WEBVTT

00:00.000 --> 00:10.000
For Thine love, redeemed or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

00:10.000 --> 00:17.000
Be Thou my wisdom and Thou my true word.

00:17.000 --> 00:24.000
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord.

00:24.000 --> 00:30.000
Be Thou my great Father, bear my light, true Son.

00:30.000 --> 00:37.000
Thou with me, dwell me, bear, die with me, one.

00:37.000 --> 00:44.000
Wraiths is I need not for men's empty praise.

00:44.000 --> 00:51.000
Thou my inherent essence, Thou and always.

00:51.000 --> 00:58.000
Thou and Thou only first in my heart.

00:58.000 --> 01:05.000
My King of heaven, my treasure Thou art.

01:05.000 --> 01:12.000
My King of heaven, my victory won.

01:12.000 --> 01:19.000
May I reach and destroy Thou bright and sun.

01:19.000 --> 01:26.000
Part of my own heart, whatever befall,

01:26.000 --> 01:34.000
Still be my vision, no ruler above.

01:35.000 --> 01:40.000
Father, our Father,

01:40.000 --> 01:45.000
Thou art the true truth's almighty hand,

01:45.000 --> 01:54.000
His form and beauty, all the starry day.

01:54.000 --> 02:04.000
The shining world is splendid through the sky.

02:04.000 --> 02:14.000
I pray in my song, before Thy throne arise,

02:14.000 --> 02:23.000
Thy love divine hath led us in the past.

02:23.000 --> 02:33.000
In this we bend, by Thee our love is best.

02:33.000 --> 02:43.000
We now are new, we're bright and bright and sane.

02:43.000 --> 02:53.000
Bright bird of all, life as our chosen way.

02:53.000 --> 03:03.000
From morts of arms, from deadly vessel lines,

03:03.000 --> 03:13.000
In thy tribe our ever-shining pledge,

03:13.000 --> 03:23.000
Thy truth be risen in our hearts in peace.

03:23.000 --> 03:33.000
My proudest good, lest there be shunned evil.

03:33.000 --> 03:43.000
Refresh the people on their twiltsome lane.

03:43.000 --> 03:53.000
Lead us from light to never-ending day.

03:53.000 --> 04:03.000
Fill all our lives with love and grace divine,

04:03.000 --> 04:15.000
To make glory come and grace be ever-high.

04:15.000 --> 04:24.000
Weave a story to tell to the nations that should learn,

04:24.000 --> 04:33.000
The story of truth and sweetness,

04:33.000 --> 04:41.000
The story of peace and love.

04:41.000 --> 04:46.000
When we're gone into the near and wide,

04:46.000 --> 04:50.000
When Christ's day comes upon us,

04:50.000 --> 04:55.000
We'll be back on the good and the right.

04:55.000 --> 05:00.000
Weave a song to be sung to the nations that should live,

05:00.000 --> 05:03.000
With their hearts filled with love,

05:03.000 --> 05:08.000
The song that shall cover the innermost,

05:08.000 --> 05:16.000
Children's song, and share the spirit's song.

05:16.000 --> 05:20.000
With our kids shall learn to fly,

05:20.000 --> 05:24.000
With the light to live and die,

05:24.000 --> 05:29.000
And Christ's day comes to find,

05:29.000 --> 05:33.000
That we never come and lie.

05:33.000 --> 05:39.000
Weave a message to give to the nations that will learn,

05:39.000 --> 05:42.000
The way and the life,

05:42.000 --> 05:45.000
And send us a song to sing,

05:45.000 --> 05:50.000
That's right, sure as the God is high,

05:50.000 --> 05:55.000
That's right, sure as the God is high,

05:55.000 --> 05:59.000
With the light to live and die,

05:59.000 --> 06:03.000
And Christ's day comes to find,

06:03.000 --> 06:07.000
That we never come and lie.

06:07.000 --> 06:12.000
Weave a savior to show to the nations

06:12.000 --> 06:16.000
That the power of song is strong,

06:16.000 --> 06:22.000
That all of the world's baby was my baby.

06:22.000 --> 06:27.000
That all of the world's baby was my baby.

06:27.000 --> 06:31.000
With the light to live and die,

06:31.000 --> 06:36.000
And Christ's day comes to find,

06:36.000 --> 06:42.000
That we never come and lie.

06:42.000 --> 06:46.000
With the light to live and die,

06:46.000 --> 06:50.000
And Christ's day comes to find,

06:50.000 --> 06:55.000
Tis the grandest thing for the ages from,

06:55.000 --> 06:59.000
Tis the grandest thing for our mortal time,

06:59.000 --> 07:03.000
Tis the grandest thing that the world has sung,

07:03.000 --> 07:07.000
Our God is able to deliver thee,

07:07.000 --> 07:11.000
He is able to deliver thee,

07:11.000 --> 07:15.000
He is able to deliver thee,

07:16.000 --> 07:20.000
Though my sin of wrath goes to Him,

07:20.000 --> 07:24.000
For best our God is able to deliver thee,

07:24.000 --> 07:28.000
Tis the grandest thing in the earth for me,

07:28.000 --> 07:32.000
Tis the grandest thing for our mortal strength,

07:32.000 --> 07:37.000
Tis the grandest thing to tell the world again,

07:37.000 --> 07:41.000
Our God is able to deliver thee,

07:41.000 --> 07:45.000
He is able to deliver thee,

07:45.000 --> 07:49.000
He is able to deliver thee,

07:49.000 --> 07:53.000
Though my sin of wrath goes to Him,

07:53.000 --> 07:58.000
For best our God is able to deliver thee,

07:58.000 --> 08:02.000
Tis the grandest thing that the tidings roll,

08:02.000 --> 08:06.000
To the guilty heart and to the sinful soul,

08:06.000 --> 08:10.000
Look to God in faith, He will make thee whole,

08:10.000 --> 08:14.000
Our God is able to deliver thee,

08:14.000 --> 08:18.000
He is able to deliver thee,

08:18.000 --> 08:22.000
He is able to deliver thee,

08:22.000 --> 08:26.000
Though my sin of wrath goes to Him,

08:26.000 --> 08:32.000
For best our God is able to deliver thee,

08:33.000 --> 08:39.000
I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore,

08:39.000 --> 08:46.000
Very deeply sink within, seeking to rise no more,

08:46.000 --> 08:53.000
But the master of the sea heard my despairing cry,

08:53.000 --> 08:57.000
From the waters lifted me, asking me,

08:57.000 --> 09:02.000
When I think of my father and me,

09:02.000 --> 09:09.000
Father and me, when nothing else could help,

09:09.000 --> 09:16.000
Father and me, father and me,

09:16.000 --> 09:23.000
Father and me, when nothing else could help,

09:23.000 --> 09:30.000
Father and me, all my heart to Him I give,

09:30.000 --> 09:33.000
Ever to Him I'll cling,

09:33.000 --> 09:40.000
In His blessing, precious thing, ever His praise I sing,

09:40.000 --> 09:43.000
Love so mighty and so true,

09:43.000 --> 09:47.000
There is my soul bestowed,

09:47.000 --> 09:51.000
With the loving service due to Him,

09:52.000 --> 09:59.000
Father and me, father and me,

10:00.000 --> 10:06.000
Father and me, when nothing else could help,

10:06.000 --> 10:13.000
Father and me, father and me,

10:43.000 --> 10:49.000
We are saved, we're on to lead this day today.

10:49.000 --> 10:56.000
Love lives in me, love lives in me.

10:56.000 --> 11:03.000
When nothing else could help, love lives in me.

11:03.000 --> 11:09.000
Love lives in me, love lives in me.

11:09.000 --> 11:24.000
When nothing else could help, love lives in me.

11:24.000 --> 11:34.000
King of my life, I crown thee now, thy children will be me.

11:34.000 --> 11:43.000
Lest I forget thy thorn crowned brow, lead me to Calvary.

11:43.000 --> 11:52.000
Lest I forget deciminy, lest I forget thy agony,

11:52.000 --> 12:01.000
lest I forget thy love for me, lead me to Calvary.

12:01.000 --> 12:10.000
Show me the tomb where thou must lay, tenderly morn and red.

12:10.000 --> 12:19.000
Angels in hope to bide away, guard it with host of scent.

12:19.000 --> 12:28.000
Lest I forget deciminy, lest I forget thy agony,

12:28.000 --> 12:37.000
lest I forget thy love for me, lead me to Calvary.

12:37.000 --> 12:46.000
Let me like Mary through the gloom, I'll make the gift to thee.

12:46.000 --> 12:55.000
Show to me now the empty tomb, lead me to Calvary.

12:55.000 --> 13:04.000
Lest I forget deciminy, lest I forget thy agony,

13:04.000 --> 13:12.000
lest I forget thy love for me, lead me to Calvary.

13:12.000 --> 13:22.000
All the last, may I be dilly-dallored to there, daily my cross for thee.

13:22.000 --> 13:31.000
Leave and let the blood bring to share, thou that's born all for me.

13:31.000 --> 13:40.000
Lest I forget deciminy, lest I forget thy agony,

13:40.000 --> 13:50.000
lest I forget thy love for me, lead me to Calvary.

13:50.000 --> 14:03.000
How wonderful, Savior, is Jesus, thy Lord! How wonderful, Savior, to be!

14:03.000 --> 14:15.000
He hided my soul in the cleft of the rock, where rivers of pleasure I see.

14:15.000 --> 14:28.000
He hided my soul in the cleft of the rock, that shadows a dry thirsty land.

14:28.000 --> 14:41.000
He hided my life in the depths of his love, and covers me there with his hand.

14:41.000 --> 14:47.000
And covers me there with his hand.

14:47.000 --> 15:00.000
How wonderful, Savior, is Jesus, thy Lord! He taketh my burden away.

15:00.000 --> 15:13.000
He roamed me up, and I shall not be burned. He giveth me strength of each day.

15:13.000 --> 15:26.000
He hided my soul in the cleft of the rock, that shadows a dry thirsty land.

15:26.000 --> 15:39.000
He hided my life in the depths of his love, and covers me there with his hand.

15:39.000 --> 15:45.000
And covers me there with his hand.

15:45.000 --> 15:58.000
With numberless blessings each moment we crowned, and filled with his fullness divine.

15:58.000 --> 16:11.000
I sing in my rapture of glory to God, for such a Redeemer as Thou.

16:11.000 --> 16:24.000
He hided my soul in the cleft of the rock, that shadows a dry thirsty land.

16:24.000 --> 16:38.000
He hided my life in the depths of his love, and covers me there with his hand.

16:38.000 --> 16:43.000
And covers me there with his hand.

16:43.000 --> 16:48.000
All the less now, when clothed in his brightness,

16:48.000 --> 16:57.000
more did I rise to meet him in clouds of the sky.

16:57.000 --> 17:04.000
His perfect salvation, his wonderful love,

17:04.000 --> 17:11.000
sing out the sound with the billions on high.

17:11.000 --> 17:24.000
He hided my soul in the cleft of the rock, that shadows a dry thirsty land.

17:24.000 --> 17:38.000
He hided my life in the depths of his love, and covers me there with his hand.

17:38.000 --> 17:46.000
And covers me there with his hand.

17:46.000 --> 18:01.000
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, there's just something about that name.

18:01.000 --> 18:17.000
Master, Savior, Jesus, find the fragrance after the rain.

18:17.000 --> 18:32.000
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all hell and earth proclaim.

18:32.000 --> 18:49.000
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away, but there's something about that name.

18:49.000 --> 18:58.000
Oh, now I see the crimson wave, the mountain deep and wide.

18:58.000 --> 19:06.000
Jesus, my Lord, my Jesus, say, moisture his wounded side.

19:06.000 --> 19:14.000
The cleansing stream I see, I see, I'm cleansed, and all it cleanseth me.

19:14.000 --> 19:23.000
Oh, praise the Lord, it cleanseth me, it cleanseth me, yes, cleanseth me.

19:23.000 --> 19:31.000
I see the new creation rise, I hear the speaking blood.

19:31.000 --> 19:38.000
It speaks polluted nature, dives, sings in the crimson flood.

19:38.000 --> 19:46.000
The cleansing stream I see, I see, I'm cleansed, and all it cleanseth me.

19:46.000 --> 19:55.000
Oh, praise the Lord, it cleanseth me, it cleanseth me, yes, cleanseth me.

19:55.000 --> 20:02.000
I rise and walk in heavens of light above the world and sin,

20:02.000 --> 20:10.000
with hearts made pure and garments fine and Christ the throne within.

20:10.000 --> 20:17.000
The cleansing stream I see, I see, I'm cleansed, and all it cleanseth me.

20:17.000 --> 20:25.000
Oh, praise the Lord, it cleanseth me, it cleanseth me, yes, cleanseth me.

20:25.000 --> 20:27.000
All the last.

20:27.000 --> 20:34.000
Come, praise, ye praise, ye still be known to fill the blood of life.

20:34.000 --> 20:41.000
Hail, Jesus, oh, we're Jesus known, by Jesus crucified.

20:41.000 --> 20:49.000
The cleansing stream I see, I see, I'm cleansed, and all it cleanseth me.

20:49.000 --> 20:58.000
Oh, praise the Lord, it cleanseth me, it cleanseth me, yes, cleanseth me.

20:59.000 --> 21:07.000
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,

21:07.000 --> 21:15.000
with the cross of Jesus growing on below.

21:15.000 --> 21:23.000
Christ the royal master, please, against the foe,

21:23.000 --> 21:31.000
forward into battle, see his banner go.

21:31.000 --> 21:39.000
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,

21:39.000 --> 21:47.000
with the cross of Jesus growing on before.

21:47.000 --> 21:55.000
At the sight of triumph, Satan's host of three.

21:55.000 --> 22:03.000
Onward, Christian soldiers, on to victory.

22:03.000 --> 22:11.000
The salvation's quiver at the shout of praise.

22:12.000 --> 22:20.000
Brothers, with your voices, how your friend comes praise.

22:20.000 --> 22:28.000
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,

22:28.000 --> 22:36.000
with the cross of Jesus growing on before.

22:36.000 --> 22:44.000
Like a mighty army, curves the church of God.

22:44.000 --> 22:52.000
Brothers, we are praying, with our sins and trust,

22:52.000 --> 22:56.000
we are not divided.

23:07.000 --> 23:12.000
Good afternoon, everyone.

23:12.000 --> 23:14.000
It's great to see everybody here tonight.

23:14.000 --> 23:17.000
If we can find our seats, we will get started with this afternoon's service.

23:17.000 --> 23:22.000
Once you've found a seat, let's grab a hymnal and go to song number 164 together.

23:27.000 --> 23:31.000
Song number 164.

23:32.000 --> 23:40.000
Song 164. Praise him, praise him.

23:40.000 --> 23:42.000
And let's all sing that out together.

23:42.000 --> 23:49.000
Praise him, praise him, Jesus, our blessed Redeemer.

23:49.000 --> 23:56.000
Sing, O earth, this wonderful love proclaims.

23:56.000 --> 24:03.000
Hail him, hail him, highest army, glory.

24:03.000 --> 24:10.000
On earth and on earth, give to his holy name.

24:10.000 --> 24:17.000
Like a shepherd, Jesus will bow his children.

24:17.000 --> 24:24.000
In his arms he carries them all day long.

24:24.000 --> 24:31.000
Praise him, praise him, telepathy's excellent greatness.

24:31.000 --> 24:38.000
Praise him, praise him, ever in joyful song.

24:38.000 --> 24:45.000
Praise him, praise him, Jesus, our blessed Redeemer.

24:45.000 --> 24:52.000
For our sins he's suffered and bled and died.

24:52.000 --> 24:59.000
He our rock, our hope, our eternal salvation.

24:59.000 --> 25:06.000
Hail him, hail him, Jesus, our crucified.

25:06.000 --> 25:13.000
Love his praises, Jesus, through four arms sorrows.

25:13.000 --> 25:20.000
Love unbounded, wonderful, deep and strong.

25:20.000 --> 25:27.000
Praise him, praise him, telepathy's excellent greatness.

25:27.000 --> 25:34.000
Praise him, praise him, ever in joyful song.

25:34.000 --> 25:41.000
Praise him, praise him, Jesus, our blessed Redeemer.

25:41.000 --> 25:48.000
Heavenly portals clouded with those hands ring.

25:48.000 --> 25:55.000
Jesus, Savior, reigneth forever and ever.

25:55.000 --> 26:02.000
Crown him, crown him, prophet and priest and king.

26:02.000 --> 26:09.000
Christ is coming over the world victorious.

26:09.000 --> 26:16.000
Power and glory unto the Lord belong.

26:16.000 --> 26:23.000
Praise him, praise him, telepathy's excellent greatness.

26:23.000 --> 26:30.000
Praise him, praise him, ever in joyful song.

26:46.000 --> 26:51.000
Amen.

26:51.000 --> 26:56.000
Amen.

26:56.000 --> 27:01.000
Amen.

27:01.000 --> 27:06.000
Amen.

27:06.000 --> 27:11.000
Amen.

27:11.000 --> 27:18.000
I sing the mighty power of God. If you know it well, let's all sing it out.

27:18.000 --> 27:23.000
I sing the mighty power of God.

27:23.000 --> 27:26.000
And let's all sing that out together.

27:26.000 --> 27:35.000
I sing the mighty power of God that made the mountains rise.

27:35.000 --> 27:44.000
That spread the flowing seas abroad and built the lofty skies.

27:44.000 --> 27:54.000
I sing the wisdom that ordained the sun to rule the day.

27:54.000 --> 28:04.000
The moonshine's full act is the hand when all the stars obey.

28:04.000 --> 28:13.000
I sing the goodness of the Lord that filled the earth with good.

28:13.000 --> 28:23.000
He formed the creatures with his word and then pronounced them good.

28:23.000 --> 28:32.000
Lord, how thy wonders are displayed where'er I turn my eyes.

28:32.000 --> 28:41.000
If I survey the ground, I tread for days upon the sky.

28:41.000 --> 28:51.000
There's not a plant or flower below, but makes thy glories flow.

28:51.000 --> 29:00.000
And clouds arise and tempest flow by order of thy call.

29:01.000 --> 29:10.000
While all the borrows lie from thee is ever in my care.

29:10.000 --> 29:20.000
And everywhere that man can be, thou, God, art present there.

29:20.000 --> 29:26.000
Praise the King.

29:26.000 --> 29:28.000
Thanks for coming to St. Vas Baptist Church.

29:28.000 --> 29:31.000
If you did not get a bulletin already, you can lift your hand up nice and high.

29:31.000 --> 29:34.000
One of our ushers can come by and get you guys a bulletin.

29:34.000 --> 29:38.000
On the front we have our Bible memory passage, Romans 10 verse 17.

29:38.000 --> 29:44.000
And we're working on making some new books to replace our black Psalm and Hymn binders.

29:44.000 --> 29:46.000
So I hope you like those.

29:46.000 --> 29:49.000
It should have all the Psalms and Hymns we're working on.

29:49.000 --> 29:53.000
It's got a couple of our end times charts that we had at the very back of them.

29:53.000 --> 29:55.000
And so they're ready for Easter.

29:55.000 --> 29:57.000
Hopefully we'll have them out there.

29:57.000 --> 30:01.000
And those that are part of our music group should be able to take some home.

30:01.000 --> 30:04.000
So definitely some we've been working on.

30:04.000 --> 30:05.000
A lot of work.

30:05.000 --> 30:06.000
Brother Rich helped us.

30:06.000 --> 30:07.000
Brother Tanner helped us a lot.

30:07.000 --> 30:09.000
So thank you to those who worked on that.

30:09.000 --> 30:11.000
I think they look really, really nice.

30:11.000 --> 30:15.000
If you do notice there's a problem or mistake or whatever, you can always point it out.

30:15.000 --> 30:20.000
I think our goal or plan is that maybe like once a year we'll kind of like make a new version.

30:20.000 --> 30:24.000
So all the different songs or hymns that we collect throughout the year,

30:24.000 --> 30:28.000
we can end up making a new version every year and then just keep adding to.

30:28.000 --> 30:33.000
And so hopefully we'll just keep adding to our Psalms and Hymns and spiritual songs.

30:33.000 --> 30:36.000
On the inside we have our service and soul winning times.

30:36.000 --> 30:40.000
Down below is our church stats and the right is the expecting ladies list.

30:40.000 --> 30:42.000
Several ladies to be in prayer for.

30:42.000 --> 30:45.000
We had a big Barbados scouting trip, 352 salvations.

30:45.000 --> 30:47.000
And that's awesome.

30:47.000 --> 30:55.000
We are planning on doing another church trip September 7th through the 12th.

30:55.000 --> 31:03.000
And so if you are interested in participating, I believe we have an event already created on godresource.com.

31:03.000 --> 31:05.000
You can go ahead and register.

31:05.000 --> 31:09.000
If you have questions, you can just email us, ask evangelist Fer or myself.

31:09.000 --> 31:14.000
I don't know that we necessarily have that many answers yet, but you can always just ask.

31:14.000 --> 31:16.000
And we'll try to get back to you about that.

31:16.000 --> 31:23.000
But the goal is to go out there for the whole week, God willing, whatever appointments and whatever open doors are there.

31:23.000 --> 31:25.000
We're hoping to get into some of the schools.

31:25.000 --> 31:31.000
We got a lot of contacts and stuff down there, but there's a university you can go preaching at.

31:31.000 --> 31:35.000
Even if the schools didn't let you in directly, one of the things that we did in the Bahamas,

31:35.000 --> 31:40.000
we just kind of waited near where a lot of the kids were let out after school.

31:40.000 --> 31:46.000
And that ended up being a great opportunity to just capture a lot of different students as they were leaving,

31:46.000 --> 31:49.000
give them the gospel, helped us get a lot of people saved in the Bahamas.

31:49.000 --> 31:54.000
And so I assume that we're going to be able to do a lot of the similar things in Barbados.

31:54.000 --> 31:58.000
So if you are planning on attending, it should be a very fruitful trip.

31:58.000 --> 32:01.000
And of course, we'll have some fun along the way.

32:01.000 --> 32:09.000
My wife said that she found a website where you can ride horses into the ocean and you can even like swim with the horses or something.

32:09.000 --> 32:15.000
I don't know. So I guess it's a step up because I think the Bahamas was like with the pigs or something.

32:15.000 --> 32:19.000
So now we're now we're getting a little step up to the horses.

32:19.000 --> 32:25.000
All right. So maybe that's safer because you ride the horse, you fall off the horse and you land on the ground.

32:25.000 --> 32:28.000
That might hurt be fall in the ocean. Maybe it's just like a little bit gentler.

32:28.000 --> 32:32.000
I don't know. But you can look that up for yourself.

32:32.000 --> 32:36.000
Other upcoming events is Easter is coming up this Sunday, April 5th.

32:36.000 --> 32:39.000
We do have our mega marathon the day before.

32:39.000 --> 32:42.000
It does look like there might be some rain in the morning.

32:42.000 --> 32:45.000
We're still going to try and have our event as scheduled as planned.

32:45.000 --> 32:49.000
So just think about that. We're going to have breakfast here.

32:49.000 --> 32:53.000
Nine a.m. We'll go out for a couple hours. We'll have lunch here as well.

32:53.000 --> 32:58.000
So if you want to come out, even if you just want to come out for the lunch portion, you're welcome to show up for lunch and go out.

32:58.000 --> 33:02.000
So in the afternoon as well. But we're looking to have a big push for soul winning.

33:02.000 --> 33:06.000
Most of the soul winning should be about 15, 20 minutes from the church building.

33:06.000 --> 33:11.000
So we should be able to hit a lot of the areas that are not too far from church.

33:11.000 --> 33:15.000
And then we'll have our Easter services Sunday.

33:15.000 --> 33:18.000
We have our kids choir performing that Sunday morning.

33:18.000 --> 33:21.000
And so you definitely don't want to miss Sunday night.

33:21.000 --> 33:25.000
We're going to do the Lord's Supper. So we're going to be doing our Lord's Supper on Sunday night.

33:25.000 --> 33:29.000
I feel like that's to accommodate the most participation.

33:29.000 --> 33:33.000
Typically, we have a little bit more participation than we would on a Wednesday.

33:33.000 --> 33:37.000
So we are planning on having our Lord's Supper on that Sunday evening.

33:37.000 --> 33:41.000
Also, there's an anti-Azure conference May 20th through the 24th.

33:41.000 --> 33:44.000
You can register online at the God Resource site.

33:44.000 --> 33:47.000
If you didn't sign up for the mega marathon, you can still.

33:47.000 --> 33:49.000
I think there was like over 80 people already signed up.

33:49.000 --> 33:52.000
And so we're really looking forward to having a good event.

33:52.000 --> 33:56.000
We're going to go through our prayer lists here on the back.

33:56.000 --> 33:58.000
Please continue to pray for the Garcia's for health.

33:58.000 --> 34:01.000
Please pray for Brother Sewell's mother for her health.

34:01.000 --> 34:05.000
We're praying for Brother Billy's mother, who's having surgery tomorrow.

34:05.000 --> 34:08.000
So please be in prayer for her on that.

34:08.000 --> 34:15.000
Also, his cousin and their family is dealing with a death and also some some of their family issues.

34:15.000 --> 34:18.000
If you pray for his son as well, please pray for the Spurgeons for work.

34:18.000 --> 34:22.000
Please pray for the Urbannic family for their baby and health.

34:22.000 --> 34:30.000
We're also praying. I think we have a praise report on the Canary's brother, Elliot, at least that he said that he believed he was saved.

34:30.000 --> 34:35.000
So that's great news. We're still praying for his health and then also for the Benzins.

34:35.000 --> 34:41.000
If you pray for Brother Jameson, who's in the Philippines, and then just pray for our Barbados trip.

34:41.000 --> 34:44.000
So that's pretty much all I have as far as announcements in the prayer list.

34:44.000 --> 34:47.000
But we'll say a quick word of prayers. The church family.

34:47.000 --> 34:49.000
Thank you, Father, so much for our church.

34:49.000 --> 34:53.000
Thank you so much for all these expecting ladies.

34:53.000 --> 34:57.000
I pray that you'd please just bless them. Please bless their pregnancies. Please help them with their birth.

34:57.000 --> 35:03.000
Give them a timely birth. I pray that you would also just bless our upcoming missions, trips and our conferences.

35:03.000 --> 35:06.000
Please bless our evangelists over in the Philippines.

35:06.000 --> 35:10.000
I pray that you would be very accommodating to them. Help them be fruitful.

35:10.000 --> 35:13.000
Please help them to be able to get a lot of work done.

35:13.000 --> 35:16.000
Please continue to encourage their spirit over there.

35:16.000 --> 35:19.000
I pray that you would bless our upcoming work coming in the future.

35:19.000 --> 35:24.000
I pray that you would please bless our church family that needs health or these chronic health issues.

35:24.000 --> 35:28.000
I pray that you give favor. Please be a blessing to them. Please bless upcoming surgery.

35:28.000 --> 35:32.000
I pray that you would also just bless those that need work or favor right now.

35:32.000 --> 35:37.000
And I pray that you would just continue to use our church to be a bright and shining light for the gospel.

35:37.000 --> 35:39.000
In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

35:39.000 --> 35:41.000
That's pretty much all I have as far as announcements.

35:41.000 --> 35:44.000
We're going to go ahead and sing our third song. It's our Psalm of the Week.

35:44.000 --> 35:54.000
Psalm 148. So you can turn in your new Psalm hymns, booklets, and you can turn to Psalm 148.

35:54.000 --> 35:56.000
Sing it out nice and loud.

35:56.000 --> 36:08.000
All right.

36:08.000 --> 36:16.000
That's Psalm 148. You can find that on page number 17 and number 18, Psalm 148.

36:16.000 --> 36:22.000
Let's all sing that out together.

36:22.000 --> 36:49.000
Praise be the Lord, praise be the Lord from the heavens. Praise him in the highest. Praise him, all his angels. Praise him, all his souls. Praise him, son of good. Praise him, all his stars of light.

36:49.000 --> 37:05.000
Praise him in the heavens of heavens. And he waters that be above the heavens. Let them praise the name of the Lord.

37:05.000 --> 37:16.000
For he commanded them that he were created, he hath also established them.

37:16.000 --> 37:34.000
Forever and ever be that faith of the free, which shall not last. Praise the Lord from the earth.

38:04.000 --> 38:17.000
The kings of the earth and all people, princes and all judges of the earth, both young men and maiden,

38:17.000 --> 38:27.000
old men and children, let them praise the name of the Lord.

38:27.000 --> 38:50.000
For his name alone is excellent, his glory is above the earth. And heaven, he also exalted the one of his people.

38:50.000 --> 39:10.000
The praise of all his saints, even of the children of Israel, of people near unto him. Praise he the Lord.

39:10.000 --> 39:12.000
Praise the Lord.

39:40.000 --> 39:42.000
Praise the Lord.

40:10.000 --> 40:35.000
Deuteronomy chapter number 24, the Bible reads, When a man hath taken a wife and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favor in his eyes because he hath found some uncleanness in her, then let him write her a bill of divorcement and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.

40:35.000 --> 40:58.000
And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife. And if the latter husband hate her and write her a bill of divorcement and give it her hand, and sendeth her out of his house, or if the latter husband die, would she took her to be his wife, her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled, for that is abomination before the Lord.

40:58.000 --> 41:13.000
And thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for in inheritance. When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business, but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife, which he hath taken.

41:13.000 --> 41:30.000
No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone to pledge, for he hath taketh a man's life to pledge. If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, maketh merchandise of him, or selleth them, then that thief shall die, and thou shalt put away evil from among you.

41:30.000 --> 41:45.000
Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you, as I commanded them so ye shall observe to do. Remember what the Lord thy God did into Miriam, by the way, after that ye were come forth out of Egypt.

41:45.000 --> 42:10.000
When thou dost lend thy brother anything, thou shalt not go into his house to fetch his pledge. Thou shalt stand abroad, and the man to whom thou dost lend shall bring out the pledge abroad unto thee. And if the man be poor, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge. In any case, thou shalt deliver him the pledge again when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his own raiment and bless thee. And it shall be righteousness unto thee before the Lord thy God.

42:10.000 --> 42:29.000
Thou shalt not oppress a hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates. At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shalt the sun go down upon it, for he is poor and setteth his heart upon it, lest he cry against thee unto the Lord, and it be sin unto thee.

42:29.000 --> 42:59.000
The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers. Every man shall be put to death for his own sin. Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of the stranger nor of the fatherless, nor take a widow's raiment to pledge. But thou shalt remember that thou was a bondman in Egypt, and the Lord thy God redeemed thee thence. Therefore I command thee to do this thing. When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field and thou forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it. It shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow, that the Lord thy God

42:59.000 --> 43:29.000
may bless thee in all the work of thine hands. When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the bows again. It shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow. When thou gathers the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it afterward. It shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow. And thou shalt remember that thou was a bondman in the land of Egypt. Therefore I command thee to do this thing. Let us pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for this chapter of the Bible. Thank you for this church. Thank you for all the soldiers that are getting sick.

43:29.000 --> 43:39.000
I pray that you are saved. I just pray that you would bless Pastor Shelley, fill him with your spirit as he preached unto us. Help us to make applications from the Bible to become better Christians, and I pray this in Jesus' name, amen.

43:39.000 --> 43:55.000
Amen. Deuteronomy 24, I feel like has a theme where we kind of talk about people who are in an undesirable situation or undesirable in certain contexts. And so it's kind of a dealing with the undesirables of society in many cases.

43:55.000 --> 44:12.000
Here in verse one it says, When a man hath taken a wife and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favor in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her, then let him write her a bill of divorcement and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.

44:12.000 --> 44:16.000
And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife.

44:16.000 --> 44:33.000
Now, here in Deuteronomy 24, this particular statute ends up being twisted by the Pharisees and the religious teachers of Jesus Christ Day to suggest the idea that, can I divorce my wife or put away my wife for every cause?

44:33.000 --> 44:36.000
And the answer is obviously no.

44:36.000 --> 44:44.000
Now Jesus Christ, when initially asked that particular question in the New Testament, he says, What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

44:44.000 --> 44:51.000
He says, From the beginning, God created them male and female, and since God has joined them together, they should not be separated whatsoever.

44:51.000 --> 44:57.000
Then they kind of reference, Hey, doesn't Moses say that you can put away your wife?

44:57.000 --> 45:03.000
And Jesus is basically saying, Because of the hardness of your hearts, he wrote unto you this precept.

45:03.000 --> 45:06.000
But from the beginning, it was not so.

45:06.000 --> 45:15.000
And then he explains that if you put away your wife, saving for the cause of fornication, you're causing her to commit adultery.

45:15.000 --> 45:20.000
This is also mentioned in Mark, where it uses both sides of the equation.

45:20.000 --> 45:25.000
If a woman puts away her husband, then she's causing him to commit adultery.

45:25.000 --> 45:30.000
If a husband puts away his wife, he's causing her to commit adultery.

45:30.000 --> 45:40.000
Now, of course, this is a I would argue a second degree form of adultery or a lesser form of adultery than what the Bible clearly articulates.

45:40.000 --> 45:48.000
The death penalty would be applied to someone that gets divorced and ends up marrying someone else would have never received the death penalty, according to the Bible.

45:48.000 --> 45:50.000
However, it is a form of adultery.

45:50.000 --> 45:55.000
And of course, most sins in the Bible have different degrees, different levels, different context.

45:55.000 --> 45:58.000
There's like first degree murder, second degree murder.

45:58.000 --> 46:02.000
There's accidental homicide or negligent homicide.

46:02.000 --> 46:05.000
There's different ways that someone could die in the same way.

46:05.000 --> 46:12.000
There's adultery, someone that's married and and commits adultery that would receive the death penalty, according to the Bible.

46:12.000 --> 46:22.000
And whereas we have different even layers and different degrees, whereas divorce, while it's a form of adultery, it's not the same that would receive a criminal punishment.

46:23.000 --> 46:29.000
Now, here in this statute, we have to understand that Jesus Christ says in the New Testament explicitly saving for the cause of fornication.

46:29.000 --> 46:31.000
Now, I'm not going to that place.

46:31.000 --> 46:33.000
I'm not going to go to all these verses for sake of time.

46:33.000 --> 46:38.000
But many modern versions will say because of immorality, which again is vague.

46:38.000 --> 46:40.000
It's confusing.

46:40.000 --> 46:43.000
And of course, then they just insert everything.

46:43.000 --> 46:47.000
They just basically insert everything, which then literally makes it for every cause again.

46:47.000 --> 46:53.000
And so, you know, I've heard all kinds of pastors say there's like four A's, adultery and abandonment and abuse.

46:53.000 --> 46:55.000
And I don't even know what the fourth one was.

46:55.000 --> 46:56.000
I got lost by it.

46:56.000 --> 47:05.000
But whenever you insert the abuse one, that's usually anything or even the abandonment, because they won't take those to a literal definition.

47:05.000 --> 47:10.000
Even they would simply say, well, he's emotionally abusing me.

47:10.000 --> 47:14.000
Well, he he mentally abandoned me.

47:14.000 --> 47:16.000
And it's like, how did he mentally abandon you?

47:16.000 --> 47:17.000
Well, he's at work all day.

47:17.000 --> 47:21.000
And sometimes when I call, he doesn't even answer.

47:21.000 --> 47:23.000
I mean, case closed, right?

47:23.000 --> 47:25.000
Abandonment, right?

47:25.000 --> 47:27.000
It's just an insert anything that you want.

47:27.000 --> 47:29.000
Insert any kind of idea.

47:29.000 --> 47:33.000
And you can basically make it fit with these modern ideas, modern context.

47:33.000 --> 47:34.000
Why?

47:34.000 --> 47:36.000
Because they just want to believe in divorce.

47:36.000 --> 47:43.000
You got many modern churches today, many non-denominational churches today, and they will divorce and remarry without even a second thought to it.

47:44.000 --> 47:48.000
And the pastors will even engage in the ceremonies.

47:48.000 --> 47:50.000
They'll probably even recommend a divorce lawyer for you.

47:50.000 --> 47:52.000
OK, I'm totally against this.

47:52.000 --> 47:56.000
I believe that you should never divorce for any reason, period.

47:56.000 --> 48:00.000
And really, if we understood the statute, it's not really explaining a divorce.

48:00.000 --> 48:02.000
It's more explaining an annulment.

48:02.000 --> 48:07.000
Now, the annulment here is what we kind of use in our modern vernacular to understand.

48:07.000 --> 48:12.000
There's some kind of a fraud or something that was mishappened at the marriage.

48:12.000 --> 48:15.000
And so they essentially just annul the marriage.

48:15.000 --> 48:17.000
And it's just it's like the contract doesn't go through.

48:17.000 --> 48:23.000
Now, he finds some uncleanness in her could could be a little bit broad.

48:23.000 --> 48:25.000
And I get that it could be a couple scenarios.

48:25.000 --> 48:30.000
Number one, it could just be simply thought she was a virgin and maybe she wasn't.

48:30.000 --> 48:33.000
And so as a result there, that's some level of uncleanness.

48:34.000 --> 48:39.000
It's probably more likely what it's referring to is there's probably some kind of sickness

48:39.000 --> 48:45.000
or disease involved in this particular situation, which he wouldn't have known until this particular

48:45.000 --> 48:47.000
point in the ceremony.

48:47.000 --> 48:50.000
And so therefore it's like, OK, that's not what I want.

48:50.000 --> 48:52.000
And he decides to put her away.

48:52.000 --> 48:58.000
Now, as a result, she can end up getting married again, but she can't return to him.

48:58.000 --> 48:59.000
And that's a verse number three.

48:59.000 --> 49:04.000
But I want to make it clear that this is not saying for adultery because the adultery was

49:04.000 --> 49:07.000
the death penalty that's already been covered in Deuteronomy.

49:07.000 --> 49:09.000
It's not for other subjects.

49:09.000 --> 49:14.000
It's for simply fornication, which fornication is prior to marriage.

49:14.000 --> 49:16.000
So this isn't something that happened after the marriage.

49:16.000 --> 49:20.000
And in fact, according to the Bible, if she is a virgin, you can't put her away.

49:20.000 --> 49:27.000
Look at back at chapter twenty two and we'll read here in verse number thirteen.

49:27.000 --> 49:31.000
If any man take a wife and go in under her and hate her and give occasions of speech against her

49:31.000 --> 49:34.000
and bring up an evil name upon her and say, I took this woman.

49:34.000 --> 49:36.000
And when I came to her, I found her not a maid.

49:36.000 --> 49:41.000
Then shall the father of the damsel and her mother take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity

49:41.000 --> 49:43.000
under the elder of the city in the gate.

49:43.000 --> 49:47.000
And the damsel's father shall say, and the elders, I gave my daughter under this man to wife.

49:47.000 --> 49:53.000
And he hated her and low yet given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not my daughter a maid.

49:53.000 --> 49:56.000
And yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity.

49:56.000 --> 50:02.000
And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city and the elders of that city shall take and that man and chastise them.

50:02.000 --> 50:05.000
And they shall immerse them in a hundred shekels of silver and give them under the father of the damsel

50:05.000 --> 50:08.000
because he has brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel.

50:08.000 --> 50:10.000
And she shall be his wife.

50:10.000 --> 50:15.000
Notice this. And he may not put her away all his days.

50:15.000 --> 50:22.000
So according to the Bible, if you married a virgin, there is literally no legal way to divorce your wife or to put her away.

50:22.000 --> 50:25.000
He tried to do it. He tried to divorce his wife.

50:25.000 --> 50:31.000
He's trying to put her away, but he can't legally because of the fact that she was a virgin.

50:31.000 --> 50:33.000
And so there's no legal recourse here.

50:33.000 --> 50:39.000
Of course, if she was found guilty, it would have resulted in a literal putting away or should have been put six feet under.

50:39.000 --> 50:45.000
However, we understand that in this particular scenario, there is no provision for her to be put away.

50:45.000 --> 50:49.000
If you've married a virgin, it's till death do you part.

50:49.000 --> 50:50.000
OK, literally.

50:51.000 --> 50:55.000
And so in twenty four, it's kind of giving another scenario.

50:55.000 --> 51:01.000
Now, why have the duplication or why have what seems like is a duplication or the repetitive nature?

51:01.000 --> 51:03.000
Well, I believe these are slightly two different scenarios.

51:03.000 --> 51:09.000
Number one, the first scenario is that the for sure there was a pretext that she was a virgin.

51:09.000 --> 51:11.000
That's the pretext.

51:11.000 --> 51:14.000
And in verse twenty four, that may not necessarily be the case.

51:14.000 --> 51:21.000
He may know like, hey, I'm not a virgin, but he doesn't necessarily know how how bad it is or whatever.

51:21.000 --> 51:24.000
And then upon the marriage, he ends up changing his mind.

51:24.000 --> 51:26.000
He ends up deciding no.

51:26.000 --> 51:38.000
And so that's why it's in this scenario also brought up as an alternative, as a different scenario, because if he goes into a marriage knowing she's not a virgin, that's not even on the table.

51:38.000 --> 51:40.000
He can't exercise Deuteronomy twenty two.

51:40.000 --> 51:42.000
That's not even available to him.

51:42.000 --> 51:55.000
So this is a secondary option that was provided by Moses for the hardness of their hearts that a man would not want to take, quote, damaged goods or a woman that was lesser than what he had perceived.

51:55.000 --> 51:58.000
But again, that's that's the hardness of his heart.

51:58.000 --> 52:05.000
You know, the Bible talks about Joseph thinking about putting away his wife, Mary.

52:05.000 --> 52:06.000
Why?

52:06.000 --> 52:08.000
Because she was found with child.

52:08.000 --> 52:12.000
So that's some uncleanness in her in the engagement period.

52:12.000 --> 52:15.000
They were betrothed one to another.

52:15.000 --> 52:20.000
And the Bible says him being a just man thought to put her away, privilege.

52:20.000 --> 52:22.000
Now, what is just?

52:22.000 --> 52:24.000
It's just this.

52:24.000 --> 52:25.000
It's what's right.

52:25.000 --> 52:26.000
It's what's the law.

52:26.000 --> 52:28.000
But here's the thing.

52:28.000 --> 52:32.000
Doing the law isn't always necessarily the highest level of righteousness.

52:32.000 --> 52:37.000
You can go above what's lawful and do something that's above.

52:37.000 --> 52:41.000
This would be mercy, longsuffering, grace or charitable.

52:41.000 --> 52:45.000
So if you give somebody what they deserve, that's justice.

52:45.000 --> 52:48.000
If you don't give somebody what they deserve, that's mercy.

52:48.000 --> 52:53.000
Joseph willing to put her away was going to give her justice.

52:53.000 --> 52:58.000
Now, again, even in that justice, he was still being somewhat compassionate in the sense that he was going to do it.

52:58.000 --> 52:59.000
Privilege.

52:59.000 --> 53:03.000
However, he was not necessarily being as merciful as he could.

53:03.000 --> 53:12.000
He could have still allowed her to be his wife, where we see in Oseya, the book of Oseya, his wife does commit adultery against him and is with child against him.

53:12.000 --> 53:23.000
And yet he's told by God to go ahead and just pay for her and allow her to still be his wife, which would be the ultimate picture of righteousness and the ultimate picture of love to this woman.

53:23.000 --> 53:24.000
Why would a man not do that?

53:24.000 --> 53:28.000
Because the hardness of his heart towards that woman and deciding, you know what, I don't really want to love you anymore.

53:28.000 --> 53:30.000
But you could still choose to love that woman.

53:30.000 --> 53:34.000
You know, I want to say this.

53:34.000 --> 53:40.000
And again, obviously, Oseya is not consenting under that relationship.

53:40.000 --> 53:43.000
Oseya is not approving of that relationship.

53:43.000 --> 53:47.000
Oseya is not facilitating that particular relationship.

53:47.000 --> 53:57.000
But in our modern culture and modern society, they believe that a man that would stay with a woman, even if she had committed adultery or been, you know, somehow unfaithful,

53:57.000 --> 54:02.000
that he's just like a bad person and they'll use a really derogatory term towards this particular guy.

54:02.000 --> 54:03.000
I'm not even use this term.

54:03.000 --> 54:08.000
OK, but they'll use these words and throw out there and act like this guy's really bad.

54:08.000 --> 54:12.000
And they'll kind of they'll kind of use these evil terms against this particular man.

54:12.000 --> 54:21.000
But you know what? That's actually biblical that Oseya would literally stay with his wife, even if she committed adultery against him.

54:21.000 --> 54:30.000
And that's to show how God was faithful to Israel, even though Israel had committed adultery against him in a spiritual sense multiple times over and over again.

54:30.000 --> 54:38.000
So if you were to claim that Oseya is a bad person for staying with his wife, you would have to claim that God is a bad God for staying with Israel for so long

54:38.000 --> 54:45.000
and being so compassionate and merciful to Israel and even just loving us, considering how much we've transgressed against them.

54:45.000 --> 54:48.000
Because the carnal mind always wants justice.

54:49.000 --> 54:54.000
The flesh always wants justice and they think anybody extending mercy is weak.

54:54.000 --> 54:56.000
Where the Bible says, hey, turn the other cheek.

54:56.000 --> 55:00.000
You know, the manosphere would say, oh, that's weak.

55:00.000 --> 55:03.000
Oh, you're a beta to get slapped around like that.

55:03.000 --> 55:09.000
You know, if I was slapped and I would just beat that guy to the ground, I would just tear him up or whatever.

55:09.000 --> 55:13.000
You know what? That might sound macho, but it's not spiritual.

55:13.000 --> 55:23.000
Spiritually speaking, you can take a slap to the cheek and you would literally just turn the other cheek and you would allow someone to do you harm.

55:23.000 --> 55:28.000
You would allow someone to defraud you. You would allow someone to do evil unto you and you would still take it.

55:28.000 --> 55:38.000
And many times we think about and we hear about how women have been mistreated in marriage and we're encouraging them to still stay with their husband and still love their husband.

55:38.000 --> 55:49.000
But in many cases, it's the opposite that's just as prevalent in our society where women have also gone against their husband or hurt their husband or done evil to their husband.

55:49.000 --> 55:56.000
And you know what? We're still going to encourage the husbands to love their wives and take care of their wives and do good unto their wives.

55:56.000 --> 55:59.000
And it's till death do us part on both sides of the equation.

55:59.000 --> 56:04.000
And look, no one should be incentivized to do this evilness or this wickedness.

56:05.000 --> 56:11.000
But we have to understand that if someone were in that situation, we should encourage them to do what's right and what's spiritual, period.

56:11.000 --> 56:16.000
No matter how much the manosphere likes it, no matter how much feminism likes it.

56:16.000 --> 56:21.000
And is it funny? Manosphere would tell you to get divorced and feminism tells you to get divorced.

56:21.000 --> 56:26.000
Why? Because neither of them are godly or biblical or spiritual.

56:26.000 --> 56:31.000
And look, I'm all for men being strong. I'm all for men working out.

56:31.000 --> 56:37.000
I'm all for men being able to defend themselves. I'm for you owning guns, not just gun, guns, plural.

56:37.000 --> 56:40.000
And it's not a red flag. Okay.

56:40.000 --> 56:45.000
To me, it's more of a red flag if a guy is worried about having guns than a guy owning guns.

56:45.000 --> 56:54.000
You know, it's not a red flag for a man to be a man, for a man to get upset every once in a while or throw something or use a harsh word or whatever.

56:54.000 --> 56:56.000
You know, it's okay for men to be men.

56:57.000 --> 57:09.000
But at the end of the day, you know, sometimes the ultimate strength is also being willing to, you know what, take your wife unto you when she's transgressed against you and still love her.

57:09.000 --> 57:14.000
And to do good under her. The Bible says husbands love your wives and be not bitter against them.

57:14.000 --> 57:23.000
And so while we have here written in Jude 24, this idea that a man could put away his wife, that's not a suggestion.

57:23.000 --> 57:27.000
It's not the ultimate thing to do. It's not the best thing to do.

57:27.000 --> 57:33.000
The best thing to do is till death do us part. It just provides this particular option. Why? Because it's just. It is just.

57:33.000 --> 57:41.000
It is right in the sense that an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, these are just. They're right.

57:41.000 --> 57:44.000
There's nothing wrong with them because there's nothing wrong with the law.

57:44.000 --> 57:48.000
But at the end of the day, you don't necessarily always exercise the law.

57:48.000 --> 57:55.000
You sometimes go ahead and you go above the law and you exercise righteousness and you exercise mercy and you exercise charity.

57:55.000 --> 58:00.000
Just like biblically speaking, if my children transgress against me, I can spank them.

58:00.000 --> 58:05.000
That's just. But I don't always spank them. Sometimes I show them mercy.

58:05.000 --> 58:11.000
Sometimes I show them long suffering. Sometimes I show them charity because we don't always want to just only be a just person.

58:11.000 --> 58:16.000
We're only ever showing justice to people or giving eye for an eye or tooth for a tooth.

58:17.000 --> 58:23.000
Sometimes we want to go above what people deserve and we want to give them something extra.

58:23.000 --> 58:29.000
We want to give them something that's good. Look, if we all got what we deserve, we'd all go to hell.

58:29.000 --> 58:35.000
And not only would we go to hell, we would already be in hell because God doesn't even owe us another day on this earth.

58:35.000 --> 58:39.000
The moment we send, we deserved to literally just be thrown straight into hell.

58:40.000 --> 58:46.000
So for God to give us life beyond sin was gracious, was merciful, was long suffering.

58:46.000 --> 58:50.000
Not only that, for his son to come and die on the cross for all our sins and take our place.

58:50.000 --> 58:59.000
Ultimate picture of mercy and grace. And then for us to be able to receive that and not only be saved, we are to be called the sons of God.

58:59.000 --> 59:05.000
We're made like in under his son. We are heirs with him. We are joint heirs with Christ.

59:05.000 --> 59:10.000
And we get to inherit the promises. Not only that, we get to put on immortality.

59:10.000 --> 59:17.000
We get to live in his presence. Not only we get to live in his presence, the Bible says he's going to gird himself and he's going to even serve us.

59:17.000 --> 59:23.000
I mean, how does that even make sense? It's kind of like the prodigal son coming back home and to his father.

59:23.000 --> 59:33.000
And while he's not even worthy to be called his son, he gets to have a feast and the dad's going to literally feed him and he's going to put on the best robe on him.

59:33.000 --> 59:40.000
And he's going to take care of him just like when we get to heaven, God's going to put the best robe on us and he's going to feed us and he's going to bless us.

59:40.000 --> 59:47.000
Look, this is a picture of love. You know what? Justice isn't always love. Love is going to go above justice.

59:47.000 --> 59:51.000
You know what? God loves both and he wants us to understand both.

59:51.000 --> 59:57.000
And we have to realize that God is the ultimate of all creation of everything that could possibly exist.

59:57.000 --> 01:00:02.000
And we get to see all the different facets of who God is, that God's not only just, but he's also merciful.

01:00:02.000 --> 01:00:13.000
Now you could look at a false religion like the Islam with their God Allah and he is always quoted as being most merciful.

01:00:13.000 --> 01:00:18.000
Oh, you read the Koran and it's nauseating and vomit inducing.

01:00:18.000 --> 01:00:26.000
But I'll tell you what, just like every few lines just inserts like Allah most merciful. Allah is so merciful.

01:00:27.000 --> 01:00:33.000
You know, and then it's just like slay them, cut their heads off. Most merciful, most loving. Allah is so awesome.

01:00:33.000 --> 01:00:41.000
You know, it's just like kill them, strike them. You know, it's talking about your wife. It's like disobey, strike her. Allah most merciful.

01:00:41.000 --> 01:00:46.000
But here's the thing, Allah is not just whatsoever.

01:00:46.000 --> 01:00:52.000
Because if you understand the religion of Islam, there is absolutely no sacrifice for our sins.

01:00:52.000 --> 01:00:58.000
Allah just waves his hand and just all the sins are just taken care of because he's just so merciful.

01:00:58.000 --> 01:01:08.000
But here's the thing that makes him not just just like if someone robbed you and stole you stole your car, stole your bike, stole your house, stole your money, stole your wallet, stole your jacket.

01:01:08.000 --> 01:01:14.000
And then the judge just says, I'm so merciful. And he just waves his hand and the criminal gets off scot-free.

01:01:14.000 --> 01:01:19.000
Well, you know what? You're still victimized. You still been you still been harmed and you haven't been.

01:01:20.000 --> 01:01:24.000
There's no restitution to what you has happened to you.

01:01:24.000 --> 01:01:29.000
And so therefore, Islam is a false religion because their God is not a just God.

01:01:29.000 --> 01:01:35.000
And you say, oh, well, why did God have to have a sacrifice? Why do you have to have a son die?

01:01:35.000 --> 01:01:39.000
Because God is just. That's why. Because God is just.

01:01:39.000 --> 01:01:47.000
And so there had to be a just penalty and a just punishment paid so we can see the justice of God and we can also see the mercy of God.

01:01:47.000 --> 01:01:54.000
And here in verse 24, verses one, I'm sorry, chapter 24, verses one and two, we're only seeing the justice of God.

01:01:54.000 --> 01:02:01.000
Justice is a woman being unclean and having a sordid past or having problems coming in the marriage.

01:02:01.000 --> 01:02:04.000
It's just for the guy to not want to be with her for the rest of his life.

01:02:04.000 --> 01:02:11.000
And so he could put her away. But is this the best idea? Is this the is this the perfect solution?

01:02:11.000 --> 01:02:17.000
No, obviously, if a woman kept herself pure until the wedding night, well, then there's no problem.

01:02:17.000 --> 01:02:23.000
But if she comes with baggage, if she comes damaged goods, the man has the right to basically say, you know what?

01:02:23.000 --> 01:02:26.000
That's not what I signed up for. That's not what I wanted.

01:02:26.000 --> 01:02:34.000
Now, anybody that divorces their their wife or puts away their wife, I personally will never approve of, never condemn, never participate in.

01:02:34.000 --> 01:02:38.000
I will also not remarry people that have a living spouse.

01:02:39.000 --> 01:02:43.000
If you have a living spouse, I will not remarry.

01:02:43.000 --> 01:02:53.000
Now, if someone hypothetically got divorced and then their spouse died, then, yeah, I guess I could potentially remarry that particular person.

01:02:53.000 --> 01:03:00.000
But as long as you have a living spouse, I won't participate in a marriage ceremony because then I would be assisting or aiding in adultery.

01:03:01.000 --> 01:03:08.000
Romans, chapter seven, crystal clear that if you are married to someone while your spouse is living, you should be called an adulterous.

01:03:08.000 --> 01:03:13.000
And so, you know, you have to they have to die. Now, I'm not trying to say kill them.

01:03:13.000 --> 01:03:17.000
OK, that's someone's out there like, all right, I know how to solve this problem.

01:03:17.000 --> 01:03:24.000
This math equation. No, I also won't marry you if you killed them. OK, so I took that off the table.

01:03:24.000 --> 01:03:32.000
Now, if you pray like Abigail and then God strikes their heart dead or something and then they die.

01:03:32.000 --> 01:03:36.000
All right, we're back in business. OK, but you cannot participate.

01:03:36.000 --> 01:03:40.000
All right. But again, this is not a statute saying just carte blanche.

01:03:40.000 --> 01:03:48.000
You can divorce your wife, you can put away your wife for any cause or any reason that, you know, again, the modern versions, they they confuse all these things.

01:03:48.000 --> 01:03:53.000
They just kind of make the whole narrative confusing because it's like they're asking like, can we put away for every cause?

01:03:53.000 --> 01:03:57.000
And then the modern versions is like, yeah, it's like, well, that was a weird answer.

01:03:57.000 --> 01:04:05.000
That was kind of a weird response because it almost pits Moses against Jesus because Jesus is saying, hey, let's not put him asunder.

01:04:05.000 --> 01:04:07.000
And they're like, well, what about Moses?

01:04:07.000 --> 01:04:10.000
And then it's like Moses is somehow being pitted against him.

01:04:10.000 --> 01:04:14.000
But if you actually understand what the Bible saying, Moses said, this is what's just.

01:04:14.000 --> 01:04:18.000
Jesus is telling you what's righteous. Moses is telling you it's just.

01:04:19.000 --> 01:04:24.000
But what's righteous is let not man put asunder.

01:04:24.000 --> 01:04:26.000
And that would be the right decision to do.

01:04:26.000 --> 01:04:29.000
Think about what is right. It's the right. What is righteousness?

01:04:29.000 --> 01:04:33.000
It's the right thing to do. What is the absolute right thing to do?

01:04:33.000 --> 01:04:36.000
It's to never put away your wife for any reason.

01:04:36.000 --> 01:04:41.000
And you could only be remarried if your spouse were to perish, if they were to die.

01:04:41.000 --> 01:04:46.000
Now, it gives another hypothetical here in verse three, it says, and if the latter husband hater.

01:04:46.000 --> 01:04:50.000
So this woman gets married. She's put away lawfully.

01:04:50.000 --> 01:04:53.000
Then she gets married to the next guy.

01:04:53.000 --> 01:04:56.000
The next guy is also like, oh, I can see why this guy put her away.

01:04:56.000 --> 01:04:58.000
So he puts her away. All right.

01:05:00.000 --> 01:05:03.000
The Bible says she cannot go back to the next to the previous guy.

01:05:03.000 --> 01:05:09.000
It says, and if the latter husband ate her and write her a bill of divorcement and give it in her hand and send her out of his house.

01:05:09.000 --> 01:05:13.000
Or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife, her former husband,

01:05:13.000 --> 01:05:16.000
which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife.

01:05:16.000 --> 01:05:20.000
After that, she is defiled for that is abomination before the Lord.

01:05:20.000 --> 01:05:22.000
And that should not cause the land to sin.

01:05:22.000 --> 01:05:24.000
Wish the Lord thy God give it thee for inheritance.

01:05:24.000 --> 01:05:32.000
Now, so biblically speaking, if you were to divorce your spouse, but neither of you got remarried,

01:05:32.000 --> 01:05:36.000
I believe the right thing to do is to get get back together and actually get remarried.

01:05:36.000 --> 01:05:44.000
But once one of those parties remarries, now you're never biblically allowed to get back together for any reason,

01:05:44.000 --> 01:05:49.000
even if they were to actually even die, you're not allowed to come back under this one.

01:05:49.000 --> 01:05:56.000
So it's kind of like once you've entered into a new agreement, a new covenant, it just makes that old covenant non-existent.

01:05:56.000 --> 01:06:04.000
Hey, maybe somebody should tell that to the Zionists that when you enter into a new covenant, you can't go back to the old covenant.

01:06:04.000 --> 01:06:10.000
The old covenant is off the table. In fact, it's an abomination even to go back into or to try to go back into.

01:06:10.000 --> 01:06:12.000
That's a pretty good spiritual picture, huh?

01:06:12.000 --> 01:06:16.000
I'm not trying to make all the spiritual pictures yet, but I just that was just in my head.

01:06:16.000 --> 01:06:23.000
So there we go. But again, this is just an interesting thought in the religion of Islam.

01:06:23.000 --> 01:06:30.000
It actually tells you to go back. So in the Koran, it'll say like, hey, now you need to go back.

01:06:30.000 --> 01:06:35.000
It's like basically the Koran is just like whatever the Bible says, let's do the opposite and just basically teach the opposite.

01:06:35.000 --> 01:06:41.000
So these books are not compatible. The Bible and the Koran are not compatible.

01:06:41.000 --> 01:06:46.000
Number one, the Bible is the greatest literature on the planet and the Koran is the worst literature in the planet.

01:06:46.000 --> 01:06:54.000
So, you know, that's one just one thing. But let alone just the doctrines themselves and the teachings of the Koran are trash.

01:06:54.000 --> 01:06:58.000
They will say, oh, it's not translated right. You can't translate it right because it's trash.

01:06:58.000 --> 01:07:01.000
Just translate into trash. All right. That's the reason why.

01:07:01.000 --> 01:07:06.000
Now, verse five says, when a man have taken a new wife, he should not go out to war.

01:07:06.000 --> 01:07:12.000
Neither shall he be charged with any business, but he shall be free at home one year and shall cheer up his wife, which he had taken.

01:07:12.000 --> 01:07:17.000
Now, this was a little bit different on the surface than the rest of these.

01:07:17.000 --> 01:07:27.000
But why use the term undesirables is because previously the text had said, like, if any guy was at the war and he had recently married his wife, let him just go home.

01:07:27.000 --> 01:07:31.000
So in a sense, he's kind of like undesirable in a military situation.

01:07:31.000 --> 01:07:36.000
So you kind of have this woman who's undesirable in the marriage situation.

01:07:36.000 --> 01:07:41.000
Here you have a guy that's undesirable in the military situation.

01:07:41.000 --> 01:07:44.000
But it's saying, hey, let's give him a year and then he can wreck.

01:07:44.000 --> 01:07:56.000
He can reconcile. So a lot of these provisions are trying to provide a way for the undesirables to reconcile or be redeemed or have some path backwards.

01:07:56.000 --> 01:08:01.000
Or to be protected from just being treated unfairly or unpoorly.

01:08:01.000 --> 01:08:04.000
Like, oh, you're just recently got married. We're never going to put you in the military.

01:08:04.000 --> 01:08:16.000
You know, but it's like, no, obviously he's not a good fit for the military right now because a guy that just got married put on the front lines may be hesitant, may not be willing to die.

01:08:16.000 --> 01:08:20.000
So he's undesirable. He's not fit for that particular office.

01:08:20.000 --> 01:08:24.000
But give him a year. And after that much nagging, he's ready to go.

01:08:24.000 --> 01:08:28.000
No, I'm just kidding. After the honeymoon, he's just like, all right, I'm ready to go home.

01:08:28.000 --> 01:08:33.000
No, I'm just kidding. But he's just basically saying somebody all laughed.

01:08:33.000 --> 01:08:39.000
You know, I'm just kidding. But it's just basically saying, you know, hey, this guy's not desirable or fit for this particular role.

01:08:39.000 --> 01:08:41.000
But notice he's redeemable. Just like that woman.

01:08:41.000 --> 01:08:45.000
Maybe she's not fit for that particular marriage, but she could be redeemed by a second one.

01:08:45.000 --> 01:08:48.000
But she's making it clear, like, don't go back to the last one.

01:08:48.000 --> 01:08:52.000
He already rejected you. So you should just stay away from him anyways.

01:08:52.000 --> 01:09:00.000
Verse number six says, No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone to pledge, for he take of the man's life to pledge.

01:09:00.000 --> 01:09:09.000
Now, again, we don't really necessarily have this this type of work, but it's basically just describing an instrument that's necessary for making money.

01:09:09.000 --> 01:09:12.000
So in a sense, you wouldn't want to take a carpenter's tools away.

01:09:12.000 --> 01:09:16.000
You wouldn't want to take someone's truck or vehicle away that's necessary for their work.

01:09:17.000 --> 01:09:27.000
Wouldn't want to take whatever tool or whatever item is necessary to accomplish their work, because if you take away the fishing pole from the fishermen, he can't fish.

01:09:27.000 --> 01:09:32.000
And then if he can't fish, he can't make money. And if can't make money, then he can't pay you back.

01:09:32.000 --> 01:09:35.000
So it's kind of a self-defeating thing to do anyways.

01:09:35.000 --> 01:09:42.000
Again, the pledge is typically would be like in response of collateral for a loan.

01:09:42.000 --> 01:09:48.000
Hey, I need some money. And they say, OK, I'll give you 10 bucks or 100 bucks or whatever the amount is.

01:09:48.000 --> 01:09:50.000
And they're like, but what if you don't pay me back?

01:09:50.000 --> 01:09:54.000
Then they would pledge an item to be used.

01:09:54.000 --> 01:09:59.000
And he's saying you should not take you cannot take these items as a pledge.

01:09:59.000 --> 01:10:04.000
So you can't you can't take this because then you're basically going to destroy the man.

01:10:04.000 --> 01:10:08.000
You're going to destroy the guy because the only thing he's got left is an ability to make money.

01:10:08.000 --> 01:10:11.000
If you take away the guy's ability to make money, well, now he's just doomed.

01:10:11.000 --> 01:10:15.000
So he obviously was borrowing money because he needs money.

01:10:15.000 --> 01:10:19.000
So then if you take away his way to make money, well, now he's just in really big trouble.

01:10:19.000 --> 01:10:27.000
So it's basically saying like, you know, this guy, obviously, why would you even take the pledge away?

01:10:27.000 --> 01:10:31.000
Because he didn't pay you back. This guy's kind of an undesirable, right?

01:10:31.000 --> 01:10:34.000
Someone that borrows money from you and won't pay it back.

01:10:34.000 --> 01:10:37.000
That's not somebody you really like. That's kind of an undesirable person.

01:10:37.000 --> 01:10:40.000
But what is the Bible saying? Still, you can't take that pledge.

01:10:40.000 --> 01:10:42.000
You can't take this away from this guy.

01:10:42.000 --> 01:10:49.000
He's still protected from, you know, basically being destroyed from this particular scenario or from this particular situation.

01:10:49.000 --> 01:10:52.000
So, again, some people would would be destroyed by this.

01:10:52.000 --> 01:10:57.000
You know, even in America, there are certain rules to protect you, especially even in Texas.

01:10:57.000 --> 01:11:03.000
There's state laws that if you were to be found guilty in a lawsuit or someone suing you,

01:11:03.000 --> 01:11:07.000
they cannot take your primary residence in the state of Texas.

01:11:07.000 --> 01:11:09.000
They also can't take your first or second car.

01:11:09.000 --> 01:11:14.000
They also can't even take up to thirty thousand dollars in the bank account,

01:11:14.000 --> 01:11:18.000
which it's like so many people are what we call judgment proof.

01:11:18.000 --> 01:11:23.000
All right. Now, you have to learn this term when some evil person rips you off.

01:11:23.000 --> 01:11:25.000
You don't even know. I didn't know what this term is.

01:11:25.000 --> 01:11:27.000
And then you find out what this term is.

01:11:27.000 --> 01:11:32.000
So some people keep themselves what's called judgment proof so that they can rip as many people off as they want.

01:11:32.000 --> 01:11:34.000
And you can never take them to task.

01:11:34.000 --> 01:11:37.000
And again, it's a pretty bad evil.

01:11:37.000 --> 01:11:44.000
But because of the laws, it is based on this principle that you just still can't take the guy's pledge because it would just be too harmful to him.

01:11:44.000 --> 01:11:49.000
Now, obviously, he's still causing harm in society is an undesirable person.

01:11:49.000 --> 01:11:51.000
But in general, you just still can't take his car.

01:11:51.000 --> 01:11:52.000
He can't take his house.

01:11:52.000 --> 01:11:54.000
Can't take just a little bit of money he has.

01:11:54.000 --> 01:11:56.000
Otherwise, the guy is going to perish.

01:11:56.000 --> 01:11:58.000
And so that's kind of why these laws are in place.

01:11:59.000 --> 01:12:08.000
And while we may not like it on the side of the equation of someone ripping us off, you would like it on the situation where you're being sued and there's judgment against you and you're backed into a corner and you have no other option.

01:12:08.000 --> 01:12:12.000
Or maybe someone did this to you unfairly or unjustly or they're taking advantage of you.

01:12:12.000 --> 01:12:18.000
And so as a level of protection that you have there, you know, maybe you're a pastor and you're just sued for preaching the Bible.

01:12:18.000 --> 01:12:21.000
They can't take my house.

01:12:21.000 --> 01:12:26.000
You know, as a pastor, I think it's a good thing that you have a good relationship with the Bible.

01:12:26.000 --> 01:12:31.000
You know, as a pastor, there's not really very many safe things.

01:12:31.000 --> 01:12:33.000
But the house is safe.

01:12:33.000 --> 01:12:35.000
So you kind of wonder like it's the same with doctors.

01:12:35.000 --> 01:12:37.000
It's like doctors kind of have the same thing, too.

01:12:37.000 --> 01:12:43.000
It's like, you know, why do doctors just have these like just giant houses that are multimillion dollar houses?

01:12:43.000 --> 01:12:45.000
Well, obviously, one is they make a lot of money.

01:12:45.000 --> 01:12:48.000
But number two is it's like the only thing that can't be taken from them.

01:12:48.000 --> 01:12:51.000
So, you know, obviously, doctors could be sued for malpractice.

01:12:51.000 --> 01:12:54.000
They could be sued for all kinds of different problems and issues.

01:12:54.000 --> 01:13:06.000
And so as a way to kind of protect their own net worth, in many cases, they'll just put all of it into their house because that's kind of the only safe investment vehicle that they have, especially considering their profession is a little bit riskier.

01:13:06.000 --> 01:13:13.000
Same way pastors, sometimes they put all their money only in their house because everything else can be stripped from them.

01:13:13.000 --> 01:13:15.000
They put a bunch of money in investments.

01:13:15.000 --> 01:13:17.000
All those investments could be taken from them.

01:13:17.000 --> 01:13:19.000
They put a bunch of money in gold, stock, whatever.

01:13:19.000 --> 01:13:22.000
All that could be stripped from them, taken from them.

01:13:22.000 --> 01:13:24.000
They own a business could all be stripped, taken from them.

01:13:24.000 --> 01:13:33.000
So it's like, well, I guess I'm just going to invest in the house because otherwise I could literally have this all taken from me for not even doing anything wrong.

01:13:33.000 --> 01:13:40.000
You know, just racially sued for some unjust reason or some, you know, weird reason or some shady business reason or something.

01:13:40.000 --> 01:13:42.000
Some disgruntled person suing.

01:13:42.000 --> 01:13:54.000
I remember there was a story that I was told from my attorney about a woman who sued the pastor because he church disciplined her for committing repeated adultery against her husband.

01:13:54.000 --> 01:14:01.000
So there's a woman committing repeated adultery against her husband, was unrepentant, was unwilling to forego this adultery relationship.

01:14:01.000 --> 01:14:03.000
So he kicked her out of the church.

01:14:03.000 --> 01:14:06.000
And then she sued him for doing that.

01:14:06.000 --> 01:14:08.000
OK, there's been, I heard of another pastor.

01:14:08.000 --> 01:14:14.000
He got sued because a woman came and told him that she was committing adultery against her husband repeatedly.

01:14:14.000 --> 01:14:17.000
He said, you have 30 days to tell him she didn't do it.

01:14:17.000 --> 01:14:22.000
So he told the husband and then she sued him for revealing that particular information.

01:14:22.000 --> 01:14:28.000
So, again, you can sometimes be doing what's right, doing what's the Bible, and you could get sued really heavily.

01:14:28.000 --> 01:14:36.000
And it's kind of nice to have some of these safety blankets, as it were, to be protected from, you know, someone taking these kind of things away from you.

01:14:37.000 --> 01:14:44.000
Because, again, if every pastor could just be sued and they just take your house and your car and your whatever, then pastors wouldn't be preaching the Bible potentially, right?

01:14:44.000 --> 01:14:51.000
They'd be afraid to preach whatever the Bible says or to confront people or do harsh things, just realizing that everything could be stripped from them.

01:14:51.000 --> 01:14:53.000
And now their family's homeless.

01:14:53.000 --> 01:14:59.000
Now their family has to live in a van down by the river eating government cheese, you know, and it's just like, that's not very fair.

01:14:59.000 --> 01:15:05.000
And so at the end of the day, it's like these safety nets, these protections afford some good things.

01:15:05.000 --> 01:15:09.000
So we don't always want to think negatively because of the worst case scenario.

01:15:09.000 --> 01:15:13.000
Sometimes it's also positive and protects good people as well.

01:15:13.000 --> 01:15:15.000
You're like, oh, that pastor has a big house.

01:15:15.000 --> 01:15:17.000
Well, maybe that's the only thing you have.

01:15:17.000 --> 01:15:19.000
So don't get too mad at him.

01:15:19.000 --> 01:15:21.000
Now, if it's Kenneth Copeland, all right, we get mad at him, right?

01:15:21.000 --> 01:15:23.000
For his doctrine, especially.

01:15:23.000 --> 01:15:34.000
Verse seven, if a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel and make of merchandise of him or sell of him, then that thief shall die and thou shall put evil away from among you.

01:15:34.000 --> 01:15:38.000
Now, some people would suggest that the Bible teaches slavery.

01:15:38.000 --> 01:15:45.000
It's kind of a tricky issue because you kind of have to quote define slavery before then you can kind of address that particular question.

01:15:45.000 --> 01:15:48.000
Because the Bible does teach indentured servitude.

01:15:48.000 --> 01:15:58.000
It also brings up a scenario where there's all these people appointed under death to make a covenant with Joshua, the inhabitants of Gibeon and the Gibeonites.

01:15:58.000 --> 01:16:02.000
And then God makes them just basically perpetual indentured servants.

01:16:02.000 --> 01:16:07.000
For the most part, most indentured servitude ends after seven years or the year of Jubilee.

01:16:07.000 --> 01:16:14.000
That's kind of like your only exception where you add like an entire nation that's that's basically destined to destruction.

01:16:14.000 --> 01:16:16.000
God saying, wipe them all out.

01:16:16.000 --> 01:16:18.000
They make a promise to not.

01:16:18.000 --> 01:16:20.000
And so then they have to honor that oath.

01:16:20.000 --> 01:16:28.000
They have to honor that promise that they would not appoint them under destruction here, biblically speaking, especially in context of your own brother.

01:16:28.000 --> 01:16:35.000
The Bible saying if you were to put your brother into some kind of bondage or sell him, then you just be put to death.

01:16:35.000 --> 01:16:37.000
There's a death penalty applied to this.

01:16:37.000 --> 01:16:42.000
So, again, obviously, there's some level of servitude taught in the Bible.

01:16:42.000 --> 01:16:47.000
And so if you want to teach that as, quote, slavery, then OK, you could use that term.

01:16:47.000 --> 01:16:49.000
I don't think that it's accurate.

01:16:49.000 --> 01:16:54.000
Or if you say you want to use slavery here in this context, well, then it's forbidden.

01:16:54.000 --> 01:17:01.000
I would say this is more like and unto human trafficking and slavery and a more harsher extreme context.

01:17:01.000 --> 01:17:05.000
Obviously, also, it is saying brethren of the children of Israel.

01:17:05.000 --> 01:17:08.000
So, again, you're going to have POWs, right?

01:17:08.000 --> 01:17:15.000
You got prisoners of war and there's different rules that may apply in those particular situations.

01:17:15.000 --> 01:17:22.000
But to take your own brother and put him in slavery or to traffic him or to sell him or any of this kind of stuff, it's just automatic death penalty.

01:17:22.000 --> 01:17:23.000
You know, what do you got?

01:17:23.000 --> 01:17:29.000
Anybody in human trafficking would just kill anybody that's involved in this kind of practice.

01:17:29.000 --> 01:17:32.000
Any and again, it's not like limited to children either.

01:17:32.000 --> 01:17:40.000
There's a lot of women and older people that are also in human trafficking and all of them should just be put to death period.

01:17:40.000 --> 01:17:42.000
That's just the biblical principle.

01:17:42.000 --> 01:17:45.000
And it's just kind of sad that our government doesn't do this.

01:17:45.000 --> 01:17:49.000
Our government seems to facilitate this and even be participating in this.

01:17:49.000 --> 01:17:52.000
In many cases, it's wicked, it's evil.

01:17:52.000 --> 01:18:01.000
And unfortunately, it's going to happen till the bitter end because the Bible tells us in the Book of Revelation that there's slaves of men being imported into Babylon, wherever that is.

01:18:01.000 --> 01:18:13.000
Babylon is going to be importing souls and still importing people, you know, basically human trafficking people into its particular coasts, wherever that is, probably America, until the bitter end.

01:18:13.000 --> 01:18:16.000
And so, you know, it's just kind of a sad reality of life.

01:18:17.000 --> 01:18:20.000
But we should have nothing to do with it and try to stay far away from it.

01:18:20.000 --> 01:18:21.000
Verse 8.

01:18:31.000 --> 01:18:33.000
So here you have the plague of leprosy.

01:18:33.000 --> 01:18:34.000
I think it's kind of tied to verse 9.

01:18:34.000 --> 01:18:39.000
It says, Remember what the Lord thy God did in the Miriam, by the way, after that you were come forth out of Egypt.

01:18:39.000 --> 01:18:42.000
Now Miriam is plagued for speaking against Moses.

01:18:42.000 --> 01:18:46.000
She's put outside the camp for seven days and then brought back in.

01:18:46.000 --> 01:18:48.000
So lepers were also put outside the camp.

01:18:48.000 --> 01:18:58.000
People that were sick with these extreme sicknesses or diseases or whatever uncleanness were put outside the camp until they were clean and then were stored and then brought back in the camp.

01:18:58.000 --> 01:19:04.000
So again, these are just undesirable people, undesirable situations, undesirable situations.

01:19:04.000 --> 01:19:07.000
And it's giving them basically a path back.

01:19:07.000 --> 01:19:08.000
Go outside the camp.

01:19:08.000 --> 01:19:11.000
Then once you're good, then bring them back into the camp.

01:19:11.000 --> 01:19:16.000
But if you allow this leprous person to stay in the camp, then it's going to spread everywhere like leaven.

01:19:16.000 --> 01:19:19.000
And it's going to cause the entire camp to get diseased and sick.

01:19:19.000 --> 01:19:21.000
And it's just going to cause way too many problems.

01:19:21.000 --> 01:19:24.000
So that's why you're always putting them without, putting them outside the camp.

01:19:24.000 --> 01:19:25.000
You don't want them inside.

01:19:25.000 --> 01:19:27.000
You know, people say, oh, church is a hospital.

01:19:27.000 --> 01:19:28.000
False.

01:19:28.000 --> 01:19:30.000
A hospital is a hospital.

01:19:30.000 --> 01:19:35.000
And again, church should be for the healthy physically and spiritually.

01:19:36.000 --> 01:19:41.000
OK, we also don't want the leprous person spiritually to come into church.

01:19:41.000 --> 01:19:48.000
Someone that has a oneness doctrine in their theology or someone that has the wrong Bible or someone that's bringing in.

01:19:48.000 --> 01:19:55.000
Obviously, a false gospel is extreme, but, you know, just any kind of doctrine that's a heresy related to our core doctrines of the faith.

01:19:55.000 --> 01:19:57.000
We don't want to allow that.

01:19:57.000 --> 01:19:58.000
We wouldn't tolerate that.

01:19:58.000 --> 01:20:01.000
That would not be accepted in the house of God.

01:20:01.000 --> 01:20:03.000
We would have to ask that person to leave.

01:20:03.000 --> 01:20:11.000
Verse 10, when thou dost lend thy brother anything, thou shalt not go into his house to fetch his pledge, thou shalt stand abroad.

01:20:11.000 --> 01:20:16.000
And the man to whom thou dost lend shall bring out the pledge abroad unto thee.

01:20:16.000 --> 01:20:19.000
So, again, these are just like undesirable people.

01:20:19.000 --> 01:20:22.000
These are people that won't pay their debt back.

01:20:22.000 --> 01:20:23.000
They won't pay their loan.

01:20:23.000 --> 01:20:25.000
They can't pay their loan.

01:20:25.000 --> 01:20:29.000
And again, this is obviously a bad situation, but it's still protecting this person.

01:20:29.000 --> 01:20:38.000
It's saying, look, even if this guy won't pay you back, you still can't come into his house and take back his good.

01:20:38.000 --> 01:20:43.000
You can't repo his code or repo whatever he pledged.

01:20:43.000 --> 01:20:47.000
You have to kind of you have to give him some safety here because it's not really fair.

01:20:47.000 --> 01:20:48.000
It's kind of a dangerous situation.

01:20:48.000 --> 01:20:52.000
And God's trying to prevent a bigger escalation.

01:20:52.000 --> 01:20:56.000
You come in there and you start trying to take his goods, take his possessions.

01:20:56.000 --> 01:21:01.000
Well, then it could escalate to a physical conflict or maybe someone dies or someone gets killed or whatever.

01:21:01.000 --> 01:21:06.000
Because when someone enters your house, you know, that that crosses a line.

01:21:06.000 --> 01:21:08.000
In Texas, it's called the Castle Doctrine.

01:21:08.000 --> 01:21:10.000
Every man's house is his castle.

01:21:10.000 --> 01:21:16.000
And according to the Bible, you get to decide who's in your castle whenever you want and however you want.

01:21:16.000 --> 01:21:22.000
And you can defend your castle however you want up to including lethal force in the state of Texas.

01:21:22.000 --> 01:21:26.000
If someone is entering into your castle, you can defend your castle as you see fit.

01:21:26.000 --> 01:21:28.000
And you know what? Praise God for that kind of a doctrine.

01:21:28.000 --> 01:21:29.000
You know, praise God.

01:21:29.000 --> 01:21:32.000
It's not like Europe where someone enters your castle.

01:21:32.000 --> 01:21:35.000
You can't outmatch their weapon.

01:21:35.000 --> 01:21:37.000
Have you heard who's heard about this?

01:21:37.000 --> 01:21:38.000
It's crazy.

01:21:38.000 --> 01:21:41.000
It's like if they come out with a knife, you can't come with them a gun or something.

01:21:41.000 --> 01:21:42.000
Or they come with a small blade.

01:21:42.000 --> 01:21:44.000
You can't come with a big blade or whatever.

01:21:44.000 --> 01:21:46.000
I mean, just just think about the nonsense of that.

01:21:46.000 --> 01:21:49.000
Someone comes in and is like, hey, what size blade you got?

01:21:49.000 --> 01:21:56.000
You know, I want to make sure I can match or get a little bit lower of a blade or something.

01:21:56.000 --> 01:21:59.000
It's just like this is so silly.

01:21:59.000 --> 01:22:03.000
In Texas, it's like, hey, you shouldn't have brought a knife to a gunfight.

01:22:03.000 --> 01:22:06.000
OK, you know, and it's common sense.

01:22:06.000 --> 01:22:09.000
You know, obviously, Europe is just not common sense in many ways.

01:22:09.000 --> 01:22:13.000
Isn't it funny written by Thomas Paine, common sense and the British don't get it.

01:22:13.000 --> 01:22:14.000
All right.

01:22:14.000 --> 01:22:18.000
But that was that's another sermon.

01:22:18.000 --> 01:22:21.000
Here we can't go into there and we can't take his goods.

01:22:21.000 --> 01:22:24.000
We have to we are affording him some protections here.

01:22:24.000 --> 01:22:31.000
If we keep going, it says in verse number 12, and if the man be poor, that's not sleep with his pledge.

01:22:31.000 --> 01:22:39.000
In any case, that's a deliver him the pledge again when the sun go down that he may sleep in his own Raymond and bless the and it shall be righteousness under the before the Lord.

01:22:39.000 --> 01:22:47.000
I got so again, a lot of times maybe the pledge is literally a coat could be their cloak and it gets cold at night.

01:22:47.000 --> 01:22:48.000
So it would just be wrong.

01:22:48.000 --> 01:23:00.000
Even if that's what his pledges, you still have to just kind of give it back to him, allow him to sleep, allow him to rest and then hope that he comes back and pays his debt or pays his pledge.

01:23:00.000 --> 01:23:06.000
It's just basically saying like, just don't don't harm the guy that owes you money.

01:23:06.000 --> 01:23:10.000
And again, this principle should just make sense anyways, because think about it.

01:23:10.000 --> 01:23:15.000
He's probably not going to pay back if you take his coat.

01:23:15.000 --> 01:23:18.000
I mean, the chances of you getting paid back are basically none in that case.

01:23:18.000 --> 01:23:22.000
But is the thing the Bible says that if you lend under the poor, God will repay you.

01:23:22.000 --> 01:23:24.000
God will pay you back.

01:23:24.000 --> 01:23:25.000
But but here's the thing.

01:23:25.000 --> 01:23:33.000
If you lend to the poor and then you're taking his coat and making him suffer, God's not going to pay you back because you took the coat.

01:23:33.000 --> 01:23:42.000
And so you'd be better off not taking the coat and just letting God repay you than trying to exact that vengeance of yourself, which is doing him too much harm.

01:23:42.000 --> 01:23:46.000
Now, again, it said notice it said a caveat here.

01:23:46.000 --> 01:23:51.000
It said if the man before now, if you're rich, I'm taking your coat, right?

01:23:51.000 --> 01:23:56.000
If you're rich and you're just not paying things back, well, now we're going to take you to task, right?

01:23:56.000 --> 01:23:58.000
Because it's basically it's a protection from the poor.

01:23:58.000 --> 01:24:00.000
It's the poor guy that's hard.

01:24:00.000 --> 01:24:02.000
The rich guy's got lots of coats.

01:24:02.000 --> 01:24:04.000
And so you're just going to take this from him.

01:24:04.000 --> 01:24:09.000
You know, it'd be evil to be one of these check cashing places.

01:24:10.000 --> 01:24:15.000
And when they won't pay you back or you're going for collections, you're just trying to rip them, just take anything you can from them.

01:24:15.000 --> 01:24:18.000
Let's just take their car wheel or take their coat or take their hat or whatever.

01:24:18.000 --> 01:24:20.000
That's a Jew thing to do.

01:24:20.000 --> 01:24:21.000
And it's wicked.

01:24:21.000 --> 01:24:23.000
OK, it's unbiblical.

01:24:23.000 --> 01:24:24.000
It's not what the Bible says.

01:24:24.000 --> 01:24:32.000
It'd be weird to go to Bible college for years and read the Bible and then come back and then work for a place of doing the exact opposite of these verses.

01:24:32.000 --> 01:24:33.000
Isn't it?

01:24:33.000 --> 01:24:34.000
Wouldn't that be weird?

01:24:34.000 --> 01:24:35.000
That's a moral sin.

01:24:35.000 --> 01:24:36.000
I'll tell you what.

01:24:36.000 --> 01:24:37.000
All right.

01:24:37.000 --> 01:24:47.000
Now, it says here in verse number 14, Thou should not oppress and hire a servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren or thy strangers that are in the land within thy gates.

01:24:47.000 --> 01:24:56.000
At his day thou shall give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it, for he is poor and set his heart upon it, lest he cry against thee unto the Lord and it be sin unto thee.

01:24:56.000 --> 01:25:01.000
So again, it's just basically picturing a guy who's super poor and he's a real man.

01:25:02.000 --> 01:25:04.000
And he's not even living paycheck to paycheck.

01:25:04.000 --> 01:25:06.000
He's living like day to day.

01:25:06.000 --> 01:25:08.000
And so this guy just needs money right up front.

01:25:08.000 --> 01:25:14.000
So what the Bible is saying is the most honorable thing to do is as soon as a guy is owed money, that you just pay it to him.

01:25:14.000 --> 01:25:18.000
Obviously, in our modern society, a lot of people are paid every two weeks.

01:25:18.000 --> 01:25:20.000
Some people are paid bimonthly.

01:25:20.000 --> 01:25:22.000
Some people are paid monthly.

01:25:22.000 --> 01:25:25.000
Most of us aren't paid on a daily basis.

01:25:26.000 --> 01:25:34.000
But essentially, if someone were very poor and very needy and they were to ask their employer, hey, can I just go ahead and get that now, now that I've done the work?

01:25:34.000 --> 01:25:36.000
The answer should be yes.

01:25:36.000 --> 01:25:38.000
You should try to accommodate them.

01:25:38.000 --> 01:25:40.000
You should try to help them out.

01:25:40.000 --> 01:25:46.000
In our modern society, we do a pretty good job of this, considering the fact that most people are paid, you know, right away on a two week notice or something.

01:25:46.000 --> 01:25:50.000
But what's wicked, again, is a payday place.

01:25:50.000 --> 01:25:54.000
Where they're giving people in advance on their money because their employer won't.

01:25:54.000 --> 01:25:58.000
Essentially, they've done two weeks worth of work, but maybe it's like less a day.

01:25:58.000 --> 01:26:02.000
Maybe it's like a week and a half or a week and five days.

01:26:02.000 --> 01:26:05.000
And they're just they're strapped for cash.

01:26:05.000 --> 01:26:11.000
They kind of they kind of already need that paycheck, but they're just not going to get it for another day.

01:26:11.000 --> 01:26:17.000
And so what people do is they go to these payday, these cash transfers, they go to these payday payments.

01:26:17.000 --> 01:26:21.000
And so what people do is they go to these payday, these cash payday places.

01:26:21.000 --> 01:26:28.000
And what they do is they'll take 20 or 30 percent of their paycheck so that they can get it up front.

01:26:28.000 --> 01:26:30.000
And it's just like this guy's already poor and needy.

01:26:30.000 --> 01:26:32.000
And then you're going to take 20 or 30 percent.

01:26:32.000 --> 01:26:40.000
And then it's a self-fulfilling prophecy because as soon as you take 20 or 30 percent cut on this guy's paycheck, well, he's going to need that next one even sooner.

01:26:40.000 --> 01:26:43.000
And then it's just kind of this vicious cycle that sometimes people get in.

01:26:43.000 --> 01:26:48.000
And then it just it puts them in the poorhouse and you're just ripping people off egregiously.

01:26:48.000 --> 01:26:50.000
And again, who does this? Oh, yeah.

01:26:50.000 --> 01:26:53.000
Jews who are really ripping off for people.

01:26:53.000 --> 01:26:59.000
Why is it that there's not a payday cash loan place in South Lake?

01:26:59.000 --> 01:27:03.000
Because it's a stupid idea. It's a horrific idea.

01:27:03.000 --> 01:27:05.000
Please never use these places.

01:27:05.000 --> 01:27:10.000
Please please ask a friend or borrow from a neighbor or ask your boss or something.

01:27:10.000 --> 01:27:15.000
Do not go down this road because it's a dangerous road and it's just going to hurt and harm you so badly.

01:27:15.000 --> 01:27:18.000
You know, just avoid this at all costs.

01:27:18.000 --> 01:27:20.000
You know, this kind of stuff is evil. It's wicked.

01:27:20.000 --> 01:27:22.000
And a lot of people just don't realize how bad it is.

01:27:22.000 --> 01:27:24.000
They don't realize how evil it is.

01:27:24.000 --> 01:27:31.000
And so, you know, of course, some places they're doing this where it's like the title of the business is like absolutely no ID.

01:27:31.000 --> 01:27:33.000
That's like the name of the place.

01:27:33.000 --> 01:27:37.000
And the reason why they're doing this is because it's fake checks or stolen checks.

01:27:38.000 --> 01:27:45.000
And then what they're doing is they're ripping off their own parents or grandma or whoever in order to pay these these checks that are fake.

01:27:45.000 --> 01:27:47.000
And again, who would run a business like that?

01:27:47.000 --> 01:27:50.000
Evil, wicked people.

01:27:50.000 --> 01:27:52.000
You know, this should just be eliminated from society.

01:27:52.000 --> 01:27:55.000
Honestly, the government should just eliminate this and outlaw this.

01:27:55.000 --> 01:28:00.000
People should not be able to take 20 and 30 percent out of people's paychecks just because they need it.

01:28:00.000 --> 01:28:01.000
Out of money they've already earned.

01:28:01.000 --> 01:28:05.000
You know, this is an evil practice that should be done away with.

01:28:05.000 --> 01:28:10.000
You know, money laundering and usury and all this kind of crazy stuff that plagues society.

01:28:10.000 --> 01:28:17.000
And then you wonder like why in the world would a whole bunch of people be excited about eliminating and eradicating these type of people from society?

01:28:17.000 --> 01:28:18.000
Because it's very harmful.

01:28:18.000 --> 01:28:20.000
It's very harmful to society.

01:28:20.000 --> 01:28:21.000
It hurts society.

01:28:21.000 --> 01:28:24.000
Now it says the father should not be put to death for the children.

01:28:24.000 --> 01:28:26.000
Neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers.

01:28:26.000 --> 01:28:28.000
Every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

01:28:28.000 --> 01:28:32.000
Again, this is why is this an undesirable thing?

01:28:32.000 --> 01:28:39.000
Because look, if your kid does something worthy of death, it kind of makes you undesirable in society too.

01:28:39.000 --> 01:28:43.000
And you kind of see this out there where they'll be like, here's the parents of the killer.

01:28:43.000 --> 01:28:46.000
Here's the parents of the evil kid.

01:28:46.000 --> 01:28:50.000
And it just makes the parents just look awful, look horrific.

01:28:50.000 --> 01:28:59.000
But God's putting in a protection here saying no matter how bad that kid is, we still cannot punish the parents for the kid's sin.

01:28:59.000 --> 01:29:04.000
The kid is the only one that's going to be punished for this particular sin.

01:29:04.000 --> 01:29:06.000
And it's just kind of a bad situation.

01:29:06.000 --> 01:29:12.000
Now, am I saying that parents cannot be somewhat responsible for their kids' actions?

01:29:12.000 --> 01:29:14.000
No, I'm not saying that that's not the case.

01:29:14.000 --> 01:29:15.000
Of course it could be the case.

01:29:15.000 --> 01:29:19.000
But it's also could be the case where the parents have been good parents and tried their best.

01:29:19.000 --> 01:29:22.000
And this is just a really wild rebellious seed.

01:29:22.000 --> 01:29:27.000
You see so many good men in the Bible having so many bad kids in the Bible.

01:29:27.000 --> 01:29:31.000
And you kind of have to ask this question, is just everybody a bad parent?

01:29:31.000 --> 01:29:35.000
Or is it just that free will really exists?

01:29:35.000 --> 01:29:37.000
And of course, I'm not a Calvinist.

01:29:37.000 --> 01:29:38.000
I believe in free will.

01:29:38.000 --> 01:29:48.000
And one of the proofs that I just don't think people have thought about hard enough that if perfect parents produced perfect kids, we wouldn't even have to ask that question.

01:29:48.000 --> 01:29:53.000
If that was even possible, we wouldn't even ask the question because we would just see it.

01:29:53.000 --> 01:29:57.000
There would be this huge group of people that exist in the world that are all perfect.

01:29:57.000 --> 01:30:00.000
Because how do you break a chain like that?

01:30:00.000 --> 01:30:03.000
If perfect parents raise perfect kids, guess what?

01:30:03.000 --> 01:30:07.000
They turn into perfect parents and then they raise what?

01:30:07.000 --> 01:30:09.000
Perfect kids.

01:30:09.000 --> 01:30:12.000
And then they turn into perfect parents and then they raise perfect what?

01:30:12.000 --> 01:30:13.000
Kids.

01:30:13.000 --> 01:30:14.000
You say, how do you break that chain?

01:30:14.000 --> 01:30:16.000
You can't.

01:30:16.000 --> 01:30:17.000
But guess what?

01:30:17.000 --> 01:30:19.000
It just doesn't exist.

01:30:19.000 --> 01:30:20.000
You know why?

01:30:20.000 --> 01:30:23.000
It's called free will.

01:30:23.000 --> 01:30:24.000
And let me explain something to you.

01:30:24.000 --> 01:30:28.000
How many people in this world are even saved?

01:30:28.000 --> 01:30:30.000
Is it like around five percent?

01:30:30.000 --> 01:30:32.000
Maybe you could be gracious and have a bigger number.

01:30:32.000 --> 01:30:35.000
But let's be honest, it's a pretty low number.

01:30:35.000 --> 01:30:39.000
And then even if those people, how many of those people are pretty great people that want to come to church?

01:30:39.000 --> 01:30:41.000
It's probably a little bit smaller percentage of that.

01:30:41.000 --> 01:30:49.000
So if 95 some percent of people aren't even choosing a free gift from God, then why would I think giving free will to people, they're just going to all turn out mad?

01:30:49.000 --> 01:30:50.000
We also been wonderful.

01:30:50.000 --> 01:30:52.000
It's just not very realistic.

01:30:52.000 --> 01:30:55.000
It's just not the math isn't on your side.

01:30:55.000 --> 01:30:57.000
The Bible isn't on your side.

01:30:57.000 --> 01:30:58.000
But you know what?

01:30:58.000 --> 01:30:59.000
God knows that.

01:30:59.000 --> 01:31:03.000
And so he put a provision in here to say, hey, I don't care how bad or rotten the kid is.

01:31:03.000 --> 01:31:08.000
We will not punish the parents criminally for what their child did.

01:31:08.000 --> 01:31:16.000
Now, obviously, if the parent participated, if the if the parent aided or helped in any way, then we would.

01:31:17.000 --> 01:31:21.000
But if they are completely innocent, they didn't participate, they're not guilty.

01:31:21.000 --> 01:31:23.000
Well, we're not going to punish them.

01:31:23.000 --> 01:31:28.000
You know, one particular famous case right now is how about the Tyler Robinson case with the Charlie Kirk situation?

01:31:28.000 --> 01:31:34.000
Now, look, I get a lot of people are just like, I don't believe the official narrative.

01:31:34.000 --> 01:31:36.000
That's fine.

01:31:36.000 --> 01:31:38.000
I don't know what happened.

01:31:38.000 --> 01:31:39.000
People.

01:31:39.000 --> 01:31:40.000
There's been big news recently.

01:31:40.000 --> 01:31:42.000
It's like the bullet didn't match the gun.

01:31:42.000 --> 01:31:44.000
This is like I've been seeing it everywhere.

01:31:44.000 --> 01:31:45.000
I don't know anything about it.

01:31:45.000 --> 01:31:48.000
I'm just going with the official narrative just because it proves the point.

01:31:48.000 --> 01:31:54.000
Let's just assume the official narrative was actually true and Tyler Robinson was the shooter and he did kill Charlie Kirk.

01:31:54.000 --> 01:32:00.000
Well, according to the official narrative, he went home and his dad confronted him on it and he confessed to his dad.

01:32:00.000 --> 01:32:02.000
And so his dad immediately turned him into the cops.

01:32:02.000 --> 01:32:04.000
I mean, basically just immediately turned him in.

01:32:04.000 --> 01:32:13.000
Well, you know, we shouldn't we shouldn't have any negative feelings towards Tyler Robinson's dad and Tyler Robinson's dad should face no charges and not be criminally held responsible.

01:32:13.000 --> 01:32:17.000
Even though he's kind of an undesirable person in society, because let's just be honest.

01:32:17.000 --> 01:32:22.000
If you ran into Tyler Robinson's dad in the grocery store, you're probably not like, let's take a pic.

01:32:22.000 --> 01:32:26.000
No, you're probably not like, hey, you want to come over to my house and hang out?

01:32:26.000 --> 01:32:28.000
You know, you're probably not going to have that opinion.

01:32:28.000 --> 01:32:30.000
But you know what could happen?

01:32:30.000 --> 01:32:34.000
People could want to form a lynch mob and kill that dad for what he did.

01:32:34.000 --> 01:32:35.000
But you know what?

01:32:35.000 --> 01:32:36.000
That would be wrong.

01:32:36.000 --> 01:32:39.000
We shouldn't punish the parents for what the kid did in this particular situation.

01:32:39.000 --> 01:32:41.000
And look, there's some bad kids in the Bible.

01:32:41.000 --> 01:32:42.000
Obviously, Noah has bad kids.

01:32:42.000 --> 01:32:44.000
Samuel has bad kids.

01:32:44.000 --> 01:32:45.000
Eli has bad kids.

01:32:45.000 --> 01:32:47.000
I mean, the list just goes on and on and on and on.

01:32:47.000 --> 01:32:50.000
David, I mean, David's got some really bad kids.

01:32:50.000 --> 01:32:52.000
Amnon, real bad.

01:32:52.000 --> 01:32:54.000
Absalom, real bad.

01:32:54.000 --> 01:32:56.000
Adonis, bad.

01:32:56.000 --> 01:32:58.000
I mean, they're all perverts, too.

01:32:58.000 --> 01:33:00.000
They're all weirdos and perverts.

01:33:00.000 --> 01:33:02.000
I mean, just don't name your kid with an A name, David.

01:33:02.000 --> 01:33:04.000
OK.

01:33:04.000 --> 01:33:06.000
All the names are just a disaster.

01:33:06.000 --> 01:33:08.000
Now, again, if you have an A name, I'm not mad at you.

01:33:08.000 --> 01:33:10.000
I'm just saying, David, you're a bad kid.

01:33:10.000 --> 01:33:11.000
I'm not mad at you.

01:33:11.000 --> 01:33:15.000
I'm just saying, you know, David really wasn't doing good on the A names, right?

01:33:15.000 --> 01:33:18.000
It was a disaster.

01:33:18.000 --> 01:33:20.000
But hey, he got Solomon.

01:33:20.000 --> 01:33:22.000
Oh, David's a bad dad.

01:33:22.000 --> 01:33:24.000
Well, then how did he get Solomon?

01:33:24.000 --> 01:33:26.000
How do you have one of the greatest kids?

01:33:26.000 --> 01:33:29.000
I think Solomon is great at the beginning.

01:33:29.000 --> 01:33:34.000
He kind of goes bad in his old age from all of his wives, not from his dad, from all of his wives.

01:33:34.000 --> 01:33:35.000
OK.

01:33:35.000 --> 01:33:37.000
Don't have wives.

01:33:37.000 --> 01:33:39.000
Don't have lots of women in your life.

01:33:39.000 --> 01:33:40.000
You know, you need one woman.

01:33:40.000 --> 01:33:41.000
That's enough.

01:33:41.000 --> 01:33:42.000
OK.

01:33:42.000 --> 01:33:44.000
Be not over much evils, what the Bible says.

01:33:44.000 --> 01:33:46.000
No, I'm just kidding.

01:33:46.000 --> 01:33:47.000
I love my wife.

01:33:47.000 --> 01:33:48.000
She's the best thing that's happened in my life.

01:33:48.000 --> 01:33:49.000
OK.

01:33:49.000 --> 01:33:51.000
I'm just, it's just the Bible.

01:33:51.000 --> 01:33:52.000
All right.

01:33:52.000 --> 01:34:01.000
Now, it says here in verse 17, Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless, nor take a widow's raiment to pledge.

01:34:01.000 --> 01:34:06.000
But thou shalt remember that thou was a bondman in Egypt, and the Lord thy God redeemed thee thence.

01:34:06.000 --> 01:34:09.000
Therefore I command thee to do this thing.

01:34:09.000 --> 01:34:11.000
So we're not supposed to harm the stranger, fatherless, widow.

01:34:11.000 --> 01:34:14.000
Again, all people that are undesirable in society.

01:34:14.000 --> 01:34:16.000
Strangers, undesirables.

01:34:16.000 --> 01:34:18.000
Widows, undesirables.

01:34:18.000 --> 01:34:20.000
Fatherless, undesirables in society.

01:34:20.000 --> 01:34:23.000
But the Bible is saying, hey, we shouldn't pervert the judgment.

01:34:23.000 --> 01:34:25.000
We shouldn't afflict them.

01:34:25.000 --> 01:34:28.000
We shouldn't take their clothes literally for a pledge.

01:34:28.000 --> 01:34:30.000
We shouldn't take their clothes from them.

01:34:30.000 --> 01:34:32.000
How wicked and evil to do this to them.

01:34:32.000 --> 01:34:39.000
And there's this 19 through 22 is basically giving kind of the same concept and other, other ways.

01:34:39.000 --> 01:34:46.000
When thou cutest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgotten a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it.

01:34:46.000 --> 01:34:49.000
It shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

01:34:49.000 --> 01:34:52.000
That the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hands.

01:34:52.000 --> 01:34:56.000
When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again.

01:34:56.000 --> 01:34:59.000
It shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

01:35:00.000 --> 01:35:04.000
When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it afterward.

01:35:04.000 --> 01:35:07.000
It shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

01:35:07.000 --> 01:35:10.000
And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt.

01:35:10.000 --> 01:35:12.000
Therefore, I command thee to do this thing.

01:35:12.000 --> 01:35:14.000
Now, again, why does he bring up a couple scenarios?

01:35:14.000 --> 01:35:23.000
I think he gives up a couple scenarios to help you realize he's not saying literally just don't do this to your corn or something or your wheat.

01:35:23.000 --> 01:35:27.000
It's like just basically in general, you should leave something out there for them.

01:35:27.000 --> 01:35:28.000
You should try to help them.

01:35:28.000 --> 01:35:38.000
If you think about the scenario, though, he's also not saying go out there, reap every single thing, and then just give it to them as handouts and free.

01:35:38.000 --> 01:35:42.000
They still have to actually go out there and reap it themselves.

01:35:42.000 --> 01:35:44.000
Okay, so sometimes we have to consider the cause of the poor.

01:35:44.000 --> 01:35:53.000
Sometimes we have to still offer a job or work or allow people to work for themselves still and not necessarily give everybody a bunch of handouts.

01:35:53.000 --> 01:35:55.000
Handouts often ruin people.

01:35:55.000 --> 01:35:57.000
The lottery ruins people.

01:35:57.000 --> 01:35:59.000
Welfare ruins people.

01:35:59.000 --> 01:36:01.000
Food stamps ruins people.

01:36:01.000 --> 01:36:06.000
And most people on these programs abuse those programs, are lying about what they're actually doing.

01:36:06.000 --> 01:36:15.000
There's many government programs used to assist poor people, and then the poor people are just taking advantage of those systems and ruining those systems.

01:36:15.000 --> 01:36:22.000
Whereas if you have to actually go out and still reap, you're going to be less likely to rip these systems off, take advantage of these particular systems.

01:36:23.000 --> 01:36:27.000
And so, you know, we should always consider ways to accommodate this.

01:36:27.000 --> 01:36:28.000
But you know what?

01:36:28.000 --> 01:36:36.000
We could apply this to ourselves that we should not be stingy with our excess because if you think about it, they already went out there and gathered.

01:36:36.000 --> 01:36:39.000
It's kind of like that wasn't even that important to them.

01:36:39.000 --> 01:36:40.000
That wasn't that necessary to them.

01:36:40.000 --> 01:36:42.000
Otherwise, they would have taken it the first time.

01:36:42.000 --> 01:36:44.000
This is kind of like their leftover.

01:36:44.000 --> 01:36:51.000
And I think the Bible is based saying in general, we should not be stingy with the excess money that God gives us the excess goods and the things that we're going to eat.

01:36:51.000 --> 01:36:54.000
We should be willing to provide them to people.

01:36:54.000 --> 01:37:10.000
Again, not to the able-bodied, drunk on the corner, to the stranger, to the fatherless, to the widow, to people that we have considered the cause of the poor and we're assisting and aiding and helping and comforting those particular individuals and trying to do good under those individuals.

01:37:10.000 --> 01:37:12.000
Go to James 1 for a moment.

01:37:12.000 --> 01:37:13.000
We'll go to James 1.

01:37:13.000 --> 01:37:15.000
We'll kind of finish with these concepts here.

01:37:15.000 --> 01:37:18.000
What would be kind of a spiritual application?

01:37:19.000 --> 01:37:24.000
Well, of course, one application would be that God wants us to do good on the undesirable people.

01:37:24.000 --> 01:37:32.000
Now, I think you have to understand two different words because I thought about preaching a whole sermon on this topic a long time ago, like loving the undesirable.

01:37:32.000 --> 01:37:40.000
And the thing that kind of held me back initially was I was thinking about reprobates and I was thinking like, well, we shouldn't love those people, though.

01:37:40.000 --> 01:37:43.000
And I was kind of having a hard time wrestling with it.

01:37:43.000 --> 01:37:48.000
But thinking about it more, there's a difference between undesirables and reprobates, though.

01:37:48.000 --> 01:37:51.000
Undesirables are you just don't really want to be around them, you don't like them.

01:37:51.000 --> 01:37:53.000
Reprobates, you've rejected.

01:37:53.000 --> 01:37:54.000
Okay.

01:37:54.000 --> 01:37:58.000
We shouldn't necessarily reject everyone that we don't like or is undesirable.

01:37:58.000 --> 01:38:00.000
So these are two different categories.

01:38:00.000 --> 01:38:09.000
The reprobate has been rejected for being a hater of God, being wicked and an abomination, whereas the undesirable has just, you know, got some problems.

01:38:09.000 --> 01:38:10.000
And let's just be honest.

01:38:10.000 --> 01:38:15.000
Most of the people that we read about in this particular chapter, most of the situations are just problematic people.

01:38:15.000 --> 01:38:26.000
People that have some uncleanness, somebody has a disease, someone that's sick, someone that can't pay back their loans, someone that's a stranger, someone that's in an undesirable situation.

01:38:26.000 --> 01:38:28.000
Again, sometimes it's not even their fault entirely.

01:38:28.000 --> 01:38:31.000
A widow or a fatherless, that's not really their fault.

01:38:31.000 --> 01:38:33.000
Someone that married a wife.

01:38:33.000 --> 01:38:37.000
I get that they're not necessarily an undesirable person inherently.

01:38:38.000 --> 01:38:42.000
But just for the military context, they're undesirable in that particular context.

01:38:42.000 --> 01:38:50.000
But the Bible teaches that a Christian attitude should be to love the undesirable people in society and to love people in undesirable situations.

01:38:50.000 --> 01:38:52.000
What does it say in James 1 verse 27?

01:38:52.000 --> 01:39:00.000
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

01:39:00.000 --> 01:39:04.000
So the religion, according to the Bible, is this.

01:39:04.000 --> 01:39:05.000
Now notice it does say pure religion.

01:39:05.000 --> 01:39:07.000
Obviously there could be false religion.

01:39:07.000 --> 01:39:09.000
Some people say like, oh, I'm against religion.

01:39:09.000 --> 01:39:11.000
Religion is a neutral word.

01:39:11.000 --> 01:39:13.000
Religion could be used in a negative way.

01:39:13.000 --> 01:39:15.000
It could be used in a positive way.

01:39:15.000 --> 01:39:18.000
It's simply just spiritual devotion to something.

01:39:18.000 --> 01:39:27.000
But you know, God is saying, hey, spiritual devotion, spiritual religion, pure religion would be to care for and to love the undesirable people.

01:39:27.000 --> 01:39:28.000
Why?

01:39:28.000 --> 01:39:30.000
Because they're not going to love you.

01:39:31.000 --> 01:39:33.000
And we should follow his example by loving those people as well.

01:39:33.000 --> 01:39:35.000
And the way that we love God, according to the Bible, in many cases how we love people.

01:39:35.000 --> 01:39:41.000
If you say that you love God and you can't love your brother whom you see, well, then you're just a liar and you don't really love God.

01:39:41.000 --> 01:39:49.000
So, of course, people that are unwilling to go out into the highways and hedges are unwilling to go into the poor and the ghettos and preach the gospel.

01:39:49.000 --> 01:39:51.000
And you can't love your brother whom you see.

01:39:51.000 --> 01:39:53.000
You can't love your brother whom you see.

01:39:53.000 --> 01:39:55.000
You can't love your brother whom you see.

01:39:55.000 --> 01:39:56.000
And so, what is the problem?

01:39:56.000 --> 01:40:00.000
The problem is that people that are unwilling to go out into the highways and hedges are unwilling to go into the poor and the ghettos and preach the gospel.

01:40:00.000 --> 01:40:04.000
The fatherless and the widows does not love God.

01:40:04.000 --> 01:40:06.000
They don't love God.

01:40:06.000 --> 01:40:08.000
And they don't have a pure religion.

01:40:08.000 --> 01:40:11.000
And look, I'm not against people being kind and generous.

01:40:11.000 --> 01:40:14.000
And if you just want to open your hand wide under the poor, go for it.

01:40:14.000 --> 01:40:20.000
But in general, you know, their only ministry is a, quote, food kitchen or a food pantry, which I just don't even think is necessarily even entirely a food pantry.

01:40:20.000 --> 01:40:24.600
quote, food kitchen or a food pantry, which I just don't even think is necessarily even

01:40:24.600 --> 01:40:30.000
entirely what the Bible is saying here because they're just handing it out for free.

01:40:30.000 --> 01:40:33.880
It's just completely free and often they're still not giving the right gospel.

01:40:33.880 --> 01:40:36.080
Many of these food pantries have the wrong gospel.

01:40:36.080 --> 01:40:38.160
They're not even providing them the gospel.

01:40:38.160 --> 01:40:42.400
Ones that even have the right gospel, they're not being very confrontational about the gospel.

01:40:42.400 --> 01:40:46.580
I mean if we had a food pantry, which I don't believe we ever will, but even if we did,

01:40:46.580 --> 01:40:49.440
you better believe I'm going to be like, well, if you want that, I'm going to give you the

01:40:49.440 --> 01:40:50.440
gospel.

01:40:50.440 --> 01:40:53.840
You have to work for this a little bit.

01:40:53.840 --> 01:40:59.160
I worked at a homeless and addiction recovery center and they gave out free meals, but there

01:40:59.160 --> 01:41:00.320
was a catch.

01:41:00.320 --> 01:41:03.000
You had to come to the service before the meal.

01:41:03.000 --> 01:41:06.320
So you came in for the service, doors closed.

01:41:06.320 --> 01:41:07.320
After the service, you get the meal.

01:41:07.320 --> 01:41:10.800
I'll at least count that because that's working a little bit.

01:41:10.800 --> 01:41:14.800
For me to yell and scream at you for about 45 minutes was enough for me to feel justified

01:41:14.800 --> 01:41:15.800
in you getting a meal.

01:41:16.800 --> 01:41:18.160
We got them trapped.

01:41:18.160 --> 01:41:22.320
I had no problem confronting them hard on whether they're saved or not, trying to give

01:41:22.320 --> 01:41:23.900
them the gospel and getting them saved.

01:41:23.900 --> 01:41:27.760
So anybody that had one of these ministries, boy, you better be confronting them and giving

01:41:27.760 --> 01:41:28.920
the gospel.

01:41:28.920 --> 01:41:33.480
But even better than having them come to you with food and gimmicks, why don't you just

01:41:33.480 --> 01:41:34.480
go to them?

01:41:34.480 --> 01:41:38.040
Why don't you just go out to the highways and the hedges and knock on the doors and

01:41:38.040 --> 01:41:43.560
do some screen door evangelism and try to help them repeat a prayer with you after they

01:41:43.560 --> 01:41:44.560
understand the gospel?

01:41:45.440 --> 01:41:47.960
You know, there's nothing wrong with repeating a prayer.

01:41:47.960 --> 01:41:48.960
I mean, think about it.

01:41:48.960 --> 01:41:51.880
What about when disciples are like, hey, Jesus teaches to pray?

01:41:51.880 --> 01:41:53.280
Well, you shouldn't repeat a prayer.

01:41:54.760 --> 01:41:56.640
That's not what Jesus said.

01:41:56.640 --> 01:41:59.440
Jesus is like, oh, you want to pray like this?

01:41:59.440 --> 01:42:01.400
Let me just give you an exact prayer.

01:42:01.400 --> 01:42:05.600
Now, obviously, false religions just literally repeat it ad nauseam.

01:42:05.600 --> 01:42:10.120
But you know, there's nothing wrong with, quote, repeat repeating a prayer or someone

01:42:10.120 --> 01:42:14.080
teaching you how to pray or someone giving you the exact words to a prayer.

01:42:14.080 --> 01:42:18.000
Think about this. People say like, oh, it's unbiblical to pray with people and give them

01:42:18.000 --> 01:42:19.960
the words. You mean like Jesus did?

01:42:20.840 --> 01:42:25.880
You mean like Jesus said, hey, here's an example prayer or like when Jesus is saying,

01:42:25.880 --> 01:42:29.000
hey, here's a guy that's praying and asking for salvation.

01:42:29.400 --> 01:42:33.080
One guy, the publican, praises himself, not saved.

01:42:33.240 --> 01:42:35.840
Here's the other guy saying God will mercy me a sinner.

01:42:35.960 --> 01:42:37.280
And then he went home justified.

01:42:37.680 --> 01:42:42.160
Now, if praying and asking Jesus to save you isn't necessary, then why did Jesus use an

01:42:42.160 --> 01:42:45.840
illustration where a guy's praying and asking for salvation and declare him saved?

01:42:47.080 --> 01:42:51.120
Why didn't he say there was two prideful, arrogant jerks on YouTube thinking about

01:42:51.120 --> 01:42:54.200
salvation and then one when he thought correctly got saved?

01:42:55.480 --> 01:42:56.560
Why do you think that?

01:42:56.560 --> 01:43:00.920
I mean, if praying a prayer isn't necessary for salvation, then why in the world would

01:43:00.920 --> 01:43:06.040
Jesus Christ use an example of someone praying a prayer to get saved and then say that guy

01:43:06.040 --> 01:43:08.040
got saved? You know why?

01:43:08.040 --> 01:43:12.120
Because it's necessary for who's there to call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

01:43:12.560 --> 01:43:13.640
That's what the Bible says.

01:43:14.240 --> 01:43:17.480
And if you want to take prayer out of the equation, then here's my question.

01:43:17.480 --> 01:43:20.120
How are you involving God in that guy's salvation in the first place?

01:43:20.840 --> 01:43:22.440
Is it just intellectual assent?

01:43:23.120 --> 01:43:24.440
God wasn't even involved.

01:43:24.720 --> 01:43:29.200
It kind of makes sense that just as Peter was drowning and he said, Lord, save me.

01:43:29.440 --> 01:43:30.480
That's when he saved him.

01:43:31.200 --> 01:43:35.000
Just like every other person that was sick and disease and that a problem in the New

01:43:35.000 --> 01:43:38.880
Testament is basically saying, son of David, have mercy on me.

01:43:39.000 --> 01:43:41.720
And isn't it funny that that guy said that like a bunch of times?

01:43:42.560 --> 01:43:43.800
Until you got the answer.

01:43:44.080 --> 01:43:47.640
You know, some people like, oh, how dare you pray multiple times to get saved?

01:43:47.760 --> 01:43:51.080
Well, these guys are yelling out and calling multiple times.

01:43:51.920 --> 01:43:56.320
You know, the people that attack, you know, soul winning always sounds stupid because

01:43:56.320 --> 01:43:57.280
the Bible corrects them.

01:43:58.080 --> 01:43:59.160
So winning is right.

01:43:59.480 --> 01:44:01.000
Calling upon the Lord is right.

01:44:01.280 --> 01:44:02.360
Salvation is right.

01:44:02.440 --> 01:44:05.240
And, you know, going to the poor and giving them saved is right.

01:44:05.840 --> 01:44:08.560
And these people that don't believe in calling the name of the Lord, when's the last

01:44:08.560 --> 01:44:10.520
time they went in the ghetto and tried to get people saved?

01:44:12.520 --> 01:44:16.920
They just want to be on YouTube and look all polished and look all cute and manicured.

01:44:17.280 --> 01:44:18.320
That's what they want to do.

01:44:18.480 --> 01:44:20.240
And just have a following on YouTube.

01:44:20.440 --> 01:44:22.840
Because let me tell you something going soul winning doesn't build your YouTube

01:44:22.840 --> 01:44:28.040
ministry. Being a prideful, arrogant jerk, you're going to explode with followers for

01:44:28.040 --> 01:44:33.240
some reason. Whenever you praise yourself and glorify yourself and have this polished

01:44:33.240 --> 01:44:34.920
manicure version of yourself.

01:44:35.240 --> 01:44:38.920
Well, then you're just going to collect all kinds of trashy people like you are.

01:44:39.400 --> 01:44:42.720
But you know what? You go into the ghettos and you preach the gospel, you'll get people

01:44:42.720 --> 01:44:45.080
saved and you say, well, that doesn't seem very desirable.

01:44:45.200 --> 01:44:47.800
Exactly. The whole chapter is about undesirables.

01:44:48.400 --> 01:44:50.240
Someone needs to love the undesirables.

01:44:50.360 --> 01:44:52.600
And let me tell you something. God loves the undesirables.

01:44:53.040 --> 01:44:58.480
We were all sinners and Jesus Christ loved us enough to send his son to die for us.

01:44:58.760 --> 01:44:59.960
All the undesirables.

01:45:00.080 --> 01:45:03.040
While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

01:45:04.000 --> 01:45:07.560
And you know what? Jesus Christ, you know, this is the last supper timing.

01:45:08.040 --> 01:45:10.760
He was having to really prepare himself for what he's going to do.

01:45:10.840 --> 01:45:15.680
He was going to have to walk, you know, up Calvary's Mountain beaten already with a

01:45:15.680 --> 01:45:20.200
crown of thorns, carrying his own cross for a bunch of sinners, for a bunch of

01:45:20.200 --> 01:45:23.040
undesirables, for a bunch of people that wouldn't even believe in him.

01:45:24.160 --> 01:45:27.200
And you know, that's what the gospel is all about is the undesirables anyways.

01:45:27.720 --> 01:45:30.960
And, you know, the whole gospel is just about undesirable people.

01:45:30.960 --> 01:45:34.600
If you think about that first story, that woman being divorced and remarried

01:45:34.640 --> 01:45:37.640
multiple times, isn't that just the woman at the whale in John chapter number four?

01:45:39.160 --> 01:45:43.360
He says, hey, you've had five husbands and now the one you're with isn't even your

01:45:43.360 --> 01:45:47.760
husband. This woman's been rejected and then rejected and then rejected and then

01:45:47.760 --> 01:45:49.240
rejected and then rejected.

01:45:49.960 --> 01:45:51.840
But you know what? Jesus didn't reject her.

01:45:52.960 --> 01:45:56.600
Jesus was willing to give her salvation and eternal life.

01:45:56.600 --> 01:46:01.840
And she became the bride of Christ, where she would never be put away, no matter how

01:46:01.840 --> 01:46:05.920
much uncleanness she had, no matter how much the guys are like, I can see why he

01:46:05.920 --> 01:46:09.800
puts you away. Then the next guy, then the next guy and the next guy, no matter how

01:46:09.800 --> 01:46:15.680
much man rejected her, Jesus Christ accepted her and received her and gave her

01:46:15.680 --> 01:46:17.840
that living water, eternal life.

01:46:19.240 --> 01:46:22.320
You know, the Bible gives a parable of guys that made excuse.

01:46:22.880 --> 01:46:25.240
Go to Luke chapter 14, let's go to a few of these.

01:46:25.560 --> 01:46:27.000
They made excuse.

01:46:27.560 --> 01:46:30.280
You know, everything that we read in June 24 is just basically stories in the

01:46:30.280 --> 01:46:36.040
gospel. If you realize it, we have the woman at the well, then we get into the guy

01:46:36.040 --> 01:46:37.840
that was recently married.

01:46:38.200 --> 01:46:41.720
But, you know, this guy is undesirable and the guy that recently got married, he doesn't

01:46:41.720 --> 01:46:45.040
want to get served. Jesus, look at Luke chapter 14, verse 18.

01:46:46.080 --> 01:46:48.360
And they all, with one consent, began to make excuse.

01:46:49.000 --> 01:46:51.360
The first said to them, I have bought a piece of ground.

01:46:51.360 --> 01:46:52.600
I must needs go and see it.

01:46:52.920 --> 01:46:54.560
I pray that you have me excused.

01:46:54.840 --> 01:46:58.120
And another said, I bought five yoke of oxen and I go to prove them.

01:46:58.640 --> 01:46:59.840
I pray that you have me excused.

01:46:59.840 --> 01:47:03.080
And another said, I have married a wife and therefore I cannot come.

01:47:03.640 --> 01:47:05.880
Well, you know what? The undesirables.

01:47:06.200 --> 01:47:08.200
But again, obviously, he could be redeemed later.

01:47:08.200 --> 01:47:10.560
But notice this is an excuse that a lot of people make.

01:47:11.120 --> 01:47:12.720
They don't want to serve Jesus Christ.

01:47:13.000 --> 01:47:14.520
Go to Luke 5, go back a little bit.

01:47:15.640 --> 01:47:20.400
We talked about a lot of leprosy in this particular text.

01:47:20.960 --> 01:47:23.040
But you know what? Jesus loved that person anyways.

01:47:24.240 --> 01:47:27.520
And of course, the person that made the excuse, he was still trying to call them to the

01:47:27.880 --> 01:47:29.760
gospel and say, hey, let the dead bury their dead.

01:47:30.280 --> 01:47:34.560
He's saying, hey, I know that's an excuse and I know we don't want you because of that.

01:47:34.680 --> 01:47:38.400
But I'll still take you. Even if you married a new wife, I'll still take you.

01:47:38.600 --> 01:47:40.600
The guy that's outside the town, that's leprous.

01:47:40.800 --> 01:47:43.480
Jesus will still take him, says in verse 12.

01:47:43.480 --> 01:47:47.120
And it came to pass when he was in a certain city, the old man full of leprosy,

01:47:47.400 --> 01:47:51.120
who's seeing Jesus fell on his face and beside him saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou

01:47:51.120 --> 01:47:55.440
canst make me clean. And he put forth his hand and touched him saying, I will be thou

01:47:55.480 --> 01:47:58.200
clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.

01:47:58.560 --> 01:48:03.520
You know, these are undesirable people in the world, but to Jesus, he would go to them.

01:48:04.000 --> 01:48:07.960
Jesus went to the adulterous woman, the divorced woman that was rejected.

01:48:08.280 --> 01:48:10.600
Jesus went to the guys making the excuse.

01:48:10.760 --> 01:48:15.000
Jesus is going to the people outside the town that have leprosy.

01:48:15.880 --> 01:48:20.280
And then, of course, we have all the rest, the stranger, the fatherless and the widows.

01:48:20.680 --> 01:48:22.640
Look at chapter four, verse 18.

01:48:26.440 --> 01:48:27.520
This is what Jesus read.

01:48:27.520 --> 01:48:30.880
The spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor.

01:48:31.120 --> 01:48:33.640
He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives

01:48:34.000 --> 01:48:37.360
and recovering of sight to the blind and set at liberty them that are bruised,

01:48:37.600 --> 01:48:39.400
to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

01:48:39.400 --> 01:48:42.160
And he closed the book and he gave it in the minister and sat down.

01:48:42.720 --> 01:48:45.520
And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on them

01:48:45.760 --> 01:48:50.040
and began to say unto them, this day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

01:48:50.840 --> 01:48:56.520
So here we have Jesus Christ talking about how he's going to the stranger, to the poor.

01:48:57.240 --> 01:49:01.240
He's going to the fatherless, to the widow, to all these undesirable people.

01:49:01.440 --> 01:49:03.440
And that's where the gospel went.

01:49:03.440 --> 01:49:06.040
And you know what? In our society, it's going to be no different

01:49:06.280 --> 01:49:09.200
where the gospel is going to be most effective and most receptive

01:49:09.360 --> 01:49:11.440
to the undesirables of society.

01:49:11.440 --> 01:49:14.240
Those have been rejected by society, but Jesus will still take them.

01:49:14.680 --> 01:49:18.920
You know, if you think about the other parables, how Jesus taught

01:49:19.400 --> 01:49:22.440
that there was these guys going out to bid people to the marriage, to the wedding,

01:49:22.720 --> 01:49:24.280
and many people didn't want to come.

01:49:24.280 --> 01:49:28.320
And so they went out to the highways and the hedges and they're getting the bad.

01:49:29.000 --> 01:49:31.040
They're getting the bad people to come in.

01:49:31.040 --> 01:49:34.480
You know, it's often it's the it's the harlots that would come to Jesus Christ.

01:49:34.480 --> 01:49:37.880
It's the publicans that would come to all the undesirables in many cases.

01:49:38.160 --> 01:49:41.520
Now, again, some people take this and they'll apply it to reprobates.

01:49:41.680 --> 01:49:43.760
No, Jesus didn't go to the quote gay bar.

01:49:44.280 --> 01:49:47.240
OK, he would have burned it even in the New Testament. All right.

01:49:48.000 --> 01:49:50.000
But he did go to the undesirables of society.

01:49:50.600 --> 01:49:52.360
And yeah, he would have gone to the poor ghettos

01:49:52.360 --> 01:49:54.920
and he would have gone to the sick and we got into the lame

01:49:54.960 --> 01:49:58.280
and we went on to the poor and we got to those that couldn't fend for themselves

01:49:58.440 --> 01:49:59.240
because he loved them.

01:49:59.240 --> 01:49:59.680
And you know what?

01:49:59.680 --> 01:50:02.520
A true Christian attitude is one that loves undesirable people.

01:50:04.000 --> 01:50:06.240
And they're not always looking to see what they can get out of it.

01:50:07.240 --> 01:50:08.440
Because let me tell you something.

01:50:08.440 --> 01:50:13.120
Love in the poor and the sick and the lame and the ghetto

01:50:13.480 --> 01:50:16.360
isn't going to get you anything.

01:50:16.360 --> 01:50:18.360
A lot of people are thinking like, what am I going to get out of church?

01:50:18.720 --> 01:50:20.240
Wrong attitude.

01:50:20.240 --> 01:50:23.360
If you go to a good church and you're doing what the gospel says,

01:50:23.640 --> 01:50:26.240
you're going to give way more than you get.

01:50:27.040 --> 01:50:30.280
You will give way more than you get going on a missions trip.

01:50:30.480 --> 01:50:34.040
You have to spend way more than you'll be reimbursed.

01:50:34.160 --> 01:50:37.000
You have to spend way more than you'll be reimbursed.

01:50:37.280 --> 01:50:38.720
But you know what the Bible says?

01:50:38.720 --> 01:50:41.000
It's more blessed to give.

01:50:41.000 --> 01:50:45.000
Ventures. And look, when you pour that much blessing into the

01:50:45.280 --> 01:50:47.840
to the undesirables, Jesus is going to bless you

01:50:48.280 --> 01:50:50.520
and he's going to do good unto you in this life and in the next.

01:50:50.960 --> 01:50:51.480
And you know what?

01:50:51.480 --> 01:50:54.200
Jesus didn't come down to this earth to be blessed.

01:50:54.600 --> 01:50:56.760
He didn't come down to see what he's going to get.

01:50:56.760 --> 01:51:00.560
He came to give his life a ransom, a ransom for many.

01:51:00.880 --> 01:51:03.920
And you know what our attitude in the time of Passover,

01:51:03.920 --> 01:51:07.200
when we're thinking about Jesus Christ is to say, hey, what can we give?

01:51:07.200 --> 01:51:10.280
Not what can we can we get?

01:51:10.280 --> 01:51:12.000
Why have a soul wedding marathon on Saturday?

01:51:12.000 --> 01:51:14.400
Well, let's see what we can give on Saturday, not what we can get.

01:51:15.200 --> 01:51:18.240
And of course, we shouldn't limit it to one day out of the year.

01:51:18.240 --> 01:51:19.720
Let's do soul wedding as much as we can.

01:51:19.720 --> 01:51:20.720
Let's do soul wedding every day.

01:51:20.720 --> 01:51:21.720
We got breath in our lungs.

01:51:21.720 --> 01:51:23.160
But at the end of the day, you know what?

01:51:23.160 --> 01:51:26.320
At this time, we're thinking about what Christ has done for us and his example.

01:51:26.560 --> 01:51:28.120
It's not about what we get.

01:51:28.120 --> 01:51:31.040
It's about what Christ gave and us following his example.

01:51:31.360 --> 01:51:35.400
Jesus is telling us to take up our cross and we'll read a chapter here

01:51:35.400 --> 01:51:36.840
about all these undesirable people.

01:51:37.080 --> 01:51:38.240
What would society say?

01:51:38.240 --> 01:51:39.240
Let's stay away from them.

01:51:39.920 --> 01:51:41.280
Let's build our community far away.

01:51:42.240 --> 01:51:46.840
Let's put high high gates and strong towers and let's keep them all away from us.

01:51:47.000 --> 01:51:48.440
Whereas Jesus said, hey, where are they at?

01:51:48.440 --> 01:51:49.840
I want to go to them.

01:51:49.840 --> 01:51:50.960
I want to go to the sick.

01:51:50.960 --> 01:51:51.720
I want to go to the poor.

01:51:51.720 --> 01:51:52.640
I want to go to the widow.

01:51:52.640 --> 01:51:53.800
I want to go to the fatherless.

01:51:53.800 --> 01:51:55.800
I want to find them because you know what?

01:51:55.800 --> 01:51:57.680
I'm going to preach the gospel and they're going to get saved.

01:51:59.200 --> 01:52:01.520
And, you know, if you go so long enough, you'll realize South Lake

01:52:01.520 --> 01:52:04.520
isn't the best area to go so long.

01:52:04.520 --> 01:52:08.440
The South Dallas, that's where you get a lot of people say,

01:52:08.960 --> 01:52:11.480
you know, you go to the third world country, it's great.

01:52:12.000 --> 01:52:14.320
You go to the rich, the super ultra wealthy.

01:52:14.640 --> 01:52:16.520
They're not nearly as receptive.

01:52:16.520 --> 01:52:17.840
It's not it's not the same.

01:52:17.840 --> 01:52:19.400
And so, you know, why do you all go to the poor?

01:52:19.400 --> 01:52:21.320
Because we want people to get saved.

01:52:21.320 --> 01:52:23.440
And it's, of course, the example that Jesus gave us.

01:52:23.600 --> 01:52:26.040
And you know what? God loves undesirable people.

01:52:26.760 --> 01:52:27.720
So we should, too.

01:52:27.720 --> 01:52:30.360
Let's go somewhere. Thank you, Father, so much for your example.

01:52:30.360 --> 01:52:34.080
Thank you for loving those who are undesirable in society.

01:52:34.080 --> 01:52:36.520
I pray that we would not have a negative attitude.

01:52:36.840 --> 01:52:39.920
We wouldn't treat them harshly, that we could be compassionate,

01:52:39.920 --> 01:52:41.560
that we have pity upon them.

01:52:41.560 --> 01:52:44.520
I pray that we would not only be willing to

01:52:45.560 --> 01:52:50.440
give of our carnal substance at times and not be stingy with our money,

01:52:50.440 --> 01:52:53.880
but we'd be even more gracious with our time with the gospel.

01:52:53.880 --> 01:52:57.040
And that would be willing to give unto people eternal life,

01:52:57.760 --> 01:53:02.520
the living bread, not just carnal bread, but living bread and living water.

01:53:02.920 --> 01:53:06.000
And I pray that you would motivate our church to love those

01:53:06.000 --> 01:53:09.520
that are never going to repay us, knowing that you will repay us.

01:53:09.920 --> 01:53:11.760
And that will be greatly rewarded in heaven.

01:53:11.760 --> 01:53:13.680
In Jesus name we pray, amen. Amen.

01:53:17.760 --> 01:53:21.520
All right, for our last song, let's go to song number 356.

01:53:21.520 --> 01:53:29.520
356.

01:53:34.720 --> 01:53:36.400
I must tell Jesus.

01:53:36.400 --> 01:53:40.240
Song number 356.

01:53:41.200 --> 01:53:42.560
Let's all sing that out together.

01:53:42.560 --> 01:53:46.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:53:46.560 --> 01:53:50.560
All of my trials.

01:53:50.560 --> 01:53:56.560
I cannot bear these burdens alone.

01:53:56.560 --> 01:54:04.560
Yet my distressing kindly will help me.

01:54:04.560 --> 01:54:10.560
He ever loves and cares for me alone.

01:54:11.280 --> 01:54:14.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:54:14.560 --> 01:54:18.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:54:18.560 --> 01:54:24.560
I cannot bear my burdens alone.

01:54:24.560 --> 01:54:28.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:54:28.560 --> 01:54:32.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:54:32.560 --> 01:54:34.560
Jesus can help me.

01:54:34.560 --> 01:54:38.560
Jesus alone.

01:54:38.560 --> 01:54:42.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:54:42.560 --> 01:54:44.560
All of my troubles.

01:54:44.560 --> 01:54:50.560
He is a kind, compassionate friend.

01:54:50.560 --> 01:54:58.560
If I could ask him, he will deliver.

01:54:58.560 --> 01:55:04.560
Make up my troubles quickly and then.

01:55:04.560 --> 01:55:08.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:55:08.560 --> 01:55:12.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:55:12.560 --> 01:55:18.560
I cannot bear my burdens alone.

01:55:18.560 --> 01:55:22.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:55:22.560 --> 01:55:26.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:55:26.560 --> 01:55:28.560
Jesus can help me.

01:55:28.560 --> 01:55:32.560
Jesus alone.

01:55:32.560 --> 01:55:38.560
If dead and tried, I need a great Savior.

01:55:38.560 --> 01:55:44.560
One who can help my burdens to bear.

01:55:44.560 --> 01:55:48.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:55:48.560 --> 01:55:52.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:55:52.560 --> 01:55:58.560
He all my cares and sorrows will share.

01:55:58.560 --> 01:56:02.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:56:02.560 --> 01:56:06.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:56:06.560 --> 01:56:12.560
I cannot bear my burdens alone.

01:56:12.560 --> 01:56:16.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:56:16.560 --> 01:56:18.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:56:18.560 --> 01:56:22.560
Jesus can help me.

01:56:22.560 --> 01:56:26.560
Jesus alone.

01:56:26.560 --> 01:56:32.560
They control the world to evil others weep.

01:56:32.560 --> 01:56:38.560
Oh how my heart is tempted to sin.

01:56:38.560 --> 01:56:42.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:56:42.560 --> 01:56:46.560
And he will help me.

01:56:46.560 --> 01:56:52.560
Over the world the victory to win.

01:56:52.560 --> 01:56:55.560
I must tell Jesus.

01:56:55.560 --> 01:57:05.560
I must tell Jesus, I must tell Jesus, I cannot bear my burden alone.

01:57:05.560 --> 01:57:19.560
I must tell Jesus, I must tell Jesus, Jesus can help me, Jesus alone.

01:57:19.560 --> 01:57:22.560
Great singing everybody, you are all dismissed.

01:58:19.560 --> 01:58:31.560
I must tell Jesus, I must tell Jesus, I cannot bear my burden alone.
