00:00.000 --> 00:02.000
The Bible reads,

00:30.000 --> 00:32.000
The Bible reads,

01:00.000 --> 01:02.000
The Bible reads,

01:30.000 --> 01:32.000
The Bible reads,

02:00.000 --> 02:02.000
The Bible reads,

02:30.000 --> 02:32.000
The Bible reads,

03:00.000 --> 03:02.000
The Bible reads,

03:30.000 --> 03:32.000
The Bible reads,

04:00.000 --> 04:02.000
The Bible reads,

04:31.000 --> 04:33.000
The Bible reads,

04:33.000 --> 04:35.000
The Bible reads,

04:35.000 --> 04:37.000
The Bible reads,

04:37.000 --> 04:39.000
The Bible reads,

04:39.000 --> 04:41.000
The Bible reads,

04:41.000 --> 04:43.000
The Bible reads,

04:43.000 --> 04:45.000
The Bible reads,

04:45.000 --> 04:47.000
The Bible reads,

04:47.000 --> 04:49.000
The Bible reads,

04:49.000 --> 04:51.000
The Bible reads,

04:51.000 --> 04:53.000
The Bible reads,

04:53.000 --> 04:55.000
The Bible reads,

04:55.000 --> 04:57.000
The Bible reads,

04:57.000 --> 04:59.000
The Bible reads,

04:59.000 --> 05:01.000
The Bible reads,

05:01.000 --> 05:03.000
The Bible reads,

05:03.000 --> 05:05.000
The Bible reads,

05:05.000 --> 05:07.000
The Bible reads,

05:07.000 --> 05:09.000
The Bible reads,

05:09.000 --> 05:11.000
The Bible reads,

05:11.000 --> 05:13.000
The Bible reads,

05:13.000 --> 05:15.000
The Bible reads,

05:15.000 --> 05:17.000
The Bible reads,

05:17.000 --> 05:19.000
The Bible reads,

05:19.000 --> 05:21.000
The Bible reads,

05:21.000 --> 05:23.000
The Bible reads,

05:23.000 --> 05:25.000
The Bible reads,

05:25.000 --> 05:27.000
The Bible reads,

05:27.000 --> 05:29.000
What I've preached unto you,

05:29.000 --> 05:31.000
Unless you have believed in vain.

05:31.000 --> 05:35.000
The implication here is that we have to believe the right things

05:35.000 --> 05:37.000
In order to be saved, right?

05:37.000 --> 05:39.000
The key word there is believe,

05:39.000 --> 05:42.000
Not works, not obedience to his commands,

05:42.000 --> 05:44.000
Not our moral righteousness.

05:44.000 --> 05:48.000
The Bible says that salvation comes by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.

05:48.000 --> 05:51.000
That's a phrase you hear consistently throughout the New Testament.

05:51.000 --> 05:55.000
And in fact, the entire book of John emphasizes the importance

05:55.000 --> 05:57.000
Of believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.

05:57.000 --> 05:59.000
The most famous verse in the Bible, John 3.16,

05:59.000 --> 06:01.000
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son,

06:01.000 --> 06:03.000
That whosoever believeth in him

06:03.000 --> 06:05.000
Should not perish but have everlasting life.

06:05.000 --> 06:08.000
And it's no coincidence that it's the most famous verse in the Bible

06:08.000 --> 06:11.000
That even unsafe people, people who are not Christian know about,

06:11.000 --> 06:14.000
Because God wants them to know that that's all you have to do to be saved,

06:14.000 --> 06:15.000
Is believe, okay?

06:15.000 --> 06:18.000
And obviously we know that believe is synonymous with trust.

06:18.000 --> 06:22.000
It's basically placing your faith in Jesus Christ.

06:22.000 --> 06:25.000
It doesn't mean that you believe that you just believe that he exists.

06:25.000 --> 06:27.000
Most people already do.

06:27.000 --> 06:30.000
When it says believe, it means that you're trusting that his death and resurrection,

06:30.000 --> 06:33.000
Listen to this, is sufficient to save you.

06:33.000 --> 06:35.000
It means you're no longer believing in yourself,

06:35.000 --> 06:37.000
Trusting in yourself for salvation.

06:37.000 --> 06:42.000
You're placing your dependence, your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

06:42.000 --> 06:45.000
And he says here that this is the gospel, okay?

06:45.000 --> 06:46.000
What is the gospel?

06:46.000 --> 06:48.000
Gospel means simply good news.

06:49.000 --> 06:52.000
And the good news is this, is that the word of God was made flesh.

06:52.000 --> 06:53.000
He dwelt among us.

06:53.000 --> 06:55.000
He died and he resurrected the third day.

06:55.000 --> 07:00.000
And all this was done to justify us in the eyes of God, okay?

07:00.000 --> 07:04.000
But he says here that if you don't believe that and you claim to be a Christian,

07:04.000 --> 07:06.000
You don't believe that and you claim to be saved,

07:06.000 --> 07:07.000
Then guess what?

07:07.000 --> 07:10.000
You believed in vain, meaning it's an empty belief.

07:10.000 --> 07:14.000
And quite frankly, this is something that people don't understand a whole lot.

07:14.000 --> 07:17.000
They think to themselves, well, how can you just believe?

07:17.000 --> 07:20.000
And you know, I know people that claim to believe, they claim to be a Christian,

07:20.000 --> 07:22.000
But then later on became an atheist.

07:22.000 --> 07:24.000
Later on they became a Mormon.

07:24.000 --> 07:29.000
Later on they became, you know, part of Islam or whatever false religion is out there.

07:29.000 --> 07:32.000
You know, it sounds to me like they lost their salvation.

07:32.000 --> 07:34.000
No, actually, according to the biblical prescription,

07:34.000 --> 07:37.000
They actually just believed in vain, meaning they had an empty belief.

07:37.000 --> 07:40.000
They didn't truly believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

07:40.000 --> 07:42.000
Yeah, they might have professed it with their mouth,

07:42.000 --> 07:46.000
But the Bible tells us that they have to believe in their heart, the Lord Jesus, right?

07:46.000 --> 07:49.000
It's something they have to believe in their heart, confess with their mouth,

07:49.000 --> 07:51.000
And if it's only the confession, guess what?

07:51.000 --> 07:53.000
It means that they're not saved.

07:53.000 --> 07:54.000
Okay?

07:54.000 --> 07:57.000
And the Apostle Paul here is addressing the church at Corinth,

07:57.000 --> 08:01.000
And he's saying, hey, there's a possibility that you might have believed in vain.

08:01.000 --> 08:02.000
Why is that?

08:02.000 --> 08:03.000
Well, as we're going to see here,

08:03.000 --> 08:09.000
The members at the church at Corinth were questioning whether there was a resurrection.

08:09.000 --> 08:12.000
Now, a lot of times today, people will say, well, that's just the difference of opinion.

08:12.000 --> 08:15.000
You know, that's your interpretation.

08:15.000 --> 08:16.000
It doesn't mean that someone's not saved.

08:16.000 --> 08:19.000
Well, according to the chapter, it means that they're not saved.

08:19.000 --> 08:20.000
It means that they believed in vain.

08:20.000 --> 08:22.000
This is what the Apostle Paul is saying.

08:22.000 --> 08:23.000
You might have believed in vain.

08:23.000 --> 08:26.000
If you're at the church at Corinth, you're listening to Bible preaching,

08:26.000 --> 08:30.000
You're participating in the services, you claim to believe on God,

08:30.000 --> 08:32.000
But you don't believe that there's a resurrection,

08:32.000 --> 08:37.000
You might have believed in vain, meaning that you weren't really saved to begin with.

08:37.000 --> 08:38.000
That's what it's stating there.

08:38.000 --> 08:42.000
Why? Because the resurrection is closely tied to our salvation.

08:42.000 --> 08:43.000
Okay?

08:43.000 --> 08:45.000
That's what it goes on to say in verse two,

08:45.000 --> 08:48.000
By which also you are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached unto you,

08:48.000 --> 08:49.000
Unless you believe in vain,

08:49.000 --> 08:52.000
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received,

08:52.000 --> 08:56.000
How that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures,

08:56.000 --> 09:02.000
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

09:02.000 --> 09:05.000
Herein we find the definition of the gospel,

09:05.000 --> 09:09.000
Which is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

09:09.000 --> 09:12.000
And the Bible's saying here that we have to believe on that.

09:12.000 --> 09:14.000
Now notice that no works are involved here.

09:14.000 --> 09:17.000
Notice that he doesn't say you have to do good works,

09:17.000 --> 09:20.000
You have to be in church, I'm thankful you're in church.

09:20.000 --> 09:23.000
You know, you got to be in church, you got to be baptized,

09:23.000 --> 09:25.000
You have to keep God's commandments.

09:25.000 --> 09:29.000
No, actually salvation is solely based upon the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross,

09:29.000 --> 09:32.000
And his glorious resurrection.

09:32.000 --> 09:33.000
It's all based upon him.

09:33.000 --> 09:34.000
So what do we see here?

09:34.000 --> 09:39.000
We see that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is closely tied to our salvation.

09:39.000 --> 09:41.000
It is knit with our salvation.

09:41.000 --> 09:43.000
You have to believe it in order to be saved.

09:43.000 --> 09:46.000
The Bible tells us in Romans chapter 10,

09:46.000 --> 09:49.000
And verse 9, that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,

09:49.000 --> 09:51.000
And believe in thine heart, listen to this,

09:51.000 --> 09:55.000
That God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

09:55.000 --> 09:57.000
And again, what does that say in Romans chapter 4?

09:57.000 --> 09:59.000
It says that he was delivered from our offenses,

09:59.000 --> 10:02.000
And raised again for our justification.

10:02.000 --> 10:09.000
So we see here that the doctrine of the resurrection is closely tied to our salvation.

10:09.000 --> 10:14.000
The second thing I want you to notice here is that it's a bodily resurrection.

10:14.000 --> 10:16.000
Now that's important.

10:16.000 --> 10:20.000
Meaning that we not only have to believe that Jesus Christ rose from the grave,

10:20.000 --> 10:23.000
We have to believe that his physical body actually came out of the grave.

10:23.000 --> 10:28.000
Not some ghost, not some spirit, not some inanimate object.

10:28.000 --> 10:31.000
Jesus Christ physically came out of the grave.

10:31.000 --> 10:33.000
He came out of the grave.

10:33.000 --> 10:35.000
That's a bodily resurrection.

10:35.000 --> 10:36.000
That is what the Bible teaches.

10:36.000 --> 10:39.000
And you say to yourself, well, you know, what's the big deal with that?

10:39.000 --> 10:40.000
I mean, doesn't everyone believe that?

10:40.000 --> 10:42.000
Well, no, there's something called the Jehovah's Witnesses.

10:42.000 --> 10:45.000
They don't believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ.

10:45.000 --> 10:48.000
They believe that he resurrected in spirit only.

10:48.000 --> 10:49.000
And guess what?

10:49.000 --> 10:52.000
That is a denial of a foundational doctrine of the Bible,

10:52.000 --> 10:54.000
Which is the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ.

10:54.000 --> 10:57.000
And let me just say this is that obviously when we believe on Jesus,

10:57.000 --> 10:59.000
We obtain salvation.

10:59.000 --> 11:02.000
Our soul, our spirit is justified in the eyes of God.

11:02.000 --> 11:06.000
But with that comes the promise of us resurrecting from the grave as well.

11:06.000 --> 11:10.000
Meaning that there will be a day when you and I die,

11:10.000 --> 11:12.000
We will be buried in the grave.

11:12.000 --> 11:14.000
Our soul, our spirit will go to heaven.

11:14.000 --> 11:18.000
And then in the future, when the rapture takes place,

11:18.000 --> 11:22.000
The second coming of Christ, we will bodily come out of the grave.

11:22.000 --> 11:24.000
Our bodies will resurrect from the grave.

11:24.000 --> 11:26.000
That is closely tied to our salvation as well.

11:26.000 --> 11:28.000
And we'll talk about that in just a bit.

11:28.000 --> 11:31.000
The point being here is that it is a bodily resurrection.

11:31.000 --> 11:35.000
And you know, the Bible tells us when Jesus Christ resurrected from the grave,

11:35.000 --> 11:39.000
He told his disciples, you know, feel me, right?

11:39.000 --> 11:44.000
For spirit hath not flesh and bone as ye see me to have.

11:44.000 --> 11:48.000
And I've quoted that to Jehovah's Witnesses while I'm out soul winning and evangelizing.

11:48.000 --> 11:49.000
And here's what they say.

11:49.000 --> 11:52.000
That's a good point. I really thought about that.

11:52.000 --> 11:56.000
Yeah, you know, it's in the Bible though.

11:56.000 --> 11:59.000
There's no circumventing passages of scripture that literally say that

11:59.000 --> 12:01.000
Jesus Christ physically rose from the grave.

12:01.000 --> 12:05.000
He went to Thomas and he said, feel the prince in my hands and on my side.

12:05.000 --> 12:07.000
What is he saying? I'm physically here.

12:07.000 --> 12:09.000
Okay.

12:09.000 --> 12:13.000
And so we not only have to believe in the resurrection in order to be saved,

12:13.000 --> 12:16.000
but we need to believe that Jesus Christ bodily rose from the grave.

12:16.000 --> 12:21.000
And if anyone denies that, the Bible says, they have the spirit of Antichrist,

12:21.000 --> 12:23.000
according to First John Chapter 4.

12:23.000 --> 12:27.000
Okay. So that kind of helps us narrow down what are the right religions,

12:27.000 --> 12:30.000
segments of Christianity and what are the wrong ones.

12:30.000 --> 12:33.000
If anyone denies the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ,

12:33.000 --> 12:38.000
automatically they're cut from being part of the Christendom.

12:38.000 --> 12:43.000
Okay. You know, in order for us to narrow down what is the biblical form of Christianity,

12:43.000 --> 12:47.000
one of the best ways to determine that is like, what do you believe about the resurrection?

12:47.000 --> 12:49.000
Well, we don't believe there's a resurrection.

12:49.000 --> 12:51.000
Okay, then you're not Christianity then.

12:51.000 --> 12:54.000
Because biblical Christianity teaches the resurrection of Christ.

12:54.000 --> 12:58.000
And in doing so, it teaches that we will also resurrect as well.

12:58.000 --> 13:01.000
And it's kind of nonsensical to think that you believe in the resurrection of Christ,

13:01.000 --> 13:03.000
but not the resurrection of believers.

13:03.000 --> 13:05.000
But make no mistake about it, there's people out there that don't believe

13:05.000 --> 13:07.000
that Christians will resurrect from the grave.

13:07.000 --> 13:11.000
Okay. We're just going to go to heaven and our bodies will stay in the grave.

13:11.000 --> 13:13.000
Wrong, wrong.

13:13.000 --> 13:17.000
Because the resurrection of believers is directly tied to and is a,

13:17.000 --> 13:22.000
or should I say the resurrection of Christ is a prototype of our resurrection in the end time.

13:22.000 --> 13:27.000
So we see that the doctrine of salvation is directly tied to our salvation.

13:27.000 --> 13:30.000
And if you don't know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you're saved today, okay.

13:30.000 --> 13:32.000
Meaning that like you have any doubt.

13:32.000 --> 13:35.000
You're just wondering. You're not, you're questioning.

13:35.000 --> 13:37.000
You're not sure if you're saved.

13:37.000 --> 13:39.000
That's a horrible place to be in, by the way.

13:39.000 --> 13:41.000
Right, to not know that you're saved.

13:41.000 --> 13:44.000
To just constantly wonder like, well, I know that I love God.

13:44.000 --> 13:47.000
I've been to church. I read the Bible.

13:47.000 --> 13:49.000
You know, I think I'm saved. I hope I'm saved.

13:49.000 --> 13:51.000
But you know what? Guess what?

13:51.000 --> 13:52.000
You're good enough though.

13:52.000 --> 13:56.000
The Bible says these things have arisen unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God

13:56.000 --> 13:59.000
that ye may know that ye have eternal life.

13:59.000 --> 14:02.000
And often it's those who question their salvation.

14:02.000 --> 14:05.000
They're the ones who are constantly believing that it's by works.

14:05.000 --> 14:07.000
That they have to be baptized.

14:07.000 --> 14:09.000
They have to keep God's commandments.

14:09.000 --> 14:11.000
They have to live a moral life.

14:11.000 --> 14:14.000
And you know, they have to do this, that and the other.

14:14.000 --> 14:18.000
Whereas what the Bible teaches us is that it's by your faith in Christ alone.

14:18.000 --> 14:21.000
He is sufficient to make payment. He is sufficient to save.

14:21.000 --> 14:22.000
And let me just say this.

14:22.000 --> 14:24.000
I want you to get the stickers.

14:24.000 --> 14:27.000
But more than the stickers, I want you to get salvation.

14:27.000 --> 14:31.000
Don't leave here without allowing someone.

14:31.000 --> 14:33.000
And people will come to you after the service.

14:33.000 --> 14:34.000
There's going to be a lot of people here.

14:34.000 --> 14:37.000
But someone's going to come to you after the service and ask you about salvation.

14:37.000 --> 14:40.000
And you know, don't be embarrassed.

14:40.000 --> 14:44.000
Don't be a person who's just like, oh man, I really don't want to talk about that.

14:44.000 --> 14:48.000
How do you know this is not your last opportunity to hear the message of the gospel?

14:48.000 --> 14:54.000
How do you know that God didn't direct you to come here to hear the preaching of God's word regarding the gospel, the resurrection?

14:54.000 --> 14:56.000
Because he wants you to be saved.

14:56.000 --> 15:01.000
Don't leave the doors until you have settled this and you know beyond a shadow of a doubt.

15:01.000 --> 15:03.000
I'm not talking about 90%.

15:03.000 --> 15:05.000
Like, well, I know about 80%.

15:05.000 --> 15:07.000
I'm about 90% sure.

15:07.000 --> 15:09.000
I'm 99.9% sure.

15:09.000 --> 15:13.000
Guess what? 99.9% is not enough.

15:13.000 --> 15:19.000
You have to place your faith exclusively upon the Lord Jesus Christ, meaning you don't add anything to that.

15:19.000 --> 15:27.000
Because Jesus Christ, God the Father, does not take any other payment other than the payment of the Lord Jesus Christ.

15:27.000 --> 15:29.000
So to say, well, I believe in Jesus, but it's by my works as well.

15:29.000 --> 15:31.000
I just think that I have to do works.

15:31.000 --> 15:33.000
Then guess what? You cannot be saved.

15:33.000 --> 15:36.000
Because Romans 11.6 says, and if by grace, then it is no more of works.

15:36.000 --> 15:38.000
Otherwise, grace is no more grace.

15:38.000 --> 15:42.000
So if you want something that you don't deserve, then don't add works.

15:42.000 --> 15:45.000
Because we do works in order to deserve something.

15:45.000 --> 15:50.000
But if salvation is by grace through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God and not of works.

15:50.000 --> 15:51.000
Oh, there it goes.

15:51.000 --> 15:52.000
Not of works.

15:52.000 --> 15:54.000
Lest any man should boast.

15:54.000 --> 15:56.000
So place your faith in Christ today.

15:56.000 --> 15:58.000
Get that settled today.

15:58.000 --> 16:01.000
What better time to get saved than on Easter?

16:01.000 --> 16:11.000
On Resurrection Sunday, the resurrection is directly tied to the doctrine of salvation, to the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ.

16:11.000 --> 16:13.000
Look at verse 15, if you would.

16:13.000 --> 16:21.000
And by the way, previous to that, we see that many people saw Jesus Christ come out of the grave and walk among them.

16:21.000 --> 16:28.000
We have Cephas in the 500, the Bible tells us, various individuals that saw him bodily rise from the grave.

16:28.000 --> 16:31.000
You know who I've never seen rise from the grave?

16:31.000 --> 16:33.000
It's Genghis Khan.

16:33.000 --> 16:36.000
He's still in the grave now, isn't he?

16:36.000 --> 16:39.000
Oh, but he's superior though.

16:39.000 --> 16:40.000
Doesn't sound like that to me.

16:40.000 --> 16:42.000
He's still in the grave.

16:42.000 --> 16:46.000
Yeah, he defeated so many nations, but one thing he could not defeat is death.

16:46.000 --> 16:47.000
That's funny.

16:47.000 --> 16:54.000
Oh, yeah, he expanded his great empire and his great kingdom, but he couldn't go beyond the grave.

16:54.000 --> 16:57.000
Jesus Christ, on the other hand, has.

16:57.000 --> 17:00.000
And that goes for every other false prophet out there.

17:00.000 --> 17:03.000
Muhammad, he's in hell today.

17:03.000 --> 17:05.000
Buddha is in hell today.

17:05.000 --> 17:09.000
Every leader of every false religion has never conquered death.

17:09.000 --> 17:10.000
They've never conquered hell.

17:10.000 --> 17:11.000
Jesus Christ is the only one.

17:11.000 --> 17:12.000
And you know what?

17:12.000 --> 17:14.000
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life.

17:14.000 --> 17:16.000
No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

17:16.000 --> 17:20.000
Jesus Christ should not be added to your plethora of beliefs and false gods.

17:20.000 --> 17:22.000
He's the only God.

17:22.000 --> 17:24.000
And he's not just the Son of God.

17:24.000 --> 17:26.000
He is God himself.

17:26.000 --> 17:27.000
He's God in the flesh.

17:27.000 --> 17:33.000
And if you say, well, I trust in Jesus Christ, but I just also believe you can add all these other idols,

17:33.000 --> 17:38.000
all these other gods, all these other forms of worship, then guess what?

17:38.000 --> 17:44.000
You don't believe exclusively upon the Lord Jesus Christ because he requires 100 percent belief upon him as being God.

17:44.000 --> 17:47.000
OK, well, that's offensive.

17:47.000 --> 17:49.000
Yeah, of course.

17:49.000 --> 17:50.000
Yeah, it's offensive.

17:50.000 --> 17:52.000
But you can't really do anything about it.

17:52.000 --> 17:53.000
OK, thank you.

17:53.000 --> 17:55.000
Because who's the one offering salvation is God.

17:55.000 --> 17:57.000
Those are the stipulations.

17:57.000 --> 18:01.000
Those are the conditions for salvation is that you have to trust exclusively upon Jesus Christ.

18:01.000 --> 18:05.000
And you may think to yourself, well, you know, I don't believe in any other gods.

18:05.000 --> 18:06.000
But hold on a second.

18:06.000 --> 18:10.000
If you're trusting in yourself, though, that's just as bad.

18:10.000 --> 18:15.000
If you're trusting in your own works and your ability to keep God's command, that's just as bad.

18:15.000 --> 18:18.000
And so it's important for us to recognize that the gospel is the death,

18:18.000 --> 18:23.000
the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and then we have to exclusively trust in that in order to be saved.

18:23.000 --> 18:28.000
The Bible tells us in Ephesians 1 13, in whom you also trusted after that, you heard the word of truth,

18:28.000 --> 18:35.000
the gospel of your salvation, in whom also after that you believed you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise.

18:35.000 --> 18:38.000
Nothing to do with works, nothing to do with your deeds.

18:38.000 --> 18:43.000
Therefore, we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law, the Bible says.

18:43.000 --> 18:50.000
OK, and so it's important for us to recognize that that our own righteousness cannot save us.

18:50.000 --> 18:54.000
There's only one righteous person who has ever lived, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ.

18:54.000 --> 18:56.000
The Bible says there's none righteous, no, not one.

18:56.000 --> 18:58.000
There's none that do with good.

18:58.000 --> 19:02.000
The Bible says there's not a just man upon earth that do with good and sinneth not.

19:02.000 --> 19:09.000
So you may not be a murderer, you may not be an adulterer, you may not be a chronic thief,

19:09.000 --> 19:12.000
but hold on a second, who's ever keeping the whole law yet offended in one point?

19:12.000 --> 19:15.000
He's guilty of all, James 2 10, that's what the Bible says.

19:15.000 --> 19:17.000
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

19:17.000 --> 19:21.000
Therefore, we need the righteousness of Jesus Christ in order to be saved.

19:21.000 --> 19:27.000
OK, look at verse 15, if you would, first Corinthians, chapter 15 and verse 15.

19:27.000 --> 19:37.000
It says here, Ye and we are found false witnesses of God because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ,

19:37.000 --> 19:40.000
whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.

19:40.000 --> 19:44.000
For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised.

19:44.000 --> 19:47.000
And if Christ be not raised, then your faith is vain.

19:48.000 --> 19:56.000
Ye are yet in your sins, then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished, the Bible says.

19:56.000 --> 20:02.000
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

20:02.000 --> 20:07.000
Let me just tell you this is that the resurrection also demonstrates the validity of eternal damnation.

20:07.000 --> 20:12.000
Because at the end of the day, if the Bible saying here, if he didn't rise from the grave, then we've all perished.

20:13.000 --> 20:17.000
You know what, when it means to perish, it means to go to hell and burn eternally.

20:17.000 --> 20:20.000
That's what damnation is referring to. That's what it means to perish.

20:20.000 --> 20:26.000
It means to physically die. But it also means that your spirit is eternally damned in a place called hell.

20:26.000 --> 20:29.000
And make no mistake about it, hell is a real place, my friends.

20:29.000 --> 20:36.000
Don't buy into this weak Christianity that wants to avoid talking about damnation and hell.

20:36.000 --> 20:40.000
And it's not a separation from God. Let me just break that down to you.

20:40.000 --> 20:48.000
It's not a separation from God. Hell is literal fire in brimstone where the worm dith not and the fire is not quenched.

20:48.000 --> 20:53.000
The Bible says that they have no rest day nor night, that they're tormented day and night.

20:53.000 --> 20:59.000
You know, the Bible tells us that the rich man in Luke chapter 16 lifted up his eyes in hell.

20:59.000 --> 21:04.000
Listen to this, being in torment. That's not separation from God.

21:04.000 --> 21:09.000
It means that he's being tormented. And the Bible also says that they're tormented before the presence of the lamb.

21:09.000 --> 21:14.000
Why? Because God is omniscient, he's omnipotent, he's omnipresent.

21:14.000 --> 21:19.000
He sees all things. And the Bible tells us that hell is naked before him.

21:19.000 --> 21:25.000
You know, we need to recognize that we need to start just talking about the doctrine of hell once again.

21:25.000 --> 21:29.000
Too many people are just scared about talking about hell. They don't want to offend anybody.

21:29.000 --> 21:32.000
They don't want people to get the wrong idea.

21:32.000 --> 21:35.000
I don't think that's going to push people away from Christianity.

21:35.000 --> 21:40.000
But on the contrary, it actually pushes people to get saved. Why?

21:40.000 --> 21:45.000
Oh, that's a fear tactic. Yeah. Hell's scary.

21:45.000 --> 21:51.000
You know, hell's not just some holding cell.

21:51.000 --> 21:54.000
He says there's torment. He says there's fire. He says there's brimstone.

21:54.000 --> 22:00.000
I don't think it's right for you to use scare tactics in order to cause people to believe on Jesus Christ.

22:00.000 --> 22:05.000
The Bible says if some have compassion, making a difference, others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire.

22:05.000 --> 22:11.000
How about that? So the Bible says we save with fear because we want people to flee from the wrath of God to come.

22:11.000 --> 22:18.000
God wants you to be afraid of hell if you're not saved. Because it's real.

22:18.000 --> 22:29.000
And so, you know, we need to get away from this soft, limp, rusted Christianity out there that seeks to make excuses of the hard passages in the Bible, the hard doctrines in the Bible.

22:29.000 --> 22:34.000
We need to stop apologizing for what the Bible explicitly says. Just tell it like it is.

22:34.000 --> 22:41.000
Do you think this person went to hell if they don't believe on Jesus Christ without flinching? Yes.

22:41.000 --> 22:47.000
You know, and here's the thing, folks, you know, what's really driving people away from Christianity is we Christians is what it is.

22:47.000 --> 22:49.000
Christians are not willing to tell you the truth.

22:49.000 --> 22:58.000
People are just sick and tired of the soft soaked, just flattery from the pulpit that just doesn't want to offend anybody.

22:58.000 --> 23:01.000
Folks, it's our responsibility to just give you the truth.

23:01.000 --> 23:04.000
And you know what? People want the truth. They want to hear the hard truth.

23:04.000 --> 23:14.000
And I guarantee you the majority of people in this building rather be told the truth and be offended and not be told the truth at all and feel good on the way out.

23:14.000 --> 23:19.000
You know, I'm all for encouraging people. I'm all for exhortative sermons.

23:19.000 --> 23:24.000
I'm all for building people up, but not at the exclusion of giving you the truth.

23:24.000 --> 23:28.000
And you know what? You need to be offended every once in a while.

23:28.000 --> 23:32.000
And hell should not offend any Christian.

23:32.000 --> 23:35.000
Should not offend any Christian at all. If you're a Christian, you're offended by hell.

23:35.000 --> 23:41.000
You might want to recheck that salvation because you have to believe in hell in order to be saved.

23:41.000 --> 23:46.000
Because if hell doesn't exist, then why did you get saved? Why got saved? Because I want to just be closer to God.

23:46.000 --> 23:51.000
That's not a biblical concept in the Bible. We get saved to have eternal life.

23:51.000 --> 24:00.000
That means to live with God forever. And guess what the alternative is? Flames. Brimstone. Eternal damnation.

24:00.000 --> 24:02.000
That's what the Bible teaches.

24:02.000 --> 24:08.000
And so it's time for us to move away from this godless Christianity that's out there.

24:08.000 --> 24:12.000
That's constantly apologizing for biblical truths.

24:12.000 --> 24:18.000
And you know what? We need to move closer to what the Bible actually says and recognize that sometimes the Bible divides people.

24:18.000 --> 24:21.000
It's what the Bible says. And embrace the concept of hell.

24:21.000 --> 24:24.000
When we go out and evangelize, we always talk about hell.

24:24.000 --> 24:27.000
You know, we always say the Bible says you deserve hell for the wages of sin is death.

24:27.000 --> 24:40.000
Romans 6 23. The Bible tells us, but the fearful and unbelieving and the abominable and murderers and whoremongers and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

24:40.000 --> 24:45.000
Whose service name was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

24:45.000 --> 24:47.000
These are the scriptures that we quote when we're out sowning.

24:47.000 --> 24:49.000
And how does that work out for you? Yeah.

24:49.000 --> 24:52.000
The majority of the time people get saved because of it.

24:52.000 --> 24:55.000
You know, because they're like, oh, I didn't even know that was real.

24:55.000 --> 25:00.000
I is hell real, even though these persons have been going to church for so long.

25:00.000 --> 25:04.000
But unfortunately, the pastor refuses to talk about the concept of hell.

25:05.000 --> 25:10.000
And what the apostle Paul is saying here is that if Christ did not resurrect from the grave, then guess what?

25:10.000 --> 25:12.000
We're miserable people.

25:12.000 --> 25:14.000
Meaning there is no afterlife.

25:14.000 --> 25:16.000
We just perish. We just die and go to hell.

25:16.000 --> 25:18.000
We just burn in hell forever.

25:18.000 --> 25:21.000
You know, because there is no there is no resurrection.

25:21.000 --> 25:24.000
You know, if if Christ be not risen, let's just go to the beach today.

25:24.000 --> 25:26.000
Let's just forget church.

25:26.000 --> 25:29.000
Some of you might do that, but I'm talking about like during church.

25:29.000 --> 25:31.000
Let's just sleep in.

25:31.000 --> 25:33.000
Let's not preach the word of God.

25:33.000 --> 25:37.000
Let's not emphasize the things of God because there is no resurrection.

25:37.000 --> 25:40.000
But because there is a resurrection, there is purpose to life.

25:40.000 --> 25:43.000
Right. Because we know there will be an afterlife.

25:43.000 --> 25:48.000
And let me just say this. The resurrection of Jesus Christ gives us hope for our for for those who we've lost.

25:48.000 --> 25:52.000
Right. For those who have believed on Jesus Christ and they died.

25:52.000 --> 25:55.000
It gives us hope that we're going to see them again one day.

25:55.000 --> 25:57.000
You think God doesn't know that?

25:57.000 --> 25:59.000
You think God doesn't take that into account?

25:59.000 --> 26:04.000
That people miss their lot, their loved ones who have died.

26:04.000 --> 26:05.000
You know, who have believed on Jesus Christ.

26:05.000 --> 26:06.000
Of course, he knows that.

26:06.000 --> 26:09.000
Therefore, he gives the promise of the resurrection.

26:09.000 --> 26:13.000
That's why he says, comfort one another with these words.

26:13.000 --> 26:18.000
The Bible tells us that the dead in Christ shall rise first and we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds.

26:18.000 --> 26:20.000
And so shall we ever be with the Lord.

26:20.000 --> 26:23.000
Therefore, comfort one another with these words.

26:23.000 --> 26:25.000
You know, and I mentioned it from time to time.

26:25.000 --> 26:30.000
But, you know, my church members and I, you know, I'm going to bury you or you're going to bury me one day.

26:30.000 --> 26:31.000
That's just the honest truth.

26:31.000 --> 26:36.000
We live in a world where death is present and one day I will do your funeral.

26:36.000 --> 26:39.000
And you know what? One day you will do my funeral.

26:39.000 --> 26:43.000
But that's not the end because we will see each other again because of the resurrection.

26:43.000 --> 26:47.000
But if none of that was real, then we are all men most miserable.

26:47.000 --> 26:49.000
You're like, man, you sound miserable up there.

26:49.000 --> 26:51.000
You know, you just sound mad.

26:51.000 --> 26:54.000
Well, you know, I'm just trying to give you the truth here of the doctrine of the resurrection.

26:54.000 --> 26:56.000
It's something that we need to take serious.

26:56.000 --> 27:03.000
It is a foundational doctrine of the Christian faith and it's closely tied to eternal damnation.

27:03.000 --> 27:13.000
He says in verse 19 again, it says, if in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

27:13.000 --> 27:20.000
He goes on to say, verse 20, But now is Christ risen from the dead and become the first fruits of them that slept.

27:20.000 --> 27:25.000
For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

27:25.000 --> 27:29.000
For as an Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

27:29.000 --> 27:37.000
But every man in his own order, Christ the first fruits, afterward they that are Christ at his coming.

27:37.000 --> 27:43.000
So the first doctrine that's tied to the resurrection is the gospel, the doctrine of salvation.

27:43.000 --> 27:45.000
The second one is the bodily resurrection.

27:45.000 --> 27:47.000
The third is eternal damnation.

27:47.000 --> 27:48.000
Here's the fourth doctrine.

27:48.000 --> 27:52.000
The rapture is closely tied to the resurrection.

27:52.000 --> 27:57.000
Now, here's a doctrine that needs to be emphasized almost just as much as hell today,

27:57.000 --> 28:00.000
because a lot of people are questioning whether there is any rapture.

28:00.000 --> 28:02.000
They don't believe in the rapture.

28:02.000 --> 28:07.000
People getting caught up in preterism, for example, believing that there is no rapture.

28:07.000 --> 28:09.000
And obviously we can understand why.

28:09.000 --> 28:13.000
You know, a lot of people are kind of moving away from dispensationalism.

28:13.000 --> 28:15.000
They're moving away from Zionism.

28:15.000 --> 28:19.000
And with that, they're moving away from the pre-tribulation rapture.

28:19.000 --> 28:23.000
And thank God for that, because the pre-tribulation rapture is a false doctrine.

28:23.000 --> 28:24.000
It's not a real doctrine.

28:24.000 --> 28:29.000
It's a fake doctrine put forth by dispensationalism, you know, and Zionism.

28:29.000 --> 28:36.000
It's put forth by C.I. Schofield's notes, by Clarence Larkin, John Nelson Darby.

28:36.000 --> 28:39.000
These are the architects of dispensationalism.

28:39.000 --> 28:41.000
And you know, the pre-tribulation rapture is false.

28:42.000 --> 28:47.000
There's plenty of evidence in the Bible to substantiate the claim that Christ will come after the tribulation,

28:47.000 --> 28:50.000
that the rapture of Jesus Christ is not imminent.

28:50.000 --> 28:53.000
It's the coming of the Antichrist that's imminent.

28:53.000 --> 28:57.000
You know, the Bible tells us that Jesus Christ will come after the tribulation.

28:57.000 --> 29:01.000
And it also says that we must, through much tribulation, enter into the kingdom of God,

29:01.000 --> 29:08.000
that we are appointed unto tribulation, okay, meaning that we're supposed to go through hard times.

29:08.000 --> 29:14.000
And we will ultimately experience affliction if the second coming of Christ so happens in our lifetime.

29:14.000 --> 29:18.000
The point that I'm making here is that we need to emphasize the doctrine of the rapture,

29:18.000 --> 29:21.000
meaning that Jesus Christ is coming again.

29:21.000 --> 29:28.000
He will rapture all believers and take them to heaven with them for those three and a half years until the millennial reign.

29:28.000 --> 29:29.000
Okay.

29:29.000 --> 29:31.000
And so that is what the rapture is referring to.

29:31.000 --> 29:34.000
And you think to yourself, well, where's rapture in the Bible?

29:34.000 --> 29:37.000
Well, here's the thing, folks, is there's plenty of terms in the Bible.

29:37.000 --> 29:38.000
Excuse me.

29:38.000 --> 29:44.000
Plenty of doctrines that are in the Bible that we make up terms for in order to describe that particular doctrine.

29:44.000 --> 29:46.000
Trinity being one of them.

29:46.000 --> 29:50.000
It's not a word in the Bible, but it describes a biblical concept in the Bible.

29:50.000 --> 29:52.000
And so rapture is the same thing.

29:52.000 --> 29:54.000
It's to be caught up.

29:54.000 --> 29:55.000
It's to be captured.

29:55.000 --> 29:57.000
That's what it means to be raptured.

29:57.000 --> 30:01.000
And we see that doctrine emphasized here in 1 Corinthians chapter 15.

30:01.000 --> 30:12.000
He says in verse number 23, but every man in his own order, Christ the firstfruits afterward, they that are Christ at his coming.

30:12.000 --> 30:13.000
What does that refer to?

30:13.000 --> 30:22.000
Well, here's the thing is that Jesus Christ is not the first person to come back from the dead because we have to see clear examples of the Old Testament of people coming back to life.

30:22.000 --> 30:23.000
Right.

30:23.000 --> 30:28.000
However, he's the first person to resurrect glorified.

30:29.000 --> 30:31.000
That is a major difference.

30:31.000 --> 30:40.000
And this is what the Bible means when he says that Christ is the first fruits, meaning he's the first person to resurrect to come back to life glorified.

30:40.000 --> 30:51.000
And then it says afterward, they that are Christ at his coming, meaning you and I will also be glorified when he returns the second time.

30:51.000 --> 30:55.000
So it's obviously emphasizing the doctrine of the rapture.

30:55.000 --> 30:57.000
Go to first Thessalonians if you would.

30:57.000 --> 30:58.000
First Thessalonians.

31:02.000 --> 31:04.000
First Thessalonians chapter number four.

31:06.000 --> 31:17.000
First Thessalonians chapter number four, verse 13 says this, but I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren concerning them, which are asleep that they they sorrow not even as others which have no hope.

31:17.000 --> 31:25.000
For if we believe that Jesus Christ, Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus, will God bring with him.

31:25.000 --> 31:40.000
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord that we which are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep for the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with the shout and with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

31:40.000 --> 31:44.000
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up.

31:44.000 --> 31:47.000
That's the rapture together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord of the air.

31:47.000 --> 31:49.000
And so shall we ever be with the Lord.

31:49.000 --> 31:56.000
So when the Bible says that Christ is the first fruits, then we then we shall come after that in first Corinthians chapter 15.

31:56.000 --> 31:59.000
It's referring to the glorification process right.

31:59.000 --> 32:02.000
It's that event where we are resurrected glorified.

32:02.000 --> 32:06.000
So the rapture is being emphasized in first Corinthians chapter 15.

32:06.000 --> 32:08.000
Go back if you would to first Corinthians 15.

32:08.000 --> 32:22.000
He says once again in verse in verse 24 verse 23, but every man in his own order Christ the first fruits afterward they that are Christ that is coming.

32:22.000 --> 32:37.000
And I want you to notice this verse 24, then cometh the end when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the father when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power for he must reign.

32:37.000 --> 32:40.000
Till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

32:40.000 --> 32:46.000
Now what is another doctrine that the resurrection emphasizes the millennial reign of Jesus Christ.

32:46.000 --> 32:48.000
That's what it's referring to.

32:48.000 --> 32:51.000
Now here's the interesting thing I talked about this last week.

32:51.000 --> 33:01.000
Preterism or some segments of preterism some segments of post millennialism, you know, believe that everything right.

33:01.000 --> 33:06.000
The world will become Christian eyes before the second coming of Christ.

33:06.000 --> 33:19.000
This is why they're constantly pushing for Christians to get involved in politics to Christian eyes the nation to Christian eyes the world, not just churches, but just globally make a political type of arena for Christians because they're going to be the first

33:20.000 --> 33:24.000
Because that is what's going to usher in the Lord Jesus Christ.

33:24.000 --> 33:30.000
So they basically believe once everything has become Christian eyes, then Jesus Christ will come.

33:30.000 --> 33:32.000
But what is the Bible saying here?

33:32.000 --> 33:39.000
It says here that Jesus Christ is the one who's going to deliver up the kingdom unto God the father.

33:39.000 --> 33:45.000
And it says in verse 25, for he must reign till he has put all enemies under his feet.

33:45.000 --> 33:49.000
The post millennialist view is that everything has to be put under his feet and then he comes.

33:49.000 --> 33:57.000
What the Bible teaches is that he's going to come put everything under his feet, subdue all things, and then he's going to deliver up the kingdom unto God the father.

33:57.000 --> 33:58.000
What does that say?

33:58.000 --> 34:01.000
It's showing us that the millennial reign is an actual thousand year reign.

34:01.000 --> 34:06.000
Look, folks, it is a fool's errand to try to Christianize the entire world.

34:06.000 --> 34:09.000
Obviously, we're supposed to preach the gospel and get a bunch of people saved.

34:10.000 --> 34:15.000
Obviously, our goal is to preach the kingdom of God, teach people the Bible.

34:15.000 --> 34:16.000
But let me just tell you something.

34:16.000 --> 34:21.000
The Bible tells us explicitly that broad is the way that lead it to destruction.

34:21.000 --> 34:22.000
And listen to this.

34:22.000 --> 34:38.000
And many there be which go in there at that is in stark contrast to the view that everything will be Christianized because it's not the only time everyone will agree together regarding the worship of one man is in the New World Order when they worship the Antichrist.

34:38.000 --> 34:45.000
The biblical model of what we see here is that Jesus Christ, when he comes in the end, what's going to happen?

34:45.000 --> 34:47.000
He's going to subdue all things.

34:47.000 --> 34:48.000
That is what the millennial reign is all about.

34:48.000 --> 34:50.000
That's when actually politics will matter.

34:53.000 --> 34:57.000
Is what Jesus Christ is ruling in reigning for a thousand years.

34:57.000 --> 34:58.000
Politics don't matter right now.

34:58.000 --> 34:59.000
Sorry to break it to you.

34:59.000 --> 35:02.000
Sorry to give you this message on Easter Sunday.

35:02.000 --> 35:04.000
Sorry, but not sorry.

35:04.000 --> 35:05.000
Sorry, but not sorry.

35:05.000 --> 35:09.000
Politics literally do not matter at all in the eyes of God.

35:09.000 --> 35:23.000
It's not until Jesus Christ rules and reigns for a thousand years in his kingdom of priests and kings when he gives power unto the believers who kept the commandments into the end who served God.

35:23.000 --> 35:26.000
That's the only time that politics will matter.

35:26.000 --> 35:27.000
But let me just say this.

35:27.000 --> 35:32.000
Even in that particular era, sin will still abound.

35:32.000 --> 35:34.000
People will still do wickedly.

35:34.000 --> 35:37.000
People will still reject Jesus Christ.

35:37.000 --> 35:38.000
Why?

35:38.000 --> 35:41.000
Because at the end of the day, the problem is not a political problem.

35:41.000 --> 35:42.000
It's a sin problem.

35:42.000 --> 35:43.000
Reformation.

35:43.000 --> 35:45.000
You can bring reformation to the land.

35:45.000 --> 35:46.000
But guess what?

35:46.000 --> 35:49.000
If it's not through spiritual means, it means nothing.

35:49.000 --> 35:51.000
It's a superficial change.

35:51.000 --> 35:52.000
Why?

35:52.000 --> 35:58.000
Because at the end of the day, even in those thousand years, people are still going to reject Jesus Christ, believe it or not.

35:58.000 --> 36:06.000
Even though he's right there, right before the people, he's ruling and reigning, people will still reject him.

36:06.000 --> 36:09.000
Now, that should come as no surprise because he came the first time and people rejected him.

36:09.000 --> 36:11.000
He came into his own, his own received him.

36:11.000 --> 36:15.000
So there should be no surprise that when he comes and sets up his millennial reign, guess what?

36:15.000 --> 36:17.000
People will still reject him.

36:17.000 --> 36:19.000
So are you sure that people are going to reject him?

36:19.000 --> 36:20.000
I don't know about that.

36:20.000 --> 36:27.000
I feel like if he's ruling and reigning in Jerusalem and he's doing that, the world is just going to worship him.

36:27.000 --> 36:32.000
They're going to see that he's, you know, all these Jews are going to get saved and, you know, all the Muslims are going to come.

36:32.000 --> 36:33.000
No.

36:33.000 --> 36:37.000
And let me explain to you, let me, let me explain to you why that's not the case.

36:37.000 --> 36:40.000
Because at the end of those thousand years, what do we have?

36:40.000 --> 36:42.000
The Battle of Gog and Magog.

36:42.000 --> 36:44.000
You know what the Battle of Gog and Magog is?

36:44.000 --> 36:47.000
Is when the whole world turns against Christ and all believers.

36:47.000 --> 36:52.000
Satan is released from the bottomless pit to deceive the nations.

36:52.000 --> 36:58.000
And then they all gathered together for the Battle of Gog and Magog to fight against Jesus Christ and all believers.

36:58.000 --> 37:02.000
And they all collect and then God just throws a fireball and just destroys them all.

37:02.000 --> 37:04.000
Let me just tell you something.

37:04.000 --> 37:06.000
You know, Jesus Christ is there in the flesh.

37:06.000 --> 37:08.000
He's there ruling and reigning.

37:08.000 --> 37:10.000
Yet you have the entire world turning against him.

37:10.000 --> 37:13.000
You know, that tells me the world's problem is a sin problem.

37:13.000 --> 37:15.000
It's not a policy problem.

37:15.000 --> 37:16.000
It's a sin problem.

37:16.000 --> 37:24.000
And so every, this is why it says in verse 25, for he must reign till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

37:24.000 --> 37:31.000
You know, you have Catholics today, for example, that believe that, you know, online Catholics believe that we have to do the Inquisitions again.

37:31.000 --> 37:33.000
We got to do the, how many of you have heard that?

37:33.000 --> 37:35.000
Like, oh, we got to do the Inquisition.

37:35.000 --> 37:41.000
We have to go out and do it the way they used to do it in the middle, in the medieval times and all this stuff.

37:41.000 --> 37:47.000
But here's the thing, folks, is that, you know, that's nonexistent in the New Testament other than in the millennial reign.

37:47.000 --> 37:57.000
And even then, Jesus Christ is a benevolent ruler subjugating the world under his law, but not forcing anybody to believe on him.

37:57.000 --> 38:00.000
Because people still have to choose during the millennial reign.

38:00.000 --> 38:03.000
But it says here that all enemies will be put under his feet.

38:03.000 --> 38:07.000
Verse 26, the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

38:08.000 --> 38:14.000
So that means that even when Jesus Christ is ruling and reigning, death is still present, because sin is still present.

38:14.000 --> 38:16.000
People are still dying. Murder is still taking place.

38:16.000 --> 38:22.000
Albeit, it's being punished speedily, not like today's judicial system.

38:22.000 --> 38:26.000
Someone's on death row for like 25 years or whatever, and then they die of natural causes.

38:26.000 --> 38:31.000
You know, in the millennial reign, they will be put to death immediately, according to the Bible.

38:31.000 --> 38:35.000
And then the last enemy that Jesus Christ destroys is death.

38:35.000 --> 38:37.000
We see that in Revelation 20, look at verse 27.

38:59.000 --> 39:00.000
What is it saying?

39:00.000 --> 39:07.000
Well, it's teaching us that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is directly tied to, yes, the millennial reign of Christ.

39:07.000 --> 39:13.000
Because he's going to return, and he's going to rule and reign with others who have resurrected as well.

39:13.000 --> 39:15.000
Look at verse 35, if you would, verse 35.

39:15.000 --> 39:19.000
We're talking about doctrines that are tied to the resurrection.

39:19.000 --> 39:26.000
The doctrine of salvation, the bodily resurrection, eternal damnation, the rapture, the millennial reign.

39:26.000 --> 39:29.000
And how about this? The doctrine of glorification.

39:29.000 --> 39:34.000
Now, this is probably one of the most important doctrines that are tied to the resurrection.

39:34.000 --> 39:36.000
Okay. And let me explain to you why.

39:36.000 --> 39:37.000
Well, let's read a couple of verses here.

39:37.000 --> 39:42.000
Look at verse 35. It says, but some man will say, how are the dead raised up?

39:42.000 --> 39:44.000
And with what body do they come?

39:44.000 --> 39:48.000
So in other words, he's saying, you know, hey, there's a resurrection, you're going to resurrect.

39:48.000 --> 39:53.000
And he's saying, one of you guys at the church are going to say, well, how does that even work?

39:53.000 --> 39:55.000
How are the dead going to be raised?

39:55.000 --> 39:56.000
Like, what kind of body are you going to have?

39:56.000 --> 39:57.000
Are you going to have a six pack?

39:57.000 --> 39:58.000
Are you going to have a full set of hair?

39:58.000 --> 40:00.000
Are you know, is it going to be black hair?

40:00.000 --> 40:02.000
Am I, you know, what?

40:02.000 --> 40:04.000
Tell me how I'm going to look.

40:04.000 --> 40:05.000
Right.

40:05.000 --> 40:07.000
Am I going to be able to is this true looks maxing?

40:07.000 --> 40:09.000
Am I going to ascend completely at this time?

40:09.000 --> 40:14.000
You know, what kind of body am I going to receive in the resurrection?

40:14.000 --> 40:16.000
And really, that's just the wrong question.

40:16.000 --> 40:20.000
Because we're seeing this or asking this through carnal eyes.

40:20.000 --> 40:24.000
You know, am I going to look like just a Hollywood star?

40:24.000 --> 40:27.000
You know, am I going to look like just a Hollywood star?

40:27.000 --> 40:29.000
You know, am I going to have height?

40:29.000 --> 40:31.000
Am I going to be skinny, fat?

40:31.000 --> 40:33.000
Am I going to be muscular?

40:33.000 --> 40:35.000
That stuff is irrelevant in the resurrection.

40:35.000 --> 40:38.000
OK, because what is the resurrection really all about?

40:38.000 --> 40:41.000
It's about removing sin from you.

40:41.000 --> 40:45.000
You see, even though we're saved, we send every single day.

40:45.000 --> 40:46.000
Why?

40:46.000 --> 40:52.000
Because we have this corruptible body and anybody who has strived to serve God knows what that battle is like.

40:53.000 --> 40:56.000
Just fighting the flesh every single day, right?

40:56.000 --> 40:59.000
The flesh lessens against the spirit, the spirit against the flesh.

40:59.000 --> 41:01.000
These are contrary to one to the other.

41:01.000 --> 41:13.000
So they cannot do the things that you would just, you know, the battle in the mind, the battle in our flesh, the battle in our members that are constantly fighting against us in order for us not to accomplish what God wants us to do.

41:13.000 --> 41:18.000
We wake up in the morning and we have to make ourselves read the Bible, make ourselves pray, make ourselves go to church.

41:18.000 --> 41:20.000
It's a battle sometimes, right?

41:20.000 --> 41:21.000
Why?

41:21.000 --> 41:22.000
Why?

41:22.000 --> 41:24.000
Because you have this corruptible flesh.

41:24.000 --> 41:30.000
And so the solution to your sin problem is what?

41:30.000 --> 41:32.000
The glorification, the resurrection.

41:32.000 --> 41:36.000
So it's not necessarily like, oh, how many toes am I going to get, you know?

41:36.000 --> 41:40.000
You know, what race am I going to be or something, you know?

41:40.000 --> 41:42.000
How dark am I going to be?

41:42.000 --> 41:44.000
How light am I going to be?

41:44.000 --> 41:46.000
Am I finally going to get my blue eyes, my A1s?

41:46.000 --> 41:48.000
Am I going to have like blonde hair?

41:48.000 --> 41:49.000
Like what is going to be?

41:49.000 --> 41:50.000
That's not all.

41:50.000 --> 41:52.000
That's not what glorification is.

41:52.000 --> 41:53.000
You know what glorification is?

41:53.000 --> 41:57.000
The absence of sin from your body.

41:57.000 --> 42:02.000
So he says, you know, some man's going to say like, what body is it going to be?

42:02.000 --> 42:03.000
How are the dead raised up?

42:03.000 --> 42:05.000
And with what body do they come?

42:05.000 --> 42:09.000
And, you know, it seems as though the apostle Paul is pretty upset at this question.

42:09.000 --> 42:11.000
Because look at verse 36.

42:11.000 --> 42:14.000
Thou fool.

42:14.000 --> 42:17.000
Translation, you idiot.

42:17.000 --> 42:18.000
You stupid person.

42:18.000 --> 42:19.000
That's what it means.

42:19.000 --> 42:20.000
Thou fool.

42:20.000 --> 42:24.000
That which thou sowest is not quicken, except it die.

42:24.000 --> 42:29.000
And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain.

42:29.000 --> 42:32.000
It may chance of wheat or of some other grain.

42:32.000 --> 42:38.000
But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him and to every seed his own body.

42:38.000 --> 42:39.000
What does this mean?

42:39.000 --> 42:44.000
It means you're not thinking of this in a biblically logical manner.

42:44.000 --> 42:52.000
And he says, you know, when you sow a seed into the ground, right, you don't just get a giant seed coming out of the dirt.

42:52.000 --> 42:55.000
You sow grain, you don't get a giant grain coming.

42:55.000 --> 42:59.000
Because, you know, you're thinking, what he's saying, this rhetorical question that's being put forth,

42:59.000 --> 43:04.000
he's like, you're basically saying, if I sow grain, I'm just going to get a beautiful piece of grain that comes out of the ground.

43:04.000 --> 43:05.000
It's not the way it works.

43:05.000 --> 43:06.000
You know what comes out?

43:06.000 --> 43:09.000
Something completely different than that which is sown in.

43:09.000 --> 43:13.000
When you sow a particular seed, you don't see that seed anymore.

43:13.000 --> 43:14.000
It's buried.

43:14.000 --> 43:19.000
And when it comes out, it comes out something completely different than that which went in.

43:19.000 --> 43:23.000
And herein lies the description of the resurrection.

43:23.000 --> 43:26.000
You go into the ground, something completely different comes out.

43:26.000 --> 43:28.000
A body comes out for sure.

43:28.000 --> 43:30.000
But you know what?

43:30.000 --> 43:33.000
It's not about your blonde hair.

43:33.000 --> 43:35.000
It's not about your muscles.

43:35.000 --> 43:37.000
It's not about the six pack.

43:37.000 --> 43:40.000
It's about the sinless body that resurrects.

43:40.000 --> 43:41.000
That's what it's about.

43:41.000 --> 43:42.000
And let me just say this.

43:42.000 --> 43:49.000
This is why it's important that we as Christians keep practicing burial for the dead.

43:49.000 --> 43:50.000
Okay?

43:50.000 --> 43:51.000
As Christians.

43:51.000 --> 43:53.000
It's not commanded in the Bible.

43:53.000 --> 43:54.000
It's just implied.

43:54.000 --> 43:55.000
Okay?

43:55.000 --> 43:56.000
Why?

43:56.000 --> 43:59.000
Because what's with the practice of burying people versus cremating?

43:59.000 --> 44:02.000
Obviously, it has nothing to do with your salvation.

44:02.000 --> 44:07.000
You know, because there's plenty of Christians throughout history that were saved that were burned at the stake, right?

44:07.000 --> 44:08.000
It doesn't affect them at all.

44:08.000 --> 44:09.000
Salvation is of the soul.

44:09.000 --> 44:10.000
It's by believing on Jesus Christ.

44:10.000 --> 44:13.000
Whatever happens to you physically does not affect anything.

44:13.000 --> 44:16.000
It's the symbolism behind it that's important.

44:16.000 --> 44:19.000
So when someone dies, according to the Bible, they were always buried.

44:19.000 --> 44:20.000
Why?

44:20.000 --> 44:28.000
Because of the fact that the person burying their loved one was doing it in faith, knowing and believing in the resurrection.

44:28.000 --> 44:34.000
They put that body in the ground because they knew that one day that person would come out completely different.

44:34.000 --> 44:36.000
That's what the resurrection is.

44:36.000 --> 44:37.000
Understand?

44:37.000 --> 44:39.000
That's important for us as Christians to continue to promote that.

44:39.000 --> 44:40.000
Right?

44:40.000 --> 44:42.000
And continue to promote burial for the dead.

44:42.000 --> 44:44.000
We see this is a picture of the resurrection.

44:44.000 --> 44:46.000
Look at verse number 39.

44:46.000 --> 44:48.000
All flesh is not the same flesh.

44:48.000 --> 44:53.000
But there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beast, another flesh of fishes and another of birds.

44:53.000 --> 44:57.000
There are also celestial bodies and bodies terrestrial.

44:57.000 --> 44:59.000
Let's not talk about aliens or anything like that.

44:59.000 --> 45:01.000
But the glory of the celestial is one.

45:01.000 --> 45:03.000
The glory of the terrestrial is another.

45:03.000 --> 45:06.000
So in other words, you know, you have your terrestrial bodies.

45:06.000 --> 45:09.000
You have your terrestrial body right now.

45:09.000 --> 45:15.000
But then one day you will resurrect in a celestial manner, meaning that you will resurrect in a completely different form.

45:15.000 --> 45:18.000
You're going to look like a human.

45:18.000 --> 45:19.000
The difference is this.

45:19.000 --> 45:20.000
You're glorified.

45:20.000 --> 45:23.000
You're absent of the presence of sin.

45:23.000 --> 45:26.000
Now, it's our first to imagine that because we're born into sin.

45:26.000 --> 45:27.000
Right?

45:27.000 --> 45:29.000
We don't know what it's like not to sin.

45:29.000 --> 45:32.000
We're tempted every single day to sin.

45:32.000 --> 45:37.000
But there will come a day for safe people where that will no longer be a thing.

45:37.000 --> 45:43.000
You will be resurrected, glorified, no longer tempted to sin and able to stand before the presence of God.

45:43.000 --> 45:46.000
Because no man shall stand before God and live.

45:46.000 --> 45:47.000
Right?

45:47.000 --> 45:48.000
Shall see my face and live.

45:48.000 --> 45:49.000
That's what God said.

45:49.000 --> 45:50.000
God, the father said.

45:50.000 --> 45:54.000
However, in our glorified state, we will be able to because we will be completely absent of sin.

45:54.000 --> 45:58.000
It says in verse 41, there is one glory of the sun and another glory of the moon.

45:58.000 --> 46:03.000
Another glory of the stars for one star differeth from another star in glory.

46:03.000 --> 46:06.000
So also is the resurrection of the dead.

46:06.000 --> 46:07.000
It is sown in corruption.

46:07.000 --> 46:08.000
It is raised in incorruption.

46:08.000 --> 46:20.000
Now, another thing I want to mention here regarding this resurrection is that some people will be a little more glorified than others, according to the Bible, because one star different than one another in glory.

46:20.000 --> 46:21.000
Why is that?

46:21.000 --> 46:25.000
Well, because of the fact that it's really based upon the works that you do here on this earth.

46:25.000 --> 46:26.000
OK?

46:26.000 --> 46:28.000
And you say to yourself, well, I thought works weren't important.

46:28.000 --> 46:29.000
Well, not for salvation.

46:29.000 --> 46:32.000
But after you're saved, yeah, get to work.

46:32.000 --> 46:33.000
Why?

46:33.000 --> 46:34.000
Because works gives us what?

46:34.000 --> 46:35.000
Rewards.

46:35.000 --> 46:47.000
And according to the Bible, it really determines the level of the resurrection, the better resurrection that we might receive it at the rapture, at the resurrection of all believers.

46:47.000 --> 46:52.000
And so we see here that the doctrine of glorification is taught.

46:52.000 --> 46:53.000
OK?

46:53.000 --> 46:54.000
Now, this is important.

46:54.000 --> 46:56.000
Look at verse number 35, if you would.

46:56.000 --> 46:57.000
I'm sorry.

46:57.000 --> 46:59.000
Let's skip down to verse number 44.

46:59.000 --> 47:01.000
It says it is sown a natural body.

47:01.000 --> 47:03.000
It is raised the spiritual body.

47:03.000 --> 47:04.000
There is a natural body.

47:04.000 --> 47:06.000
There is a spiritual body.

47:06.000 --> 47:09.000
Skip down to verse number 50.

47:09.000 --> 47:15.000
Now, this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, neither death corruption inherit in corruption.

47:15.000 --> 47:22.000
Now, this is important because what's the important aspect of the resurrection that we can apply for ourselves today?

47:22.000 --> 47:27.000
Well, you know, a lot of people think, well, once you get saved, you should just never desire to sin.

47:27.000 --> 47:30.000
You should always do right, right?

47:30.000 --> 47:32.000
You're just never going to sin.

47:32.000 --> 47:34.000
You're always going to do right.

47:34.000 --> 47:35.000
You're always going to obey God.

47:35.000 --> 47:37.000
But that's not a biblical doctrine.

47:37.000 --> 47:41.000
They often assert, well, once you get saved, you should just desire to do right.

47:41.000 --> 47:44.000
You're, you know, the true faith produces works.

47:44.000 --> 47:46.000
You're always going to do the right thing.

47:46.000 --> 47:47.000
Wrong.

47:47.000 --> 47:49.000
That's not that's not true at all.

47:49.000 --> 47:50.000
You know why?

47:50.000 --> 47:52.000
Because you're encapsulated in flesh.

47:52.000 --> 47:54.000
There's always going to be a battle.

47:54.000 --> 47:55.000
And you know what?

47:55.000 --> 48:01.000
Every Christian, listen to me, every Christian who saved knows for a fact that they have good days and they have bad days.

48:01.000 --> 48:02.000
That's a fact.

48:02.000 --> 48:06.000
And if you say, I never have a bad day, I'm just always victorious.

48:06.000 --> 48:13.000
You know, I think you're lying, you know, because I've been serving God for years and years.

48:13.000 --> 48:14.000
And you know what?

48:14.000 --> 48:15.000
I love the Lord.

48:15.000 --> 48:17.000
I've read the Bible many times.

48:17.000 --> 48:19.000
Like my full time job is the pastor.

48:19.000 --> 48:21.000
But let me just be transparent with you.

48:21.000 --> 48:22.000
I struggle as well.

48:22.000 --> 48:23.000
I battle the sin.

48:23.000 --> 48:25.000
I battle the flesh as well.

48:25.000 --> 48:26.000
Who doesn't?

48:26.000 --> 48:28.000
We're all sinful people.

48:28.000 --> 48:31.000
Doesn't mean that sin reigns over me.

48:31.000 --> 48:32.000
But you know what?

48:32.000 --> 48:36.000
I'm getting in the ring with sin, with the flesh every single day.

48:36.000 --> 48:39.000
I got the mouth guard on.

48:39.000 --> 48:41.000
I got the gloves on.

48:41.000 --> 48:43.000
And I'm fighting the old man every single day.

48:43.000 --> 48:45.000
And I'm just going to be honest with you.

48:45.000 --> 48:47.000
Sometimes the old man hooks me.

48:47.000 --> 48:49.000
Sometimes he drops.

48:49.000 --> 48:51.000
Sometimes he folds me.

48:51.000 --> 48:53.000
Sometimes I get folded like an omelet.

48:53.000 --> 48:54.000
I just fold.

48:54.000 --> 48:55.000
But you know what?

48:55.000 --> 48:57.000
I just got to get back up.

48:57.000 --> 48:58.000
He hits hard.

48:58.000 --> 49:01.000
You know, there's good days and there's bad days.

49:01.000 --> 49:02.000
You know what?

49:02.000 --> 49:09.000
We need to just be transparent here and not be some holier than now Christians to think, oh, saving faith produces worse.

49:09.000 --> 49:10.000
Really?

49:10.000 --> 49:12.000
How many works have you done today?

49:12.000 --> 49:13.000
Right?

49:13.000 --> 49:14.000
Right?

49:14.000 --> 49:17.000
Because that's not necessarily the case all the time now, is it?

49:17.000 --> 49:18.000
I'm all for doing works.

49:18.000 --> 49:20.000
Maintain good works.

49:20.000 --> 49:21.000
Key word there.

49:21.000 --> 49:23.000
Maintain.

49:23.000 --> 49:25.000
Means you have to put in the effort to try to maintain.

49:25.000 --> 49:29.000
The maintenance of Christianity is to do the good works.

49:29.000 --> 49:30.000
But let me just be honest with you.

49:30.000 --> 49:33.000
It's not going to happen 100% of the time.

49:33.000 --> 49:36.000
The goal is to just have more good days than bad though.

49:36.000 --> 49:37.000
Right?

49:37.000 --> 49:42.000
The goal is to just ask the Lord to be filled with the Spirit, to walk in the Spirit, not fulfill the lust of the flesh,

49:42.000 --> 49:47.000
to not make provision for the flesh and just to do the best that we can to have our minds renewed,

49:47.000 --> 49:50.000
to make sure that we are subjecting the flesh.

49:50.000 --> 49:55.000
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body that you should obey in the lust thereof.

49:55.000 --> 49:58.000
Neither yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin,

49:58.000 --> 50:05.000
but yield yourselves unto God as those that are alive from the dead and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

50:05.000 --> 50:06.000
That should be the goal.

50:06.000 --> 50:07.000
Right?

50:07.000 --> 50:09.000
To just constantly try to subject the flesh.

50:09.000 --> 50:10.000
But let's just be honest.

50:10.000 --> 50:13.000
Someone cuts you off in the freeway.

50:13.000 --> 50:15.000
You're not always going to be Spirit-filled.

50:18.000 --> 50:20.000
Some of you come into church today.

50:20.000 --> 50:23.000
Right?

50:23.000 --> 50:25.000
You know, at work.

50:25.000 --> 50:27.000
Got a personal testimony right there.

50:27.000 --> 50:29.000
You know, at work.

50:29.000 --> 50:33.000
You're going to have instances in your marriage.

50:33.000 --> 50:36.000
And you look, anybody who's married, you know, like, actually, this is true.

50:36.000 --> 50:38.000
I'm not always Spirit-filled.

50:38.000 --> 50:40.000
My spouse is not always Spirit-filled either.

50:40.000 --> 50:42.000
Yeah, because we're sinners.

50:42.000 --> 50:43.000
Just how it is.

50:43.000 --> 50:44.000
No one's perfect.

50:44.000 --> 50:45.000
And you know what?

50:45.000 --> 50:51.000
I'm tired of these pastors in these churches that are constantly condemning others for not just being 100% godly all the time.

50:51.000 --> 50:53.000
It's non-existent.

50:53.000 --> 50:55.000
It's not real.

50:55.000 --> 50:56.000
You know what the reality is this?

50:56.000 --> 50:58.000
It's a fight.

50:58.000 --> 51:00.000
You have to fight.

51:00.000 --> 51:07.000
You have to fight the old man and subjugate him and throw kicks and punches and throw some bows and stuff.

51:07.000 --> 51:12.000
And throw some bows in there and throw some knees and get down and dirty and double-a.

51:12.000 --> 51:14.000
It's a battle.

51:14.000 --> 51:15.000
You know what?

51:15.000 --> 51:17.000
Sometimes he sleeps you.

51:17.000 --> 51:21.000
But you just wake up and you get up and you're like, another round.

51:21.000 --> 51:23.000
And it's unfortunate because a lot of Christians, you know what happens?

51:23.000 --> 51:24.000
They get slept.

51:24.000 --> 51:26.000
They just stay down.

51:26.000 --> 51:29.000
They're just like, I don't want to fight.

51:29.000 --> 51:30.000
Right?

51:30.000 --> 51:32.000
They just become weak.

51:32.000 --> 51:34.000
And they're, you know, yeah, they're busted up.

51:34.000 --> 51:35.000
But they're just like throwing the towel.

51:35.000 --> 51:36.000
I'd rather not.

51:36.000 --> 51:37.000
They just tap out.

51:37.000 --> 51:38.000
They just give up.

51:38.000 --> 51:43.000
And look, when the flesh has me in a rear naked choke, I just go to sleep.

51:43.000 --> 51:45.000
I'm not going to tap.

51:45.000 --> 51:49.000
I'd just be like, I'd just go to sleep.

51:49.000 --> 51:51.000
Wake up and fight again.

51:51.000 --> 51:53.000
But you know what the problem is with a lot of Christians?

51:53.000 --> 51:54.000
They just tap out.

51:54.000 --> 51:56.000
And then they're just like, I don't want to fight anymore.

51:56.000 --> 51:58.000
I don't want to fight.

51:58.000 --> 51:59.000
I'd rather not just fight it.

51:59.000 --> 52:02.000
Yeah, that's why you become spiritually weak.

52:02.000 --> 52:05.000
Why was this to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might?

52:05.000 --> 52:08.000
And obviously there's things we have to do to help us to be strong in the Lord.

52:08.000 --> 52:12.000
We've got to be in a church that is constantly exhorting us to continue in the faith.

52:12.000 --> 52:16.000
It's exhorting us to continue in the grace of God.

52:16.000 --> 52:17.000
We've got to be reading the Bible.

52:17.000 --> 52:20.000
We've got to do everything that we can to give us a winning chance.

52:20.000 --> 52:21.000
Right?

52:21.000 --> 52:27.000
But the point that I'm making here is that, folks, this battle will last forever until we die.

52:27.000 --> 52:30.000
It's never going to let up.

52:30.000 --> 52:35.000
You know, I've been a Christian since 2007, serving God, reading the Bible.

52:35.000 --> 52:38.000
And that dude is still there.

52:38.000 --> 52:41.000
Like Bruce Mejia back in the day, he's still there.

52:41.000 --> 52:43.000
That little punk is still there.

52:43.000 --> 52:48.000
You know, I could be just having a good week, memorizing scripture, winning people to Christ.

52:48.000 --> 52:49.000
Just everything's hunky dory.

52:49.000 --> 52:53.000
And then he just pops in his ugly little head.

52:53.000 --> 52:57.000
And he's just like, this little corpse just pops up and he's like, he's still there.

52:57.000 --> 52:59.000
And he still wants to fight.

52:59.000 --> 53:02.000
And he still wants to throw down.

53:02.000 --> 53:06.000
And you know, I'm not going to be like, hey, can we just, can we work out an agreement here?

53:06.000 --> 53:10.000
You get Monday through, you get Monday through Saturday, just give me Sunday.

53:10.000 --> 53:11.000
Right?

53:11.000 --> 53:16.000
You can have, you can reign over me Monday through Saturday, but just let me have Sundays when I go to church.

53:16.000 --> 53:17.000
No!

53:17.000 --> 53:19.000
You get nothing.

53:19.000 --> 53:22.000
You want Monday through Saturday over my dead body.

53:22.000 --> 53:24.000
You've got to fight it.

53:24.000 --> 53:26.000
So what does this have to do with the resurrection?

53:26.000 --> 53:32.000
The glorification of the body, my friends, is the only time we will not struggle with sin.

53:32.000 --> 53:37.000
The resurrection is the solution to our sin problem.

53:37.000 --> 53:42.000
You see, the moment of salvation is the solution to hell.

53:42.000 --> 53:44.000
So we don't go to hell.

53:44.000 --> 53:47.000
We believed on the Lord Jesus Christ to avoid the flames of hell.

53:47.000 --> 53:49.000
Our spirit is saved.

53:49.000 --> 53:50.000
It is sinless.

53:50.000 --> 53:53.000
The spirit is sinless.

53:53.000 --> 53:55.000
But this is not though.

53:55.000 --> 53:57.000
This is corruptible.

53:57.000 --> 53:59.000
This is natural.

53:59.000 --> 54:03.000
This right here desires to commit sin.

54:03.000 --> 54:05.000
For in me, that is in my flesh.

54:05.000 --> 54:06.000
Listen to this.

54:06.000 --> 54:07.000
Dwelleth in me.

54:07.000 --> 54:08.000
No good thing.

54:08.000 --> 54:09.000
That's what the Bible says.

54:09.000 --> 54:10.000
So you know what God did?

54:10.000 --> 54:11.000
He created a solution for it.

54:11.000 --> 54:14.000
And he said the resurrection.

54:14.000 --> 54:21.000
He says in verse 50 again, now this I say to you, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.

54:21.000 --> 54:26.000
Now in Galatians chapter 5, it gives a list of the works of the flesh.

54:26.000 --> 54:29.000
And it says that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

54:29.000 --> 54:30.000
Why is that?

54:30.000 --> 54:33.000
Because the flesh is the one responsible for the works of the flesh.

54:33.000 --> 54:40.000
And this is why the Bible says that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, which is why we need the resurrection.

54:40.000 --> 54:42.000
This body will not inherit the kingdom of God.

54:42.000 --> 54:47.000
This physical body, the body that I'm currently in right now, will not inherit the kingdom of God.

54:47.000 --> 54:48.000
You know what it has to do?

54:48.000 --> 54:49.000
It has to die.

54:49.000 --> 54:52.000
I have to die.

54:52.000 --> 54:54.000
I have to be buried.

54:54.000 --> 54:55.000
That's part of the process.

54:55.000 --> 54:57.000
I have to die.

54:57.000 --> 54:58.000
I have to be buried.

54:58.000 --> 55:00.000
And one day I will resurrect glorified.

55:00.000 --> 55:01.000
OK.

55:01.000 --> 55:04.000
And obviously, you know, we're not excited to die.

55:04.000 --> 55:07.000
You know, I'm not afraid of death.

55:07.000 --> 55:10.000
I don't fear death because I know that I'm saved.

55:10.000 --> 55:12.000
I just fear like the vehicle that I take to dying.

55:12.000 --> 55:13.000
You know what I mean?

55:13.000 --> 55:14.000
Like, I don't know.

55:14.000 --> 55:15.000
How's that going to play out?

55:16.000 --> 55:17.000
Like, I'm not afraid of dying.

55:17.000 --> 55:19.000
I know where I'm going to die.

55:19.000 --> 55:22.000
It's just like, how is that going to play out, though?

55:22.000 --> 55:23.000
Is it going to be painful?

55:23.000 --> 55:24.000
Is it going to be quick?

55:24.000 --> 55:28.000
We're like, well, you know, I don't want to know, but I kind of want to know, you know?

55:28.000 --> 55:33.000
Here's the thing, folks, is that, yeah, flesh and blood should not inherit the kingdom of God, which is why we need the resurrection.

55:33.000 --> 55:37.000
He says, now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.

55:37.000 --> 55:41.000
Neither does corruption inherit incorruption.

55:41.000 --> 55:42.000
Verse 51.

55:42.000 --> 55:44.000
Behold, I show you a mystery.

55:44.000 --> 55:49.000
We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.

55:49.000 --> 55:57.000
He says, in the moment in the twinkling of an eye at the last Trump for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible.

55:57.000 --> 56:00.000
And we shall be changed.

56:00.000 --> 56:01.000
What is that talking about?

56:01.000 --> 56:02.000
Glorification.

56:03.000 --> 56:09.000
You know, we may have someone in our church right now like I struggle with sin every single day.

56:09.000 --> 56:12.000
I struggle with certain addiction every single day.

56:12.000 --> 56:13.000
It's a battle for me.

56:13.000 --> 56:15.000
Well, one day you will not battle that anymore.

56:17.000 --> 56:18.000
Never.

56:18.000 --> 56:21.000
It will no longer be present because of the resurrection.

56:21.000 --> 56:23.000
You will be changed.

56:23.000 --> 56:24.000
The Bible says.

56:24.000 --> 56:25.000
Verse 53.

56:25.000 --> 56:30.000
For this corruptible must put on in corruption and this mortal must put on immortality.

56:30.000 --> 56:38.000
So when this corruptible shall put on in corruption and this mortal shall put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the same that is written.

56:38.000 --> 56:41.000
Death is swallowed up in victory.

56:41.000 --> 56:42.000
So what do we see here?

56:42.000 --> 56:55.000
We see that the doctrines that are tied to the resurrection is the doctrine of salvation, the bodily resurrection, eternal damnation, the rapture, the millennial reign, the doctrine of glorification.

56:55.000 --> 56:57.000
And then lastly, let me just say this and I'm done.

56:58.000 --> 57:02.000
Because all this is true, you know, we do have purpose to life.

57:02.000 --> 57:04.000
Let me give you the encouraging part of the sermon now.

57:04.000 --> 57:08.000
OK, you know, we there's there's like something to live for now.

57:09.000 --> 57:11.000
Because sometimes, you know, life can get hard.

57:11.000 --> 57:12.000
It can get difficult.

57:12.000 --> 57:14.000
Can get stressful.

57:14.000 --> 57:17.000
You know, some of you right now are thinking about the stresses that are coming this week.

57:17.000 --> 57:19.000
Stresses that happened last week.

57:19.000 --> 57:21.000
Pressures that you're experiencing.

57:21.000 --> 57:26.000
And some of you might be going through a time where it's just like, I'm just kind of tired of just life in general.

57:26.000 --> 57:30.000
I'm going through a difficult time like the bills aren't being paid.

57:30.000 --> 57:31.000
My health is bad.

57:31.000 --> 57:33.000
My relationships are not the best.

57:33.000 --> 57:35.000
You know, well, here's the thing.

57:35.000 --> 57:36.000
You have the resurrection to look forward to.

57:36.000 --> 57:38.000
And look what the Bible says in verse 57.

57:38.000 --> 57:43.000
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

57:43.000 --> 57:53.000
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord for as much as you know that your labor is not in vain of the Lord.

57:53.000 --> 57:58.000
In other words, now knowing what the resurrection has to offer, you better start serving God.

58:00.000 --> 58:03.000
You better make sure that you are unmovable.

58:03.000 --> 58:04.000
Unmovable.

58:04.000 --> 58:13.000
You know, when the world tries to move you out of church, when Satan is trying to move you into sin, when Satan is trying to break you down, be unmovable.

58:13.000 --> 58:16.000
Take a knee if you have to, but don't move.

58:16.000 --> 58:20.000
Wine a little bit if you have to, but don't move.

58:20.000 --> 58:23.000
Weep a little bit, but don't move.

58:23.000 --> 58:25.000
Be steadfast, unmovable.

58:25.000 --> 58:26.000
And here's the key.

58:26.000 --> 58:29.000
Always abounding in the work of the Lord.

58:29.000 --> 58:30.000
You need all of these.

58:30.000 --> 58:33.000
It's not just a matter of being unmovable and being steadfast.

58:33.000 --> 58:36.000
The Bible says you have to abound in the work of the Lord.

58:36.000 --> 58:37.000
You know what that means?

58:37.000 --> 58:38.000
Serve God.

58:38.000 --> 58:40.000
How do I serve God?

58:40.000 --> 58:42.000
Well, in this church, we do evangelism.

58:42.000 --> 58:43.000
We do soul winning.

58:43.000 --> 58:47.000
We'll teach you how to preach the gospel, and then you can get to work.

58:47.000 --> 58:49.000
That's what the Bible says.

58:49.000 --> 58:54.000
And it says here we should do these things because we know that our labor is not in vain in the Lord.

58:54.000 --> 58:56.000
You know, there's a lot of vain things today.

58:56.000 --> 58:58.000
You may have a business.

58:58.000 --> 58:59.000
You may have a job.

58:59.000 --> 59:00.000
And it pays the bills.

59:00.000 --> 59:03.000
But in light of eternity, it's vain.

59:03.000 --> 59:06.000
You may have accumulated a lot of wealth.

59:06.000 --> 59:10.000
But in comparison to eternity, it's all vain.

59:10.000 --> 59:13.000
I'm not saying, you know, just throw it all away.

59:13.000 --> 59:19.000
I'm just saying, like, eternally, compared to what eternity is, it is all vain.

59:19.000 --> 59:21.000
You know, I like to exercise.

59:21.000 --> 59:22.000
I know I don't look out of it.

59:22.000 --> 59:27.000
But, you know, I like to lift and do squats and deadlifts and take care of myself.

59:27.000 --> 59:30.000
But let's just be honest, it is all in vain.

59:30.000 --> 59:34.000
Because no amount of weight that I move will ever keep me out of the grave, right?

59:34.000 --> 59:36.000
I'm going to go to the grave one day.

59:36.000 --> 59:42.000
No amount of calorie deficit that I'm in or no amount of protein that I consume,

59:42.000 --> 59:46.000
no amount of fat that I have, no amount of, you know, steroids.

59:46.000 --> 59:47.000
I don't do steroids.

59:47.000 --> 59:51.000
No amount of steroids that you do will keep you out of the grave.

59:51.000 --> 59:54.000
In fact, some steroids will put you in the grave faster than others, you know.

59:54.000 --> 59:59.000
No amount of whatever you're doing will ever prevent you from the grave.

59:59.000 --> 01:00:02.000
You will go there one day.

01:00:02.000 --> 01:00:04.000
Because all that is vain.

01:00:04.000 --> 01:00:06.000
I'm not saying don't do it, except for the steroids.

01:00:06.000 --> 01:00:09.000
You know, I'm not saying don't eat healthy.

01:00:09.000 --> 01:00:11.000
I'm not saying don't exercise.

01:00:11.000 --> 01:00:15.000
I'm not saying don't accumulate wealth and pay your bills and be successful.

01:00:15.000 --> 01:00:18.000
You know, these are temporary things, though.

01:00:18.000 --> 01:00:20.000
And they will not last.

01:00:20.000 --> 01:00:23.000
Hey, young people, your youth, not going to last.

01:00:23.000 --> 01:00:25.000
You're going to get old.

01:00:25.000 --> 01:00:27.000
You're going to get wrinkly.

01:00:27.000 --> 01:00:30.000
I got to say this with my, I got to look at the ceiling as I say this.

01:00:30.000 --> 01:00:32.000
You know, you're going to get wrinkly.

01:00:32.000 --> 01:00:33.000
You're going to become gray-headed.

01:00:33.000 --> 01:00:34.000
You're going to lose your hair.

01:00:34.000 --> 01:00:36.000
You know, we all get old.

01:00:36.000 --> 01:00:37.000
That's what it is.

01:00:37.000 --> 01:00:38.000
That's how the body is.

01:00:38.000 --> 01:00:39.000
That's the reality of things.

01:00:39.000 --> 01:00:40.000
Why?

01:00:40.000 --> 01:00:42.000
Because life is vanity.

01:00:42.000 --> 01:00:48.000
However, though, however, our labor is not in vain in the Lord, though.

01:00:49.000 --> 01:00:55.000
Like what you do for the Lord Jesus Christ will last forever.

01:00:55.000 --> 01:00:57.000
You say, how do I know?

01:00:57.000 --> 01:00:59.000
Because of the resurrection.

01:00:59.000 --> 01:01:00.000
Say, why do you serve God?

01:01:00.000 --> 01:01:02.000
Why do you put out all these videos?

01:01:02.000 --> 01:01:04.000
Why do you install us to Christ?

01:01:04.000 --> 01:01:06.000
For the resurrection.

01:01:06.000 --> 01:01:11.000
Why is it so important to you to preach these truths and put that out there for everyone

01:01:11.000 --> 01:01:14.000
and train people how to sow and have church service?

01:01:14.000 --> 01:01:15.000
I'll tell you why.

01:01:15.000 --> 01:01:16.000
Because of the resurrection.

01:01:16.000 --> 01:01:17.000
That's why.

01:01:17.000 --> 01:01:20.000
Because my labor is never in vain in the Lord.

01:01:20.000 --> 01:01:22.000
And you may not get a thank you from me.

01:01:22.000 --> 01:01:23.000
You may not get a thank you from someone else.

01:01:23.000 --> 01:01:25.000
You may not get a thank you from anybody.

01:01:25.000 --> 01:01:27.000
But your labor is still not in vain in the Lord.

01:01:27.000 --> 01:01:28.000
You know why?

01:01:28.000 --> 01:01:30.000
Because God keeps the receipts.

01:01:30.000 --> 01:01:32.000
He's tracking everything.

01:01:32.000 --> 01:01:34.000
He's tracking every little cup of water.

01:01:34.000 --> 01:01:36.000
Every little salvation.

01:01:36.000 --> 01:01:37.000
Every little time you serve God.

01:01:37.000 --> 01:01:38.000
He's keeping track of it.

01:01:38.000 --> 01:01:42.000
And it's accumulating in heaven at the resurrection.

01:01:42.000 --> 01:01:44.000
What are we talking about this morning?

01:01:44.000 --> 01:01:45.000
Talk about the doctrine of the resurrection.

01:01:45.000 --> 01:01:47.000
I mean today is resurrection Sunday.

01:01:47.000 --> 01:01:49.000
Today is Easter.

01:01:49.000 --> 01:01:50.000
And you know what?

01:01:50.000 --> 01:01:54.000
It's important for us to emphasize the doctrine of the resurrection.

01:01:54.000 --> 01:02:00.000
Knowing full well that salvation not only brings about the justification of the soul.

01:02:00.000 --> 01:02:04.000
But it eventually brings about the justification.

01:02:04.000 --> 01:02:07.000
The redemption of the body as well.

01:02:07.000 --> 01:02:08.000
Amen?

01:02:08.000 --> 01:02:09.000
Let's pray.

01:02:09.000 --> 01:02:10.000
Father, we thank you so much for your word.

01:02:10.000 --> 01:02:11.000
Thank you for the resurrection.

01:02:11.000 --> 01:02:14.000
Lord, I pray that if there's anybody in here who does not know beyond a shadow of a doubt

01:02:14.000 --> 01:02:15.000
that they're saved.

01:02:15.000 --> 01:02:17.000
That they have eternal life.

01:02:17.000 --> 01:02:19.000
We're not talking about 99% sure.

01:02:19.000 --> 01:02:21.000
We're talking about if they don't know beyond a shadow of a doubt.

01:02:21.000 --> 01:02:23.000
Lord, that they're saved.

01:02:23.000 --> 01:02:25.000
I pray that they would get that settled today.

01:02:25.000 --> 01:02:27.000
Thank you so much for the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

01:02:27.000 --> 01:02:29.000
The first fruits of the resurrection.

01:02:29.000 --> 01:02:33.000
Then we which are his at his coming, Lord.

01:02:33.000 --> 01:02:36.000
And Lord, there's so many vain things in this world today.

01:02:36.000 --> 01:02:40.000
That we as your people sometimes get involved in.

01:02:40.000 --> 01:02:42.000
We entangle ourselves with the affairs of this life.

01:02:42.000 --> 01:02:45.000
I pray and ask that you help us, Lord, as your people.

01:02:45.000 --> 01:02:49.000
To recognize that our labor for you is not in vain.

01:02:49.000 --> 01:02:51.000
And you will recompense us at the regeneration.

01:02:51.000 --> 01:02:52.000
Which is the resurrection.

01:02:52.000 --> 01:02:53.000
We love you and we thank you.

01:02:53.000 --> 01:02:54.000
Pray this thing is in Jesus' name.

01:02:54.000 --> 01:02:55.000
Amen.

01:02:55.000 --> 01:03:03.000
Please turn your songbooks to song number 27.

01:03:03.000 --> 01:03:08.000
Song number 27.

01:03:08.000 --> 01:03:11.000
The old rugged cross.
