00:00.000 --> 00:02.760
Windows of heaven were stopped and the rain from heaven was restrained.

00:02.760 --> 00:06.640
And the waters returned from off the earth continually.

00:06.640 --> 00:10.120
And after the end of the 150 days the waters were abated.

00:10.120 --> 00:13.680
And the ark rested in the seventh month on the seventeenth day of the month upon the

00:13.680 --> 00:15.640
mountains of Ararat.

00:15.640 --> 00:18.480
And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month.

00:18.480 --> 00:22.160
And the tenth month on the first day of the month were the tops of the mountains seen.

00:22.160 --> 00:26.040
And it came to pass at the end of forty days that Noah opened the window of the ark which

00:26.040 --> 00:27.040
he had made.

00:28.040 --> 00:32.080
And he sent forth a raven which went forth to and fro until the waters were dried up

00:32.080 --> 00:33.680
from off the earth.

00:33.680 --> 00:37.240
Also he sent forth a dove from him to see if the waters were abated from off the face

00:37.240 --> 00:38.240
of the ground.

00:38.240 --> 00:40.520
But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot.

00:40.520 --> 00:44.400
She returned unto him unto the ark for the waters were on the face of the whole earth.

00:44.400 --> 00:49.360
And he put forth his hand and took her and pulled her in unto him into the ark.

00:49.360 --> 00:51.960
And he stayed yet other seven days.

00:51.960 --> 00:53.920
And again he sent forth the dove out of the ark.

00:54.320 --> 00:58.800
The dove came into him in the evening and lo and her mouth was an olive leaf plucked

00:58.800 --> 01:03.560
off so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

01:03.560 --> 01:07.800
And he stayed yet other seven days and sent forth the dove which returned not again unto

01:07.800 --> 01:08.800
him anymore.

01:08.800 --> 01:13.040
And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year and the first month, the first

01:13.040 --> 01:15.960
day of the month that the waters were dried up from off the earth.

01:15.960 --> 01:19.200
And Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked and behold the face of the ground was

01:19.200 --> 01:20.360
dry.

01:20.400 --> 01:24.080
And the second month on the seventh and twentieth day of the month was the earth dried.

01:24.080 --> 01:28.240
And God spake unto Noah saying, Go forth to the ark thou and thy wife, thy sons, thy

01:28.240 --> 01:29.920
sons' wives with thee.

01:29.920 --> 01:34.040
Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee of all flesh, both of fowl and

01:34.040 --> 01:37.960
of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, that they may breed

01:37.960 --> 01:41.440
abundantly in the earth and be fruitful and multiply upon the earth.

01:41.440 --> 01:46.360
And Noah went forth and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives with him, every beast,

01:46.360 --> 01:50.080
every creeping thing and every fowl and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth.

01:50.120 --> 01:52.720
After their kinds went forth out of the ark.

01:52.720 --> 01:56.640
And Noah built an altar unto the Lord and took up every clean beast and every clean

01:56.640 --> 02:00.440
fowl and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

02:00.440 --> 02:04.760
The Lord smelled the sweet savor and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse

02:04.760 --> 02:09.080
the ground anymore for man's sake, for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his

02:09.080 --> 02:10.080
youth.

02:10.080 --> 02:13.640
Neither will I again smite anymore every living thing as I have done.

02:13.640 --> 02:17.320
While the earth remaineth to seed time and harvest and cold and heat and summer and winter

02:17.320 --> 02:19.040
and day and night shall not cease.

02:19.240 --> 02:20.040
Let's pray.

02:20.040 --> 02:23.280
Father God, we thank you dear Lord for the King James Bible and we thank you for this

02:23.280 --> 02:26.400
wonderful church you've given us and we thank you for every precious soul in it dear Lord

02:26.400 --> 02:27.800
and we thank you for our pastor.

02:27.800 --> 02:30.840
Please bless him as he preaches your word unto us in Jesus name we pray, amen.

02:32.160 --> 02:32.760
Amen.

02:32.760 --> 02:36.000
Okay, we're continuing this evening with our Bible study, the book of Genesis.

02:36.000 --> 02:37.800
I'm going to do something a little different tonight.

02:37.800 --> 02:41.600
Of course, I am going to cover chapter 8, but I'm also going to get into chapter 9.

02:41.600 --> 02:46.520
Now, the reason for that is because I want to catch up from last week, but really when

02:46.520 --> 02:48.560
you read chapter 8, it's pretty self-explanatory.

02:49.200 --> 02:53.640
Noah and his family are getting off the ark and we do have some pretty important passages

02:53.640 --> 02:58.160
in chapter 8 that I'm going to address, but I am going to breeze over some of the information

02:58.160 --> 03:02.520
that's given and just kind of give you an overview of what exactly is taking place with

03:02.520 --> 03:04.760
Noah exiting the ark.

03:04.760 --> 03:08.960
First and foremost in verses 1 through 5, we do have God remembering Noah.

03:08.960 --> 03:12.600
Of course, at this point, he has drowned the entire world.

03:12.600 --> 03:16.760
Everyone is dead and Noah and his family are the only ones alive.

03:16.760 --> 03:17.760
God remembers Noah.

03:17.760 --> 03:19.560
Not to say that he forgot Noah.

03:19.560 --> 03:23.840
This is just simply saying that God is now going to move to act on Noah's behalf.

03:23.840 --> 03:29.920
The time of judgment has now ended and the time of a new beginning is beginning to start.

03:29.920 --> 03:36.800
He starts drying the earth by allowing the winds to move the water and slowly allow the

03:36.800 --> 03:39.480
land mass to come to the surface.

03:39.480 --> 03:41.760
The water slowly begins to go down.

03:41.760 --> 03:46.320
The ark finally stops moving in the mountains of Ararat.

03:46.320 --> 03:48.640
Then the land begins to appear.

03:48.640 --> 03:53.120
If you look at verse number 6, it says, and it came to pass at the end of 40 days that

03:53.120 --> 03:56.960
Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made.

03:56.960 --> 03:57.960
So what is Noah doing here?

03:57.960 --> 04:03.880
Of course, although he knows that it's pretty much the judgment is over, he's not necessarily

04:03.880 --> 04:07.920
hasty to just get out of the ark and then start a new life.

04:07.920 --> 04:13.800
He's obviously testing the conditions of the earth to see if they are suitable for living.

04:13.800 --> 04:18.880
The interesting thing here is that in verse 6 it says that at the end of 40 days he begins

04:18.880 --> 04:19.880
to do this.

04:19.880 --> 04:20.880
Now why is that significant?

04:20.880 --> 04:27.020
Well, in the Bible, the number 40 is often a number that signifies testing.

04:27.020 --> 04:30.400
We have that number appearing multiple times throughout the Word of God.

04:30.400 --> 04:34.060
You have 40 days of Moses being on Mount Sinai.

04:34.060 --> 04:38.560
You have 40 years of Israel wandering in the wilderness being tested.

04:38.560 --> 04:41.600
You have 40 days of Jesus being tempted in the wilderness.

04:41.600 --> 04:45.200
Of course, here after 40 days what happens?

04:45.200 --> 04:51.560
Noah begins to test the conditions of the earth to see if they are suitable for exiting

04:51.560 --> 04:54.200
the ark and starting his new life there.

04:54.200 --> 05:02.080
So he begins by waiting for the period, that 40 day period, in order to start doing that.

05:02.080 --> 05:03.080
What does he do?

05:03.080 --> 05:06.960
He sends forth a raven, but he also sends forth a dove.

05:06.960 --> 05:09.080
Now the raven here, why does he do that?

05:09.200 --> 05:12.760
Well, it's because of the fact that he's testing for death and carcasses.

05:12.760 --> 05:14.160
You say, how so?

05:14.160 --> 05:21.120
Well, a raven is a bird that essentially feeds on that which is dead, carcasses.

05:21.120 --> 05:26.120
The way that Noah can tell if the waters are coming down is if the carcasses are coming

05:26.120 --> 05:27.120
up.

05:27.120 --> 05:32.400
So if there is a place for the raven to rest his foot upon and begin eating the carcasses,

05:32.400 --> 05:37.240
it's kind of an indicator, okay, the water is starting to go down, the surfaces are starting

05:37.240 --> 05:40.440
to come up, bodies are essentially arising.

05:40.440 --> 05:43.000
And so that's indicated by the raven itself.

05:43.000 --> 05:48.040
So he sends forth the raven first, which is a scavenger bird so he can feed on carcasses

05:48.040 --> 05:52.640
and dead flesh that unfortunately is floating in the water.

05:52.640 --> 05:57.120
And so because of this, it does not need dry land to survive.

05:57.120 --> 06:00.940
It's somewhat of an indicator, like, okay, progress is being made, we're not fully ready

06:00.940 --> 06:06.880
yet to exit the ark, but because the raven doesn't return, it's obviously found sustenance.

06:06.880 --> 06:11.440
You know, landing upon carcasses and that which is dead in order to feed upon it says,

06:11.440 --> 06:17.280
and he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro until the waters were dried up

06:17.280 --> 06:18.920
from off the earth.

06:18.920 --> 06:22.440
And so the raven never returns to the ark.

06:22.440 --> 06:26.680
It flies back and forth and this likely means that there were still floating remains and

06:26.680 --> 06:29.440
debris where it could land and feed.

06:29.440 --> 06:34.080
The raven surviving outside indicates death is still present in the environment.

06:34.080 --> 06:38.560
In other words, the earth was not yet suitable for normal life.

06:38.560 --> 06:41.460
But then he also sends forth the dove, right?

06:41.460 --> 06:43.960
And the dove, what is he sending forth the dove for?

06:43.960 --> 06:49.220
To test for living vegetation, suitable areas for the dove to live in.

06:49.220 --> 06:54.080
So he sends forth that dove and obviously we know that the dove cannot survive on carcasses,

06:54.080 --> 06:55.080
okay?

06:55.080 --> 07:01.180
It needs dry land, it needs some form of vegetation, it requires a clean place to rest.

07:01.180 --> 07:05.180
So therefore when he sends forth the dove, it returns to him because the waters were

07:05.180 --> 07:11.060
on the face of the whole earth still and so there was no dry land yet suitable for life

07:11.060 --> 07:13.420
as indicated by the fact that the dove returned.

07:13.420 --> 07:17.900
However, he sends it forth again and then it does return but it returns with an olive

07:17.900 --> 07:18.900
leaf, okay?

07:18.900 --> 07:21.460
Now this is very significant because what does that mean?

07:21.460 --> 07:26.980
Well, it means that the water has lowered to the extent where vegetation has begun to

07:26.980 --> 07:28.380
grow again, okay?

07:28.380 --> 07:30.260
Which is very important.

07:30.260 --> 07:36.460
These are emerging from the waters and the earth is recovering from the flood judgment.

07:36.460 --> 07:41.040
So the olive leaf becomes somewhat of a symbol of the fact that, you know, God is starting

07:41.040 --> 07:42.040
something new.

07:42.040 --> 07:47.040
But even then, he's not exiting from the ark because again, the dove returns.

07:47.040 --> 07:51.060
If it was already suitable, it would have stayed out there and it would have been fine

07:51.060 --> 07:52.100
but that doesn't happen.

07:52.100 --> 07:57.840
So then he sends it forth again and at that point the dove does not return which means

07:57.840 --> 08:05.240
dry land now exists, vegetation is available, the bird can survive outside of the ark and

08:05.240 --> 08:08.760
so the earth is now habitable again.

08:08.760 --> 08:09.840
So what do we have here?

08:09.840 --> 08:16.000
We have a practical lesson that obviously Noah is not necessarily in a rush to get out

08:16.000 --> 08:17.000
of the ark.

08:17.000 --> 08:21.440
He's testing the water, so to speak, to make sure that everything is suitable for him to

08:21.440 --> 08:23.860
exit and then make his move.

08:23.860 --> 08:25.860
Now go to verse 15 if you would.

08:25.860 --> 08:27.620
Verse 15 says this,

08:27.620 --> 08:33.540
And God speaking to Noah, saying, Go forth of the ark, thou and thy wife and thy sons

08:33.540 --> 08:35.860
and thy sons' wives with thee.

08:35.860 --> 08:37.700
Now here we have two elements, right?

08:37.700 --> 08:43.700
Because Noah is obviously testing the conditions on a practical level but he's also waiting

08:43.700 --> 08:45.940
for the word of the Lord, right?

08:45.940 --> 08:51.360
He exits not only when he realizes on a practical level that the conditions are good for exiting

08:51.360 --> 08:54.340
but he's also awaiting the commandment of the Lord.

08:54.420 --> 08:56.620
This is kind of how we should live our lives, right?

08:56.620 --> 09:01.740
In other words, the way we make moves in life, the way we make decisions in life is first

09:01.740 --> 09:06.580
and foremost, you know, God expects us to exercise some form of wisdom, testing the

09:06.580 --> 09:08.300
conditions, right?

09:08.300 --> 09:13.180
Making sure things are suitable for, you know, whatever it may be that we're trying to do

09:13.180 --> 09:16.440
but in conjunction with the word of the Lord.

09:16.440 --> 09:20.220
Now if you don't know how to test conditions, then just go by the word of the Lord.

09:20.220 --> 09:21.220
Amen?

09:21.220 --> 09:25.580
Just go by the word of God and see what the Bible says, what it explicitly tells you to

09:25.580 --> 09:26.780
do.

09:26.780 --> 09:30.140
And so you can never go wrong with just obeying what the Bible says, right?

09:30.140 --> 09:34.660
But obviously there's instances where we want to make a decision but, you know, in the Bible

09:34.660 --> 09:37.180
it's not necessarily black and white.

09:37.180 --> 09:40.100
It's not necessarily distinctly clear what we should do.

09:40.100 --> 09:44.340
Well at that point, God wants us to just simply exercise wisdom.

09:44.340 --> 09:50.180
He wants us to make the right decision based upon the wisdom given to us either by experiences,

09:50.180 --> 09:55.580
by the experiences of others or by just simple guidelines and principles that the Bible lays

09:55.580 --> 09:56.580
out for us.

09:56.580 --> 09:57.580
You understand?

09:57.580 --> 10:03.060
And so here we have a good example of making decisions based off of both.

10:03.060 --> 10:07.420
We want to make sure that we know what the Bible says but, you know, also understand

10:07.420 --> 10:11.140
that we need to exercise wisdom and ask God for wisdom.

10:11.140 --> 10:16.140
You know, the Bible tells us, tells us if any of you lack wisdom, let them ask of God

10:16.140 --> 10:20.420
which give it to all men liberally and abradeth not, the Bible says.

10:20.420 --> 10:24.580
So obviously there's not going to be a verse in the Bible that says thou shalt do this

10:24.580 --> 10:26.180
this day, right?

10:26.180 --> 10:28.500
You know, this is the decision you have to make.

10:28.500 --> 10:30.300
This is what you have to do today.

10:30.300 --> 10:36.340
You know, the Bible provides guidelines, it provides principles and we're to exercise

10:36.340 --> 10:40.540
common sense and wisdom in order to make those decisions.

10:40.540 --> 10:41.980
So I like what Noah does here.

10:41.980 --> 10:46.740
He's obviously testing the conditions but in like manner, he's waiting for God to give

10:46.740 --> 10:48.180
him the green light.

10:48.180 --> 10:51.420
Now let me clarify something here real quick, okay?

10:51.420 --> 10:55.940
I'm not saying you have to wait for a voice from heaven to make a decision, right?

10:55.940 --> 10:59.580
Because you know, a lot of people out there, they're like, I feel like God's telling me,

10:59.580 --> 11:02.100
you know, in a dream or something like that.

11:02.100 --> 11:04.820
This is not that kind of church, okay?

11:04.820 --> 11:08.780
And you know, that's not, that's non-existent in Christianity.

11:08.780 --> 11:14.020
See that was a thing before in Bible times because of the fact that they did not have

11:14.020 --> 11:19.340
the entire revelation of God's word and so they had to go by visions.

11:19.340 --> 11:23.300
But let me just say this, the visions that people got from God in the Bible were very

11:23.300 --> 11:28.340
explicit and left no room for doubt that it was God who was the saint, right?

11:28.340 --> 11:31.420
You're like, well how do I know that I'm not getting that?

11:31.420 --> 11:35.420
Well because of the fact that we already have the revelation of God's word, we already have

11:36.420 --> 11:43.780
And here's a good way to just simply interpret that is that if you have a dream, if you have

11:43.780 --> 11:48.020
a vision and it coincides with the Bible, ditch the dream because the Bible already

11:48.020 --> 11:49.860
said it.

11:49.860 --> 11:53.980
But if you have a dream or a vision that contradicts what the Bible says, ditch the dream because

11:53.980 --> 11:55.260
the Bible is the final authority.

11:55.260 --> 11:56.620
So what am I saying?

11:56.620 --> 12:00.380
Well one is that if you're having a dream that coincides with the Bible, ignore your

12:00.380 --> 12:01.580
dream.

12:01.580 --> 12:04.900
But if you have a dream that coincides, that doesn't coincide with the Bible, you just

12:04.900 --> 12:07.340
had too many onions on your burger, right?

12:07.340 --> 12:09.860
You just had Taco Bell the previous night.

12:09.860 --> 12:12.460
And if you want some visions, right?

12:12.460 --> 12:16.580
Go ahead and get you some Taco Bell or whatever in your system and you will definitely have

12:16.580 --> 12:22.540
... your cogitations will be troubling you throughout the night, amen?

12:22.540 --> 12:24.300
Why do you need drugs when you got Taco Bell?

12:24.300 --> 12:25.300
I'm just kidding.

12:25.300 --> 12:26.500
You know what I mean?

12:26.500 --> 12:31.080
So the point that I'm making here is the fact that we need to make sure that we exercise

12:32.080 --> 12:35.840
sense but also like Noah does here, wait for the word of the Lord.

12:35.840 --> 12:37.760
God spake unto Noah and told him to get out of the ark.

12:37.760 --> 12:38.760
Verse 17 says,

12:38.760 --> 12:57.080
So obviously the implication here is that all animals survived on the ark during this

12:57.960 --> 13:03.640
time and now it's time to release them so they can reproduce and replenish the earth.

13:03.640 --> 13:04.640
Verse 18 says,

13:04.640 --> 13:20.080
Let me just say that Noah and his family probably stuck to the high heaven with all that livestock

13:20.080 --> 13:21.760
and animals in there, right?

13:21.760 --> 13:22.760
Verse 20 says,

13:22.760 --> 13:35.200
And of course verse 21 says that the Lord spelled that sweet savor and the Lord said

13:35.200 --> 13:36.200
in his heart,

13:36.200 --> 13:44.760
So the first thing that Noah does before really establishing himself in this new world, before

13:44.760 --> 13:48.040
constructing his house and getting his house in order, what does he do?

13:48.040 --> 13:49.920
He worships the Lord, right?

13:50.040 --> 13:56.240
He offers a burnt offering unto the Lord for the fact that he arrived safely, he was able

13:56.240 --> 13:59.600
to survive the flood and he's worshiping God because of it.

13:59.600 --> 14:00.800
And that pleases the Lord.

14:00.800 --> 14:03.460
It says that he smells that sweet savor.

14:03.460 --> 14:09.340
And obviously that is a picture of the Lord Jesus Christ who is the Lamb of God who should

14:09.340 --> 14:10.980
take away the sins of the world.

14:10.980 --> 14:15.360
He was that burnt offering, so to speak, and that sweet savor unto the Lord.

14:15.360 --> 14:17.880
And so when God smells this, what does he say?

14:17.880 --> 14:24.480
I will not again curse the ground anymore for man's sake, for the imagination of man's

14:24.480 --> 14:27.640
heart is evil from his youth.

14:27.640 --> 14:33.760
Neither will I again smite anymore, excuse me, anymore everything living as I have done.

14:33.760 --> 14:39.120
So the first thing that God says after he smells the sacrifice is that he commits to

14:39.120 --> 14:42.160
not cursing the ground anymore for man's sake.

14:42.160 --> 14:43.160
Why?

14:43.160 --> 14:46.640
Because he understands that at the end of the day he can cleanse the entire world.

14:46.640 --> 14:52.040
He can literally just destroy billions of people and even with Noah and his family,

14:52.040 --> 14:54.400
wicked people will still prevail in this world.

14:54.400 --> 14:55.400
Why?

14:55.400 --> 14:59.480
Because the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth.

14:59.480 --> 15:00.480
And how do we translate that?

15:00.480 --> 15:01.480
What does that mean?

15:01.480 --> 15:02.560
How do we interpret that?

15:02.560 --> 15:06.040
It means that at the end of the day our flesh is corruptible.

15:06.040 --> 15:11.680
And even in a perfect world where the conditions are great, you and your family are the last

15:11.680 --> 15:12.680
ones, guess what?

15:12.680 --> 15:14.480
You're going to corrupt this world still.

15:14.480 --> 15:15.480
Why?

15:15.480 --> 15:16.480
Because of our corruptible flesh.

15:17.320 --> 15:18.320
And we're sinners.

15:18.320 --> 15:22.560
And this is what God is stating here is that at the end of the day there is no physical

15:22.560 --> 15:29.220
cleansing that can be made to completely remove the wickedness of man from this world.

15:29.220 --> 15:30.220
What is needed?

15:30.220 --> 15:33.640
The cleansing blood of Jesus Christ.

15:33.640 --> 15:38.500
And so this is in conjunction with the sacrifice that's being made here.

15:38.500 --> 15:42.080
God is essentially saying that he's not going to flood the world because at the end of the

15:42.840 --> 15:47.720
Even with eight people surviving the flood, out of those eight, you're going to have an

15:47.720 --> 15:52.320
extremely wicked people come from them known as the Canaanites.

15:52.320 --> 15:56.060
And of course, even out of the other sons, there's going to be sinners.

15:56.060 --> 16:01.600
Even though they are righteous, they're still corruptible because of the flesh, because

16:01.600 --> 16:04.320
of the fact that they are sinful man.

16:04.320 --> 16:06.400
They are evil from their youth.

16:06.400 --> 16:09.480
And when it says evil from their youth, it's not necessarily saying that they are like

16:09.480 --> 16:11.160
workers of iniquity.

16:11.160 --> 16:15.680
It's just communicating the fact that man is sinful.

16:15.680 --> 16:20.760
Even though you have an innocent baby born into this world, that baby, as innocent as

16:20.760 --> 16:25.440
it is when it grows up, will be slain by the law, will commit sin, will do that which is

16:25.440 --> 16:29.820
displeasing in the eyes of God because of its corruptible flesh.

16:29.820 --> 16:36.560
And he says here, neither will I against smite anymore everything living as I have done.

16:36.560 --> 16:38.920
And what this means is that he's not going to flood the world.

16:38.920 --> 16:40.560
We're going to see this in chapter nine.

16:40.560 --> 16:44.320
He's not going to necessarily flood the world where he just destroys every living thing.

16:44.320 --> 16:48.880
Now we obviously know that he's going to baptize the world in fire in the end times.

16:48.880 --> 16:52.280
And when you read the book of Revelation, a lot of people die.

16:52.280 --> 16:57.440
But here's the thing is that as many people as we see die in end times, it still doesn't

16:57.440 --> 17:01.640
compare to the amount of people that died during the flood.

17:01.640 --> 17:07.400
And so he's not smiting every living thing in the end times as he did here in Genesis

17:07.400 --> 17:08.400
chapter seven.

17:08.720 --> 17:15.080
Verse 22 says, while the earth remaineth, see time and harvest and cold and heat and

17:15.080 --> 17:20.160
summer and winter and day and night shall not cease.

17:20.160 --> 17:21.160
Now what is this saying?

17:21.160 --> 17:27.920
Well, this is implying that the world has physically changed forever after the flood

17:27.920 --> 17:33.800
because the wording strongly suggests that the post-flood world operated a lot differently

17:33.800 --> 17:35.840
than the pre-flood world.

17:36.800 --> 17:41.120
According to this passage, it never really had seasonal cycles.

17:41.120 --> 17:42.120
Right.

17:42.120 --> 17:45.760
There was never summer, winter, harvest, spring.

17:45.760 --> 17:50.920
The climate appears to have been far more stable in the pre-flood world.

17:50.920 --> 17:55.840
And of course, as we know, there were longer lifespans in the pre-flood world.

17:55.840 --> 18:00.320
Lush vegetation obviously suggests a very different environment.

18:00.320 --> 18:05.880
So once the flood came and just destroyed everything, it actually kind of changed the

18:05.880 --> 18:09.720
face of the world, including the seasons and so forth.

18:09.720 --> 18:14.600
And so after the flood, God explicitly states that cold, heat, summer, and winter will now

18:14.600 --> 18:16.600
characterize life on earth.

18:16.600 --> 18:17.760
And make no mistake about it.

18:17.760 --> 18:20.720
It's going to continue like this forevermore.

18:20.720 --> 18:26.920
Because even when you read the book of Revelation, in the new heaven and the new earth, the seasons

18:26.920 --> 18:27.920
are still continuing.

18:27.920 --> 18:28.920
OK.

18:28.960 --> 18:31.640
Nowhere in the Bible does it say that they stop.

18:31.640 --> 18:34.800
And so this is something that extends far into eternity.

18:34.800 --> 18:39.760
This implies that the flood did more than just destroy life and animals.

18:39.760 --> 18:43.280
It fundamentally reshaped the planet's environmental systems.

18:43.280 --> 18:50.120
Obviously, atmospheric conditions changed, ocean distribution, land elevations.

18:50.120 --> 18:55.480
Anytime I travel, if I'm on an airplane or if I'm driving through particular states and

18:55.480 --> 18:57.800
you see these large mountains, right?

18:58.120 --> 19:00.200
You see these large hills, large mountains.

19:00.200 --> 19:03.000
I always think to myself, like, the flood made that.

19:03.000 --> 19:03.720
Right?

19:03.720 --> 19:09.400
When you look at these massive just mountains, and even by where I live, they're not massive,

19:09.400 --> 19:10.840
but they are large hills.

19:10.840 --> 19:15.160
I think to myself, like, the flood had a major part in that.

19:15.160 --> 19:20.680
These chasms throughout the world, obviously, the flood was responsible for much of that.

19:20.680 --> 19:27.240
So the land elevations, weather patterns, all of this was influenced by the flood.

19:27.240 --> 19:33.720
So from that point forward, the earth would operate according to a regular seasonal cycle

19:33.720 --> 19:38.440
that governs agriculture and, of course, just life on earth in general.

19:38.440 --> 19:40.520
Now, let's go to chapter 9.

19:40.520 --> 19:42.040
Chapter 9, if you would.

19:43.720 --> 19:44.920
Chapter 9.

19:44.920 --> 19:49.480
Now, you know, you ask yourself, so, pastor, you know, that's all good, you know?

19:49.480 --> 19:50.520
That's all great and everything.

19:50.520 --> 19:52.040
Really interesting, pastor.

19:52.040 --> 19:55.320
But, you know, like, so do you think that that's the ark over there, though?

19:55.320 --> 19:55.960
You know?

19:55.960 --> 20:01.960
That little, that image that Al-Maharraat right now, that people find and they say they

20:01.960 --> 20:04.760
found, you know, the ark or whatever?

20:04.760 --> 20:07.560
Well, it's my personal opinion that it's not, okay?

20:08.280 --> 20:12.840
And the reason why I don't think that is Noah's ark, no offense to Haik over here,

20:12.840 --> 20:18.680
because, you know, that's what they base their entire ethnicity on, is just like, oh, you know.

20:18.680 --> 20:22.120
First Christians, Noah's ark in Armenia and all that.

20:23.240 --> 20:24.280
But let me explain to you why.

20:24.280 --> 20:28.760
From a practical perspective, if you're getting off the ark and you're trying to start life,

20:28.760 --> 20:34.040
and, you know, you're trying to build homes, use wood for fire, before you start digging into,

20:34.600 --> 20:39.080
you know, whatever trees there are, you know, there's a great source of wood right next to you

20:39.080 --> 20:40.760
called the ark, right?

20:40.760 --> 20:45.400
So they're obviously probably using that or tearing that down, you know, just because it's

20:45.400 --> 20:51.160
common sense to just use that for building or for whatever it may be and just utilize that.

20:51.160 --> 20:54.600
But at the end of the day, let's say it was, it doesn't really mean anything, right?

20:54.600 --> 20:58.920
A lot of times today, people are obsessed with, well, we found the ark of the covenant.

20:58.920 --> 21:00.040
You know, well, let's just say you did.

21:00.040 --> 21:01.000
It doesn't mean anything.

21:02.120 --> 21:02.360
Okay.

21:03.000 --> 21:07.960
You know, oh, man, we found, you know, the shroud of Turin or something like that,

21:07.960 --> 21:11.320
which I don't even believe is the shroud that covered Jesus Christ.

21:12.120 --> 21:15.480
Because you look at the images, it's like, that's not my God right there.

21:15.480 --> 21:20.600
That's some European dude, you know, and, you know, he has long hair and it fits the

21:20.600 --> 21:23.400
Catholic description, but not the biblical description.

21:24.120 --> 21:26.280
But, you know, let's just say it was, it doesn't matter.

21:27.640 --> 21:28.920
It literally does not matter.

21:28.920 --> 21:34.200
God does not esteem those things as being anything viable according to spiritual,

21:34.200 --> 21:35.960
you know, within spiritual means.

21:36.440 --> 21:39.640
You know, the thing that matters the most is spiritual things, right?

21:39.640 --> 21:43.080
Me commendeth us not to God for neither if we eat, are we the better,

21:43.080 --> 21:45.000
neither if we eat, not are we the worse.

21:45.000 --> 21:49.240
Essentially saying that, you know what, sometimes people focus on these physical things so much

21:49.240 --> 21:51.400
as though they mean something spiritual, but they don't.

21:52.120 --> 21:57.240
And so very important to know if it is Noah's Ark and it's legitimate, cool,

21:57.240 --> 21:58.680
but doesn't really mean anything.

21:59.240 --> 22:00.840
You know, look at chapter nine, if you would.

22:02.040 --> 22:05.160
We're going to look at the commission and prohibitions that he starts giving in chapter

22:05.160 --> 22:10.120
nine verse one says, and God bless Noah and his sons and sent into them,

22:10.120 --> 22:13.640
be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth.

22:13.640 --> 22:16.200
So obviously God is blessing the womb at this point.

22:16.760 --> 22:17.080
Why?

22:17.080 --> 22:20.760
Well, because they need to start getting down to business and start replenishing the world.

22:20.760 --> 22:21.320
Right.

22:21.320 --> 22:23.000
I mean, it's eight of them.

22:23.000 --> 22:25.320
God is obviously going to multiply them.

22:25.320 --> 22:28.600
He wants them to replenish, start having babies.

22:28.600 --> 22:30.040
There's a lot of work to do here.

22:30.040 --> 22:30.520
Right.

22:30.520 --> 22:33.800
So he says, be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth.

22:33.800 --> 22:38.840
Verse two, and the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth

22:38.840 --> 22:42.360
and upon every foul the air, upon all that moved upon the earth

22:42.360 --> 22:45.400
and upon all the fishes of the sea into your hand are they delivered.

22:45.400 --> 22:51.560
So there's obviously some sort of division here of how animals viewed mankind as opposed

22:51.560 --> 22:53.480
to how they viewed them prior to the flood.

22:53.480 --> 22:58.040
Every moving thing that liveth, I want you to notice this shall be meat for you.

22:58.040 --> 22:58.680
Okay.

22:58.680 --> 23:01.160
I mentioned this before, but it's worth mentioning again.

23:02.040 --> 23:08.840
This is proof that, you know, even the unclean animals, according to the Mosaic standard,

23:09.480 --> 23:15.080
were permissible to eat because he says every living thing shall be meat for you.

23:15.720 --> 23:17.080
And this is God speaking this.

23:17.080 --> 23:20.360
He's saying, look, you know, if it can move, it can be eaten.

23:20.360 --> 23:20.680
Right.

23:21.320 --> 23:24.200
Now, you know, there's people today that still take this very serious.

23:25.560 --> 23:28.280
You know, we're talking about this, I think it was last week, you know,

23:29.560 --> 23:33.560
my Chinese sister-in-law, okay, I got to make that disclaimer.

23:34.280 --> 23:35.720
Less people think I'm racist or something.

23:35.720 --> 23:38.840
You know, my Chinese sister-in-law said that the part of the world that she's from,

23:38.840 --> 23:42.200
the part of China that she's from, I think it's called Dalian or something like that.

23:42.200 --> 23:43.000
Some Chinese name.

23:43.960 --> 23:46.760
She says that they have this philosophy that is just like,

23:46.760 --> 23:49.960
if the sun's hit in the back, it's good to eat, you know?

23:50.680 --> 23:53.960
So it's just like, as long as the sun hits it, it's good to go.

23:53.960 --> 23:56.520
So, you know, they still take this very serious.

23:56.520 --> 23:59.000
But at the end of the day, we may think, man, that's gross.

23:59.000 --> 24:02.600
But here's the thing, though, is that from the beginning, it was so, right?

24:03.480 --> 24:09.240
After the flood, God said, you can eat pretty much anything and nothing is off limits.

24:09.240 --> 24:14.680
Now, keep in mind is that animals were still categorized as being clean or unclean,

24:14.680 --> 24:20.280
but they weren't forbidden to be eaten until the Mosaic Law was instituted.

24:21.080 --> 24:24.200
Now, that's important to know because you have people today that think that we're still under

24:24.200 --> 24:30.600
that Mosaic Law as though the dietary rules that we see in the Old Testament still apply.

24:31.240 --> 24:35.240
What they fail to realize, or should I say what they just blatantly ignore,

24:35.880 --> 24:39.480
is the fact that the New Testament specifically says that those meats,

24:39.480 --> 24:43.000
drinks, divers, washings, and cardinal ordinances are no longer imposed upon us.

24:43.720 --> 24:49.960
Those things were done in order to symbolically represent spiritual truths in the New Testament.

24:49.960 --> 24:55.960
They were imposed upon the nation of Israel during a small window of time

24:55.960 --> 24:57.880
in order to accomplish that Old Covenant.

24:58.920 --> 25:02.280
And so that's important for us to understand, you know,

25:02.280 --> 25:07.560
I'm not for this, well, you can't eat pork, you can't eat shrimp, you can't eat whatever.

25:07.560 --> 25:11.080
According to the Bible, you know, it's good to go, right?

25:11.640 --> 25:17.000
And in fact, if you run into a religion or any segment of Christianity so-called

25:17.880 --> 25:21.960
that tells you to abstain from these things, according to 1 Timothy chapter 4,

25:21.960 --> 25:24.040
they're teaching a doctrine of devils.

25:25.400 --> 25:27.080
I mean, that's how serious it is, right?

25:27.720 --> 25:31.240
You know, people who say that you need to abstain,

25:31.240 --> 25:34.120
that they forbid to marry and command to abstain from meats,

25:34.120 --> 25:38.280
the Bible says they're teaching doctrines of devils because according to the Bible,

25:38.280 --> 25:46.120
every creature of God is good and nothing to be refused if it be received with Thanksgiving,

25:46.120 --> 25:49.880
for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

25:49.880 --> 25:51.800
Now, a lot of times people have taken that verse to say, like,

25:51.800 --> 25:55.640
that's why we got to pray for our food, you know, to make sure that, like,

25:55.640 --> 26:00.920
God blesses this quarter pound of cheese and I don't get all the bad stuff from it or whatever.

26:00.920 --> 26:04.920
But what it's simply saying is that, like, it's sanctified by the word of God,

26:04.920 --> 26:08.040
it's saying that, like, God is now sanctioned for it to be consumed.

26:08.040 --> 26:12.280
Okay? So when you have people saying, oh, you can't eat this, you can't eat that or whatever,

26:12.280 --> 26:18.440
because it's against the Bible, it's a complete lie, it's not true, and it's a doctrine of devils.

26:18.440 --> 26:22.200
And I have to remind you of that because 1 Timothy chapter 4 tells me

26:22.760 --> 26:25.960
that in order for me to be a good minister of the word of God,

26:25.960 --> 26:27.960
I need to make sure that I'm preaching that to you.

26:27.960 --> 26:29.800
Okay? So eat up.

26:29.800 --> 26:33.640
And of course, we have multiple examples of this in the New Testament,

26:33.640 --> 26:37.640
where, for example, Acts chapter 10, God comes to Peter.

26:38.840 --> 26:43.240
And obviously, you know, the spiritual application there is that he wants Peter to go out and preach

26:43.240 --> 26:50.680
the gospel to the Gentiles, but he uses this vision of a sheet knit at the four corners

26:50.680 --> 26:54.280
with every single animal that's clean and unclean on top of it.

26:54.280 --> 26:56.600
And he says what? Rise, kill, and eat.

26:57.320 --> 27:00.760
And then Peter is just like, not so, Lord, for nothing common or unclean

27:00.760 --> 27:04.280
has ever entered into my mouth. I don't eat shrimp. I don't eat pork or whatever.

27:04.920 --> 27:07.560
And God's like, he had to do it three times.

27:09.400 --> 27:13.480
And then finally, he like understood, like, oh, I guess I should obey God, you know what I mean?

27:13.480 --> 27:16.440
And he eats it. But then he realizes that the spiritual application

27:17.080 --> 27:20.200
is that God wants him to go on and reach the Cornelius.

27:20.760 --> 27:26.440
Cornelius is a Roman centurion. He is a Gentile, and he's very much open to the gospel.

27:27.000 --> 27:31.400
Now, people often will look at that explanation and say, oh, you're missing the point.

27:32.040 --> 27:35.560
The point is that Peter, God wanted Peter to reach out to the Gentiles.

27:35.560 --> 27:38.040
Yeah, but he uses a legitimate illustration, though.

27:39.080 --> 27:43.240
You know, why would he cause him to sin in order to teach him the spiritual truth?

27:43.240 --> 27:46.440
It feels a sin, right? It doesn't make any sense.

27:46.440 --> 27:48.360
It's like, oh, it's so sinful to eat all that.

27:48.360 --> 27:55.080
Oh, so you're trying to tell me that God is using this vision and he's causing Peter to sin

27:55.080 --> 27:58.520
in order to teach him obedience. It doesn't make any sense.

27:59.240 --> 28:03.960
He's using the illustration of eating unclean animals because according to the Jews,

28:03.960 --> 28:07.720
Gentiles were unclean. And in fact, we're still unclean to them, right?

28:09.560 --> 28:12.680
And so, you know, he's he's he's kind of viewing them as an unclean animal.

28:12.680 --> 28:16.920
And God is saying, well, God has cleansed and actually after chances, well, God has cleansed

28:16.920 --> 28:21.880
that called not out common or unclean. It doesn't mean that God has saved the Gentiles.

28:21.880 --> 28:25.240
He's just saying like they're sanctified, like they're set apart now.

28:25.880 --> 28:31.800
They are good to go. Like you can go out and consume the Gentiles, give them the gospel,

28:32.360 --> 28:36.440
preach to them kind of thing because, you know, they're receptive to the word of God.

28:37.000 --> 28:40.840
And so obviously, there's multiple examples in the New Testament that teaches this,

28:40.840 --> 28:46.440
but it starts off here in Genesis where he's saying that every living thing that

28:46.520 --> 28:51.640
shall be meat for you, even as the green herb, have I given you all things.

28:52.280 --> 28:56.760
So obviously, you know, people were, you know, eating a vegetarian diet as well.

28:56.760 --> 29:02.600
He just saying like you can also eat meat, like eat the berries, eat the fruits or whatever,

29:02.600 --> 29:07.560
you know, and eat the eat the dog too. He says in verse number four,

29:07.560 --> 29:11.640
but flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall you not eat.

29:12.280 --> 29:17.400
So he's saying, you know, you could pretty much eat any animal, just make sure there's no blood

29:17.400 --> 29:23.560
in the animal though, when you're eating it. So, you know, not don't eat anything raw with blood

29:23.560 --> 29:30.120
or, you know, in it, make sure it's drained out or whatever. And don't be a pagan, a heathen about it.

29:30.120 --> 29:37.560
And why is that? Why is he forbidding for man to eat flesh with blood? Because blood plays a very

29:38.280 --> 29:43.480
sacred role in life, right? It is the life of the flesh. And of course, you know, there is a

29:43.480 --> 29:51.240
symbolic representation here of the sanctity of the blood of Jesus Christ. And so he's saying,

29:51.240 --> 29:56.280
look, you can eat anything you want, just as every green herb, but you got to make sure that the

29:56.280 --> 30:01.480
blood is drained out and that you are consuming it and it doesn't have blood in it because obviously

30:01.480 --> 30:07.400
that is that is sinful to do. Okay, look at verse number five, it says, and surely your blood of your

30:07.400 --> 30:12.120
lives will I require at the hand of every priest will I require it. And at the hand of man, at the

30:12.120 --> 30:19.880
hand of every man's brother, will I require the life of man who so shedded man's blood by man

30:19.880 --> 30:25.400
shall his blood be shed for in the image of God made he man. Now this is important to note here

30:25.400 --> 30:32.840
because verse six is essentially showing us God sanctioning the death penalty, capital punishment

30:32.840 --> 30:39.880
for killing someone right murder. He's saying that if you shed man's blood by man shall your blood

30:39.880 --> 30:45.720
be shed. Now this isn't saying that murder just became wrong or something right. Like, oh man,

30:45.720 --> 30:49.640
now it's now it's bad or something. Because you think there's several you know, I'm kind of

30:49.640 --> 30:56.120
confused here because he's instituted the death penalty here in in Genesis chapter nine. But like

30:56.120 --> 31:02.600
the first sin that was basically committed after Adam and Eve was able arcane killing able. And

31:02.600 --> 31:08.440
then obviously Kane's descendant committed murder. He killed or he killed someone. So what's going

31:08.440 --> 31:11.480
on there because they didn't receive the death penalty. Well, you have to understand on a

31:11.480 --> 31:16.280
practical level, the death penalty couldn't necessarily be instituted right away. Because

31:16.280 --> 31:23.080
then like there'd be no people. You know, it's just Kane, right? He has to replenish the earth.

31:23.080 --> 31:27.960
Obviously, he received a mark. Obviously, God protected him. And obviously, he became a vagabond

31:28.520 --> 31:33.720
you know, in all the world. But you know, there had to be this replenishment in the world.

31:33.720 --> 31:40.760
And it's also showing us that what happens when the death penalty is not punished speedily,

31:40.760 --> 31:46.440
people begin to do even more wickedly. Because what happened when Kane was not punished? What

31:46.440 --> 31:51.480
happened when his descendants were not punished? We have a Genesis six problem where violence fills

31:51.480 --> 31:57.800
the world, right? Because obviously, execution of these crimes are not executed speedily. So this

31:57.800 --> 32:03.000
is God basically saying like now from here on out, we need to make sure you guys need to make sure

32:03.000 --> 32:08.040
that you're instituting the death penalty for those who shed blood. Now this is before the

32:08.040 --> 32:14.040
mosaic law being instituted. Because people you know, today, Christians today think like, oh,

32:14.040 --> 32:20.360
you can't be pro death penalty. That's wrong. We're New Testament Christians. But this, you know,

32:20.360 --> 32:26.280
the death penalty was instituted in Genesis way before the mosaic law. Okay. And it's just crazy

32:26.280 --> 32:31.320
to think that there's Christians out there that are not for the death penalty. Just insane. You

32:31.320 --> 32:36.280
know, it's just like everyone has should have an opportunity opportunity for what to kill again?

32:36.280 --> 32:40.840
What do you want from people? You know, there has to be consequences to actions. And to say,

32:41.480 --> 32:47.720
to weaponize the New Testament, to say that it's not right for Christians to, you know,

32:47.720 --> 32:52.200
institute the death penalty is just plain ignorance of the New Testament. Because you have

32:53.080 --> 32:59.480
Romans 13 clearly saying that God has sanctioned governments to put people to death for capital

32:59.480 --> 33:06.120
crimes. You know, it says that he does not bear the sword in vain, right? A sword is not for

33:06.120 --> 33:12.200
spanking. It's not for a slap in the wrist. It's the slice and dice, right? It's just pierce someone

33:12.200 --> 33:17.320
through and kill someone. And make no mistake about it. When the Bible says thou shall not kill,

33:17.480 --> 33:22.120
obviously the implication there when we compare it to the entirety of scripture,

33:22.120 --> 33:27.400
it's referring to murder. Because not all killing is wrong. Why? Because when you put someone to

33:27.400 --> 33:32.440
death for a capital crime, you're killing someone. But that's actually righteous in the eyes of God.

33:32.440 --> 33:38.920
Right? You know, self-defense isn't considered murder if you kill someone because they try to

33:38.920 --> 33:44.040
kill you. That's actually sanctioned in the Bible. And you know, that's not wrong. And so yeah,

33:44.680 --> 33:49.880
killing in general is wrong if it's murder, premeditated murder. But if you're defending

33:49.880 --> 33:54.200
someone, if someone's being put to death for a capital crime, that is actually justifiable in

33:54.200 --> 34:00.840
the eyes of God. Okay? No, killing is wrong or whatever. You're just ignorant of the New Testament.

34:00.840 --> 34:04.200
Romans 1 says that they which commit such things, listen to this, are worthy of death.

34:05.720 --> 34:12.040
Right? Yeah, but what would Jesus say? Let him die the death. How about that?

34:14.040 --> 34:17.720
I mean, what's the issue here? Yeah, but I mean, how many more scriptures do you need?

34:18.840 --> 34:24.920
How many? And here's the thing. The reason the New Testament doesn't reiterate what the same

34:24.920 --> 34:29.720
amount of volume of verses as the Old Testament did is because God expects for you to read the

34:29.720 --> 34:35.160
Old Testament already. Like, does he have to give you like all those commands again in the New

34:35.160 --> 34:40.520
Testament for you to get? Like, don't be lazy. Read the Old Testament. And if God repeals it in

34:40.520 --> 34:44.520
the New, he'll let you know. He'll give you a note to let you know, don't, you know, hey,

34:44.520 --> 34:52.280
this is done for. But if it's not, then continue at business as usual. Okay? You know, and for

34:52.280 --> 34:58.200
Christians not to be pro death penalty is just extremely unrighteous and wicked because it is a

34:58.200 --> 35:07.080
lack of love for justice. Capital punishments for capital crimes is people executing justice and God

35:07.080 --> 35:13.560
loves justice. People need to pay for their crimes. And so, you know, we have this all the

35:13.560 --> 35:19.560
way in the beginning. God had already instituted somewhat, you know, small government here to

35:20.440 --> 35:26.440
shed man's blood for shedding man's blood because they're made in the image of God.

35:26.440 --> 35:30.360
And so very important to note that there. Now you say then why, you know,

35:30.360 --> 35:35.560
why did he reiterate this during the Mosaic law? Well, because of the fact that once you have the

35:35.560 --> 35:41.240
Mosaic law, once the children of Israel, you know, they're delivered out of Egypt, they go to Mount

35:41.240 --> 35:49.160
Sinai. Now it's like a functioning government. So now like God has a people that he can rule over

35:49.160 --> 35:55.080
specifically as a nation. It's what we would commonly refer to as a theocracy where God is

35:55.080 --> 36:00.840
their king. Right. And now they can get more organized about this stuff. It's not like just

36:00.840 --> 36:05.880
a stoning taking place here. People kill, you know, it's like now they have judges.

36:05.880 --> 36:12.120
They can investigate a matter. They can inquire diligently. You understand? And they have these

36:12.120 --> 36:18.040
specific rules that they have to abide by if they want to or have to put someone to death.

36:18.680 --> 36:22.360
OK, for example, let me just give you this last point and we'll move on with this.

36:22.920 --> 36:27.960
You know, sodomy is a capital crime that's punishable by death according to the Bible.

36:27.960 --> 36:33.240
Every Christian should say amen and be in agreement with that. OK, if you believe the

36:33.240 --> 36:36.920
Bible, you call yourself a Christian because the Bible says so today if we still had that,

36:36.920 --> 36:43.000
like homos would we put the death like left and right? OK, if they're committing the act of

36:43.000 --> 36:47.800
sodomy and they were caught for it, then they would get put to death. Right. Now, here's the

36:47.800 --> 36:52.440
thing, though, is that prior to the Mosaic law, that wasn't really happening. So God was just

36:52.440 --> 36:57.080
taking matters into his own hands and just putting them to death. Because you have Genesis 19.

36:58.040 --> 37:04.360
So he just wipes out an entire city of homos, right, for committing that crime, just destroys

37:04.360 --> 37:10.280
them. I know, like a lot of we Christians like to just ignore Genesis 19 and you read Genesis 18,

37:10.280 --> 37:16.360
just skip to 20 or something like that. But 19 is there, though, OK, where God literally just

37:16.360 --> 37:22.680
rains down fire and brimstone upon a city who is guilty of the perverse act of sodomy

37:22.680 --> 37:27.720
and just does not let anybody live except for Lot. And Lot was not a sodomite. He just he's

37:27.720 --> 37:32.760
just like these guys who defend sodomites. Right. He's a he's a right. It says that he was a righteous

37:32.760 --> 37:39.560
man and not because, you know, he lived righteously because he was saved. He delivered just lot,

37:39.560 --> 37:43.720
the Bible says. And it doesn't mean like he delivered just him and just saying that Lot was

37:43.720 --> 37:48.120
a just man. He was a righteous man. But now that the mosaic law was instituted,

37:48.120 --> 37:55.480
now it's like, OK, now you guys do it. OK, like I rain fire and brimstone upon Sodom and Gomorrah.

37:55.480 --> 37:59.720
But now we have a functioning government. Here are the rules. This is what you have to do.

37:59.720 --> 38:03.640
Don't let it happen, because if you let it happen, if you let it go unfettered,

38:03.640 --> 38:07.720
you're going to have a Sodom and Gomorrah situation where people are being molested,

38:07.720 --> 38:12.840
they're being raped, children are being taken advantage of, you know, and so forth. And so

38:12.840 --> 38:17.000
don't let that happen. Don't let it get out of hand. Make sure you put them to death right away.

38:17.000 --> 38:22.280
And obviously they didn't listen. Right. Because then what do you have after that? Judges 19.

38:23.080 --> 38:29.000
You have literally a tribe in Israel full of homos. And you're trying to tell me that that's

38:29.000 --> 38:32.920
the first time they heard that they were committing that. Like they knew for a fact that these people

38:32.920 --> 38:39.000
were doing that. Right. They're just being lenient. So even though it is a law, just like today,

38:39.000 --> 38:44.680
there's a bunch of laws that the government doesn't impose punishments on. Right. You know,

38:44.680 --> 38:48.920
even though it was a law, they were being lenient with it. So they had another issue. They had

38:48.920 --> 38:54.280
literally a judges 19 that is the equivalent to what happened in Genesis 19. But then of course,

38:54.280 --> 38:59.080
God doesn't rain fire and brimstone upon them. He expects Israel to take care of the problem.

38:59.080 --> 39:05.080
Okay. Anyways, we're almost to June. So I just want to explain the death penalty here.

39:05.800 --> 39:09.640
God is saying, Hey, you need to make sure you don't let people who commit murder get away with it.

39:10.200 --> 39:14.600
Their blood needs to be shed. Look at verse seven, if you would. It says here, and you

39:14.600 --> 39:19.480
be fruitful and multiply and bring forth abundantly in the earth and multiply therein.

39:19.480 --> 39:22.840
It sounds like there's like a desperate need for repopulation because he's like reiterating

39:22.840 --> 39:29.160
this again. He's like, by the way, you know, go have babies. Verse eight says, and God spake

39:29.160 --> 39:35.160
into Noah and to his sons with him, saying, and I behold, I established my covenant with you

39:35.160 --> 39:40.360
and with your seed after you. He says, and with every living creature that is with you of the

39:40.360 --> 39:45.400
fowl, the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you for all that go out of the arc to every

39:45.400 --> 39:49.000
beast of the earth. And I will establish my covenant with you. Neither shall all flesh be

39:49.000 --> 39:55.800
cut off anymore by the waters of a flood. Neither shall there be there any more be a flood to destroy

39:55.800 --> 40:01.240
the earth. And so what does he do to essentially institute this covenant? He

40:02.040 --> 40:09.160
declares the rainbow to be right. That symbol that God would not destroy the world. Right.

40:09.160 --> 40:14.280
So it's a very beautiful picture. And, you know, we have the rainbow today, right, where when it

40:14.280 --> 40:20.920
rains, you know, take some time to admire that rainbow. It's not there on accident. Like anytime

40:20.920 --> 40:26.440
there's heavy rain in any area of the world and a rainbow appears, that's God's reminder.

40:27.160 --> 40:31.400
He's just like, hey, I'm not going to let it continue to rain and flood and destroy the world

40:31.400 --> 40:37.320
because I made a covenant with Noah. So that rainbow is like, you know, an ending of like a

40:37.320 --> 40:43.640
visible indicator of God's covenant with Noah. It's beautiful. Right. And he says there in verse

40:43.640 --> 40:48.120
12, and God said, this is the token of the covenant, which I make between me and you and every

40:48.120 --> 40:52.760
living creature that is with you for perpetual generations. I mean, to this generation, I do set

40:52.760 --> 40:59.160
my bow in the cloud and it shall be for a token, meaning a symbol of a covenant between me and the

40:59.160 --> 41:03.480
earth. And it shall come to pass when I bring a cloud over the earth, the bow shall be seen in the

41:03.480 --> 41:08.440
cloud. And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all

41:08.440 --> 41:13.320
flesh. And the water shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. So this seems to imply that

41:13.320 --> 41:17.320
sometimes it rains in certain parts of the world and God just wants it to continue to rain there.

41:17.960 --> 41:21.560
You know what I mean? Because it's such a wicked area or something like that. There's just, you

41:21.560 --> 41:25.720
know, floods it. But then he sees the rainbow and he's just like, I made a covenant. I'm not going

41:25.720 --> 41:30.200
to let it continue to flood. I'm not going to destroy the world. And obviously people die all

41:30.200 --> 41:35.320
over the world from floods, but not the entire world. Right. And so very important there. He

41:35.320 --> 41:41.080
says here in verse 16, and the bow shall be in the cloud. And I will look upon it that I may remember

41:41.080 --> 41:47.480
the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the

41:47.480 --> 41:51.240
earth. And God said into Noah, this is the token of the covenant, which I have established between

41:51.240 --> 41:58.360
me and all flesh that is upon the earth. So what is the rainbow significant of? It's the fact it's

41:58.360 --> 42:07.480
to indicate, it's to remind us of God's judgment, not of queerness, right? Not a faggotry and

42:07.480 --> 42:14.600
sodomy and perversion. And look, obviously, you know, I'm not interested in taking the rainbow back.

42:16.280 --> 42:20.440
Let's take the rainbow back. I'm not wearing no rainbow. Okay. It's just not going to happen,

42:21.320 --> 42:27.480
but I am going to recognize the bow in the sky as being a legitimate symbol of God's judgment

42:27.480 --> 42:32.840
and his mercy that when it rains, he will not destroy the world ever again. But it goes to

42:32.840 --> 42:38.360
show you that sodomites are super wicked and perverse and they are essentially mocking the

42:38.360 --> 42:45.160
things of God because they've taken that rainbow in order to represent perversion, right? And so

42:45.160 --> 42:49.240
they want to take that. And obviously people are like, oh, it's different colors. I don't care.

42:49.240 --> 42:54.520
Obviously they refer to it as a rainbow, but it's God who instituted that. And the irony there is

42:54.520 --> 43:02.440
that, you know, that rainbow is a token of judgment upon a violent world. And, you know, sometimes

43:02.440 --> 43:06.600
you'll see stuff on the internet was just like, oh, you know, it's interesting that sodomites do

43:06.600 --> 43:11.400
this even though it represents the fact that God destroyed the world for things that they did,

43:11.400 --> 43:16.680
but that's not necessarily 100% accurate. He did it because of violence, right? But it is a symbolic

43:16.680 --> 43:23.880
representation of just judgment period for sin. And so for them to try to like hijack that and

43:23.880 --> 43:29.240
use that to represent perversion, they are treasuring up wrath against the day of wrath.

43:29.960 --> 43:34.920
Okay. And so I'm not against you wearing a rainbow on your shirt or something like that.

43:35.640 --> 43:39.560
You know, I'm just saying like, that's not my thing. But, you know, if you want to do it,

43:39.560 --> 43:44.600
you're saying, you know, you put Genesis nine on there. I'm all for it. Amen. But, you know,

43:44.600 --> 43:48.440
they've obviously hijacked that just like they hijacked the word gay, just like they hijack

43:48.440 --> 43:54.200
everything. You know, they hijacked Disney. They hijacked their, they hijacked all of the movies

43:54.200 --> 44:00.680
or whatever. They pervert everything. Homo's destroy everything. You know, they just destroy

44:00.680 --> 44:06.840
health. They destroy young boys. They destroy children. They destroy Hollywood. Well, they're

44:06.840 --> 44:10.520
part of Hollywood actually. Hollywood's always been bad, but they just destroy everything that

44:10.520 --> 44:17.160
they touch. And so we have that God is instituting that boat to do so. So, you know, the next time

44:17.240 --> 44:24.920
it rains, take some time to admire the rainbow, right? Look at the rainbow, the double rainbow,

44:24.920 --> 44:30.040
you know, just admire that thing and let it remind you like, man, that's like, that's the token of the

44:30.040 --> 44:36.520
fact that like the whole world died at one point, like God was willing to flood the whole world.

44:36.520 --> 44:42.520
And that kind of like makes me think that when it rains, the world is still worthy of just

44:42.520 --> 44:48.360
completely dying. Like the world, like God is just like, I would wipe you guys out all again

44:48.360 --> 44:53.800
if I could, because the world is just so wicked. But because he's so faithful to his everlasting

44:53.800 --> 45:00.760
covenant with Noah, he won't, but he will burn the world one day. And so, you know, there is somewhat

45:00.760 --> 45:07.640
of a difference there. Look at verse 18. It says in the sons of Noah that went forth of the ark

45:08.440 --> 45:14.600
were Shem, Ham and Japheth. And Ham is the father of Canaan. These are the three sons of Noah. And

45:14.600 --> 45:21.000
of them was the whole earth overspread. And Noah began to be a husband man. And he planted a vineyard

45:21.000 --> 45:28.600
and he drank of the wine and was drunken and he was uncovered within his tent. So things go south

45:28.600 --> 45:35.880
real quick. Everything's growing, going great. He gets off the ark. He does the sacrifice. God makes

45:35.880 --> 45:41.640
a covenant with him, this beautiful bow. And then the dude gets drunk. Okay. When it says he becomes

45:41.640 --> 45:47.400
a husband, I mean, he basically is referring to the fact that he's growing grapes and obviously

45:47.400 --> 45:54.200
he's consuming alcohol. He's drinking fermented wine. Okay. Now let me make myself very clear is

45:54.200 --> 46:01.640
that when the Bible talks about wine, it is used interchangeably to describe both alcohol and

46:01.640 --> 46:07.880
non-alcoholic beverages. And the way we can tell which one is which is based upon the context.

46:08.680 --> 46:13.400
If someone is getting drunk, right? If they're being belligerent, if they're vomiting,

46:13.400 --> 46:16.920
if the Bible is speaking about it in a negative context, it's alcohol.

46:18.120 --> 46:24.280
If it's in a positive context, it's juice. Make no mistake about it. Wine in the Bible is also

46:24.280 --> 46:31.240
referring to juice because it comes from the vine. Right? And in fact, the Bible talks about the blood

46:31.240 --> 46:38.760
of the grapes is referring to the juice, the unfermented juice of grapes. Okay. But in this

46:38.760 --> 46:44.200
particular context, this is referring to alcohol. Okay. How do we know? Because he was drunken and

46:44.200 --> 46:51.000
he was uncovered. Now here's a good tip for you to understand and to learn if you ever want to know

46:51.000 --> 46:55.880
what God thinks about a particular subject in the Bible. It's called the law of first mention,

46:56.760 --> 46:59.240
which means if you want to know what God thinks about a particular topic,

46:59.880 --> 47:04.520
go study the first time that it's mentioned in the Bible. So even though he doesn't say

47:04.520 --> 47:10.440
Dao Sha Na or Dao Sha, just look for a story of where it first takes place. And that kind of

47:10.440 --> 47:17.640
gives you the overall picture of how God views that. I.e. we have alcohol. Right? So the first

47:17.640 --> 47:23.880
time that someone becomes a husband, man, or that it's mentioned, he gets drunk and he's naked. When

47:23.880 --> 47:29.960
he says that he was uncovered within his tent, it means that he's basically naked. Okay. Why?

47:29.960 --> 47:36.200
Because when you drink alcohol, your judgment is impaired. The more alcohol you drink, the less

47:36.200 --> 47:42.520
clothes you wear. Right? Oh, but he's not hurting anybody. Yeah. But here's the thing is that when

47:42.520 --> 47:50.280
you drink alcohol, you open yourself up to being hurt. Right? You're vulnerable to people taking

47:50.280 --> 47:53.480
advantage of you. And this is something that's consistent throughout the Bible. The Bible warns

47:53.480 --> 47:57.880
about this. And make no mistake about it. Drinking alcohol is a sin in the Bible.

47:59.160 --> 48:05.800
Don't be like these reformers out there, these dumb Calvinists, a bunch of winebibbers who think

48:05.800 --> 48:08.680
it's just great to drink a beer as they're studying the Bible or something like that.

48:10.280 --> 48:15.960
You know, it's just like, no, alcohol is okay to drink just in moderation. You don't know moderation.

48:17.480 --> 48:22.280
And it's impossible to drink alcohol and to say like, oh, you just, you can drink,

48:22.280 --> 48:27.880
you just can't get drunk. Doesn't exist. It's not a thing in the Bible. It's not a thing even today

48:28.680 --> 48:34.040
for anybody to drink alcohol to the point where they are tolerant of the alcohol. So they don't

48:34.040 --> 48:40.520
get drunk. They have to get drunk first. That's the way it works to build up a tolerance to alcohol

48:40.520 --> 48:45.720
to the point where you can drink a beer or wine or whatever it is, whiskey, and you don't get drunk.

48:45.720 --> 48:50.200
You have to initially get drunk, build up the tolerance, and then you don't get drunk. So you're

48:50.200 --> 48:54.520
trying to tell me you got to sin first before you stop sinning or something like that. It's retarded.

48:55.960 --> 49:02.360
Stupid, you know, and you see these Calvinists, these reformers online, justifying alcohol

49:02.360 --> 49:09.400
consumption with their big red nose, their fat alcoholic nose, twisting scripture with their

49:09.400 --> 49:14.840
cirrhosis of the liver, wicked. And it's just like, oh, you're just like the weaker brethren.

49:15.800 --> 49:19.960
You know, this is causing you to stumble. You don't drink alcohol because you're just the weaker

49:19.960 --> 49:24.680
brother. Okay, then with that in mind, then stop drinking alcohol because it's causing me to stumble.

49:24.680 --> 49:30.760
Can you do that? Because based upon the Bible, the Bible says that if you're causing me to stumble

49:30.760 --> 49:36.360
with that, then you should stop drinking. Right? You want to pervert the Bible, whatever. But what

49:36.360 --> 49:40.760
about the fact that the Bible literally says that if this is causing me to stumble, you should stop

49:40.760 --> 49:48.440
doing it. Can't do it because you're an alcoholic. That's why. I hate alcohol. It destroys people's

49:48.440 --> 49:54.680
lives. It kills people. You know, it killed a righteous man who was beloved of our church

49:54.680 --> 50:01.400
a year ago. I'm talking about a missionary, a soul winner. His baby, I don't remember how old she was

50:01.400 --> 50:07.400
at the time, but she was just a baby. He was survived by his wife and his child. He was

50:07.400 --> 50:13.960
literally working a second job to earn money to pay for other people's mission strips. Okay. And

50:13.960 --> 50:19.480
then what happened? He was killed by a drunk driver. Don't come trying to justify alcohol to me

50:20.200 --> 50:24.680
when the Bible not only clearly condemns it, we have enough evidence and circumstances in this

50:24.680 --> 50:30.920
world to point to the fact that only idiots drink alcohol. And, you know, and by the way,

50:30.920 --> 50:35.240
if you're drinking alcohol in our church, you know, you got a couple options, either sober up

50:35.240 --> 50:41.400
or get out or I can throw you out because the Bible says that, you know, a person who's

50:41.400 --> 50:46.440
unrepentant as a person who drinks alcohol in a church merits excommunication from the church.

50:47.320 --> 50:52.440
First Corinthians chapter five justifies throwing someone out of the church because they are a

50:52.440 --> 50:59.400
drunkard and that applies to smoking marijuana. That applies to heroin. That applies to meth. That

50:59.400 --> 51:04.600
applies to any kind of drug. If you are not sober in our church, you're getting thrown out and you

51:04.600 --> 51:09.960
don't want to repent of that. You're getting thrown out. Okay. But obviously, you know, we're not

51:09.960 --> 51:15.080
necessarily having a bunch of people here who like do cocaine, right? Probably the most common

51:15.080 --> 51:20.760
way that people, you know, are drunk is through alcohol. Obviously, the second one would be

51:20.760 --> 51:25.800
marijuana or something like that. The point being here is that the first mention of alcohol in the

51:25.800 --> 51:31.880
Bible is already negative. Bro gets drunk. He's naked in his tent. And look what happens. Verse 22,

51:31.880 --> 51:38.120
In Ham, the father of Canaan saw the nakedness of his father and told his two brethren without.

51:38.120 --> 51:43.160
And Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it upon both their shoulders and went backward and

51:43.160 --> 51:47.640
covered the nakedness of their father. And their faces were backward and they saw not their father's

51:47.640 --> 51:53.640
nakedness. And Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his younger son had done to him. So there's

51:53.640 --> 51:59.000
a lot of speculation as far as what this means. Like what is it that Ham did? And some people would

51:59.000 --> 52:03.640
say, well, he just looked upon his nakedness. And obviously, that's a valid interpretation because

52:03.640 --> 52:07.720
that's literally what it says, right? In verse 22, that he saw the nakedness of his father.

52:08.360 --> 52:15.240
But the only problem with that interpretation is Noah's response or his assessment of what

52:15.240 --> 52:20.600
his son Ham did, right? Because it says in verse 24 that he awoke from his wine and knew what his

52:20.600 --> 52:26.600
younger son had done unto him. So obviously, it leaves room for interpretation that Ham is just a

52:26.600 --> 52:34.840
stinking pervert who potentially committed sodomy of sorts, or he raped his father or whatever may

52:34.840 --> 52:44.440
have been. And I don't think that is a preposterous idea of an interpretation because Ham becomes the

52:44.440 --> 52:52.280
father of who? The Canaanites. Nor the Canaanites, a bunch of perverts responsible for sodomy,

52:52.280 --> 52:58.840
bestiality, incest, all manner of evil and wickedness. They're the Hibites, the Hibites,

52:58.840 --> 53:06.040
the Jebusites, all the Ibite brothers. And they're the ones who God says later on, like wipe them out

53:06.040 --> 53:13.720
because they're so wicked and evil, they make the land want to vomit them. So I think that

53:13.720 --> 53:21.160
interpretation is valid, that Ham is just a stinking pervert. He's some reprobate who essentially

53:22.120 --> 53:29.160
took advantage of his father. Now obviously, Ham gets cursed for this, but Noah messed up.

53:30.520 --> 53:36.840
He put himself in that situation by drinking alcohol, impairing his judgment, passing out,

53:36.840 --> 53:41.240
because that's basically what he's talking about, the fact that when he sleeps in his tent uncovered

53:41.240 --> 53:47.160
is referring to the fact that he's passed out. The Bible says in Habakkuk chapter 2 verse 15,

53:48.120 --> 53:53.960
Woe unto him that giveth his neighbor to drink, that putteth thy bottle to him. Now it doesn't

53:53.960 --> 53:59.800
finish there. It's obviously saying like, you should never give alcohol, first of all, to anybody,

53:59.800 --> 54:05.320
right? We obviously know that. But what the verse is saying here is that this person is giving his

54:05.320 --> 54:10.120
neighbor to drink with an underlying motive of taking advantage of it. Because it says, woe unto

54:10.120 --> 54:15.320
him that giveth his neighbor to drink, that putteth thy bottle to him, and maketh him drunk also.

54:15.320 --> 54:18.760
And I want you to notice this, that thou mayest look on their nakedness.

54:20.520 --> 54:27.480
And obviously, that's even common today, right? Where you have young people that go to parties.

54:27.480 --> 54:32.120
Women end up getting raped. Why? Because they drink alcohol, someone slips something into their

54:32.120 --> 54:37.480
bottle, into their glass, a date rape drug or something. They pass out, they get raped,

54:37.480 --> 54:42.360
they get taken advantage of. That happens all the time. And it's wicked, but guess what? That's

54:42.360 --> 54:49.240
what happens when you put yourself in that situation. Don't go to parties where there's

54:49.240 --> 54:54.520
alcohol and all manner of evil and wickedness, because wicked people thrive in those areas.

54:54.520 --> 54:59.080
You want to party? Come to the men's prayer night. Well, not the ladies, but the dudes can come to

54:59.800 --> 55:05.640
men's prayer night. We got pizza and soda, and you won't have a hangover.

55:06.520 --> 55:12.600
Okay? And no one will take advantage of you, you'll just take advantage of how much pizza there is.

55:15.080 --> 55:20.200
Oh, that doesn't sound fun. Oh yeah, getting raped sounds great. It's just way better, right?

55:20.600 --> 55:28.040
Waking up, not knowing exactly what happened to you. Folks, I like sobriety. I like a clear mind.

55:28.040 --> 55:32.360
I like to be able to, I like it when my cogitation don't trouble me.

55:32.600 --> 55:38.520
I like it when I can think clearly. And let me just say this is the Bible condemns alcohol consumption

55:38.520 --> 55:43.800
first and foremost, because drinking alcohol violates the command to be sober. How can you drink

55:43.800 --> 55:52.680
just a little bit of alcohol and be sober? It doesn't exist. Brother, be not drunk with wine

55:52.680 --> 55:58.600
when there's excess. It's just alcohol moderation. It says, but be filled with the spirit. The

55:59.000 --> 56:04.600
alternative is not like drinking moderation. Be not drunk with wine when there's excess,

56:04.600 --> 56:08.360
just drinking moderation. No, it says be filled with the spirit, not spirits.

56:11.000 --> 56:15.640
But look, the Bible warns about drinking alcohol first and foremost, because it violates the

56:15.640 --> 56:23.320
command to be sober, but also because of the fact that wicked people, rapists, molesters,

56:24.200 --> 56:26.280
use that as a tool to take advantage of you.

56:29.240 --> 56:34.600
Oh man, I'm just going out with my girlfriends. There's no guys around. You just never know.

56:35.400 --> 56:42.680
You just never know. There's wicked people out there. And so stay away from it. The Bible

56:42.680 --> 56:47.880
tells us in Proverbs 23 and verse 29, who hath woe? Now what is a woe? It's like a cursing.

56:48.840 --> 56:55.160
Who hath woe? Who hath sorrow? Who hath contentions? So he's saying, who's the person

56:55.160 --> 57:00.440
who just seems like their life is just cursed? Who's the person who's just always sad and

57:00.440 --> 57:06.760
depressed? Who's the person who has contentions, who just wants to fight everyone? Who has babbling?

57:08.920 --> 57:12.360
Who has wounds without a cause? How'd you get these wounds? I don't know what happened last

57:12.520 --> 57:17.720
night. I just started yelling at some guy and my nose is broken now.

57:19.720 --> 57:24.680
Who hath redness of eyes? Now I got redness of eyes because I have a hard time producing tears.

57:25.560 --> 57:29.640
So I use eye drops all the time. But this is referring to the redness of eyes that is a

57:29.640 --> 57:37.080
result of drinking alcohol. They that tarry long at the wine, they that go to seek mixed wine,

57:37.640 --> 57:44.840
look not thou upon the wine when it is red. Now folks, listen to me. There is no such thing as

57:44.840 --> 57:50.200
drinking alcohol in moderation because here it says don't even look at it. This is not a challenge

57:50.200 --> 57:55.720
for you to drink alcohol with your eyes closed. It's just like, well, you're just not supposed to

57:55.720 --> 58:00.520
look at it, so I'm just going to keep my eyes closed. If you get drunken when I tip the glass

58:00.520 --> 58:05.320
over, it's not my fault. This is saying don't even look at it. You know what that means? Throw

58:05.320 --> 58:12.360
away all of your alcohol in your house. Oh, you don't understand. I got this vintage wine.

58:13.240 --> 58:22.920
It's so old. Trash it. Break it. Don't give it to some wino. Dump it in the sink. Now I'm not

58:22.920 --> 58:29.400
telling you if your dad has this or whatever, if you want to be a Jerob Bale, I'm all for it or

58:29.400 --> 58:35.720
whatever. But if you're the owner of this wine and alcohol, there should be no alcohol in your

58:35.720 --> 58:44.760
household. Zero alcohol in your household. No beer. And I'm not even for having fake alcohol.

58:45.480 --> 58:49.960
They have these fake beers or something like that. It's just like, oh, man, I just want beer so bad,

58:49.960 --> 58:55.480
but I just don't want to drink alcohol. Just drink soda if you want. Get rid of all the alcohol.

58:56.120 --> 59:00.840
Get rid of the rubbing alcohol. No, I'm just kidding. Get rid of it. Don't even look at it.

59:00.840 --> 59:05.080
So obviously God wants us to have a distance between us and alcohol to the point where he

59:05.080 --> 59:09.800
says don't even look at it when it ferments. Look not thou upon the wine when it is red,

59:09.800 --> 59:13.720
when it giveth its color in the cup, when it moveth itself at right. Why? Because at the last

59:13.720 --> 59:20.440
it biteth like a serpent. Oh, wine is just such a blessing. Really, it's compared to a serpent.

59:20.440 --> 59:27.000
It's compared to Satan. Give me an example where God compares wine, alcoholic wine,

59:27.000 --> 59:32.760
to something good. Here it says it's like a serpent. Stingeth like an adder, which is a

59:32.760 --> 59:37.480
venomous serpent. Thine eyes, what's the result of it? Shall behold strange women.

59:38.440 --> 59:45.080
This is how bastard children are birthed. And thine heart shall utter perverse things. Why?

59:45.080 --> 59:50.920
Because alcohol emboldens you to say things that you wouldn't typically say. This is why guys,

59:50.920 --> 59:53.720
you know, they get drunk and then they want to fight everyone because they think they can.

59:55.800 --> 01:00:00.040
It loosens their tongue, right? Well, that's why I drink because I just need a little more

01:00:00.040 --> 01:00:01.160
boldness. Be filled with the spirit.

01:00:04.360 --> 01:00:09.560
Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea or as he that lieth upon the top

01:00:09.560 --> 01:00:14.760
of a mast. They have stricken me, thou shalt say, and I was not sick. They have beaten me and I

01:00:14.760 --> 01:00:19.960
felt it not. In other words, he wakes up and he's just all bloodied and bruised and he's just like,

01:00:20.760 --> 01:00:25.480
what happened last night? Oh man, that was a great New Year's Eve party.

01:00:26.520 --> 01:00:31.000
You know, the only hangover I got from New Year's Eve was just too much sugar.

01:00:31.000 --> 01:00:34.040
Okay. I know that's foreign to a lot of people. I get headaches when I wake up,

01:00:34.040 --> 01:00:41.320
when I have too much sugar the night before. He says, I felt it not. When shall I awake?

01:00:41.320 --> 01:00:46.520
I will seek it yet again. So this shows you the stupidity of the alcoholic person.

01:00:48.440 --> 01:00:53.800
His nose is broken, he's bloodied, he woke up with some ugly chick next to him.

01:00:55.800 --> 01:00:57.720
He's like, what the heck did I just do?

01:00:59.880 --> 01:01:05.160
You know, and then he's just like, oh man, I just, I don't remember anything, you know,

01:01:05.160 --> 01:01:08.920
and then he sees the bottle and he's like, oh, and he goes after the bottle again.

01:01:09.640 --> 01:01:13.400
It's like, it's like alcoholics when they, when they wake up with a hangover, they think they're

01:01:13.400 --> 01:01:18.360
like, oh man, I just, and then the people tell them like, oh here, just drink a beer. It'll help the,

01:01:18.360 --> 01:01:22.440
it'll help the, the hangover or something like that. It's like the stupidest thing to do.

01:01:22.440 --> 01:01:27.320
You're just dehydrating yourself even more. I think that's probably why I get hangovers for

01:01:27.320 --> 01:01:32.680
from sugars because I've just dehydrated myself or something. But it's saying here, like the person

01:01:33.240 --> 01:01:39.240
who wakes up from a hangover, he's bloodied, he's bruised, he's been robbed, he fornicated,

01:01:40.280 --> 01:01:45.080
he, he or she has been raped, right? They just destroy the iron. They're just like,

01:01:45.640 --> 01:01:51.000
let's do it again next Friday. Folks, alcohol would destroy your life.

01:01:53.640 --> 01:02:01.640
Don't drink beer, don't drink wine, don't drink whiskey, just stay away from it all together.

01:02:02.840 --> 01:02:07.240
Whatever joy or happiness you think it'll bring to you, it's a complete lie. It's deception. It's,

01:02:07.240 --> 01:02:11.640
it's an adder that will assure your life. And guess what? Let's say none of that will happen to you.

01:02:11.640 --> 01:02:16.520
Guess what? You're just destroying your body. You end up dying of cirrhosis of the liver.

01:02:19.000 --> 01:02:20.520
Anyways, look at verse 25.

01:02:23.000 --> 01:02:30.040
And this guy, I mean, Noah got raped by his son, right? Because he was drunk. He says, and he said,

01:02:30.040 --> 01:02:37.160
cursed be Canaan, a servant of servants, shall he be unto his brethren. And so obviously, Ham is

01:02:37.160 --> 01:02:43.080
essentially the father of the Canaanite nation. And later on, you know, you'll see that they're

01:02:43.080 --> 01:02:49.320
just known for their extreme moral corruption. And it says that he's going to be a servant of,

01:02:49.320 --> 01:02:53.400
he's going to be their servant, right? This ends up happening because the Gibeonites,

01:02:54.280 --> 01:03:00.760
who are a Canaanite people become servants in Israel. So a lot of this is fulfilled later on.

01:03:01.400 --> 01:03:05.800
I'm going to skip a lot of stuff here because I'm completely out of time. Look at verse 26.

01:03:06.680 --> 01:03:11.160
And he said, blessed be the Lord, God of Shem and Canaan shall be a servant. God shall enlarge

01:03:11.160 --> 01:03:15.240
Japheth. Of course he does so. And he shall dwell in the tents of Shem, meaning that he's going to

01:03:15.240 --> 01:03:21.960
receive the blessings of Shem and Canaan shall be his servant. And Noah lived after the flood 350

01:03:21.960 --> 01:03:28.600
years and all the days of Noah were 950 years and he died. So, you know, what can we learn from Noah

01:03:28.600 --> 01:03:32.760
and the flood? Well, we can learn that, you know, just because we have a great victory,

01:03:32.760 --> 01:03:37.560
don't let your guard down. You know, I know Noah, you're stressed. I know you're going through a

01:03:37.560 --> 01:03:44.120
hard time. Everything died, you know, but now's not the time to be drinking fermented wine. Never.

01:03:44.120 --> 01:03:48.600
It's never a time. You know, you're putting your guard down and then, you know, you end up getting

01:03:48.600 --> 01:03:54.440
taken advantage of. And now, like everyone reads that story forever. You know, you became a byword

01:03:54.440 --> 01:03:59.160
and a proverb, but it's a good byword and a proper for us because it helps us to recognize

01:03:59.160 --> 01:04:06.120
to stay away from alcohol. It'll destroy your life. It'll destroy your children's lives.

01:04:06.120 --> 01:04:11.240
You know, if you want a little, want a little fun, then, you know, drink some sparkling cider.

01:04:12.440 --> 01:04:17.080
Okay. Let's pray. Father, we thank you so much for your word and thank you for these examples that

01:04:17.080 --> 01:04:22.360
we have in the Bible. Help us as your people to recognize that when it rains and we see the

01:04:22.360 --> 01:04:26.440
bow, that that is the covenant that you've made with Noah. We thank you for the mercy that you've

01:04:26.440 --> 01:04:31.400
extended to this world and to this earth each time that happens. We're thankful that you've been

01:04:31.400 --> 01:04:37.240
gracious to us, Lord, though this world deserves to be flooded again because of all its wickedness,

01:04:37.240 --> 01:04:43.880
Lord. You are not slack concerning your promises, but you're just long suffering towards this world

01:04:43.880 --> 01:04:47.560
because you don't want people to perish. You want people to come to repentance. And may that bow

01:04:47.560 --> 01:04:53.240
remind us of it when we see it and help us as your people also to recognize the wickedness of alcohol

01:04:53.240 --> 01:04:57.240
and how much it destroys people's lives. And I pray that you bless us as we go on our way in

01:04:57.240 --> 01:04:59.880
Jesus name. We pray. Amen.

01:05:09.400 --> 01:05:10.840
All right, we have one last song.
