18:10.500 --> 18:18.500
We always have enough to serve you. The pure heart is always true for victory. There's not ever a quench we have more.

18:40.500 --> 19:06.500
Welcome back everybody. Go ahead and take your Bibles and turn to Exodus chapter 12.

19:06.500 --> 19:15.500
Exodus 12 will be our text this afternoon and as everybody knows here at our church we read the entire chapter before the preaching.

19:15.500 --> 19:26.500
Exodus chapter 12 the Bible reads, And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,

19:26.500 --> 19:34.500
This month shall be unto you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you.

19:34.500 --> 19:38.500
Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying,

19:38.500 --> 19:48.500
In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house.

19:48.500 --> 19:58.500
And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls.

19:58.500 --> 20:03.500
Every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

20:03.500 --> 20:08.500
Your lamb shall be without blemish a male of the first year.

20:08.500 --> 20:19.500
You shall take it out of out from the sheep or from the goats, and ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month.

20:19.500 --> 20:24.500
And the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

20:24.500 --> 20:34.500
And they shall take of the blood and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper doorpost of the houses wherein they shall eat it.

20:34.500 --> 20:45.500
And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire and unleavened bread, and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

20:45.500 --> 20:56.500
Eat not of it raw nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire, his head with his legs and with the pertinence thereof.

20:56.500 --> 21:06.500
And ye shall eat and ye shall let nothing of it remain unto the morning, and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.

21:06.500 --> 21:17.500
And thus shall ye eat it with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand, and ye shall eat it in haste.

21:17.500 --> 21:28.500
It is the Lord's Passover. For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast.

21:28.500 --> 21:34.500
And against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment. I am the Lord.

21:34.500 --> 21:40.500
And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are.

21:40.500 --> 21:50.500
And when I see the blood I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you when I smite the land of Egypt.

21:50.500 --> 21:58.500
And this day shall be unto you for a memorial, and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations.

21:58.500 --> 22:05.500
Ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance forever. Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread.

22:05.500 --> 22:18.500
Even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses. For whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day unto the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

22:18.500 --> 22:29.500
And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation. And in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you.

22:29.500 --> 22:38.500
No manner of work shall be done in them save that which every man must eat. That only may be done of you.

22:38.500 --> 22:47.500
And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread. For in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt.

22:47.500 --> 22:53.500
Therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance forever.

22:54.500 --> 23:06.500
In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at even ye shall eat unleavened bread until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.

23:06.500 --> 23:19.500
Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses. For whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel.

23:19.500 --> 23:29.500
Whether he be a stranger or born in the land, ye shall eat nothing leavened. In all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.

23:29.500 --> 23:39.500
Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families and kill the Passover.

23:39.500 --> 23:52.500
And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood that is in the basin and strike the lentil and the two side posts with the blood that is in the basin.

23:52.500 --> 24:02.500
And none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning. For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians.

24:02.500 --> 24:16.500
And when he seeth the blood upon the lentil and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

24:16.500 --> 24:33.500
And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons forever. And it shall come to pass when ye be come to the land which the Lord will give you according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.

24:33.500 --> 24:50.500
And it shall come to pass when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service? That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the Lord's Passover who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt.

24:50.500 --> 25:05.500
When he smote the Egyptians and delivered our houses and the people bowed the head and worshiped and the children of Israel went away and did as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.

25:05.500 --> 25:22.500
And it came to pass that at midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon and all the firstborn of cattle.

25:22.500 --> 25:35.500
And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians, and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.

25:35.500 --> 25:48.500
And he called for Moses and Aaron by night and said, Rise up and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel, and go serve the Lord as ye have said.

25:48.500 --> 25:55.500
Also take your flocks and your herds as ye have said, and be gone and bless me also.

25:55.500 --> 26:05.500
And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people that they might send them out of the land in haste, for they said, We be all dead men.

26:05.500 --> 26:13.500
And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their knee troughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.

26:13.500 --> 26:23.500
And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses, and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver and jewels of gold and raiment.

26:23.500 --> 26:31.500
And the Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required.

26:31.500 --> 26:34.500
And they spoiled the Egyptians.

26:34.500 --> 26:44.500
And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Sukkot, about 600,000 on foot that were men beside children.

26:44.500 --> 26:51.500
And a mixed multitude went up also with them, and flocks and herds, even very much cattle.

26:51.500 --> 27:02.500
And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened, because they were thrust out of Egypt and could not tarry.

27:02.500 --> 27:06.500
Neither had they prepared for themselves any victual.

27:06.500 --> 27:13.500
Now the sojourning of the children of Israel who dwelt in Egypt was 430 years.

27:13.500 --> 27:24.500
And it came to pass at the end of the 430 years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.

27:24.500 --> 27:32.500
It is a night to be much observed unto the Lord, for bringing them out from the land of Egypt.

27:32.500 --> 27:39.500
This is that night of the Lord to be observed of all the children of Israel and their generations.

27:39.500 --> 27:46.500
And the Lord said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the Passover.

27:46.500 --> 27:57.500
There shall no stranger eat thereof, but every man servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.

27:57.500 --> 28:04.500
A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof. In one house shall it be eaten.

28:04.500 --> 28:12.500
Thou shalt not carry forth aught of the flesh abroad out of the house, neither shall ye break a bone thereof.

28:12.500 --> 28:26.500
All the congregation of Israel shall keep it, and when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the Passover to the Lord, let all his males be circumcised, and then let them come near and keep it.

28:26.500 --> 28:33.500
And he shall be as one that is born in the land, for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.

28:33.500 --> 28:40.500
One law shall be to him that is home born, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.

28:40.500 --> 28:46.500
Thus did all the children of Israel. As the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

28:46.500 --> 28:55.500
And it came to pass the self-same day that the Lord did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.

28:55.500 --> 28:58.500
Brother Jason, could you please pray for the service?

28:58.500 --> 29:03.500
I thank you for this day, Lord, and I thank you for being with us, Lord, and I thank you for this Easter weekend.

29:03.500 --> 29:10.500
Will you please open our ears and hear the word of your name, Amen.

29:10.500 --> 29:14.500
Amen.

29:14.500 --> 29:25.500
All right, amen. All right, so we just covered Exodus 12, and as you know, this is the great story of basically how the children of Egypt, after so many plagues, they have one more.

29:25.500 --> 29:38.500
It was God's wrath coming upon Egypt, where he took the first born of all that was in Egypt, unless they had the blood of the lamb covering their doorposts, which caused the wrath of God to pass over those doors.

29:38.500 --> 29:43.500
This is where we get the word pass over from in the English language.

29:43.500 --> 29:46.500
But it is very important. Keep your place there in Exodus 12.

29:46.500 --> 29:50.500
We will be calling back, and that will be pretty much a study through many of this chapter.

29:50.500 --> 29:55.500
But before I begin, I want to read 1 Corinthians 5, 1 Corinthians 5.

29:55.500 --> 29:59.500
In 1 Corinthians 5, in verse 6, it says,

30:20.500 --> 30:29.500
So the first thing I want to just start off with is understand this.

30:29.500 --> 30:32.500
The Old Testament was to give a shadow of things to come.

30:32.500 --> 30:38.500
And a lot of the stories, even though they had practical purposes within the stories, a lot of it was to teach us spiritual things.

30:38.500 --> 30:40.500
And let me just start off here.

30:40.500 --> 30:43.500
The Passover was all pointer Christ.

30:43.500 --> 30:44.500
All of it.

30:44.500 --> 30:49.500
Every single part of it in some way was giving you an aspect of basically who Christ was,

30:49.500 --> 30:53.500
what he was going to go through, and why he was going to go through what he did.

30:53.500 --> 30:55.500
And that is what we celebrate today.

30:55.500 --> 31:04.500
But I wanted to talk about the old Passover today and how that was all just leading up to Christ to symbolize what he would do.

31:04.500 --> 31:10.500
And you're back in Exodus 12. Exodus 12, look down at verse 5.

31:10.500 --> 31:12.500
In verse 5 it says,

31:19.500 --> 31:23.500
So understand that there are so many items about the Passover, which is about purity.

31:23.500 --> 31:25.500
It's about a sinless life.

31:25.500 --> 31:33.500
We know that if you were to sacrifice to God, he doesn't want the weak, sickly, slant that you're going to probably kill anyway,

31:33.500 --> 31:36.500
because you just don't want it in your herd. You don't even want to bother to take care of it.

31:36.500 --> 31:39.500
No, he wants the best. He wants the most precious.

31:39.500 --> 31:42.500
And the other parts of the Bible it says without blemish.

31:42.500 --> 31:49.500
And just as sin spots and blemishes are very, are soul, he wants us to be, the sacrifice should be pure.

31:49.500 --> 31:51.500
It should be perfect.

31:51.500 --> 31:53.500
And I already read in 1 Corinthians where it basically says,

31:53.500 --> 31:57.500
the reason why they have unleavened bread is leaven is a symbol of sin.

31:57.500 --> 32:00.500
And just a little bit into your life will go throughout.

32:00.500 --> 32:02.500
It will eventually move throughout.

32:02.500 --> 32:04.500
And any of those that bake, no.

32:04.500 --> 32:08.500
If you give enough time, a little leaven will make the entire loaf leaven.

32:08.500 --> 32:10.500
So it's just many parts, but it's here.

32:10.500 --> 32:14.500
The very first thing is, the lamb should be spotless.

32:14.500 --> 32:16.500
Now what's interesting here is if you read the entire Bible,

32:16.500 --> 32:19.500
we encourage you every year to go through the entire Bible,

32:19.500 --> 32:22.500
you should understand it's not just one lamb.

32:22.500 --> 32:27.500
Throughout the Bible you have symbols pointing towards the lamb.

32:27.500 --> 32:31.500
And the other thing is you look down there, look down at verse 6.

32:31.500 --> 32:37.500
Actually hold on, let me just quickly say, the lamb.

32:37.500 --> 32:41.500
You have Genesis, what did Abel bring? A lamb.

32:41.500 --> 32:44.500
Passover, you must keep it, a lamb.

32:44.500 --> 32:47.500
Throughout the sin offerings you got goat, sheep, lambs,

32:47.500 --> 32:49.500
but it was a perfect sacrifice.

32:49.500 --> 32:53.500
And throughout many places Jesus is referred to as our lamb.

32:53.500 --> 32:56.500
He is our Passover lamb, as even we read this morning.

32:56.500 --> 33:00.500
It's just important to understand, God uses symbols over and over again,

33:00.500 --> 33:03.500
so you cannot deny this if you are a believer.

33:03.500 --> 33:07.500
It is incredible when you hear some of the Jewish fables

33:07.500 --> 33:10.500
on how they interpret this, like, oh no, it's not pointing to anything else,

33:10.500 --> 33:12.500
that's just the only thing it is.

33:12.500 --> 33:15.500
Weird, it's all pointing there, and Jesus was the lamb of God.

33:15.500 --> 33:17.500
It all goes together.

33:17.500 --> 33:20.500
In verse 6 it says,

33:20.500 --> 33:23.500
And ye shall keep it unto the fourteenth day of the same month

33:23.500 --> 33:26.500
as the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel,

33:26.500 --> 33:29.500
and shall kill it in the evening.

33:29.500 --> 33:32.500
It's very important that the lamb, the perfect lamb,

33:32.500 --> 33:34.500
is killed in the evening of this day.

33:34.500 --> 33:36.500
And jump down to verse 18, it says,

33:36.500 --> 33:39.500
In the first month of the fourteenth day of the month, at even,

33:39.500 --> 33:45.500
ye shall eat the unleavened bread until one and twenty days of the month of even.

33:45.500 --> 33:50.500
Passover, here's the thing is, Jesus was killed in the evening.

33:50.500 --> 33:52.500
It's very important that he symbolizes this.

33:52.500 --> 33:56.500
And if you understand, Jesus, when he gives the ordinance of communion,

33:56.500 --> 33:59.500
what are they doing at that time?

33:59.500 --> 34:03.500
He's upholding the Passover.

34:03.500 --> 34:06.500
It says, go before and make the Passover.

34:06.500 --> 34:10.500
It's amazing because God said in time, basically when his son would die,

34:10.500 --> 34:14.500
what's crazy is some people say these are just two separate holidays.

34:14.500 --> 34:16.500
I have actually heard that.

34:16.500 --> 34:19.500
There's Passover, which is a Jewish ritual,

34:19.500 --> 34:23.500
and then there's Easter, that's for the Christians, which is insane.

34:23.500 --> 34:26.500
Because Christ literally celebrated Passover,

34:26.500 --> 34:32.500
richly reminding you that the lamb will be sacrificed so the wrath of God can bypass you.

34:32.500 --> 34:38.500
He literally did that for his disciples, and what immediately happened the next day?

34:38.500 --> 34:42.500
He was sacrificed for the whole world.

34:42.500 --> 34:46.500
The timing was that, thousand years before.

34:46.500 --> 34:49.500
It's not that God was unknown of what was going to happen.

34:49.500 --> 34:54.500
It wasn't like, well, Plan B failed, Plan B failed, Plan C failed.

34:54.500 --> 34:57.500
Well, I guess we'll try Plan D, which will be the Christians.

34:57.500 --> 34:59.500
We'll just fit it in somehow.

34:59.500 --> 35:01.500
No, it was planned from the beginning.

35:01.500 --> 35:06.500
God was always showing you that perfect lamb would be sacrificed, and the time was set.

35:06.500 --> 35:08.500
Christ even said the whole thing.

35:08.500 --> 35:10.500
Why, I think he had, he held up the Passover.

35:10.500 --> 35:12.500
Could he have died in the other day of the year?

35:12.500 --> 35:14.500
He could have, but that would have broken the picture.

35:14.500 --> 35:18.500
He literally held Passover to be realized, hey, think back to what God did.

35:18.500 --> 35:25.500
Hey, Passover was held because God's wrath did not come down to Egypt because of the blood of the lamb.

35:25.500 --> 35:28.500
Let me tell you, the blood of a lamb did not save them.

35:28.500 --> 35:30.500
It was the grace of God.

35:30.500 --> 35:35.500
But he wanted to point to one last time he was the lamb of God before his disciples.

35:35.500 --> 35:42.500
That was the Passover he held and says, now, while we're holding the traditional Passover, let me give you a new ordinance.

35:42.500 --> 35:45.500
Because now you're not looking forward to the sacrifice of the lamb.

35:45.500 --> 35:49.500
You're going to look back, and that's the Lord's Supper that we continue today.

35:49.500 --> 35:51.500
That is the change.

35:51.500 --> 35:53.500
But the change happened there.

35:53.500 --> 35:56.500
He's telling you, remember me until I come before he's even gone.

35:56.500 --> 36:02.500
Because frankly, once he's taken, he can't teach a new ordinance in his bodily ministry.

36:02.500 --> 36:06.500
But he held that because the Passover was always pointed to him.

36:06.500 --> 36:08.500
And I think that's why it's very important.

36:08.500 --> 36:13.500
He had to hold it before he moved forward to his sacrifice.

36:13.500 --> 36:16.500
And here's the thing is, why is it called Passover?

36:16.500 --> 36:20.500
You're still in Exodus 12, I hope, because we'll be there all night.

36:20.500 --> 36:30.500
In verse 7, it says, And they shall take of the blood and strike it upon the two-side post in the upper door post of the house wherein they shall eat.

36:30.500 --> 36:37.500
So you take this spotless lamb, the pure lamb, you kill it, and you take its blood, and you literally put it across the door post.

36:37.500 --> 36:40.500
And of course, they're just told to do this, but it's later explained.

36:40.500 --> 36:52.500
If we jump down to verse 12, it says, For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night and will smite all the firstborn of the land of Egypt, both male and beast, and against all the gods of Egypt I will exude judgment.

36:52.500 --> 36:54.500
I am the Lord.

36:54.500 --> 37:05.500
Verse 13, And the blood shall be to you as a token, be for a token upon your house wherein ye are and wherein ye, when I see the blood, I will pass over.

37:05.500 --> 37:10.500
And the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you when I smite the land of Egypt.

37:10.500 --> 37:16.500
So understand this, God's last plague to finally get them to release, because God could kill everyone.

37:16.500 --> 37:20.500
He did it during the flood, but was that what he needed to point to?

37:20.500 --> 37:27.500
No. He needed to show God's wrath and poignance and basically break the will of Egypt by taking the firstborn.

37:27.500 --> 37:29.500
Why do you think he did the firstborn?

37:29.500 --> 37:32.500
Why is it that the firstborn is always dedicated to God?

37:32.500 --> 37:37.500
Many times he talks about the firstborn, because Christ is the firstborn.

37:41.500 --> 37:53.500
And that's just important to know, but here's the thing is, why it's called a Passover is because God's wrath passed over all those that had blood upon their mantle.

37:53.500 --> 37:55.500
So isn't it an interesting thing?

37:55.500 --> 38:01.500
In the Old Testament, the picture that points to the New Testament, because everything done in the Old Testament was for a symbol to us,

38:01.500 --> 38:06.500
how does God choose who his wrath will not touch? Is it the best working?

38:06.500 --> 38:11.500
Was it the most wealthy? Was it the ones that swept their house that day?

38:11.500 --> 38:18.500
No, it wasn't anything fleshly. The wrath of God came through and when he saw the blood, he just passed off by.

38:18.500 --> 38:23.500
Let me tell you, it didn't say, oh, it must be the blood in their veins. It must be a racial thing.

38:23.500 --> 38:29.500
No, it's not. During 400 years in Egypt, there was probably some mixing.

38:29.500 --> 38:32.500
You know what? People could join. People could follow.

38:32.500 --> 38:37.500
Isn't it interesting throughout multiple times the Bible says, hey, your servants who you raised in your household,

38:37.500 --> 38:43.500
it just assumes you got them saved and they join part of your house and they keep all the sacrifices as with the Jews.

38:43.500 --> 38:48.500
Because it is those that faith in God that practice with that is hopefully who would do that.

38:48.500 --> 38:54.500
But here, what's it say? The blood. The wrath of God sees the blood and that's what he passes by.

38:55.500 --> 39:00.500
Let me tell you this. Some people try to deny the power of Christ's blood.

39:00.500 --> 39:05.500
No, all the old things point to that. They point to Christ's sacrifice.

39:05.500 --> 39:12.500
It is Christ's blood of which the wrath will never touch us because when God's wrath comes, even the future,

39:12.500 --> 39:16.500
it is, are you anointed by Christ's blood? That means the wrath will bypass you.

39:16.500 --> 39:21.500
That is part of the picture of the Passover. It is so important to understand that.

39:21.500 --> 39:25.500
Keep a place there but turn to Hebrews 10. Hebrews 10.

39:25.500 --> 39:30.500
Because it is so important to understand why it is so special to remember even the Old Testament,

39:30.500 --> 39:37.500
how did God's wrath avoid people? It wasn't that it was the sacrificial blood that God saw that said,

39:37.500 --> 39:41.500
I'm not going to bring wrath upon this household. It wasn't interesting.

39:41.500 --> 39:48.500
You should look at it and go, you know, it wasn't that just there was one people that practiced that and saved everyone.

39:48.500 --> 39:53.500
It was down to the household. It's a personal thing.

39:53.500 --> 39:58.500
And why I say that, some people are like, well, you know, my uncle, my father was a pastor,

39:58.500 --> 40:02.500
my great-great-grandfather, I think he wrote a Bible once. I mean, I'm good.

40:02.500 --> 40:07.500
No, no, it's personal. And even though I don't think you need to get saved every year,

40:07.500 --> 40:13.500
understand the practice of Passover, your household needs to do it. You need to do it.

40:14.500 --> 40:18.500
They need, it was a personal decision if you're going to keep the Passover.

40:18.500 --> 40:22.500
And I don't think you need to get saved older or older again. I think that's breaking the picture.

40:22.500 --> 40:27.500
But the picture is this. It was a very personal thing. It came down to the household.

40:27.500 --> 40:31.500
Each household needs to do that. Let me tell you, you're like, oh, you know, my family lives mostly next door.

40:31.500 --> 40:38.500
They did. I'm good. They probably weren't good the next day because they didn't keep the word of God.

40:38.500 --> 40:42.500
They didn't have the faith to just dip the hip in there and just mark their door

40:42.500 --> 40:49.500
with the blood of the sacrifice. You need to keep that. And here's the thing, I turned to have you keep the Hebrews 10.

40:49.500 --> 40:54.500
Look down at verse one. For the law having a shadow of good things to come.

40:54.500 --> 40:59.500
Let me tell you, the law is the Old Testament. The law was the Bible that they had received at the time of Jesus.

40:59.500 --> 41:05.500
For the law having a shadow of good things to come and not the very image of the thing can never,

41:05.500 --> 41:11.500
with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually, make the coming thereunto perfect.

41:11.500 --> 41:20.500
For then would they have not ceased to be offered because that the worshiper once purged should have no more constants of sin.

41:20.500 --> 41:24.500
But in those sacrifices, there is a remembrance again made to sin every year.

41:24.500 --> 41:29.500
For it is not possible that the blood of bull and goats should take away sin.

41:29.500 --> 41:37.500
Wherefore, when he come into the world, he said, sacrifice and offerings thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared.

41:37.500 --> 41:41.500
In the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the sin thou hast no pleasure.

41:41.500 --> 41:48.500
Then I say, Lo, I come. In the volume of the books it is written of me, To do thy will, O God.

41:48.500 --> 41:56.500
Above when he said, sacrifice and offerings, and burnt offerings, and offerings for sin, thou wouldest not, neither hast pleasure therein,

41:56.500 --> 42:02.500
which are offered by the law. Then he said, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God.

42:02.500 --> 42:12.500
He taketh away the first, and he may establish the second, by the which we will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

42:12.500 --> 42:16.500
And I understand there was a lot, and you weren't following, basically what it's saying is this.

42:16.500 --> 42:20.500
All the old law was done to point towards Christ.

42:20.500 --> 42:25.500
And even though you'd sacrifice bulls and goats and all that, understand none of that took away your sin.

42:25.500 --> 42:31.500
But what it was showing, the sacrifice that would come to purge all of us was to Christ.

42:31.500 --> 42:37.500
And why the Old Testament is not kept anymore was it was an imperfect sign pointing towards Christ.

42:37.500 --> 42:42.500
And now that we have Christ, we keep the perfect faith of Christ moving forward.

42:42.500 --> 42:50.500
Because it was through his sacrifice and through the offering of his body that we are made one with God.

42:50.500 --> 42:53.500
That is the picture of the Old Testament.

42:53.500 --> 42:56.500
The Passover was just a very direct showing of that.

42:56.500 --> 43:03.500
The killing of the blemish lamb back then to put the blood over the death post was just pointing to what Christ would do.

43:03.500 --> 43:13.500
His death, his burial, his resurrection, he offering his blood on top of the holy tabernacle in God to atone for our sins.

43:13.500 --> 43:16.500
That is our salvation.

43:16.500 --> 43:18.500
That is what we need.

43:18.500 --> 43:20.500
Go back to Exodus 12.

43:20.500 --> 43:22.500
Just understand all the Old Testament was this way.

43:22.500 --> 43:24.500
It was a picture of things to come.

43:24.500 --> 43:26.500
It was a picture to Christ.

43:26.500 --> 43:29.500
Exodus 12 and verse 8.

43:29.500 --> 43:31.500
Exodus 12 and verse 8.

43:31.500 --> 43:41.500
In verse 8 it says, And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire and unleavened bread, and with a bitter herb they shall eat it.

43:41.500 --> 43:51.500
Eat not of it raw, nor sodden with all with water, but roast with fire, his head with his legs, and with the pertinence thereof.

43:51.500 --> 44:01.500
And yet there shall yet nothing of it remain until the morning, and that which remained until the morning ye shall burn with fire.

44:01.500 --> 44:08.500
So let me understand, like, if you focus on there, what is the punishment that this lamb is going through?

44:08.500 --> 44:10.500
You will burn it.

44:10.500 --> 44:14.500
You will saunen it with fire.

44:14.500 --> 44:16.500
You're not allowed to have it raw.

44:16.500 --> 44:17.500
You're not allowed to cook it.

44:17.500 --> 44:22.500
I don't know why you would boil meat, but, you know, we like it seared, all right?

44:22.500 --> 44:28.500
But I'm just saying, God literally says you will not saunen it with water, which you're not throwing it into a pot to make soup with it.

44:28.500 --> 44:34.500
You love lamb soup, you have 300 and many other days of the year to do that.

44:34.500 --> 44:36.500
But what it's saying is you will take the whole lamb.

44:36.500 --> 44:42.500
It even says to the foot and the head, you will burn it with fire.

44:42.500 --> 44:45.500
And then you will consume the entire sacrifice.

44:45.500 --> 44:51.500
And if your family can't consume it all, you burn it all because it is a whole burnt sacrifice for you.

44:51.500 --> 44:54.500
And it is very important.

44:54.500 --> 44:56.500
And he literally said, this is how you will do it.

44:56.500 --> 45:00.500
Understand, you will burn it with fire.

45:00.500 --> 45:03.500
Keep your place and turn to Acts 2.

45:03.500 --> 45:05.500
Acts 2.

45:05.500 --> 45:11.500
Acts 2 and Acts 2.24, it says, Whom God has raised up, having loosened the pains of death,

45:11.500 --> 45:15.500
because it was not possible that he should beholden of it.

45:15.500 --> 45:23.500
For David speaketh concerning him, I first saw the Lord always before my face, for he was on my right hand, that he should not be moved.

45:23.500 --> 45:26.500
Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad.

45:26.500 --> 45:37.500
Moreover, also my flesh shall rest in hope, because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption.

45:37.500 --> 45:43.500
Understand, even David spoke of the one who would come, not being left in hell.

45:43.500 --> 45:46.500
Why is the lamb being burnt?

45:46.500 --> 45:49.500
People get upset that we teach this here.

45:49.500 --> 45:53.500
Christ literally paid for your sins in hell.

45:53.500 --> 46:05.500
He descended for three days and three nights into the heart of the earth, which the heart of the earth, even science says, is literally fire and burning beyond our copper hitchet of heat.

46:05.500 --> 46:07.500
It is reinforced in Matthew 12 and 40.

46:07.500 --> 46:09.500
You go ahead and turn back to Acts 12.

46:09.500 --> 46:19.500
Matthew 12 says, For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the well's belly, so shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

46:19.500 --> 46:22.500
Understand, the Passover lamb had to be burnt.

46:22.500 --> 46:23.500
It had to be burnt whole.

46:23.500 --> 46:26.500
You had to take of the burnt flesh.

46:26.500 --> 46:30.500
And if you couldn't finish that lamb, the rest of it had to be burnt completely.

46:30.500 --> 46:31.500
It's not a partial.

46:31.500 --> 46:33.500
It's not a this.

46:33.500 --> 46:34.500
It's not just the best cuts of meat.

46:34.500 --> 46:44.500
All of it is to be burnt because it is a full burnt offering because it was pointing towards what Christ would have to do for us for three days and three nights.

46:44.500 --> 46:47.500
He descended into hell paying for our sins.

46:47.500 --> 46:49.500
Yes, he tormented on the cross.

46:49.500 --> 46:55.500
Yes, he was rejected in this flesh to show us in the most clear way in flesh how to suffer.

46:55.500 --> 47:00.500
But we believe in deeper that he actually suffered spiritually for us.

47:00.500 --> 47:09.500
And I believe that is why the lamb must be burnt because it shows what Christ did for us.

47:09.500 --> 47:12.500
If you're back in Exodus 12, we can do right along.

47:12.500 --> 47:23.500
Verse 11, Exodus 12, verse 11, it says, And thou shalt eat it with your lines girdled and your shoes on your feet and your staff in your hand and shall eat in haste.

47:23.500 --> 47:26.500
It is your Lord's Passover.

47:26.500 --> 47:28.500
Understand this.

47:28.500 --> 47:32.500
You know, this church, we believe that the Lord's Supper should be taken seriously.

47:32.500 --> 47:34.500
It should be a time of solon.

47:34.500 --> 47:35.500
It's not a time to hang out.

47:35.500 --> 47:38.500
It's not a time that we just feast fellowship.

47:38.500 --> 47:39.500
We love doing those things.

47:39.500 --> 47:41.500
But this is not the time to do it.

47:41.500 --> 47:47.500
And I believe this is kind of a symbol of why this is now practically the reason they're eating it.

47:47.500 --> 47:51.500
Hey, says, Hey, you eat this and you finish the Passover, you burn it all because you guess what?

47:51.500 --> 47:54.500
Egypt wants you gone in the morning.

47:54.500 --> 48:04.500
The reason practically they had no leaven in their bread was that quickly prepare as they leave their homes that they've always known and they had to get out of Egypt and flee into the desert.

48:04.500 --> 48:06.500
It says in the chapter.

48:06.500 --> 48:08.500
That is why they didn't have time to make it leaven.

48:08.500 --> 48:17.500
But as I read at the beginning of this, leaven is a symbol of sin, which is why spiritually we see they partake in no leaven.

48:17.500 --> 48:19.500
And I believe in the Lord's Supper.

48:19.500 --> 48:21.500
That is why we don't have it.

48:21.500 --> 48:22.500
You have to take up.

48:22.500 --> 48:28.500
You have to break up the sinless flesh and we rip apart the bread, which symbolizes Christ in the New Testament.

48:28.500 --> 48:35.500
But even in the past, so it kept it and even says if you eat leaven during this picture, because everything in the Old Testament is a picture.

48:35.500 --> 48:38.500
He literally says they are cast out.

48:38.500 --> 48:39.500
Get out.

48:39.500 --> 48:41.500
You are not of the children.

48:41.500 --> 48:42.500
That is a harsh punishment.

48:42.500 --> 48:45.500
And a lot of people are like, well, the Old Testament guy was cruel.

48:45.500 --> 48:46.500
No, no, no.

48:46.500 --> 48:54.500
He wanted it was a perfect picture so that if you for a thousand years have all these pictures leading to the Christ, you have no excuse to not understand who this is.

48:54.500 --> 48:57.500
But he did.

48:57.500 --> 49:01.500
But he says you must eat it and hate it with your shoes on.

49:01.500 --> 49:04.500
You weren't coming over to just hang out with this feast.

49:04.500 --> 49:07.500
It was not how we celebrate Thanksgiving or that.

49:07.500 --> 49:13.500
It wasn't, even though you did it with your family, it is to be done quickly and seriously.

49:13.500 --> 49:19.500
And I believe that's why we try to be serious with the Lord's Supper now.

49:19.500 --> 49:22.500
In verse 14, this is still Exodus 12, verse 14.

49:22.500 --> 49:25.500
And this day shall be unto you a memorial.

49:25.500 --> 49:29.500
You shall keep it as a feast to the Lord throughout your generations.

49:29.500 --> 49:33.500
You shall keep the feast by the ordinance for ever.

49:33.500 --> 49:36.500
And understand this.

49:36.500 --> 49:48.500
I believe the way we keep this now is the Lord's Supper because we're not looking forward to the coming Christ, the sacrificial lamb that will take away the sins of the earth and bypass God's wrath by his blood.

49:48.500 --> 49:51.500
We're looking back at honoring him until he comes.

49:51.500 --> 49:57.500
So I believe we still some people bring up, well, you don't really believe the Bible because you're not keeping his ordinance.

49:57.500 --> 50:01.500
And it says, well, until Jesus comes, no, it says forever.

50:01.500 --> 50:05.500
Well, we are because Christ is the Passover lamb.

50:05.500 --> 50:13.500
So we are keeping the sacrifice because he kept the sacrifice and we remember him for that sacrifice.

50:13.500 --> 50:17.500
But here's the thing is, understand this has been throughout.

50:17.500 --> 50:21.500
This is the Passover Jesus held before his disciples.

50:21.500 --> 50:26.500
All right. Abel was a keeper of sheep and he brought the first laying of the flocks for the sheep.

50:26.500 --> 50:33.500
Also, if you think of Abraham, he said the Lord will provide a sacrifice.

50:33.500 --> 50:38.500
He was probably hoping to keep his son. But did the Lord provide his own sacrifice to take away the sins of this world?

50:38.500 --> 50:42.500
He absolutely did. He brought forth the Lamb of God.

50:42.500 --> 50:49.500
But Abraham, the father of our faith, by faith, you know, was willing to do whatever he could for the Lord.

50:49.500 --> 50:51.500
And God provided the sacrifice that day.

50:51.500 --> 50:57.500
That was yet another picture showing God will provide his sacrifice of what he wants.

50:57.500 --> 51:02.500
He did in the son, Jesus, the patriarchs, all shepherds.

51:02.500 --> 51:08.500
Why? They were never excused to not have a lamb to keep that picture.

51:08.500 --> 51:11.500
The sacrifice was to be a pure lamb with no blemishes.

51:11.500 --> 51:14.500
Keep your place in Exodus 12, but you can turn to John 1.

51:14.500 --> 51:18.500
John 1 with me.

51:18.500 --> 51:21.500
John 1, looking down at verse 29.

51:21.500 --> 51:31.500
John 21, verse 29, it says, The next day, John, see if Jesus coming unto him and said, Behold the Lamb of God,

51:31.500 --> 51:34.500
which taketh away the sins of the world.

51:34.500 --> 51:43.500
This is he whom I said, After me comeeth a man which is preferred before me, for he was before me.

51:43.500 --> 51:50.500
John, the greatest man who ever lived outside of the kingdom of God by the Bible says,

51:50.500 --> 51:53.500
literally said, This is the Lamb of God.

51:53.500 --> 51:57.500
And he mostly was speaking to a Jewish people coming out to the desert.

51:57.500 --> 52:00.500
It wasn't that, oh, this is just so new. No one could see this.

52:00.500 --> 52:02.500
They were waiting for their Messiah to come.

52:02.500 --> 52:05.500
And John literally says, Here he is.

52:05.500 --> 52:09.500
Now some of them were like, Oh, well, they're going to give us freedom from Rome.

52:09.500 --> 52:11.500
No, he's going to give you freedom from this world.

52:11.500 --> 52:14.500
But not in this world.

52:14.500 --> 52:15.500
This is our lamb.

52:15.500 --> 52:20.500
And John was obviously pointing because did you do a lamb with the Abrahamic religion?

52:20.500 --> 52:22.500
You sacrificed it.

52:22.500 --> 52:25.500
People knew that this is what it was.

52:25.500 --> 52:30.500
It's only the modern, rabbinical priesthood that rejects this.

52:30.500 --> 52:32.500
They understood what was to come.

52:32.500 --> 52:35.500
They rejected it.

52:35.500 --> 52:38.500
You turn to Romans five, Romans five in first Corinthians five.

52:38.500 --> 52:42.500
It says, For Christ, our Passover is sacrificed to us.

52:42.500 --> 52:50.500
First, Peter one verse 18 says, For as much as you know that you were not redeemed with corrupt things as silver or gold,

52:50.500 --> 52:54.500
for your vain conversation received by traditions from your fathers,

52:54.500 --> 52:59.500
but with the precious blood of Christ as our lamb without blemish, without spot,

52:59.500 --> 53:03.500
who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world,

53:03.500 --> 53:10.500
but was manifest these last times for you, whom by him do believe in God,

53:10.500 --> 53:17.500
that raised him up from the dead and gave him glory, that your faith and hope might be in God.

53:17.500 --> 53:20.500
Understand, if you're keeping the Passover in mind from the Bible,

53:20.500 --> 53:21.500
what he just said is amazing.

53:21.500 --> 53:24.500
This is our lamb and it is by his blood that we are saved.

53:24.500 --> 53:26.500
That is literally the Passover fulfilled.

53:26.500 --> 53:30.500
Jesus fulfills the Passover forever.

53:30.500 --> 53:36.500
And this is why in this church, look, if you decide to have lamb today, great.

53:36.500 --> 53:41.500
But you're not keeping the Passover because I know none of you are rich enough to buy full lamb in America right now.

53:41.500 --> 53:44.500
And you're not building a big enough fire to get rid of it.

53:44.500 --> 53:50.500
So if you have lamb, be respectful, but please don't say, well, I'm keeping Passover

53:50.500 --> 53:52.500
because Christ has come.

53:52.500 --> 53:58.500
The picture was fulfilled by the actual fulfillment.

53:58.500 --> 54:03.500
Remember Christ today on the day of resurrection because the Passover is pointing to him.

54:03.500 --> 54:04.500
He was greater than that.

54:04.500 --> 54:10.500
And by his blood, God's wrath will overpass all those that are sealed by him.

54:10.500 --> 54:15.500
For God's wrath cannot touch us just like he couldn't touch the children of Israel

54:15.500 --> 54:19.500
because God's wrath will overpass everyone that is washed in the blood of Christ.

54:19.500 --> 54:22.500
It is not by your blood. It is not by your works.

54:22.500 --> 54:25.500
It's not by your actions, you know, all the things.

54:25.500 --> 54:32.500
It is that did you have faith to receive the blood and by him, you know, by his works.

54:32.500 --> 54:38.500
And he is, you are sealed and beyond God's wrath.

54:38.500 --> 54:43.500
And is that because I think a lot of times, sometimes a man, I'm bad, you know, and I'm going to get punished.

54:43.500 --> 54:44.500
Like sometimes you might have doubt.

54:44.500 --> 54:46.500
Look to the children of Israel.

54:46.500 --> 54:49.500
It was not by their work God's wrath bypassed them.

54:49.500 --> 54:54.500
It was by keeping faith of God and the wrath of God.

54:54.500 --> 54:59.500
The destroyer, as it says in the Bible, came through the land.

54:59.500 --> 55:04.500
He didn't look at their actions, didn't look at their history, didn't look at what they would do in the future,

55:04.500 --> 55:06.500
didn't look at anything.

55:06.500 --> 55:10.500
He's just like the blood of the sacrifice move on.

55:10.500 --> 55:13.500
And that should reassure you.

55:13.500 --> 55:14.500
That should let you know.

55:14.500 --> 55:16.500
Look, it's not a hell that we miss.

55:16.500 --> 55:19.500
We will not be touched by God's wrath.

55:19.500 --> 55:23.500
Not this is it's just beautiful.

55:23.500 --> 55:29.500
And that is what we celebrate today at Easter Passover, rectorate, resurrection Sunday, whatever you want to call it.

55:29.500 --> 55:37.500
You can celebrate this for the rest of days every day because this is the sacrifice that we know that keeps us from God's wrath.

55:37.500 --> 55:42.500
And you're in Romans 5 and verse 8 it says,

55:42.500 --> 56:10.500
It's always amazing to me when you find people that are like, well, it's not his blood.

56:10.500 --> 56:12.500
Well, it's not his death.

56:12.500 --> 56:15.500
Well, it's like, no, it's all of it.

56:15.500 --> 56:18.500
Look, we focus a lot on his death, burial, resurrection.

56:18.500 --> 56:19.500
But what was it that he did?

56:19.500 --> 56:22.500
He took his blood and offered it as a sacrifice.

56:22.500 --> 56:23.500
And you know what?

56:23.500 --> 56:27.500
Sometimes not everyone we go to may be refined on this, but it is what it is.

56:27.500 --> 56:29.500
It is his blood.

56:29.500 --> 56:32.500
It's throughout the Bible and people denying this.

56:32.500 --> 56:33.500
It's nuts.

56:33.500 --> 56:38.500
And it's like something like, well, you know, it's just different in the Old Testament.

56:38.500 --> 56:41.500
The Old Testament is pointing to the New Testament.

56:41.500 --> 56:42.500
Look, they may have done things.

56:42.500 --> 56:47.500
Yes, the unleavened bread was for necessity of travel through the wood, but it was for a spiritual picture.

56:47.500 --> 56:53.500
And he wanted them to keep it every year forever until he changed the ordinance.

56:53.500 --> 56:55.500
The old has withered and blown away.

56:55.500 --> 56:57.500
The new has replaced it.

56:57.500 --> 56:59.500
But why was it there?

56:59.500 --> 57:00.500
It wasn't there for no reason.

57:00.500 --> 57:05.500
It was to point and teach us about Christ and his sacrifice.

57:05.500 --> 57:07.500
It was his blood.

57:07.500 --> 57:10.500
We shall be saved from the wrath through him.

57:10.500 --> 57:17.500
It's just pointing back to the Passover and John nine, verse nine, it says, I am the door by me.

57:17.500 --> 57:24.500
If any man enter in, he shall be saved and he shall go in and out and find pasture.

57:24.500 --> 57:36.500
Look, we may not put the blood upon our own doorpost in the New Testament, but I hope you go through the door post of Christ for his blood is what will bypass the wrath of God.

57:36.500 --> 57:46.500
Even today turned to Revelation 12, Revelation 12, Revelation 12 and verse 10.

57:46.500 --> 57:49.500
And I heard a loud voice saying from heaven.

57:49.500 --> 58:01.500
Now it comes to salvation of strength in the kingdom of God and the power of his Christ from the accuser of the brethren is cast down, which accuses them before God day and night.

58:01.500 --> 58:09.500
And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of his testimony.

58:09.500 --> 58:12.500
And they love not their lives unto death.

58:12.500 --> 58:25.500
Understand at the end of time and in the world when when Satan is literally cast down, he's no longer to accuse you and everyone else and everyone through time before God day and night accusing everyone.

58:25.500 --> 58:35.500
He has cast down and everyone there will be saved and secured in heaven because of the blood of the lamb.

58:35.500 --> 58:37.500
How do you know the blood of the lamb?

58:37.500 --> 58:41.500
By the word of their testimony, the words of God.

58:41.500 --> 58:42.500
Christ is the word of God.

58:42.500 --> 58:46.500
You know what he tells you about the blood of his sacrifice.

58:46.500 --> 58:50.500
He is the lamb of God that was sacrificed for the world.

58:50.500 --> 58:56.500
And this was all pointing from the picture of Passover.

58:56.500 --> 58:59.500
Turn back to access 12 place and hopefully you kept a point there.

58:59.500 --> 59:03.500
We will always be returning back to the Passover.

59:03.500 --> 59:13.500
I'm not sure, but.

59:13.500 --> 59:17.500
Next is 12 and verse 21 access 12 and verse 21.

59:17.500 --> 59:25.500
Then Moses called for the elders of Israel and said of them, draw out and take your lamb according to your families and kill the Passover.

59:25.500 --> 59:37.500
And he shall take a bunch of his and dip it in blood that it is of a basin and strike the lentil of the two side post with blood that is a bastion.

59:37.500 --> 59:45.500
And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning, for the Lord will pass through and smite the Egyptians.

59:45.500 --> 59:54.500
And when he see the blood upon the lentil and all the Jews, the Lord will pass over the door and will not suffer the destroyer to come into your house.

59:54.500 --> 59:57.500
This might you.

59:57.500 --> 59:59.500
And understand.

59:59.500 --> 01:00:03.500
I said this, that the destroyer is coming through.

01:00:03.500 --> 01:00:05.500
He's not looking upon you.

01:00:05.500 --> 01:00:07.500
Frankly, we try to teach.

01:00:07.500 --> 01:00:09.500
We had to explain this to this gentleman today.

01:00:09.500 --> 01:00:12.500
Actually, look, it is what Christ did.

01:00:12.500 --> 01:00:13.500
Yes.

01:00:13.500 --> 01:00:14.500
Are you a sinner?

01:00:14.500 --> 01:00:15.500
100 percent.

01:00:15.500 --> 01:00:17.500
Are you going to sit in the future?

01:00:17.500 --> 01:00:20.500
Guaranteed.

01:00:20.500 --> 01:00:21.500
Well, what if it's bad?

01:00:21.500 --> 01:00:24.500
You're not doing the way God views.

01:00:24.500 --> 01:00:29.500
God's wrath comes down and he sees the blood of Christ.

01:00:29.500 --> 01:00:30.500
Move on.

01:00:30.500 --> 01:00:34.500
Parts of the Bible, it says, I will not impute sin upon you.

01:00:34.500 --> 01:00:46.500
When Christ, when David committed his great sin and he said, Lord, forgive me, he says, I'm not going to put the sin upon you, but you will be punished on this earth.

01:00:46.500 --> 01:00:47.500
You are saved.

01:00:47.500 --> 01:00:51.500
You will remain in the book of life, which means you will have eternity.

01:00:51.500 --> 01:00:58.500
But let me tell you, God's wrath just sees that blood of and he will not bring his wrath upon the blood of his own son.

01:00:58.500 --> 01:01:02.500
That is the atonement.

01:01:02.500 --> 01:01:03.500
It's not that we're good.

01:01:03.500 --> 01:01:05.500
It's not that we deserve it.

01:01:05.500 --> 01:01:07.500
It's not that we're even worthy because we're not.

01:01:07.500 --> 01:01:16.500
But because he is so worthy and he wishes to basically put us under the protection by the sealing of his own blood.

01:01:16.500 --> 01:01:23.500
That is the strength that Christ has sealed us by his own blood and all this.

01:01:23.500 --> 01:01:25.500
So if you're ever worried, like what about God's wrath?

01:01:25.500 --> 01:01:26.500
What about the anger?

01:01:26.500 --> 01:01:29.500
What about what you deserve?

01:01:29.500 --> 01:01:36.500
Because sometimes that makes us weak in faith like, man, I even I think I probably deserve to be punished.

01:01:36.500 --> 01:01:38.500
And here's the truth.

01:01:38.500 --> 01:01:41.500
You're right.

01:01:41.500 --> 01:01:43.500
That can be hard for Christians.

01:01:43.500 --> 01:01:44.500
And here's the thing.

01:01:44.500 --> 01:01:46.500
It should humble us.

01:01:46.500 --> 01:01:54.500
But what should redeem us and reflect upon us and bring us to life is that we are under literally the blood atonement of Christ.

01:01:54.500 --> 01:02:02.500
And God's wrath cannot touch us, not just because God is not a liar, but he's already his son's already gone through so much.

01:02:02.500 --> 01:02:06.500
He's not going to bring more punishment upon the blood of his own son.

01:02:06.500 --> 01:02:13.500
Sacrifice for a world that is for the most part unacknowledging, doesn't respect it, doesn't do that.

01:02:13.500 --> 01:02:19.500
But we are sealed under that, just like all the Israelis in Egypt at that time, which is a symbol of a world.

01:02:19.500 --> 01:02:22.500
When his wrath comes, it doesn't matter what they were.

01:02:22.500 --> 01:02:24.500
Certainly some of them were horrible people.

01:02:24.500 --> 01:02:26.500
Some of them may have been good.

01:02:26.500 --> 01:02:32.500
That is at the time of judgment, not what gets them saved is that the blood is there.

01:02:32.500 --> 01:02:34.500
And that is how it is chosen.

01:02:34.500 --> 01:02:36.500
And Christ sacrificed.

01:02:36.500 --> 01:02:42.500
He was the blood of the lamb of the New Testament.

01:02:42.500 --> 01:02:45.500
We're still in Exodus 12. Look down at verse 43.

01:02:45.500 --> 01:02:51.500
Exodus 12 down in verse 43.

01:02:51.500 --> 01:02:56.500
And it says, And the Lord said unto Moses and Aaron, This is an ordinance of the Passover.

01:02:56.500 --> 01:03:06.500
There shall no stranger eat thereof, but every man's servant that is brought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, thou shall eat thereof.

01:03:06.500 --> 01:03:10.500
A foreigner and his hired servant shall not eat thereof.

01:03:10.500 --> 01:03:13.500
In the house it shall be eaten.

01:03:13.500 --> 01:03:20.500
Thou shall not carry forth out of the flesh abroad of the house, neither shall ye break a bone thereof.

01:03:20.500 --> 01:03:22.500
Now I'll just stop right there.

01:03:22.500 --> 01:03:29.500
Isn't it interesting that the Bible very clearly in multiple gospels let you know not a bone was broken in Christ.

01:03:29.500 --> 01:03:35.500
Now the guards, they went to the thief with a hammer because they're like, it's getting late in the day.

01:03:35.500 --> 01:03:38.500
You know, I don't want to put in overtime today.

01:03:38.500 --> 01:03:40.500
It's Easter right now.

01:03:40.500 --> 01:03:42.500
That's the wrong timing. Sorry.

01:03:42.500 --> 01:03:44.500
Obviously that was a few days later.

01:03:44.500 --> 01:03:52.500
But what I mean is they brought a hammer to literally break the knees of the thief so they would suffocate more.

01:03:52.500 --> 01:03:55.500
But they came to Christ and he'd already died.

01:03:55.500 --> 01:03:57.500
So they didn't do it.

01:03:57.500 --> 01:04:02.500
And multiple places they say not a bone was broken.

01:04:02.500 --> 01:04:05.500
He was pierced with a spear.

01:04:05.500 --> 01:04:06.500
He was whipped.

01:04:06.500 --> 01:04:07.500
He was beaten.

01:04:07.500 --> 01:04:09.500
He had many pains.

01:04:09.500 --> 01:04:12.500
Bruised for our iniquities.

01:04:12.500 --> 01:04:14.500
He had nails through his hand.

01:04:14.500 --> 01:04:17.500
But not one bone was broken.

01:04:17.500 --> 01:04:20.500
Because he had to keep.

01:04:20.500 --> 01:04:23.500
The Passover was a picture.

01:04:23.500 --> 01:04:27.500
Why did you not cut off the hooves or the neck of the Passover?

01:04:27.500 --> 01:04:30.500
No bones would be broken in the Passover lamb.

01:04:30.500 --> 01:04:32.500
It was an ordinance.

01:04:32.500 --> 01:04:36.500
And Christ kept that ordinance until he fulfilled it.

01:04:36.500 --> 01:04:38.500
Verse 47 it says,

01:05:03.500 --> 01:05:07.500
Why I just had these verses read is this.

01:05:07.500 --> 01:05:11.500
No broken bone is just another picture to the New Testament that Christ did.

01:05:11.500 --> 01:05:13.500
But he's basically saying this.

01:05:13.500 --> 01:05:20.500
If someone's just driving through, like you're in the Middle East, there's a Hindu trader coming through the land during your Passover.

01:05:20.500 --> 01:05:22.500
He's not going to keep this.

01:05:22.500 --> 01:05:24.500
This isn't for him.

01:05:24.500 --> 01:05:29.500
But if there's someone soul journeying, and what soul journeying was is he's living among you.

01:05:29.500 --> 01:05:31.500
And it says he wants to keep it.

01:05:31.500 --> 01:05:33.500
He's in your land.

01:05:33.500 --> 01:05:34.500
He's a foreigner.

01:05:34.500 --> 01:05:35.500
He's not from here.

01:05:35.500 --> 01:05:37.500
He wasn't born a child of Israel.

01:05:37.500 --> 01:05:42.500
But he's soul journeying among you and he's like, yeah, I want to honor the one true God.

01:05:42.500 --> 01:05:47.500
He says he shall be as he is born there.

01:05:47.500 --> 01:05:52.500
In many places in the Bible it says, hey, he shall become an inheritance with whoever he lives there.

01:05:52.500 --> 01:05:53.500
Because guess what?

01:05:53.500 --> 01:05:54.500
It wasn't about blood.

01:05:54.500 --> 01:05:57.500
It was about honoring the true God.

01:05:57.500 --> 01:06:00.500
That is what the, it even says right there.

01:06:00.500 --> 01:06:07.500
It says even though he's, as long as he's basically, he wants to keep the commandments of God and be lived and actually hold the Passover to honor God.

01:06:07.500 --> 01:06:14.500
Hey, as long as he's circumcised, which at that time was this physical symbol that you would be a child of God.

01:06:14.500 --> 01:06:17.500
Yes, he should keep the Passover.

01:06:17.500 --> 01:06:18.500
And guess what?

01:06:18.500 --> 01:06:19.500
There should be no law.

01:06:19.500 --> 01:06:21.500
Well, I was born here.

01:06:21.500 --> 01:06:24.500
Now that's not how the law works.

01:06:24.500 --> 01:06:27.500
The law of God is you want to be a child of God.

01:06:27.500 --> 01:06:29.500
This is there's one for all.

01:06:29.500 --> 01:06:30.500
Doesn't matter that you weren't born here.

01:06:30.500 --> 01:06:32.500
You weren't raised a Jew from birth.

01:06:32.500 --> 01:06:33.500
That wasn't the problem.

01:06:33.500 --> 01:06:36.500
You soldier in there and wow, wow, this is true God.

01:06:36.500 --> 01:06:40.500
I need to keep this ordinance because I want to be of the people of God.

01:06:40.500 --> 01:06:42.500
They said, yeah, correct.

01:06:42.500 --> 01:06:44.500
Now that's obviously not what the Jews did.

01:06:44.500 --> 01:06:48.500
This is what was commanded of them because God didn't care how you were born.

01:06:48.500 --> 01:06:50.500
The Jews were supposed to be a lot.

01:06:50.500 --> 01:06:51.500
And I'm sorry.

01:06:51.500 --> 01:06:56.500
Israel was supposed to be a light to all nations for God.

01:06:56.500 --> 01:06:58.500
But they didn't go out and win people.

01:06:58.500 --> 01:07:00.500
That was one of their faults.

01:07:00.500 --> 01:07:07.500
But right here in this ordinance, because I said there's other places in the law where it says, hey, people come and move with on you and they honor God.

01:07:07.500 --> 01:07:08.500
They want to be part of people.

01:07:08.500 --> 01:07:10.500
They inherit with you.

01:07:10.500 --> 01:07:13.500
Well, their father wasn't Abraham.

01:07:13.500 --> 01:07:15.500
Spiritually, it was.

01:07:15.500 --> 01:07:17.500
That was true in the Old Testament.

01:07:17.500 --> 01:07:21.500
And you are if you are unaware, that is true now.

01:07:21.500 --> 01:07:28.500
So when people tell me, well, I'm of the tribe Levi, that's why I am the Messiah, as someone did yesterday.

01:07:28.500 --> 01:07:33.500
I won't even go there because they that's not even Jewish belief.

01:07:33.500 --> 01:07:34.500
That was just this person.

01:07:34.500 --> 01:07:39.500
Like they literally told me I'm not waiting for a Messiah because I am part of the Messiah.

01:07:40.500 --> 01:07:42.500
There was no humbleness there.

01:07:42.500 --> 01:07:44.500
So that person did not receive.

01:07:44.500 --> 01:07:48.500
So they will miss out on the true Passover.

01:07:48.500 --> 01:08:00.500
But why I want you to read this part is even in the part of just the Passover, they just remind you this is for all those that want to honor God to keep this picture of the coming.

01:08:00.500 --> 01:08:03.500
It's not about whether they were born or they came out of it.

01:08:03.500 --> 01:08:06.500
Like they haven't even left Egypt yet.

01:08:06.500 --> 01:08:08.500
And they're getting this commandment.

01:08:08.500 --> 01:08:11.500
You will keep this and anyone who wants to keep it with you.

01:08:11.500 --> 01:08:14.500
They're part of the people now.

01:08:14.500 --> 01:08:16.500
That's what mattered.

01:08:16.500 --> 01:08:18.500
Now is from the beginning.

01:08:22.500 --> 01:08:26.500
Go ahead and bump up just a little Exodus 12.

01:08:26.500 --> 01:08:30.500
Look down or look at verse 15 verse 15.

01:08:30.500 --> 01:08:33.500
Exodus 12 and verse 15 because this was kind of interesting part.

01:08:33.500 --> 01:08:40.500
And I will definitely tell you if this edifies you keep it if you don't agree with it.

01:08:40.500 --> 01:08:41.500
That's fine.

01:08:41.500 --> 01:08:46.500
But in Exodus 12 and verse 15 it says seven days shall you eat unleavened bread.

01:08:46.500 --> 01:08:56.500
Even the first day you shall put away all the leaven out of your house for whosoever eateth leaven bread from the first day on to the seventh day that soul shall be kept alive.

01:08:56.500 --> 01:09:01.500
And verse 16 and then the first day shall be a holy convocation.

01:09:01.500 --> 01:09:05.500
And the seventh day there shall be a holy convocation to you.

01:09:05.500 --> 01:09:14.500
No manner of work shall be done in the save that which every man must eat that only may be done for you.

01:09:14.500 --> 01:09:19.500
Ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread and the seventh day shall be done for you.

01:09:19.500 --> 01:09:22.500
That only may be done for you.

01:09:22.500 --> 01:09:29.500
Ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread and the south some day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt.

01:09:29.500 --> 01:09:35.500
Therefore shall you observe this day in your generations by a new ordinance.

01:09:35.500 --> 01:09:38.500
So I was looking at this.

01:09:38.500 --> 01:09:41.500
It's very important that you have seven days of this.

01:09:41.500 --> 01:09:44.500
The first day you will not labor.

01:09:45.500 --> 01:09:49.500
The seventh day you will not do anything.

01:09:49.500 --> 01:09:52.500
So you have two days that you will not work.

01:09:52.500 --> 01:09:54.500
I was trying to look at this.

01:09:54.500 --> 01:10:00.500
I'm like, OK, so I believe the way you escape God's wrath, it's not by your work.

01:10:00.500 --> 01:10:02.500
It's not by you.

01:10:02.500 --> 01:10:04.500
It's about the sacrificial blood.

01:10:04.500 --> 01:10:05.500
I think that's a perfect thing.

01:10:05.500 --> 01:10:08.500
Like, how are we going to not go to hell?

01:10:08.500 --> 01:10:09.500
Not by our works.

01:10:09.500 --> 01:10:11.500
It's by Christ works.

01:10:11.500 --> 01:10:13.500
It's by that work.

01:10:13.500 --> 01:10:16.500
It's his sacrificial blood that God's wrath will go.

01:10:16.500 --> 01:10:18.500
It's absolutely no work of you.

01:10:18.500 --> 01:10:20.500
It's not of you.

01:10:20.500 --> 01:10:22.500
That one, I was like, obviously.

01:10:22.500 --> 01:10:23.500
That's what we teach.

01:10:23.500 --> 01:10:25.500
Why don't we keep the Sabbath?

01:10:25.500 --> 01:10:26.500
We do.

01:10:26.500 --> 01:10:28.500
We trust God because we rest in him every week.

01:10:28.500 --> 01:10:30.500
All right.

01:10:30.500 --> 01:10:35.500
But the seventh day, I was like, well, what was that one?

01:10:35.500 --> 01:10:37.500
And I'm just going to tell you this.

01:10:37.500 --> 01:10:39.500
And I said, you don't agree with this timing.

01:10:39.500 --> 01:10:40.500
You don't.

01:10:40.500 --> 01:10:41.500
That's no problem.

01:10:41.500 --> 01:10:42.500
I'm not going to argue with you.

01:10:42.500 --> 01:10:43.500
But it is a picture.

01:10:43.500 --> 01:10:46.500
And if this is just a Jewish fable tradition, fine.

01:10:46.500 --> 01:10:52.500
The seventh day was when God split the ocean and they walked through.

01:10:52.500 --> 01:10:59.500
So basically, leaving this world to the promised land was not by their works either.

01:10:59.500 --> 01:11:00.500
I could not.

01:11:00.500 --> 01:11:01.500
I don't.

01:11:01.500 --> 01:11:04.500
This is more something I found that people talk about.

01:11:04.500 --> 01:11:06.500
It makes sense because pretty much they leave.

01:11:06.500 --> 01:11:08.500
They spend a few days out there and they go forward.

01:11:08.500 --> 01:11:14.500
But I'm not going to fight that because it's not they don't really have all the days counted there.

01:11:14.500 --> 01:11:17.500
But it's still like I said, you like this picture?

01:11:17.500 --> 01:11:18.500
Great.

01:11:18.500 --> 01:11:19.500
If not, no problem.

01:11:19.500 --> 01:11:30.500
But the seventh day, what you were remembered was, hey, when you were taken out of the land of Egypt, which I would say, even though it's not perfect, going into heaven, going into the promised land, which they messed up when they left here.

01:11:30.500 --> 01:11:32.500
So they had to suffer for 40 years.

01:11:32.500 --> 01:11:35.500
But what did he do again when they entered in past Jordan?

01:11:35.500 --> 01:11:37.500
He split the waters again.

01:11:37.500 --> 01:11:39.500
So I think it was a little important.

01:11:39.500 --> 01:11:42.500
But I said it's not a perfect picture.

01:11:42.500 --> 01:11:44.500
But how are you going to get to the promised land?

01:11:44.500 --> 01:11:46.500
Not by your work.

01:11:46.500 --> 01:11:54.500
I mean, later in the New Testament, the thief looks down at the rich man, looks up to Lazarus.

01:11:54.500 --> 01:11:56.500
They said there's a great golf between us.

01:11:56.500 --> 01:11:57.500
And guess what?

01:11:57.500 --> 01:12:01.500
The great golf, the army of the world could not cross either.

01:12:01.500 --> 01:12:04.500
But God could allow you to walk upon dry land through it.

01:12:04.500 --> 01:12:13.500
So the first is we won't we will avoid God's wrath, not by our works, and we will get to heaven, not by our works.

01:12:13.500 --> 01:12:21.500
And I said, I won't be too dog-batted on that because it was an interesting picture I'm sure if you don't throw it out because I can't.

01:12:21.500 --> 01:12:23.500
It doesn't count the days there.

01:12:23.500 --> 01:12:25.500
But why is it seven days?

01:12:25.500 --> 01:12:26.500
Why is it that?

01:12:26.500 --> 01:12:30.500
Because God gave him seven days of unleavened bread.

01:12:30.500 --> 01:12:32.500
And then no work.

01:12:32.500 --> 01:12:34.500
And that's the what we keep.

01:12:34.500 --> 01:12:35.500
That was the answer.

01:12:35.500 --> 01:12:38.500
If you guys have other ideas, I look forward to that.

01:12:38.500 --> 01:12:39.500
But that is what I came to.

01:12:39.500 --> 01:12:44.500
Why it is seven days and why there are two days we don't labor.

01:12:44.500 --> 01:12:49.500
We don't labor to avoid God's wrath and we don't labor to get to heaven.

01:12:49.500 --> 01:12:51.500
So either way, I think that's a good picture.

01:12:51.500 --> 01:12:55.500
And I said that that's what I came to for that.

01:12:55.500 --> 01:12:57.500
First Corinthians five, first Corinthians five.

01:12:57.500 --> 01:12:59.500
It says your glory is not good.

01:12:59.500 --> 01:13:07.500
Know ye not that a little leavened love of the whole lump purged out there for the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump as ye are unleavened.

01:13:07.500 --> 01:13:09.500
For Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.

01:13:09.500 --> 01:13:19.500
Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice or wickedness, but the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

01:13:19.500 --> 01:13:26.500
What I think the symbol of the unleavened bread, which I've already said, like we keep it that, it just says here, look, when we keep that, it should just be fresh bread.

01:13:27.500 --> 01:13:32.500
Now here's the thing, I know maybe in this room we like our sourdough, but why is it sour?

01:13:32.500 --> 01:13:35.500
It's kind of spoiled a little.

01:13:35.500 --> 01:13:40.500
I guess maybe it's in us that we like a little spoilage.

01:13:40.500 --> 01:13:46.500
I'm not telling you to be wicked, but the picture is here, like hey, it should be fresh.

01:13:46.500 --> 01:13:48.500
It should just be that.

01:13:48.500 --> 01:13:54.500
But what it's saying here is hey, we're not going to be able to get that fresh bread.

01:13:54.500 --> 01:14:04.500
But what it's saying here is hey, for seven days, hey, keep this Passover and don't use the old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness.

01:14:04.500 --> 01:14:16.500
It's basically a symbol that hey, if we allow malice and wickedness into our lives, we know it's not just like, well, there's just this one guy at work I just despise and I hate and I think about him and it won't affect any part of my life.

01:14:16.500 --> 01:14:18.500
You know that's not true.

01:14:18.500 --> 01:14:22.500
If you have someone that you're just...

01:14:22.500 --> 01:14:24.500
It goes through your whole life.

01:14:24.500 --> 01:14:28.500
Just that little bit, a leaven, will leaven your whole lump.

01:14:28.500 --> 01:14:32.500
What it's saying here, I think it's a picture of this, why do you get all the leaven out?

01:14:32.500 --> 01:14:34.500
Hey, you have to actually work to get the leaven out.

01:14:34.500 --> 01:14:38.500
You need to purge that out and it needs to be gone.

01:14:38.500 --> 01:14:40.500
And if you do it for seven days, it's probably better.

01:14:40.500 --> 01:14:41.500
A lot of people could do that.

01:14:41.500 --> 01:14:46.500
I'm a really good Sunday Christian.

01:14:46.500 --> 01:14:47.500
What do you mean by that?

01:14:47.500 --> 01:14:50.500
I wake up Sunday, put on my suit.

01:14:50.500 --> 01:14:52.500
Why hello, brother.

01:14:52.500 --> 01:14:54.500
It's good to see you, sister.

01:14:54.500 --> 01:14:55.500
I've done my time.

01:14:55.500 --> 01:14:58.500
I'm just doing the really good Lord's work.

01:14:58.500 --> 01:15:03.500
And then Monday you're like, the door's broke.

01:15:03.500 --> 01:15:07.500
I bet if you did that, I bet if you got rid of your leaven for a week, it'd be a little bit easier.

01:15:07.500 --> 01:15:09.500
It'd be gone for a little bit longer.

01:15:09.500 --> 01:15:12.500
So I think it's kind of interesting that for a week, you need to get that out.

01:15:12.500 --> 01:15:16.500
Like God's just like, hey, I know this is not so much a new test,

01:15:16.500 --> 01:15:18.500
but what a good principle.

01:15:18.500 --> 01:15:22.500
If you actually took the, hey, while you're taking this, if you're sincere and look,

01:15:22.500 --> 01:15:25.500
fully agree, you know, Lord's Supper once a year.

01:15:25.500 --> 01:15:32.500
But during the Passover, you actually said, hey, while the entire time you're on basically this bread ration of unleavened bread,

01:15:32.500 --> 01:15:35.500
you get all the leaven out of your own life.

01:15:35.500 --> 01:15:41.500
Can you imagine, like, there'd be some good for you, not just spiritually, but practically that, you know,

01:15:41.500 --> 01:15:44.500
should be regularly, but once a year, you're like,

01:15:44.500 --> 01:15:46.500
I am getting out all my leaven.

01:15:46.500 --> 01:15:49.500
It is how we say you need to prepare for the Lord's Supper.

01:15:49.500 --> 01:15:55.500
I'm not saying it's totally a seven day, you know, the words coming to me is fast.

01:15:55.500 --> 01:16:00.500
You should fast of wrath all the time and wickedness and lucidness,

01:16:00.500 --> 01:16:06.500
but it would be good if you're like, I'm going to take an entire time to kind of purify my life by getting rid of that old leaven.

01:16:06.500 --> 01:16:11.500
Get that part of my life that is just bitter in the back of my mind and just purge it out.

01:16:11.500 --> 01:16:18.500
I think that's just a really good practical application of why the seven days just get it all out.

01:16:18.500 --> 01:16:22.500
And that's how we kind of that's the way, you know, we just did the Lord's Supper.

01:16:22.500 --> 01:16:24.500
We preach, hey, yourself right.

01:16:24.500 --> 01:16:29.500
It wasn't that night like I'm just going to get rid of it right now.

01:16:29.500 --> 01:16:32.500
There's about a week and a half before we had the sermon on it.

01:16:32.500 --> 01:16:34.500
It's like, hey, start getting yourself right.

01:16:34.500 --> 01:16:40.500
You know, go, like, don't offer your sacrifice to the God if you're bitter towards a brother like start purging your life.

01:16:40.500 --> 01:16:44.500
And I believe that is the picture of the unleavened bread for seven days.

01:16:44.500 --> 01:16:54.500
Like practically for us is you you need to when you purge your wickedness, your greed, your lust out of your life.

01:16:54.500 --> 01:17:02.500
Look, it just can't be the couple hours you're in church for your own benefit, for your own good.

01:17:02.500 --> 01:17:08.500
Like you need to actually decide I'm cutting this out and I'm going to proactively make sure it's gone for a while.

01:17:08.500 --> 01:17:10.500
Hey, great if it's forever.

01:17:10.500 --> 01:17:17.500
But if you take a problem, you proactively for a week, I bet it's easier on the day eight to maybe let it go as well.

01:17:17.500 --> 01:17:20.500
Let's just not be a Sunday good Christian.

01:17:20.500 --> 01:17:24.500
Let's try to be Sunday to Sunday good Christians and maybe a little bit more.

01:17:24.500 --> 01:17:29.500
And I just think that's the practical application of that.

01:17:29.500 --> 01:17:36.500
My last point, go ahead and turn to Colossians one Colossians one.

01:17:36.500 --> 01:17:38.500
There's a lot in the Passover.

01:17:38.500 --> 01:17:40.500
There's a lot of symbolism.

01:17:40.500 --> 01:17:44.500
I think I already kind of hit on this one, but I want to finish on this.

01:17:44.500 --> 01:17:53.500
Why was it the firstborn?

01:17:53.500 --> 01:17:56.500
God's wrath was shown to the firstborn.

01:17:56.500 --> 01:18:00.500
Maybe that was because, you know, I think it's a perfect symbol.

01:18:00.500 --> 01:18:04.500
God would have to sacrifice his firstborn.

01:18:04.500 --> 01:18:07.500
And so he just took that as perfect picture.

01:18:07.500 --> 01:18:30.500
But here Colossians one verse 14, it says, In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins, who is the image of the invisible God that the firstborn of all of every creature for by him were all things created that are in heaven and that are in the earth visible and invisible, whether they be thorns,

01:18:30.500 --> 01:18:38.500
thrones or dominions or principalities or powers, all things were created by him and for him.

01:18:38.500 --> 01:18:43.500
And he is before all things and by him all things consist.

01:18:43.500 --> 01:18:56.500
And he is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he might have preeminence.

01:18:56.500 --> 01:19:02.500
When you're doing a Bible trivia question, and we kind of laugh, but you know what's always probably a good guess.

01:19:02.500 --> 01:19:05.500
It's Jesus.

01:19:05.500 --> 01:19:08.500
During the Passover, what was it about?

01:19:08.500 --> 01:19:10.500
It was about Jesus.

01:19:10.500 --> 01:19:17.500
It was the lamb being sacrificed is a picture of Jesus's sacrifice.

01:19:17.500 --> 01:19:19.500
That's all he came to the world to do.

01:19:19.500 --> 01:19:21.500
He came to give us a symbol.

01:19:21.500 --> 01:19:24.500
He came to tell us about what he would do.

01:19:24.500 --> 01:19:27.500
It was pointing towards that moment in this weekend.

01:19:27.500 --> 01:19:32.500
We remember the sacrifice Christ did and that he conquered it.

01:19:32.500 --> 01:19:35.500
The Passover is all about Jesus.

01:19:35.500 --> 01:19:44.500
I believe not working the first day and the seventh day both point to Jesus getting 11 out and believing a sinless life.

01:19:44.500 --> 01:19:46.500
That was pointed Jesus.

01:19:46.500 --> 01:19:53.500
The blood, not the demon, the blood as a symbol of what God's wrath will bypass you.

01:19:53.500 --> 01:19:56.500
That was about Jesus.

01:19:56.500 --> 01:19:59.500
It was always all about Jesus.

01:19:59.500 --> 01:20:01.500
For he is the firstborn of every creature.

01:20:01.500 --> 01:20:07.500
Everything in the world that is seen was created by him and for him.

01:20:07.500 --> 01:20:10.500
And he was the firstborn of the dead.

01:20:10.500 --> 01:20:15.500
Showing that he conquered death and hell for us.

01:20:15.500 --> 01:20:18.500
It's always about Jesus.

01:20:18.500 --> 01:20:20.500
The Passover was no exception.

01:20:20.500 --> 01:20:27.500
Why it is that we still hold Easter, Passover, Resurrection Sunday, whatever you wish to call it.

01:20:27.500 --> 01:20:30.500
It was all about Jesus.

01:20:30.500 --> 01:20:33.500
The Old Testament, it was about Jesus.

01:20:33.500 --> 01:20:37.500
The New Testament, it's about Jesus.

01:20:37.500 --> 01:20:39.500
It's all about Jesus.

01:20:39.500 --> 01:20:52.500
And yes, the first, even God showed it was about Jesus when he took the firstborn of all the Egyptians and all those that did not put the sacrificial blood over their doorpost.

01:20:52.500 --> 01:20:55.500
He took the firstborn.

01:20:55.500 --> 01:20:59.500
It was still pointing towards Jesus' sacrifice.

01:20:59.500 --> 01:21:05.500
Why was God calling for Abraham's firstborn?

01:21:05.500 --> 01:21:12.500
To show that God, even though Abraham showed through faith, if that's what you required Lord, I would do it.

01:21:12.500 --> 01:21:14.500
But he says that's not required of you.

01:21:14.500 --> 01:21:22.500
God could make his own sacrifice as Abraham promised and God fulfilled through Jesus.

01:21:22.500 --> 01:21:28.500
The Lamb was always a picture throughout the whole Bible and Christ fulfilled that.

01:21:28.500 --> 01:21:34.500
So today as we celebrate Easter, let us remember it's not a separate holiday.

01:21:34.500 --> 01:21:36.500
These are the same holiday.

01:21:36.500 --> 01:21:41.500
It's just that we have fulfilled the Passover sacrifice truly in Jesus.

01:21:41.500 --> 01:21:50.500
So we look back and honor that sacrifice, not the physical freedom that the nation of Israel got from Egypt.

01:21:50.500 --> 01:21:56.500
For that was just a spiritual picture of what Christ would do to free us from this world.

01:21:56.500 --> 01:21:57.500
With that, let's pray.

01:21:57.500 --> 01:21:58.500
Heavenly Father, thank you so much today.

01:21:58.500 --> 01:22:00.500
Thank you for allowing me to preach this.

01:22:00.500 --> 01:22:02.500
I give thanks.

01:22:02.500 --> 01:22:11.500
I was able to preach this and see the beautiful pictures that Passover gave to us and how, yes, it freed the Israel from Egypt.

01:22:11.500 --> 01:22:17.500
But Lord, all the Old Testament was an imperfect picture pointing to the perfect picture of Christ.

01:22:17.500 --> 01:22:24.500
Lord, we give thanks that you fulfilled all the promises and showed us that Christ was your first plan.

01:22:24.500 --> 01:22:26.500
And it's always going to be how we get saved.

01:22:26.500 --> 01:22:28.500
In Jesus' name, amen.

01:22:36.500 --> 01:22:44.500
All right, if you want to take your hymnals, we're going to turn to page number 316.

01:22:44.500 --> 01:22:47.500
Page number 316.

01:22:47.500 --> 01:22:50.500
I have decided to follow Jesus.

01:22:55.500 --> 01:23:02.500
I have decided to follow Jesus.

01:23:02.500 --> 01:23:11.500
I have decided to follow Jesus.

01:23:11.500 --> 01:23:18.500
No turning back.

01:23:18.500 --> 01:23:25.500
follow Jesus no turning back no turning back though none go with me still I will follow

01:23:33.420 --> 01:23:40.420
though none go with me still I will follow though none go with me still I will follow

01:23:40.420 --> 01:23:47.420
though none go with me still I will follow no turning back no turning back the world

01:23:52.100 --> 01:23:59.100
behind me the cross before me the world behind me the cross before me the world behind me

01:23:59.100 --> 01:24:06.100
the cross before me the world behind me the cross before me no turning back no turning

01:24:13.100 --> 01:24:14.100
back.

01:24:14.100 --> 01:24:21.100
Alright, excellent singing everybody, Brother Ranja, please close us in order of prayer.
