 --> 01:25:35.420
But also you have a picture there of the first, that is the first that's brought by Abel and that's what's respected.

01:25:35.420 --> 01:25:39.420
Whereas it is not the first of Cain and it is not respected.

01:25:39.420 --> 01:25:45.420
Because if you don't bring the first, then you're not bringing that which is God's and you're robbing God and you're not giving unto God.

01:25:45.420 --> 01:25:47.420
Proverbs chapter three, verse five.

01:25:59.420 --> 01:26:05.420
Notice this.

01:26:05.420 --> 01:26:08.420
Tell me how that verse is different than the Old Testament commandment.

01:26:08.420 --> 01:26:12.420
And yet many people will say, oh, tithing is an Old Testament law.

01:26:12.420 --> 01:26:14.420
Done away with.

01:26:14.420 --> 01:26:16.420
OK, but what was the principle?

01:26:16.420 --> 01:26:19.420
The principle was so that the house of God will go well.

01:26:19.420 --> 01:26:22.420
Do we not still have the house of God in the New Testament?

01:26:22.420 --> 01:26:26.420
And then what's your practical solution to God's practical option here?

01:26:26.420 --> 01:26:33.420
God's practical solution to the house of God going well in the Old Testament was for the tithe to be brought in so that it can have money and they could do the things they need to do.

01:26:33.420 --> 01:26:38.420
What's your practical solution for the house of God to go well in the New Testament if it isn't the tithe?

01:26:38.420 --> 01:26:43.420
And then why would we have in the book of Proverbs, which is not the Old Testament covenant, but rather just timeless principles?

01:26:43.420 --> 01:26:47.420
Show me what other proverb has been done away with in the Old Testament.

01:26:47.420 --> 01:26:50.420
I've never even heard that. Who's heard that?

01:26:50.420 --> 01:26:51.420
Has anybody even heard that?

01:26:51.420 --> 01:26:56.420
I've never heard someone say like that Old Testament proverb is done away with in the New Testament.

01:26:56.420 --> 01:26:57.420
That's a silly observe.

01:26:57.420 --> 01:26:59.420
That's a silly idea to read the Bible.

01:26:59.420 --> 01:27:03.420
You know, was Cain and Abel living in the Old Testament covenant?

01:27:03.420 --> 01:27:05.420
They were before the Old Testament covenant.

01:27:05.420 --> 01:27:07.420
Jacob paid tithes.

01:27:07.420 --> 01:27:08.420
Abraham paid tithes.

01:27:08.420 --> 01:27:11.420
And then again, it's brought up in the New Testament, which is where we're headed.

01:27:11.420 --> 01:27:14.420
But notice he says, honor the Lord with thy substance and with the first of all that increased.

01:27:14.420 --> 01:27:19.420
Notice, so shall thy barns be filled with plenty and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

01:27:19.420 --> 01:27:22.420
The exact same principle taught in Deuteronomy, Chapter 26.

01:27:22.420 --> 01:27:26.420
Now if you go to Hebrews, Chapter 7, go to Hebrews, Chapter number 7.

01:27:26.420 --> 01:27:31.420
You know, Jesus says about the Pharisees in Matthew 23, 23,

01:27:31.420 --> 01:27:36.420
He says, Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, for you paid tithe of mint and anise and cumin,

01:27:36.420 --> 01:27:40.420
and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy and faith.

01:27:40.420 --> 01:27:41.420
Now this is what he also says.

01:27:41.420 --> 01:27:46.420
These you ought to have done and not to leave the other undone.

01:27:46.420 --> 01:27:49.420
So Jesus is saying, Hey, you guys are bad.

01:27:49.420 --> 01:27:51.420
You're paying tithe.

01:27:51.420 --> 01:27:53.420
But then he doesn't say because you're paying tithe.

01:27:53.420 --> 01:27:57.420
He's saying because you're paying tithe and you're not doing the more important things.

01:27:57.420 --> 01:27:58.420
Okay.

01:27:58.420 --> 01:28:02.420
And he says, you should have paid your tithes and done the more important things.

01:28:02.420 --> 01:28:04.420
So we want to have the right balance.

01:28:04.420 --> 01:28:08.420
Is tithing the most important thing in the Bible?

01:28:08.420 --> 01:28:09.420
No.

01:28:09.420 --> 01:28:10.420
No, it is not.

01:28:10.420 --> 01:28:13.420
Yet many churches will teach you that is the number one most important thing.

01:28:13.420 --> 01:28:18.420
I've been to many churches that teach you have marriage problems because you're not tithing.

01:28:18.420 --> 01:28:21.420
The reason why you have marriage problems is because you married.

01:28:21.420 --> 01:28:24.420
Okay.

01:28:24.420 --> 01:28:29.420
They'll just basically say like every problem in your life is because of tithing.

01:28:29.420 --> 01:28:30.420
And it's just like, I don't believe that.

01:28:30.420 --> 01:28:35.420
Now look, could some problems in your life be a result of not tithing?

01:28:35.420 --> 01:28:36.420
Sure.

01:28:36.420 --> 01:28:38.420
Because I mean, the Bible did say that you would be cursed potentially.

01:28:38.420 --> 01:28:40.420
So yeah, I'm not going to lie to you.

01:28:40.420 --> 01:28:44.420
I'm not going to sit here and pretend like you couldn't have negative consequences for breaking God's commandments.

01:28:44.420 --> 01:28:45.420
But let me tell you something.

01:28:45.420 --> 01:28:49.420
It's not the number one commandment, but it's still something you should do.

01:28:49.420 --> 01:28:51.420
It's still important.

01:28:51.420 --> 01:28:55.420
And we noticed that if you want blessing, if you want the church to be blessed, we got to be observing it.

01:28:55.420 --> 01:28:57.420
We shouldn't be partial.

01:28:57.420 --> 01:28:59.420
Now Hebrews chapter 7 verse 1 says,

01:29:10.420 --> 01:29:19.420
Now consider how great this man was.

01:29:19.420 --> 01:29:23.420
Undoing him the patriarch, Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

01:29:23.420 --> 01:29:33.420
And verily they that are the sons of Levi, who received the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham.

01:29:33.420 --> 01:29:38.420
But he whose the sin is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham and blessed him that had the promises.

01:29:38.420 --> 01:29:41.420
And without a contradiction the blessed is blessed of the blether.

01:29:41.420 --> 01:29:46.420
And here men that die receive tithes, but there he receiveth them of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

01:29:46.420 --> 01:29:53.420
So according to the Bible, we have a story here talking about Melchizedek.

01:29:53.420 --> 01:29:55.420
Why bring up Melchizedek?

01:29:55.420 --> 01:29:57.420
Because the priesthood is being changed.

01:29:57.420 --> 01:30:00.420
So the Bible says of necessity the law is also changed.

01:30:00.420 --> 01:30:07.420
So instead of paying tithes according to the Aaronic priesthood, he's bringing up the tithes that are being paid to the Melchizedek priesthood.

01:30:07.420 --> 01:30:08.420
Why?

01:30:08.420 --> 01:30:12.420
Because Jesus Christ is the priest named after the order of Melchizedek.

01:30:12.420 --> 01:30:14.420
He's the priest after Melchizedek.

01:30:14.420 --> 01:30:17.420
So we are under the Melchizedek priesthood right now.

01:30:17.420 --> 01:30:18.420
We are not in the Aaronic priesthood.

01:30:18.420 --> 01:30:20.420
It's been done away with.

01:30:20.420 --> 01:30:23.420
It's been cast away.

01:30:23.420 --> 01:30:24.420
It's decayed.

01:30:24.420 --> 01:30:25.420
It's waxed old.

01:30:25.420 --> 01:30:28.420
But we are under the Melchizedek priesthood of Jesus Christ.

01:30:28.420 --> 01:30:29.420
Riddle me this.

01:30:29.420 --> 01:30:37.420
If Abraham is paying tithes to Melchizedek, why would I not pay tithes to Melchizedek?

01:30:37.420 --> 01:30:38.420
Right?

01:30:38.420 --> 01:30:40.420
They're like, oh, no, no, that was paying tithes to Aaron.

01:30:40.420 --> 01:30:42.420
Why don't pay tithes to Aaron?

01:30:42.420 --> 01:30:43.420
That was done away with.

01:30:43.420 --> 01:30:44.420
But you know what?

01:30:44.420 --> 01:30:46.420
I paid tithes to Melchizedek.

01:30:46.420 --> 01:30:51.420
And yeah, just in the same principle that here men that died received tithes, but there

01:30:51.420 --> 01:30:52.420
you're receiving them.

01:30:52.420 --> 01:30:53.420
Yeah, I tied to God.

01:30:53.420 --> 01:30:55.420
I tied to Melchizedek through men.

01:30:55.420 --> 01:30:59.420
Now, you could argue, and I think it's valid, to believe that Melchizedek was literally

01:30:59.420 --> 01:31:04.420
Jesus Christ, a pre-incarnate Jesus Christ that showed up unto Abraham and he paid tithes

01:31:04.420 --> 01:31:05.420
to that guy.

01:31:05.420 --> 01:31:10.420
Some people think it's just a guy that was literally Melchizedek and that he just represents

01:31:10.420 --> 01:31:11.420
Christ.

01:31:11.420 --> 01:31:13.420
I think both are valid interpretations.

01:31:13.420 --> 01:31:15.420
I think you could argue both.

01:31:15.420 --> 01:31:21.420
What I don't think you could argue is that Jesus Christ was always on the earth.

01:31:21.420 --> 01:31:23.420
OK?

01:31:23.420 --> 01:31:28.420
If Melchizedek is Jesus, he would have just showed up for this moment and then zipped

01:31:28.420 --> 01:31:31.420
out of there like every other pre-incarnate example.

01:31:31.420 --> 01:31:32.420
OK?

01:31:32.420 --> 01:31:36.420
I do not believe Jesus Christ was literally ruling and reigning in the Old Testament for

01:31:36.420 --> 01:31:40.420
hundreds of years over the most wicked, godless society.

01:31:40.420 --> 01:31:41.420
OK?

01:31:41.420 --> 01:31:43.420
That would be blasphemy if you ask me.

01:31:43.420 --> 01:31:48.420
You know, if it's blasphemy to say that Jesus Christ was going to the gay bar in his New

01:31:48.420 --> 01:31:52.420
Testament, you know, in the New Testament times, how much worse would it be to say that

01:31:52.420 --> 01:31:57.420
Jesus Christ was ruling over the gay bars for hundreds of years in Canaan?

01:31:57.420 --> 01:31:58.420
OK?

01:31:58.420 --> 01:32:03.420
That's insane and blasphemous and wicked, and I think you're a retard if you believe

01:32:03.420 --> 01:32:04.420
that.

01:32:04.420 --> 01:32:05.420
OK?

01:32:05.420 --> 01:32:09.420
Anybody that believes that is crazy and you shouldn't want to listen to anything they

01:32:09.420 --> 01:32:10.420
have to say.

01:32:10.420 --> 01:32:16.420
But it is valid to believe either alternative here that Jesus was showing up or not.

01:32:16.420 --> 01:32:19.420
But either way, it doesn't really change the, it doesn't change the point.

01:32:19.420 --> 01:32:25.420
The point that's being made here is that Abraham paid tithes to a guy and before the law, and

01:32:25.420 --> 01:32:27.420
that is the priesthood that we're under now.

01:32:27.420 --> 01:32:29.420
We are under the Melchizedek priesthood.

01:32:29.420 --> 01:32:33.420
Some people say, oh, I don't believe in tithing or blah, blah, blah.

01:32:33.420 --> 01:32:36.420
You can believe whatever you want, but I'm showing you lots of proofs here.

01:32:36.420 --> 01:32:40.420
Now again, it's a matter of faith, but you know, I believe that if you tithe, you'll

01:32:40.420 --> 01:32:41.420
be blessed by God.

01:32:41.420 --> 01:32:43.420
I've seen it in my personal life.

01:32:43.420 --> 01:32:46.420
You know, I think it helps the house of God go well.

01:32:46.420 --> 01:32:50.420
No one's really keeping a tab on you because then they, what we don't do is say like, all

01:32:50.420 --> 01:32:53.420
right, I need your tax return.

01:32:53.420 --> 01:32:57.420
I need to see all your W-2s at the end of the year, and then we're going to match up

01:32:57.420 --> 01:33:01.420
and make sure that, you know, things go right.

01:33:01.420 --> 01:33:05.420
Now if I really, really wanted to, I could probably make an educated guess.

01:33:05.420 --> 01:33:09.420
I could probably guess that people that gave $43 last year probably didn't tithe, but you

01:33:09.420 --> 01:33:12.420
know, like, do I really care?

01:33:12.420 --> 01:33:13.420
No.

01:33:13.420 --> 01:33:14.420
Am I really fixated on that?

01:33:14.420 --> 01:33:15.420
No.

01:33:15.420 --> 01:33:16.420
Is it the most important thing?

01:33:16.420 --> 01:33:17.420
No.

01:33:17.420 --> 01:33:18.420
So winning is the most important thing.

01:33:18.420 --> 01:33:19.420
But you know what?

01:33:19.420 --> 01:33:21.420
It would be wrong for me to not preach this because here's the thing.

01:33:21.420 --> 01:33:25.420
If I don't preach this, less people tithe, and if less people tithe, then the church

01:33:25.420 --> 01:33:29.420
of God will be less, and then what will be less is the honor and praise to God.

01:33:29.420 --> 01:33:30.420
And you know what?

01:33:30.420 --> 01:33:34.420
We serve a great God, and He is worthy and deserving of His tithes because it's not

01:33:34.420 --> 01:33:37.420
His, it's not your money, it's His money, and you're robbing from God.

01:33:37.420 --> 01:33:40.420
You're not robbing from me, you're robbing from God.

01:33:40.420 --> 01:33:44.420
And it would be wrong to take from God in any context.

01:33:44.420 --> 01:33:47.420
You know, it would be wrong for you to sit here and condemn Pastor Menes for what he

01:33:47.420 --> 01:33:50.420
did with admissions money if you don't tithe.

01:33:50.420 --> 01:33:52.420
You're a hypocrite.

01:33:52.420 --> 01:33:53.420
And you know what?

01:33:53.420 --> 01:33:56.420
Maybe judgment should begin first with you, and you should say, hey, how are you doing

01:33:56.420 --> 01:33:57.420
things?

01:33:57.420 --> 01:33:59.420
Now again, is his sin more egregious?

01:33:59.420 --> 01:34:00.420
Absolutely.

01:34:00.420 --> 01:34:01.420
Okay.

01:34:01.420 --> 01:34:02.420
Don't hear me wrong.

01:34:02.420 --> 01:34:08.420
Just like, you know, having a lustful thought is a form of adultery, real adultery is way

01:34:08.420 --> 01:34:10.420
worse, okay, folks?

01:34:10.420 --> 01:34:15.420
So yeah, I think that not tithing is a lesser form of robbery than literally stealing money

01:34:15.420 --> 01:34:17.420
from the church, okay?

01:34:17.420 --> 01:34:22.420
But it's the same principle, and we should be careful to judge others when we don't judge

01:34:22.420 --> 01:34:24.420
ourselves.

01:34:24.420 --> 01:34:27.420
Now, here's the other thing I want to apply just quickly.

01:34:27.420 --> 01:34:31.420
Go to 1 Corinthians, or no, go to Hebrews 1, we're right here.

01:34:31.420 --> 01:34:33.420
What's the spiritual picture of tithing?

01:34:33.420 --> 01:34:36.420
Because there's always a spiritual picture in the Old Testament book.

01:34:36.420 --> 01:34:39.420
Well, it's the firstfruits that are dedicated to God.

01:34:39.420 --> 01:34:40.420
They're God's.

01:34:40.420 --> 01:34:41.420
They're no one else.

01:34:41.420 --> 01:34:42.420
What is that picture?

01:34:42.420 --> 01:34:48.420
It's a picture of how Jesus Christ is the first fruit, and he was dedicated to God.

01:34:48.420 --> 01:34:53.420
He was a sacrifice unto God, and he was not allowed to be given to anything else.

01:34:53.420 --> 01:34:59.420
He was a dedicated sacrifice to the Lord and had to be brought to Jerusalem specifically

01:34:59.420 --> 01:35:03.420
for the sacrifice of the Lord, and that blessed all the people.

01:35:03.420 --> 01:35:05.420
That is why the tithe is so important.

01:35:05.420 --> 01:35:07.420
It's the spiritual picture of Jesus Christ.

01:35:07.420 --> 01:35:12.420
Now, Hebrews chapter 1, it tells us about Jesus Christ.

01:35:12.420 --> 01:35:14.420
Let's just keep reading verse 1.

01:35:14.420 --> 01:35:18.420
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time, passing on the fathers by the

01:35:18.420 --> 01:35:22.420
prophets, hath in his last days spoken unto us by his son, whom he hath appointed heir

01:35:22.420 --> 01:35:26.420
of all things, by whom also he made the world, who being the brightness of his glory and

01:35:26.420 --> 01:35:30.420
expressed image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when

01:35:30.420 --> 01:35:37.420
he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the majesty on high,

01:35:37.420 --> 01:35:41.420
being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more

01:35:41.420 --> 01:35:44.420
excellent name than they.

01:35:44.420 --> 01:35:48.420
So the Bible is saying that Jesus is better than the angels.

01:35:48.420 --> 01:35:49.420
And why?

01:35:49.420 --> 01:35:50.420
He's a son.

01:35:50.420 --> 01:35:51.420
Verse 5.

01:35:51.420 --> 01:35:55.420
For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my son, this day have I begotten

01:35:55.420 --> 01:35:56.420
thee.

01:35:56.420 --> 01:35:58.420
And again, I'll be them a father, and he shall be to me a son.

01:35:58.420 --> 01:36:03.420
And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he sayeth, and let all the

01:36:03.420 --> 01:36:05.420
angels of God worship him.

01:36:05.420 --> 01:36:09.420
So according to the Bible, Jesus Christ is the first begotten.

01:36:09.420 --> 01:36:13.420
He is that first fruit that is being offered.

01:36:13.420 --> 01:36:14.420
And you know what?

01:36:14.420 --> 01:36:15.420
Praise God for the first fruit.

01:36:15.420 --> 01:36:16.420
I don't want to take away the first fruit.

01:36:16.420 --> 01:36:17.420
I love the first fruit.

01:36:17.420 --> 01:36:21.420
The first fruit is what we all get to enjoy is his salvation, his sacrifice and what he

01:36:21.420 --> 01:36:22.420
did.

01:36:22.420 --> 01:36:27.420
We are the picture of the Levite and the stranger and the fatherless that could not provide

01:36:27.420 --> 01:36:28.420
for our own.

01:36:28.420 --> 01:36:33.420
And we relied on the first fruit being brought to us and given to us for free so that we

01:36:33.420 --> 01:36:34.420
could have life.

01:36:34.420 --> 01:36:35.420
What does the food represent?

01:36:35.420 --> 01:36:36.420
Life.

01:36:36.420 --> 01:36:37.420
What does Jesus Christ represent?

01:36:37.420 --> 01:36:39.420
Eternal life that we got through him.

01:36:39.420 --> 01:36:44.420
Go through Colossians 1, Colossians chapter 1, and we'll see the same thing be mentioned

01:36:44.420 --> 01:36:45.420
about him.

01:36:46.420 --> 01:36:50.420
To hate tithing is to hate Jesus because he represents the tithe.

01:36:50.420 --> 01:36:54.420
He represents the first fruits being dedicated to God.

01:36:54.420 --> 01:36:59.420
Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, look at chapter 1.

01:36:59.420 --> 01:37:01.420
There's a lot of good verses here.

01:37:01.420 --> 01:37:05.420
Verse 13, who delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the

01:37:05.420 --> 01:37:07.420
kingdom of his dear son.

01:37:07.420 --> 01:37:12.420
And then we received in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of

01:37:12.420 --> 01:37:15.420
sins, who is the image of the invisible God.

01:37:15.420 --> 01:37:21.420
Notice this, the firstborn of every creature for by him were all things created that are

01:37:21.420 --> 01:37:25.420
in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions

01:37:25.420 --> 01:37:27.420
or principalities or powers.

01:37:27.420 --> 01:37:29.420
All things are created by him and for him.

01:37:29.420 --> 01:37:31.420
And he's before all things.

01:37:31.420 --> 01:37:32.420
And by him all things consist.

01:37:32.420 --> 01:37:35.420
And he's the head of the body of the church who is the beginning.

01:37:35.420 --> 01:37:40.420
Notice this, the firstborn from the dead that in all things he might have the preeminence.

01:37:40.420 --> 01:37:43.420
Don't let the firstborn word scare you.

01:37:43.420 --> 01:37:45.420
Jesus Christ does not have an origin.

01:37:45.420 --> 01:37:47.420
Jesus Christ is from everlasting.

01:37:47.420 --> 01:37:50.420
Jesus Christ is always with God.

01:37:50.420 --> 01:37:56.420
He was God and he is God and he's with God and all things are made by him.

01:37:56.420 --> 01:37:59.420
But what he's the firstborn of is from the dead.

01:37:59.420 --> 01:38:01.420
He's the first resurrection.

01:38:01.420 --> 01:38:06.420
So what the Bible teaches is that he could have all the preeminence because he was before

01:38:06.420 --> 01:38:07.420
all things.

01:38:07.420 --> 01:38:09.420
He created all things.

01:38:09.420 --> 01:38:13.420
And he was the first to ever be resurrected and glorified.

01:38:13.420 --> 01:38:16.420
So in every category, Jesus is first.

01:38:16.420 --> 01:38:18.420
He's got the first place ribbon in all of them.

01:38:18.420 --> 01:38:22.420
Created, existing, you know, dying, everything.

01:38:22.420 --> 01:38:24.420
It's just like number one, number one, number one.

01:38:24.420 --> 01:38:25.420
Just first, first, first.

01:38:25.420 --> 01:38:26.420
Why?

01:38:26.420 --> 01:38:28.420
So that he could get all the preeminence.

01:38:28.420 --> 01:38:33.420
That's why the salvation has nothing to do with our work so that no man can boast.

01:38:33.420 --> 01:38:35.420
It's all about Jesus.

01:38:35.420 --> 01:38:40.420
When we go to heaven, every single guy, the greatest men to ever live, will take their

01:38:40.420 --> 01:38:45.420
crown and they will cast it down and they will kneel down and give honor and glory to

01:38:45.420 --> 01:38:49.420
Jesus because it's all about Jesus.

01:38:49.420 --> 01:38:52.420
He is the first and the last.

01:38:52.420 --> 01:38:53.420
Go over to 1 Corinthians 15.

01:38:53.420 --> 01:38:55.420
He's not just the first, he's the last.

01:38:55.420 --> 01:38:56.420
He's everything.

01:38:56.420 --> 01:38:57.420
It's all about Jesus.

01:38:57.420 --> 01:38:58.420
He's the word of God.

01:38:58.420 --> 01:39:01.420
He has written on his thigh the word of God.

01:39:01.420 --> 01:39:02.420
He's the alpha.

01:39:02.420 --> 01:39:03.420
He's the omega.

01:39:03.420 --> 01:39:04.420
He's the beginning.

01:39:04.420 --> 01:39:05.420
He's the end.

01:39:05.420 --> 01:39:07.420
He's the king of kings and the lord of lords.

01:39:07.420 --> 01:39:09.420
It's all about Jesus Christ.

01:39:09.420 --> 01:39:11.420
But he was also that type.

01:39:11.420 --> 01:39:16.420
He was that picture of that first fruit that was dedicated to God and was sacrificed to

01:39:16.420 --> 01:39:20.420
God and he redeemed us and he purchased us with his own blood.

01:39:20.420 --> 01:39:23.420
First Corinthians chapter 15, look at verse 20.

01:39:23.420 --> 01:39:29.420
But now is Christ risen from the dead and become, notice this, the first fruits of them

01:39:29.420 --> 01:39:30.420
that slept.

01:39:30.420 --> 01:39:35.420
For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

01:39:35.420 --> 01:39:38.420
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

01:39:38.420 --> 01:39:44.420
But every man in his own order Christ, the first fruits afterward, they that are Christ's

01:39:44.420 --> 01:39:45.420
ad is coming.

01:39:45.420 --> 01:39:49.420
Now I didn't turn for the sake of time, I'm over time.

01:39:49.420 --> 01:39:51.420
But Jesus is the first fruit.

01:39:51.420 --> 01:39:56.420
But then the Bible says that we should also be first fruits.

01:39:56.420 --> 01:39:59.420
And if you think about it, what is God wanting?

01:39:59.420 --> 01:40:06.420
God wants his people to be like a tithe and for us to be devoted and dedicated to him

01:40:06.420 --> 01:40:07.420
in this life.

01:40:08.420 --> 01:40:13.420
Not all the people, the saved people, to be a form of tithe and a form of a first fruit

01:40:13.420 --> 01:40:19.420
unto God that dedicates our lives to God and makes God the priority in our lives.

01:40:19.420 --> 01:40:23.420
And so, you know, the principle of tithing goes beyond just simply giving money to church.

01:40:23.420 --> 01:40:27.420
It pictures the Lord Jesus Christ in his sacrifice, but it also pictures what we should do with

01:40:27.420 --> 01:40:30.420
our lives, that we should dedicate our lives unto the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:40:30.420 --> 01:40:33.420
The person that won't even give money, how are they going to dedicate their whole life?

01:40:33.420 --> 01:40:37.420
How are they willing to give of their entire life and their entire substance?

01:40:37.420 --> 01:40:42.420
You know, we should be willing to not only give of our money, that's minimal.

01:40:42.420 --> 01:40:45.420
We should be willing to dedicate our lives to the things of God.

01:40:45.420 --> 01:40:49.420
We serve a great God and someone should, someone should dedicate themselves to the Lord.

01:40:49.420 --> 01:40:51.420
Someone should live for him.

01:40:51.420 --> 01:40:53.420
Someone should be a living sacrifice.

01:40:53.420 --> 01:40:55.420
Someone should be his disciple.

01:40:55.420 --> 01:41:00.420
Someone has to count it all but done that they may win Christ.

01:41:00.420 --> 01:41:01.420
And you know what?

01:41:01.420 --> 01:41:04.420
We have such a dark, disgusting, weird world.

01:41:04.420 --> 01:41:07.420
It deserves somebody to live for Jesus Christ.

01:41:07.420 --> 01:41:11.420
Let it be, you know, someone in this room that says, you know what?

01:41:11.420 --> 01:41:12.420
I want to be that tithe.

01:41:12.420 --> 01:41:15.420
I want to be that living sacrifice dedicated unto God.

01:41:15.420 --> 01:41:16.420
Let's close in prayer.

01:41:16.420 --> 01:41:18.420
Thank you, Father, so much for your word.

01:41:18.420 --> 01:41:19.420
Thank you so much for your sacrifice.

01:41:19.420 --> 01:41:20.420
Thank you for what you've given us.

01:41:20.420 --> 01:41:24.420
Thank you for your son, the Lord Jesus Christ, doing the hard work of the Lord Jesus Christ

01:41:24.420 --> 01:41:27.420
doing the hard thing, actually dying for us.

01:41:27.420 --> 01:41:33.420
I pray that we could see that example and we would be willing to give up our ties to the things of God.

01:41:33.420 --> 01:41:39.420
We're willing to live a life that pictures the first fruits and the sacrifice and the dedication to the things of God.

01:41:39.420 --> 01:41:44.420
I pray that you would help us to be blessed and that you would help bless this church for your honor,

01:41:44.420 --> 01:41:46.420
for your name, for your praise, for your glory.

01:41:46.420 --> 01:41:48.420
In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

01:41:54.420 --> 01:41:59.420
Amen. Our last song this evening, page 64 in your hymn books.

01:41:59.420 --> 01:42:03.420
Shall We Gather At The River, song number 64.

01:42:03.420 --> 01:42:06.420
Shall We Gather At The River.

01:42:12.420 --> 01:42:14.420
Song number 64.

01:42:14.420 --> 01:42:16.420
Let's all lift it up on that first now.

01:42:17.420 --> 01:42:27.420
Shall we gather at the river, where bright angels sing our song,

01:42:27.420 --> 01:42:37.420
with its crystal black forever flowing by the throne of God.

01:42:37.420 --> 01:42:47.420
Yes, we'll gather at the river, the beautiful, the beautiful river,

01:42:47.420 --> 01:42:57.420
gather in the saints at the river, that flows by the throne of God.

01:42:57.420 --> 01:43:07.420
On the both sides of the river, where the Savior King we own,

01:43:07.420 --> 01:43:17.420
we shall meet his power forever, keep the glory of the throne.

01:43:17.420 --> 01:43:27.420
Yes, we'll gather at the river, the beautiful, the beautiful river,

01:43:27.420 --> 01:43:37.420
gather with the saints at the river, that flows by the throne of God.

01:43:38.420 --> 01:43:48.420
Ere we reach the shining river, lay we every burden down,

01:43:48.420 --> 01:43:58.420
grace our spirits will deliver, and provide a roaming crown.

01:43:58.420 --> 01:44:08.420
Yes, we'll gather at the river, the beautiful, the beautiful river,

01:44:08.420 --> 01:44:17.420
gather with the saints at the river, that flows by the throne of God.

01:44:17.420 --> 01:44:19.420
Lift it up on the last.

01:44:19.420 --> 01:44:29.420
Soon we'll reach the shining river, soon our love for it will cease,

01:44:29.420 --> 01:44:39.420
soon our happy hearts will quiver, with the melody of peace.

01:44:39.420 --> 01:44:49.420
Yes, we'll gather at the river, the beautiful, the beautiful river,

01:44:49.420 --> 01:44:59.420
gather with the saints at the river, that flows by the throne of God.

01:44:59.420 --> 01:45:01.420
Amen, you're dismissed this evening.

01:45:09.420 --> 01:45:11.420
Thank you.

01:45:39.420 --> 01:45:41.420
Amen.

01:46:09.420 --> 01:46:11.420
Amen.

01:46:39.420 --> 01:46:41.420
Amen.

01:47:09.420 --> 01:47:11.420
Amen.

01:47:39.420 --> 01:47:41.420
Amen.

01:48:09.420 --> 01:48:11.420
Amen.
